Drinks are reasonable, bartenders are the best, if it's crowded yes there is lots of second hand smoke.

Awesome service and cheap drinks. Just a perfect neighborhood bar. Can get smokey but service is gold. Ditch the chain spots and come to Hydad's.

Friendly staff and good food. I ordered some kind of chicken wrap and it was really good. However, I can't get over the overall decor of this place. It's very dark and dreary, and honestly pretty dirty looking. They have this 70's carpet covering the walls. Strange. Also very smokey. Reasonably priced,. This place is your typical neighborhood dive bar. On Sundays they don't open until 4:00, which is really stupid during football season.

A-OK but, it can get smokey and kinda crowded pretty quick. Here's the skinny: Simple drinks here... no fancy isht Mind your lungs, it gets smokey in here. Not much room on the "back side" of the bar. Booths are hard on your cheeks. Tables are better for a group. Here's the fat: If you're looking for a Martini or something, look elsewhere. Here it's beer, and simply mixed drinks as fast as they can pour 'em. This is another one of those NWI no frills just bottle and draft beer places. If you want a particular mixed drink - bring the recipe... they'll make it for you. If you don't smoke and have an aversion... stay away. Being a smaller bar and in Indiana the smoke pours forth from people like a *Pyroclastic Flow. The ventilation system has absolutely ZERO chance of keeping up. One side of the bar is less that 3 feet from the East wall... not many people pass through there but, when they do it's an awkward invasion of your "personal bubble". That said... it's a bar so personal space doesn't really mean much, especially after people have a few drinks. The booths here are particularly hard, I suggest sitting down gently unless you've got plenty of cushioning back there. Another thing about the booths, you're likely to find all kinds of change in the seats... change, cigarette butts and a coupon for Pizza Hut. Best bet for a group, tables. They can be put together for larger groups and there's no faux padding on the chairs to make you think they're soft. SYOY *Pyroclastic Flow (Noun) A fast moving gaseous cloud of hot ashes and other material thrown out from an erupting volcano

Really good dive bar (and I say with with all due respect, as I love dive bars). As others have stated, the smoke in this place is BRUTAL...but he owners are nice and the crowd is a nice mix of people...no gangbangers and no motorcycle gang dudes. Didn't eat food, but detinks are strong and CHEAP.

This is one of my favorite watering holes in the area. They definitely treat the regulars great here.

Fun bar. Bartenders are down to earth and friendly.

This is my girlfriend's 'home bar' and at first I was not impressed. But it grows on you. Smokey, yes. But the bartender was nice and poured a very strong V&T. No one was playing the jukebox. We wanted to chat and had lots of quiet. Hydad's is in a strip mall off of Broadway. I think they do food but nothing impressive. Its a nice, quiet, friendly place to stop for a drink if you are in neighborhood.
