I've been wanting to stop here for 10 years because I love Chinese and I could see the parking lot is always full. The only reason I finally got to stop was that my youngest son finally discovered Lo Mien and he approved since it is not a buffet. The Crab Rangoon was great and not the usual 4 corner pinched thing but more like a fried pocket STUFFED with 2x's the crab mixture. They had the hot mustard (yes!) and sweet & sour sauce + soy at every table. I got beef SUBGUM chow mien and served with the real classic round 1/16" diameter chow mien noodles and not the flat fried Fritos corn chip variety. It was not overcooked but had crunchy celery and water chestnuts and the flavor that I remember from my first Chinese food experiences at the Mandarin Inn in Indianapolis. We had leftovers and they packaged it in the classic Chinese take-out boxes in a brown paper sack with the top crimped in something akin to origami (I know that's Japanese). Acceptably clean, wonderful staff, good atmosphere. Yes, do bring cash. I only wish we had a China Lane in Indianapolis because it would be my go-to for Chinese food.

China Lane USED to be the best, until they switched management and the cooks. The food doesn't taste the same even though they said they were using the same recipes. Food lacks flavor now. It's still better then other local places, just not as good as they used to be.

Good food. Good service. Enjoyed dinner of vegetable rice noodles and a vegetable egg roll. HUGE portions. Very light and fresh and not overly sauced. If you don't have cash, you will pay a $1 fee on your credit card.

The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they don't take credit cards. Cash only. My boyfriend ordered hot tea and they brought him his own kettle. When our food came to us, we were shocked. The portions were huge! We each took some of the other's entree and both had leftovers for lunch the next day. Delicious!

Food and service are always very good. Very enjoyable! Great menu, something for everyone. We ordered the Pearls of Seven Seas and the China Lane Special. Both were excellent.

We really enjoy this restaurant. It's family owned and operated. It's fun to talk to the owners about their decision to leave Chicago and move to Logansport. We like the pot stickers and the Szechwan dishes. I also really like the egg Foo young.

Probably the best Sweet and Sour Chicken I have ever had. Who knew?! They don't take credit cards, but this is GOOD Chinese-American food! I eat here every trip through.

Amazing food! I've never once had a bad meal here. (Just long waits on weekends) Absolutely LOVE their Crab Meat Delights, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, and Egg Rolls!!! I crave their food!

An experience which dulls over time. I have eaten here numerous times, whether it be with parents, with friends, with a girlfriend, or some combination of those. The first time was very good, likely because I had never been there before. However, after several visits, my experiences have slid into the decidedly average range. The food there is fresh and made to order - the Crab Rangoons in particular are always hot and fresh, straight out of the fryer - but there really isn't anything on the menu that any Chinese place worth its salt wouldn't have. Price-wise, China Lane is affordable, and the meal is well-worth the money spent. A word of caution, however: for whatever reason, China Lane does not accept Credit Cards (and I haven't the faintest idea what that reason is). Either bring cash or a check if you want to eat here. China Lane's atmosphere is where it loses the most points in my opinion. The walls are covered in the traditional Chinese restaurant decorations: paintings, artwork, and quasi-Chinese artifacts. However, those aren't the first things you notice when you walk in the door. Right away, you will notice that the dining room is small, cramped, and noisy. It feels like there are about a half-dozen too many tables stuffed into this space, and there is simply nowhere for the sound of that many patrons to go. Overall, China Lane is an average-to-above-average Chinese restaurant. As far as Logansport goes, China Lane is one of the better places in town, yet it pales in comparison to other Chinese restaurants at which I have eaten. You will get a decent meal at a decent price if you eat here, but don't expect miracles and do bring cash.

Tried it twice because I didn't care for it the first time - not authentic Chinese, too Americanized - second time I thought the waitress was rude since there was only one table seated and we wanted a larger table for our group of 5. Then waited while waitress chatted with the seated table - no menu for 5 minutes, then walked past us to the kitchen - returned to seated table and ignored us. We got up and left - never to return.

General Tso's Chicken and the Egg Rolls. Doesn't get any better than this!

Fantastic chicken fried rice, but the kung pao chicken is not so great. Careful, though, they don't accept credit cards, so bring plenty of cash.

Probably one of the best Chinese places I have ever come across. My husband's entire family adores this place. We drive about 40 minutes just to get there. But it is completely worth it! The egg rolls are wonderful, specials are always delicious, and the owners and waiters are always polite and friendly. If I lived closer, I am sure I would be in China Lane for lunch a few times a week.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
