Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Do not miss A&I's Sport Bar if you're anywhere near Logansport, IN. Absolutely fantastic crawfish appetizer. This is a local bar with an amazing menu. Amelio's & Ike's btw is the real name of the place. Never judge a book by it's cover - the food here is several notches what you would expect from looking at the place. A great selection (62 I believe) of cold beer, including Shiner Bock, a Texas staple. Five Stars plus - don't miss these: Ike's Chips Fried Blue Cheese Olives Fried Pickles Ike's Bango Crawfish Cheeseburger Also on the menu but didn't get a chance to try: Mel's Fried Shrimp Alfredo Grilled Mesquite Meatloaf Amelio's Meatball Sandwich Angie's Chicken or Tuna Salad The menu is very eclectic with something for everyone from italian to mexican to continental. They take the time to do it right. They're open until midnight everynight and 3AM on Fridays and Saturdays. Also provide free Wi Fi. ameliosandikes.com

What on earth happened to this place?!? My girlfriend and I visited this location 4 times over the past calendar year. Amelio's used to be one of our favorite restaurants and was even the site of our first date. Unfortunately, from that moment, this restaurant entered a slow decline that eventually turned into a full-fledged nosedive. The end result of that nosedive occurred tonight, with one of the worst restaurant experiences that either myself or my girlfriend have ever had the displeasure to encounter. Let's go back to the state of Amelio's one year to the day - July 26, 2013. My girlfriend and I met here for our first date, and we had a lovely meal. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Three months later, we came back for lunch, and the meal was slightly disappointing - the service was still fine, but the food was not as good as it could have been. However, we chalked this up to the fact that it was lunchtime, and dinner services are almost always better. Fast forward to the beginning of December 2013. We decide to go here on a whim, and were annoyed at the quality of our experience. The service was slow and inattentive, and the food was simply awful. My girlfriend's chicken fettuccine alfredo was bland and utterly tasteless, while my steak was dreadfully undercooked. I ordered the steak medium-rare, and it arrived to the table seared on the outside and completely raw in the middle and cold to the touch. I brought this to the waitress' attention, and she brought the steak back to the kitchen to be refired. When the steak came back out, the result was exactly the same; the steak was seared on the outside, and raw and cool to the touch on the inside. I was upset at this development; this is a place that had developed a reputation with me for serving very good steaks, and even advertised themselves that way (best steaks in Indiana!). However, over the course of 5 months, the kitchen had somehow completely forgotten how to cook a steak. And that brings us to tonight. For our 1-year anniversary, I felt that recreating our first date would make a rather romantic gesture; this included a return trip to Amelio's. I had optimistically hoped that the incident in December was a one-off occasion - perhaps the kitchen had a bad night or something. Unfortunately, there were bad signs from the beginning, and the evening never improved. Bad sign #1: There was a sign outside the door saying "Lots of Changes!" Bad sign #2: Apart from one large party in the dining, the restaurant and bar were empty on a Saturday night. Bad sign #3: I had called ahead and made a reservation, and they kept our reservation. Unfortunately, they put our table right next to the very large party in the dining room when there were other seats available. We sat down and placed our drink orders; my girlfriend got a lemonade, and I ordered a beer. We then waited 10 full minutes to receive our drinks. Why? I honestly have no idea. After that, we placed our appetizer order, and waited another 15 minutes to receive that. However, had we known what we were about to receive, we should have been grateful that we were spared for that long. For our appetizer, my girlfriend and I ordered the Greek Flatbread Pizza. This dish is described as Olives, Tomatoes, Feta Cheese, and Basil on a piece of flatbread with a couple pieces of Fried Okra as a garnish. That sounded like it could be delicious, and with minimal effort it could have been. Instead, we received flatbread that clearly had been frozen and defrosted (poorly), olives that tasted as though they came from a can and weren't drained properly, Feta Cheese that had no taste to it, and far too much Olive Oil. My girlfriend and I each took one bite, and one bite was more than enough. In an effort to salvage the situation, I tried one of the pieces of fried okra, only to have it "vomit" in my mouth. I am not even exaggerating that much; when it bit into the fried okra, it squirted a considerable about of what I can only describe as okra goo into my mouth. I was forced to spit said fried okra out. At this point, my girlfriend and I had enough. The service had been ridiculously slow, the food was awful, and neither of us had any desire to see how badly our entrees would be mangled. We both walked out of the restaurant without another word. To that end, I can only say this. Tonight's meal was some combination of disappointing, infuriating, frustrating, and disgusting. The service was poor, and the food was inedible. When I compare this restaurant to what it was even a year ago, I am forced to shake my head in disgust. Perhaps as a bar Amelio's is still adequate; as a restaurant, do not waste your time and money.

I usually only give 5 star review to only one Bar/Restaurant in each town that me and my staff members try out. So, Amelio's in Logansport gets this one. They are a "real" fully stocked Bar as well as a very nice restaurant that has an amazingly large Menu for a Bar & Grill. The food that we all shared was amazing and cooked to perfection. The owner, as well as the staff, were all very polite and helpful with suggestions from the bar and the food menu. We will return again and again.

By far the best bar-find of my brief pass through L-port. And unlike a lot of other watering holes listed on yelp for this city (eg, "Amber's Dining Room & Cocktail Lounge"; "Russow's Restaurant & Danny's Lounge"), Amelio's has the distinct advantage of still being open for business. (And as it's the oldest bar in Logansport, that's not likely to change.) I didn't try the food, but the menu looks good and extensive. Top that off with a friendly staff, a beautiful location (across from a park on the river) and at least one very fine beer (Bell's Two-Hearted) on tap, and we have the makings of a winner. (Indeed, if I had the chance to try the food, I might be inclined to give it the coveted 5th star. Oh well ... yet another reason to go again!)

Overall I wasn't blown away but for Logansport it is one of the few places I will go.

I stopped in here as I was staying the night at a motel in town. They've got a pretty decent beer selection and the menu looks nice too. I had the Stone Ruination, which is one of my favorites, then I noticed they had big bottles of Tripel Karmeliet - which might have my vote for best beer of all time. I decided I better eat, so I ordered the calamari appetizer with some sort of spicy sauce - this was pretty good, and if I ever pass through the area again, this is where I will eat dinner. The prices seemed slightly higher than average for a small town bar. The tripel was $16!

I love Amelio's & Ike's!! This place has really changed in the last couple years, it just keeps getting better and better!! They serve the best steak in the area, also a great go to meal is the Pork filet. My husband loves all the beer choices, now on tap Gumball Head and any beer lover will tell you that is not an easy find!! My personal favorite are the signature Martinis. I end my evenings with a Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake, they have so many to choose from...
