Couldn't have been more disappointed. In 3 weeks advance I made a reservation for my graduation dinner. We waited to be seated for 25 minutes and I even called around to see if anyone else would sets our party. The manager loudly asked her servers if we were the wrong party. Thank goodness our server was nice or else we would have seriously complained. I do not recommend any important events here.

This restaurant was pretty good especially for being connected to a Holiday Inn! I had the goat cheese & pesto pizza w a cup of zucchini soup which I thought wouid be very delish. The soup was bland - I would not suggest it. The pizza was great! It had an abundance of goat cheese, caramelized onion, red peppers, pine nuts, & pesto sauce. The servers were attentive & start u w fresh bread & olive oil for dipping.

I ordered the chicken Parmesan about 20 minutes before they closed (even though he kitchen would be open for another hour to serve the bar area). The meal came with Italian wedding soup which was fair. Warm bread came with a plate with olive oil and pepper (not freshly ground pepper). The bread also came with the stale crusty piece leftover from lunch. I cut the chicken and found it wasn't cooked all the way through. I sent it back. The waiter said he would serve me a free desert. When I got the chicken back, it was still not fully cooked. I wasn't going ask again. The spaghetti it was served on was also subpar. It's frustrating when you've been traveling all day, arrive at the hotel hungry, the only dining option at 9:40pm is the restaurant in the hotel and they can't get a meal right. The manager on duty was embarrassed and apologetic.

Probably the best Italian in the Lafayette area. The food was very good as well as the service. The restaurant was very well maintained. The portions teeter on the small side and the prices on the higher end but the food is delicious.

Worst attempt at food in Lafayette. Pasta was crap, sauce was crap, service was crap, drinks were crap...shall I keep going? Ok...the fat slob bartender was so busy texting and watching mindless basketball that half the time I didn't even think he was an employee. Perhaps he was pretending this was his job. Oh, but he always addressed me as "sir." That makes everything OK. Don't waste your time. A couple blocks over there is amazing places. The hotel is a better than average holiday inn though. Just a very bad restaurant. I've never actually eaten a good meal at a restaurant adjoined to a hotel. I travel a lot too.

Service was ok. Our server was friendly enough, but seemed new and just very awkward. The guy who brought our wine over was great and asked my boyfriend about his food and why he hadn't eaten it and offered to get him something else. Now to the food. I had ravioli and it was good, but nothing exciting. I could have made the same thing at home. My boyfriend got a fettucini dish that apparently had gorgonzola cheese in the alfredo. When it came out the sauce just tasted rancid. The bartender when told we didn't like it seemed like this was common. He got him a replacement plain feticini alfredo which was really nice of him, but the server never made mention of the fact we sent it back, and no manager to come over and talk to us about it. Just not what I would expect from a nicer restaurant. I wouldn't go back anytime soon.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
