Really 3.5 stars. Good food, good service. Overpriced (3.99 for a little salad alongside my $13 main course?) I came because it was next to my hotel. I probably would not come back if I had to drive at all.

Passing through Lafayette on a road trip lately and we needed a lunch spot. Decided to try this place since it wasn't a chain, at least not one we'd been to. The menu was good - nice lunch menu with several inexpensive options to choose from. They bring you warm bread and oil right away, which was nice. I had the penna alla vodka and it was delicious. Also, under $7 which is pretty great for a very filling lunch. Service was friendly and knowledgable, although my plate was taken away before I was actually finished. I wanted to mop up every last bit of delicious sauce with the bread left on the table, but the waiter grabbed my plate and took off. The restaurant itself is kind of dark, and we were seated in a booth with a large wood shelf dividing us from the next set of booths - it was covered in dust and large dust bunnies...kind of gross, especially considering it was right at eye level. The place could use a good cleaning. Overall, decent food, good prices, bland atmosphere.

The food is atrocious. Maybe it's because my mom is from Italy. .but this was on parr with Chef Boyardee. The waiter knew it too..joked about it and never did anything to rectify the situation. We ordered desert to maybe make up for the strange orange sauce on my shrimp ravioli. .yeah well i ended up with a weird pink pepto colored raspberry sherbet on top of the cheesecake and stale cannoli. (this was after waiting 20 min for dessert. .i think they were milking the cow or picking the frozen raspberries ) in the future if I'm going to pay 120.00 for a meal I'll find a Carrabas. Frankly McDonalds has better food and service.

This place is one of my favorites in the Lafayette area. It's #2 on my list of Italian restaurants around here. This place is a chain and La Scala is more authentic so it's not #1. However, this place is much more family friendly than La Scala and a better choice for a casual dinner. Prices are on par with other Italian chains (i.e. Olive Garden, etc.) but the food here is much better. To be honest, I don't consider Olive Garden to be truly Italian. For the price, you get a lot here. They start you out with a loaf of home-made bread paired with their dipping oil. Their dipping oil is comprised of good seasoning and they mix it with roasted garlic which is delectable when paired with their bread. I would come here just for this. But the entrees are also good. The portions are huge and, no matter how hungry you are, you will most likely be taking home some leftovers. I generally have enough for at least another full meal. My favorites are the Chicken Parm, shrimp carbonara, and tri-colored tortellini. However, they have a large selection apart from these three. Every time I've been here, the wait staff has always been nice and the service always punctual. We also had a birthday party here for a family member and they were good about taking the cake and keeping it cool in their refrigerator until we were ready for it. I would recommend this place for those looking for a reasonably priced Italian dinner and want much better food than what you will find at Olive Garden or similar establishments. It is also much more family friendly than some of the nicer Italian restaurants and better for groups. That being said, it isn't quite as intimate as somewhere like La Scala. I encourage you to try this place the next time you crave good-quality Italian cuisine and don't want to drive to the Italian neighborhoods of St. Louis or Chicago.

I usually prefer Olive Garden but there are still times I go with Spageddies and the place is also delicious. They bring you out fresh bread and great olive oil to dip it in. I am not a fan of some of the dishes but the cheese ravioli is delicious. They have really good deals throughout the week including wine deals on Wednesdays.

We were looking for a place to stop for lunch on a car trip from Columbus, OH to Chicago. We love Italian food so we stopped here. It was 1:00pm on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. We liked the interior of the restaurant. A nice, casual, family atmosphere. We had the spaghetti marinara and the steak pizziaola. The warm loaf of bread at the beginning of the meal was wonderful. The waiter puts down a small plate of it looked like fried garlic and then he adds olive oil to the plate. My husband loved his spaghetti marinara. The serving size was good. It was enough to fill him up without having so much left over you could feed the rest of the family. My steak pizziaola was good also. Serve was efficient and friendly.

Ahhhh Spageddies...you screwed yourself over the first time we visited you. Our waitress took forever to get our drinks to us and take our order. We waited, and waited, and waited. She comes back about a half hour later and asks us what we wanted again because she forgot to put in our freaking order! We should've just got up and left right then or spoken to a manager (hubby doesn't like it when I go bitch on ppl), but we stayed. Took forever to get our food and then it wasn't even worth the wait. Won't be going back here again.

I really like the Papa's Salad here which comes in extra small (which isn't on the menu), small, and large sizes. The small is a good size for 2 or 3 people to share with other food. The margherita pizza is also good. Our server was very friendly and our food arrived quickly.

This is really my go-to Italian place around Lafayette. The service is always acceptable, if not great, the food is always delicious, and the bread is simply fantastic. Prices are relatively reasonable, for Italian, as well, especially considering portion sizes. If you're looking for a delicious place to have Italian, look no further.

Good food, 3 people ordering calamari, drinks, and 2 dishes of seafood ended up costing 63 dollars with tip. The bread was the typical italian fare, and it was pretty good in general.

Honestly, I prefer the OG to Spageddies - mostly because of the price. The entrees are basically the same price, but at least you get unlimited bread and soup/salad at the OG. There's nothing really wrong with Spageddies. Although, they did leave the sticker on the lemon in my water, which was pretty gross. Overall, the food is alright. I've just experienced better for this type of restaurant. They should consider adding balsalmic vinegar to their olive oil for dipping the bread. I should have known Spageddies was pretty unremarkable considering this place hardly has any cars in its parking lot even on weekends. Oh well, live and learn.

Amazing bread with olive oil to start with, decent service, otherwise not particularly spectacular. If standardized mass produced Italian food is your thing, then Olive Garden is a much better choice. The food is not particularly bad but it tastes like a more sophisticated version of Fazolis. The wait for dinner and lunch can be a while; you're really better off not shelling out the time with your money.

I have been dragged to this place a couple of times. The other Italian place across the street is too busy and gives such poor service, so we have switched to spageddies. Im slightly surprised by the great reviews it has received here. I found it to be mediocre at best. Everything I have ordered has been literally drenched with oil. It also seems overpriced. The pricing was what I would expect at a fine dining restaurant, however spageddies is not fine dining. Spageddies is a place that brings your breadsticks to your table in a paper bag - just like in a fastfood pizzaria. The tables are covered with paper and you're provided with crayons to draw on the paper. None of that is a problem for me, but the point is: the atmosphere isn't classy or romantic or special in any way. With that being said, spageddies is not bad. It's average. If the price didnt come out to over $20 per person, I might even say it was good. The thing that ultimately hurts the overall price of the meal is the fact that nothing is included. Most italian places give you free salad or free soup or both. Spageddies' system treats salad, soup, etc as appetizers that you order and share with the table.... and they arent cheap. Again, Spageddies is an average restaurant. I really dont understand how Lafayette can sustain so many mediocre chain restaurants.

My friend brought me here because I wanted something new. First visit. Walked in hour before they closed and it was almost empty inside. There was one other table besides us. I ordered a glass of white wine and rushed through their menu. Linguini Pescatore (Sorry for misspelling) was my pick. It was wonderful. Had enough for 3 meals! Server was very nice too. Second visit! While visiting Lafayette few months later, I HAD to stop by here so I begged my friend to take me here again before I left town. Sunday afternoon and just in time for graduation. It was packed!! And lots of large group. My server had few tables plus party of 12. She was super attentive throughout the meal (never an empty glass of soda) and very friendly. I got the same dish (seafood pasta) Just as good as the first time. I can't wait for next visit!!

Spageddies is perfect places to take your family or friends for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is quite spacious for it seats plenty but you could put in a reservation if you wish. The decor is quite warm and friendly, not fancy but very family friendly. So I'd steer clear if you're hoping for a fancier, romantic evening dinner location. Lets talk meal and menu. The menu is quite comprehensive with a wide range of pricing options. You don't have to wait long before a server is coming to plate your table with fresh bread and olive oil, very yummy! If you're worried about a budget they offer $12 meals selection if I remember correctly. I've dinned here twice or three times now and was pleased with my experience every time. Better than going to the Olive Garden near by. Their meals can be quite large so expect to need a take home box. The food is good. You surely get the bang for your buck with average service staff.

This restaurant used to be one of our favorite places to eat. The bread and garlic oil dip is outstanding. The food is usually hot and very well seasoned. Service is sometimes slow. As a customer, you need to be very careful about ordering one of their week day specials. We ended up paying twice the amount for our lunch because of poor wording about the daily special and a waitress who did not inform us. When we complained about the bill, the kitchen manager told us it was our fault. Sorry, we won't be back with this poor service.

Great bread. Ordered the appetizer trio and the bruschetta was wonderful! Also ordered the 4 seasons pizza and it was very good. My husband and I shared and it was the perfect amount. Plus Matthew was a great server--attentive enough but not over bearing. I would recommend.

I'm only giving 2 stars because our server was very nice and attentive and the bread & oil were tasty. Other than that, the experience was less than stellar. I got the wild mushroom pasta - which only contained button mushrooms (not the variety that was promised in the menu). The cream sauce was very, very, very thin and watery. The whole dish lacked seasoning. My husband got manicotti and it was okay. Our daughter had pizza but didn't eat much of it. I don't think we will go back - we could have had the same food at Fazoli's for half the cost.

Long considered one of the best places to take your (Purdue) date for dinner, Spageddies just didn't sit right with me. Part of my so-so experience could be attributed to the time of dining (9:30pm on a Saturday). Our waiter--although nice--appeared pretty burnt out, as we were no doubt his last customers at the tail end of a long day. The service was okay until it came very near to their 11pm closing time, so we're looking to cash out but he was nowhere to be found. My date finally sees him across the restaurant.....replenishing the olive oil bottles. Truthfully, it looked more like he was pouring them back and forth (to get them all at equal fill level), but I think he forgot about his last and only customers until I finally flagged him down. Again, he was likely fried from a lengthy shift so I'm willing to cut him a bit of slack. The food quality was fine--I had the salmon and shrimp ravioli, while my girl enjoyed her fishy dish, and we pronounced them both good--but the value was a MAJOR bummer. Everything here is a-la-carte. Everything. So even though we both ordered entrees ($19+), neither came with soup, a salad or even a choice of veggie. I can't recall the last time I had Italian where this was the case; I always look forward to the soup/salad course, but there was no way I'd be shelling out an extra $4-5 per person for that here. For a Carrabba's knock-off (or is it the other way around?), I was totally underwhelmed. Decent menu items, but mediocre service and astonishingly poor value seal their 3* fate.

Lived in Lafayette for 10 years but never tried this place. Decided to go on a Saturday at lunch with the buy one get one free coupon. We were seated and given menus. Then we waited. More people were seated after us. Those people were given bread and had their orders taken. We waited about 15 minutes and were never approached by anyone. We decided to leave and take our business elsewhere as we definitely didn't want to spend hours waiting for lunch. Won't go back.

Their bread is great, but entrees are not always good. Chicken marsala is okay but pizzas are really bad...(maybe I should say disgusting..) Yes, it overprices a little in dinner, but their lunch menu is a steal. It always distributes BOGO coupons to local addresses(inside redplum). Give them a try when you get the coupons. ç»™3åˆ†çš„åŽŸå› å°±æ˜¯å› ä¸ºæœ‰ä¹°ä¸€èµ ä¸€çš„å“胖,éžå¸¸çš„值。但是如果没有å“胖确实有点贵,而且味é“一般。。 我一个人去åƒä¹°ä¸€èµ 一也是蛮拼的,注å¤ä¸€ç”Ÿçš„节å¥ä¹ˆã€‚。

TLDR: bad waitress, melted ice cream, dirty utensils, lukewarm food. Decent atmosphere. When we ordered appetizers, the food took a long time to arrive, and when it did, it was cold. When the main course came, it was warm, thankfully. One of my forks had old Alfredo on it. Later, when we ordered dessert, the ice cream we ordered was warm and watery. The lighting and music choice was as good as one could expect though, so plus one star for that.

I have no clue what the other reviewers were thinking. Maybe I just came on the couple bad days. I have lived in this town for quite a while, and it appalls me that this place is rated higher than other, much better places in town. Their prices aren't great, and the food reminds me of microwaved pseudo-Italian. The only thing that is semi-decent is the bread and olive oil they give you to start out with. Everything goes downhill from there, though. I'd much rather be at olive garden, if I had to choose this type of place. If it was up to me, avoid this place like the plague.

This place is GREAT! Especially, when considering the neighboring options. You can laugh at the people across the street (Olive Garden) when you are enjoying your more authentic Italian food. The staff seems like family and the food is phenomenal. Dont fill up on the bread, because the food portions are large. One suggestion, share a "Papa's House Salad" the sweet vinaigrette is yummy. One word of caution, if there is a major sporting event (aka Purdue basketball/football) avoid Lafayette altogether! Otherwise, pop into this Italian eatery, you wont regret it.. Did i mention this restaurant has numerous AAA awards for excellent service? GOOOOOO! EAT and be HAPPY.

I really like Spagheddies. It's got a comfortable atmosphere, lots of menu options and pretty good prices. They have a good selection of seafood entrees, which is what I typically go for. I don't think I'd call this "authentic Italian" by any means, but that doesn't mean it's not good. I can't remember ever having bad service here, and it's always been a great place to go for family or work lunches and dinners.

Great, hearty, tasty, comfortable Sunday lunch. Thanks for the tip on not filling up on the bread and splitting the Papa's House Salad. It took a lot of self control, but we do so, and loved every minute of it. Our lunches were good, but we agreed that the bread and salad really made the meal. We left with 2 bottles of the house dressing (Sweet Basil Vinaigrette) and left over tricolor tortellini for later. 7 hours later, I'm still full. Next time we are in Lafayette, we will make this our dinner or lunch stop and look forward to it. Tip: they have 3 great week night drink specials that would make it worth the trip.

Mistake #1: Going at dinnertime Mistake #2: Ordering seafood Mistake #3: Not just waiting at Olive Garden (or checking Yelp first) My bread wasn't done - the server was very nice about it, but it was completely doughy. The roasted garlic was chewy, not crunchy and the flavored oil didn't seem very flavorful. I didn't expect the calamari to be fresh, but I did think it should be crispy, well-seasoned and reasonably good. It wasn't any of that. The accompanying sauce was broken and, though it didn't taste bad, suspiciously watery. The linguine was mediocre (a little overcooked, too), but the shrimp was terribly overcooked. Mussels were just a bad idea. Period. Service was efficient and friendly, but the food? Fazoli's is better tasting, and much cheaper. As far the person who said the food here is authentic...NOT.

This place only gets two stars because our server, she was excellent. The food on the other hand, not so much. I ordered calamari for an appetizer, and it arrived cold and rubbery. Hubby love got the Alfredo, and I took it as a bad sign in that he kept talking about all the awesome fettuccine Alfredo he has elsewhere. I got the chicken scaloppini, the dish was okay but seemed confused. There was three biggish slices of chicken over angel hair pasta topped with diced tomatoes and bacon. It was like a scaloppini that was trying to be a carbonara.

I pick this place because I am staying at the hotel next door. I was pleasantly surprised by my entire experience. I was seated quickly on a slow Monday evening. I didn't even have to look at the menu my waiter suggested the lasagna special. I almost always order what the staff suggest. My iced tea never went dry and even got a free to go iced tea too! My meal came with a huge Caesar salad, nothing too special, it was good. My lasagna was huge, probably 8" long 4" wide and 2" tall. So good! I had to get it to go I couldn't eat it all. I would recommend Spageddies to anyone in the area, especially if it's Monday for their lasagna special.

An Italian restaurant that uses either fake or really cheap mozzarella and expects you to pay $10 for a chicken parmesan... The chicken was cooked well but the mozzarella had almost disappeared by the time I got my food. The chicken was served over tasteless and overcooked spaghetti. Believe it or not this wasn't the worst part. We ordered fried calamari. Obviously frozen, pieces of calamari and chunks of breading clumped together and fried while still frozen... I don't expect decent sea food here in Lafayette and I could have overlooked this if it weren't for the fact they were undercook.... First and last time I eat from this place. Bread was good though.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Long waits: in the time I ate here, seed was purchased , planted, grown, harvested, processed, packaged, purchased, delivered, cooked and then served to us.

Went to celebrate our anniversary and it was a great experience. Nice ambiance, great food, great prices. Will go again.

We stopped here due to a friend recommendation. The food is good. I would return.

I miss Pete Circle who was a great manager for many years. It's just not the same now.

generous portions, prompt service, quality food + coupon cheese ravioli, short ribs (so tender!), chocolate cake w/ vanilla ice cream the fresh-baked bread w/ dipping oil w/ garlic was superb! everything was delicious. we will be back.
