Awesome beers, great people. Getting growlers on Wednesday for 6 dollars is amazing. People's Pilsner is probably the best Pilsner I've ever had.

Have not been to the tasting room, nor have I tried the styles other than the IPA, so I will update this review accordingly as I continue to acquaint myself with everything People's related. That said, the IPA is truly an exceptional beer. One of the best IPAs I've ever had. It is very similar to Bell's Two-Hearted Ale, which is in my opinion the best high-powered IPA money can buy (some consider THA a double-IPA, but I think it's a bit tame compared to most of the stuff in that category, to say nothing of the triple IPAs). And, the fact that you can go to the brewery and fill up a growler for 4 bucks on Sundays is nothing short of FANFUCKINGTASTIC!! Well done, guys. You truly are a brewery by, for, and of the people!

People's Brewing Company is our local brewery. The beer is good, the people rock, and there's always good conversation at the bar. Keep in mind, People's is NOT a brewpub - it's a production brewery with a tap/tasting room. You can go and drink a pint or 10, get growlers and/or kegs filled, and hang out and talk. They have the legally-required-to-be-available food in the form of frozen/microwavable stuff, but there's no menu for it, and honestly, no one mentions it. It's a silly law anyway. All their beers are kick-ass. Mr. Brown, Trent Pale Ale, and Maltster have been my favorites. The Je-, er, I mean Amazon Princess IPA is also stellar. People's doesn't brew bad beer. It's not possible. Chris, Jessica, Abel, B, Sean, and Danyel are all awesome people and no matter which of them you run into, you'll see what I mean. :)

I first tried their beer at Nine Irish and found it to be delicious. So my fiance and I went and visited the tap room for something to do one weekend. They had some board games in the corner, so we sat and played some Scrabble while enjoying a couple beers. We've gone back and gotten growlers and every beer I've tried, I've liked. If you like beer, it's definitely worth going.

Came here with hopes of finding a cool small brewery and I was surprised. This is literally inside a warehouse, although they put up a wall, a couple doors, and a few tables. Beer is exceptional! They do not have food however since they are currently brewing their pumpkin beer they made roasted pumpkin seeds to give away. I will definitely come back next time I am in the area!

Awesome local brewery! Went on a tour (offered Saturday's from 12-4) with Amy who was so friendly and knowledgeable about the brewery and the beer making process. We got to drink our beers while on the tour and although their facility is small compared to bigger breweries, it is very clean, modern, and homey. Great beer, great atmosphere, and great family feel. Definitely recommend to any beer lovers!!

Delicious beer, great prices, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a sweet atmosphere. What more could you ask of a place you want to stop and get a beer on a patio? I always love stopping in here when I am in town.

I'm not a huge beer person and they don't have ciders. But my friend loved their IPAs. Everyone was nice and the place is very chill.

Some of my friends are regulars here and I tagged along with them recently to see what People's had to offer. The location is a little out of the way and there isn't a lot of parking, but it's worth that hassle in my opinion. The place is nothing flashy, but it's comfortable and has plenty of tables to accommodate quite a few people. We were there on a Thursday for $3 pints, which I think is a pretty great deal. Their selection is fairly large and diverse. I tried a few I'd never had before along with another I was familiar with and they were all very good. Our server was also great and helped make suggestions for me since I'd never been there before. Overall, it was a really good time. I liked all the beers, the atmosphere was fun and friendly, and the service excellent. What more is there to ask for?

People's is the best beer in Tippecanoe County and maybe top five in Indiana. Reasons to come here also include discounted growler fills on Wednesday and $3 pints on Thursday. Most of the bar staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the product. The owner is visible and gives tours of the production area. The tap room is clean but nothing special, it's a converted warehouse with some tables, chairs and stools, and some basic decorations. At People's, it's about the beer and people, literally. There is a good mix of people here and everyone seems friendly, from the regulars to the chance visitors. There is usually a food truck in the parking lot on Thursdays after 6pm. Yes it would be nice if People's served food besides pretzels, but then your pints would cost more. The beer selection varies during the year and seasons. Like most craft breweries, they focus on hoppy beers but there is a selection of milder beers with less than 35 IBU for those that prefer tasting something besides hops. Usually two options offered on a nitro pour. I've tried most of the beers, overall favorite is Sgt. Bravo. They have something for everyone. Parking is slightly challenging with a small lot, no street parking, and access only from the southbound lanes of Ninth Street. After 5pm the lot next door is available. Look for the People's logo on the big warehouse door. The tap room is just south of the tall antenna mast.

People's is definitely something Lafayette has needed for a long time. Although the location is a little out of the way, the quality of the brew makes up for it. Ben is an amazing bartender, very considerate and knowledgeable.

I really like People's. The atmosphere is simple, yet appropriate and the beer is well crafted.Their stouts are my absolute favorite. If it didn't close so flipping early it would be rated five stars easily. If you don't like People's then you just don't like beer... or you are from St.Louis and are hooked on Budweiser products.

This is the best beer I've been able to find. Period. The community is great. It's the only bar I've been to which encourages conversation amongst strangers. I like that there is no TV. It's a great place to simply enjoy a good beer, especially in the summer when the bay doors are open. My only complaint is that they don't have a kitchen, but you can always bring in your own food.

Crazy good brewery from our own Lafayette, IN. The story I've heard is that the owner used to work for the BrewCo and decided he could do better. Whether it's true or not I'm definitely glad people's exists. Their beer is starting to get more and more popular in the area and is now sold in many of the bars (yay! Go people's!) we've even taken some back home to Maryland because it's really worth sharing. The brewery is on North 9th and really easy to miss. Very unpretentious and small bar area inside of the brewery. Sometimes they have live music going on. As with BrewCO you may buy a growler and refill for a cheaper price. I definitely recommend the pilsner and farmer's daughter (wheat) which are my favorite but I don't go for very hoppy beers. As far as I know they still don't serve food (just pretzels) but I think that's supposed to change soon so we'll see (although I'm pretty sure I've seen the emergency food truck out there too).

I just visited one of my friend's at Purdue and was taken to People's, and I am so glad she took me there! The craft beer choices are really cool, and I loved that we were allowed to try the different beers before we ordered a pint. It made me feel like I knew what I was getting into instead of going into the unknown when ordering a beer. I tried a few, and settled on the Nitro Mr. Brown. I would highly recommend Mr. Brown in both its Nitro and normal versions. So yummy! They almost reminded me of Guinness. The atmosphere at People's is very chill and the fact that it is in a garage adds to the vibe of the place. They also give you a nice sized thing of pretzels to snack on while you relax and drink beer with friends. I loved People's, and think that anyone who ends up in the area should stop by and try their beer.

perfect little brewery with a great crowd & staff. the beer is tremendous and the atmosphere is very relaxed. located in a warehouse, the front garage door open to bring in fresh air. several high & low tables with a small little bar with 4-5 stools in the back near the packaging/brewery area. nothing special about the place, but it's welcoming. beer signs & growlers decorate the walls. it's really the beer that makes people's great. plus their cans are cool as hell. love how they open.

This is a great micro brewery in Lafayette. It is not a brewpub, but just a taproom. The beer is pretty good. They bring big flavors, both hops and malts. Hop Heads can rejoice in their Mound Builder. Malt fans can enjoy a Mr. Brown. I love the blue collar feel of the joint. You know it's going to be a good beer experience when it looks like you are walking into a warehouse :)

I'm not sure why "People's" is the chosen name. No one in the place was friendly, helpful, or even remotely interesting. When I walked in, the guy behind the bar just looked at me. No "hello" or "can I help you" or greeting of any kind. It was kind of weird and stilted, but I just figured he is the socially awkward type. He asked what kind of beer I wanted, and I said I'd never tried People's before and could he tell me about their selection. He answered my question with a question, which is a pet peeve of mine. "What kind of beer do you like?" Well, I like a lot of things, so just tell me about your beers on tap. All he did was read off the names of the beers and tell me which ones were most popular. Not helpful. Maybe I was already grumpy because this place is really, REALLY difficult to find, but I was determined because I've heard so many great things about it. Anyway, after the mouth-breather behind the bar served up my beer, I listened to a conversation between another patron (obviously a regular) and an employee (definitely one of the brewers and probably a front-of-house manager, too). She went on and on about how she hates people, everyone annoys her, she wants to do all the hiring herself, she doesn't want to make small talk with customers, she'd rather not talk to anyone at any time, etc. This is when I really started to question the name of the establishment. Anyway, I finished my brew, which wasn't very memorable, and ordered a growler to go. Also not so memorable. Normally I would give a place like this 2 stars instead of 3, but there was one redeeming quality...they had some kind of partnership with a food truck which was parked out front. Every delicious smell coming from this tiny truck was amazing. People's Brewing must be doing something right if a truck like this wants to partner with them. I definitely won't go out of my way to visit the tasting room again, and the beer itself isn't spectacular enough to seek out at a bar or liquor store. There are other craft beer establishments out there...keep driving.

Every time I'm in Lafayette I make sure to stop by and grab a beer or Growler. Its awesome beer and its all I drink when I visit Indiana. I brought 2 growlers of Mount Builder back with me to Los Angeles and drank it with some friends. They all loved it! Got to grab a T-shirt next time. I always say that but end up buying more beer instead.

This brewery rocks! If you are a beer snob, you will like this place. The Nitro-tapped Moundbuilder is a velvety smooth precise work of art. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the beer they serve and beer in general. The tap room used to be a warehouse and has a bay door that can be opened in the front. Luckily, the weather was beautiful on Sunday, so we sat by the open door. We chatted with a nice couple at the next table who were also traveling. If you are not from Indiana, beware of archaic state alcohol rules. Only microbreweries serving their own product can serve alcohol on Sundays. We noted that many people bought growlers and cans to take home, because you can't buy alcohol at a store on Sundays either. That's cray cray.

This is a small microbrewery with several great IPA options. They have some other varieties, including a brown, a wheat, esb, etc. but unfortunately those were less flavorful so the IPA's are the way to go. They also do growlers. They don't serve food but they the Emergency Munch Track (EMT) just outside where you could buy food to take in, including some delicious appetizers like mac n cheese bites.

I really like the idea of peoples, and their tap room is nice. They have a lot of beers on tap in the tap room, and you can get their beers on tap or in bottles in many bars and restaurants throughout town. My problem is that despite having a ton of beers, they NEVER have a single beer for people that like a lot of flavor but not a lot of bitterness. They don't make any German-style wheat beers or and Belgian beers whatsoever. They have one American style wheat beer, but it is so flavorless that it basically tastes like a light lager (maybe okay for bud light drinkers, but not for me). They have no beers that have lots of spices and other flavors, so there is not much that I like. They have plenty of beers on tap in the tap room and usually at least 4 of them are IPAs. They usually also have a pale ale, a pilsner, and an Irish red, along with a brown ale. They also close at 8pm, and I don't usually start my drinking that early, so I don't spend much time in the tap room. But, you can buy growlers to go.

I love this place!! Their beers are delicious! They have several beers on tap which is always rotating in new brews. They have live music on Tuesday nights, which is always free! I can't say enough good things about this place!!

Do you like beer? Then you'll like People's Brewing Company. The taproom is friendly, and gets pretty lively in conversation if you're sitting at the bar. Friendly local people and friendly passers-through help make the climate right for relaxing with a pint. Oh but you want to know about the beer? People's has a wide variety of beers - everything from Amazon Princess IPA (a Simcoe hopped beer) to 9 Irish (a superior Irish red) to Notorious BIP (a beautiful black IPA). Special tappings and a nitro tap to showcase some of their beers are a great reason to make a special trip down. Now that they're bottling, People's Pilsner and Mound Builder IPA is available at a growing number of beer stores around Indiana. A lot of restaurants in town also have a People's on tap - many times one that you can't get at the taproom. What a great reason to visit both the 'mothership' and support bars and eateries that have their beer on tap. They're passionate about their beer and friendly as all get-out. If you like good beer and good people, you're a People's people.

My husband and I decided to stop into the People's Brewing Company while heading home to Indianapolis on I-65. Sean (I hope I spelled that right) who was working the bar was awesome. He was super friendly and knew a lot about the beers and the brewery. We tried the IPA and were very impressed. We also sampled the Red and the Maltster; both very good. Their beers tend to be on the hoppier side which we love! The tasting room is small and cozy, only 3-4 tables, and a small bar. Pints are $3.50/ea and samples are $1. Of course they also sell growlers. I encourage locals and travellers alike to stop in and visit this charming brewery.

mound builder- a very impressive beer!

Amazing selection of draft beer! Best beer in Indiana by far!
(5)Xopher D.
Spring's been good to the local brewers, I gather, because the flavors coming out have been very tasty. Farmer's Daughter has been our favorite of late, but I also have very good things to say about the Irish Red and the Trent Pale Ale. All three are less hoppy than previous People's incarnations, but this makes them no less quaffable. This brewery is developing a deft hand with the maltier side of things, and those who have previously complained about too much hops may well find at least one or two varietals that will appeal. Yep -- People's is rockin' this town.

Okay, I was actually a little disappointed with People's and contemplating an update in order to remove one of those well-deserved 5 stars. Let's face it, they promised (in person!) to have a tasting room open by early March -- and despite numerous follow up calls and even visits over the last month, they've still got nothing. No, I'm not stalking them. I just look like I am because I took the owner at his word and made a point of making a visit at a time when he told me they'd be ready. Too bad they're a little flaky: it doesn't bode well for People's or for their chances of success if they're equally flaky with their other clients. But then I went to their website and watched the following video: youtube.com/watch?v=sZjj… It's funny and cool enough to give them back the star they just lost!
(5)Katie B.
I visited the tasting room about a month ago on an impromptu Lafayette beer tour with some friends . Although the beers I tried were good, it's obvious that this is a brewery that's mostly about hops. I have nothing against hops, but my beer tastes just tend not to run that way. However, my hop-loving friends were in heaven. The tasting room atmosphere was cozy and fun. It's a narrow place with just room for a few tables and a bar. The server was very friendly and helpful providing detailed descriptions of the beers and good suggestions.
