My mother would move into Penn Station if they would let her. They grill their meats before throwing them on the sandwich and have fresh cut fries. That seems to be their schticks. I've tried many subs. My favorite is the italian sausage with peppers and onions. I had a club last week and it was just okay. I've never had a bad sandwich, though. I have had a bad glass of lemonade or two. I think they may not stick to a recipe when they make it because it varies so much from visit to visit. Easy enough to switch over to a soda, though. My only real gripe is that they seem to change their order placement system every time I go in. They've changed it at least three times this year. Can't they just pick a method and stick with it?

Food is fantastic, as usual. However, out of the 3 staff that I spoke with, only the lady who brought the food to my family actually made us feel like we were welcome in the restaurant. Guess a "to-go" order would have been a better option.

I saw a Penn Station advertisement for a philly steak and cheese sandwich. The picture looked so good I simply had to go get one! Needless to say, the sandwich I received looked nothing like the picture... however, it was pretty tasty! I ordered a 12-inch philly cheese sandwich combo. It came with medium fries and a medium drink. The fries were somewhere between mediocre and bad. As I mentioned, the sandwich was good. Here's the problem: the total price for my medium fries, medium drink, and 12-inch sandwich was $14. I did a double-check and scanned the receipt, because I thought they made a mistake and overcharged me. nope! the philly cheese steak combo meal cost $14. That price took the taste right out of the sandwich.

Sandwich was a five star. Unfortunately the workers don't wear gloves. Never saw anyone wash their hands or a sink in sight. The cashier even handled money (which is dirty and disgusting) then went to to prep the people behind my order's food. Overall a dirty store. Plenty of other delicious sandwich shops in the area.

Very good sandwiches and some if the best fries anywhere. I like the cheesesteak best. While it is not as good as one you would get in Philly, it is the best you will find in Lafayette. The Staff seemed to be polite and competent. During my last visit I came in during a rush which they were not prepared. The worked as fast as they could and I could tell they were trying their best. Unlike some other fast food places that show no sense of urgency.

As far as sandwich shops go, this is as good as it gets!! When my husband and I come home to visit, this is the first restaurant we hit up. My favorite sandwich is the chicken cordon bleu and my husband's in the club. The ingredients are always fresh and your sandwich is cooked to order. The REAL fresh-cut fries are amazing!!

Penn Station is a sandwich shop, located in the Kmart plaza on 38 east. They make great tasting grilled east coast style submarine sandwiches. They serve with hearth-baked fresh bread and quality ingredients. They put it all together, then magic seems to take place because the sandwiches are too amazing to describe- gourmet comes to mind though. Every sandwich I have ever had the joy of eating from there has been a taste bud pleaser! I now mainly order the grilled artichoke which always makes me a happy customer. I sometimes will have them add chicken, which is not much extra cash. Don't worry if you hate artichoke, they have 13 different sandwiches to choose from, for example the PHILADELPHIA CHEESESTEAK is a superb classic and always amazing. I am not a french fry eater, but I have to admit, I will help my wife eat a few of her fries when when we go there. The potatoes are hand selected, fresh-cut and flash-fried in cholesterol-free peanut oil. This simply means they are unlike any fast food fries you will likely find in the area. The staff at the Lafayette restaurant are always friendly and helpful. The prices are just a bit higher than subway, but there is no comparison when it comes to taste and quality. Penn Station is the best. It is a great eastside find in a sea of Lafayette's mostly boring fast food options.

Their Philadelphia Cheese Steak sandwich (although not authentic) is a great choice. The hand-cut fries are excellent. A good meal when in the mood for a great sandwich.
