We believe this is the best Mexican in the city. We have consistently good service. Great food and tasty drinks. They run specials for lunch and daily specials as well as issuing coupons on-line and in the paper. They also have a lunch-time punch card. Some of our favs: cheese dip. (It is that really creamy Mexican cheese, NOT like "queso dip" elsewhere); Arroz con Pollo, Pollo Yucatan (both come in lunch & dinner portions). Dinner: there is a meal that comes in half a pineapple, if you like seafood, and the fajitas are great, lunch or dinner.

I asked for beef nachos, and they literally gave me tortilla chips with ground beef on top. That's it. I had to pour some of the table's queso over it to make it edible. It's grossing me out talking about this place, which is why this review is so short.

Good food. Love the burritos. Staff is usually friendly, sometimes hard to get their attention though depending on where you are seated. The buffet is not very impressive.

Luv this place! The people, the food and very reasonable prices!

My husband absolutely loves this place, I'm more like meh. Everything kind of tastes the same, however, you get free chips and salsa and large portions. The sangria is delicious and we've always had good service.

I have been relatively unimpressed with Little Mexico II since they moved to their new location. Because I work strange hours, I often used to stop at LM2 on the way home from Purdue to pick up a taco salad to go for dinner. They decreased the salad portion significantly for the same price and have left out the sour cream several times. When I first saw the interior of the new restaurant, I about died. The woodwork is pretty cool BUT it is gaudy. If you want good Mexican in town, seriously go to Taco Rico. It is light years better.

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Lafayette. The staff is super friendly, the food is always fresh and delicious and they have the best frozen margaritas ever!

We've been going here since it was in the location on earl ave. The owner and staff know us. They are always so nice to us. The food is fast and decent mexican food. The Chile Rellenos are the bomb. So good. I love the enchiladas and rice. the salsa is tasty and the chips are always fast on refills.

Contrary to others opinions, Little Mexico II is neither the best or worst authentic mexican place in town. It is certainly way way better than el Rodeo at the levee (what is that guy thinking!??!). I like the salsa at LM II and it seems like I used to get the enchiladas verdes and chile rellenos there often. This used to be the best mexican place in town, but we've had a real explosion in mexican restaurants here over the last 10 years and we have a lot of great options. A note to the local mexican population: please tell any family that you have in mexico to move here! I want more of your restaurants and grocery stores! EDIT: I've upgraded Little Mexico to 4 stars. I've hit up their new location 5 or 6 times since writing this and their chile relleno has been extremely good every time. The new location is on US52 near Mancino's in an old steakhouse. It looks very nice inside, like every surface is carved wood and painted very brightly. The kids love it. We saw a small toddler drink out of the decorative fountain in the main dining area- My kids make sure crack up laughing and remind me of baby at the fountain every time they see it. My 4 year old finds his taco's with only meat and ketchup to be exquisite....haha.

They have an amazing, fresh salsa. The portions are amazing for the price. I highly recommend the Nachos and the enchiladas verdes. The atmosphere is great and the decor has amazing colors. One of my favorites.

I really like this place for a fast lunch. That's not to say their dinner service is bad just that I like to go here for lunch because they are quick to take your order and the food comes out equally speedy. Their salsa and chips are very good with fresh ingredients in the salsa and they're always happy to bring more. The service is very friendly and attentive. For lunch I highly recommend the huevos con chorizo, or the lunch chimichanga. The fajitas are really good here to. I almost forgot, They decor here is very colorful and the whole restaurant is covered in handmade art and they are very kid friendly.

Little Mexico II has the best enchiladas I've eaten in my entire life. In addition, they are often so fast that I suspect they employee some sort of time-travel which allows them to start my order before I arrive in the restaurant. I go back anytime I'm back in Lafayette, and one of the great tragedies of my life is that I live on the wrong side of the country to regularly enjoy their food.

First, the margarita was plain terrible, it had a bad after taste, a strange color, some may like , not for me. I had the pick three, taco, burrito, enchilada, the taco was in the sauce so it was already soggy on one side, all three taste exactly the same, no cheese, just meat inside a shell, no lettuce, tomato. Just bland.

I used to think that this was the best Mexican restaurant until I discovered Taco Rico and El Chicano. Now, Little Mexico doesn't even come to mind when I am craving Mexican. I will have to say that Little Mexico II is a big step up from the El Rodeo in the levee.

I went with five others in May, 2010. Terrible service on a Tuesday night. The waiter sat down with friends and essentially disappeared. I always had better service at the Earl St location.

I LOVE the new location. They have really beefed up the ambiance and the food is still very good. One of 2 places in town for good Mexican food.

All I can say about this restaurant, is don't go!! My family and I just moved here to the area by way of N. Cali- So need I say more about the terrible beef burrito I had; tasted like they cooked the meat about four hours before we got there and left it sitting in the pan for the flies to lay eggs in!! The salsa was really weak!! The service was a negative 10 on that scale!! So is there any great "Mexican Restaurants" in this area of Indiana state?!?

Little Mexico 2 is ok. The wait staff seemed disinterested and the food wasn't anything to write home about. I much prefer El Rodeo or some other local mexican establishment.

Authentic Mexican. Great food. Nice people. Fairly quiet restaurant tucked away in a small district. Probably the best Mexican in Lafayette.

Decided to try it again. Got the spinach enchilada which was advertised as lighter fare. The plate was swimming in grease, and the spinach tasted frozen. Also whoever made the salsa was heavy handed with the salt. I'm giving it an extra star because of the fun decor and nice staff. The food blows.

I am not a huge Mexican food fan so my review may be a little biased. It is however inexpensive and the portions are good for what you pay. The design and decor of the restaurant is so amazing and colorful. Everything is hand painted including the benches.

If you want to feel like shit and literally shit out a clear mucus-y swill for the next two days after ingesting the food. Then eat here!..I will give it one star because it didn't taste that bad..Everyone knows they love food poisoning!!!

This is always the place my friends and I go to when it is someone's birthday! It is super festive inside, and the food and drinks are perfect! The staff is so friendly, and always remembers me when I go in! Pros: - Yummy food - Inexpensive - If you are over 21, get a margarita...and not a glass, a pitcher. SO GOOD! - Make birthday's awesome! Cons: - You have to pay up front

I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to Mexican. I tend to like hole-in-the wall places, the places that have an actual Mexican clientele. This is not that. Cheesy try-too-hard decor with enough brightly-colored carved wood to require sunglasses inside. The food was decent, I guess, my two go-to's for determining a Mexican place I'll go back to were not up to par: Horchata - I love it, they don't have it, and al pastor, which they had and tasted ok but wasn't really al pastor. Was not seasoned in anyway that I would recognize as al pastor. Service was fine, prices were ok. Just not up to my standards on the food, but like I said I'm picky. If you're looking for "safe" American-Mexican, it's just fine.

Great food, great service. What more do you need in a restaurant? The cons are the decor is a bit of an eye sore and you may go at a time when the restaurant is full of little kids running around, screaming their head off. If you can get past that, you'll do alright. Would recommend this place to anybody in the Lafayette area needing their Mexican fix.

Lindo Mexico (as it has been known as since 2013) is one of the best restaurants that I have ever been to. This is Mexican food done right, and it has a wonderful, colorful decor. The service is excellent, and the food is top quality. The portions are quite generous, so much so that I almost always exclaim, "I can't believe I ate the whole thing!" This is the first place that I would recommend to someone new in town. I think that says it all.

Slightly questionable from outside, your fears will quickly disappear as you walk through the doors of "Lindo Mexico." The bright yellow paint and the beautiful paintings catch your eye as the sound of running water turns your head to see the stunning fountain situated in the center of the restaurant. The decor reminds me of a Colonial Mexican courtyard, with great smells everywhere! Lindo Mexicao (used to me Little Mexico) is the best Mexican Restaurant in the Greater Lafayette Area. I urge locals to try it out and Purdue students to hop in the car or catch a bus to experience this traditional mexican food. The service is top notch, and food is superior to any other mexican options within 50 miles! I prefer chicken dishes, and my wife and I both usually order the arroz con pollo. The taco salads are great as are the fajitas. Purdue students get a discount, so make the trip, Boilermakers! If you found this review helpful, please take a second to compliment it, rate it as helpful and become a fan!

If I die and go to heaven, I want it to be just like Little Mexico II or "LM Dos" as I call it affectionately. The service here is great, decor is awesome for a mexican place and the food is wonderful. I have NEVER gone here with anyone who didn't like/love the food. Their chicken tacos are awesome, taco salads are great and people rave about their burritos! Their qhite cheese queso dip is also great. This place has the best chips and salsa in town, hands down. Seriously, if you haven't been here, you're missing out. I would be 50 pounds heavier if I lived in Lafayette because I'd be here ALL. THE. TIME.

Great food, atmosphere and service. One of my favorite restaurants. Very bright and impressive decor. Portion size is very good but salsa can be a little inconsistent, im guessing it has to do with whomever is making it that day, however, it has never been bad. We have driven from Kokomo just to have dinner here many times. I've tried several different dishes but recommend the Pollo Azteca or fajitas. Unfortunately, if u like Bloody Mary's you will not be impressed.

When we moved to Lafayette from Austin, we knew we were giving up great Mexican food, but after trying some inferior offerings, we stumbled upon Lindo Mexico. So glad we discovered this little gem of Tex-Mex style food! It all starts with great salsa (you can really judge a Mexican restaurant by the quality of their salsa) and hearty chips. The chimichangas are petite and perfect, the Nachos Bravos (nachos with beef, chicken, and shimp) are incredible, and I've yet to have a dish I didn't enjoy. (And that's saying something - the menu is really extensive.) A few of the ground beef dishes are a little on the plain side, which is the only criticism I can come up with; otherwise, the flavors are rich without being overdone. Moreover, the decor is really neat - hand-carved and painted scenes throughout the restaurant, even under the glass of many of the tables - and we've gotten to know the wait staff well. The owner and his wife are pretty much always there, another sign of a great restaurant. English is spoken quite well, although they're more than happy to speak Spanish with you even if, like me, you're not a native speaker and just trying to practice. Definitely recommend you check it out if you have any desire for Mexican. Be warned - you will lose your taste for other Mexican restaurants in the area by comparison, so sample with caution.

On a night-time drive from Chicago back to Knoxville, we were really craving Mexican. We found this little place, a few miles off the interstate, and thank goodness we did! I don't recall exactly what we had, but the service was amazingly fast, the salsa was super fresh and flavorful. It lacked the traditional spiciness, but the flavor more than made up for this. I got tacos, which were pretty spiced and spicy, but insanely good. The enchilada order was also really quite good. It had seafood, but I'm not sure what kind. If you're anywhere close to here, go visit it. Surprisingly amazing.

This is the best and most authentic Mexican restaurant in town! I love the arroz con pollo as well as the white queso! The margaritas are amazing! The servers are top notch! They aren't much for small talk, but keep you drinks full and chips flowing! The atmosphere is also inviting and amazing! I love this place!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
