Easy-going, down-to-earth, & friendly... Have a beer and make new friends! Seems like a lot of locals and regulars on my first visit here. The crowd and music is very diverse. The neat thing is that the people are super friendly and sociable. I was invited here by a friend, and introduced to about 8 people all at once. I immediately had a beer in hand and a seat at the bar. Very chilled and relaxed place. This is somewhere to honestly come and have a drink with a friend and catch up, or become friends with regulars and it would be a common hang out spot. The upstairs had a pool table and bathrooms, the downstairs was packed. When walking by, people are constantly bumping into each other as would happen in ANY packed bar or narrow area of walkway. The customers (as I said, likely mostly regulars too) were so polite. People apologize as they bump shoulders, smile, make room, and there were no "alpha males", or "creepers." I actually didn't get hit on by "sloppy drunks" and it was refreshing and relaxing. Someone jokingly carded me outside upon arrival, and then laughed since they were some regular and let me right in. They kept it casual and didn't over push the joke. It was well played and a nice first impression upon entry to the bar of what to expect. The atmosphere was for absolutely everyone. Diversity is actually key. If you are a judgmental person, I'd stay out because you would ruin a place like this and not fit in anyways (and why would a place like this want cruel guests? There really were no butt heads here. Everyone was respectful and enjoying a Saturday night away from the real world we all suffer through during the week). You can come here after a wedding in a suit and cocktail dress, or after a day on the farm in ripped up dirty jeans and fit right in. I love the "care-free" environment overall. My favorite guy in the bar was singing Wagon Wheel loudly and was delightfully happy yet also disappointed that no one else knew the lyrics so I helped out. Haha. Next song on was some old alternative hit from the 90's top 40 but I forget which song exactly. Wide range and rotation of tunes. I think there was even a juke box with people selecting songs! There was a chill chest with just about everything I could imagine in it, including seasonal special brews of beers and such. There was also a full bar & TV's with sports on (I still call this a dive bar, not a sports bar off of a late Saturday night experience with no important games on at the time). It was like 12:30-3:00 am for my visit. some TV's with sports on does not necessarily create a sports bar. Overall, this is a great place to grab a beer at any hour. I am more into clubbing, but am getting older so "chillax" places like this become more essential. The only reason I give a 4 and not 5 star rating is that there is smoking allowed inside. I think even one of the staff members smoked. I don't mind bartenders smoking on the job, especially here since the idea and atmosphere here was all about being low key and relaxed. I just hate smoking in general since I am a huge non-smoker. It hurts and dries out my eyes, and as a runner I don't want to breathe it. As a healthcare worker, I don't promote it either. I thought that all bars went smoke free, but I am not certain how the laws really work. The Purdue bars and downtown Lafayette Bars/Restaurants all appear to have no more smoking indoors. This joint was in its own location though. Allowing smoking does fit into this environment... Here needs some Jamaican friends to come on over and say, "No problem mon'" because that is the vibe and would complete them with the final touch! This place was full of approximately aged 25-45 year old locals and were not the trashy townies, but honestly nice, fun, friendly, & polite people. Respect for all, welcome to all, and judgements to none. The crowd and staff are what made this place great! I would recommend this place to meet up with a friend and grab a beer or two!

It's the local neighborhood dive bar that happens to be Lafayette's night time hot spot!

This is a townie dive bar. Dingy, small, looks like it hasn't had a good cleaning in years.

Long story short - this is my favorite bar in town, which is saying something considering how much time and money I've spent, um, exploring the majority of bars in the area! The jukebox/sound system is second to none, the drinks are great (in their allegedly unbreakable glasses), the crowd is diverse and interesting, and the bartenders all know their business. Biggest drawback? They don't take AMEX. But I'm assured they'll join the cool crowd in that respect in the near future.

Full bar. Well priced drinks. Free pool table upstairs. Good service. T.V.'s to watch any sporting events or etc. that might be on. Free Wi-fi They may not have a menu w/bar food on it but the Biltmore is right across the street from Magnifico's pizzeria
