This review is LONG overdue! So sorry! I hosted a surprise birthday party here for the Husband back in December 2014. The District Staff were so helpful in making arrangements for this party. They set up tables, moved them around at my request, brought me a cake knife, let us set up early - all the wonderful services you would expect from a venue. They were very accommodating to our family too, which is very large and never misses out on an opportunity to party - especially when a few of our family members are serving as the entertainment for the evening. :) The only food I had was the artichoke spinach dip I believe, which was good from what I remember. Like I said, it was a party...definitely stop in when Gary Gillund or Joe Cameron are playing!! They both play great music!!

I had the Georgetowner Patty Melt last night and it was very good. I ordered it without the bread as I try to eat gluten-free and was delicious. Grilled just right with fresh lettuce and onions (no tomato either) and the fried were hot and crunchy. Great, friendly service and a nice environment. Overall a terrific experience.

What a nice find to run across this place. We were looking for the place down the street and walked by this one. We looked inside and found a fresh and clean restaurant/bar. Since our goal was down the street, we went there, looked and inside and turned around. It didn't look fit to eat in nor was it inviting. Back at The District, the bar seating was full so we sat at a side table with very comfortable chairs. After a while a couple seats opened at the bar so we moved there. When we go out, we enjoy talking with other people and the bartender. The bartender was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. She also gave us the history of the place since the new owner took over. He spent a ton of bucks remodeling and updating. Very impressive. The food was fabulous! We both had different items and were extremely happy. They have a chef that does a great job. If we lived closer, we'd be regulars. And the beer was very reasonably priced. That's always deserving of a happy dance. After dinner Todd Rudicel, the owner, stopped by to chat. He filled us in on the rest of the history of the building. He also has more plans in the works for The District. After having two of my own businesses, I enjoy talking to other business owners. Todd has it together. Starting a new business from scratch is hard. I think he will do well. The food, beer and service were outstanding. Go and enjoy!

We stopped in for dinner because the Kokomo Jackrabbits were rained out. Trying to figure out why The District has a Washington DC theme but no big deal. Tried three of the appetizers: mozz sticks, pot stickers and fried mac n cheese. The pot stickers were not a favorite but the mozz sticks were very good and fried mac n cheese were just short of awesome! The marinara sauce was very good. My wife ordered the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with fries and it was very tasty, the fries were a highlight. I enjoyed a BLT topped with a fried egg and the house jalapeno mayo. This sandwich was a winner...give it a try!! The side selection was fresh onion straws and they were great. The service was very good and it appeared that the owners were working. Why not 5 stars?? This downtown Kokomo joint could have easily received 5 stars if not for a couple of issues. Walked in and stood for a while not knowing whether we should seat ourselves or if we needed to wait to be seated. Easily fixed with a small, stylish sign. And the other issue was the wait for the food. It took too long for two entrées and three appetizers. Having said that, I would return for another chance for them to earn an extra star!

Having read positive reviews of The District, I stopped by this downtown pub / eatery for lunch on a Tuesday. There was one large group of 10, 2 guys eating at the counter and me ... the place easily seats 4 times that and yet the bartender and 1 waitress (and one cook?) seemed ill prepared to handle this non-rush. The bartender brought me a menu and a drink and took my order after a short wait ... But then nothing for the next 28 minutes... I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and coleslaw... I don't think that takes 28 minutes ... The bartender never checked back and so I asked the waitress to check on my order (complaining about the wait), THEN the bartender appeared with the food (no apologies for the wait). The bartender did check back re. the food (it was fine but nothing special). The pulled pork had no seasoning whatsoever was on the dry side and was only coarsely shredded. For flavor, it was served with (what tasted like) a side of store-bought nondescript barbecue sauce. The bun was toasted. The cole slaw was good. Then, after I was done, the waitress came by with the check & she apologized (more than once) for the wait, brought the bill & got me a to-go drink (iced tea). It is for her sake that this place gets 2 stars instead of 1. Don't come here if you're in a hurry for lunch or if you are hungry for some delicious pulled pork.

Delicious!!! I came here at the suggestion of a friend and am so glad I did. I had the mahi fish tacos and fries with a salad. The salad was fine- maybe too much iceberg lettuce, but the blue cheese dressing was good. The French fries were crispy, well cooked and flavorful. However, the star of the show was the mahi tacos!! So many flavors together really packed a punch!! I really loved the counterpoint between the spicy cream and the sweet mango salsa. Really really good! I'll be back next time I'm in town for dinner!!

Great environment for all ages. My waitress Amanda was out of this world! Drinks were never empty, and she is so personable! I absolutely love the food here!
