Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

It's an Olive Garden chain- what do you want? It's not authentic Italian but it's tasty and relatively affordable. That said this particular location has a very dedicated staff, many of whom have been there a long time and they are friendly and generally attentive from hostesses to servers. The food is sometimes slow but it's fresh. Prepare to wait on most any night- this place is seemingly always packed.

Open a can, reheat commercially prepared food - this is NOT the Italian I remember from my years living in Italy - nor is it the American Italian that's actually homemade sauce, meatballs and sausage. NOTHING here is homemade, folks and if you think it's good - well....that's your opinion. It's frozen, canned, thrown together to be heated and served. The grease and salt on the breadsticks might be tasty but they are guaranteed to harden your arteries and make you drink like desert nomad - and they hope it's their wine/alcohol that you crave! Of course, there's salad - neverending - filler!!! And soup - filler!!! Makes up for the small portions. The false advertising about their chefs going to Italy - really?! Maybe a district manager would but not each and every OG chef.

Always excellent food. Wait staff is very efficient. Hosts/hostesses... meh.

I'm only writing this because I saw this place get a five star review. For Kokomo maybe this is the best Italian place in town. Olive Garden is to Italian cuisine what AOL used to be for internet users. It is there to give you a hint of what true Italian food is like. If you're looking for good Italian food and you're hung up on going to a chain restaurant then I suggest you try some place like Carabbas. Sure its expensive but you won't be disappointed. And maybe, just maybe, you'll understand real italian food. Better yet, take a trip to the east coast. You'll find plenty of examples of what real Italian is like. Disclosure: I used to live in Federal Hill in Providence, RI. Google it. Any Italian place you try on the hill will show you what real Italian is.

Hard to go wrong with Olive Garden, no matter what city they all taste great. The Olive Garden in Kokomo is great for large groups. Many times we have been out with large groups of friends and not been able to get into two or three different places. Everytime this happens we have called over to Olive Garden and they have been able to help us each time.

Would've been able to give 5 stars, but service was just okay :(

Husband and I had dinner. Parking lot was packed, so I was afraid there'd be a wait; however, we were seated right away. This is a BIG Olive Garden. Service was good. Food was exceptionally good. It was the best meal I've ever had at Olive Garden. Now, that being said, it is probably only the eighth or ninth time I've been to an Olive Garden. We both had chicken dishes from their "lighter fare. " Chicken was tender and tasty. Breadsticks were not as oily as sometimes, which pleased us. The salad was the only weak part of the meal-- Iceberg lettuce. Bleh. Server was attentive. . . a little too attentive. She must have asked us a dozen times if we were"still doing ok." It wasn't that we had camped out and they needed the table; there were plenty of open tables. Based on our meals, we will visit this location again when we are in the area.

Given this was Easter, I was surprised the place was not packed. Quite the contrary, they were able to accommodate a large party, seating us after only 5 minutes. The first thing we noticed was the new decor and abundance of wait staff. Clearly this renovated Olive Garden was striving for a climate more on par with the higher end Italian bistros. The new bar area was very nice with a warm yet functional layout. And the racks and racks of wines really added some fine character. The featured endless salad and bread sticks survive the remodel, continuing to be a trademark of the Olive Garden. The menu borders on too many choices but not to fear, you can narrow it down. The typical entree is around $15-18 average unless opting for some special or less expensive pasta dish. Still, there are signature dishes and seasonal specials that can climb higher for the the premium qualities. For this visit I chose the talapia and shrimp while many others in the group choose the citris chicken. Both options proved delicious and filling.

This Olive Garden has, over the past 5 years or so, become the default lunch location for meeting up with friends and old co-workers when I'm passing through town. This is because my colleagues are generally short on time (only an hour for lunch), the food is inexpensive, there is something for everyone and the service is generally quick. They can generally seat a large group (i.e. 6-10 people) on very short notice and the place is quiet enough where a group that size can converse without having to shout or speak over someone else. Three stars from me because they are able to meet our needs and the food isn't bad.

After posting the previous review and pics we were contacted by several managers who promptly apologized. They have more than compensated us for the mistake!

My wife and I ate at Olive Garden in Kokomo the 22Jan15. The food was great and the waiter (Mathew) who recently came from Red Lobster treated us very well. One of the best waiters in Kokomo. The manager of the restaurant came over and asked us how we were doing and how the food was. Very refreshing! Will be coming back, that is for certain!

Normally love Olive Garden but ever since the construction started service lacking , dirty silverware and tables not setup before we sat down. I hope it's just the construction that is throwing them off!

Good food, I used to work at red lobster which is owned by the same company as olive garden and a few other rest. and my biggest complaint is the prices just keep skyrocketing. Easily the most expensive places in kokomo, portions also keep getting smaller. Used to eat at tese places frequently but it has now been reduced to special occassions due to the large bill. Went once with my coworkers during lunch and had to wait to be sat even though the place was empty, so a table IN the servers section could be cleared n cleaned for us...ummm, im sorry but just seat us at an open table and tell a server to pick it up?
