Took my wife here for our 10 year anniversary and had a great time. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, room was great, price was great! I would recommend this place to anyone.

This is a wonderful BnB. We really couldn't ask for anything more. The innkeepers were very nice and hospitable, the rooftop deck had great views, the rooms were extremely clean and had a large hot tub, and the breakfast in the morning was amazing with fresh fruit, pastries and gourmet hot food. The inn is within walking distance to all of the restaurants on the river, which provide a great view of downtown Louisville across the river. There is also a walking bridge near the inn where you can walk across to Louisville while taking in marvelous views of the river. This B&B is one of the best, if not the best we've ever been to. The innkeepers go out of their way to make sure your stay is the best it can be.

I surprised my fiance with an overnight stay for his birthday. I had packed a bag (unbeknownst to him) and put him in the car and told him not to make any plans until the next afternoon. We got a bit lost (my GPS wasn't playing nice with me) and he got really nervous... for absolutely no reason! The owners are lovely, friendly, unobtrusive people. There is a communal fridge on each floor, equipped with tape and a sharpie for labelling food (we had some leftovers from dinner and a bottle of white wine to chill) - extremely convenient! I also loved having coffee and a wetbar in our room. Breakfast was delightful. We've rarely felt so pampered. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience! The best part? The value!!! Much less expensive than its Louisville counterparts! AND we got to explore a bit of Southern Indiana!

We took a long weekend over the 4th of July for a 3-night stay here due to a nearby wedding in New Albany. I don't think we would have ever visited otherwise- and what a shame if we had not! The pictures of the B&B on their website and online do NOT do this place justice. You don't really get a good sense of the sweeping vaulted ceilings, the warm wood touches, the beauty of the old brick and antiques mixed with newer renovations that give this place a homey luxe elegance (I didn't know that was even possible?!). We stayed in the Renaissance Suite and were absolutely spoiled by the size of the space (taking up a good part of the 3rd floor!). The bathroom was incredibly generous and contains a very nice 2-person tub with jets. The breakfast is delightful- I rarely enjoy baked gluten-y goods, but when I do- this is the kind of place to splurge (the cranberry almond scones and german pancakes were scrumptious!). It's also within an easy block or so walking distance to many local restaurants along the river. The walking bridge is within visible sight and on the end of the block from the Inn. We didn't meet Carol (she was out of the country) but her husband Steve was incredibly warm and helpful and I can only imagine they play a huge part in creating the atmosphere of the Inn. (Shouldn't all Innkeepers be as endearing?) Definitely worth a stay if you're anywhere in the Louisville area!

Best B&B we've been too. The innkeepers are wonderful, hospitable folks. We felt at ease and at home. Most importantly, we were made to feel that they wanted us to come back. The breakfast was great, staff and service very attentive and prompt. We had waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, poppy seed bread, lemon bread, cranberry juice, orange juice and coffee. The interior is amazing, great restoration work, interesting history. This place is a must see.

More than I could have expected and met my last minute need for accommodations. Carol and Steve are great hosts and offer so much above any expensive hotel. The Inn is a beautiful retreat with southern country charm. My bedroom was comfortable with fireplace, desk, large screen TV, chase lounge and extremely comfortable bed. Bathroom had a Jacuzzi and was immaculately clean with plenty of lighting. And then there was a lovely made to order hot breakfast including juice, fresh fruits, pastries and bread. I will go back.....Lovely!

I can't believe I haven't submitted this review... This is our go-to place to stay when visiting Louisville (we once stayed there 3 times in 1 summer!). The owners are very nice people and serve a delicious breakfast. There are also always snacks and drinks available for munching. The downstairs common area is nice, and we love to hang out on the rooftop porch. All the rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and have all the amenities that you might need. The only downside is that they sometimes require multiple-night stays during certain calendar periods.

My husband and I stayed at the Market Street Inn on our way back from Nashville to Chicago. We planned a little stop over in Louisville and decided to find a B&B to stay in. We fell in love with this place the instant we pulled up. It is exactly what you would picture a quaint southern inn to look like! The rooms were big and clean and had as much charm as any place can have. We had breakfast early and were able to chat with the owners, they are two of the sweetest people we've met, and they make a mean breakfast casserole! I'm hoping we can make it back for a visit soon and would definitely recommend this place to others spending any amount of time in Louisville.

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast right across the river in Jeffersonville. Our room was absolutely the best! It was large, beautiful and comfortable. We had a king bed, jacuzzi tub & shower, couch and large flat screen TV which we didn't use due to the other relaxing options like reading and talking. Each room has a fireplace-heater that keeps the room COZY! The owners refurbished this house by themselves and did a spot-on job of it! I felt like a queen and was actually able to sleep which is a HUGE compliment to the Inn! (Usually not the best sleeper out of my own bed which is sad because I love to get away and be pampered.) The breakfast was two fat pieces of bacon, a yummy quiche slice and fluffy biscuit with various jams and butter. They also had mini raspberry scones, fresh fruit, juices and good coffee. SPACTULAR ALL AROUND!Best night out stay ever! Highly recommend!

I'm not a bed-and-breakfast kind of guy, but we received a gift certificate and chose this B&B for a weekend getaway. It was a very nice facility, super-friendly owners and the breakfast was great. The location is wonderful, and we spent the evening drinking a bottle of wine on the front porch and reading. If you like B&B's I bet you'd love this place.

Wonderfule stay! It is so charming! Awesome Inn keepers/owners! We were here for our 6th anniversary. We stayed in the Bridal Suite. Nice HUGE king bed, decor was awesome and inviting! Attached to the bedroom was a bathroom the same size with his and her sinks, a huge jacuzzi tub for two, faux fireplace that added the already great atmosphere. Tall ceilings, white tall shutters for privacy that can be swung open if you would like to let more light in! This building is so charming. The porch is so inviting, had we had one more day we woud have just sat there reading, but there was so much to do in such a short amount of time. The decorations are perfectly placed, which was done by Carol herself, no design team here! We loved staying here and hated to leave it felt like home. The food that Carol made was scrumptious! First morning was an egg casserole with hasbrowns and cheese in it, pefect crisp bacon, scones, fresh fruit, a variety of juices including tomato my fav!, lemon brunch cake (mouth watering), and waffles! The second morning was a oven puffed pancake with strawberries and creme, also served with pefect crisp bacon! They leave snacks out in their eating area through out the night incase you need just a little something. There are bottled waters in refrigerators located in the hallways. The gentleman owner was a great conversationalist, I loved chatting with them! They are source of information on what to do around town and in Louisville! The Market Street Inn had gone through a fire years ago and then sat empty until the owner brought this place to life. Awesome work and attention to detail when reviving this place. The Market Street Inn is just one block over from the Ohio river and a few blocks down from some great places to eat! LOVED THIS PLACE!!! WE WILL BE BACK!!
