Wahoo! Another brewery on my side of the river! My husband and I have been familiar with Flat12 for a bit, so we were excited to see a location open up right on the river. A couple of my friends and I decided to grab a pint after work, and I cannot wait to make this place a regular stop for my summer evenings. We sat inside, since it was chilly, but I was eyeing the patio the entire time. Hello hot weather and awesome beer! The bartenders were so nice and open. They were happy to make suggestions, tell us little tips on different brews, and ask us how we liked our choices. (They also told us about a running group that shares beers afterwards, every Thursday!) The pints are SO reasonable--around $5 each, making it quite affordable to try a few types. Love it! We didn't try the food, though the menu looked great. I had a coffee-laden porter, and I really liked it. The coffee was front and center, not on the back of the finish. The body wasn't too heavy, nor too light, making it perfectly sippable for summer. Like I said, I can't wait to visit more now that the weather is becoming beautiful! This place is going to be rockin.'

Great location and friendly staff will always make for a place I will frequent. The inside bar area is nice and spacious. Great view out the south window of the river. Im waiting on more than 4 stars as I didnt get a chance to try any food while I was there. The beers I had were great, the Seaward IPA and a delicious concoction of the Jo Brahma and BBW Willet Rye mixed. It was suggested by the bartender and I gave it a shot. I was there on a Sunday evening so there were minimal people and it was very quiet. Im sure on the weekend nights it would get pretty packed. All in all a great place to sit, relax and enjoy a beer!

I went to Flat12 with two of my friends after the Jeffersonville Wine Walk last Friday. The bartender was awesome! He asked the three of us what kind of beer we liked and gave us samples of ones he recommended. I loved the one I ordered and my friends liked theirs too! The food sounds really tasty and I will be back to try it when I am off my diet or having a cheat day!

I have become a regular here. When I walk in- they all say hello and know that I like IPA"s and I like that. There's something about going just across the river to Jeffersonviille that feels very relaxing and calming to me. Flat12 Bierwerks has quickly become one of my favorite spots to go- especially on Sundays. Flat12 has brunch on Sunday from 11-3. The menu consists of breakfast flatbreads and beer cocktails. I had the Bloody Mary cocktail made with their Upside Down Blonde and it was delicious. I love sitting on the deck listening to live music with a cold beer. I have also tried the beer flights and I highly recommend doing that the first time you go. I enjoyed all 4 that I tried but Blue Mile is my favorite so far.

My wife and I were on a beer tour of southern Indiana and we were excited about visiting the Indianapolis brewery tap room in Jeffersonville. We opted for different flights so we could try all of the beer selections. These are all professionally made brews and the sour cherry version of the pogues stout was the consensus favorite and I was delightfully surprised by their session pale ale which was hop forward and we'll balanced. We didn't eat so I can't comment on the foodstuffs on offer. We were about the only ones in there at noon on a week day so I can't really say what service is like during more normal business hours. However, the beer tender was knowledge and friendly.

Outstanding beer! Outstanding service! Great flatbread! Beautiful view! Becoming our favorite place in Louisville/Jeff.

Great beer. An amazing patio. Exemplary service. Steps from the Big Four Bridge. One of the best views of Louisville. Flat12 will BLOW UP with people this summer. I'm happy that I got to try this out before that happens. Though now I will just want to go back ... a lot. Alas. A friend and I took a few minutes to check out Flat12 over the weekend. We were immediately asked about what we would like to order and if we needed help with the menu and beer list when we walked in. We ended up opting for seats at the bar -- all the better to chat up the bartender. I can't remember his name, but he was friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. After some further explanation about the 16 Flat12 beers on tap -- and some free tastes! -- I opted for a pint of the Lacto Nitro, a nitrogenated version of the Lacto-Matic, a milk sugar stout. I love the smoothness of beer served on nitrogen, and this beer was as silky as any other nitrogen beer I tasted. It had a tinge of sweetness as its description suggested. And at $5 to $5.75, the prices allow for multiple pints. We also tried the Fuiba, a malty brown ale, at the insistence of the bartender. He said it's his favorite and was quite insistent. Don't get me wrong -- it was very good. But after the Lacto Nitro, Fuiba was definitely relegated to second place. I also can't wait to take advantage of their 32 oz. "bullets," which are smaller versions of their growlers. We didn't get to try the food, which consisted of several flatbreads, breadsticks and other pub-type food. We also didn't get to enjoy a beer on the patio. The weather was just too chilly. I'll just have to save those for my many return visits.

I give this dive brewery only 4 stars because it wasn't my type of beer preferred selection. However the atmosphere was awesome as well as the views. Plus the glasses had cute funny saying on them! They had this great screened in patio area with heat for the winter and plenty of seating and lighting. The vibe was chill and the bartender was very attentive and let me sample four different types of beers before I ended up going with the first one I tried lol! Typical me! But overall cool hangout!

I've been to Flat 12 a few times now. Let's get real, people, it's just an "okay" place. The service model leaves a little to be desired. The menu is limited, but that's really not a problem. Bringing the food table-side on a Chinette paper plate kind is, though. Also, it would be nice if each person at the table was given their own small plate, instead of a stack of paper napkins. Look, last Saturday evening I dropped $127.00 there, but me and my 2 guests ate flatbread slices using paper napkins as our "plates". C'mon, Flat 12, are you in the game or not? The little stuff is the big stuff. It seems like the owners don't want to make too big of an investment in dry goods just incase the place bombs! It's not gonna bomb if you provide your dinner guests with a freakin' plate for their food. One other thing, Flat 12 needs to provide a craft beer menu with beer descriptions that people can use to order their flights. Having the bartenders write down flight selections on small post-it pad is just plain silly. I should be able to "check-off" which beers I choose for my flight, have the bartender use that checklist to fill my flight order, then I return to my table with the checklist and use it while we're tasting the different styles of beers. Most craft beer places do flights this way. Post-it pads??? right up there with not providing plates for your dinner guests. I'll return to Flat 12, it's still a pretty good place, but some reviewers act like Flat 12 is the single greatest place to ever hit Jeffersonville. I guess given the long drought of good downtown eateries, it's understandable. As more serious taprooms and craft beer places open, Flat 12 will need to pay closer attention to the details. For now, they can get by. Give it a try.

Nice staff and always plenty of new and interesting brews to try. Lovely midway spot to stop on a walk to and from Louisville on the Big Four bridge! They have lots of live music and events too!
(4)David H.
Solid selection of interesting mostly craft type draft beers. Eric was one of the friendliest bartenders I've ever encountered. He found out we were from out of town and there with our friend from Louisville and told places we needed to check out and told us to check out a free pig roast Sunday night at a different bar he was planning to check out. This place seems to close early and the kitchen closes even earlier so check the hours before you check this place out. If you make the walk across the bridge, be sure and check this place out.

Great patio overlooking the river and they allow small pets so we were sold. The patiobis a raised patiobso you have a great view, especially come sundown. The beer is good and selection is awesome. Food is yummy. Service was a little slow but I suspect they will get better and faster... The staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly so that is a great plus. All in all definitely returning soon!
(4)Jessica P.
Suggest you try flights, had Brahma, Barrell Jack, nitro milk, and saison, all very flavorful. Boyfriend got a planko bourbon flight, bold flavors. Brewery is branched from Indianapolis.

Awesome. Based on atmosphere, new favorite brewery in the area. Beer good and Sunday brunch flatbread very enjoyable.

I came here after a long night at work and LOVED the decor of the bar. It's open and inviting and the bartenders are really friendly and awesome. I'm excited about coming here this summer and spending some time out on the patio. Flat 12 is going to be an awesome place to visit after walking the bridge. There was a great beer selection and the bartenders were quick to offer samples. We ordered three appetizers. The goat cheese poppers and flatbread pizza was great. The beer cheese, however, left a lot to be desired. It tasted like cheese flavored beer and was cold. I don't know if this is how they intend it to be or whether something went horribly wrong the night I was there, but my only suggestion would be to change that recipe because it is just not working. Would I recommend it? Even with the beer cheese fiasco, the staff is awesome and the beer selection is good. Just stick with the pizza.

Been here a few times, great atmosphere, great view of the river and the Louisville skyline from the deck, ok service, would not recommend the food. That said they do have a great selection of craft beers!
(3)Jillian B.
For some reason I really didn't want to like it. But I do. A lot. The beer is pretty fantastic (I'm a sucker for the specialty taps) and the staff is super friendly.
(5)David C.
We went several nights to try the Twelve Beers of Christmas. They were very good. I like stouts and strong beers, and they have a great selection. Pinko is a favorite, but Snow Dog is almost a tie. Their flat bread veggie pizza is very tasty.

Sucks! It seems likes a place that likes beers and nothing else. Customer service - lacking as i felt unaccepted
(1)Brad H.
This place is always good it's right on the river on the bike route in the beer is good and the flat bread pizzas are excellent I would highly recommend stopping by here for a few

We love this place. Great food, awesome beer, and being right on the river makes for a nice night out on the patio. We love the hummus and BBQ flatbread pizza! We have tried several beers and have loved them all - it's a great addition to downtown Jeffersonville and a nice spot for the locals! Also, it's a walk up and order type place - the food always comes out quickly and hot. They are always very attentive when you are at the bar and you don't wait long at all to order. Plus, I love tasting different breed and they are knowledgable about all of the different beers.

The latest trend in craft beer is to hop styles not traditionally associated with the hoppy flavor. Do you like IPAs ? Do you think more beer styles should have that bitter finishing taste? Flat Bierweks has the beers for you. Flat 12 offers outdoor or indoor seating overlooking the Ohio. I started with a flight of beers (4) and was surprised that the English Walkabout (an English Pale Ale) had a hoppy, bitter finish. I also tried one brewed with Tequila...even more bitter. The menu is limited and food is served in chinette plates. We had the roasted red pepper humus with flat bread, which was thin and somewhat crispy. Beers are ordered and served at the bar; food is brought to your table. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Check for hours of operation. Hop head? Give Flat 12 Bierweks a try.

Amazing views, delicious craft beer, service so good its almost uncomfortable, hand made pizza with premium ingredients. The only thing better than drinking beer here would be to freeze in fucking time drinking beer here, already sooo close to a spiritual experience..... I think I just saw Jesus on the patio.

I love this place. I've only been once so far and I didn't stay long since I was on my way home from work when I stopped in. I had a pint of the Chocolate Orange porter that was on the 12 Days of Christmas list and then I had a flight that I half chose and let them choose the other half for me. I collect pint glasses so I bought one of them and they have several others to buy one each time I go back. The guys working were awesome. They were fun, quick and very personable. Also really educated on the beers, process and the business. The inside is vibrant, large and very clean. I was a bit confused on the parking situation because it shares parking lots with the Olives so I just parked on the side street and walked over. Check them out.

Decent beer, decent food (for the space available to make it and for what it is), decent-ish service. The flatbread I got was quite good. Red onions, gouda, sausage...and bigger than I expected it to be. You order at the bar. But the guys behind the bar are chatty. Which is great if it isn't too busy and you are into that. But if you are a few people back and they get to talking with the people in front of you....and no beer is being tasted or served and nothing is being put in to the computer....you might get a little impatient and notice your thirst becoming more pronounced. I was here with a gentleman, and when we finally got to our chance to order, I was given a pint of the beer I ordered, but he was asked about his drink choice and offered samples and the employee asked him his preferences, offering recommendations and talked to just him about beer styles and I was just there....twiddling my thumbs. I thought about asking for a few samples, but I had already been given my pint...so I thought it would look bad/be looked down on to also ask for a few samples after hearing more about the *other* beers. I'm glad I liked the beer I did get well enough. I guess I felt ignored. The guy taking our order also told us a weird thing about V-stance and Alpha Males and increasing testosterone. I....didn't know what to do with that topic. So a little more awkward standing around, smiling from me... It's a nice addition to the Jeffersonville Riverside. But when I find myself on the Indiana side of the river next, personal preference will probably have me choosing Big Four Burgers & Beer.

Delicious, cold beer for everyone, every time. Awesome front patio with a view of the Big Four Bridge and Downtown Louisville.. Jeffersonville River Stage is less than a block away. Live music, movies al fresco on the weekends which is always a good time at river stage.

What an excellent addition to the local area. The Indianapolis brewery has a warehouse and taproom in downtown Jeff, right on the water and easily accessible from the pedestrian bridge. They have a lot of beers on tap, usually about 20 in normal rotation and then a handful of specialty/experimental ones. Their barrel-aged beers really stand out, especially the Pinko bourbon barrel. Not a lot of food but they do have solid flatbread pizzas and other things to soak up the alcohol. Great view of the river and downtown Louisville from the outdoor deck. This is going to be a go-to spot when the weather is warm.
(5)Sergey G.
Great new spot on the river! Beer is delicious! Can't beat the location- close to the pedestrian bridge, practically on the water! Love the design and atmosphere. The food is very decent too. Several specials all the time, usually including great barrel- aged goodness. Carefully selected guest taps from other local breweries.
(5)Pamela K.
Excellent service! Super friendly, great beer. It is amazing what they are able to produce food-wise in their tiny kitchen. Limited food menu, great beer menu, excellent all the way around. Casual atmosphere, not for kids which was fine by me. Meat on menu comes from Smoking Goose meats in Indy which we heard is across the street from the Flat 12 up there. Location is near the Big Four walking bridge right on the river. We will totally be back! Looking forward to their future on the waterfront!
