Love this place. Staff is great, food is good, and if you don't get the cheese dip you are letting yourself down.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. Staff is friendly and the food is hot and delicious. My favorite is the chili relleno, ohhhhh so good!

This place was a nice find. I decided to have lunch here because I was very early for a doctor's appointment. At first, I was going to order a take-out and I did. Then, a few minutes after I ordered, I changed my mind and decided to dine in the restaurant. The staff was very accommodating and did not seem annoyed at my change. Actually, they seemed happy that I decided to stay. While yes, as other reviewers have stated, the food is on par with almost any other Mexican restaurant in this region of the United States, the staff seemed much nicer. They were very understanding as I tried to practice my limited Spanish during my lunch experience. The complimentary chips and salsa were nice. The chips were crispy and not oily. The salsa was a little spicy without making me sweat. My sweet tea was just about perfect. It was not syrupy-sweet. It was a bit sweeter than unsweetened teas, but not so sweet that you need an insulin shot after drinking it. I ordered the huevos con chorizo with beans and rice. This dish was really nice because it was not a greasy as in some other Mexican restaurants. There were a few TVs and many Mexican-themed paraphernalia on the walls. I really enjoyed lunch here and will return again when I am in the area.

Great place to eat Mexican food. The menu is exactly the same as every other Mexican restaurant in the country. I love putting this food in my mouth and pooping it out of my butt after my body uses the nutrients and energy for my active lifestyle. Pollo chipotle is my go-to dish here.

I've been going here off and on for a few years and I do adore them. We've gotten to know some of the staff and always have such a great time talking and laughing with them. My daughter out of the blue several visits ago said, "Feliz Cumpleanos" to the waiter/manager that was waiting on us because she had learned that term in Spanish. It ended up actually being his birthday! Not kidding. So, ever since then we just tell him happy birthday everytime we see him. The food is great. They always have daily specials posted on their board as you come through the doors so check those out. The cheese dip is the white cheese and it's very reasonable in price. Good beer prices too.

Super cheap, authentic, super fast, super friendly. This place is well... Super! They treat you like family and will customize any dish for you. A pretty decent selection of vegetarian options as well. The house margarita is super strong but still tasty. Come here, dine, and tip these amazing people well!

Great fast food but the chips and Salsa are substandard. Prices are good and manager is nice. I love going there

I was absolutely starving when I sat down at El Sombraro with my boyfriend on Friday night. This was the, "I'll eat aboslutely anything because I haven't eaten in 6 hours" kind of hunger, or so I thought. Then the waiter sat chips and salsa in front of me that were inedible. To be fair I tried to eat the salsa but by all taste and appearances it looked as though they had taken bad jarred mild salsa and added chopped onoins, cilantro, and garlic to it. I ordered chicken tacos with rice and beans on the side and he ordered a chicken quesadilla also with rice and beans. When the dishes arrived we both stared at his quesadilla becasue they had made a quesadilla entree by takin a single soft taco shell, filling it with cheese and chicken, folding it in half, and grilling it. I guess it was technically a quesadilla but it certainly wasn't an entree. I received three flour tortillas filled with diced chicken and two small cups of salsa (pico de galla and a spicy salsa) on the side. There was no lettuce, sour cream, etc. I poured some of the pico de galla on the taco and attempted to eat it and it was so dry it was inedible. My boyfriend took a few bites of the taco and agreed that it was horribly dry. The chicken was just overcooked. After multiple attempts to hail a waiter I was finally successfully able to have some sour cream brought to the table. I drenched a taco in sour cream and ate it and then was done with that dish. I attempted the oddly colored refried beans and the rice but both were bland and texturallly displeasing. Eventually we gave up on the meal altogether and headed next door to satisfy my hunger with a quart of ice cream from Meijer.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
