Stopped in because it looked like a cozy place to have a meal...kinda like the old mom and pop place in the small town I grew up. Boy was I happy we stopped in, it ended up being one of the best homemade meals I have had in a long time, since we just relocated from Prince of Wales island in Alaska. We had the deep fried cod and it was excellent. I like the lunch room style setup and the friendly staff. You almost feel like your at thanksgiving dinner with the family. I highly recommend this place if you want to go into a food coma.

Ann's is a fantastic southern style option in the Jeffersonville area. The fried chicken was great and the roast beef au jus looks amazing. The white gravy and mashed potatoes were clearly from scratch and delicious. I'll be back. Robert

To whom it may concern ann's by the river is a great place too go for some good good food home cook style now coming from a person who loves too eat lol this is great the prices are reasonable the atmosphere is ok you have more seniors that comes in & eat a lot but for the most part everything is wonderful you know that it must be if I'm putting my stamp of approval on it which I don't make a habit of doing omg. So I will give my recommendations too come & eat here the food portions are huge so you v will get your monies worth I promise you will.

After finally being able to cross over the Big Four, hubby and I knew we wanted to explore Jeffersonville. I had no idea it is so very quaint over here! All of the stores have that low key, nostalgic feel. The little public garden across the street from Red Yeti is like a small secret in plain sight. I felt the only way to complete our afternoon is to have some old fashioned food. And what do we find? An old time cafeteria style diner at Ann's By the River. Right after you walk in, the dessert and salad selection actually precede the entrees. They all looked very tasty. I picked up a plate of deviled eggs. My choice of meat included: fried chicken, fried cod, roast beef and baked chicken. I can never pass up fresh fried chicken. Their version is big, juicy and perfectly seasoned, yum! My sides of mashed potatoes and soup beans were pretty standard. Hubby said his cod was good but its crispness did suffer a bit from having been on the hot line for a while. While we were eating, a lady brought out hot rolls from the oven and made rounds to offer them to all of the diners. We also adored that little train that runs above the dining space. The atmosphere is great for either a relaxed lunch or a quick bite. We will definitely be back the next time we walk over the bridge.

Such a wonderful and super delish place to eat everything is home made from scratch and you will indulge until you get sick!! I can't wait to eat here again!!!!! The employees are so so friendly and it feels like no one that walks in there is a stranger!!

If you want a hip place, this ain't it. It's an old-school cafeteria w/ a lot of senior citizens dining there. But the food is good, the people are friendly and the prices are low. Special shout-out to the fried chicken. Great option for Louisvillians walking over on the Big Four bridge if you want a stick-to-the-ribs meal. No adult beverages but you can grab one at the Red Yeti.

I hate to be that guy, but I thought the place was bland. The food had no flavor. This is the place I would take my 80 year old grandmother with acid reflux or digestive problems. And I'm sure she would adore it. The staff were super friendly.

I love this place. I'm not usually one to eat at places where the food is out under heat lamps but this place was delicious! You walk in, grab a tray, and tell the worker what you want (1 entree+2 sides+ biscuit =7.99). The workers were all very nice and seemed to have a good report with some regulars. I love places like that and fear they may no longer be around soon. Workers will load you up with your fixings and you pay at the end. I got the chicken, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. All were great and tasted like good ol' southern cooking. Boyfriend had the cod and said his was good too. I would recommend Anns to anyone looking for a bite in Jeffersonville. It's much better than the chains at the end of the road...

Such a nice little, quaint diner. Something for every taste bud. Friendly wait staff. Plus, they have a toy train that runs on a tRack hanging from the ceiling. Perfect for keeping busy kids entertained. Recommend to everyone.

I love this spot in Jeff. Down home cooking. It's been a while since I've been there but it was very good in the past.
