Villa Inn Restaurant & Spa Menu

Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics

Village Inn offers very few items edible for diabetics without any threat. You can avoid sandwiches and burgers at Village Inn and try the light breakfast items on the menu. You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Avoid Soup bowls and opt for cups instead at Village Inn.

We loved our one-night stay in "Stanza 1" on the top floor and only wish it could have been longer. This historic inn reminded us of charming small hotels we've enjoyed in Florence and Rome, but with a larger room and bathroom. (We learned upon reading the inn's history its architecture is indeed of Florentine inspiration.) Free, off-street parking was a plus. The neighborhood is fantastic -- we got out on foot immediately and found the convivial Tinker Street restaurant and wine bar. We also took a jog in the morning to ogle more of the diverse residential/religious architecture in the area. Here you are in the old stomping grounds of our 23rd president, Benjamin Harrison. His presidential site is a few houses down from the Inn (fantastic - get on a tour with Bob!) and he was a parishioner and Elder in First Presbyterian Church directly across the street. A Tiffany stained glass window, Angel of the Resurrection, commissioned by his widow after his death, is a major feature in the collection of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, taken from that very church. There is also an arts center and gallery located adjacent to the church. French toast in the morning was delish and fueled us for more adventures. You can have a restful stay and really see, do and learn a lot from this location.

My fiance booked us a room here for an evening as part of his proposal. He felt the customer service was easy to work with and didn't have any problems scheduling the room. Our first room was in the spa area which felt odd sharing a space with an additional business, however, once in our room it didn't feel so out of place. The room was small but clean and decorated with a contemporary decor as contrast to the Inns old world architecture. My fiance thought the bed was one of the most comfortable he's been in. The atmosphere was quaint and more freeing than a hotel feels. Breakfast was served in the morning in the restaurant. Our first days breakfast was a standard egg, waffle, and pre-made sausage along with a sophisticated continental breakfast spread to provide more variety. I can't recall what our second days breakfast was, though I remember it wasn't edible for either of us and he can stomach quite a bit; needless to say we did the continental breakfast that morning. If we're in Indy again we'd consider staying here again even with the odd room placement & 1 bad breakfast.

I give The Villa Inn 2 stars. The lady who preformed my pedicure took her time and get cared about my appointment. $60 is a little on the pricey side and nothing was special about the pedicure. About 2 years ago I had an amazing experience with the nail tech Lily- she was great! This is way I decided to go back. The front desk staff seemed annoyed and didn't have a smile on their face like I would have hoped. They didn't offer me a chance to rebook- which probably wouldn't have happened anyways just because $60 is a little steep. I may go back, but probably not.

The salon placed a fraudulent charge on my credit card. I was given a hard time the day I called to refute it. The salon is also very low class and has high prices for a "salon". If you are looking for a salon that provides a quality service, please don't come here. This salon doesn't have proper signs to let you know where you are to enter. The entrance/walkway from the parking lot is also very slippery, beware of where you walk.

Def a nice place to stay. I am the first person ever to stay in STANZA 7 (go me, go me!) Cute room. Only drawback would be the bathroom being on the first floor (and me doing the pee pee dance at 730am fumbling with the keys LOL). Staff is awesome. VERY PERSONAL service. Really truly caring and helpful. You MUST go see the breakfast room if you stay overnight. BEAUTIFUL!

I just had a hot stone massage with a deep tissue and aromatherapy upgrade. Ow my goodness :) i had Jill as my therapist! She was fantastic! And this compliment is coming from someone who had 100s of massages before. Jill is really good and very friendly :)

Things you never want to hear at the end of a manicure at a spa or salon: -Do you think I should just start over? -It should look better once you take a shower and pick off the stuff around your nails. I've heard both of these things at 2 separate appointments at the Villa this week. On the first appointment I was so dissatisfied with the manicure that I expressed my concern with the front desk staff. They said they'd make a note in my file (for what? I wasn't planning to return.) I wasn't pleased with that response so I called to speak with the owner to make her aware. She invited me back in for a complimentary re-do, and invited me to bring my sister along too for a comp'd mani as well which was quite generous. We accepted and went back for manis and unfortunately left with similar results on round 2. My service provider let me leave w/stained red fingertips (from the previous mani's removed polish on my skin), untrimmed cuticles, and polish under and around my fingernails. At the end I asked her if she could clean up at least one of the nails and she informed me that it would come off in the shower. (Note: I shouldn't have to take a shower for my mani to look decent) My sisters service provider gave a much cleaner mani and was incredibly sweet but unfortunately was double booked finishing up a hair color job during my sisters mani time. The stylist shampooed and blew dry another client while my sister sat with warm mitts on her hands to soften her cuticles. Both service providers commented on how they were short staffed and apologized for having to quickly wrap up our services. It wasn't clear to me why the owner would have booked an unsatisfied client at a time when her staff wouldn't be able to provide a high quality experience. I have had prior services at the Villa with mixed reviews each time. I may roll the dice and head back in for a lip wax or pedi (2 services I've been pleased with there in the past) in a pinch, but I will save the manicures for a salon that takes a more pride in the finished product.

Don't visit the spa. I called to book a late afternoon prenatal appointment and asked for a female therapist. They said that they could give me a 5pm with a male but the latest female appt was 1:45. I made the 1:45 work, although I wanted later, because I preferred the female therapist even if the time was inconvenient. When I showed up on time for the appt, a male therapist greeted me. I told him I had booked with a female. Big confusion, and awkward. They said if I had done so, it would have been marked (so it was my fault they messed up?) and that I could wait over an hour for the next available female prenatal massage appt. This means that in addition to messing up my appt, they did have available a later afternoon female therapist. So frustrating! Horrible that they messed up my appointment, my preference, and that they had a bad attitude. They did not offer any compensation, a discount on an additional treatment to fill the hour, or even a complimentary tea when I asked if there was a place nearly I could have a tea and wait (you don't want to wait inside, the "relaxation area" is a 5x6' claustrophobic den without a single fun magazine and it wreaks like a Yankee candle shop). Really awful experience. Finally, the massage. Not good. I think it was the therapist's first prenatal because I heard her asking how to set up the table. She felt really nervous the entire time. At the end when I got off the table, I felt really dizzy. It was scary and it lasted about 30 minutes. I do not think they know what they are doing with pregnant clients. I do not recommend.

We enjoyed dinner on the patio to celebrate our 10th anniversary. The mushroom bruschetta appetizer was really delicious. My chicken marsala was tender and tasty. My husband's pesto pasta had a lot of flavor. We will definitely go back, and looking forward to it. We want to enjoy the pretty dining room, but the weather was just too beautiful to not sit on the patio.

Although my review is pertaining specifically to our stay at the Villa Inn Bed & Breakfast, I would highly recommend anything they have to offer based on our stay. The staff is extremely nice, the place is kept up well, the rooms are adorable, and the amenities are surprisingly updated. This was my first B&B experience, and boy was it fantastic. The bed was awesome, the breakfast was incredible! We will be back soon.

This review is for the Spa at the Villa Inn. I am on the Villa e-mail list, and frequently get updates regarding specials and discounts. My husband had been studying for a big test, and I decided to book a last-minute couples massage for us due to a 50% off promotion that I was emailed about. Walking in, the decor and ambiance were pretty nice, and the front desk staff was friendly and polite. We were taken back for our massage at 5:27, even though we had a 5:45 appointment. We had booked a 75 minute couples massage. Our therapist offered us the restroom on our way back to our treatment room. We both decided to take advantage of it. We changed and were left alone for approximately 10 minutes, before our two therapists came back into the room to begin our treatments. I knew that my therapist was brand new (Jared), which was why our massage was half price. It wasn't a horrible massage, but it definitely wasn't great. He used varying amounts of pressure, sometimes barely even pressing on my skin. He did a good job on my shoulders and back. My husband's therapist was more experienced (Jill). He loved a few of the techniques she used, for example, one that was to benefit strained eyes, but he said while it was OK, it wasn't the best massage he has ever had. We both noticed that they paid a lot more attention to our legs and arms than on our shoulders/necks/backs, which is fine, just not what we both had expected or wanted. The room itself was a nice temperature, the massage tables were comfortable, the blankets they used on us were snuggle, and the lotions that were used felt good and smelled nice. However, the walls were paper thin, as I heard employees in a room nearby laughing and joking loudly during most of our massage, despite the relaxing music that was being played loudly. Our massages actually started around 5:41. We finished right around 6:40. When we went to check out, I asked if we could just pay for a 60 minute massage rather than a 75 minute massage, since we actually got just about one hour of massage time. The front desk staff went and got the manager for me to talk to. His exact words were "you were taken back to the treatment room at 5:27 and you left the treatment room at 6:42. your 75 minute time period includes dressing time and walking time." This is fine - I just wish I had been told ahead of time that my restroom break would cut into my massage time, even though we arrived early for our appointment. I also would request to not be given 10 minutes to change my clothes, as we laid on the tables waiting for our massage for 10 minutes. 10 more minutes of a massage that I was paying for would have been great. I understand that some walk time/dress time might cut into an appointment, especially if you arrive right on time or are late, but allowing THAT much time for changing seemed excessive to me. All in all, I don't feel too ripped off since we received a couples massage for half price ($120). The 60 minutes of massages that we actually had were average. If I had paid full price ($240) for this massage, I would be very disappointed. I have had massages all over Indiana, and do not plan to go back to the Villa unless they offer unbelievable prices. The massage was so-so, I didn't like the way the manager spoke to me about how my "walk time" was included in the 75 minute massage I was paying for, and you can get a better massage elsewhere for the same price.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The Villa Inn Restaurant and Spa goes down in the books for the worst possible customer service I have experienced in my entire lifetime, and probably my parents and grandparents lifetimes. For my birthday, my boyfriend surprised me with a spa day. I showed up at the Villa Inn 15 minutes before my appointment, as requested. Had a friendly conversation with the receptionist, Alexis, and she presented me with a birthday card that included a gift certificate for the spa services I was receiving that day. I thought this was such a nice gesture on part of the Villa Inn, maybe this is the only nice thing they did that day. I explained how my boyfriend surprised me with the spa package, and I had no idea what I was actually getting. She was very friendly, but at no point told me what was purchased for me. I waited for the 15 minutes in the lobby and had to listen to the staff talk about how awful their day was. So far at this point, I still had not been told what services I would be receiving. Around 4:18, the nail technician tells me she is ready for me. When she asked me what color I wanted, I mentioned I would like to have one of the shellac type manicures that last for 2-3 weeks. She rolled her eyes, and acted like it was a major inconvenience to make this change. While getting the manicure, I learned this technician was fresh out of cosmetology school. I guess that explains her unprofessional-ism. While performing the manicure, she mentioned several times that she had not eaten lunch yet and how tired she was from being on her feet all day. This again, made me feel really uncomfortable, as I felt like I was being an inconvenience to her. Wasn't I the one paying for services? It was pretty clear that she was a recent cosmetology school grad. The manicure I received was AWFUL. She got more polish on my skin then on my nails. She did not even clean my nails or shape them. They are imperfect and non-symmetrical ovals. There were bubbles in the dried polish. She forgot half way through how many times she was supposed to put each hand in the dryer. She forgot which hand had just been in the dryer. Within an hour of me leaving the spa that day, they already began chipping. I could have gotten a much better manicure at half the price at the normal walk-in nail salon I usually go to. While I was getting the manicure, the woman who was to perform my next spa service (a facial), showed up, telling the nail technician to hurry up because she was ready to go home. She lingered for a little while, the two of them talked more about how tired they were, how long the day has been, how ready they were to go home. ALL RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I get it, work can be tough, being on your feet all day and dealing with people can be exhausting. But, that is your job, and people pay you to provide the service you provide. The facial- She actually did a good job on the facial and was polite. My only complaint was that she smelled like stale cigarettes. It made me nauseous. It wasn't very relaxing. When the facial is over, I am told I can get dressed and that I am done. The woman performing the facial walked me back to the front desk to check out. The receptionist checked me out, I paid extra for the shellac manicure, gave a good tip because that is something I always do, and left. At no point during my time at the Villa Inn was I ever told what services I was going to be getting. About an hour later I get a phone call from my boyfriend asking me why I didn't show up for my massage. WHAT? I didn't know I was supposed to get a massage. I called the receptionist and she explained that the woman that did my facial didn't know I was getting the massage. She asked when I would like to come back in. I said I would rather have the money refunded, then come back in and told her about my experience with the manicure and the facial. She needed to talk to her manager. After a week of going back and forth, I finally talked to the GM this morning. He was the most awful human being I have ever encountered. Off the bat, he copped an attitude with me and lacked complete professionalism. He was yelling at me. He will not refund the money that was paid for the services not rendered, because I decided not to have the massage. I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS SCHEDULED FOR A MASSAGE. He told me that I was rude to the staff. I am a southern woman, we are only rude to people behind their backs. I am okay not getting refunded for the poor services, but not refunding for services you failed to perform is ROBBERY. We are disputing the charges, filing a claim with small claims court, and a claim with the BBB. DO NOT GO TO THE VILLA INN. This will be posted in several other media outlets.

I've only gone to lunch at the Villa Inn once, and I knew it was a spot I want to go back to soon. I'm a sucker for bed & breakfasts, and this quaint little inn comes close to the type I love. I can tell this is a great place to stay for a quick getaway, even if it's in the same city we live in. But anyway ... back to lunch. I had a great lunch that didn't feel like lunch. I had grilled salmon with rice and asparagus ... and it was great. I thought it was reasonably priced for the amazing surroundings and the beautiful way it was presented. Mmm mmm mmm. Lunch and dinner menus don't differ much ... just in price. My fave: Try the chocolate volcano dessert!

This place seemed to be almost deserted but it was nice to have the place to ourselves. The room was cozy, elegant but small as well. I didn't like having to sit so close to the other table. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the Pancetta Tortellini and it was out of this world! My husband sampled mine and we both agreed that this dish will be all we will order every time we come back again!

I have had the displeasure at eating at this restaurant on two occasions. The food is expensive and tastes like cardboard. Our waitress was a moron to add insult to injury. I WOULD NEVER EVER EAT HERE AGAIN.

I used to live next door, so I chose this place initially on its convenient location, but I really like it, so despite having moved farther away, I still come here. To be honest, I only come here for my bikini wax, but Lilia Rosales is the best. I've had a couple other waxers, too, and they are all very sweet, professional, and good at their job! I've looked at their menu many times and it sounded great, but I've never eaten here.

A friend of mine and I went to the villa inn for hot stones massages. We both very much enjoyed our massages (done by Tanya and Jeff). I know that when I want a spa experience, with a relaxing and pampering environment with highly skilled staff, I can trust that I will get that experience at the Villa Inn.

This review is for the restaurant at the Villa. They claim to serve Italian food, in reality there is very little Italian about their food. It just seems like one of those highly overhyped places, simply because of their seemingly better decor. Forget about it, it's just not. Everything is really over priced for what you are getting. All the dishes are neither authentic, nor taste good. Quality of ingredients is fairly low, couple that with incredibly high prices and you have yourself a recipe for a big rip-off! Cheers!

My wife and I tried the Villa Restaurant this past Friday evening. It is an amazing location. The interior was in great shape for a building built at the turn of the century. I am a big fan of Italian food so I ordered the pasta with Shrimp and it is served with a spicy sauce. My wife ordered the spagetti and meatballs. The food was served in a fair amount of time, not to fast not too slow. The service was friendly this evening. They actually have quite a few desserts on the dessert menu. It also seems they have a fair amount of choclote type desserts and have dessert flight so you could come here for just the dessert. The typical pasta dinners are around $20. They did have a good wine menu, but I just settelled for an Amstel. This would be the go to place for any type of romantic event ie anniversary, dates, or just a quiet evening. A bonus is that the venue has its own parking on site so you dont have to drive around or spend extra for parking. Back to the food, the food tasted great, they can adjust the spice on the dish and I was quite happy. Ordered the Tiramasu for dessert it was also good and left happy.

I had a gift certificate to use so I booked a 75-minute deep tissue massage and a spa manicure. David worked wonders. He released several knots in my back and overall, the massage was very, very good. Lillia did my manicure. She did a great job with everything. My only complaint is the polish less than 24 hours later. Luckily, my gift card covered it but if I was paying out of my own pocket, I would not be pleased. I'd go back for a massage or facial, but probably not for a mani/pedi.

Food tried: - Mediterranean Pasta ($16) - Lotus White Zinfandel ($24/bottle) I am recently an addict of Restaurant.com , which allows me to get discounted coupons for various restaurants in the area. Lately, that has taken me to some interesting places, including The Villa. For the most part, I really enjoyed my experience. The ambiance is really the key to The Villa. I walked in, and suddenly stepped out of Indianapolis. The architecture and decoration is all very European, and foreign. I like. The restaurant and lounge areas are cozy and classy. The server I had was a friendly young man who was attentive throughout our experience. My food was delicious, even though some complain of its inauthenticity. I will say that no Italian portions are so big or so heavy, but the ingredients were still delicious and flavorful, even as leftovers. They have an excellent wine selection and are not too unreasonably priced (even if a bit above my normal range, and particularly high for not being directly downtown). It is the kind of place I would bring my parents for a nice meal, because it is an adult/stuffy/formal kind of place. Still, I'd recommend it for a nice date. I'd certainly be wooed if taken on a date there (in fact, I was). It's different than anywhere else I've been to eat in the city, and definitely has great decor. I'd be very interested in trying the spa services. Someday!

I've been to the spa here twice for waxings. Ambiance is nice and relaxing--they don't have showers or whirlpools and stuff, but they have a full line of body and nail treatments available. there's always an online coupon on one of the Indy sites, i think it's doingIndy or something. I had Autumn once and I forget the other girl's name, but they both did a pretty good job. One used only the hot wax and strips, Autumn used both the strips and the hardening wax and she spent more time on me. They were both very nice and I didn't have any complaints. Prices are comparable to other salons in the city. I've never eaten or stayed here.

I used the Villa Inn for our spa pampering day with my bridesmaids before our wedding. We had manicures and pedicures followed by lunch. I was very pleased with the quality of the manicure and the pedicure. The services were top notch and I wouldn't hesitate to use the Villa Inn again for their spa services. Lunch was very good, everything was very fresh and used very little unnecessary fats and oils. I was very pleased with the service and the amount of attention our group was given. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a similar experience!
