Is it Union Jack or Union Jack's? Either way, this place was not exactly what I expected, although I didn't have too many expectations to begin with...aside from the fact that it gets so many glowing reviews. I came here with a bachelorette party and was expecting a livelier atmosphere, but I guess I was wrong to think so. What about this place makes it a "pub" exactly? It was practically dead on a Saturday night. They are apparently known for their pizza, but I wasn't impressed. Just tasted like regular, bland pizza with stale toppings. There was nothing terribly wrong with Union Jack, just nothing special either.

Worst Ruben I have ever paid for. Chips and Cheese was a joke. Maybe I should have stuck with pizza cuz the food I had went right from my plate into the trash!

I've heard a lot about this Union Jack's pizza biz, so when given the opportunity to try it, I was all aboard that train! We went for the deep dish meat pizza and let me tell you...this may be sliding right up to my favorite pizza place in Indy...no joke people, this place has got it goin on! Our server was training someone, which sometimes can slow things down, but this crew was on their game because not only were they super helpful and quick to get our order in and out to us, they were super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about that menu! Can't wait to come in and get another 'za!

Soccer and beer! Seriously, Union Jack is great for those who are beer fanatics, soccer fanatics or simply soccer and beer fanatics. Indy Eleven games are always televised here and the small pub makes for a great fan atmosphere. Be careful though, if you want a decent viewing table you have to head there early.

This is a great soccer bar. I have been here a few times to watch games. The space is big enough to be able to play multiple games at the same time too. Service has always been pretty solid too. They have some nice beers on tap..a bit more european oriented. The menu is big too. Last time I went I had the pork tenderloin. It was massive and delicious. Plus Chelsea won that day so it was a good time!

Nice beer selection and soccer is on the tv a lot of the time which pleases my husband. A okay bar food. I usually get the planet burger and fries. My favorite was the Texas toast grilled cheese and onion rings but they did away with the sandwich and switched to premade onion rings at some point. Bummer. The lady who waits on us during the day is always super pleasant. Enjoyable lunch + beer.

Ordered a pizza late last night--waitress said I only have 4 minutes left to order...and so I ordered and then waited. The pizza ended up being a take out because I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and they had all the windows open for whatever reason, it was 56 degrees outside and inside the bar. I've concluded the pizza is probably more delicious if I had drank something much stronger than a Coke. I heard so many good things about their deep dish pizzas. For nearly $30, I was not impressed with their product. Although it was smothered in cheese, the pizza sauce was so thick it was caked in our teeth, and the crust was super crusty--like a biscuit that sat in the warmer way too long. Obviously they are selling pizza's, but I didn't love it.

I have no complaints of this place! I got lucky and loved everything we ordered. We came here yesterday on a weekday to redeem our groupon. We sat ourselves and there were plenty of seats. They have a nice window that opened a whole wall for guest to people watch or whatever. Its a nice touch. The place had a nice feel, I do imagine if I was in a British pub it would look like this one. They have quite an overwhelming menu, like we seriously could not decide. So we decided on there fish and chip and personal pub pizza. Of course if you are gonna be at the pub dont forget your the beer! It was $5 wine day which was Thursday but pizza does not taste right with wine. You need a nice beer on tap to go with it. We decided on zombie dust (my favorite) and Shakespeare stout. The stout was ok, its bitter which I am still getting too but the zombie dust is soooo refreshing. i wish I can get a growler full of that if i could! The pizza was soo good! For a 7 inch it was nice and thick, almost felt like a pizza pie. On the top, all you see is cheese but when you cut into there is layers of cheese, sausage, and pepperoni. It was delicious and I couldn't finish it, I made my boyfriend finish it for me because it was too big. Thank goodness we didnt get the 12 inch, i imagine it would of been a struggle. And it would of taken much longer too, so good thing I went with 7 inch. My bf enjoyed his fish and chips, to me it taste like chicken tenders. It was good but I was expecting it to taste like fish. Overall food was great, server was attentive and wonderful. She made sure to redeem our groupon to make sure we get our final check without the swapping back and forth. Overall great place for beer on tap and super cheesy pizza!

I love this place! We have been going here for years! Hands down my favorite pizza place! I have eaten at a lot of pizza places and yet I still Union Jack is my favorite! The staff isn't always great, and the pizza takes a little while to make but that's ok it's worth the wait!

Really stellar service tonight at Union Jacks. Mozzarella sticks were cheesy. Chicken strips were chickeny. Loaded fries were the bomb. And my personal pan pub pizza was full of pizzaz. Our server was very friendly, bubbly and sparkleeee. With so many choices in the area it had been a long time since we had been in. We choose a good night.

Union Jack has been on my list of must try's in brip so when I walked into 10-01 on a Monday night forgetting they are closed, I knew it was a sign to try Union Jack. I was a little leery considering the windows were wide open on a HUMID late afternoon in August and the AC was not on but I pressed on. I was sat at a booth with vinyl covering, for those of you unfamiliar with vinyl seating on hot, humid, Indiana afternoon this is a bad combination! After sitting for several minutes and perusing the on tap list, I tried to order two different beers and was told that they were out and that the list I was reviewing was not accurate. The waitress read off a list of what they did have on tap and I ended up trying a hard cider, as I am on a mission to find the worlds best apple juice...I mean beer! Next I ordered, knowing that they were famous for their pizza I ordered the deep dish with garlic and basil, how can you go wrong? Well, I was wrong. The pizza came out in a reasonable amount of time but the pizza was one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. The crust was doughy and undercooked, the cheese was nothing special other than the copious amounts that overwhelmed the pizzas, and finally the sauce was reminiscent of a low grade marinara that you could buy from a grocery store. It lacked fresh flavor and tasted like it had been sitting in a can for quite some time. I had a slice and couldn't eat anymore. My friend ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich which has the most odoriferous pungent smell. I had to leave the table while she ate because I thought I was going to get sick. Overall, I was super disappointed seeing as I had such high hopes for Union Jack. The only positive I can find is that they have a good location and are open late.

Oh Union Jack... amazing fish and chips, great deep dish pizza, just the slowest service ever. My party was there later on a Sunday evening and decided to order the pretzels appetizer before our meal. After waiting for almost 40 minutes and not even seeing our server, the appetizer came out with the rest of our food. So much for that... Bottom line, I love Union Jack and their food, the fun soccer atmosphere and the drinks, but their service and speed could stand some improvement.

I'm not super impressed with my first visit here. It took a long time to get our food (almost 30 minutes) and it was subpar. I got the fish tacos with pineapple salsa, and the salsa was too spicy for my palette. I've had better fish tacos elsewhere. Also, service wasn't great. The server forgot napkins and silverware :/

Best Reuben I've ever had! If you loved Reuben's you have to try one from Union jacks. The service and atmosphere has always been great. Never had a complaint!

My husband and I stopped here while in Broad Ripple and there is no shortage of options. Our sever Kimmie was awesome - as was the "pre-server" getting our drink menus while she was busy. Service gets a 5 star all night. We ordered the fish and chips, and pulled pork nachos based off of other reviews. The fish and chips lived up to our expectations, but the pulled pork was pretty average. There wasn't a whole lot of pulled pork on the dish. All in all, a solid choice though. (And great beer selection!)

Came with a large group for a soccer game, place was at about half capacity. Drinks were in quickly, and the selection was good. Here's where the good stuff stopped. After placing our orders we watched groups come in, sit down, order, eat, and leave. We didn't receive our food until about the 75th minute of the game. All simple stuff, sandwiches, fries, salad. The wait was unexplainable.

Union Jack's is a solid choice in Broad Ripple. Known for their pizza and beer menu, they do not disappoint. I came here about 2 weeks ago with 2 other couples and we had a good time. The service was a bit questionable, as the waiter did not know the drink specials, the soup du jour, or even the menu specials. It is a tad annoying that he had to "run and ask". Other than that, everything seemed fine. Prices were reasonable, and we enjoyed our night. My husband enjoyed his fish and chip and said the small portion was exactly perfect for his appetite (he never eats a full meal!). I enjoyed the white chicken chili, which was very good, and followed that up with the california chicken wrap. It was also good. Overall, its a good spot to catch up with friends and enjoy some food and drinks.

I ordered Merlot red wine. It was really good with bbq and hot sauce chicken wings. We ordered french fries basket and the chef accidentally put bacon and cheese. They gave it as free. How great! Overall, one of the good place to drink among broad ripple pubs. PS it is a bit lout, i mean it's a pub.

Once again, our favorite pizza place proves to still have the VERY best deep dish pizza around. Bravo, UJ's, bravo!

Went to Union Jack's for the first time this past weekend with a group of friends. Just want to say that our waitress was AMAZING. I wish I remembered her name and then she would truly get the Yelpy recognition that she deserves! She was attentive, outgoing, funny and prompt. My water glass was always filled, and any time a beer glass was empty, she was there asking if we would like another (that's a rhetorical question, by the way). We got the chips and queso as an app and ordered the Italian Pesto pizza. The chips and queso were good.. I mean... I don't know how you make chips and queso original, but it did the trick. They did put a few jalapenos in it so I liked that! Our pizza was really good too. We didn't opt for the deep dish - we got the traditional crust (due to an unfortunate incident in Chicago, it's difficult for me to eat deep dish without recalling bad memories!) and it was very yummy! Our pizza had huge chunks of ricotta cheese which were delicious. My friend did order the deep dish though and she had nothing but great things to say. I also stole a couple french fries off of my friend's plate and damn, those fries were delicious!! Lots of beer selection - was able to snag a couple Gumball Heads before the tap ran out - although I didn't see any really good and appealing drink specials. It was Saturday though, so during the week, it might be different. Overall, I really liked this place and would go back for another friend get-together and some beers and pizza.

I have been eating Union Jacks since I was a child and although I don't frequent there often I can say they are my favorite pizza spot in Indianapolis. Some may say their pizza prices are a bit steep but IT IS VERY WELL WORTH IT! Their deep dish pizza is to die for and can be taken home to ear for lunch and possibly dinner the next day. Whenever pizza is mentioned in Indianapolis is mentioned they are always on the top of my list!

It's got a British theme; what else but Fish & Chips! The plate was delightful! Staff pleasant and accommodating to special requests for menu adjustments. If I were a local, I'd be eating here often!!! Atmosphere good - inviting!

So underwhelming. The pizza subpar. The sauce gross. The special midtown menu - not a deal at all. The dessert was like a strawberry short cake frozen from a grocery store and was not at all strawberry shortcake. There was one strawberry on it and it was mushy. The AC was broken and the place was at least 80 degrees. Never would recommend or return. We wanted to watch the soccer games with the family but the screens in the restaurant portion are not big. Staff being kind gets the two stars.

No doubt about it, this is my favorite Sunday brunch location for good friends, yummy grub & some mean bloody marys! Not sure what to order? I last ordered the Big Daddy breakfast (3 eggs cooked to order, with extra thick bacon, coin potatoes and an English muffin); big enough to share with a friend if you'd like. They also make an 8" breakfast pizza for two and a very tasty spinach and artichoke dip. Honestly, it's about the drinks for me. A little hair of the dog is sometimes very necessary, and Jennifer serves them up just right! Not down with the bloody marys? Try a tequila sunrise, mimosa or a black and tan. Any of the above will have you springing back in a jiff... or taking an afternoon nap, which, on a Sunday afternoon isn't such a bad idea anyway. When the weather is cooperating, the windows are opened and tough pulling me away from the cool breeze that flows through the bar, especially with such wonderful company. Go and take friends.

Union Jack looks like it would be a typical Broad Ripple place from the outside, especially if there's a soccer game going on and tons of people are inside yelling. But, it's one of the few places in the area that I enjoy visiting. It's especially nice during the summer when the windows are up. The bar has a good selection, and the bartender is usually pretty knowledgeable about what they have. As for the actual restaurant, I've never had a bad experience. The food isn't the type of food I usually go for, but it's pretty good. I highly recommend The Reuben if you don't plan on getting a gigantic pizza. Not to mention, the price of the food is great considering the huge portions. The service is also always great--even tolerating the huge groups of drunk people with patient smiles. More power to them.

This is a great little English Pub in Broad Ripple - it's the destination for solid pizza. They are one of the few places that I like to go to get a nice Chicago deep-dish style, and it's mighty tasty. I am also a big fan of the reasonably priced 'pick-two' lunch special, which allows you to combine a select sandwich with any soup or most salads. They have a great brunch, too. There is plenty of seating in the main dining area, and also at the bar. They have a fantastic draft beer selection and a good variety of bottles too. Quite a few locals and some really awesome seasonal. They have a few picks from Bell's, which is one of my favorite breweries in the Midwest. The decor here is what you would expect from a classic English pub - dark, woody paneling with random bits'o'art hanging everywhere. There are some really cool prints from the Indy 500 back in the day; some which I wouldn't mind having. Call me egotistical, but one of my favorite things about the Union Jack is the address, which happens to be my birthday digits. Yeah, pretty lame.

Just ate here for dinner, ordered the personal pan pizza, signature sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni and sausage. Hands down some of the best pizza in Indy. I'm a fan for deep dish and this was phenomenal. The sauce was great. The cheese was gooey and stuck to the pizza. Definitely order pizza. Or if you don't want to, the chicken fingers are pretty good.

I had not been to Union Jacks in years was a one time visit and didnt even remember much about it. I decided to come after watching the Colts get pummeled and wanted a place with decent booze selection to drown my sorrows. It was a sunday afternoon and was not very busy at all. We decided to sit in one of the small dining areas that had a big TV in it to watch the rest of the days games. The waitress was very friendly and was managing the entire dining room of about 12 people and doing a great job at it. We ordered our drinks and some late lunch. I got a Bloody Mary that i must say was pretty good (not amazing or spectacular) but after ordering another was good and very consistent!! (important) was trying to stay on the light side after drinking a boat load of beer at the game and got a chicken wrap with their home made cole slaw. Very good!! it came with a BBQ sauce that may or may not have been store bought but it was good, the wrap was tasty and fresh and the slaw was very very good for home made!! All in all we had a very good experience. service great food good (I'm sure would say great if i had tried your specialties like your deep dish pizzas..just can't eat that now...diet...but plan too and will inform when i do, because I've heard from others that its out of this world) drinks good+ (liked the updated printout of current beers on tap and drink specials) I will be back

There is really only one reason to go to union jacks: the deep dish pizza. Outside if Chicago, this is the best place to get a deep dish pie. If you ask, they might even make you the lasagna deep dish, even though it's not on the menu. Fair warning, it does take about an hour to get one of these pies. The rest of the food here is not memorable, and the service leaves a lot to be desired. On my last visit, we were seated quickly and ordered some sandwiches and drinks, during a slow dinner time. We got the drinks quickly, but the food took a while. They were out of some of my favorite local beers, so I decided to try a local gingerbread beer. I hated it. I don't find myself hating beer much, and I can't remember the last time I couldn't drink a beer that was placed in front of me. But I took one drink and that was the end. After the waitress cleared our plates, she asked why I didn't drink my beer. I told her I didn't like it. She told me I should have said something, but in reality she hadn't been back to our table since bringing our food. She did however bring me a different beer, which was delicious. But she forgot to bring the second round for one of my companions, which she didn't notice until she returned 20 minutes later to see if I liked my beer. Overall, we were looking for a quick dinner and spent over an hour in the place. Come hungry for a deep dish pizza or don't come at all.

I've gone to this place twice. It isn't impressive at all. The interior is extremely tacky and our waiter reeked of marijuana. The pizza is extremely greasy and the crust tastes exactly like cardboard. I gave it two chances and I can say I will never be returning here. Probably one of the worst pizza places in the area. I would rate it zero stars if I could.

Eeeeh. Little tiny lady behind the bar gave off such a bad vibe before I even sat down at the bar. She rudely said we are not serving food other than fried foods and pizza. Uh ok. Sat down and tried looking over the menu with my friend and everything we asked about she rudely replied. Food was ok. Although the pizza was good, not the best. Would not be returning because homegirl was rude.

It took 30 minutes for our NY style thin crust pizza, which turned out to be neither crusty nor anywhere resembling a big apple pizza (given that we lived in the North East for a while). Instead we got a soggy concoction overwhelmed with cheese. Our salad had greens which were borderline rotten. Needless to say a waste of time, money and taste!

I will be honest, I generally avoid Broad Ripple proper, even though its very close to me. I've decided to venture down there a bit more on occasion to support my local community. Most of the bars and restaurants simply will not please me. And, I had always judged Union Jack in a way that kept me from entering. Last night, I found out this book just has the wrong cover... or maybe is just on the wrong shelf. I strolled in at the end of their night. They close earlier than the rest of the strip. This flushes out most of the sloppy element of the neighborhood. What remained of my evening was great bar service, great beer, a very clean environment, adult conversation, and ESPN on the TV. As far as the taps were concerned, our bar tender was very happy to make suggestions and sample out whatever we were interested in. We had friendly conversations on the brews and even a few laughs. After trying a Flat 12 cucumber Kölsch, I decided on a Sun King Big H. It was a nice summer evening and it was the perfect end of the night brew. Final note, and insider tip: If you go during dining hours, request Kimmi as your server! She is super friendly, very well versed on the menu and taps, and a yelper with a great passion for the dining experience. This service simply cannot be emphasized enough!

I love union jacks! I'm a sucker for queso and theirs is amazing! I also love the rest of the menu. The portobello sandwich calls to me and the BLT is incredible (ps. add a fried egg). I'm not personally a fan of the pizza, but many are, so who am I to say. The service has always been fantastic and they typically have good specials. Finally, their brunch! What can I say, I love a place with good hollandaise. Plus, the bloody mary's are on point.

Great pizza, dark wood Brit pub- footy on the TVs, and tasty pints. It's a bit small & difficult to find parking but worth it for the pizza or fish & chips.

I'll keep this review simple. The pizza and beer selection at Union Jack's is probably the best in the city. I can't find better deep dish pizza in the city. No place even comes close. I'm also very happy with the selection of micro brews on tap. The service has always been very good and when I get something other than pizza, I'm never disappointed. Enjoy the pizza and beer on your next visit.

I made the attempt to let Union Jack redeem itself, and it actually has done so. My roomie and I walked over for a drink and a bite around lunchtime. The usual: Strongbow on tap. Plus, I wanted a happy bowl of French onion soup since it was cold and snowing. Even though I was leery of going through another annoying customer service experience, I mustered up some high hopes. We sat at the bar, and I noticed that the usual shenanigans were nonexistent in the day hours. Only a few folks at the bar, and one or two tables occupied. The bartender was super cool - more professional, yet chill. The soup was, of course, divine. Nick got some loaded fries, which looked like a heart attack on a plate: fries, cheese, and bacon. Wow. Really good, but I could only do a couple bites. After sitting at the bar for a bit to chat and enjoy our drinks, the bartender asked if we wanted dessert. Since neither one of us are "dessert people", we passed but it was nice of her to ask all the same. We left quite happy. I must say that if this kind of service becomes a trend, I will change my stern viewpoint of this establishment. Well done!

i used to go to the one in speedway (my fiance at the time worked there) but never really actually ate there much. after a trip to broadripple yesterday, i wouldn't mind going back! the chicken velvet soup, although not what i was expecting (in bloomington at yogi's, it's more of a brothy cream soup), was amazingly flavorful! i've also had the white chicken chili in the past, which i recall liking a lot too. i've never had a cuban sandwich before but theirs sounded really good, & it was! drippy & messy but worth it. the fries were hot & fresh too. my friend had a reuben & salted caramel dessert; i think she said the sandwich was ok (& messy) & she ate the whole dessert so i'm guessing it was good. my fiance really really liked the bristol club i brought home for him! all in all, good bar with some really good food. place me next to the open window on one of these nice summer days...even better!

Average food. I wouldn't recommend the fish and chips, unless you're not hungry... The dinner portion came with one piece of fish and a few fries. The cole slaw is nothing to write home about (maybe GFS or some other mass produced garbage.)

Service ok. It was empty but it was a Tuesday night. Great bar and pub seating area. Enjoyed my vegetarian, sloppy, spicy mushroom "burger" opted for pepper cheese to the blue. Love a grilled mushroom that's seasoned. That and a Strongbow was just right. Can't recall what dan had???

My husband and I both loved this place! We are from chicago and have been trying for two years since relocating to Indy to find a good deep dish chicago pizza. We have found it!! The cheese is fantastic. The atmosphere at the pub is great. A lot of wood. All the waiters and waitresses were very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be going back again!

I was excited for Union Jack's.. but left a bit unsatisfied. I met a friend here for dinner and found the place pretty close to empty. I was expecting to see this place a bit more busy as there were people everywhere in Broad Ripple. We were sat out in a distant corner in the side room.. After waiting for someone for a few minutes we finally walked back up front and asked them to sit us somewhere else. We ordered a few drinks.. Their beer selection is great and well priced. They also have a good chunk of liquor. Our food came out at a decent rate. I got the Italian beef.. and it was unlike most italian beef I've had. It wasn't all the great. The flavor was lacking with the exception of the peppers. The beef lacked some love and needed some more spices and herbs. The bread was good Good place for me to drink.. but maybe not the best place for me to eat. The pizza is supposed to be good, but again, not my flavor as its HUGE and thick.

definitely don't see the appeal in this place. i tried the pizza..... way too heavy. I also had a pork tenderloin sandwich is usually a favorite of mine but at this place it was just nasty. i guess this place is just good when your looking for a place to watch the game but other than that the food is not worth the calories.

Why hello perfect pub close to my home. Great setting for a group of friends in desperate need to chill out from work. The pizza was phenomenal. I decided to order a "snakebite." A lovely mixture of Stella and Strongbow. Nothing crazy, but wonderful nonetheless. The reason for the 3 stars is due to the fact that our server would not buzz off. I should have just told her to buzz off now that I think back. There's a fine line between being attentive and being annoying. Learn the difference. :-) During my "let's go to Broadripple this weekend to get crazy!" phase, I rarely stopped at pubs where I could just relax. Now, that's all I crave. It brought memories back of me stopping in pubs in London. Anything that triggers memories of abroad is a-ok in my book.

Such amazing service. Their staff is so knowledgable on beer it's insane!!! The potato soup might be the best thing God has ever created. Tuesday nights they have this hilarious pub feud and if you get a good group of friends together to play it's a great time! The big schroom app is amazeballs.

Sometimes when we go to Broad Ripple and not quite sure where to eat, we end up at Union Jack. Nothing to truly write home about but somehow we always end up here. Food : 4/5 - I don't have a favorite meal on the menu, but I haven't been terribly disappointed by the food. Beer : 4/5 - Though I generally drink local beers, I always go for the Black & Tan, the Snakebite or the Cider and Stout when I'm here Location : 4/5 - Clean, Tries to do the Pub feel though there is nothing truly authentically British about the place Service : 3/5 - Can be spotty

Stopped in the other night for Pub Feud. It's definitely a fun way to spend a Tuesday evening. The beer list was undergoing some re-tooling, so it was rather disappointing, but that might be a temporary glitch. Our food was decidedly meh, with the lukewarm nacho appetizer having less flavor than a Taco Bell bean burrito. Of course, what do you expect ordering Mexican food in a British pub?? Pretzels were good, prices skewed a bit high, service was prompt and friendly. I wasn't blown away by the place, but will definitely go back to try the deep dish pizza in the near future.

Since i have moved down to Broad Ripple a couple of years ago, this is one of my favorite places to eat! Ive Always have had a great expierence here..I have ordered a variety of menu items~ pizza, turkey burger, chix fingers, soups, but my favorite is half order fish n chips!! Yum Yum (The full order is way too big for 1) If youre up for a great meal consider going to Union Jacks! They always impress!!

This place seems to be *the* hot-spot to cure your hangover on a Sunday morning. I came here for lunch on Sunday and saw almost every table full of people in sunglasses sipping on their Bloody Marys! I love coming here when it is warm and sunny out, because they have huge windows that open onto B-Rip Ave. I love it because it's the comfort of dining inside with the fresh air and people watching associated with dining outside. Get a table by the windows on a nice day if you can. Food here is slightly upgraded bar food. Good burgers, yummy chicken and a great beer selection. I ordered a breaded chicken sandwich here on Sunday and it was perfect. I've been in here with people that have ordered pizza and they've loved it as well. The service was also great. We looked like one of the few people not nursing our bad decisions from Saturday night, so our waitress was extra friendly. She kept my diet sodas with lime coming the whole time. I love not having to ask for a refill. All in all: This place is a great restaurant, but also a great bar. I'd come here on a Friday or Saturday when I wanted a laid back place to drink, talk and play cards.

Our party of four easily found a table on a Saturday night around 5:15. They have parking in a small parking lot in the back but hard to find an open space. This is a large restaurant with a bar side....with dining tables, and a good size separate dining area. The varied menu offers a number of sandwiches, salads and pizza. Although I thought this was a pizza place, they have something for everyone on the menu. There is also a large selection of bottled and draft beer. The draft beer is available in three sizes, 16 to 25 ounces plus pitchers. The server immediately greeted us and quickly took our orders. We ordered the 16 inch deluxe regular crust pizza. It was great. It is not their thickest crust, but is still a thick pizza with lots of meat and cheese and easily serves four people. Overall a good experience. I highly recommend for pizza.

My wife & I went on a Tuesday night for her birthday and loved it! The crowd was kinda thin (it was Tuesday, after all) but the food was AMAZING! She got a personal pan pizza, I had fish & chips, and let me say again - it was AMAZING! They had a great drink list as well with dozens & dozens of craft brews, a whole list of whiskeys, wines, etc. The service was wonderful - all the staff had a personable, caring attitude without being fake or overly polished. They also had a "family feud" style game for the entire place with was different and fun.

One of the best deep dish pizza's I have eaten. And believe me that covers a lot of pies through out the country. I still am amused that this is an English Pub. In the beginning they may have had more authentic dishes but that was probably 30 years ago;or more. But when you are in the food business you have to cater to customers tastes. And in my limited experience, not having "authentic" British food may not be a bad thing. All I can say is a personal size deep dish pie, huge mugs of beer and better than outdoor seating makes for one hell of a great mid week lunch. You see it can be fun to be part of the idle gentry, or an old retired dude.

Excellent place for soccer. Good Italian beef and pizza. It's old school and not too many college kids.

Union Jack's was okay. Just okay. I wasn't overwhelmed by the food, but it was good. Maybe because I had a chicken wrap instead of pizza, I don't know. I thought it was pricey, $8 for cheesesticks? $10 for a wrap? I didn't fall in love. I ate my meal and was satisfied. The liquor list is pretty impressive, so that was a plus. I'd probably eat here again but it's not someplace I'd go out of my way to go to.

I contacted the manager (Tom Campbell) yesterday and he apologized for us being overcharged on Friday night and said he would gladly refund me for the overcharge. Since my SIL paid cash, I just needed to stop in and pick up the refund. The manager showed me that this establishment values its customers. After my 10 mile Broad Ripple hike today, I stopped into Union Jack for the refund...and to treat myself to the fish and chips. Yummy! I'll definitely come back here.

I went to dinner here on a Monday night with my friend Amanda. I was born in England, so I wanted to see what a local English pub had to offer. The inside is fantastic. The walls are covered in British memorabilia of all sizes, types, backgrounds, mediums, and consistencies. I could spend hours looking at everything on the walls. We sat down and were quickly intercepted by a waiter. He classically asked us for our drinks orders, and we both ordered pints of draft Bell's Two Hearted Ale. It was as delicious as I have ever had. They had a separate menu for their pizzas, which they pointed out as having a reputation of being amazing, but I wanted something with more of a personal feel--something that was house created or from the misty streets of an English town. They had English classics such as bangers and mash, bird stew, shepherd's pie, and trifle, as well as something that was so hard for me to turn down: Irish nachos. I ended up getting the Union Jack steak sandwich and onion rings, which came with a Bourbonnais sauce, and my friend ordered the broccoli flatbread melt with fries. We both drank two pints of Two Hearted with our meal. We both loved our meals. The pub is neat because there's a wall that separates the more bar-oriented side where one would come simply to drink and watch a game with the side that seems to cater mainly to people wanting to eat dinner. Behind us sat a family with children. Including my tip, my meal and drinks came out to around $24. I couldn't complain about it and was deeply appreciative of the experience. The pub closes early compared to other bars in the area, so don't seek this out if you're looking for a late evening out. My parents are visiting me this weekend and my mom is as English as they come and I'm excited to take her to Union Jack to experience a little slice of home in the center of Indiana.

Kept hearing about Broad Ripple on our first trip to Naptown for GenCon, but little did we know how many places there were to choose from! This little pub is super cozy with great historical decor, the food was delicious & menu choices varied still with the traditional pub choices. Beer choices weren't so impressive but I really can't complain. Service was great & next time, we will try the deep dish pizza that all other reviews have raved about!

We had pizza and beer here... the NY style pizza was pretty good... nice crust. We ordered the margarita which was no where close to what a real margarita pizza is supposed to be like. Way too much melted mozzarella not enough basil.... but I really liked the crust!! The grand mimosa was pretty tasty and so were the beers.

It took me forever to finally go to Union Jacks, and I live in the Broad Ripple area. I wanted to, just never did. It's definitely the place to go in Broad Ripple to get an "pub" feel, esp. if you like to watch Futball (soccer). Since I do not like that, I don't care. What I do care about is pizza, and they have a great assortment of pies. Definitely the largest selection of styles of pizza I have seen in Indy. They feature Chicago-style, Stuffed pies, Malted NY thin crust and traditional. I have had the stuffed, thin and traditional crusts and they are all good. The selection of specialty pies are unusual and worth a look. I have had the Italian Pesto and Margherita the most, and yum. I can get a pit pricey, but go on Mon/Tues and they have specials. They have a very English beer selection, with a decent selection of mirco-brews as well. All in all, it iw worth the trip

My roommate and I have been wanting to try out this place for awhile ever since we moved back to Indy. Definitely doesn't hurt that it's an English-style pub either. A couple of friends and I headed straight here after the "The Yelp Elite Squad's Hot Ball" at the Indianapolis Museum of Art's 100 Acres. After being filled up on beer, wine, and little bites of food, we weren't exactly starving. But we decided to split a 12" Buffalo Chicken Pizza and an order of the Fish & Chips. We also noticed that they had Strongbow on tap. Definitely had to have a mug of it for $8.25. I think a "mug" is approximately 25 ounces. Buffalo Chicken Pizza(**): Sadly I thought this was a bad choice and fairly overpriced at $19.35. I am not a fan of bleu cheese crumbles and neither were any of my friends. We all found it very overpowering. We had forgotten to tell our waiter that we just wanted it on the side. I would've much rather preferred bleu cheese dressing to dip the piping hot pizza in. Nevertheless, the crust was awesomely good and so was the diced chicken. I'd try another pizza again someday...but on a Mon or Tues. Fish & Chips(*****): Definitely one of the best in Indianapolis. The cod was wonderfully breaded and flaky. The fries were good. And even more impressive...the coleslaw was excellent. (I'm usually very disappointed at the coleslaw from most places because it is often overlooked and bland.)

I've been here many many times and I'm never dissatisfied with their food. Although I do tend to order the same thing each time! They truly are consistent with their food. And as consistent with their service as any restaurant can be. The FISH AND CHIPS here is better than anywhere else. That includes all the Irish pubs too. The batter they use is light, not too greasy and seasoned perfectly! Their Fish and Chips is anything but bland. I also love the Irish Nachos, a great alternative to gluten laden regular nachos. And the starter The Big Shroom is an incredible tasty twist to the typical Spinach and Artichoke Dip. One word to describe the Big Shroom is...yummy! My friend loves the Hamburgers here as well. Never a problem when he orders it medium rare and it's always nice and juicy not greasy. Big difference! The Pizza menu can satisfy any palette for any occasion. Something for everyone indeed. The entire menu is diverse enough to please a large group but not so big it's overwhelming. I also highly recommend their Bloody Mary's. A little spice but not a kick of hotness so it settles quite nicely as a pre-meal drink. I also love, love, love that they add a shrimp to the olive & garnish sword. Don't worry, the shrimp is cooked and not fried. Much like the shrimp in Shrimp Cocktail. With all the sports tv, this is THE place for Butler fans and World Soccer.

Union Jack is good eats. My husband is a huge fan of the burgers and pizza, and I am a huge fan of their planet burger (it's a veggie burger). Particularly when it's part of their spicy patty melt. Ooooooh yeah. Oh, the queso is pretty good, too. The place is reminiscent of an English pub, replete with English football playing on the TVs...think dark wood, lots of beer. The gratuitous pictures of old, white, dead people on the walls is a little over the top, but hey! I can deal. I'm a diet coke with lemon girl for the most part, but I hang with those who live a little more dangerously, they say the drinks and beer are worthy of a second...and third...and fourth trip.

Good food, bad service. We were one of the first customers for lunch and our waitress Kimmi was less than friendly when taking our order. It seemed like we were really asking too much when we had a question about the menu. When asked if they could prepare one of the specialty pizzas without one of the toppings, her response was, "no substitutions." I wasn't asking for a substitution, I just didn't want one topping. We ended up ordering mozzarella sticks and two pizzas. After waiting for 30 minutes she stopped by to let us know our pizzas would be right out. When we asked about our appetizer she said, "oh, I forgot to put that in." We were her only table! The pizza was pretty good. The ingredients seemed fresh; the cheese was good. The crust was a bit like a cracker. The restaurant seemed clean, but they could use some new trivets. When I was eating my last slice of pizza Kimmi wanted to clear the table and I wished she waited because she lifted that dirty trivet over my plate and then the spatula on the tray fell on my arm. She did not offer any apology.

Union Jack is a fantastic place for a variety of people and variety of reasons to go eat or drink. I've taken my grandparents and I've taken dates. I've been sober and went to drink and I've been drunk and went to get sober. Hell, I've been drunk and went to get drunker. It's a good place to go watch American Football and what the rest of the world calls Real Football (specifically English Premier League). They have an amazing deep dish pizza that will leave you full and content. I've tried the other types of pizza there, but they're Chicago style is my favorite by far. Even good as a leftover! Make sure to start off with the delicious pub sticks! The fish and chips really do bring you back to London town (if you've ever been) and you'll likely need a box to go for this as well. I also recommend the Cuban and Cajun Turkey Burger. Next, comes the beer list! I believe they keep the total menu almost at 100 beers, with about 15 on tap. They really will have about anything you'll want and its a great place to try a new beer if you're feeling frisky. There is an Around the World Beer Club, where you get a "passport" and they will keep track of what all beers you've tried. I'm not sure if it's still the case, but they used to give you a case of your favorite one after you completed the whole list! The staff has always been top notch and will provide recommendations for anything. There are big tables too for groups, but I would suggest calling in a reservation. It really is a place you can bring you parents, significant other, or significant other to meet the parents. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Service has been much better the past few times I've visited. For such a fun location with a lovely variety of yummy food offerings, UJ's is a great go-to in Broad Ripple. Hopefully it stays consistent! The spinach dip app is gigantic. I love that they actually give you enough chips, as opposed to other places where you are left with half of your dip and teeny crumbs.

We headed here for the brunch, served weekends from 10am-2pm. The place is a pub, so don't go expecting a charming, cozy, fou-fou, brunch atmosphere. The plus-side to this is that there was no wait and no pressure to leave because it's not like a line of people are waiting for your table. The breakfast side of the brunch menu is pretty limited and nothing too fancy - for example: eggs your way, served with hash browns and choice of toast/english muffin/buscuit ($5), make-your-own omelette ($8), breakfast burrito, oatmeal, etc. I did notice that there were no pancakes or french toast options, which seem like pretty standard breakfast/brunch options to be missing! They did hand us the full lunch/dinner menus as well, so I imagine all of that food would be an option if you wanted to go that route. Bloody Mary's were $4.50 and nicely garnished with a shrimp, celery stick, pickle, and olive. There's brunch right there! The service was fine, and they were accommodating to the little one we had in tow (another bonus about this place not being overly crowded, it's pretty kid-friendly). BOTTOM LINE: The casual pub atmosphere, fine service, and being not too busy make this a fine spot for a leisurely low-key brunch and place to bring the kids. However, the breakfast-y part of the brunch menu is rather limited, so if you're looking for lots of creative and different breakfast options, you may want to check out another spot.

I love UJ but I have to say their "Chicago Style Deep Dish" is not Chicago Style. Chicago Style has the sauce on top, they do not. Still great, just saying.

My favorite place in Broad Ripple to go for dinner and drinks with friends. Also a great place to go to watch all EPL matches. The ambiance and decor make me feel like I'm back in a pub in London. The wait staff are very friendly and really seem to enjoy what they are doing. They don't seem to have a lot of turnover with their staff either - always the same faces. The owners also spend a lot of time there and integrate themselves throughout the pub. My recommendations for food are their deep dish pizza, italian beef, and the cajun turkey burger (ask for grilled green peppers on top!) The included kettle chips are great, too - no need to upgrade to the fries! Carry out also available.

Wow, great place. This was the highlight of my food experience on my recent trip to Indy. I have a few minor complaints that won't dock from the 5 stars I gave this place. The outside decor was lacking. But who cares, right? The place was too crowded, but that's because we showed up late and the WC Qualifying soccer game was on. I know, very minor complaints. But, they nailed the important parts. Every TV was set to the soccer game between USA and Costa Rica. The place was jammed yet we still got incredible and timely service from our waiter. Also, the food was incredible. Well, let me restate that, the thin crust pepperoni pizza was incredible. The cheese fries with bacon and jalapenos (added on request) were decent, but good bar food. But the pizza was some of the best I've ever experienced. They put about as much cheese as possible on and have high quality pepperoni. They manage to do this without having any grease on it. How they do that I'm not sure. But it was great stuff, they should go national with their pizza.

Who needs stars to align when stars aren't what helps concoct the greatest bloody mary in Indy? More than just the stars align at the UJP (okay no one calls it that...but after their bloody mary... random yawps of acronyms happen). When you're drifting through a hazy Sunday...unsure of where to go and the love of your life says, "Reuben," (which I highly recommend having a love of your life that would request such a thing), and your palate intends to be dazzled by the mothership of bloody marys with shrimp, pickles and olives, then this is your place. The Reuben can be turkey, and was for us... with their own housemade 1000 island. A perfect pairing of the bloody mary is the Boddington draft... and that can and should and does and will happen here. Maybe it's the World Cup that ratcheted up their game... because everything's better here now. A crowd of 10,000 strong was inside my jowls blowing vuvuzelas of dazzle and strength.

Need a cool place to hang out, grab some good pub-grub and pint? Look no further than Union Jack in Broad Ripple. This place is without a doubt one of the most unassuming and relaxed atmosphere's in the city. The service isn't overbearing (or really good) but they are accommodating, and never seem perturbed or flustered. The food is good, and so far I have not found a better Spinach Dip in town (management, if you're reading this...more bread, less chips!) Many weekend afternoons I can be found catching some stellar people watching in the window seating in the bar area, throwing back a snakebite and munching on one of the best pizzas in town. If you a beer snob this place has some stuff you won't find in a lot of other places, and to recent memory the best beer list outside of that place downtown that used to be BW-3. You can come in and have a seat or grab some pretty quick carry out, either way, you'll enjoy the food and the atmosphere, and maybe I'll catch you in the window.

The bar and seating area that opens to Broad Ripple Avenue was the first thing I noticed about Union Jack. The amazing-looking pizza being enjoyed by most of the other patrons was the next. And the pizza tastes as good as it looks. They do a nice deep dish, though the regular crust will certainly not be confused with thin, either, and boy is it delicious. They run a pizza special early in the week...save between $3 and $5 on Mon and Tues. Nice selection of beers on tap, and of course, prime location. An expanded selection of appetizers would get them a 5th star from me.

Once upon a time like four or five years ago I had an amazing vegetarian wrap here but more recently I special ordered my face off and made a vegetarian reuben sandwich which is kind of my signature favorite. I wish I had known to request my meat substitute burger blackened as it was quite floppy making for a slightly undesirable sandwich, overly soggy. I however can't argue that it was tasty, not nearly as tasty as reubens I've had elsewhere or prepared at home but we can't all be perfect, now can we? I really think it boiled down to the lack of vinegar bite in the sauerkraut. The side salad upgrade, totally worth it though.

I always have a great time at Union Jack's. I've never tried the food, but I can say that they have a great selection of beers and cider on tap as well as in bottles, and the service is always good. Add to that the ability to belly up to a bar and look out over all of the craziness that can be Broad Ripple Avenue on a weekend night and you've got yourself a dandy of a night doing some drinking and people watching.

I was taken to Union Jack's by a local friend of mine who swears that they have some of the best pizza in Indianapolis. Having no basis to make an educated comparison, what I can say is this: the deep dish Chicago pizza isn't Giordano's, but it's authentic and delicious. Pies are a bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. When ordering, make sure you ask the server how many people a certain size pizza will feed. For example, a 10" pie, while seeming relatively small, filled two grown men to the brim. The depth of the pizza and the heartiness of the filling add a lot to the meal. You can order off of the menu of established pizzas OR you can build your own. Con: you are not able to make any changes or substitutions to their "signature" pizzas, which I found pretty whack. If I want to add olives, then dammit this is America and I should be allowed to. I digress. You can build pizzas with up to 4 different "crowns" (toppings) and choosing which ones you want is a battle in itself. I think the sausage is magnificent, as it is large-chunk, fresh-made rather than sliced off of a log. Overall, Union Jack's is a cool, relaxed atmosphere with good pizza. Definitely worth a try in Broad Ripple.

In the BRip area, bar-wise, I bounce btwn Union Jacks, Moe n Johnny's and Binkleys. I mean if the guys are gonna make me sit there thru at least 4-5 beers, there had better be a decent food menu to keep me occupied (does Fat Dan's kinda count? drippy wet SUBMERGED italian beef with both hot and sweet peppers.....go during downtimes, they'll always get it right). Last few times I've been to BR Brew Pub have been disappointing so I'm giving them a break for a while. I'm telling you-- Wednesday Ribs special!! yeah really their ribs are surprisingly good!! I always get fellas down along the bar appreciating my appreciation for those things. even their creamy coleslaw is decent. Else-- Tenderloin sandwich. Reuben. Fish n chips. Pretty much those 4 things on a rotating schedule. Consistently good & meets expectations. That's big in my book. ALWAYS switch out my fries for onion rings. Admittedly have not tried their pizza yet! I like the slightly more mature crowd at Union Jacks and the front window area in the summer. Friendly bartenders, and I've always been lucky to have good service even on crazy Vogue concert nights. but again I also nearly always sit up at the bar or in the front area. I know BRip is notoriously difficult for parking esp during evening hours but if you try to get there by 5.30 you can usually nab a spot in their backlot.

Fun, local pub restaurant. The pizza definitely doesn't compare with Chicago pizzas but it's still good. The spicy veggie wrap is probably my favorite item and I love that you get the option of cottage cheese instead of chips or fries. Good beer selection and specials. Smoke free too, which is a big plus!

This is a toughy as I live in the Deep Dish capital of the WORLD, yet I am in Indianapolis. Sorry Indy folks, but you do not have any home grown joints which survive. If there were no franchises, you would all go hungry. For Indianapolis Union Jack's is a 4 STAR. Applying Chicago standards, a 3. I am being generous. The son (who lives here- poor boy) loves deep dish. Armand's and Lou Malnati's are a couple of his favs. Last time he was here, he took back 2 Lou's to get him through the fall. Broad Ripple is "nice". A wannabee Old Town of the 2000's with 10% of the joints. This is Indy! We went here b4 our NYE venture. That is another story! The kid forgot where Broad Ripple started and he over shot it. Did find the place and walked into a cordial woodsy joint. Definitely a bar and Pizza place. They have a good collection of pies. The deep dish and thin crust. We IMMEDIATLEY ordered as it is a 45 minute cooking process. We then had iced cold beverages and some fried rooms. Very good! We talked and waited. This was about 4:00PM and the place was 1/3 full. Not bad for NYE and a Sat afternoon. The pie arrived and it looked good! The son dug in and I was more deliberate. HHhhhhMMMmmmm. Good crust, good bread and I must say good toppings with lots of cheese. The gravy they used was a bit too sweet for me. Could have used some basil and a tad more oregano. The kid just kept eating.... We ordered a medium and we took 2 pieces home. Breakfast was great Sunday. I definitely would be back in contrast to what Indy has to offer that I know of. Sbarro's, Domino's, and Pizza Hut are not "choices" to me. I am not a pizza snob but.........when you have had the best, what can you expect of the rest. RIP Indy. Johnny Chitown

Union Jack's has the best deep dish pizza in Indianapolis. Soccer on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The pub food is good, but stick to the Chicago Pizza if you want to be wow'd. That said, the fish & chips, spicy italian beef and the ribs are excellent.

You can't go wrong with Union Jacks. It's by far the best pizza in Indy. Great selection of brews. Too bad they have soccer on all the time. Just kidding, I'm not Americentric, I hate all sports. Go anyway!

I don't eat meat and I don't really like greasy food. So, when a restaurant has "pub" in it's name, I don't expect it to be impressed. BUT I went here today and had a delicious spicy portabella mushroom sandwich. Service was friendly too. Yay!

Someone told me this place had great burgers, but I wasn't super impressed. I had the Ultimate Burger which is meat on meat with meat and cheese - on Texas Toast. You can't get much more heart attack than that. I had some wings to start. They really weren't all that. Decent, but not mind blowing. Aaron had the cheesy bacon fries for his appetizer and said they were acceptable. He ordered the Stromboli. Also okay. They did accomodate our large group with no drama about splitting the bill, so that was nice. Next time we'll try some of the items recommended by others...

This is a great place. Pub food extraordinaire. I had the pulled pork which was excellent and my wife has a hamburger and it was really good. The tenderloin that my friend had was awesome he said. Try the velvet chicken soup. It is worth going there for that.

I really don't understand why anyone would think this food is good! Good grief I know it's not Hells kitchen or Master chef just a bunch of line cooks and it shows. First the place in need a some bleach! the musty stale smell had nothing to do with the places character and charm, but rather that of mold and mildew. Nasty female bathroom conditions phew! You would think for as much as they charge for a bottle of beer 7:50 for a imported mostly unheard of bottle Sam Smith beer... ridiculous and a automatic 20% gratuity for a party of 4. I was one girl for 3 hours 2 beers and a 35 dollar and some change tab and it wasn't worth it for girls night out in lieu of the Olympics. I stuck with something I figured a English Pub couldn't mess up, the famed Fish and Chips...somehow they managed to mess it up! far to salty and greasy. Pub food and be good but this isn't it! I was not impressed, that was my first and last time at The Union Jacks on Broad Ripple Ave. I've not only had better I can do better at home. This is a wannabe hot spot for people who don't know any better.

I really wanted to hate Union Jack's. I'm not a fan of the British (or Irish) pub-in-a-box variety of bar/restaurant that is so ubiquitous now. Snoooorefest. However, UJ's won me over with its above-average pub food and quick, friendly service. The veggie offerings are surprisingly good for a sports bar. I find myself craving the spicy veggie wrap and cracked pepper kettle chips, and their garden burger ain't bad either. My sweetheart swears by the Cajun turkey sandwich. They have a nice variety of salad dressings; I recommend holding onto the cup of jalapeno-honey if you've got fries or chips coming. And wash it all down with the Wee Mac Scottish Ale they've got on tap right now. Yum!

While I don't live in Indy anymore, anytime I'm home to visit family or friends I try to make a visit or place an order for pizza to Union Jack's. This is the BEST Pizza I've had in Indianapolis, hands down. We normally get a regular 16" with the works on it and can't get enough. It's a nice atmosphere when you dine-in too, and their other food is good, but you can't pass on the pizza when you go there.

I love the Union Jack! The food is great, the service is friendly, the price is right, and it's locally-owned. It's a gem in Broad Ripple because it's one of the few places you can go on a Friday or Saturday night which is lively and yet you can still have a conversation.

As far as British Pubs go, Union Jacks is probably one of my favorites. Great pizza, great brunch, and great beers! They show a lot of great soccer matches and have a good crowd as well. If you're looking for a more relaxed evening in Broad Ripple that involves food or drink or both i would recommend going here!

Really good pub style pizza. The crust is awesome and they load on the cheese and toppings. It's always a toss up for Union Jack's Pizza or pizza from Connor's Pub whenever I'm in Broad Ripple.

Food is meh. If you want good pizza, there are plenty of other places. Over priced. Don't order a double well drink-they'll charge you $9. If you want non smoking higher scale food go to Binkley's or Midtown. If you want beer, go to Chumley's. This place kind of sucks.

Wish I would have read the reviews about the pizza before I came here! Oh well... Loved the decorations. Lots of local and British crap on the walls that make for entertaining perusing if the game on the plasma screen TV's doesn't fit your fancy. Nice, authentic, wooden bench tables. Had a bowl of chili, which while housemade and quite tasty, wasn't anywhere near the best I've had. Sibling's behemouth burger was reported good, but not great, as was the chili dog other sibling wolfed down. Verdict: Much better places to go in Broad Ripple.

X'mas eve, the sign on Union Jack's door says the kitchen will close at 8pm, got there at 7:45pm. Waiter told me I have 5 mins to order, I told him I have 15mins. Then he came back immediately to tell me the owner wants us to order NOW. Needless to say we left. NEVER going back again! If you going to close the kitchen at 7:45, then post it as such!

I was heartbroken when Union Jacks stopped serving "real" British food and went to serving basic pub fare, but I guess they had to do what they had to do to survive the blandness of the midwestern palette. Still, the food they serve they do well. If you come here, I recommend skipping the sandwiches and getting a stuffed or deep dish pizza - it's the best Sicilian Deep Dish in Indiana. If you can get through a 12in deep dish on your own, you will be the proud winner of both my admiration and a future triple bypass. Union Jacks is split into two rooms - one full of booths for families, the other with a full bar and chairs for everyone else. The bar is well stocked, and they usually have local games running on the TVs. It's a great place for an afternoon beer and pizza, or a place to pre-party before hitting a few other bars in Broadripple.

unon jack is a great place to grab a drink or eat (pizza is tremendous, tenderloin sandwich & fish & chips are good). strange/cramped layout with eating tables/booths on each side with a smaller bar in the middle. enter through the front or rear. gets busy most evenings. the place is great in the summer now that they've installed the garage door windows that open wide. good beer & drinks. good amount of tvs in the place, though at many times they are tuned to soccer.

Basic pub fare, taken up a notch. Had chili, but also tasted a companion's fish and chips. Both solid, and tasted housemade and fresh. I guess they have good pizza, but wasn't in a pizza mood. Decor is homey in an anglophile way. We had four adults and three kids, and everyone had a good time. Staff was friendly and attentive. Decent beer selection, too.

we had the deep dish pizza. i'm pretty picky about my deep dish pizza - comparing everything to giordano's. giordano's, it is not. it is decent though. it's a nice, family environment- lots of families and kids when i was there at 6 on a saturday. i'd come back to try the sandwiches or wings.

The pizza is terrific here. The rest of the food is pretty average pub fare, but it's always tasty, if nothing special. Nice atmosphere, too.

Love their fish and chips and awesome beer selections from all over...I watched the world cup there and it was an awesome experience! Pizza is amazing! Finally found a deep dish pizza outside of chicago that is at least comparable.

I want to like Union Jacks. I feel I've given it a fair shot. I've been there several times and I've tried the pizza and the other pub food. Overall, my experience has been very unremarkable at best. It's pretty standard pub fair in general and nothing to write home about. It is a nice change from a chain restaurant but there are better out there.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

(5)Connor M.
(4)Roy H.
(4)Lesley S.

(4)Garvy S.
(4)Lindsey G.
I love this place! We have been going here for years! Hands down my favorite pizza place! I have eaten at a lot of pizza places and yet I still Union Jack is my favorite! The staff isn't always great, and the pizza takes a little while to make but that's ok it's worth the wait!
(5)Phil B.
(5)Mary T.

(3)Katie U.
(3)Marie L.
Best Reuben I've ever had! If you loved Reuben's you have to try one from Union jacks. The service and atmosphere has always been great. Never had a complaint!
(5)Melissa V.
(4)Vlad G.

(3)Somatic Dye S.
(4)Lindsey S.
Once again, our favorite pizza place proves to still have the VERY best deep dish pizza around. Bravo, UJ's, bravo!
(5)Cherry J.
Been here a few times now and always love their burger with pretzel bun and I'm not even a burger/sandwich person. Good beer choices too. Love their trivia on Tues. What this place needs is an outdoor option.
(4)Marianne B.
I love this place! great food, great service, great pub atmosphere!
(5)Kristen W.
Great beer list and pub food. A solid option for a casual meal and drinks in Broad Ripple.

(4)Elisha G.
(5)Karen C.
It's got a British theme; what else but Fish & Chips! The plate was delightful! Staff pleasant and accommodating to special requests for menu adjustments. If I were a local, I'd be eating here often!!! Atmosphere good - inviting!
(5)Kelsey M.
Really good selection of beers, especially imported. Have a good selection of bar foods too. The Belgian bread sticks are great. Good service and atmosphere. Will be returning a lot
(5)Julie C.
(2)Jennifer S.
(4)Melissa B.
(4)Paige C.
Great beer choices, breaded tenderloin, pizzas, and salads make for an all around great option in Broadripple. It will cater to many different taste buds and the atmosphere is fun and inviting!
(4)Jeff A.
Seriously the best fish and chips I have ever had in my entire life. I would highly recommend this place for both the food and drink. Atmosphere and service was amazing.
(5)Scot C.
(4)David L.
(5)Marina C.
Decent food, friendly service, and great beer selection. Also great for trivia family feud style on Tuesdays!
(4)Ian B.
All in all we had a very good experience. service great food good (I'm sure would say great if i had tried your specialties like your deep dish pizzas..just can't eat that now...diet...but plan too and will inform when i do, because I've heard from others that its out of this world) drinks good+ (liked the updated printout of current beers on tap and drink specials) I will be back
(4)Steve W.
(3)Jeffrey P.
One of favs. Great beer selection and awesome food... First time here for lunch though. GREAT $8.99 lunch deals! Cajun chicken salad and Reuben are awesome.
(5)Chris S.
Been there on my last two trips to Indy. Solid establishment. Good food, and extensive beer list. Bar was comfortable and tvs were in good placement.
(4)Nicole K.
(1)Phi C.
(1)Chewy M.

(4)Abby P.
(5)Karen M.
Great pizza, dark wood Brit pub- footy on the TVs, and tasty pints. It's a bit small & difficult to find parking but worth it for the pizza or fish & chips.

THANKS FOR BEING OPEN DURING ICE AGE 2014 ! Super service from the lovely young lady in the tres cool sweater....who properly flirted with the 11 year old.....and....the 51 year old ! very nice service and pleasantries from the staff who undoubtedly were ready to go home and shovel their own driveways Everything exceeded expectations....superb 'ZA Streamed the games when the satellite went down...pretty cool indeed Hello ???? Black IPA on tap baby ! Which the 11 year old finally appreciated.
(5)Erik F.
(5)E W.
Good food. Good staff. Good atmosphere. Love the deep dish pizza and the smokey french dressing! Also, decent internet and a good place to have a "proper working lunch." ((AKA, cocktails and work... Lol))
(5)Sal W.
Love this place. Great pizza, sandwiches, fish & chips. Nice beer selection. Staff is always helpful.

Well done!

The staff is so friendly! The sandwiches and pizza are always my go to!! Perfect for days with nice weather! They open up the side doors so you can see onto broad ripple ave!

i used to go to the one in speedway (my fiance at the time worked there) but never really actually ate there much. after a trip to broadripple yesterday, i wouldn't mind going back! the chicken velvet soup, although not what i was expecting (in bloomington at yogi's, it's more of a brothy cream soup), was amazingly flavorful! i've also had the white chicken chili in the past, which i recall liking a lot too. i've never had a cuban sandwich before but theirs sounded really good, & it was! drippy & messy but worth it. the fries were hot & fresh too. my friend had a reuben & salted caramel dessert; i think she said the sandwich was ok (& messy) & she ate the whole dessert so i'm guessing it was good. my fiance really really liked the bristol club i brought home for him! all in all, good bar with some really good food. place me next to the open window on one of these nice summer days...even better!
(4)Tyler H.

(3)Jennifer G.
(5)Glenn W.
Excellent pub setting, good food, good times, great pizza, what more do you need?

(3)Rachel L.
definitely don't see the appeal in this place. i tried the pizza..... way too heavy. I also had a pork tenderloin sandwich is usually a favorite of mine but at this place it was just nasty. i guess this place is just good when your looking for a place to watch the game but other than that the food is not worth the calories.
(2)Sarah C.
(3)Jenna T.

(3)Sarah C.
(5)Alyssa R.
Excellent service, wonderful food, and a spectacular beer selection on tap. The Cuban was fantastic. Can't wait to return to try the pizza!

Damn good deep dish pizza.. a little pricey but worth it.

(5)Benson S.
(4)C C.
Excellent place for soccer. Good Italian beef and pizza. It's old school and not too many college kids.
(4)Kara P.
(3)Kimberly W.
Yummy food and friendly service. Pretty noisy, but family friendly. Fish and chips are delicious.
(4)Diane E.

(4)Divya V.

(4)J H.
Pizzas are awesome, especially the deepdish. Make sure to ask for it well done though!
(4)Brent D.

(4)Marissa B.
(3)Scott H.
Very good food. The pizza might be the best in town. I wish the prices were cheaper.
(4)Molly F.
I love UJ but I have to say their "Chicago Style Deep Dish" is not Chicago Style. Chicago Style has the sauce on top, they do not. Still great, just saying.
(3)Jeremy R.
(5)Scott M.

(4)Urban O.
If you only live once, you have to have their deep dish pizza. If you have two lives, then make sure and come back here the next time around too. Yumm.
(5)Byron J.
(4)Chris M.
(4)Jennifer B.
(4)Jimmy W.
(4)Adam H.
AMAZING Italian Pesto pizza! Crust was great, ingredients were all fresh and tasty!
(5)Andrew M.

(4)Katie B.
(4)Chris B.
This place is awesome. The drinks are always mixed to a James Bond drink perfection. The additon of constant soccer games on the tv make this a truly Civil War era epic place to grab a drink.
(4)Johnny B.

Yay!

Pizza is amazing! Service was spectacular! Great atmosphere and vast beer selection, highly recommended!!!

Yum!

Best Mozz Sticks in town. For serious.

Lots of folks tout their pizza but nobody consistently beats UJ for their Deep Dish Pizza & you can get a half & half ( just to be clear that's a Guinness & Harp ) Parking is rarely good, but, that's Broad Ripple...

Fish and chips were amazing. So was the potato soup.

(3)Matthew E.
The pizza is terrific here. The rest of the food is pretty average pub fare, but it's always tasty, if nothing special. Nice atmosphere, too.
(4)Matthew W.
Love their fish and chips and awesome beer selections from all over...I watched the world cup there and it was an awesome experience! Pizza is amazing! Finally found a deep dish pizza outside of chicago that is at least comparable.
(4)J.T. M.
awesome pizza and pub. great place to hang out and drink good beer and go belly up with deep dish pizza. highly recommended.
