Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States. Great food and cool vibe. The brown chicken brown cow pig was one of the best and most unique burgers I've ever tried. Food is great, service is friendly, portions are massive, and its not too pricey. Great and unique place.

This place hovers between 3 1/2 and four stars, but let me tell you the food was amazing, the service was fantastic. And the menu was groovy! Upon arrival the place was buzzing, there was almost no place to sit on a Tuesday night! That's a great sign! The two of us split three entrées, because I eat for two. I had a burger which tasted very homestyle, fresh and delicious. I could've made it better myself! The server was fast and attentive n sweet ! We had a Groupon, which made it taste even better lol

The food here is so good, I'm kind of without words on this one. I don't think I've had a hamburger that tasted more like I'm sitting at home eating it fresh off of my own grill. The Garcia Bistro burger is chin dripping juicy. The Iggy Italian and the New York dog also do not disappoint. A side note, add chili to the New York dog, you'll be so happy you did!! Keep on Trucking!!!

Groupon brought Tie Dye Grill to my attention and I do like me some tie dye flashbacks. At lunch time the place was packed with a few people, including me, waiting on a table. The majority of the customers were locals and regulars here for Tenderloin Tuesday. I haven't seen a Wet Tenderloin served in years unless I make it. Guess what I ordered? The others ordered a grilled tenderloin and a spud with chili plus all the toppings. All was tasty but my son felt the spud was sparse on the chili for the side of the potato. Menu has a nice selection from appetizers, burgers, salads and spuds. I'll be back to try the tie dyed cheesecake. Cute mom & pop joint with Lenyard Skinner concert playing on TV. Under TV are stacks of 70's & 80's CDs and albums. Tables have tie dyed table clothes, pipe cleaner flower centerpieces with a fun atmosphere and many customers who fit the theme well. Nothing fancy just comfortable, relaxed atmosphere with good food.

Holy crap!! Place is OUTSTANDING! Tried the Garcia burger with bacon relish and was amazing!!!!!! HUGE Burger! I will be back for sure!

Another lunch during the work week and where I work, food options are limited. Tie Dye is a quaint burger place with "we don't care if you have a problem" attitude. Not the cleanest of establishments and there is tie Dye everywhere. Actually, if you wear tie dye to Tie Dye, you get your picture on the wall... Lunch rush is crazy so you have to wait to be seated and there is no proper waiting area. Menu is full of options and they have some good specials. I ordered the Pig Pen I think. Huge burger on texas toast covered in gravy, french fries, and cheese. It sounded awesome at the time I was finally ordering. But the gravy was pretty salty and it was all over the place so it was hard to distinguish what the rest of the meal was like. Not he best burger place but it has personality for sure!

We were in Indy for a business trip and stumbled upon the Tie Dye Grill, thanks to Yelp! It was delicious! We got it to go and ate it at our hotel. The staff and owner were all very polite. The onion rings were amazing and I had the ZZ Top Burger, which was delicious! My fiancé had the Reuben and fries and he said both were delicious! We can't wait to come back and try more on the menu!
(4)Katie R.
This was a creative idea, but the food is just average and a bit overpriced. I find it odd that you have to pay $9-11 for a burger that doesn't come with fries. Personally, I got the chicken tenders (buffalo style) with fries, and the chicken tenders weren't crispy in the slightest. Still good, however! And the waitress was pretty rad.

If you like a good variety but not to be overwhelmed and you prefer to support a local restaurant, then this is a must stop. The food is prepared with care and quality ingredients. Tuesday Tenderloins are a must-have and are in the upper-echelon of tenderloins for central Indiana (and that is saying something). Don't let the name fool you. Just because it's called "Tie Dye", it's not a hippie or vegan restaurant. They have some vegetarian options but the name is a play on the family name. For the most part, they have something for nearly everyone. The staff is very friendly and attentive without being overly so. The decor is how you would imagine. Lots of memorabilia from the late 60's and tie dye around. Overall, if you like good food, good service and support local businesses, I fully recommend Tie Dye Grill.

Tuesday's tenderloin special is amazing. I get the grilled buffaloin, and it's the perfect amount of heat. Toss on some pepper jack. I also love breakfast on Saturday morning. The grandma's boy is a fabulous exercise in gluttony.
(5)Andrew P.
Tried this little place out a few days back. I had the breaded tenderloin which was excellent. The tenderloin was think and juicy with the perfect amount of breading. Im going to add a picture with their new hours as well.
(4)Aaron C.
Was told to try the Grandmas Boy. Oh my god, it was out of this world. The atmosphere is pleasant, the food was excellent. Service was great. I will be coming back!
(5)Matt S.
Mediocre. I was recommended the breaded tenderloin, which was greasy. The bacon burgers the kids got were good, but the fries were saturated in oil and not properly cooked. This is our second and last visit here.
(2)Trey L.
This place is a hidden gold mine their burgers are the bomb I could tell that they actually use real ground beef and they also flavor the beef instead of relying on toppings to do the job my only regret about this place is that I didn't find it sooner they are very friendly and I will be back again
(4)Tom W.
It is always a good sign when the parking lot and restaurant are packed at a local diner. Tie Dye Grill has just that and for good reason. The menu is extensive ranging from soups to burgers to salads. The prices are very reasonable. I had a delicious tenderloin that was lightly breaded and perfectly cooked. I'll be back to sample more on the menu.

I really really really really like the fact that this place is a "mom n' pop". With THAT said, the pop is super nice and energetic, while the mom is super depressing and mean looking ALL THE TIME. I understand that has nothing to do with their food, but it puts a damper on your mood when they have great classic rock DVD's playing on the big screen in the background, and you're looking forward to that scrumptious burger and their wonderfully seasoned fries. They really do have great burgers. My father-in-law loves their cheesesteak. My husband likes their cobb salad. They have the whole funky-psychedelic theme going on throughout the entire menu and restaurant, which I feel is fun. This restaurant has gone through so much, with them being dedicated eastsiders for life--their restaurant has been broken into a few times, and their business is too strong to waiver under the jerks who keep hurting them! Whenever I go there, it's always delicious, the workers are pretty friendly, and they are always packed!! I wish they were open longer but I'm sure they need the days off!
(4)Bryan G.
This remains a great atmosphere with fantastic burgers and service. Always get the bacon relish!

So we have been planning to visit this place for over a year now, well thanks to timing and the fact that Groupon had a deal for them we did go on Tuesday July 14th 2015. We live on the far west side so this was a gamble to drive 40 minutes to the east side. I am glad we did. When we arrived it was not busy and we walked in and just sat ourselves. We both wore our Tie Dye style shirts but nobody offered to take our pic for the wall, bummer!! The waitress was friendly and got our drinks fast. We opted for the potato skins as an appetizer and we were lucky as they 86'd them after our order. So let me tell you about these potato skins, they took two giant baked potatoes and loaded them down with cheese, bacon and chives and then you got your choice of sour cream or ranch, we opted for ranch. In reality these were loaded baked potatoes but who cares they were great!! i don't like fried potato skins anyway! so this was a bonus for me. Well Tuesday's are fried or grilled tenderloin days while supplies last. So you know that is what I ordered and the other person got the Pig Pen burger I think, he got it no bun and said it was really good. So about my fried tenderloin. It was a good size and it was pretty decent, my only complaint is I wish they would season it with garlic or season salt or something. They pretty much bread it and fry it as is. I could not eat it all but then I already told you that those potato skins were huge. We got here just in time, I would say around 530-6 and then all hell broke loose and it was standing room only for people waiting on tables for the rest of the time we were there, that was exciting for them but i felt rushed because people were glaring at those of us seated as to imply hurry up so we can sit down and eat. So to that I say they need to expand and add at least twice the amount of tables they have now. The cashier did say that Tuesday dinner is not usually that crazy. Thank God they are so far away as I could eat there most definitely every Tuesday! Sweet tea was meh! A 4 star review for me is comparable to most peoples reviews on here who give out 5 stars. It is very rare that I will give out 5 stars to anyone, so in the yelp world this would be a 5 star review. I don't Groupon a whole lot but this one was worth it so grab your groupon and head on over!!! One final thought to all the critics of the appearance of this place, I know that Indiana is the epitome of high society, NOT! so this is an older diner, you are there to eat great food and buy stock in the place. It was clean as well as we could see.

Went here for lunch during a conference a couple of weeks ago. I had been wanting to try it for awhile but haven't been in that area much. The service was good and it was very busy and crowded which seems to be a good sign of its popularity! I gave it a 3-star rating because I didn't particularly like the food. I got the shrimp sandwich (their version of a Po Boy) and it looked like it was going to be amazing when it came out. Then I tasted it and it wasn't. It tasted like pure salt. It was supposed to have a chipotle mayo dressing in it which was the saltiest of all things. I love salt but it was too much for me. I plan to go back and get a burger b/c my colleagues at the table had burgers and all seemed to like it a lot. I didn't follow the rule of always getting a burger at a burger place.

A must for local and tourist alike. Friendly service and owners stay involved in the community. Always looking for a way to support the good in Eastside Indy. We always try to make Tenderloin Tuesday. Have to split it, big as your head size.

Two words perfectly describe my visit this time and the few other times I have dined here and they are simply....GOOD FOOD!!! It is a clean, fun and unpretencious place to go if you want a good filling meal for a very reasonable price. I heard about this place a few years ago from some church friends and so when I saw a Groupon for it I decided it was worth the drive from downtown to try it with a friend on my Groupon. Best Groupon I think I ever used because I found a good "go to" place when you are looking for a good meal with lots of options to suit a diverse group. My parents were leary of my suggestion today because they tend to think I like "fancy" food which today would be known as a foodie. They are right in their opinion about me, I do like fusion and ambiance which in some ways you get a little of that mixed in with your basic burger or Indiana fare of Breaded Tenderloin here.My mom had just been released from University Hosp and was hungry when I came up with Tie Dye Grill as our lunch spot today. The restaurant is small and quaint so not a lot of walking, plus the staff is always friendly which made for a great place to take my parents today that I knew we all three would like.....and we did!!!
(5)Lisa H.
Great place! Always make you feel welcome. The food is amazing. The Reuben is really good, all the burgers are awesome, onion rings are out of this world, tenderloins on Tuesday are hard to beat!
(5)Austin C.
Lead here by groupon, will return when we are nearby, went at lunchtime, place was full but waitress did a very nice job serving and was very friendly. We ordered 2 breaded tenderloins and one cheeseburger with onion rings. All was very good. If you are anywhere near 10th and shade land ave. you need to stop or you will be missing out.
(5)John C.
From the Reuben to the burgers and ask Shane about his huge weenie, it's all tasty at Tie Dye! But don't go on Mondays. I always leave disappointed on Mondays. That's because I forget that they're closed and I can't get that great grub! So....I come back on another day and then I'm happy again! Check out their Tenderloin Tuesday special and don't leave without getting a piece of Tie Dye cheesecake to go. (Hint: it REALLY is tie dye colored!) Locally owned, operated and loved, this place is so groovy that Rupert himself would love it! @MyTieDye on twitter!

An interest funky place. Pleasant enough other than the American cheese on the Club Panini and the dude at the cash register sporting a loaded pistol on his belt.
(3)Brandon D.
Comfortable Eastside eatery. They have a lot of traditional pub food (it isn't a pub though) with their own twists. It's maybe a bit pricey, but I have never had a bad meal there. And they usually have a Lenten special on Friday's (there's a large catholic population on the Eastside). I recommend giving it a try.
(4)Tim W.
Best steak sandwich around. Hand cut daily. Better than my favorite sandwich at the state fair

Like Lara, I would've never found this place if it hadn't been recommended by a friend. We met some friends for dinner here a few months ago, and have been back several times since them. The food and service are both outstanding. The wait staff is cordial and very "down home"....they treat you with friendliness, and it's not that fake kind of friendliness that one sometimes finds in the dining industry. The owners are the same way...they seem truly happy that you've chosen to spend your money in their restaurant. The steak sandwich was done exactly as I asked for it, and the Friday night fish fry is is excellent. They feature jalapeno hush puppies, and I was suspect of them at first, but they're very good. A note about their tenderloins...they're ONLY served on Tuesdays. They get a limited supply of tenderloins on Tuesday, hand bread them, and when they're gone, they're gone till the next Tuesday. And, they're one of the few restaurants I've found that has diet Dr. Pepper at their fountain! Very nice! And, for dessert, don't miss the chocolate/marshmallow brownie. Good stuff! The Tie Dye grill is certainly worth the drive from Hamilton County for us!

I stopped in for lunch to try someplace new and because I didn't have time to pack my lunch for work. It was pretty crowded for lunch. The crowd made the small restaurant pretty loud as the noise just travelled. There is no doubt of the theme of this restaurant. I really wanted to like this place a lot since it is a local mom and pop place. I ordered the bell bottom burger, fries and soda. Each of the items are ala carte. When the food arrived there was a lot of it. The fries were tasty. My burger was dripping grease from it. I can deal with a little grease dropping but there was so much it dripped all over my shirt when I was trying to eat. This is after I tried to soak up some of it with a napkin. It seems pretty expensive for lunch on my tight budget. Little over 13.00 before tip. The table next to me got the tenderloin it looked pretty tasty. I might have to try it sometime later if I go out for a costly lunch or forget to pack my lunch.

Enjoyed a dinner with my brother at the Tye Dye Grill this past week. I'd heard quite a bit about the location from friends and even a conversation with the owners at a Blog Indiana 2010 event. I'd planned on getting one of their burgers, but it was Tenderloin Tuesday and when they said I could get it Buffalo Wing style, it was too much to resist. The combination of Buffalo Wing sauce on a good-sized breaded pork tenderloin, was fantastic! Just in case I was afraid of going away hungry, I also ordered a Chicago style hot dog. It was terrific as well, even if it was a bit challenging to eat with all the toppings. Since I missed the burger this time, you can be sure I'll be back soon to make-up for the loss to my stomach.

I don't know why the Indy Star keeps propping this place up. My wife and I dined here recently and I had the fish, she had a burger. Both over cooked. The smell of grease was in the air and we knew that we would need showers when we got home. The interior looked and felt dirty. The server was ok but the entire experience was not pleasant.

I had a Groupon to use and was pleasantly surprised by the food, the service, and the overall feel of the place. The burgers are great!

I have hemmed and hawed about writing this review for about a month now. If you look at the breakdown of my reviews, I tend to only review places I like, and generally I'm pretty easy to please. Having read all of the excellent reviews for this place, my office decided to get take out for lunch from here and I volunteered to go pick it up. I ordered the Tie Dye Stew and a Plain Jane baked potato from their online menu. According to this menu, the Plain Jane Baker is topped with butter and sour cream only. When I went in to pick up the food, the girl behind the counter had to look up the prices for all of the items we ordered in the menu. She was nice enough, but I really feel that getting the prices on the ticket should probably have been done before I arrived. In any event, I got my food and drove the 15min back to my office. This is where my real disappointment begins. I hand out everyone else's food and when I get to mine, my potato is covered in cheese and bacon. As I am vegetarian, this was a pretty big problem for me. I called them up to tell them what happened, and the woman on the phone sounded put out that I had even called with the problem and asked if I wanted a credit or another potato. As it was my lunch, I told her I would like another potato and would be driving the 15min back to pick it up. I reiterated that I had ordered the Plain Jane Baker from their menu, and she acted like it was the first she had ever heard of it. I also received no apology for the error or for the time and gas that I would be wasting to get another potato. So I drive back to the restaurant. When I arrive, a woman tells me that my potato isn't done yet, that they were out of baked potatoes and mine was in the microwave. MICROWAVE?! How is that baked? At this point, I just needed to get some food and get back to work as I'd wasted all of my lunch hour driving back and forth, so I didn't argue...but really, microwaved? I stood and waited close to 10 minutes for this potato. The entire time I was waiting, no one offered me a glass of water, a seat, a cookie...nothing at all. I'm not looking for a handout, I didn't ask for the potato and credit, I still paid full price for the damned thing. Really, I would have been happy with any sort of sincere apology, but all I got was an "oh, sorry 'bout that" when I came back in. I finally got my potato and drove back to work. The potato was alright, I guess, for a microwaved potato, but the stew (now cold) wasn't good at all. It was tomato based and the vegetables in it tasted frozen. I only ate half. Having worked in restaurants for years as a server, bartender and manager, I'm very forgiving of mistakes. Slow service? The kitchen is probably backed up. Waitress looks overwhelmed? It's cool, I don't mind waiting a bit for my refill. However having worked those jobs, I also understand how mistakes should be handled, and this was not it. I really wanted to like this place, and felt really let down by the entire experience. I will not be returning.

If you are looking for a totally groovy place to hang out and have a totally awesome meal, you totally must pile everyone into the trusty (and/or rusty) VW Bus, Pacer or other mode of transport and groove on over to Tie Dye Grill. If someone hadn't told me about this place, I never woulda known, but if you are looking for a place that has a completely unique atmosphere, this would be a damn good call. The place is so quaint and cool, you wouldn't be surprised to find Austin Powers himself noshing on a mountainous 'Sergeant Pepper's Beef Steak & Cheese' or 'Keep on Truckin Burger' taunting you with: "Do I make you hungry, baby, yeah, do I?" The past and present collide at Tie Dye Grill: the décor is all things retro--tie-dyed tablecloths, classic rock posters, even a macramé owl--yet knowing the customers of the current decade, free wi-fi is offered onsite. Frankly, a lot of this gear decorated my room back in the university days. Saturdays "Awake and Bake" (not to be confused with just 'get baked') which offers quiche, fresh fruit, biscuits and gravy and fried potatoes. Starts at 10:30--who's up on Saturday before then anyway? Before you jam on out of Tie Dye Grill, you absolutely must finish with one of the fab desserts--also made from scratch. The 'Nifty Brownies' alone are worth the trip over--I can't even remember all the ingredients of this sweet cornucopia, but trust me, I'm a dessert freak and it is FAB. Oh, and I'm a connoisseur of iced tea and they brew it fresh here; and as if you were in the south, they offer sweet tea, too. Peace, out.

This was just ok, my wife and I went for lunch she had the Marley chicken sandwich. It was to chicken tenders in hot sauce on a bun. I had a bacon cheese burger. While waiting for our food we noticed that one of the owners was busily working on her facebook account. Once our food arrived things looked great, to bad for the heavy hand with salt. As we finished what we could the other owner walked around talked to a table, but skimmed past us. I'm sorry just not the feeling I would expect from a mom and pop joint.
(3)Tim R.
Outstanding burgers - cooked on an indoor grill. Very pleasant atmosphere, crowded at lunch time for a good reason. Very good salads, big portions. Be aware, owner open carries.
(4)Felicia G.
The salad sucked. It was just big chunks of lettuce and very small amount of dressing and toppings. The panini isn't so great either. But the people were nice. The place isn't too kid friendly on seating for my 3 yr old. They sat us at a tall pub style table with tall stool chairs. Of course my son is falling off every 5 mins and the table came up to his nose. It was hard for him to reach the food. I didnt like that they couldnt add the lettuce and tomato to my panini , it came on a side dish and with the table being so high up it was just complicated. but like i said the staff were nice. :)

Today I went to the Tie Dye Grill for lunch--it was Tenderloin Tuesday, which ment they were packed. I was going to get a tenderloin, until I saw on the daily specials a pretzel roll hamburger (they had me at pretzel roll--didn't matter what came on it), but I had read they had really good burgers--so double bonus! I'm a big drinker while I eat, so as far as that goes, I give them a 1, because I had to ask for a refill. My burger was really good, the pretzel roll was great (thought a small amt of salt would had been good), and the onion rigns were ok. It was over priced ($7.95 for my burger---no sides, $4.50 for onion rings, and $1.50 for a diet pepsi) for what it was. Our table we sat at had the plans for their new bigger restaurant, so I will go back, it probably won't be until they move to a bigger place. If you are near by looking for good food, this is your place, just be prepared to wait if it happens to be a Tuesday.
(3)Sarah Nicole B.
So the burgers are $10 each. Here's why.... everything is handmade, hand prepped. They make everything except the Honey Mustard. Breakfast -- The Grandma's Boy was delicious. The biscuits & gravy were decent when served hot, but weren't that great served cold. I felt like they were waiting on my husband's eggs & just left the b&g sitting there. The wait was too long. All in all, the burgers & fries are the best part of this place.

I have been wrestling for the last couple of days with whether or not to update my rating and review for Tie Dye Grill following my most recent visit for Tenderloin Tuesday this past week. For the most part, service remained top notch and I will always have an appreciation for the indie "mom and pop" vibe that permeates every culinary cell of Tie Dye's existence. Tie Dye Grill is still located at 13th & Shadeland on Indy's Eastside and it still lives into that tie dye groovy vibe that makes it a happy place to be. I'm not going to repeat much of what is in my original review as much of it remains true. While I'd heard at one point that Tie Dye was relocating, it remains in this relatively hole-in-the-wall strip center in digs that are a wee bit run down and way too small for their most demanding times including their wildly popular Tenderloin Tuesdays. Having never experienced their tenderloin sandwich, I was rather excited to find myself with some time after work on a Tuesday that allowed me to show up in time to enjoy dinner at Tie Dye. When I entered Tie Dye, it almost immediately felt like the vibe was off. At first, I credited it to the fact that it was a larger crowd and the staff was definitely busier. As I've previously noted, Tie Dye definitely isn't the most wheelchair friendly restaurant and it's particularly challenging when the place is crowded. I arrived in the restaurant and looked around didn't really see anything too obvious - the staff were busy and I began scouting a possible 2-top near the door even though I'm not particularly fond of 2-top tables. By this time, staff had noticed my arrival and announced that they were getting ready to use that 2-top to create a six-top for a party. I will admit that I was both a little irritated and a little relieved. I was escorted to a 4-top - this surprised me a bit as it was pretty obvious that table options were limited and I had no doubt additional diners would be arriving soon. However, it worked for me and didn't create too much of a sense of being trapped once I needed to leave. I ordered the tenderloin sandwich at $7.99 - somewhat surprisingly, it doesn't come with a side of any type. I ordered a 1/2 order of their groovy fries at $1.50 and my usual unsweetened iced tea. The entire bill came in at right around $14 and, quite honestly, is an average value at best. My friend Rick Garrett, aka The Tenderloin Connoisseur, had rated the Tie Dye Tenderloin at 4.5 stars a couple years earlier and I'm usually fairly close to his ratings. What can I say? This sandwich sucked. I mean, seriously. It was a huge disappointment. Oh sure, it was a nice chunk o' meat but it arrived literally dripping grease and looking like it had been rushed into delivery. I'm guessing at least 1/4 of the sandwich tasted undercooked to the point of being inedible and, yes, I actually left part of the sandwich on the plate. Part of the sandwich wasn't bad, but at its best it was mediocre and at its worst pretty close to godawful. I would generously rate the sandwich at 2 stars. The french fries, while a fairly modest serving, were decent and easily rated 3-stars. I did get my always desired refill, though I'll admit I was starting to wonder. The service remains friendly and helpful and it gives off that peaceful vibe. So, if you're keeping track it becomes pretty clear that there's no way this was a 4-star experience. My debate becomes "Was this a fluke?" or did I rate Tie Dye too generously the first time? After contemplating it for a couple days, I've decided that 3 stars is a more accurate description of my experience. I love the vibe, appreciate the service, and have had mixed results with the food ranging from hugely disappointing to mighty tasty. With food ranging from two stars to four stars, three stars feels just right. There was a diner in a wheelchair waiting for a table when I was leaving and it's entirely likely she ended up at my table despite the fact that I had to do some winding around to actually leave the place. Fortunately, customers here tend to be friendly and I've seldom gotten attitude if someone needed to move. My hope is that this most recent experience was a fluke, though I'll confess even as a fluke I'll never order the tenderloin again. If that's how it is served, I just don't like it. If I just got a sub-par sandwich, I'm just not willing to risk it again. I'll return to Tie Dye, but I'll probably go during a less populated off time and I'll definitely order something else. Will they get their 4th star back? We'll see.
