My husband and I love the Donut Shop and spend most of our Saturday mornings there. The donuts are amazing, but we love it for a good, quick, inexpensive, diner style breakfast. Only takes cash so be aware before you go!

Just visiting family and stopped here. I must say driving up I could not imagine how good it was by how it looked from the outside. We started by ordering some doughnuts...yes they were awesome!! Then we decided on some breakfast sandwiches. What a great deal! And they were so good!! The biscuits were so fresh and fluffy!!! We also had a bagel sandwich which was also very good. I had the croissant sandwich. The bacon was perfectly crispy, which is hard to find. The service could have been better BUT considering how great the food was and how reasonably priced...we will be back!! We had 2 egg, bacon, and biscuit sandwiches, 1 croissant egg and bacon sandwich, 1 bagel sausage and egg sandwich and a cup of coffee. Our total was $10.79!!!! Try it, food is great!!

What a gem. This place is run by a handful of sweet little Filipino ladies who have mastered the making of donuts and breakfast foods in general. NOTE: This is a CASH only establishment, but totally worth it. Parking is not the easiest, but I think they may have had spots in the back behind the building. Seating inside the place is also very tight, so be sure to suck it in. Business is busy, particularly at peak hours in the mornings, but service is friendly and accommodating. The honey-dip donuts are SO fluffy and not too sweet - delicious!! The menu is straight forward and serving sizes are pretty hefty. We had four people, each with endless coffees with donuts along with items from their breakfast menu for a miniscule $27 and change - AND had leftovers too! What a deal.

Second best donuts in Indy! ((After Longs, of course.)) I LOVE their flavor selection and their donuts are always fresh, light and fluffy! My favorite is the vanilla angel. Their other breakfast food is basic diner food done right. I usually get eggs and home fries and toast, and Manfriend gets the hash. Food is good. Price is right. Great little breakfast spot! **cash only**

Excellent donuts and greasy spoon breakfast joint. I woke up one morning and saw Brittany S.'s review of this place and had a powerful craving for donuts so I headed right over. I realized I've driven past this place a million times before and never noticed it! First , the donuts are great. There's a whole wall of them and I wish I could just sit there and eat every single one. If you opt to sit down and have breakfast, it's insanely cheap ($4-6/meal). Standard fair, we really liked the #2 - egg + bacon/ham/sausage (the ham was excellent & plentiful) + potatoes + perfectly buttered (see: soaked) toast. All for under $5! Couldn't even finish it (ok, I had a chocolate donut as an appetizer so....) The coffee wasn't great, but I think that was the only miss in the meal. They are CASH ONLY but have an atm inside. Ambience is totally greasy spoon - hasn't been updated in forever, looks straight out of the 50s. You can tell there's a very regular crowd who comes here every morning. The waitstaff aren't overly friendly, but they're not rude, either.

First things first - they accept cash only. Their donuts are delicious. Light and fluffy, not too sweet, just the right amount. I think their coconut crunch and peanut crust are a must try. When it come to the price they are the sort of awesome local store that gives you tasty stud without breaking your bank. Most donuts are 79c. Breakfast should you have it is pretty decent. But this star rating is mainly for their value (and taste) for money donuts. Please visit them, we need more such local stores to be successful.

This is a small diner that specializes in donuts. I had a glazed yeast and a coconut butternut. I did like the butternut but the yeast donut was not sweet enough. The texture was good, just not enough glaze. I also ate biscuit and gravy with eggs over medium. If you're hungry get the full order because the biscuits are tiny. They tasted good and the eggs were cooked correctly. It wasn't the best I've had, but not bad. The server was nice. But I hate the fact that they only take cash. There is an ATM in the dining room but it cost $2.75 extra. There is no good excuse for any place if business not taking cards.

I must preface my review by saying I came here only because I went to The Dancing Donut on opening day and they were running low/the line was long, but my donut desire was in full force and it needed to be satisfied. Hence, my visit here. How can I put this nicely...it's a "greasy spoon", old-fashioned diner straight out of a bad 80's movie. The diner where the cops congregate for their stereotypical donut/coffee fix. Got the visual? That's The Donut Shop (also, Dancing Donut trumps them in the creative name contest). The store is small, but there is some bar & booth seating available. Service was a tad slow, and they forgot some of the donut flavors we rattled off in our order and we had to pursue them for the coffee, but we weren't overcharged for products we weren't given. That all being said, the donut (honeydip is their "classic glazed") was delish and flaky. But, I feel like I could've gotten the same tasting experience from a Krispy Kreme from the grocery store.

Cash only! Driven past this place dozens of times without thinking. Finally went in and it's about what you would expect from driving by in terms of interior but the donuts were really good! Big selection and really tasty. The diner style breakfast has a large menu and tons of combos. Food was typical diner quality I would say-- no complaints. This will be our new cheap breakfast/brunch spot!

Service is slow. I came around lunch time and they were focused on getting hot food orders over donut orders. It doesn't help that they don't have a separate donut line to get people out faster. The parking lot here is tiny! I recommend coming at an off time or bringing a friend to run in and grab the donuts while you keep the car running. Don't forget that it's cash only here. There are a lot of donut flavors to choose from. When I arrived, they probably had half of the flavors left. 65¢ for a regular donut, $1.00 for cinnamon twists, and $1.10 for a huge cinnamon roll. Honeydip - pretty much a glazed donut but with less glaze German Chocolate - the one I got tasted really salty for certain bites. A lot of coconut flakes on it. The donuts here were good but not amazing. I would try other donut places in town before coming back here.

Great donuts, great service, great price. Very helpful staff. They have other food too not just donuts.

Vintage sign out front and I think the inside decor is original as well. Awesome donuts here, but they also have traditional breakfast. I devoured a sausage, egg and cheese muffin sandwich that was better than home cooked. Don't go to dunkin, go here.

About a mile from my house, The Donut Shop calls my name on occasion. Not for their donuts (I try to stay away), but their breakfast is quick, cheap and delicious! I took my 8 yo for a 'mommy & me' breakfast date during her Winter break and she chose the location. The menu variety is good, featuring pancakes, biscuits & gravy, eggs and the like. She enjoyed a strawberry smoothie with her breakfast as a treat. I got eggs, bacon and the lightest home fries I'd ever popped in my mouth. They almost had me convinced they were healthy, so I had to stop myself. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a breakfast diner, full of regulars and families on holiday break. One of the guys at the bar knew everyone by name and would help 'bus' the tables, apparently because he wanted to. There are two seating areas, making the inside larger than it appears. I wanted to take something home to my eldest and thought she'd like to try to the Bubble Tea. I'd never had one, and took a chance on the passion fruit. I'm not sure what I expected, but slurps of gooey jam pellets at the bottom of a drink was not it! It was disgusting, but the service was friendly and fast. I still don't know about the donuts though.

Quality donuts in the cheap. Sit down or carry out, whatever your pleasure. Customers also were ordering egg sandwiches. I've never had anything but the donuts. Black raspberry and Dutch crunch are highly recommended.

The "cash only" part kills me...but when I do have cash, I can't complain. Good selection and good donuts!

My mama is a doughnut mama. So, when she was in town this past weekend for a visit and said "oooo! the Donut Shop!", I whipped her minivan in their and bought her all the doughnuts her out-of-town heart desired. Having my mind recently blown by the bourbon maple blueberry donuts found at Blue Star Donuts in Portland, OR, I've been craving clever and fluffy morning dough more than ever. Much to my surprise, the moms and pops shop that is "The Donut Shop" houses a few unique options to mix up the ordinary chocolate cake and yeast you'll find elsewhere. The oreo, German Chocolate (topped with coconut) and maple bacon stood out during this particular visit. I had already eaten breakfast (no judgment), but I HAD to get my hands on that maple bacon (yeast donut, topped with generous amounts of maple icing and three to four mini slices of crunchy bacon). Pure perfection. My mother, whose palette is often on a different page from mine agreed. The fluffiness of this dandy was as if they pulled it out of the frier and plopped it directly into my white to go bag. Also of note, this place is cheap! Perfect place to play Mr./Mrs. cool and buy breakfast for all of your friends ;) If donuts aren't your thing, The Donut Shop is quite popular amongst the greasy spoon/hangover crowd. Breakfast on the cheap with no frills (est. price $4- $6). Heads up: parking on weekend mornings can be fairly difficult.

It's a diner. The food is fine, and extremely cheap! It is kind of dirty and the service is not friendly. Despite that, I like going there! Great hole in the wall feel!

I grew up having these donuts after mass or Sunday school and they increased my desire to go to church 10fold as a child. The strawberry glazed and maple glazed are delicious.

Quick and easy! Always super friendly staff. Great, cheap, no bullshit donuts. I will definitely have to try breakfast here sometime.

Although the service is pretty bad and the restaurant is cash only, I still really enjoy The Donut Shop. It's the perfect hangover food- delicious and filling. The prices are amazing- pretty much everything is under $7, and you get A LOT of food. My favorite meal is the egg and cheese croissant sandwich. The croissant is perfectly soft and buttery.

CASH ONLY .Really good breakfast for the price love the french toast number 6 and 8 that's the way to go here there coffee is not the best but for the price I think is ok most of the doughnuts are pretty good the people is awesome and the service excellent a little restaurant and doughnut shop

Cash only! Went on a Sunday around noon. The place was packed; tables were full and people waiting in line before me to get donuts. The cases of donuts were emptied, which I took as a very good sign. I tried the buttercrumb and maple cake donuts. The buttercrumb was awesome, although I made the mistake of eating it in the car and it got everywhere.. couldn't put it down! The maple cake was really good but the donut itself was a little dry. Tried to order a bubble tea but the lady said they take 15 minutes to make, which I was not about to wait for in the chaos of people. As I waited in line I looked around and all the food looked really good (french toast!). Definitely coming back, earlier! and trying some other donuts!

I've been going here for years for breakfast. Great little place for donuts and breakfast food. I ordered a club one day with onion rings, I think they batter the rings with donut batter, they were very good. I highly recommend a bacon maple donut, they are so choice !

Well, the reviews were right!! Good diner food at great price. The only disappointment was that I was too full for a doughnut. Great variety in the people that were there! I will say prissy peeps who dont have experience in the simpler things in life shouldnt go there. There is very logical reason the prices are this great, it is about efficiency and keeping the overhead low. I looked for the things mentioned in the negative reviews, didnt see 'em. Service was at a reasonable speed, staff was friendly, and the place was not dirty. The place is a simple no frills local diner, something Indy could use a lot more of, in my opinion.

Much better than Dunkin and even the overrated Longs. Prices are extremely reasonable. Only drawback is it's cash only

One of the most popular donut shops in Central Indiana. Has a prime location along a busy stretch of Keystone Ave. Friendly, family-run shop that serves more than baked goods. You can also order a full breakfast or lunch. Even though the family that runs the Donut Shop is Filipino, don't expect to find anything particularly unusual (although they do have bubble tea). The parking lot is tiny (and the place is so popular) so you might have trouble parking in front. No worries, as there is more parking in back.

  • Jason T.

Greasy spoon meets yummy donuts! A true Gem! I avoid the food but the donuts are pretty spectacular ! The food is just ok, what you expect. THe apple fritter is killer, all the donuts are tasty to be honest! Cash only! dont get caught holding a dozen w/ no cash! Lots of regulars and locals frequent the spot. Parking is kinda hairy too so beware! THe bubble tea is yum too! But thats more for afternoon time. I am all about the donuts!!

    (4)
  • Brittany L.

I've only had the bubble tea and donuts, based on those 2 things only it's 4 stars. I'll go back and eat the food sometime, but until then we'll mark this review as incomplete. Nice employees, tasty taro-flavored tea, delicious donut with sprinkles.

My FAVORITE donut shop in Indy! From their custard filled, to their chocolate and angel whipped fillings, they are so decadently delicious. I'm dreaming about their country fried steak breakfast and a box of sweet donuts to go right now...

    (5)
  • Matt K.

4 stars for the donuts. There's certainly no reason to go anywhere else for a donut. The food is nothing to write home about, but as I said, the donuts are out of this world. It gets busy in the morning and be hard to find parking. Sometimes the seating inside fills up, but there's usually room at the counter if you can't get a table. This is a regular stop for me on Sunday to Monday mornings and I'm happy it exists.

  • Ann B.

Cash only! Not impressed. The selection for breakfast was limited. The Deli acriss the street is better and they take debit/credit. Also, the service was really slow. I had to ask for the bill at the register.

  • Angela M.

Cash only sucks! Especially in the hood.. I never carry cash but I wanted a freakin donut! So we had to go to an ATM.. :/ the good news is we got a dozen donuts. I took a bite out of 6 of them (I got 2 of 6 different kinds to feed the kids). All 6 of them were very good. Place was packed, there was no parking, line was slow, I felt rushed and the chick behind the counter didn't understand English well or didn't feel like listening but I plan on going again.

  • Robbie R.

I've been going to the Donut Shop since 1999 and I don't think the prices or portion size has changed since! The food is good the price is great and the portions are big. Not to mention a great selection of fresh made doughnuts. Several flavors of Bubble Tea however they seem to be out of the tapioca pearls half the time. Really nice employees and owners too. Bring some cash though because they do not accept credit cards.

    (4)
  • Kinsey C.

CASH ONLY! I stop by here a few times a year to pick up donuts for my co-workers. Not quite as yummy as Long's, but it saves me a drive across town. There is usually no line here. The donue selection leaves much to be desired. I don't even think they have donuts with sprinkles, and who doesn't like a good donut with sprinkles? All in all, I'll keep coming back because their donuts are an affordable way to supply breakfast to my co-workers.

Cherry donuts=amazing Bacon, egg and cheese croissant is loaded with bacon and is super cheap. It's delicious. This is a hidden gem. No cards accepted- cash only.

Love this place! Just like any restaurant EVER, don't go if you're in a hurry. Restaurants were made for you to have conversations and relax. If you need something in front of your face right away go through a drive thur. The staff is very hard working and make a very large variety of all delicious donuts. Lunch and other breakfast items are great as well. The omelets come out perfect every time!

    (5)
  • Ashley C.

My husband and I frequent The Donut Shop often after we get off work at 6am. I was pretty surprised at first how busy it got so early in the morning! We both have gotten omelets, donuts, and bubble teas. The food is nothing extraordinary but it has consistently been good and the service has as well. The only thing that I was not a huge fan of was the texture of the bubble tea. It could have been blended better. I cant complain too much though. Where else am I going to get bubble tea at 6 am?

  • Krista R.

So...Donut Shop...let's just say I wouldn't bring my sweet ol' granny here for Sunday brunch BUT... I would most definitively show up for breakfast/lunch after a late night out. The food is passable if not good and the prices are low. Cash only! 3.5 stars

    (3)
  • Kevin L.

There's something special about cash only breakfast joints. Not a high matinees spot but great for a hangover. Grab a doughnut for the road!

    (4)
  • Chris S.

This sketchy looking "Donut Shop" is better than it appears. The service is hit or miss but the food is always good. I usually get a bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwich to go. I can not resist the donuts so I end up ordering donut holes and a variety of other donuts too. Get there early to experience the full selection because they go fast. Would be a five star establishment if it were a little cleaner and accepted credit/debit cards.

  • Daniel M.

This place is usually packed, and is cash only, but for the price is well worth it. There is a mix of food options, and all kinds of great donuts.

When looking for places to live in Indy, we stopped for a quick bite next door at Subway. We saw the shabby little joint next door and joked about it being our go-to donut place in Indy. Fast forward a few months and we are looking for our donut fix one morning when The Donut Shop pops near the top of our list, and low and behold it was the same shop we first saw. The donuts are very large, and the price is very good for the size. It is cash only as mentioned before, and parking can be an issue in the mornings, but if you can look past the decor it is a very good donut place that has taken all our indy donut money! Try the apple fritter - it's the size of a brain!

Went here and sat down for a hot meal. We wanted a place with a diner-feel. No one ever came to wait on us. As we were waiting, I noticed that there was a mouse in the drop ceiling and I could see the shadow in the light. uh...do you want to go somewhere else? That was the end of that.

    (1)
  • Ian C.

I can't tell you how many hangovers have been cured by this restaurant, but the food they serve is perfectly suited to the task. The onion rings are completely huge and insane, the regular breakfast standbys are totally decent, and the prices are quite cheap. If you really want to challenge yourself, try the Unsinkable. It's a ham, turkey, swiss, and honey mustard sandwich, rolled up and deep fried. Get it with onion rings, too, since you're already going whole hog with the sandwich itself. Make sure you take some time to lean back and digest before you head out, and tip generously.

Okay people, this is one of the dirtiest places I've ever eaten at. Maybe it was because it was late afternoon and they just give up after the brunch/lunch crowd leaves. I don't know, but I was pretty disgusted. There were dirty napkins on the floor as well as food under the tables. Not even crumbs! I'm serious when I tell you there was part of a pancake under our table. The older filipino lady that took our order was really nice. She thought I was filipina and when I told her I was not, she called out to the other lady and said "I was wrong..!" LOL that made me giggle. Food was ok, I got some pancakes and some scrambled eggs. Poor Dillon thought he ordered a sandwich, but he got a SUPER greasy Monte Cristo looking sandwich. Our bill was really cheap, so that sort of makes up for it, but we will not be eating here again. Dillon bought a Cherry cake donut for the road and they actually gave us two. We both agree, the donuts are really, really tasty. So avoid the food, but don't pass up on the donuts. Oh, and keep in mind it's cash only! That's very important piece of info for a plastic loving person like me.

Full disclosure: Donut Shop would not be my first choice for breakfast. With that being said, I do believe there is a place for everything. This CASH ONLY diner can be a great place for a cheap breakfast with friends after a long night out. Aside, this place reminds me of a local version of a waffle house but I am somewhat ashamed to say I have not tried the namesake "donuts". I can vouch that they provide consistently good, basic breakfast. No frills here, so I would recommend bringing your greasy-spoon loving friends. Don't have time to stay for breakfast? I've frequently seen people popping in to grab doughnuts and other carryout items.

  • Aaron W.

The only reason to go here is the wonderful, perfect donuts. Not too sweet, not melt in your mouth sugar rings. They actually have substance and texture. The coconut and butter crunch are my favorites. They also have bubble tea. Had the passion fruit once. Was pretty good, though it tasted nothing like passion fruit. The place is filthy, truly living up to the greasy spoon concept. Staff is fine. Not overly friendly. Not unfriendly. Just kind of there. Haven't tried the food. I get nervous eating eggs in a place that is too unkempt.

  • Jessica S.

All I've had are the donuts, and that's really all I ask of a place called The Donut Shop. I stop by each Saturday morning for a dozen to share with friends. I love that they have bacon donuts, and the oreo ones are also pretty fantastic. Come prepared, it's cash only.

  • Ryan L.

Our neighborhood donut shop is exactly what it ought to be. Cheap, but delicious donuts, affordable greasy spoon-like breakfast options and the quirk of 'cash only' that let's you know who's been there before and who hasn't. If you're expecting great customer service conversation, not having to work hard for a parking spot, boutique coffee, an orderly order/payment line and putting it on your card...I wouldn't show up.

    (5)

Have been going to The Donut for over 20 years. Can't say enough great things. A classic greasy spoon. Cash only!

  • Swt P.

I have been coming here several times mostly for their donuts. Their donuts are good and they have great selection too. Also, the price is very reasonable - 65 cents a donut or cheaper if you buy them more. I will skip their coffee though... Their bubble tea is not that great either. The service is friendly. I am not sure if I would like to dine in at this restaurant though. Maybe just for a take-out? Remember to bring cash. No check or credit card accepted at this location.

Perfect bfst and quick sandwich spot. Stop in. Its simple and you'll get what you pay for. And you may run in to a restaurant of regulars....

  • Todd R.

The ultimate greasy spoon restaurant in Indianapolis. I couldn't finish my bacon and cheese omelet, super huge chunks of home fries and two slices of toast... all for only $4.60 cents. It's cash only but it's so cheap that three people were stuffed silly for under twenty bucks (twenty five if you count the tip) so a large withdrawal from the ATM is not warranted.

  • Shawna V.

Service: They are super fast and get you in and out without making you feel rushed. Love it! Food: Fantastic this is my go to diner in the area. Doughnuts: THEY ARE SO GOOD! they aren't squishy like the mass produced superstore crap. The filling is always really good and they don't skimp. Extras: Bubble tea! You guys they have bubble tea! If you haven't had it, bubble tea is giant gummy tapioca pearls in a frappe like drink. You should have it!

    (4)
  • Sara L.

Oh, hey donut shop. What's up? Oh? 13 flavors of Bubble Tea, you say? Stoooppp, you're just joshin' me, right? No? You really have 13 flavors of Bubble Tea? Donut shop, you're lookin' GOOD to me today, baby! I've been here once and it was the morning after my friends 30th birthday rager. I woke up feeling like I never wanted to eat again and if I was going to eat, it would only be fruit and water because my body needed something kind to happen to it after the booze torture it received the previous night. That being said, the idea of going to the Donut Shop was initially a put off, but you can get me to go anywhere if you tell me they have bubble tea. (Except your van. I cannot be lured into a van with bubble tea. not even if it's a 1982 custom GMC van. I pity the fool who thinks you can lure ladies into a van with bubble tea!) When we showed up I immediately liked the vibe of the place. A little dirty, very busy,super-relaxed, and many people looking to be in a similar physical state as myself along with regulars, teenagers, and couples. 'Alright' I thought to myself. 'This can be handled'. I ended up getting no fruit. I did ask if they had fruit cups and alas, for they do not! But they have every freaking other thing EVER. Donuts, didn't try them but I hear they're great. I had country fried steak with gravy and a side of potatoes, eggs and toast. I think the total was .50 or something. I'm exaggerating. All that food was not fiddy cents, but it was under $7 USD and I could not eat it all. My boyfriend had a breakfast sandwich and some pancakes. Dude, the pancakes were straight up swag cakes. They were delicious. And did I mention they have 13 flavors of bubble tea? I had mango, homeboy had taro. I loved it there and want to go back again. They are cash only, so take note of that. And I saw another reviewer say there was part of a pancake under their table: I totally believe it. There were tables around us still littered with the previous diners refuse. It's a busy happening place and I don't think they're very quick on the clean up. I also don't care, so I'm going back.

The donut shop is amazing. Granted, your waitress probably won't be able to understand a word your saying and may disappear mid meal and never come back to you again until the place closes. Oh, and one time my friend's toast had a spot of mold on it. Look, those may seem like serious flaws, but I just don't give a shit, because that aside this place is charming as fuck and super cheap. Oh, don't get the biscuits and gravy, biscuits are like chewing on diamonds. But most of the food rocks. the Greek Style Philly is like, one of the best things I've ever eaten. Omelets are great, chili and grilled cheese special is insanely cheap. Donuts are cheap and good. Yeah, pretty much aside from the biscuits and gravy everything I've eaten here is awesome. Just go here. Bring cash.

I love this place. Cheapest best breakfast for money in Indianapolis. Have been going for years. Best bagels and croissant breakfast sandwiches in the city for under $3.oo. The downside small, and dated. Also cash only. Its not health food. It a doughnut shop that serves good food.

  • Randy B.

I can't vouch for their food, but I've been craving their chocolate-iced doughnut for weeks now since I had my first. Probably the best doughnut I've ever had! Went back today, been craving their doughnuts for weeks. Just as good as I remember! 12/13/2011

Yum, yum Donut Shop! I always thought that I wasn't a fan of donuts, DD is gritty and flavorless and I never saw the appeal of KK. Meh, donuts. Then I came across The Donut Shop. Goodness gracious, that's a good donut! That cherry donut is out of this world and the blueberry... stuff of dreams. The breakfast itself is OK - run of the mill greasy spoon stuff. Then you get the bill and it's about as cheap as dirt. Well, then... what a treat! I still feel a little silly about giving this place 4 stars. I mean, this is a greasy spoon. Is it really on par with a true 4 star like Fogo de Chao? I'm not sure, but as yelp says, "Yay! I'm a fan."

  • Hillery P.

There's something to be said for a cheap meal...$3.75 for spaghetti and garlic bread is a steal! Never had anything bad here, but certainly not anything to write home about either. great for those times (aka hangover) that you just need some food and don't want to pay a lot.

The only bubble tea I've seen in Indy so far. Odd spot to find it, but I'm not complaining - it was decent. Cash Only

Cheap, satisfying greasy spoon diner fare. You can feed your entire family for less than $10. Perfect for hangovers.

I've never sat down to eat at the Donut Shop, so this review is only about their donuts. However, the place is ALWAYS hoppin' when I go in there, so there must be something good about their breakfast. The donuts are simply amazing. I'm typically not a big fan of donuts because they are usually soooo sweet I'm overwhelmed. However, the donuts at The Donut Shop are perfect. They are the only donuts I have ever craved in my whole life. The Buttermilk donuts are my favorites - both regular and the donut holes. Also, try the honeybun/cinnamon roll looking ones. Delicious. It's also crazy cheap for donuts. We usually get 6 donuts, a dozen donut holes and a couple coffees for like $6. The service is usually pretty quick at the donut line. I'm usually in and out in a matter of minutes.

Breakfast breakfast breakfast...If I say it 3 times, you know what to get here! Simple and home made style, real good price too! Death to Dennys.

If you wanna see what a half dozen asian women can do with exclusively Sysco-supplied food... Go here. That's not a dig. They do awesome breakfast, killer donuts and all for a cheap price. But I can't stand to give it better that 3 stars cuz of the low quality. Think of it this way: the best cafeteria breakfast at a price that reflects that. Cash only

I love going to The Donut Shop for breakfast any day of the week! It's a small place. It's nothing fancy but has good service and cheap good food. Not to mention the homemade donuts are delicious! Especially the blueberry donuts!

    The sprinkled donuts rock.

more than a donut shop. they serve breakfast and lunch. their donuts are the way a donut should be. made fresh on the spot, not at some factory and shipped in. breakfast plates are the cheapest in town. nothing gourmet, just your basic eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes etc...i recommend the french toast. there's always some old timers in there, who look like they've been coming in for years. only complaint is they don't take credit cards, so bring your cash.

This restaurant is good for yummy breakfast sandwiches, and, of course, donuts. I recommend the honey dip. (bliss)

  • Jerry W.

  • Kinsey C.

My husband and I love the Donut Shop and spend most of our Saturday mornings there. The donuts are amazing, but we love it for a good, quick, inexpensive, diner style breakfast. Only takes cash so be aware before you go!

  • Aninda S.

  • Claire L.

  • Cammie W.

My FAVORITE donut shop in Indy! From their custard filled, to their chocolate and angel whipped fillings, they are so decadently delicious. I'm dreaming about their country fried steak breakfast and a box of sweet donuts to go right now...

Cash only! Not impressed. The selection for breakfast was limited. The Deli acriss the street is better and they take debit/credit. Also, the service was really slow. I had to ask for the bill at the register.

So...Donut Shop...let's just say I wouldn't bring my sweet ol' granny here for Sunday brunch BUT... I would most definitively show up for breakfast/lunch after a late night out. The food is passable if not good and the prices are low. Cash only! 3.5 stars

There's something special about cash only breakfast joints. Not a high matinees spot but great for a hangover. Grab a doughnut for the road!

    (4)
  • Jessica S.

All I've had are the donuts, and that's really all I ask of a place called The Donut Shop. I stop by each Saturday morning for a dozen to share with friends. I love that they have bacon donuts, and the oreo ones are also pretty fantastic. Come prepared, it's cash only.

  • Theodore B.

I'm a fan."

I can't vouch for their food, but I've been craving their chocolate-iced doughnut for weeks now since I had my first. Probably the best doughnut I've ever had! Went back today, been craving their doughnuts for weeks. Just as good as I remember! 12/13/2011

There's something to be said for a cheap meal...$3.75 for spaghetti and garlic bread is a steal! Never had anything bad here, but certainly not anything to write home about either. great for those times (aka hangover) that you just need some food and don't want to pay a lot.

The Donut Shop is Broad Ripples best kept secret!!! Food is awesome, especially for the price. It's got a great, quiet atmosphere. Super relaxing!!!

The ultimate greasy spoon restaurant in Indianapolis. I couldn't finish my bacon and cheese omelet, super huge chunks of home fries and two slices of toast... all for only $4.60 cents. It's cash only but it's so cheap that three people were stuffed silly for under twenty bucks (twenty five if you count the tip) so a large withdrawal from the ATM is not warranted.

more than a donut shop. they serve breakfast and lunch. their donuts are the way a donut should be. made fresh on the spot, not at some factory and shipped in. breakfast plates are the cheapest in town. nothing gourmet, just your basic eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes etc...i recommend the french toast. there's always some old timers in there, who look like they've been coming in for years. only complaint is they don't take credit cards, so bring your cash.

This restaurant is good for yummy breakfast sandwiches, and, of course, donuts. I recommend the honey dip. (bliss)
