As soon as you park your car, you'll see this huge texas flag and it will make you think twice if you're really in IN. My family was seated right away and free peanuts were ready on the table. We were served with their free bread and it was good. My hubby had the sirloin steak with fries and apple sauce and he liked it. He even ordered their strawberry cooler and enjoyed it as well. I had the grilled salmon with seasoned rice and it was so salty... Beyond salty. I informed the server an was offered if I wanted it replace. I declined politely and it was all good. I have to say that the service was great as well as the sweet tea. Now about the rattle snake taxidermy hanging on the wall... Now that's a different story :)

Texas Roadhouse is the only restaurant I will order the sirloin. Extremely noisy, with too many small children. We asked to be seated away from small children, but there was a toddler literally over my shoulder screaming in my ear the entire time I was there. Great food, but the atmosphere is terrible.

Arrived after the "early bird" window (ends at 6pm); not a big deal but didn't expect to wait 10 min for a 4 top. Food was good but I really wanted prime rib (med) yet by 6pm they were sold out? (It wasn't even a special item). Then the waiter came back & said the cook could do one (well done); *WTH* that's just abuse. If he could get one (well done), then stop cooking it now and serve it to me. I was eating with the family, so I settled for chicken crispers and mashed potatoes. -1 for not having what I wanted; -1 more for offering to serve me leather.

I like that the quality at Texas Roadhouse is consistent. The wait staff is attentive and, though very young overall, not lost in a haze of being too hip for diners. I love the call-ahead seating. The last couple of visits, my steaks have been cooked properly as I ordered them. At most steakhouses I expect to receive my steak cooked at least medium-well regardless of how I order it. My wife has never been disappointed in the ribeye, her usual selection. The atmosphere is fun and the place is usually crowded. I definitely look forward to going.

I went to his restaurant to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It was on a Sunday and the place was packed but they told us they had a table. After parading us through the entire place, except for the kitchen, we were eventually seated. It took like forever to get a waitress to finally wait on us. The one we got had a slight attitude and it was even reflected more so in how she brought our drinks and food. I know finding someone to work these days is difficult, but with the hard economic times and high unemployment, you kind of would think that they people they would have working wouldn't be ticked off. Of course, in all fairness, she probably was made because nobody would give her much of a tip for the level of service she delivered...or failed to deliver to be more accurate. Its not like you are going to a McDonalds. WHen you pay almost a $100 for a meal, you expect some good food. There food was just OK. Nothing special...nothing to rave about....but average enough that you really don't think very hard about going back. These cookie cutter restaurants have been over built and their service and quality of food is not consistent with the amount of money they charge.

A great chain restaurant, which I like even more than Outback, something I never thought I'd finally say about any competiting chains, vs. them. Prices are more modest than Outback, and a fun gimmick about here is that you get to throw peanuts on the floor! Allison is totally right about the bread, since I even tested how the bread tasted without the butter, and it tastes just as great. I'm very, very glad that I talked my parents into going here on the way back from my recent trip to Georgia, especially since I'd kept wanting to try Texas Roadhouse for some time. It's too bad they have very, very few locations in the Chicagoland area, other than in Naperville, Tinley Park, and Joliet. Hope eventually, they do get around to putting one in the north suburbs of Chicago, since I'd love to see them further expand in the Chicago area.

I had the grilled salmon, fresh veggies, and seasoned rice. The salmon was good, bit nothing special and tasted more simmered than grilled. The rice was perfectly cooked as were the veggies. The sidewalk outside was slick, and a couple of people slipped on the way in. My waiter was friendly and didn't come too often (as to be annoying). However the other staff was standing near the bar in front of my table. I felt like they were hovering over me. When I entered the staff seamed confused and disorganized. When I left, there was no "thanks for coming. Have a nice day." or anything like that. The sign at the entrance says they charge a 15% gratuity, but I didn't see it on my check, so I gave my usual 22% tip.

Ken and his staff are fabulous and the food is always tastey! You won't regret choosing to eat here! My husband got the ribs which he said were the best he'd ever had. We really like Chili's ribs but he said they were better than that. I got the cheeseburger and fries. It was seasoned perfectly as the fries were as well. The Ranger Rib Basket was perfect for my picky eater. Overall a great experience. We only waited about 10 min for a table. Which was not too bad considering we were there during the after church rush!

Texas roadhouse is a really good chain restaurant. The rolls are adducting. The fried pickle chips are only second to the ones at the state fair. They are the best ones you can get year round. The steaks are fabulous for the price. The decor reminds me of what it's like to be in the heart of Texas. It definitely goes with the restaurant theme.

Chris was our server and we had the best customer service we've had in a very long time. He was very attentive, our drinks were never empty, very quick with any requests and the food was hot and the steak tender. We chose it because of it's close proximity to our hotel, but I'm tickled we didn't end up elsewhere. The only hiccup was a salad was missing and the server promptly corrected that as he had entered a vegetable for a side instead of a salad. For a party of 4, plus a highchair, we were quoted 15-25 minutes for a wait time. After 20 minutes, I asked about the wait and was told I had 5 more minutes on my ticket. After another 20 minutes, I went up and said we'd be happy to take a smaller table and put the kids on our laps. 3 more tables of 4 were seated (that arrived well after us). The manager finally seated us after over an hour of wait time. Guests that were taking too long to eat were blamed. We requested our children's meals to be brought out first, and they were after 20 more minutes. I had to ask twice for silverware. We were given an appetizer for free, but ended up taking our meal togo because the kids couldn't handle waiting anymore (and after almost 2 hours, who could blame them). Food was underwhelming and greasy. Won't be going back.

Our server was fantastic, very intensive and always right there. I got a house salad with Thousand Island dressing, for the main course I got a grilled salmon with green beans. The house salad with fresh and crisp, it was excellent. The green beans were slightly overcooked and a little mushy, would like them to be a little bit crisper. The grilled salmon with excellent however a slight bit undercooked, also had a lil bit too much lemon. Other than that, the meal was excellent. I would definitely come back and eat here again.

Food was decent, about what you would expect from a chain restaurant. However, about 1 hour after I left, I was struck with nausea and some horrifying secretory diarrhea that was almost certainly caused by some sort of food poisoning... my guess is that it was Bacillus cereus or staph aureus based on the timing till the onset of my symptoms. My advice, don't order anything that could act as a culture medium for either of these two organisms... Even if they reheat the food, B. cereus may stil cause serious damage to your bowels, as can S. aureus' toxins. So, please enjoy your food, but be ready for the fireworks afterwards.

What do you say about a Texas Roadhouse. Well from the very rude "greater" at the door, to the waitress that coudn't wait to get off work. Of course we all ordered steaks, I ordered filet madalions medium rare on rice, just wanted somethying simple. Filets were well done, rice had good flavor, lol. Overall it's an ok place, my friends said their steaks were overcooked as well. We just ate and left.

"Party of 8" and they won't seat us until everyone arrives. They place is close to empty..what a joke We swung by on a weekend around 3 or 4 pm. There were maybe a few tables with people there and employees standing everywhere. We had 8 total, but only my wife and I were present since the others were coming from the mall and less than 5 minutes away. Despite my wife being visibly pregnant they refused to budge from their policy not to seat the entire party until everyone was there. Once the rest arrived a few minutes later they seated us. Our server was good and gave us time to visit while checking in to see if we needed anything or wanted to order. Our food did take a bit to come out. but with a 'large' party it wasn't too horrible at all. They were selling 'holiday gift cards', and had something going where you could get a free appetizer if you bought a gift card for $35. However, accordingly to our server we couldn't purchase the gift card and use it same day. So we passed on the offer. The food was good.. we had a mix of things including some dill pickle chips, salads, and pulled pork sandwiches. Personally, I had the pulled pork. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. It wasn't pulled by any means. My sandwich consisted of 3 large pieces of pork that had been slow cooked. The flavor was pretty good but left a bit to be desired as it was a bit chunk of meat and not pulled. Overall a decent experience, but typical Roadhouse chain food and service.

I would strongly advise against this place if you wish to be gluten free, as then are not sure what all is contained in their menu items, and do not have a gluten free menu. My food was not bad except I ordered a medium rare steak and did not get that temp. The food was still good, but the service was sub par and they just didn't seem to want to be there or even pay attention anytime we ordered or had questions.

Texas Roadhouse was a nice meal after attending the Indy 500. I ended up ordering the NY Strip with a sweet potato and chili. The chili was very good and steak done properly. The cut of meat was fine - you could do better but pay more, so not unexpected. The server was very nice and prompt - but tended to forget if you said you wanted more iced tea or water. Not that big of a deal. I would recommend this restaurant.

My family and I came here from California on a road trip. We were staying at the Best Western Inn, which is not even 50 paces from the steak house. Upon entering the place, I noticed something that was a little alarming... The floor was CLEAN! If you have ever been to a Texas Roadhouse, you know there are barrels of peanuts in the waiting room, and small trash cans full on every table. People are encouraged to help themselves while they wait, and throw the shells on the floor. The floor was immaculate! I wasn't the only one that was hesitant to throw my shells on the floor... You could see people meandering around in the lobby with shells in their hand. This was very disappointing. This is one of the novelties of Texas Roadhouse. The floors at every other franchise I have been to have been COVERED in peanut shells. We called ahead because we are veterans. There's no way I would take my children here and wait in the lobby without calling ahead. The average wait on a busy night is 30 to 40 minutes. A table was ready for us when we arrived. On our way to the table, we noticed that this particular location was very cramped. Our greeter attempted to seat my one and a half year old at the end of our table, in arms reach of another family's food. We had to ask to remove a chair instead and sit the high chair in it's place. This seemed like common sense to me. We ordered waters for the kids, and margaritas for the wife and I. While we were waiting, I noticed there were TRASH PAILS on the table for the peanut shells! There were very few shells on the floor, and in the spirit of the roadhouse, I threw all of mine on the floor, and encouraged the kids to do the same. Some others were following suit. A new family came to sit down, and two of an existing group of customers had to get out of their seats so the new customers could get by. There was NO way they could squeeze by. The chairs had to be pushed all the way in to allow safe passage. It was at this point, before we placed our order, that I heard another lady at the table next to ours talking about her steak. She had returned her first portion because it was too rare. She ordered medium rare, and in her words, "It was still mooing at her". I saw her meat, and it was bright pink, soggy, and tore loose from itself in a shredding action rather than a tender, red, juicy rare steak. It was clearly cold and raw. This lady was a portly woman, about two and a quarter, and her husband wasn't far behind. He had finished off his chicken and was grimacing at his wife's pile of cold flesh on her plate. It looked like something out of a horror movie, or worse, something Rocky just finished punching for an hour. She sent her food back a second time, and the waiter was very apologetic, and hurried to the back with the cold dripping slop. You don't go to a steak house and order a hot dog, but It was at this point that I decided to order my steak medium well to be on the safe side. I figured it would arrive at the table medium rare, and that would be fine. The poor portly lady's steak arrived for the third try, and... It was raw. She boxed it up and took it with her, no doubt to finish the cook's job at home herself. My steak was presented to me on a nice hot plate, with fries and jack cheese on top. Then I saw it... The nightmare of every chef... STEAK SAUCE on the table. No self respecting steak house provides steak sauce unless a patron asks for it. A steak should stand alone on seasoning and inherent flavor brought out by proper cooking. My steak was leather, with some shoe strings mixed in for good measure. It might have been gristle, but I wouldn't have bet on it. I am not one to complain (although I do like a tell a story here and there) but I had to tell the waiter how horrible the steak was AFTER I paid the check. She wanted to bring the manager over, but I told her no, that's why I paid it first. I don't want my check discounted. I just wanted the manager to talk to the cook. The restrooms were not air conditioned. Enough said about that. The service was good, and the rest of the food was great. The margaritas were not strong enough. They were more like smoothies. My wife ordered chicken and mushrooms, and her meal tasted great. For this reason, and for the good service, I give this location two stars.

After another 20 minutes, I went up and said we'd be happy to take a smaller table and put the kids on our laps. 3 more tables of 4 were seated (that arrived well after us). The manager finally seated us after over an hour of wait time. Guests that were taking too long to eat were blamed. We requested our children's meals to be brought out first, and they were after 20 more minutes. I had to ask twice for silverware. We were given an appetizer for free, but ended up taking our meal togo because the kids couldn't handle waiting anymore (and after almost 2 hours, who could blame them). Food was underwhelming and greasy. Won't be going back.

Our server was fantastic, very intensive and always right there. I got a house salad with Thousand Island dressing, for the main course I got a grilled salmon with green beans. The house salad with fresh and crisp, it was excellent. The green beans were slightly overcooked and a little mushy, would like them to be a little bit crisper. The grilled salmon with excellent however a slight bit undercooked, also had a lil bit too much lemon. Other than that, the meal was excellent. I would definitely come back and eat here again.

Food was decent, about what you would expect from a chain restaurant. However, about 1 hour after I left, I was struck with nausea and some horrifying secretory diarrhea that was almost certainly caused by some sort of food poisoning... my guess is that it was Bacillus cereus or staph aureus based on the timing till the onset of my symptoms. My advice, don't order anything that could act as a culture medium for either of these two organisms... Even if they reheat the food, B. cereus may stil cause serious damage to your bowels, as can S. aureus' toxins. So, please enjoy your food, but be ready for the fireworks afterwards.

What do you say about a Texas Roadhouse. Well from the very rude "greater" at the door, to the waitress that coudn't wait to get off work. Of course we all ordered steaks, I ordered filet madalions medium rare on rice, just wanted somethying simple. Filets were well done, rice had good flavor, lol. Overall it's an ok place, my friends said their steaks were overcooked as well. We just ate and left.

"Party of 8" and they won't seat us until everyone arrives. They place is close to empty..what a joke We swung by on a weekend around 3 or 4 pm. There were maybe a few tables with people there and employees standing everywhere. We had 8 total, but only my wife and I were present since the others were coming from the mall and less than 5 minutes away. Despite my wife being visibly pregnant they refused to budge from their policy not to seat the entire party until everyone was there. Once the rest arrived a few minutes later they seated us. Our server was good and gave us time to visit while checking in to see if we needed anything or wanted to order. Our food did take a bit to come out. but with a 'large' party it wasn't too horrible at all. They were selling 'holiday gift cards', and had something going where you could get a free appetizer if you bought a gift card for $35. However, accordingly to our server we couldn't purchase the gift card and use it same day. So we passed on the offer. The food was good.. we had a mix of things including some dill pickle chips, salads, and pulled pork sandwiches. Personally, I had the pulled pork. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. It wasn't pulled by any means. My sandwich consisted of 3 large pieces of pork that had been slow cooked. The flavor was pretty good but left a bit to be desired as it was a bit chunk of meat and not pulled. Overall a decent experience, but typical Roadhouse chain food and service.

I would strongly advise against this place if you wish to be gluten free, as then are not sure what all is contained in their menu items, and do not have a gluten free menu. My food was not bad except I ordered a medium rare steak and did not get that temp. The food was still good, but the service was sub par and they just didn't seem to want to be there or even pay attention anytime we ordered or had questions.

Texas Roadhouse was a nice meal after attending the Indy 500. I ended up ordering the NY Strip with a sweet potato and chili. The chili was very good and steak done properly. The cut of meat was fine - you could do better but pay more, so not unexpected. The server was very nice and prompt - but tended to forget if you said you wanted more iced tea or water. Not that big of a deal. I would recommend this restaurant.

Huge margaritas the size of my head for less than $10!! One less star because our server was kinda weird...he dropped off our check like a drive by shooting. No thank you no nothing...weird.

My family and I came here from California on a road trip. We were staying at the Best Western Inn, which is not even 50 paces from the steak house. Upon entering the place, I noticed something that was a little alarming... The floor was CLEAN! If you have ever been to a Texas Roadhouse, you know there are barrels of peanuts in the waiting room, and small trash cans full on every table. People are encouraged to help themselves while they wait, and throw the shells on the floor. The floor was immaculate! I wasn't the only one that was hesitant to throw my shells on the floor... You could see people meandering around in the lobby with shells in their hand. This was very disappointing. This is one of the novelties of Texas Roadhouse. The floors at every other franchise I have been to have been COVERED in peanut shells. We called ahead because we are veterans. There's no way I would take my children here and wait in the lobby without calling ahead. The average wait on a busy night is 30 to 40 minutes. A table was ready for us when we arrived. On our way to the table, we noticed that this particular location was very cramped. Our greeter attempted to seat my one and a half year old at the end of our table, in arms reach of another family's food. We had to ask to remove a chair instead and sit the high chair in it's place. This seemed like common sense to me. We ordered waters for the kids, and margaritas for the wife and I. While we were waiting, I noticed there were TRASH PAILS on the table for the peanut shells! There were very few shells on the floor, and in the spirit of the roadhouse, I threw all of mine on the floor, and encouraged the kids to do the same. Some others were following suit. A new family came to sit down, and two of an existing group of customers had to get out of their seats so the new customers could get by. There was NO way they could squeeze by. The chairs had to be pushed all the way in to allow safe passage. It was at this point, before we placed our order, that I heard another lady at the table next to ours talking about her steak. She had returned her first portion because it was too rare. She ordered medium rare, and in her words, "It was still mooing at her". I saw her meat, and it was bright pink, soggy, and tore loose from itself in a shredding action rather than a tender, red, juicy rare steak. It was clearly cold and raw. This lady was a portly woman, about two and a quarter, and her husband wasn't far behind. He had finished off his chicken and was grimacing at his wife's pile of cold flesh on her plate. It looked like something out of a horror movie, or worse, something Rocky just finished punching for an hour. She sent her food back a second time, and the waiter was very apologetic, and hurried to the back with the cold dripping slop. You don't go to a steak house and order a hot dog, but It was at this point that I decided to order my steak medium well to be on the safe side. I figured it would arrive at the table medium rare, and that would be fine. The poor portly lady's steak arrived for the third try, and... It was raw. She boxed it up and took it with her, no doubt to finish the cook's job at home herself. My steak was presented to me on a nice hot plate, with fries and jack cheese on top. Then I saw it... The nightmare of every chef... STEAK SAUCE on the table. No self respecting steak house provides steak sauce unless a patron asks for it. A steak should stand alone on seasoning and inherent flavor brought out by proper cooking. My steak was leather, with some shoe strings mixed in for good measure. It might have been gristle, but I wouldn't have bet on it. I am not one to complain (although I do like a tell a story here and there) but I had to tell the waiter how horrible the steak was AFTER I paid the check. She wanted to bring the manager over, but I told her no, that's why I paid it first. I don't want my check discounted. I just wanted the manager to talk to the cook. The restrooms were not air conditioned. Enough said about that. The service was good, and the rest of the food was great. The margaritas were not strong enough. They were more like smoothies. My wife ordered chicken and mushrooms, and her meal tasted great. For this reason, and for the good service, I give this location two stars.
