I love my Chinese food. Coming from a family of cooks, my expectations of Chinese food has to be absolutely the best. Their egg drop soup is good, but not the best I've had. I don't recommend their egg rolls. It wasn't good to me at all and their spring rolls were meh. The food on the buffet wasn't as fresh, but I didn't expect that they were going to put out fresh food since it was slow. Lomein noodles wasn't that bad, it was a little bit salty for me. Overall I would give this place a 2.5 to 3 stars.

When the restaurant we really wanted to go to was too busy to get a table, we went to Super China Buffet for a Friday lunch. A lot of the food (egg rolls, fried rice, lo mein - you know, the staples) tasted "off" to us. A couple of the chicken and veggie dishes were extremely salty. The ice cream machine was being cleaned and remained unusable during the busy lunch crowd. The dining room needs some serious cleaning. The long row of windows along the front of the restaurant was covered with greasy handprints. That doesn't happen in just one day - those were days', possibly weeks' worth of greasy hands. I left feeling like I needed to shower or bathe in Purell. I won't be back.

The food was okay... or best thing about experience. The guy or owner was less than cordial. Someone took our silverware which you get upon paying on entrance. So we took the ones laying on counter. The ice cream machine is broken or not stocked. The steamed rice was crunchy. The bathroom doors do not close and or lock which for a women makes it pretty tricky when trying to pee with one foot holding door... I'm not sure but 2 stars may be little generous. The broccoli was good. Hoping we will survive the night... update to follow. Maybe try somewhere else.

Absolutely love this place. On 2 business trips over the last 6 months, and stopped in 4 times. The salad selection was a bit underwhelming, but the entrees were all marvelous. I will be back if I ever return to Indianapolis. Excellent buffet for under $10. You will not go away hungry.

Super quiet, clean chinese buffet. Food was fresh even during non busy hours.

I'm rating this 3/5 stars because this is one of the best Chinese buffets around where I live. The price for two people is around 14 bucks including the drinks. The dinner buffet is around 18 bucks for two people. I really like the dinner buffet more because they have their buttery shrimp out and their sushi. The sushi is nothing impressive at all, but I do appreciate the selection. When the sweet and sour chicken is fresh it is GOOD, really tender. The spring rolls are good. The honey chicken is always terrible - WAY too tough. The sauce is good though. Nothing too spectacular, but the shrimp at dinner time is well worth it to me. We do make this our usual chinese place.

I don't think I'm being generous here. It was a sold "met" on my expectations for a modestly priced Chinese buffet. Nothing spectacular, but I think it now exceeds the reputation that "Super China Buffet" franchises seemed to have. I have been here at least twice since 2006. My 2006 visit was okay, but my later one wasn't good, so I didn't give them a review for that visit. But tonight I was driving by, and decided to give them another chance, and I'm glad I did. It was cleaner, and the food better than I remembered from my last experience. The various Chinese buffets around town seem to have cut back on staff. The cashier was doing triple-duty busing tables and bringing food out to put on the steam trays. Lettuce was fresh. Also on the salad bar was shredded cheese, tomato wedges, sliced pickles, sliced cucumbers, and sliced black olives. Of note on the cold bar were two kinds of creamy seafood salad items. Those were worth sampling. The steam trays were kind of short on vegetables, but plenty of the meat dishes had vegetables in them. The shrimp dishes were good. The egg roll and the smaller roll (I forget the name) were kind of "meh". Dessert was jello, tapioca, pudding, and the cheapy light cakes and the standard tasteless cookies. They have a frozen custard machine, but I didn't try it. Men's room was cleaner than average for Chinese restaurants. Price for the supper buffet was $7.99 (including drink) plus tax, $8.71 total. I forgot to note the lunch price, but I think it was only $5-something, including drink. You can also get to-go containers and canned pop for carry-out. It's not a place to impress anyone, but if you're in the area, and like this kind of food (especially the shrimp), and want an inexpensive place, it fits the bill.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly.
