Scotty’s Brewhouse Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Pretty good food, great beer selection. Half price appetizers after 10 on weekends are amazing. Usually have good servers who are knowledgeable of the beer list. Went here dressed up in our Halloween costumes for a drink and ended up getting third in a costume contest. We didn't even know we were in one, so that was awesome. Got two mugs and a $25 gift card. One criticism is the mug club. There really isn't any benefit to it unless you drink on Sunday and Monday. Also the menu is a bit ridiculous. Stick with the appetizers and you'll be ok.

I don't ever write reviews but after my last visit here I thought it was finally time to voice my opinion. We actually do visit Scotty's all the time. I must say, each time we go its gets worse and worse. Maybe its because its was my friend's bday but there were just so many little things that just added up. We first started going there about 5 years ago mainly because of their great drink specials. On Wednesdays, you could get a pitcher of any their many import beers on draft for only $6 and domestics for $3. Now domestics are $6 and imports are $9 which is an ok deal but you can find much better deals at many of the other bars/restaurants around the city. First our waffle fries were cold and chewy when they came out, which seems to have happened the last few times. So we asked for new ones, when they came out we literally got 6; 6 waffle fries, which were very hot and tasty but our first order we got there were probably 3 times as many. We always had to ask for refills, my wife got the all you can eat soup, which all seemed to be a disappointment that day, and came out after everyone had their meals. And the wings we ordered we had to remind the waiter we ordered them because when they finally came out everyone was done with their meal. There were just so many little things that happened, which if it was only one or two things it wouldn't have been a big deal been it just kept getting worse. When we asked for our check, they charged us double than what our drinks were supposed to be, and we told them atleast 3 times it was someones birthday and the waiter said ok he would do something for us, but no one ever did. I know it sounds like I'm complaining a lot but everything just kept adding up to make it a terrible meal. The food is usually average and their drink specials are not that great. The "lunch specials" they have are very disappointing and need to have more variety and you are not allowed to substitute anything. Don't get me wrong, Scotty's isn't all terrible, they do have a good beer selection and a great atmosphere to go watch a game with a group of friends, but if you are looking to have a great meal with excellent service this is not the place. Don't take my word for it though, If you have not been here before, try it for yourself and see what you think.

Scotty's is a sports bar originating from Muncie and this downtown spot is its latest iteration. First off, it's in a great location for just prior or after Pacers games as the fieldhouse is just nearby. The firepit and outdoors couches lend a unique vibe to this place. Inside, the area is festooned with Indiana sports memorabilia: jerseys, pictures, murals, and the like. I like these little touches--it gives the place a homey feel. The standards are all on tap and the mixed drinks, I have to say, are a little weak here. The food is for the most part, standard bar far: nachos, burgers, etc. I have to say though: the mofo chicken wrap hot sauce is legit. I very rarely find a "hot" option that actually makes my mouth breathe fire like this, much less tickle my tongue. Kudos to Scotty's for not watering this down. The service can be spotty. Your waiter can sometimes be very attentive, other times you will barely see the person. It really depends on how busy they are. Lastly, be sure to go on Wednesdays: 6 dollar pitchers, baby!

I love Scotty's one trip and I'll hate it the next. Lucky for me my last trip was great and I'm going to attribute it to our bartender, Corey. Great service, great conversation and super helpful. Scotty Z and I have determined the secret to the service sauce is to stick with the bartenders. Sure, we've had good service out at the tables on occasion but neither of us could recall a time when we've had a bad experience bellying up to the bar. Additional warning to this review. If you plan to be seated expect your experience to drop into the 2-3 star range. I've been seated at the patio and *never* been served. In fact, I had about 4 different servers blow by me, never asking if someone had been by, if I needed anything, ect. I'd like to say this was a one time occurrence, but it's not. As for as I know, Scotty's is an Indiana chain so it's great for out of towners. They also have a wide selection on the menu. Favorites of mine include * Dill chips with horseradish sauces * Luke's Cajun Steak Wrap * Monte Frisco burger add pickles - it's like a patty melt. Be sure to ask for the thousand island dressing on the dies * BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad * Load waffle fries- seasoned fries with liquid cheese, bacon and sour cream. Other than Rally's loaded fried, this is my go to food on a really bad day * Steak quesadillas The restaurant inside is large and there is a HUGE patio along with a firepit and soft seating outside. Chances are, they will have a table for you. Try out scotty's and see how you like it!

This place sucks! The burgers were dry, the garnishments thrown on the plate, and the food was most certainly not fresh. My friend ordered a BBQ burger which was served with very little SHREDDED cheese. Yep, shredded not sliced. And when he sent it back for more cheese they add a very small amount of the same shredded cheese. I think the cook doesn't like cheese or is sacrificing food quality for food costs. We had to flag down a server to clear our table after the starter and then continually flag her down for drink refills. The sheer lack of quality in the food is why I will never eat there again. This location is nothing like the one in Bloomington, which is much better. I can't even remember what desert was like because the overall experience was so bad. If you like cheap poor quality food then go. I hope you don't get sick.

Scotty's is Scotty's. You know what you're going to get. Nothing super fantastic but it's solidly good. The outdoor patio is really nice. We took friends from out of town and they were wowed by the restrooms -- it was the Dyson hand dryers. My burger was really juicy and good. Parking can be a bitch -- and with construction across the street, it is difficult (and kind of dangerous) to walk to this location as well.

I really liked this place. There was a nice happy hour crowd at 5:30 on a Tuesday. I had a chicken sandwich that was marinated in hot sauce and tater tots. Really good, well cooked, and satisfying. Everyone I was with really liked their food. And the service was great.

  • Ben R.

Scotty's can be fun (especially if you sit on the patio) and they have some good menu choices (I like the Schumann Special Burger). The quantity of TVs can be overwhelming if you sit inside, but sports fans should like it. They have live music on the patio on Thursdays.

In our travels home from the Derby we decided to stop in Indy. Thanks to my handy Yelp app I was trying to find a non-chain place to eat lunch. I'd never heard of Scotty's Brewhouse, so it sounded promising. But Meh. It is in fact a chain. The menu is a book. The beer selection is decent, though not as eclectic as you would think a place with the name "Brewhouse" in it would be. Also, do they have their own brew or not? Nothing on the menu suggested that they did. Service was just fine. The food was mediocre. It is VERY kid friendly surprisingly, again for a "brewhouse" and kid-friendly is NOT a bonus to us. The patio outside is beautiful. Tons of seating and a fire-pit was couches surrounding it. Alas too chilly on this May day to sit outside. When the hostess was seating us she seemed crazy surprised we'd never been "in one of these" before. Never heard of it - but so she says we're getting one in Chicago. It should do fine on Navy Pier would be my guess.

Love the concept. Love the food. Love the staff. Bonuses: Incredible specials, kids eat free, half price apps after 9pm on Sundays, $6 48oz pitchers of whiskey, rum, or vodka on Sundays, along with what I am sure are many many more deals and specials! Scotty is also fun to follow on facebook! If you are visiting Indy or love the night life, give this place a try!

Scottys is just a good old sports bar. I enjoyed their burger (several options including a build your own) which was juicy and flavorful. An added perk was the outdoor seating with a fire pit for when the weather is nicer. If your just looking for a casual place out or a place to catch a game this may be for you. The only thing I would change is the addition of some salt.

As a beer fan, I love places that have a large selection of draft beers (not bottles, draft) and Scotty's brings it. They have a good selection of Indiana beers as well as craft brews from outside the state. I know I can usually find one or two New Albanian beers on draft here and that isn't all that common in Indy. I wish they had better drink specials during the week, but such is life at a busy bar downtown. The food is decent and I like that they source their beef locally. I'm really digging the Irish Stout Burger. Join the VIP club or follow Scott on Twitter for invites to cool events and discount offers.

The bartender sucked. We were sitting with empty glasses for over 10 minutes. There weren't that many people at bar. One of the guys kept flirting with a girl but didn't bother to ask us if we wanted drinks.

Last night we wanted a bite to eat before the hockey game at the whateveryoucallit Fieldhouse, so we stopped at Scotty's in downtown Indianapolis. The waitress was very friendly. She helped navigate the extensive menu and informed us of the drink specials, which included $6 beer pitchers (yay!). My friend and I decided to try the pretzel burger. What an excellent idea - combine a juicy burger with cheese wiz and thin onion rings in between two halves of a pretzel bun. It was gooey delicious. My husband had the BBQ burger and onion rings. He was pleased. The atmosphere was upscale sports bar. The enormous fire pit outside makes me a firm believer this place is a fun night outside on any crisp fall day. Overall, Scotty's was a fun time with fun food.

My husband and I came here on our first night in Indy. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with the mo fo sauce. I can handle spicy but this was crazy spicy! I felt bad having to tell our waitress, dianna, that I needed a wrap with milder sauce. She had no problem changing that order for us. We were approached by the manager, tyler, to let us know we would have our wrap soon. When the order came out, another manager, Alex, had the best stories to tell. We've never been to a place that gave us such great service and felt the 30% tip was well deserved. If we lived in Indy, we would definitely come all the time!

Prepare to be overwhelmed by TVs and the sheer size of the menu. Prepare to be underwhelmed by your server's total lack of knowledge of the beer and by the loud, not-so-good band on the outdoor patio. The food I've had here is pretty good, but anything smothered in mayo and cheese is bound to taste pretty good. They have a good beer selection, but the servers are never able to remember what's on tap or provide even the most basic descriptions of the type of beers they are. It also takes about 15 minutes to get a beer. (Yeah, so I like beer...) Despite this, Scotty's has a nice outdoor patio area for some good people watching. It's also smoke free and a good place to meet up downtown after work.

I have been a fan of Scotty's ever since they came to Indy. Always a great beer selection, decent drink specials and great food. The owner is an Indiana native that makes frequent stops into all his locations to make sure things are run properly. Family friendly environment is great for some but it doesnt loose the focus on well done sports bar style food, great beer selection and fun aptmosphere. Scotty's is active in all the communities they are in and you cant get on Facebook or twitter without thinking of the next tasty meal or after work drink. Overall its a great local place that has not forgotten where it came from. -Ian

It's a blaring sports bar with a magazine-like huge menu, good beer selection, and spunky/preppy/sporty spice servers. If that's what you are in the mood for - go to Scotty's, they do it right. Outdoor seating and fire pit is pretty sweet. I am impressed with their veggie options as well as their gluten-free menu.

  • Nick C.

I usually get lost or bored right around page one hundred on their menu. No joke it is complicated. Food is extra greasy, buttery, fried, super-sugary "American" stuff. Nothing memorable, but you do get your fill. A ton of TVs with good views. Service is random and even upsetting at times.

    (3)
  • Dan S.

Just plain terrible food. The menu was like a novel....way too many options. I couldn't decide between the lackluster chicken sandwiches, gross sounding burgers, or entrees. I chose chicken feathers....a poor excuse for chicken fingers. These definitely came directly out of the freezer straight to the deep fryer than to my table. Girlfriend ordered tilapia...bathing in sauces to cover the fishy, poor quality fish. Fine beer list. Servers were really nice. Great views of TVs with multiple games on. Nice patio outside. The one star is for the sub-par food. Go for drinks and that is all.

Good quality food every time. Well run business with fast service. Their outside patio is enormous. I have come here to watch the Final Four games and that was greatly done too.

Great burgers. I've had the Bison burger Burger meister ( that might not be the name of it, but it was fun typing it.) I think they buy everything they can locally. Food is good but trust me, they don't give it away.

  • Andrea S.

Bar food on steroids. Good stuff. The atmosphere can get a little "fratty" in the evenings on the weekends.

    (4)
  • Allie R.

Their black bean burger is one of those veggie burgers where you have to double check it isn't meat. Wasn't bad.. just weird. Very loud, kind of too loud. They were blasting Katy Perry music because she was playing that night. Along those lines, don't go here when there is any big event in town. Apparently they don't do specials when something is going on.

  • Bill S.

Fun to sit on the patio. Food good. I had the half and half salad, brocolli, and wine. Service a bit slow. A fun place to eat and drink.

Oh Scotty's what happened to you??? You started as a high quality unique offering in Muncie, IN and now have expanded to multiple locations and instead of increasing in quality, it has diminished with each new location you have opened. Not only that, but your beer prices seem to increase with each new menu you put out. No reason a Bell's or Upland should be running $5 a pint. I guess the term "recession buster" does not apply. I normally love giving rave reviews about restaurants but the last few times I have visited your 96th St location and your Downtown location (both in Indianapolis) I have been under-whelmed/dissapointed. We'll give an overview. Ambiance - 4 hosts at the host stand greet you, but they don't necessarily seat you. They just stood there and basically expected you to pick a table. Blaring music from the late 90s was a plus but made it hard to hear each other at 6pm. Every TV but one was on the same station. I love ESPN, but what is the use in having multiple sets if they are all playing ESPN? Menu - We get it Scotty. Your menu is 3 lbs. You have a lot to choose from, but nothing is really above 2/5 stars in taste. What happened to the 3 pager you had in Muncie where the food was quality and competitively priced? I think you may be too big for your own good. Specials - $12 Burger special and $4 beer special. Not anything special about that. Sever - This was a complete joke. The guy didn't know the menu, didn't know the specials, didn't know the difference between a draught beer or a bottled beer, and couldn't tell us which beers were from Indiana (which was the special). He kept using the excuse "we are getting a new menu so everyone is confused" We were patient with him, as he was foreign, and allowed him to make FIVE separate trips to the bar to verify the above questions. Piss poor. Not to mention he phantomed out on the meal after he had his food runners drop it off with no pre bussing and no check. We actually had to leave our seat to find him to get the check. Food - Like a said usually a strong suit that could save the experience, but not this time. We had a handful of differnt items, nothing worth having again. One lady ordered a cajun tuna sandwich which came out as a well done tuna steak on rice. I know that its the midwest but tuna is meant to be rare or seared, not light brown on the inside. The cole slaw was rancid and the chicken in the appetizers and the wraps was dry and tasted a bit old. Not even the "Mo Fo" sauce could hide how bad it was. Just an overall dissapointment from a brand that used to mean quality. Scotty if you get the chance to read this, maybe you can make a few changes: -Stop wasting money on oversized menus -Stop with the daily email spam on supposed specials and events -Return to quality in - hiring, food taste, beer specials, and general professionalism as a business -You had a great brand, stop running it into the ground.

I loooove their Pork Tenderloin.. pair it up with some loaded tater tots and you are headed to heaven (cholesterol be damned!). The wide selection of beers (several local flavors) is impressive, all tastes covered. I haven't finished counting all the TVs yet... not a bad seat in the house to watch the game. When Gen-Con was in town they played Sci-Fi classics! Scotty and his team are tapped into Social Media and are extremely responsive... they truly want to make sure they've done everything to make your visit the best.

  • Becca M.

Scotty's has food and drink options for everyone. I tend to order the burgers, salads and appetizers. They are a great option for family dining or to watch sports. Many IN beer options and a festive environment to enjoy lunch, dinner or just grab a drink.

Great service with the food to match! Friendly staff recommend the traditional chicken wings (they're bigger than the boneless)

Lots and lots of televisions with dudes sportsing pretty hard. Regular sports, special sports, and sports championships. All just around the corner from the local sports venue. I went here once and had "pulled pork nachos" because someone said they were good. Not bad actually. Another time I went here the bottom fell out of my simulated Mason jar. My waiter told me it was no big deal because it happened all the time. Wut?

Where to start with Scotty? Well, since I have discovered him and his restaurant not too long ago, I have visited about 3 or so times. I don't know what it is about me but when I find a yummy restaurant I have to take all of my visiting family and friends there when they come to visit. So naturally, once I fell in love with Scotty's I felt the need to introduce my loved ones. Every time I have been there I have received great service. The servers are social, nice, and attentive (even on a very busy Thursday evening when the Pacers were playing the Cavs that weekend...you know that's going to bring in a lot of business.) I just really enjoy the atmosphere of this restaurant. I love being downtown and it is located right where you can see the circle. The outdoor patio looks so inviting. They keep their fire lit and their beautiful Thomas Edison looking light-bulbs lit to complete the urban city ambiance. I'm a sucker for some twinkling lights and a great city view. Also, when my roommate and I went to Scotty's one Tuesday they were had live music. There were three talented musicians, from different bands but they played well together, playing some 90's alt throwbacks and even a little country. I really enjoyed the band. However, I could understand how people may get annoyed because of the volume. It was difficult to converse if you had a table too close. Another thing I found that could be annoying are the TV's in the restroom. But not just in the restroom, in the STALLS. To me this is completely unnecessary, but maybe to some it is a neat feature. The appetizers, specifically the nachos and boneless buffalo wings, were phenomenal. And that was just to get us started. I had a cheeseburger, named the Juicy Lucy (ironically that is my mom's name, she had one too), two of the three times that I have visited. It is just so tasty. Of course I have to add, american cheese, lettuce, and bacon because I have a picky tastes. But what's really cool about Scotty's is that you can build your own burger. First you pick your meat, then your cheese, and whatever kind of toppings and sauces. However, some toppings may cost extra, for example bacon. But to me, that is understandable. (Warning: my food pictures have a couple of bites missing. I couldn't help myself. Whoops.) Next, of course you get a side with most entrees. I tried to be a little healthier so I choose the steamed broccoli, which was a little tough, but tasted delicious. I am also a sucker for steamed broccoli. Yum. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I also tried some of my friends garlic fries, also amazing. They also sell local beer from the 3 wise men brewing company so they have plenty of beer. I am not 21, so I was not able to experience this perk. But I'm sure people enjoy it. Overall, I enjoyed my Scotty experiences. I will always suggest this restaurant if someone asks me where to eat in downtown Indianapolis.

Has pork nachos and sriracha tacos was really good only thing I would change would be the barbecue sauce that was added to my tacos other than that they were good also had mac and cheese as a side it wasn't all that but it was still good the nachos are on a bed of homemade chips chips were good service was excellent great atmosphere had the local three wise men beer pretty good

I ate here for lunch with my colleague while in Indy for business as recommended by the receptionist at our hotel. We ordered: Totchos: $8.99 Buffalo Chicken Wrap, including sweet tea and chips: $7.99 Indiana Pork Tenderloin with blue cheese macaroni: $10.99 A Beer Sampler The good: Great location. Decor slightly nicer than your average sports bar. TVs in every booth as well as large overhead TVs. The server was friendly and prompt although we were not in a hurry. The portions were monstrous and very appropriate for the price point. The menu is overwhelmingly vast and sure to have something for everyone. The average: The food was not bad, but it didn't knock my socks off. It was firmly in the average and dependable range. The bad: The hostess was highly unprofessional and could use additional training. Ironically, she was training someone else. In summary, not amazing, but all around tasty food with huge portions. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but I'm glad that we have it a try just once. Very safe place to eat with picky eaters.

I've visited Scotty's up on the north side for years and have enjoyed their strong service and great food years. However, today we headed to their downtown Indianapolis location for the first time and found the food and service to be wonderful. Being a vegetarian in a sports bar it's a bit challenging sometimes, but I really love their pretzel appetizer and their black bean burger is one of the best I've ever had. All of that, and it doesn't hurt that kids eat free on certain nights, either. And even with urchins in tow (and really, it's tough sometimes), they make you feel at home. Highly recommended. We'll be back.

On an unusual warm winter eve, I'm talking 65 degree temps, I decided to hit up Scotty's for a much needed wine and some grub. The place was slammed. I mean, you would have thought the place was giving food away for free. In reality, the Indy Pacers were playing. Streets were lined with party goers and the ambiance was that of a college football game. It was wild. Anyway, I was told the wait would be 30 min. It only took 10 and we were seated outside in the shadows of the city skyline and next to a roaring open gas fire pit. Our server was super fast. I was impressed with the amount of people there. They kept up with the crowd and kept my glass full. Pretty impressive. I had a buffalo chix wrap (I forget the name of it) with a side of loaded waffle fries. The wrap was good. Recommendation to all is to order it mild. I can take all kinds of heat. I mean you could put me next to Adam from Man vs. Food and have us eat ghost chilies and I would kick his arse. In all honesty, go with the mild. It's hot. The menu is a nice sides with a huuuuuge selection of starters. Always good to see for a beer place. This is my third time here. I really like it. Good food, drinks, social setting and service wrapped into one makes it..... Wait for it..... SPICY!

Scotty's and I have long long long history going back to my college years where I thought beer was bud light or coors. I couldn't have been more wrong... I will put it out there, I'm allergic to brew and learned the hard way, yet always had a taste for the deliciousness they were serving up. I've been eating here since '03 and bounteously enjoying adult beverages shortly after. I had a small falling out, and Scott went above and beyond to make it right. Personally contacting me, and making sure he got to the bottom of things. I really believe Scotty's appreciates their customers, especially with the VIP program. It could offer a little easier reward and incentive, yet overall great and free. My favorite day is Sunday funday because of $6 pitchers. Their happy hour apps (select menu - taters, fried pickles, etc.) are $5 twice a day. They frequently have specials, and their outdoor fire pit is a great hangout (lovely people + great food x drank = YES!) go in the warmer months around early evening. The service is nice! Kyle at the bar helped me with my order last time I went. He forgot to add my dressing for the side salad, but I think he was distracted by my striking good looks. He was really great, funny, and it didn't bother him at all that I had him going back and forth to the kitchen for extra bells and whistles. The food is rival to most of the businesses downtown, for a supposed to be gluten free girl they have a lot of options. Hopefully this summer will bring a new menu. Date night and family friendly. They can be more giving with the amount of fries that come as a side. Try the Cajun spice on everything. Be prepared to be welcomed, here you feel like this is your bar. Scotty's is a place you'll go to for a lifetime. :) xoxo

Service was terrible. Multiple "hot" girls walking around ignoring you. Everyone seemed to be annoyed that they had to serve customers. I finally asked one if I could put in a food order, and begrudgingly, she did. Great beer selection!!!

  • Scott H.

Every time we have been there since they opened, we've had excellent service. Even when they were in the weeds with a late carry out order one time, the manager gave us a drink to help the wait ... then he discounted the order. Oh and he food is great too!

  • Jenn M.

Came here twice on separate visits to Indy. We quite like the outdoor seating area. The menu is fun and has a lot of variety, and the prices aren't bad. The drink options are great. The customer service is great. I've been impressed with my interactions with all of the people who work here. (And we even came here toward the end of the day after the Brickyard, and the staff were still friendly.) I'm impressed with Scotty's commitment to the environment. Great to support a locally-owned place that tries to have a smaller carbon footprint.

You know, I'm disappointed in all these reviews. Could everyone have a crappy time at the same time? Oh well. I went to scotty's for the first time monday night. I've had thier food before. My friend Stephanie used to work there and she'd bring me discounted food all the time. So I ordered my usual stand by. A cheeseburger with all the usual trimmings (Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickel, barbeque and mayo). I took my first bite. I was pretty much in heaven. Whoever was the chef KNEW how to cook. These burgers are to DIE for! I'm only knocking off one star for price. Holy hell outrageous! But, It's good stuff, and as long as you go every so often. Not all the time, you're stomach, and your wallet, should be satisfied! Keep it up Scotty's!

This is a great place to watch a game and have a good time....not a good place if you want food with any nutritional value. Each booth has its own tv, and great sports bar ambience with tons of TV. But they take normally fried and unhealthy bar food, and take it a few steps further.....both my guest and I walked out feeling gross after eating the healthiest things we could find on the menus. Veggie Quesadilla and Club Sandwich. Pretty sure we had a weeks worht of calories in each of our meals. For future visits, just plan on drinking you calories, you will have more fun, and stay less fat.

I love everything about Scotty's. They have a HUGE menu, a great beer selection, and a welcoming atmosphere. But with flat screen TVs everywhere you turn, don't expect your date to pay attention to you! I would recommend sitting outside (live music on Thursdays) and enjoying the beautiful weather while eating the 7 tidals buffalo dip. It's an appetizer that I order as an entree. I promise you won't regret it. Seriously LOVE this place. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the hit-or-miss service.

Caught the Flyers match here yesterday, great location with plenty of space and a huge beer selection. They typically have some beer special, it was $2.00 domestic bottles and $4 swag drinks. The menu looks great, didn't get a chance to try it but everything looked great coming out.

We left the OTB looking for a little food and a drink or two. Stumbled into Scotty's, but thought we were in a corporate joint. Very little flavor, in the food or the place. Server was barely there. Give me the Irish place across the street.

Scotty's Downtown location is sometimes overcrowded due to downtown events. It can be difficult to get a seat and even if you do get a seat the kitchen takes their sweet time getting the order out. I have had a couple of bad experiences there with getting the wrong order. I caught a colts game early in the season there and figured I would take advantage of their Sunday $5 domestic pitcher deal and was disappointed to learn that the pitchers are $14.50 on colts game days!! I told the waitress she should have told me that and she didn't seem to care. The next couple times I was in there the waitress mentioned that the special is not honored on game day right when she greeted us. So they have made the adjustment. I'm sure this location will get better since it's fairly new. I've been there several times since and they've defiantly gotten better. It's one of my favorite downtown bars. They love the Cubbies and the Boilermakers there so how can you go wrong :-)

Go for happy hour, great special on Wednesday. 6 dollar well pitchers and coors and miller pitchers as well. All other craft beers are 9 dollar pitchers. Only thing we ate were the potato skins, very good.

I like the dill pickle chips and that they have a few craft beer selections. A few of their burgers are ok but... this place's style is not for me. This is the place you go to watch a game if you're the type who has to take a xanax before using the restroom if they do not have screens above the urinals. They have as many TVs as Best Buy. Maybe they should take a stand and tell those that want the canadian curling championship screened concurrently with the colts game that they are simply SOL. I kid, I kid.. but the number of TVs is kind of hilarious.. as is their phone book sized menu. I think we'll settle irreconcilable differences.

Great service and nice atmosphere. Loved the food idea of bringing school lunches back. Square pizza on a plastic tray with apple sauce and potatoes sorted in their little section. Brings back those glorious youthful memories. Even better you can substitute that carton of milk with an ice cold beer. Loved the idea. Although I was dissapointed that I didn't get to meet the lunch lady. Ahhh...the memories. Rock on Scotty's....Rock on.

We went to Scotty's last night to watch basketball. There are TVs EVERYWHERE which is why we picked it. We decided to order some food and had the fried dill chips with horseradish sauce, a dilly burger and a buffalo chicken wrap. Everything was good. I especially enjoyed the dilly burger which had 4 fried dill chips and the horseradish on time. The service was really good except that they kept trying to deliver things to our table that we didn't order. Seriously, this happened probably 15 times over the course of 2 hours. I definitely will go back when it gets warm to sit on their patio. Supposedly they will have seating for 150 people out there. Check it out. Definitely a great place to go watch games, drink beer (they have at least 25 on draft) and eat pretty good bar food.

It's been awhile since I have been in Scotty's. My wife and I went there shortly after it opened and the service was poor and the prices seemed a little high. I would say there are several places downtown that are better.

  • Julie J.

Great location and atmosphere if you're downtown for a Colts or Pacers game...just decent food. I'm not a huge fan of greasy bar-food and that seems to be their specialty. One redeeming quality=good beer/drink selections at pretty decent prices.

I appreciate that Scotty's attempts to have local food on the menu. The wine and martini flights are a great deal if you want to try a few different things. And the fish tacos, although very spicy, are great.

Way to go Scotty for scaling back the menu! I visited in June to see a new, smaller menu. I was cheesily set up like a magazine layout, but still much more concise and manageable as a customer. Kudos. Our waitress was very sweet and said all the right things. The wings were delicious and we were happy upon exit. If this same type of experience can happen two times in a row, I'll change my rating to 5 stars.

we had plans to go somewhere else, but they fell through, so we stopped by scottys. i had heard good things. we were on a family outing with our 2 1/2 year old. we wanted to wach the iu game and get a good meal. we both ate off the low cal meanu ( both were very good). the service was great, they brought our son crayons and a toy. they have tv's all over. the only down side is it is pretty loud.

Very nice establishment/bar/sports bar with tons of seats, TVs, and outdoor seating. Good selection of grub and libations. The happy hour specials are so good. if I am ever back in the area, I will definitely go back.

  • Kristin B.

First, they seem to make an effort to hire GREAT people. Second, the practical: it's clean & spacious even though it's basically a sports bar. They haven't tried to stuff in too many tables or booths. Bathrooms have the same spacious feel. Third, the food. Not the greatest fried pickles I've had. They are served with a horseradish sauce and/or a ranch sauce. I only tried the horseradish & it was okay. The pickle chips just weren't special enough to warrant the caloric load. The black bean burger is really good! Perfectly (thoroughly) cooked. I asked for it on a pretzel bun. The bun had an odd texture, like it might have been frozen and then thawed in a microwave. Burger made up for it, though. The "Black & Bleu Steak Salad" was a hit. Good beans & rice. Good waffle fries. I think it's the service that makes this place, combined with a comfortable space... Looking forward to going back - they've earned my business.

Last Friday was my first time at Scotty's brewhouse downtown. I went with a friend who invited me out to see the purdue basketball game. It was super buisy they had a big tent outside with a bonfire very fun experience. Even though the place was slammed we still managed to get seats at the bar and the service was still great!! drinks came quickly! the menu looked pretty good they have veg options and gluten free options.

One of my family's favorite hangouts. Beyond kid-friendly, excellent menu and staff, and amazing beer selection. I've made a point of trying something different on every visit and am rarely disappointed. Keep up the good work, Scotty!

  • Howie H.

After two visits to Scotty's Downtown during the past month I was torn as to the rating to give...my first visit- a Friday night- was a wonderful experience- sitting at the bar being served by a very friendly and competent bar staff and the food (Shewman Special) was excellent. This was a four star visit. My second visit, however, was worthy of only one or two stars. The Shewman was overcooked this time and just not as tasty as my first encounter with it. The service was even worse. Our table suffered a waiter who was both incompetent and apathetic. He appeared to have no knowledge of the menu and was utterly perplexed when it came to delivering food correctly. He disappeared during the meal (a refill would have been nice as the burger possesses jalapenos) and the whole payment portion of the program was a fiasco as it took forever for him to figure all of this out. If, on a future visit, I happen to draw this server once again-- I will either leave or demand a different individual. Overall I want to give it 2.5 stars but that is not an option.

  • Indy W.

Very nice layout: sleek outdoor seating, comfie booths--some with small flat screen t.v.s--, people-watching window tables, and a lounge area featuring ("Drink Me!") over-sized furniture. The restrooms are done in cinnamon red brick, smell like Big Red chewing gum, and offer Dyson hand dryers that do the job in seconds flat. The server did a fine job throughout visit by promptly returning with a fresh mixed drink after a variation of the order was first sent out, allowing adequate time for meal selection (the menu is huge!), and following detailed instruction without quibble. The drinks were well made and the food tasty (though nothing to rave about). Thumbs up.

On a recent weekend trip to Indy, my friends and I stopped in for drinks and food. This place is great. If you like a nice selection of craft beer on tap and a huge menu, this is the place to go. TV's all over the place inside, plus an outdoor patio with a firepit in the area, for those cooler nights. We went there both day during our stay, so I'm sold on this place. And if you're lucky enough to get Candace as your waitress, then you are set because she's the best. If I'm ever in Indy again, I'll be sure to head back.

I'm updating this based on my most recent trip and interactions with Scotty's staff. I hesitate to jump up two 4 stars from 2 based on a single visit, but effort can go a long way. Hopefully future visits will keep it up there. The wife and I decided to go give Scotty's another try. The management staff really seems to take our opinions seriously which is nice. We made the voyage through the arctic terrain to arrive at a pretty desolate restaurant. The service better be good and attentive we thought, since the place was pretty dead. It was good and stayed good even after business started to pickup a bit later. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Scott, who was helpful and fun throughout the evening. I was impressed by his knowledge of the beers which had been a problem on previous visits when the bartender couldn't answer my simple beer related questions. I can't remember the other bartender's name but he was also rockin' it. Score one for Scotty's on their bar staff and service. Score up another for the awesome pitcher special they had going on ($9 for the good stuff! for the hop lovers - try the Alpha King or Founder's IPA). While I still feel that the food prices are a bit high on some items, my portion size was much better this time than past visits. I had the atomic mo'fo burger (subbed out cheese type with no problem) which is still burning up my stomach. It was juicy and damn good. Exactly what I was craving. I recommend any pairing of their mo'fo sauce and bleu cheese. I also received what I feel was an appropriate amount of waffle fries when in the past I felt that staff must've been nibbling on my fries on the way to the table. The wife had to build her own burger which turned out to be fairly pricey when all she really wanted to do was switch the patty from what i ordered to a bison patty. In my opinion she should be able to do that (with an up-charge of course) without having to "build her own" which adds up quick. But, whatever, not a big deal, just a thought. This visit was highly enjoyable. Plenty of TV's showing the games and people going crazy on the news. I'm a bit nervous to try a lunch visit again, but I can safely recommend a visit if you sit at the bar on a weeknight. I'm sure I'll do this again soon as I am stoked on the steps toward improvements and customer satisfaction that I've experienced.

In general, Scotty's could be doing a lot better. I like the idea of a local "chain" that promotes local ingredients and beer, but that's about where it ends for me. The menu has your choice of typical bar foods, nothing super special. My husband and I stopped in about 2 hrs before a Pacer's game. We knew it would be busy so we sat at the bar. No biggie. 30 minutes after ordering food, we asked for the server to check on it. It was obvious that it had been sitting for a while. Everything was cold... burger, fries, tacos.... I sprung the extra $2 to get my waffle fries "loaded" and it seemed like there were less fries than the typical portion size, and even less "loading." In the future, I'll probably just go to an actual bar to get bar food.

Nice place, very roomy and was not too crowded when we were there. They have plenty of food to choose from and quite a variety. There are several beers to choose from as well, including there own micro stock. Very friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere.

This location lacks good customer service. During the hustle and bustle of the NCAA Final Four festivities I thought this place did THE WORST out of all the bars and restaurants visited the entire weekend. Management seemed inept and everyone else I encountered seemed to not care about the visitors experience. I still frequent other Scotty's locations often. I hope I never have to return to this one.

My standard Scottys is the West Lafayette branch, and I thought it would be worth while to try the Indianapolis one during a trip down. While the experience certainly wasn't bad, it left much to be desired. I ordered a fairly standard farm raised beef burger. While the taste was certainly on point with what I expect from other Scottys, it felt as if they size of the burger was tinier. The side of fries was certainly delicious, but a bit cold. The service was what really dinged stars, however. Our server was attentive during the beginning of the meal, but then disappeared for 15-20 minutes. I was prepared to order dessert until he never appeared to take my order. Overall I will probably go back, but with more tepid expectations.

Update from last review. I was invited back after stating I would never return. The managers were very nice apologetic for me last couple ventures to Scottys. Food was hot and tasty, mood was nice, and our server Dave was great.

    (5)
  • Mark G.

After my review the manager sent me an email apologizing for the cold food. Pretty nice. So, we went back and I am increasing my rating by one star. The food came out hotter. Wife loved the tots. I got a burger. It was decent. Little disappointed in the cheese. The description said cheese contained within two patties but mine seemed to be missing but still tasted good. It has a great atmosphere and friendly wait staff.

Wow. Prior to my Yelping days I had been to Scotty's and really dug it. No particular reason for not returning sooner other than my aversion for paying for parking in downtown Indy. Last night, though, we decided a late supper was in order. It was quiet for downtown so we decided to go back there for the first time in almost five years. It won't be that long again. First, you cannot go wrong with $5 apps after 9:00 on weeknights. I could have made a meal from the pulled pork nachos - the sauce was awesome, the potato slices just right and fresh jalapeños cleared the junk right out of my head. That said, we did not do the $5 deal because we did the $30 for a full, very generously portioned app, two entrees and dessert. I got the low cal cluck - quite good as a leftover today for lunch. Dessert was a really light fluffy peanut butter pie. So many of them are too rich for me, but this was just right. A word about my husband - I could tell him we won the lottery and his response would be a variation of "that's nice, dear.". He is like that about most places we go. He LOVED his burger with blue cheese and bacon. He LOVED the pie. Five stars for bringing enthusiasm to him!

  • John K.

I was given a $10 happy meal discount, trying to get me to try Scotty's again. Sure, I'll go TO ANY OTHER LOCATION. I don't think the downtown location trains their people enough to provide good service... just my opinion.

  • Peter J.

Alright vibe but what stands out for me is the signature burger with peanut butter. If you have ever tried this you would agree that it's the best odd pairing ever

Awesome spot for beer and bar food. Kinda pricey for the quality of food; but the service makes up for it. If you are into craft beer and don't mind paying a higher price this is definitely the place for you.

Since I am visiting Indianapolis for the week, I decided to try some local fare and came across Scotty's Brewhouse. Being completely honest, I wasn't expecting too much past typical bar food, but I was pleasantly surprised! First off, our waitress (Brooklyn) was fantastic! She was bubbly, polite, and very accommodating to our large group of 10. The menu is huge...almost too big, there were so many delicious looking items I found it hard to decide. I went with a burger since their innovative burger menu was quite extensive. I made it up as I went along to include cheddar cheese, sautéed mushrooms, onion strings and more. It was nothing short of AMAZEBALLS! The meat was cooked perfectly with great flavor and the endless toppings that are available let you get creative with it! For the side, I went with the Mac N cheese (duh, no brainer). It was creamy, delicious, and I'm still thinking about it today... Additionally, Scotty's had a huge drink menu which included craft cocktails, local micro brews, and much much more! If I return to Indy, I will definitely be back. All in all, Scotty's Brewhouse is a great restaurant and a great experience!

I'm sorry. I'm sorry I just can't seem to fall in love with Scotty's. Maybe it's because I'm more of a small pub kinda girl than a sports bar regular. Maybe it's because I'm the doofus that orders a bowl of soup at a burger joint because I love soup that damn much. (don't get me wrong - I'm a burger fan too and I love the idea of having it smothered with peanut butter). I should have started off with the positives - - like their cool outdoor space with live music, lounge couches and warm lighting (oh, and an awesome downtown backdrop). Drink deals - I can't put my finger on if it was $2 or $3 pint night - but I do remember they had my Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale and that was all I needed to know. I also know they have some great deals for families/kids eat free days and host several charity-oriented events/promos throughout the year. This particular location is also great for large groups.

A group of friends and I ate at Scotty's before a Fever game, on a Saturday night. The food is decent, the service is slow, and everything is priced just a tad too high (but they get away with it because it's downtown Indy). I had the twisted pretzel burger, which was fine, and 2 amaretto sours which were not worth the $7 each. The table had the buffalo chicken dip (good) and fried pickles (meh). Overall, if you're looking for a decent place to grab a bite to eat and a drink or two, Scotty's fits the bill. A comfortable environment and some tasty food and most everyone should be fairly happy.

  • Bobby N.

The waitress opened her greeting by commenting how "cool & awesome" my prosthetic arm was. I've had it my whole life so I'm not overly sensitive, but a disability is not something any server should point out no matter how well intentioned the comment. Then my beer is delivered after I finish my meal. The manager comp'd our meal after I talked with him. Stupid, plain & simple.

I love The Brewhouse especially for a night out with my husband or girlfriends. I have had wings before, however, these wings are so amazing!!!!!!!! I love the mustard mo fo wings and the waffle fries are seasoned to perfection. I also love the VIP member program which allows you to accumulate points and get discounts. They are also reasonably priced which is even better. The Brewhouse is ALWAYS my "go to" because it is down the street and of course it is also a way to eat local. It always get two thumbs up!!!!

We are new to the area and are exploring the food and beer scene, which so far appears to be awesome here in Indy. I rode my bike past Scotty's downtown location and saw their awesome outside beer garden +cornhole "court" and determined to return (which I did several hours later). Beer is fairly well priced, especially if you come at off-peak times where they have excellent specials. They can fill growlers with local beers, a huge plus. They had a new beer from Sun King called Sir Nigel that was EXCELLENT. They also served up some incredibly spicy wings, of which we were big fans ("mo'fo hot"). The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is because the deep fried pickles were sub-par and one of the 3-4 servers/bartenders with whom we interacted wasn't very attentive or friendly (it was packed, so she was probably just stressed). Still, those were small prices to pay for a great place to guzzle craft beers in a beautiful location. We will be back!

I honestly have loved Scotty's since I lived in Bloomington, IN. The food is good and they have lots of options. This particular location gets 1 star because on the last several visits service has been absolutely upsetting. My most recent experience - waitress brought drinks, took order. 45 minutes later no food. Food of course arrived cold after complaining to manager and no waitress for another 10 mins. In the meantime we requested hot fries at least. Time prior - we waited for 1 hour and 20 minutes but at least received continual apologies from waitress. Another time, just completely ignored by waitress. Another time I was with someone else and had two checks and I somehow got charged for the whole table. I am never returning to eat in the restaurant. Carry out maybe. Eat in. Never. Never.

Popped in for a quick lunch while passing through Indianapolis. It was on Halloween and the staff REALLY got into their costumes which was fun. The staff was incredibly friendly, we were seated quickly and the manager checked in on us more than once. The Mexican fiesta salad (lettuce, cheddar cheese, tortilla strips, red onions, tomatoes, black beans, corn, cilantro, grilled chicken, salsa and jalapeño ranch) was fresh, healthy and tasty. They also have great lunch specials!

This will be short. We went in for lunch, were seated at the bar. I waited 13 minutes and not a single employee acknowledge that we were seated there. I went to the host stand and asked to see the manager. I waited another five minutes to get a manager up front to speak to a disgruntled customer. When he did show up, I got a lackluster apology and two $5 coupons. $10 would even buy me a meal at Scottys! Like I would ever go back though to try it. Long story short? They suck.

Been here twice, the first time was awesome. Second was disappointing. 1st time we got bison burgers and they were heavenly. The service was awesome and the beer selection was excellent! 2nd time we went at 9pm for $5 appetizers and $2.50 beers, I guess our server didn't like that because he left our food in the kitchen until it was cold then disappeared for almost 20 minutes. I'm assuming it is normally like our first visit.

Pro's: -It's downtown! -Tons of TV's EVERYWHERE. Even in the bathroom stalls (for real). -Food is above average for a bar - there's an extensive menu with low-cal and gluten free options. -Prices are decent for being right downtown. Con's: -No free parking, but lots of paid spots and street parking nearby -Don't sit by the door - even though it's revolving, it's COLD in the winter. Overall, I thought this was a great spot for watching a game or getting together with friends, and the food was great compared to over run of the mill sports bars that only have fried food or chicken wings.

Service sucks, this place probably won't be around long. I really haven't been to a place that is oblivious to the customer. Scotty the owner may want to think of changing the name of the Restaurant, I doubt he want to represent this service debacle,

Oh boy, the menu has undergone a redesign since I've last been here. I spotted a sriracha style burger on the BYOB (Build Your Own Burger), so I didn't need to explore the menu any further after that. The Bivens Sriracha burger consists of pepper jack, jalapeños, and sriracha honey. Noteworthy: Raw jalapeño slices!! Grilled jalapeños would have been better, because these were a bit overpowering. Overall, it was a-OK. I opted for the quarter pound which was the right lunch portion, but it really needed a thinner bun. Too much bread for a quarter pounder. Looking back at the menu online, scottysbrewhouse.com/men… , I see I completely overlooked the different bun options under the Freebies section. Whoops! I should have read through all the different options more closely. The sriracha honey sauce was pretty mild, so unless you can't handle any level of spiciness this is a safe bet (I'd compare this to this being on opposite spectrum of the mo' fo' hot sauce). The wedge fries served warm and lightly coated in seasoned bread crumbs (I think) were spot on. I ate them all. The server was attentive for our group of five. She came by regularly to check on us for drink refills and got us out the door in a timely manner. Did the Bivens Sriracha wow me? Sadly, no. Is Scotty's my first place to eat out? No. Is it a solid lunch option for a group seeking straight forward American food with different tastes? Yes.

I absolutely love Scotty's! When I moved to Atlanta, every time I would come back to visit it was a necessity to eat at Scotty's. Everything on the menu is great. My fave is the Mo Fo Buffalo wrap, but watch out because it's spicy! Gotta have some fabulous loaded fries. These fries are drowned in cheese, sour cream AND BACON!! Yes you heard right, bacon. When I just happen to be downtown and in too much of a rush to sit down and eat, I grab their brown bag special: burger and fries for 6 bucks. That's better than going to Mickey Ds or some nasty fast food place. I want to go now just writing this review!

Great hang with a lot of menu options. They have outdoor seating with a fireplace which is nice in the summer. I got the bbq wrap and it was delicious. Relatively good service and a good beer selection.

Best wings in town! Bdubs: good sauces, small wings. Wings Etc: small wings, average sauces. Hooters: big wings, poorly cooked, average sauces. Kilroys: average size wings, drowned in sauce (not my thing). Scotty's wings are big and meaty. Sriracha honey and garlic teriyaki are flame (more than delicious). The sauce is also cooked on the wings so the skin is still crispy and flavorful not drowned in sauce and soggy. They also have good specials on food and drinks everyday of the week. My favorites are the unlimited wings on Mondays and 75¢ Wednesday. They also have $7 pitchers of imports and microbrews on Wednesday which make for a pretty stellar deal. Only drawback is the service is inconsistent. I've had great and I've had poor but overall still a good experience.

I wanted to like Scotty's. Really, I did. I liked it when it first opened because they were focused on reasonably priced food and great service. The most recent times I went there, the service has considerably depleted to "just get it over with" and non-existent and the food's quality has taken a huge fall to its edible death. Loved going here for half-priced food, but I went a few months ago, and they doubled the price to where you're paying what it used to cost full price. Really disappointing to pay more for less quality. Please work on your game face and the kitchen game! Remember your target group, and don't worsen for anything! Once I hear better reviews, I might give them another try.

I had the peanut butter jalapeño burger with sweet potato fries and I fell in love with it. I thought I wouldn't like it here because I don't like burgers, but this was amazing good, weird combination I know. But I'm a wild card when it comes to trying new things and I said what the heck let's see what comes of this. The sweet potato fries came with a side of some sweet honey type of dipping sauce which only added to the awesomeness of the fries, because the fries alone were delicious but this definitely gave it a lift. Service wasn't as good as I would have expected it to be, we arrived about 40 mins before closing per the waitress, but the door sign said it closed later. We over heard our waitress use profanity as she walked away from our table complaining of some other customers to another waitress. Thankfully our children didn't hear it, we enrolled in the Scotty's kids club as this allows up to 2 kids to eat free per adult entree purchased on Sundays. We had three kids and purchased 2 adult entrees when we asked the waitress to confirm all three of our kids were free before she brought our check, she rolled her eyes and had to go ASK someone else which took forever. Came back and with a snappy attitude said yes they would be free. I felt offended to be treated in such way because we took advantage of the kids eat free on Sundays deal. Almost as if it was coming out of the employees pocket.

We love Scotty's! I have been going here since undergrad at IU. It's the perfect place to go for good food, drinks, and to catch a game. The loaded waffle fries are amazing!! They are known for their dill chips as well. They offer great drink specials and they always have a deal going on. The staff has always been friendly and it's a good place for a big group to get together. They can accommodate almost any size group

For context I'll mention that I was there on a busy Saturday night (01/17/15) and I was there with a party of 10. The service was slow and some of the orders were wrong (both drink and food). The manager on duty was great though and helpful. I have been previously been there was a party of 4 and the service was better. The food was not sensational but it was fine. It is a good place to watch a game or just enjoy the pub grub.

This is a great place to watch a game on TV and order food and a beer. The food is great, the bison burger is my favorite. The drinks are good too. I am never disappointed coming here and it's a regular place I go to.

Definitely a sports bar. They have a TV in every angle on every different sport. Tried their Three Wise Men beer. The Golden Zoe IPA is good. Not too hoppy. Nice crisp flavor. Their porter had a bit too much coffee than I would like. It did not pair well with the food and so I did not finish it. The buffalo wings were adequate at best. I ordered the mild and they were not spicy to me. The food did come out quickly. The ambiance is good and the servers were great. In all place is good to watch a game, get a beer and typical sports bar grub.

If you want to watch a game, eat decent food, and drink good brew, then yes, this is a great place. The menu is a tad confusing and basically a book with chapters. I actually think items are listed twice in a few different sections. My southwest black bean burger was really good. Spicy and filling. I really enjoyed it. Overall, I'd definitely go here above any regular chain restaurant.

Awesome tater tots! Crispy & light. Big brews. Lotta options for beers. Huge patio. Bags on the patio. Great place.

We walked 15 minutes from our hotel after we called and asked if a certain baseball game would be on there. We arrived and waited for a table after re-verifying that the game would be on. We were seated and were told the game would be put on one of the tv's near us. We ordered and appetizers and drinks arrived. Still no game. We were then told they didn't get that channel. I asked to speak to the manager (this would have been a great opportunity to apologize and offer to cover apps and drinks or an entree. Free dessert?) He looked at us like a deer in headlights despite strong hints. We left. Instead of covering our apps and drinks, they sat on the table untouched and unpaid for. Doesn't make any sense.

Great sports bar! I was in town for the final four. My son wanted to grab some wings so we looked up the best wings in Indianapolis. This place came up in the top two and we were nearby. Have to say it lived up to the expectations. Most of all it is just a great sports bar. TVs everywhere. Private rooms. A beer tower for your table. Have to hit that when I'm in town with friends instead of kids. We got some loaded tater tot and they were great. The mo' go' mustard wings were, to my surprise, great.

I want to like Scotty's, I really do. But I just can't. I've been a few times and have just not had the best experience any of those times. I've also ordered delivery a few times and have had an even worst experience. For example today I ordered a sandwich specifically asking for no onions because I have a mild allergy. When it arrived the receipt did indeed say no onion, but it had 4 onion slices on it. It was also supposed to have ranch on it and it was literally a 1 tsp squirt of ranch. On top of that it wasn't even good! The macaroni and cheese was hard and filmy and the chips were stale and soft. The previous two times I've ordered delivery I've had equally terrible food, but I thought hey third time's the charm right? Guess not. I won't be visiting Scotty's again.

The food was pretty much your average, chain, bar quality stuff. The menu is a bit daunting as there are considerable choices. I did the philly style with a bison burger. It was pretty tasty but not good enough for me to want to eat here regularly.

We had a great time here! Our burger was unusual but delicious, as was the Three Wisemen beer selection! What really add the evening was our waitress-in-training Christina. She waited on our every need and joined in our cheering our (out or state and conference) team on!

I have been eating here now for 3 years for lunch. For 3 years Scotty's has yet to understand that people have a hour lunch break. While the food isn't bad it's not great. If it was not for the rewards program, discounts, , my bartender, and my free soda mug I wouldn't be frequenting this place on a regular basis

Scottys is a typical sports bar with a much better menu. The burgers are perfect size (try it Sherwam style) with peanut butter and fresh jalapeños (it's actually fantastic). The buffalo calamari was pretty good too. With drink specials and plenty of sports on, this is a very good place to stop in and grab some grub.

The waitress, Colleen, was awesome! She was super speedy but still friendly & accommodating! If every restaurant had a Colleen, the world would be a better place. And the food? It was delicious also, I love the "build your own chicken/beef" options. The beer selection is great too. The best part, we were in Indy for Gen Con & there were posters for nerd stuff everywhere!!

Stopped by here for some beverages on Saturday night. The wait for a table was 20 minutes but there was plenty of open seating at the bar so we got right in. The staff was nice and atentive to our beverage needs. For as open as it is in there I would think it would be louder but surprisingly they keep the TV sound off and only play music which is nice. We did not eat and again only had a few beers. They do price the beers right. Towards the end of the night when it slowed down the staff looked beyond bored like they wanted to leave.

Pros: good drink specials, yummy food Cons: parking downtown can always be a hassle I frequented the Scotty's at Purdue, so when it came to choosing a place downtown for happy hour this place seemed like a good choice. Honestly, I came here for $7 domestic pitchers on Wednesdays. Normall priced around $15, this was an awesome deal. We also go there early enough for $5 apps (4-6pm I think). So two pitchers and and app only set us back around $20. A good deal in my book! This is the kind of place you want to go when they're having specials. Their food is always great, but it's pretty comparable to many other brewhouses. They have a great selection of draught beers, especially tons of local brews. All in all: I'd come back for the $7 pitchers Wednesday nights!

A friend and I just finished taking one of those awful standardized tests and needed sustenance. I suggested Scotty's after a few other suggestions were shot down, and off we went! Parking was a breeze, surprisingly. We walked in and were taken all the way to what seemed like the very back corner. The hostess tried to seat us at one of those bar tables - but I was like...no give us a booth (I hate those chairs. I really hate those chairs. I feel like I'm 2 and in a high chair...oh wait those are adult high chairs. Blech.). They weren't busy when we walked in, so it wasn't a big deal even though she may have rolled her eyes at me, sighed, and then called the 'command center' to see if it was ok if we had a booth. Whatever. They have changed their menu from when I was there last (December 2013), and it's enormous (literally). When I say enormous literally, the size is of a record sleeve, like those records you see in museums (or at home, collecting dust from decades of sitting there, unwanted and unused). Anyways, they changed their menu and managed to take my good friend's favorite "go-to" meal: the confused buffalo. For the life of me, all I saw was 2 pieces of sourdough with a lot of stuff inside it. But apparently many patrons were disappointed that it disappeared, and our waitress initially told us that my friend would have to pay $15-17 according to their new menu to get the same. This was not acceptable for a burger, so my friend chose a substitute. Our server (Stephanie) was great. She really was - funny, friendly, engaging, attentive, etc. - everything you want. She also pulled out a bingo card because each server wants to get a bingo by the end of the night - some good prizes await them, I guess. Anyways, Lobster Bisque was on the card, and I ordered some. Anyways, I told her that I loved the bingo idea and wanted to talk more to the manager about it. So Cory came over, I invited him to sit with us, and we talked about business and such. It was fun. I hope I didn't scare anyone. I can be a bit...forward. Anyways, I asked him, "Where is the confused buffalo?" And he smiled and said that we could order it still. What?! So I told him to call Stephanie and tell her to change the order, which he got up to do. He came back eventually (I sincerely thought we had scared him off by then), and we talked some more shop. So enough about the experience, let's talk about the food and atmosphere. The food was 4/5. The lobster bisque was a little disappointing because it had a lot of color and looked interesting, but the flavor aspect wasn't there. Give me some lobster texture, or at least add in some shrimp. It was also the thinnest lobster bisque I've had. I wouldn't order it again, but it was just ok. The chicken wings were delicious. I ordered 5, which is plenty for me. I had both sauces put on the side, but next time I'm just going to have them toss the wings in the sauce. It's not the same when you just pour the sauce on the wings. The wings are of considerable size, and probably some of the larger wings you can find in the Indianapolis area (literally, at least twice the size of a certain chicken wing chain down the street). I definitely would recommend the chicken wings. The Confused Buffalo also was a hit. My friend ordered a 24 oz Porter (which he enjoyed a lot), and I ordered a 16 oz root beer (yum). This is a wonderful place to meet friends. It can be loud if it's a busy time, but it's a fun place and pretty good food with big portions. Scotty's is a great place to suggest if you have a group of hungry friends and you're downtown.

Typically I love going in here on lunch, or also for a snack and blow off a little steam. The decor is pretty sweet for what it is; typically the food is par or better. The Shewman Special is a unique burger that is a personal favorite. I've ordered this probably half of the times that I've had food. The appetizers are certainly not a dollar menu, but are typically what I would consider good in quality. Not gouging or anything. I've had some "questionable" service we will say... As a long time visitor here, I seem to feel like the service was much better in the past. I have a little bit bitter of a taste in my mouth from a lunch experience many months ago (part of why I really haven't been much anymore...). I ordered the endless soup lunch special. I ordered my third soup bowl after having been seated for somewhere around 25-30 minutes. Many minutes go by, I do not have my soup. I asked another server (ours seemed to temporarily be MIA). They said they would check. Our server reemerged, apologized, and offered a Togo soup (as our table had requested our bill, some needing to go back to work). I explained that it really wasnt needed, I was just going to pick away at it before going back to work. So they talk me into taking it anyway. Another server that was roped in came back and told me he was not aloud to give carryout soup since it was the special. Must say, was in a bit of a condescending tone too. You offered it, I said no, you talked me into it, then chastise me as though I'm trying to pull a fast one. All I did was ask for a refill 20 minutes prior during my lunch hour. I've been back a few times, but I'm still a little reluctant to resurface here too often.

We went here before the Colts game on Sunday. Great extremely loud live music. Unfortunately while they were open early enough to go in at 10 am there was no breakfast type food. Had good "tachos (sp)" but they should have a "pick what you want nachos" instead of 4-5 different set nachos choices. Decent margarita, and good Bloody Mary's. We had a great waiter, but some of the waitresses seemed rude when walking by.

Want to be close enough to smell the action without being in the Fieldhouse? This is the spot for you! Having the Eastern Conference finals going on just around the corner had a spillover effect of energy and traffic. This is a great place to watch the game and eat some decent chow, have a beer or a dessert. Lots of outdoor seating too--though for the sportsters, the tv's are not outside, fyi. Great place to go for people watching and for being part of the crowd. Great energy to the place. Love the staff!

Terrible service at the bar. Took 15 minutes just for a drink...ordered the combo meal with appetizer and meal...appetizer and meal came out together 45 min later...to top it off it was cold...sent my low-cal cluck chicken sandwich back cause it was ice cold...to get another one 20 minutes later that was ice cold!!! Can't believe this place...didn't offer to give us anything on the house or discounted due to poor service! Only thing to take away is Moscow mule was amazing...that's why it only got one star!

Yum yum. Enjoying myself a bloody Mary and it's oh so spicy. The burger and fries were out of this world. Last night I enjoyed the 3wm grilled cheese. Sinful but amazing. This is the perfect place to enjoy a game, happy hour outside by the fire or at the bar.

I have loved Scotty's since I was a grad student at Ball State and would go to their original location in Muncie. For me, Scotty's is a staple for a good meal or a few drinks with friends. They have a wide variety of food and drink options and the atmosphere is really relaxed. When the weather is nice, they have an amazing patio that looks out onto a great view of the city. Some of my favs here include: Waffle Fries with Nacho Cheese Sauce, MoFo Chicken Wrap (but with mild sauce - I'm warning you that the MoFo sauce has brought manly men to tears, literally), and their Peanut Butter Pie is awesome!

The pretty nice and unique bar food options. I got a grilled cheese with cheese, cream cheese, bacon, and jalapenos. They also have regular drink specials. I got a margarita for $4 on Saturday. They have outdoor seating available. The service was ok not spectacular. I wouldn't want to go to this place a lot because the food is pretty heavy.

Ok, I was way more drunk than I meant to be by the time I got here so my memory of the place isn't the best. What I do remember is that the outside was lovely and the food was good. The best part was the staff. The waitress was incredibly nice and the owner even came out for awhile. He was fantastic and a blast. A good staff can really sell me on a place. I'll definitely be back during future GenCons and maybe during my other random Indy trips.

Great gluten free selection on the menu. sitting at the bar can be a bit frustrating as they don't have assigned portions if the bar to wait on. Lots of seating available. Inside and outside. Large patio with fire-pit to sit next to with friends and cocktails!

This Scotty's is hit or miss, and I blame it all on the managers: they need to train their staff (host, servers, and cooks) better. For instance, I have ordered the Lucy and it came out like a burnt piece of charcoal. Other times it came out juicy and medium. Some of the servers and bartenders act like they hate their jobs. The VIP program is a mess too -- the bartenders shouldn't have to track down a manager (who always seems to be hiding) to make an adjustment. The food is a tad expensive too, but it's very convenient to my boyfriend's condo, so I don't mind. That being said, today was the way Scotty's should be (and is on 96th). My server, India, was prompt and very friendly. My Lucy burger was prepared perfectly, and India gave me what I needed without hovering. She is a veteran server, and I could tell. (Unfortunately the have had done turnover with staff, which you can tell.) I will continue to eat there, but the management needs to step up!

Fried pickles and dips are yum! Ask for additional honey mustard if you want more mild than hot. Fish tacos have big and tasty chunks of tilapia with cole slaw, though the tortillas were crunchy on top as though they'd say under a heat lamp too long. Fruit salad as side was good with lots of apple, grapes and pineapple. No tasteless honeydew! While I really like the atmosphere here, I find Scotty's to be pricier than similar lunch spots.

Not enough staff. Long wait for service food and check. Food average. Better places to eat around the area. Managers ignorant and don't offer compensation for poor service and frustrated customers. Just apologized.

Great martyr double IPA. Yes they serve alcohol on Sunday. Food is just okay. Wasn't too happy with my service though and the bill was suspect (not noticing until the next morning). Think my server mr. Peyton manning took advantage of the fact I was a bit tipsy. But... My fault for not double checking the bill. Worth going just to watch a game and drink beer... I'd never go back though :)

Highly recommended for "played with" burgers. However, Nick, our server was textbook perfect and the best thing about the place. It is a sports bar so you have TV's everywhere, lots of noise and the food is geared much to that of the mentality of tailgating...Lots of the after work crowd releasing the stress of the day...Can't imagine what it's like with major sporting events on the tubes. The burger was good but I'm a purist that prefers the flavor of the meat to that of a ton of options. The bun and meat were fresh and tasty. The sides were disappointing. I'd read that the tater tots were great but they were frozen just like you buy at the grocery store. We saw everyone getting the waffle fries and Nick said they were a big seller...they were frozen, too...brown on the outside; mushy on the inside. We would go back but only because Nick made it a great experience.

Delicious lunch! The beer was excellent and the burger was worth the drive downtown. I had the shewman special with jalapeños and peanut butter. I tried both of their specialty IPAs and found them to be awesome. The setting was very comfortable and welcoming but also exciting and fun. Our waiter was very polite and fast. They have a big open gas fire pit in front that i look forward to sitting at this summer with a rich heavy IPA. Best restaurant I've found in Indiana so far.

Up until yesterday (12/4/13) around 1:30 my wife and I were regulars. We went almost every Sunday. From the start I always thought the service was a little off. For one, I've never once seen the same server, not once. Is the place really that hard to work for? Also other than a handful of times the servers seem stressed out and more focused on speed than service. But that's nothing compared to the cold disdain the greeter girls at the door display. I can't ever remember one smiling, they never look up from their giant seating chart and when I leave they give me the obligatory "thanks for coming" but it sounds like they're pulling teeth to get it out. All of this I can ignore. I'm not there to be pampered i'm there to eat the absolutely b*tching hot wings. But the icing on awful service cake came on Sunday. My wife and I ordered our food and a milkshake for lunch. Normally I go for the DIPA (the only 'good' beer on the menu, but I regress that's not what I'm here for) but I had a small hangover and it was 1:30 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. The server took the order over to the bar and audibly began complaining to the bar tender about it. He said with no hint of joking 'this is Scotty's brewhouse not shake house.' (My inner reply: Coulda fooled me with the non-3wisemen tap list, seems more like Scotty's major-domestic-house)The bartender replied to the server "they can just go down the street to steak and shake if they want a shake." They continued their back and forth within clear ear shot for a few more lines while the bartender made the shake. I've been a server in a high traffic eatery. It's hard, I know, but it's your job. Show some respect. Or complain in the back room. That's what I did.

I ordered a burger. It was super basic. If I wanted to settle I would have gone to Applebee's and paid way less. The only upside to going to Scotty's is their patio. It's in my opinion one of the best in the city. The only reason for their 3 stars is based off this.

Amazing. It was the first place that we came across that would serve my 18 year old sister during lunch hours. We almost came back the next day. Our server was kind and helpful. She gave us plenty of time to read the book that is their menu, but still came to check up on us from time to time. There were so many options! We get our food, and it was wonderful. Brews and shakes alike were delicious and satisfying. The food was in the perfect portion to leave a normal person stuffed. Each entree has the option of 7 standard sides. Out of my experience with the other establishments in Indiana, this is definitely a must-go.

The food here continues to be a disappointment. I have tried the food here a few times hoping it was just what I ordered. It is everything. I have yet to be impressed. The bright spot was cheap margaritas. Service was slow too.

Had a great experience at Scotty's tonight. Our group ate our way into multiple areas of the expansive menu, and no one was disappointed. Same holds true with our drinks. From beers to bourbon to mixed drinks, everything was great. Add to that the great service we received and it is easy to see how Scotty's is an Indy "go to" place.

Decor: Large sit in dining/bar restaurant great for medium to large groups. Sports and plasma screens around most seating areas. Ambience was standard for happy hour places. Food: Tried the build your own bison burger with swiss and mushrooms. It was great in addition to the sweet potato, waffle and regular fries, buffalo wings. Tried the chocolate and carrot cake, they were average but I suspect I was quite full after the burger fries and drinks. They have a wide array of beers (ale/lager/drafts) and wines to boot. Beers are from the 3 wise men brewery with daily specials. Service: Service was decent, multiple waiters running around to try to please. They were responsive. For the heavy times, food arrival can be slow (up to 20mins). I think this place is decent for happy hour and large groups. Food was decent. I can see myself recommending this place or putting it on a list to go back to.

This is just an ok join to grab that occasional burger or appetizer with friends after a game or on a nice evening. Their beer list is not as great as it used to be, but still impressive. I get really overwhelmed looking at their novel called a menu. Like have these guys never watched Bar Rescue or Restaurant Impossible??? Large menus are exasperating. Maybe that's why I stick with appetizers here because it's the first page. That I can handle. I do enjoy the atmosphere on a nice evening with their enormous patio area complete with cushions and a fire for those slightly chilling evenings. The place is great for a sports bar. They have tvs literally everywhere possible....including bathrooms. So I see why it does the business considering all the sporting events Indy hosts. It's definitely a place for the bros to hang but not always my cup of tea. I only come here after hours when appetizers are half-priced!!!

  • Megan O.

I've been here before with friends at night and enjoyed the beers, but I didn't have a great lunch experience today. Even though it wasn't that crowded, it took a long time for a server to come to our table and bring us drinks. She also messed up my order by giving me a full buffalo salad instead of the Lunch Menu salad. She only charged me for a half salad, but she still charged me for my drink, even though a drink is included in the lunch menu. Knowing how the lunch menu works should be a basic thing. Food itself was okay, and the outside deck is great, but I think the servers could use more training. You go here with friends for the deck and good booths. Food is the average American variations of burgers, buffalo chicken, and cheese.

I really like Scotty's Brewhouse. I love the creative bar food it's not too crazily done though. I hate it when the food is too avant garde and it just doesn't feel right anymore. I guess the only thing I can really say is to make sure you are sure of which drink you are ordering. I thought I was ordering a Bloody Mary with a pickle garnish and I was brought a bloody mary with an olive garnish. I just hate olives so I did not eat them. However the bloody mary was delicious and I really enjoyed it. I also wish they had some pasta like dishes on their menu. I know it's supposed to be a burger place but can I get some mac and cheese or something? I don't hate this place but I would go back. Mostly because I can pay with my jagtag.

This place hands down has some of the best greasy food I've had. When it comes to their burgers few places compare. This establishment also understands that sauces are important and more specifically, hot sauce. I come back for the assortment of Bison burger combos. Sometimes the portions get me on board. :)

We came to try out some of the many beers at this brewhouse. We were seated outside and had to wait some time for our waitress. After asking what beer they had she said that we needed a beer menu. I thought that was a greet plan but the waitress had a hard time implementing it. After asking three more people for a beer menu and receiving some snippy responses we finally got one after sitting for some 15-20 minutes. The experience was ruined and we left never to return. I blame this on mis-management. If the leather bound beer menu is so expensive that you can't give one to every guest of your "brewhouse" then you need a new beer menu.

Extremely kid friendly and very knowledgeable staff. I love the option of the smaller burgers - great feature for those of us who can't down a huge burger and/or end up with leftovers at the end of the meal. Love the atmosphere. The only cons I can really voice at this time: The fried foods are hit and miss. Depending on when you go, you can tell if the fryer has not been cleaned and that aftertaste is pretty gross. This has only been an issue a couple of times the many times we've been there, though. And each time was not a peak time. really hate the high chairs as I'm of a short stature, but have to sit there as we still have a baby that sits in a highchair and they cannot be used at booths (at the 96th street location, anyway, haven't been to others). That is a personal issue, though, and not an issue with the establishment at all - however something that I thought I'd mention. It is not at all factored in to my 4 star rating. Good food, great staff, and great prices.

Had yet another stellar meal. Tried a couple of the local brews and had an all around great time with my kids. This is a family friendly establishment. It is loud, but in Bloomington you will see ALL kinds of people. This time we saw my son's man crush, Victor Oladipo. My 16 and 12 year old loved the excitement and mood of the place. Great service and food. I rarely give a 5 star, but they have been consistent.

I stopped in twice as a visitor from Cincy while attending a couple Pacers games a few weeks ago. I sat at the bar and the service was excellent both times, and the beer was fresh, cold and good. They have 40-50 different draft beers and they seem to specialize in Indiana craft beer, although there are many others. I chose a Three Wise Men Centennial DoubleHop IPA, and it reminded me of Bell's Brewery HopSlam, the Holy Grail of IPA's. It's interesting just how many craft beer breweries Indianapolis and the state of Indiana has; it's clear that Hoosiers love their beer, and to that I say Salut!, Salud! Prost! Slainte!, Cin Cin!, and Cheers! Well, now that I've reviewed the beer I had, I return to Scotty's: Nice comfortable large bar, individual TV's at the booth tables; close to Banker's Life Fieldhouse (1 block) where the Pacers play. There is a huge outdoor gas firepit fronting the busy street (Virginia) with suh-weet seating that I can't wait to return to and enjoy in more pleasant weather than a mid-western February. So, I will return to Scotty's downtown for their food sometime soon and will report back on the kitchen end of the house and the quality of the table service, which has certainly gotten mixed reviews from other Yelpers. Many are stating the food delivery is far slower than it should be, so I'll let you know!

Fun place to grab a burger and beer. They have some unique options which I really enjoyed: Bison Burgers (huge fan and love to see these on the menu) $13 Loaded tater tots I had a Shewman special burger with bison instead of beef. The Shewman has peanut butter, jalapenos, cheddar cheese and bacon $10.50 Excellent! Note: They have a Gluten-Free and a low Cal menu also have spicy options Lots of beer options with daily bar specials. Worth a stop. I would return.

Neat place with a pretty standard sports bar/grille/pub food selection. Food was good and came out timely. Server was in a busy section and did a great job tending to everyone around, including us.

At this point in my Yelp life, I feel that I've almost reviewed every Scotty's in Indiana. It's a goal I've been attempting for a long time and I'm finally accomplishing my dream. It's an average Scotty's experience: reliable drinks, a solid, expansive drink/food menu, a solid, comfortable environment, and an overall fun space. I ordered a few pints of their craft beer, which I wasn't unhappy with at all, and picked at a few leftover meals that got left behind from my comrades. We were going to see Selena Gomez, so I didn't want to look to bloated. The food that I scavenged were delicious pretzel breadsticks and cheese. It was tasty and filling, and I understand why the person couldn't finish all five or six of them. It was salty, savory, and beyond tasty. My friend beside me ordered something that I had never seen before, which was an alcohol milkshake that was apparently legendary at this location, courtesy of the bartender's magic. It had chocolate vodka, mixed with ice cream and peanut butter. She was very happy with her order, and I was lucky enough to try a taste and I definitely agree. It is, however, quite filling, so if you don't like lots of sugar, it could make your stomach a bit achy. This location is excellently located near Bankers Life, so I can imagine this place gets quite busy during basketball season. You don't be disappointed here if you like a classic Scotty's experience!

I've visited this location twice and the now closed location on the south side of the city. The closed location I'd give 4 stars. Here, not so much love. Don't get me wrong, the fire pit and walk up to the business is somewhat impressive. Great view. You can't help but spy a tv as it seems there are over a hundred. One would definitely not miss any sports action. However, the food is always served lukewarm here. I really love the idea and taste of the Shewman burger. What's not to like about jalapeno's, peanut butter, bacon and cheddar on a mid rare burger? It'd be superb with a more ample slather of peanut butter and served hot. The 'gourmet' cajun bleu mac 'n' cheese begged me to order. Sorry, tasted like boxed cheese sauce and was served cold. The burger gets 3 stars. The mac 'n' cheese gets 2. The atmosphere is probably the best offering at Scotty's.

The constantly rotating crew here never seems to know how to handle transactions like the VIP card or Round the World that every other Scotty's handles with ease. The employees are never around long enough to learn your name and customer service isn't really a priority here. It is my understanding that this is geared towards the football/basketball stadium crowds than locals, so I guess they have a unique view. Prices are above average for average food and drink. The hours are horrible (seriously, why have a bar that closes at 11 or midnight?). Sadly, among the everyday restaurants downtown, this is the best. That speaks more to the lack of options in Indianapolis than the quality of this place. I'm probably one of the most regular customers here and I'd rate it "Meh". This is truly the worst Scotty's in the chain. If you stop here because you're in town, don't let your experience at this location keep you from going to Muncie, Lafayette or Bloomington. Those all have great customer service.

Beer samplers were great, fried pickle appetizer was fabulous! My pretzel burger with onion straws and cheddar Spreadable cheese was outstanding! Service was great and when I pointed out a question with the bill he immediately corrected with no hesitation. Great service and food. Hubby was skeptical when I wanted to go there but he admitted it was great!

So many downtown bars and restaurants way over charge for drinks. Not at Scotty's! After visiting two other places downtown last Saturday night and getting poor service, lousy overpriced drinks we decided to check out Scotty's, I was very pleasantly surprised that I got a great drink with a great pour that was considerably less than the first two places! And the food is always great at Scotty's, how can one go wrong with fried pickles and tater tots anyway?

Came here as a bachelorette party type girl's night with a bride-to-be friend and her bridesmaids. Scotty's was a solid choice to start the evening. We ate out on the patio and watched people go by. The food is barfood, but with a few healthy options. We started with fried pickles and buffalo chicken dip. (I never said we GOT the healthy options.) It was a Thursday and drafts were 3.50 -- gotta love Indiana. I got a dark saison that was pretty delicious, and ordered the buffalo chicken mac and cheese as my entree. It was cheesy, gooey, spicy and tasty. Service was friendly and prompt and they happily split the bill among the five of us.

You are kidding right??? Now I know why midwesterners are obese Everything is oversized, over greasy, over salted and over cheesed... Typical Indianapolis meal:( yuck... Funniest item to date, however, They are " trying" edaname as a NEW menu item but it is served with garlic terriaki sauce!!! OMG, get a clue! Needless to say , we had a chuckle... Pretty bad, and so was the service Yuck:(

Had their IPA and Double IPA and was especially happy with the double. Food...not so much. I'll have to try something different next time. Menu looks good and they have all-you-can-eat wings for $12!

Nice space , good food and great service. The only complaint is the meny is too big and it's hard to decide on something, knowing they can't do it ALL equally as well.

Great place for sports watching. All you can eat wings!!!! Great variety of burgers. The service was nice, he gave great advice on drink selection. Boozie Milkshake tasted great if you like Reese's peanut butter cups then I suggest you try it. Overall a great experience. Also funny thing : I asked a waitress if there was a burger with nacho cheese instead of regular cheese and she looked at me funny like I was weird, and gave me a recommendation which I went with. The reason this is funny is because upon further investigation of the menu there was a burger with peanut butter.......really???? I guess nacho cheese was just sooooo farfetched that it warrented a funny look from the waitress. Well, its funny to me lol. Laterz

There are many reviews of Scotty's, so I'll make mine short and sweet. Good: 1.) Beer selection is great. I loved the local beers that our server pointed out to us. 2.) Great service. Blake kept checking in on us, even though he was clearly busy with a lot of other tables. 3.) The combo meal was a great value! We got an app and two entrees for $25. Meh: 1.) My burger was OK. I like a burger mostly done, but this "medium" came MUCH more like what I would call "well." A second of searching for "medium beef color" on the internet confirms my suspicion that "medium" should have a bit of pink, but should be mostly brown. This burger was pure brown, which I am also TOTALLLY OK with, but in this case, I thought the result was dry. Dry burgers make me sad. (By comparison, I ate a burger at my hotel yesterday it my "medium" was almost "rare;" you just never know...) 2.) My colleague was disappointed because his "indiana breaded pork tenderloin" was a sandwich. I'm sure it said this inside the menu, but we ordered from the combo menu, which didn't indicate the tenderloin was a sandwich. Also, not the end of the world. Overall, that's why I give it a 4 star review.

Pros: Fun, lively ambiance with lots of flat screens for your sports-viewing pleasure. Attentive, accommodating and helpful staff. Cons: Unimpressive, subpar food. Got the spinach and artichoke dip which was pretty standard, completely uninspired - tasted like something you could get at Applebees or a "meh" chain restaurant. Made the mistake of getting the lo-cal buffalo wrap. It came drenched in a vinaigrette that was too tangy, too salty and overall unappealing. One of the benefits of wraps is they are easy to eat. However, I was fighting from having the vinaigrette ooze all over my plate with every bite. Not at all my ideal culinary experience. Wrapping it up: Would consider revisiting just for drinks to watch a game - NOT to eat.

Scotty's is a sentimental favorite. They have some of the best burgers in town, and if you're a VIP member (which is now free!), the kiddos eat for free on Sundays and Tuesdays. It is a bit pricy for lunch, and so are drinks unless you want a subpar 3 wisemen brew on draft. But overall, Scotty's is a great fallback place that isn't a chain.

Lessons learned: 1) When reading the menu, calmly inhale and exhale so as to not get overwhelmed with the bundles and oodles of drink, entree, and dessert choices. Take your time, take a break and watch the tv hooked into your booth, and/or enjoy the loud, blasting music. 2) Do not ever order a cupcake from a brewhouse. I made this mistake, totally allured by the flavor of the month, "holy cow cupcake" made from local and organic ingredients. More like "holy crap cupcake"! It was dry, stale, and traumatizing. 3) Consider ordering a burger and building your own! Don't build your expectations too high though. Mine was overcharred and not as juicy as the Krispy Kreme donut burger I had at the state fair the next day. Still ate it all. 4) The best part of this meal was the waffle fries. Get them Cajun style! That's some delish seasoning. 5) Don't accidentally walk into the out-of-place conference room by the bathrooms. Actually, you can, if you want to.

This was my first time hitting the downtown location. As with the other Scotty's locations, they have a good beer selection and good food. There are good veggie burgers for the vegetarians. The thing that sets this location apart from the rest (besides being surrounded by downtown views) is their massive outdoor seating area. If it's warm out, eat outside. it's worth it.

I love Scotty's. I've been a few times, but this review reflects my last visit. I think Scotty's is generally pretty great, but I wouldn't visit here when it's busy. My girlfriend and I ventured downtown during GenCon this past weekend and had to wait for over an hour for a table for two. I know it's a good sign when a place is busy, but the frustrating part here was that throughout that entire hour, there were more than 15 empty tables. The staff just seemed incredibly inefficient. Beyond that, the food wasn't that good. We ordered dill chips, which are normally delicious, but these ones came out cold and were way too salty. The same thing happened with the waffle fries. On top of this, our waitress did an awful job communicating with us. My girlfriend is a vegetarian. She ordered a sandwich and instead of bacon, asked for cheese. We got charged $1.25 for the cheese. Isn't bacon more expensive than cheese? Our waitress said that the substitution would be no problem, but failed to mention the extra charge. More frustrating, though, was the fact that we both ordered drinks that were on special - bloody marys. They were supposed to be half off; our waitress didn't tell us this wasn't the case. Only when our bill came and we asked did she say, "Oh, there are no specials during GenCon." So basically when they're busy, all the specials disappear? Because of these two things, our bill was about $10 more than it should've been. I'm not a cheapskate, but for me this was a principle thing. Not impressed, Scotty's, not impressed.

Let me start by saying I'm a big Scotty's fan in general. My family loved going to the Lake House when it was open and we are big Thr3e Wisemen fans. We took our family to Scotty's downtown on a Sunday where kids eat free. We expecting a big crowd due to the kids eating free. We were immediately told there would be 45 minutes to an hour wait although there looked to be quite an abundance of empty tables. The wait wasn't too bad and we got sat at a decent size table which was comfortable for all of us. Now here's the bad part...our server was completely incompetent. She was very nice and friendly but extremely slow and completely unaware of what we were ordering and what we needed. The first example I'll give is around ketchup our kids are young and love ketchup we had to ask for it three times and when I came the bottle was completely empty. I had to get another server and luckily for us he had some on him and was very nice and courteous. My next example is around milk for my oldest son. I asked her for a milk refill and about 10 minutes went by and she returned with no milk. I once again asked her she came back another 10 minutes later without it. I asked her again after three times I finally said that I'm sorry to be a pain but my son is really asking for some milk. She finally returned with chocolate milk. He was drinking white milk. She didn't bring a lid with this milk and when she came to our table she actually dropped the lid from the previous drink on the floor therefore making him wait another 5 to 10 minutes for white milk with a lid. We also had to wait an extremely long time to get our check and then for her to get our credit card and for her to return with our credit card all of this why my three kids are starting to get cranky and really need to head home. My food was amazing I really enjoyed my barbecue chicken wrap. All in all we will definitely return to Scotty's my kids love their food we love their atmosphere. I really like the nice touches they put in place around the free kids Sundays around the treasure chest although our waitress forgot the Lemonheads which my kids really look forward to... I was okay with that given that it was their bedtime. Again, we will definitely be back...love the food. Just think they really need to reevaluate their waitstaff at the downtown location.

Great place to watch sport games. TV's at all booths and throughout rest. Ordered grilled cheese and cheesy tator tots. Nothing special and only warm temp. Service was great. Cost was high for food I can make at home and have it taste even better. Not what I was looking for while traveling through the area. Parking on street or lots nearby ($10).

This is a great place! Has really good food - i don't drink but heard their brews are great too. Its casual but still very nice. and has sports on most of the time. Also it's so nice to finally have somewhere that doesn't treat you like a leper just because you have kids. They really embrace it and are so kind to little ones.

Positives- Nice gluten-free menu options as well as some better-than-average pub food selections. Nice local beer selection as well. Negatives- I have been here a few times with friends and I don't think I'll go back. Not because of the food or the service but because everything takes so long. I've never left this place, in and out, in under 4 hours. Takes FOREVER to get seated and even longer to get food. I value my time too much to give this place another shot. I think they must tell everyone that walks in the wait is about 40 minutes.

Like other reviewers have stated, service here is spotty. We stopped in for a beer and sat at the bar looking to get a late night dinner. There were dirty plates of still on the bar and the bartenders seemed to completely ignore us as we waited for service. Finally we decided to get up an leave and head over to another restaurant down the road. It would have been nice to have a least been acknowledged and told that we were going to get service. It did look like a nice restaurant inside with lots of seating and tvs for watching sports. Lots of restaurants in this area too. Hope you have better luck there than we did.

I was with a group of six when we visited Scotty's. Our server was attentive and kept our beers full. The menu is full of typical bar food. If you want to grab a quick bite or beer Scotty's is a good option. I wouldn't pick this place if I was looking for an above average meal.

Mediocre food and below average service. The wait staff stood around watching tv while the customers waited for service. The food was nothing special at all.

If you're craving something, Scotty's will have it! They have a huge menu with anything you want. It's a great place to gather for the big game or to just grab a few beers with your pals. My only flaw is that the service isn't the best. It takes quite a while to get your food/drinks but in the end, it's totally worth it!

I am a very frequent vister to the Scottys Brewhouse downtown Indianapolis. I went to grab a late bite to eat Saturday evening (June 7th) and arrived around 11:30. Scottys has always prided itself on serving food until the kitchen closes as advertised, which is 12 on the weekends. As I arrived it began to rain, so I brought my bike that I rode in with, inside and began to lean it against the wall, as I have done multiple times before. All of the sudden I hear someone screaming at me from a distance, I turn around and realize it is the manager (I found out her name is Britaney, yes that's how it's spelled I asked, she is apparently new) yelling at me from across the dining room, with a restaurant FULL of guests, telling me to put my bike outside. Are you f*cking joking me? I am a guest in your establishment and I expect to be treated as a guest, not yelled at and intentionally embarrassed in front of patrons and employees alike. Whether I was in the right or not does not matter, the professional thing to do as a manager would be to approach me and politely ask me to move my bike outside, and give me an explanation as to why she was asking me to do so. I fully believe that customer service and providing a warm welcoming atmosphere is THE MOST important aspect of any restaurant, and from the moment I walked in the door I knew that wasn't how this visit was going to work out this particular evening. Also, this manager passed me several times while I was sitting at the bar, and I expected to get a, "Hey sorry for yelling at you," or some sort of explanation as to why she raised her voice at a guest, but she walked by as if nothing had happened at all. I honestly have never been so insulted in my entire life as a guest at a bar or restaurant anywhere, ever. This was the first mishap of my very disgruntled evening. Next, I go and take a seat at the bar. I grab a drink which was fantastic, Emily the bartender was amazing. Couldn't have asked for better service or bar knowledge. She was honestly the only highlight of my visit. So about 10 minutes in to my visit, I ask to order some food, and the bartender tells me they have done last call for the kitchen. Knowing that the kitchen always stays open right till midnight, and most of the time later than that, I asked why and was told that the dishwasher had broke. Well folks, this one really blows my mind. Your dishwashing machine broke, so you shut down the entire kitchen?! I didn't know since the dishwasher broke it caused all of the water in the store to shut off, the gas lines to their grill cut off, and all of the electricity to go down. I asked the bartenders why that was the case, because that honestly sounds lazy to me, this is a restaurant that serves food, and one facet of the kitchen goes down, not to mention it's the only one that doesn't pertain to the actual preparation and cooking of the food, and you shut the entire thing down. WOW. Now get this guys, this is the best part, the bartender that I was attempting to order food from said that when the dishwasher broke they had more than enough clean plates to get them through the evening, but the new manager Britaney shut it down because she didn't want to deal with the headache for the rest of the evening. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE F*CKING KIDDING ME. This was a joke, this place serves food and in return makes money, that is as simple of a business model there is out there, but since it would be an inconvenience to the manager, f*ck it, close the kitchen down. My head started to pound from the irritation running through my viens. I just want to reiterate that I come to Scottys ALL of the time. I have had mostly great experiences, but this night was a disaster. From the moment I walk into the door and get verbally sh*t on by the manager in the least professional way possible to the moment I leave I was livid. HOWEVER, I will NOT stop continuing to grace my presence at Scottys. I spend damn good money there and I will not let one unprofessional manager prohibit me from drinking their cheap beer and eating their cheep food. I WILL be giving all my fellow Yelpers a weekly update of my 2 to 3 visits per week of Scottys Brewhouse, and I hope that they are more positive in the future. I just wanted to give everyone an honest assessment of what you might run into if a certain manager is having a bad night, be on the lookout folks.

This is definitely one of the better sports hangouts downtown. They have a nice menu and consistently have good food and service. It can get packed after games, but if you can find a table or a place at the bar, you'll get good service.

Love Scotty's most of the time. Our last time we went was during the Super Bowl week. We sat outside under the tent and while the food was good, there was a big issue with access to restrooms. What we didn't know was by sitting under the tent, we weren't going to be let inside to use the restrooms. Instead, they made you go to the port-a-potties outside. I saw several people try to go to the inside only to have security staff tell them no and direct them to the port-a-potties. In my opinion, that was in very bad taste. I'm sure there was a reason but had I known that, I wouldn't have sat outside. For adults it wasn't too bad but many of us sitting outside were families and many with small children. Trying to get a child to use a port-a-potty is not easy. Any other time I'd give them 4 stars but for this last visit I can only give them 1 star but the reason is for the treatment of their paying customers who were forced to use outside port-a-potties. The food was good as always.

The Yelp menu is not up-to-date, so don't count on them having whatever you read about and are now craving! That said, the pork tenderloin was delicious and my kids liked their meals. My husband's burger was good, but overdone. The service was lacking, but that may have just been our server.

I like to lead with good stuff, and this place has great fried pickles! We often come here after work because it is super convenient to my office and a reasonably priced place for drinks and appetizers. You can normally come here for lunch and get in and out quickly, as well. I like the huge outdoor space and patio where you can listen to live music and enjoy a nice temperate evening. However, that is the limit of my fondness for Scotty's. The service is inconsistent at best and many of the servers I have had didn't even know what Gin was. Ok, maybe not many, but it just takes one to ask me what gin is and then bring me back a vodka tonic. BLEH!!! This is a very young place and I mean young in the staff. They just don't get good service and they are slow in the evenings and for dinner. I am not a huge fan of this place, but since my company does a lot of events here, I spend a bit of time here.

Went to Scotty's as a 3rd choice on Monday evening (Labor Day). Was in the mood for a burger but my first two restaurant choices were closed for Labor Day. Okay, I'm all for people getting a day off of work, it's a national holiday, etc. But am *I* supposed to slave over a hot stove and cook my own food just because it's a holiday? ; ) Anyway, I ordered the Midwest Burger and it was surprisingly good. Probably the best burger I've ever had at Scotty's. The waffle fries......meh. But the burger really was good. Downsides - Music was WAY too loud. It's Monday evening, it might be nice to have some conversation over dinner. Not an easy thing to do with music at this volume. We asked to be re-seated because our first table was directly underneath a speaker. 2nd table was a little better, but you cannot escape the music. Waiter seemed pretty disinterested. Might have been put off a little bit because we asked to be re-seated. He sat down at our table to take our order...I find that to be a little cheesy in general and a little uncomfortable if the waiter acts like he's bored to tears, doesn't smile and speaks in a monotone. It's Scotty's...I'll be back at some point but when I'm downtown they will never be my first option.

I just returned from a team lunch at Scotty's Brewhouse. A group of eight of us arrived at 11:30 and were seated promptly. Service was very attentive and thorough although I thought that the food took a tad long to arrive. I had the "Mo'Fo Buffalo Chicken Wrap", which was very tasty (and spicy), along with perfectly prepared tater tots. My coworkers all had a variety of different sandwiches and each one enjoyed their order. IMO, the best thing about Scotty's was the atmosphere, which has an upscale sports bar feel. I could easily see myself spending an entire afternoon there watching football or NCAA basketball tournament action (now there's an idea, now that March is almost here). A very warm, inviting atmosphere with a good number of TVs. Today was my first trip to Scotty's, but I hope to be back before too long.

I've finally found the Scotty's light. I took my very picky parents to Scotty's and they loved it. The wings are Scotty's are the best thing on the menu. The menu is huge, so I think it's hard to decide what you want. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and wings. My mom and I split the sweet chicken club wrap and my dad got a burger. Their mac and cheese is also very good. I've had it on several occasions. My friends like the dill chips (deep fried pickles). I don't even like pickles and I like them. Friends also like the mini corn dogs, but I wouldn't say that those are that out of the ordinary. Come to Scotty's if you want beer and good American food. They also have many different fun martinis and mixed drinks. Stick with the wraps, wings, and burgers, and it will be great.

Positives: SMOKE FREE sports bar...a rarity in this city. They make every attempt to source their ingredients locally...very impressive for an operation of this size. Menu truly has something for everyone (many vegetarian choices), with a portion of the menu dedicated specifically to Gluten Free offerings. Half-price appetizers after a certain time. Tons of TVs. HUGE patio with great fire pit and couches. Dyson Airblade hand dryers. I love them. Usually the servers are knowledgeable and pleasant. Your food's always hot because it's brought out when it's ready by a runner. The manager with Polamalu-esque hair is very involved and super nice. Fresh flowers on all the tables-nice little surprise. Mini Corndogs. Handful of local beers available. Big booths seat 6 people. Kid-friendly. This Indiana-only mini chain TRIES and it's evident. Negatives: it's the first floor of a high rise-you'll likely need to park in a garage or walk a few blocks from a spot on the street. It can be LOUD...not just a little...especially on the weekends. Sometimes there's a bad douchebag vibe. Every now and then you'll get a crappy server...there are dozens of servers, bound to be a few lemons. Tons of TVs, even at the tables. Sometimes you're just not in the mood for whatever's on at your table. Sometimes drinks take quite awhile to arrive. Giant menu can overwhelm, but think about what you are in the mood for, and use the table of contents to guide you. Or just build your own sandwich back on page 20-something. On nights when there are "significant" sports events, wait can be long, and they don't take reservations...but there is a very nice waiting area with wing-back chairs.

Very good selection of beers, however so do other places. Food is just so-so and overpriced. Service is also so-so. Much better options in the area.

My second attempt to find a good pub burger was met with resounding success with Scotty's Brewhouse. Upon walking in, I had realized that this place is quite large, and seems like it's designed to handle the crowds for game day. However, since there haven't been any types of games in a couple months now, the staff seemed a little out of practice. I had pulled up to the bar, and I sat for a good while before anyone noticed I was there. Fortunately, the bad service seemed to end at this point. I was promptly informed that it was wing night, all you can eat for $10. Well, since I had come in for a burger, I was going to have one of those. But, if you're trying to highlight something like your wings, then I will oblige. I put in my order for wings, and then proceeded to browse through the 10,000 pages of burgers in their menu. Seriously, there are a lot of burgers here. They could probably find a way to trim this menu a bit, but I finally decided on and placed my order for dinner. Shortly after that, my wings arrived. Now, for this to make sense, I have to go back to when I ordered the wings. I like mine spicy, and tried to order them as such. I was told by the barteneder that I'm not allowed to order them that way. If I want them hot, I can get the sauce on the side and dip them myself. So, that's how I ordered the wings. And that's how they came. Anyway, from experience, when someone runs a wing special, you can assume that you're going to get pint sized wings that are over cooked because they've been waiting around to be ordered. Not here, they were anything but. Their wings were bigger than most places on a normal night, and the meat was nice and juicy, not overcooked at all. My only complaint? There is absolutely no reason to have the hot sauce on the side. It's spicier, yes, but it's not that spicy. As a result, the wings were messier than usual, causing me to stain my shirt. I'm just hoping that the hot wings are about as permanent in stain form as they are hot. That would be not very. Moving on, my burger came before I could finish my first plate of wings. That was fine since I really wasn't there for the wings anyway. So, I cleaned up as much as I could with what I had. Wetnaps anyone? Unfortunately, it was a bit of work to get all the extra wing sauce off my hands before I could pick anything up. But, once I did I got right down to business. The burger was absolutely delicious. The meat was tender and juicy and it was perfectly topped. Granted, this may be my first time trying a juicy lucy, but I was quite impressed.

I wanted to compliment Scotty's downtown Indy for taking very good care of us during Gen Con 2012. It was an incredibly busy weekend, but they managed to make a table for 12-15 folks in a group who just sort of showed-up (yeah, us!) within approximately 10 minutes. Once seated, the wait staff was very courteous and generally quite prompt (given the huge crowd there that night, at least), and they were very accomodating to a group of happy and hungry gamers looking to gather for a night. Food was good. I've had better, but I've definitely had worse. I ordered a black bean wrap and it was served hot and well. Prices were great, especially for someone used to paying Boston prices. :) Nice job! Recommended.

Went back for quick business lunch and they have turned things around. Very good service, great food (black and blue burger) and friendly atmosphere. It seems like they are really trying to improve things. I hope they keep it up!

This place cannot get things right...just amazing. Server was delightful, engaging...and involved my friends kids in the decision making..excellent move. Well...server was great...the kitchen screwed up virtually every dish. In my case I ordered a Bison Burger....with blued cheese ON the burger....jalepenos...mofo sauce on the side....what I received was probably not a Bison Burger....with mofo sauce ON the burger and ON the side. The burger had some cheese on it that I did not ask for...and blue cheese on the side. I asked for the bun to be well grilled/toasted and not slathered with Whirl, or whatever fake butter the kitchen might be using...naturally the bun was barely toasted if at all...and seemed to have some greasy crap on it. This is why I don't like the use of "expos" who are not trained to read and compare the ticket with the damn dish. I have fare fewer plate mistakes with places that have servers actually serve....rather than simply order takers. Kids to Pacer game...adults (3) to the bar. 50 bartenders and bar backs swarming around...but tough to actually get a drink. It was comical...to the point where we were counting laps....bartenders walking in circles around the bar...with a "Stepford Wives" like blank stare....and not actually looking down to see if people needed drinks....nor making eye contact. Sooo...we get our beers...bar was disgustingly sticky...I asked several times for a bar rag to wipe the damn bar...."I will get that right away sir"....not exactly...never happened. Next...."may i have two hearted please ?".....pours a half glass and mentions they have to change kegs...cool ! 15 minutes later...."ummm....may I have that two hearted ?".....bartender "yes of course"...sooo...bartender fills the glass the rest of the way and brings it over. I don't think so....nahhhh...don't really want the bottom of the keg beer that has been sitting on the damn bar for 15 minutes....so...I tell them I am not going to drink that beer...and bring me another one.... admittedly in not the most pleasant tone. Bartender walks away shaking head in disgust....passive aggressive body language. Next...."may i have the check ? " she just walks away and does nothing....ask another worker...same thing...finally a guy gets my check...it should not take 20 minutes and 3 request to pay a damn bill. Overall...every experience at this restaurant has been disappointing...which is odd...because Wise run places are usually overstaffed with well trained people.

Firstly may I say that I have never in my considerable number of years on this planet ever witnessed a town so beholden - and built around - sports franchises as indianapolis. Scotty's attempts to attract the beer connoisseur but it's weak beer offering fell short although I did like the fact that one could design ones own nachos.

The Shewman Burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had! It was cooked to perfection, and the waffle fries complimented the burger so well. The jalapenos, bacon, cheddar cheese, and peanut butter all complimented each other, nor the taste of the burger patty. This is a place I will be trying again when back in Indy.

This place use to be better. It's still good but they continually hike the prices up and it's gotten to the point where it's not worth going. The food quality is comparable to an Applebee's or Chili's but the latter choices are actually cheaper. I use to frequent this place a lot but that was when the wraps and burgers were $8. They have since gone up significantly but the quality and amount of food remained the same. Now it has turned into an over-priced sports bar that's not worth going to but every once in a while. The burgers are good but the chicken caesar wrap is my favorite. It's probably the best chicken caesar wrap I've had. Drink prices are a bit high, especially if you get a premium drink. Dessert prices are also high but the peanut butter pie is definitely worth a try. A slice of it will run you $5 but I recommend trying it. If you find it as awesome as I do, I recommend going home and google-ing the recipe for no-bake peanut butter pie and making it. You can make the entire pie for what Scotty's charges for a slice but that way you can compare and will know if you made it right. Aside from that, I would only go here if there's a big game on that you want to watch. It's a decent place but it's a shame it has gone slightly downhill over the past several years...

I'm generally a big fan of all of Scotty's restaurants as the food is usually high quality food for those in the mood for classic American pub food. At the downtown location, though, my food tends to only arrive half of the time without any problems. I've had to deal with minor items such as undercooked fries or not receiving the actual items I ordered. Fortunately most of the issues have been minor and, when brought up, are always fixed immediately. So, despite the frequency of the problems, I continue to come back and will continue to come back. Ultimately, Scotty's Brewhouse is still a very great option, when weighing all of its characteristics, among the other restaurants and bars downtown. This make the minor issues I've dealt with worth putting up. The food menu has a wide variety of options, healthy options and not-so-healthy options. I discovered my love of fried pickles through Scotty's and all of the appetizers are a really good value. The salads are of fairly good quality and the half-sized ones provide plenty of food for the truly health-conscious people. When the weather is right, Scotty's Brewhouse has one of the best patios in Downtown Indy. It is probably the largest patio downtown and has an amazing firepit. There is nothing like being able to sit on an outdoor couch and drink a pitcher of Wee Mac or Upland Wheat with your friends, especially if it's half-price appetizer night. The beer list here is amazing and there are always some local brews from Sun King and Flat 12 available. I look forward to the day when Scotty will let his brews from Thr3e Wisemen also be served here, but unfortunately, I will have to keep making the trip up to Broad Ripple for a Two Lucy's. My first Sunday brunch here was a success as well. The brunch menu is short yet perfect for this place and I will eventually come back one weekend morning to try more of it.

This is a great place. Food is good, service is almost always spectacular and if it's not, which is rare, the owner/mgt are very quick to rectify the situation. Well deserving of 5 stars. Local gem.

Scotty's, you have earned another star. Yelper SZW and I went here for devour downtown and we had a great experience in customer service. I was checking out their devour dt menu and noticed they had quac as an appetizer and that sounded like it would hit the spot. SZW and I made a deal, I choose the app, he chooses the dessert. Done deal. When we got there, the devour dt menu has CHANGED! Our server, Scott (Scotty at Scotty's, eating lunch with Scott), anyway Scott said he would talk to the manager. He let us order the quac as planned with devour downtown. Very nice. Scott brought refills exactly when we needed them. Our food was great and checked in often enough where we didn't feel annoyed. The manager came over and thanked us for coming in and bringing up the discrepancy between the menu online and the menu in the restaurant. When you get something to go, your order is written on the box with the date. That is a nice touch. Thank you Scotty's for kicking it up a notch.

yeah, i thought, "hey a brewhouse! i'm gonna go check this out!". but turns out the beers are not brewed in-house, but somewhere else. okay, i suppose i can live with that, but i was disappointed. "brewhouse" kind of implies a certain thing, you know. i had the spicy chicken sandwich, it was good but nothing particularly special. sat next to some guy that confided in me that this is the place where locals go to do shots, not drink beer. i could see why. the interior was clean and spacious, with a decor that is somewhat reminiscent of an applebee's, only less irritating. they have a nice horseshoe shaped bar, and the bar staff were attentive and friendly.

We checked out Scotty's when we were in town for the Indy 500. Our wait was much shorter than anticipated - check - but the server who took our drink order couldn't remember who we were & where we moved to even after we went right up to him. The waitress we did have for dinner was just unimpressive. Forgot to put in our order for an appetizer and acted confused when we asked for it. Skipped it since our food came out first. I had the buffalo mac & cheese. It was good but nothing I need to have again. My hubby's burger was good and cooked perfectly. Beautiful night in Indy to be sitting on their very nice patio! We'd try again if we were in town.

Went in on a tuesday around 4, and there was no crowd, nice but you know that means staff can be slower too. 1/2 priced appetizers of certain selection. Was my first time in but my friend has been many times. She recommended the nachos, and they were GREAT, huge even thought they came off the 1/2 priced deal. we couldn't even finish them. Our waitress was not great we waited for ever for drinks and water refills and then again for our check and change probably 40 min spent just waiting on her to come back to table . we were only one of 5 tables with people. I am sure when they are busy the staff is more on it, well at least i hope so.

"It was the best of restaurants, it was the worst of restaurants". Seriously, I'm not quite sure how they do it. At this one location alone, all within about a year's time, i've had some of the absolute best and absolute worst restaurant experiences EVER. Bar none. Indoors is upscale: brick walls, wood bar and tables, comfortable chairs & booths, plenty of TVs, and, from my experience, really friendly, knowledgeable bartenders. They also have a pretty decent beer selection (though some occasionally change relatively frequently it seems). I go enough to make buying into the Mug Club worth it. You get your own mug (yours to keep), they hang it there for you, and you get discounts on beer. Plus, stop in for lunch and they'll fill it w/ soft drinks for free. Their patio is awesome! Probably the best in downtown. Great view of the city (since you're in the heart of downtown), high-quality outdoor furniture, and a unique couch/fire pit setup...making a great hangout for cooler nights. So, the good/bad thing... When it's good: the atmosphere is alive, whether there's a game or not. The food is very good, high quality (a "get what you pay for" kinda place, but not cheap -- similar to Rock Bottom or Champps, but not a huge corporate chain). Their burgers never disappoint, and I've had many different kinds. I try to sub a bison patty in every time too! And, again, I've had some of the best service I've ever had at a restaurant here. Refills before I even think of it, someone coming around enough to ask for something when I need it, but not overly intrusive. I even filled out an online survey they have to compliment a few of their servers. And I got an email back from Scotty! He's rumored to care greatly about customer service. And...when it's bad: my girlfriend and I were seated on the patio and probably sat there for 10 mins. Then I went and got drinks from the bar. No one EVER came to greet our table. I've also had some pretty crappy, apathetic servers. The ones you know are out taking one too many cigarette breaks, or who walk by your table 5 times before you can flag them down. All in all --Scotty's is one of my favorites (and I don't choose bars by their name, though I can't complain). This place's service inconsistency says one thing to me: the need for better management. But that really isn't my problem -- and as long as I still get *really* good burgers and a great beer selection, I'm going back.

Scotty's is a great place to take non-foodies because the menu is filled with sports bar basics like burgers, wraps, and pizza but you get to eat them in the heart of downtown Indy. A visit in nice weather is much better, because you can sit on the awesome patio which has a firepit, cornhole, and great people watching along the cultural trail. I've never been wowed by the service at Scotty's; food sometimes takes a while and my fries are almost consistently cold when they arrive. One thing Scotty's does really well: OPTIONS. The menu (a multi-page book) boasts eight different salads, over fourteen different wraps/sandwiches, pizza, tacos, and you can always build-your-own burger. Choosing your side is enough of a decision with sixteen or so options. How do you like your potatoes? They've got tots, chips, waffle fries, sweet potato fries, or traditional fries which can all be loaded or tossed in a number of different seasonings. Like I said...options! There are lo-calorie and gluten-free sections too... not my thing but we all have "that friend." ;) With a full bar and lots of local brews on tap, Scotty's seems to have something for everyone. P.S. If you're trying to catch a game, they've got plenty of TVs too. Read: every table...and even every bathroom stall!

In the grand landscape of gaming, there rages a war. A war that runs deeper than Pathfinder vs. D&D, deeper than Amerithrash vs. Eurogames, deeper even than Star Wars vs. Star Trek. I'm talking, of course, of the food scene of GenCon against that of the Origins Game Fair. And truly, this is a conflict for the ages! Columbus' phenomenal North Market was answered by Indianapolis' food trucks on Capitol and Georgia. For every St. Elmo's Steakhouse in downtown Indy, there's an upscale bistro in Columbus' Short North neighborhood. Columbus' Elevator Brewing and "Big Bar on Two" stand against Indy's storied "RAM". And, to match Barley's in Columbus, with their themed pint glasses, there's Scotty's Brewhouse. Each GenCon, Scotty's transforms from a sports bar into a fully geeked-out haven, complete with fantasy-themed specials and sci-fi classic movies on the numerous TVs. Sounds like gamer heaven, right? Alcohol, games, movies, and food? Well, there are a few issues. One, as with many restaurants and bars, Scotty's is a long freakin' walk from the Convention Center. In the hot August sun, that walk is exhausting and often just not worth it, when other options are closer. I mentioned Barley's up above--they're directly across from the GCCC, which makes grabbing a drink or a burger at Origins much easier than doing the same at Scotty's. Second, Scotty's tends to be a bit expensive. Burgers are usually at least $12, with items like bacon and cheese costing extra. While there are a few economical items on the menu, expect to spend $20 a person, easily. Again, I can't help but compare this to Barley's, who offers a number of Origins specials that are significantly cheaper. Thirdly, the food's just not that great. I mean, it's okay. It's certainly better than anything you'd get at a major chain, but at the same time...it's just *there*. The focus is definitely more on the beer and mixed drink selection, despite the voluminous menu. Further, there seems to be a fixation on ghost peppers on the menu; at least 6-7 menu items featured ghost peppers, which seems to be a bit much, considering the heat coming with those little buggers. Why not something cheap and bar-friendly like a poutine or a meat pie? Irish stew maybe? Nothing of the sort in sight. I'm sure I'll be back to Scotty's at some point. It's a GenCon mainstay, no doubt, but for me? I'll choose Origins and Barley's over it every time.

The atmosphere is much of what you'd expect from a downtown restaurant/bar (very sports-centric; understandable, given the proximity from Lucas Oil Stadium and Banker's Life Fieldhouse), but it did have a surprisingly diverse and descriptive menu, including calorie counts and gluten-free options clearly marked. I had a bbq bison cheeseburger (gluten-free bun) with sweet potato fries (a VERY generous portion!), and it was great. Service was friendly, attentive, and prompt. It was nice to be surprised by getting such great food and service from what, on the outside, appeared to be a very run-of-the-mill joint. Highly recommended!

Pub grub. Not a fancy foodies paradise, but good and filling pub grub with a good beer selection. Added bonus here is outside seating with games and fireplace, it is vegetarian friendly, and they have a few craft cocktails that are rather delish... I think I drank all of those by now. Highly recommend the peachy Martini, the raspberry Cosmo and the Caramel Apple Martini... yumm Goes well with the Chicken Penne Salad...

We stopped in because of a friend's recommendation in the middle of returning from a weekend road trip. I'm glad I have good friends in Indianapolis with great taste. Fare is extensive and very well presented in the menu (incl separate low calorie, gluten free sections). Our server helped narrow down our top picks with his favorites- he has great taste too. Vince also picked a local IPA that didn't disappoint. We also observed him handle a difficult patron at the table adjacent to us who complained about her family's food being cold, acknowledged it wasn't the servers fault (they have food runners) and then after a managers discount, gloated about leaving a measly tip. Granted the staff and management didn't hear her comments when they were away from the table, and handled the situation with grace, but, I would have booted the b*tch. Our lunch for three (appetizer, three entrees, a beer and a couple soft drinks) was a very reasonable $55 and the friendly and attentive server enjoyed a generous tip. Ill return for another great meal whenever passing thru the city again! Here is a pic of the scamming patron who was all too happy to under tip.

Do not try to go before a Pacers game. And do not get there after 12 for lunch if you want to sit outside... The wait is long, service is meh, but the food is decent. I do not highly recommend - but if you are able to actually get a table and your food in less than an hour - then I would say go for it. (And sit on the patio if at all possible!) Otherwise, save yourself the troubles and found somewhere else in downtown Indy to eat!

This is my second visit in three days. This place defiantly rocks. It's kid friendly, good beer selection and food is amazing. I had the new Piggy Mac and Cheese sandwich, wow it was awesome. A combination of pulled pork and Mac and cheese, brilliant! Overall, this place is a must when you are visiting Indy.

Scott's is an Indiana chain that's also a brewery + they are not homophobic and I appreciate how outspoken their owner was about RFRA. When one owns a sports bar, they can get away with not supporting gay rights so it's awesome this guy spoke up. First off, the new menu item (piggy Mac and cheese sandwich) is awesome. It's a grilled cheese sandwich with pulled pork and Mac and cheese. Yeah, bro, you heard me. They put Mac and cheese on a sandwich. What. So good. Also, the new menu item, the berry salad with strawberries, berries, pecans, feta, spinach, etc is quite good. Now, is it worth $9? Lol no. It's not that filling and doesn't cost that much to make. I would have liked more of the toppings, however, whatever if you roll with deep pockets, it's tasty. Appetizer: buffalo chicken cheese dip. It's alright. Not as good as I'd like and don't try to share with more than two hungry for people. But it's fun. Desert: get the cookie ice cream item! Melty half-baked chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. Ahhhh it's so good!! The brownie version is okay, tasty even, but no match for this! Plus, they have lots of daily food and drink specials! I can't wait to go on a Tuesday, for $2 tacos and $4 margaritas.

Have you met Scotty? I have. He's awesome. So is his food. I mean, it's like bar food grew up and named itself Scotty. Fried pickles? You got it. Buffalo chicken dip? Yep. Burger made with locally sourced ground beef, turkey, gouda, and topped with a fried egg and bacon? Oh, they have that, too. Not to mention, there are TV's everywhere! And, they'll show just about anything that you want. I got to watch NCAA gymnastics (amazing!), Golf, and Hoops at the same time. The decor is traditional Americana with a mixture of high-top tables, booths, and a huge wrap-around bar. There's even a fire pit outside for those warmer months. Basically, all of the all-american bar food that you know and love can be found here. Only, you know, better. Go ahead and put on your stretchy pants, your Pacers/Colts/Indians (or Clowns) t-shirt and head over to Scotty's. *BONUS Appetizers (some) are only $5.99 from 3-6 PM (M-Th)!

I cannot believe I have never reviewed this location before. We came down for dinner on race day and figured that the place would be packed. Yes, they were busy, but we had 0 wait. Our server came over right away and took our drink order. When she came back we had no clue what we wanted so she gave us plenty of time to make our selections. She did take the appetizer as well as the main course at the same time but did an amazing job making sure everything didn't come out at the same time. We started with the bbq pork nachos. It was a meal in and of it's self. I think it coulda used more bbq, but all in all it was pretty good. For my main meal I went with the farm raised ground beef in a philly cheesesteak style. It was really good. Cooked well, and had a good mix of toppings. With the amount of people that were in the location our waitress did a great job making sure we were taken care of, and our drinks were filled. This is a great location. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and the overall feeling is more casual hangout vs sports bar! A great place to hang out in downtown Indy.

Where do I begin? I love the Scotty's establishments, business models, focus on local ingredients, local beer...I could go on and on. So, why 2 stars? The downtown Scotty's is a TRAIN WRECK every time I visit. Rewind a few weeks to before Christmas, Scotty's was running a gift card bonus promo, so I added $50 to my VIP card and got a bonus $10. I decided to visit during devour and treat my in-laws to a dinner. We arrive just before 7pm on a busy Saturday night downtown, so there was a wait. No worries, that's expected. Great drinks await at the bar anyway. 15 minutes of waiting at the bar (at the bar, not waiting to get to the bar) and I finally get a beer. Then the real trouble starts. Scotty's ALWAYS has a problem dealing with the VIP cards. They promote the VIP system so hard, but it is the biggest hassle of any rewards system I've ever used. Knowing that its usually a problem, I hand the bartender a piece of paper with my VIP number written on it so I can use my gift card balance ($105). She comes back 5 minutes later with a bill and tells me the VIP card didn't work...then she left. After I wait another 5 minutes, I assure her that I am not paying in any other way, because there is $105 on my VIP card. She doesn't seem to know what to do, so we agreed I would "come back to the bar later" since my table was ready. I gave the receipt to our waitress and asked her to transfer it to our bill at the table, which she did. So it seemed we were off to a better start at the table. That was about 7:30. We sit at the table for about 5 minutes waiting on our waitress to find Devour Downtown menus. We finally settle on an order of Tatchos, Spinach and artichoke dip, 3 burgers (one bison, mine), and a wrap. Two of the burgers were ordered with waffle fries, one with mac and cheese, and the wrap was ordered with sweet potato fries. A little while passes and we got our appetizers. My mother-in-law digs into the Spinach dip and asks "what's this big clump?". That would be a clump of cream cheese, because the dip is ice cold. When we tell the waitress, she suggests we dump it all back into the bowl so she can heat it up. Luckily she returned with a new dish, which was warm. The burgers arrive. I ordered my bison rare, because I know, based on prior visits, that they struggle to cook it properly and tend to overcook it. It was a nice medium. Unfortunately, it was delivered with chips instead of waffle fries, so I had to wait for those to be replaced. At this point most of our drinks from the bar are completely empty. When the waitress happened to stop by to collect our plates and see about our dessert selections, she asked if I wanted another beer. I told her I'd look at the menu, but she never came back after we placed our dessert orders to follow up. Speaking of dessert, if you are going to put your whole dessert menu on the devour menu, do it right. I know how the cookie dough skillet comes out when you order it normally, and its not on a plate, hard, dry, and microwaved. Its called a skillet, people. I told the waitress I needed one bill. She brought 2. Then we waited for her to get us one bill. Then I remember that you can't tip on a VIP card, and I'll have to put one of the drinks on my credit card so I can tip. Luckily, she was at least able to run my VIP card. Overall, it took just over 2 hours for us to eat the 3 course devour menu, and we didn't even get drink refills on our adult beverages (she did refill the water once or twice). Scotty's lost out on a lot of money in alcohol sales and turning our table over. This experience has been common for my trips to the downtown Scotty's, which is why this was my final dinning trip at the downtown location. I live close to 3WM and the 96th street location, both of which have their shit together a lot more than the downtown location. I'm happy to stop in for a beer before a game, but no more food for me at this one.

Scotty's is perfect. It has it all really. Right in the center of downtown, next the the script. There's a fire pit they turn on at night with bean toss. The burgers are the main point of Scottys. There is a larger selection/ quality of meat. You can pick and choose from. I believe there are gluten free options as well, there is definitely a veggie option. Margaritas are $5 on Saturdays and the appetizers are 5.99 after 10pm, they close at midnight. So go! Love it. Big screen TVS and all. Can't say enough about them.

I had lunch here during the last day of Gen-Con...they had "Lord of the Rings" playing continuously all day... The beer selection was fairly standard for the area. The bartender was very friendly. The food was good...my burger was cooked perfectly. If you're looking for easy food that pleases almost everyone, this is a good option.

It's kind of a cool place to hang out. Large with an expansive patio space for the nice weather days. The food is mediocre. Happy hour deals are okay, but overall the place is just okay.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with dining at Scotty's. This particular location is a personal fave because of the outdoor fire pit. (And you're smack dab in the middle of downtown Indy!) Perfect for those summer nights where all you really want is to relax with a beer in hand; all while being outside. Recently, for Lent, they had the most delicious selection of blackened tilapia over a bed of brown rice. Ohhh my goodness - absolutely wonderful. Definitely want to go back soon even if it's just for that tilapia. And Scott, you are honestly a stand up guy. For all you local biz owners, this is one individual that's done a superb job of being both professional and down to earth. (I'm a BSU grad, so of course I'll always love the Muncie location as well. :)

This place never disappoints! Servers are always attentive and welcoming. I love that I can try something new every time I go or rely on the old faithful Shewman burger. Can't wait to see the remodel!!

$3 Drafts on Thursdays. Ate a huge Shewman burger that had peanut butter. Surprised I actually enjoyed it because you would think that peanut butter on a burger is random. Then you wonder why peanut butter on a burger isn't a standard ingredient! Bison beef accompanied with some perfectly-seasoned waffle fries. A Stella to finish. Got to try my partner's garlic teriyaki and tsricha honey wings. Crispy, perfectly sized, not drowned in sauwce... TASTY. Will be back for more.

A place that caters both to the sports nuts, families, and business people grabbing lunch. Scotty's atmosphere, food, and staff make this place a must stop while in Indianapolis - with locations around the city. Lunch specials are great, plenty of food, and include a soft drink. Kids meals all come with carrot/celery "appetizers" - think "Ways to distract a hungry kiddos!" There is also a toy chest for the kids to pick from - Shhhh - let it be a surprise! Enjoy!

Decided to go check out Scotty's downtown last Saturday evening before a show at the Murat. My wife and I arrived around 5:30 and were told it would be an hour wait. Wow, no thank you. We checked out the bar and luckily were able to grab two seats next to each other as a couple was leaving. Not 10 minutes later, my phone buzzed letting us know that our table was ready....what? That was a quick hour. I'm not sure if they were just trying to turn people away because it was getting crowded, but we decided to stick it out at the bar. Having had the burgers before, I thought I would try something different and got the BBQ grilled chicken wrap with a side of mac 'n cheese. My wife had the ultimate grilled cheese with tator tots. The food was good, nothing astounding. I think I will stick with the burgers next time though. The food came out quickly enough and the bartenders were very pleasant and attentive, even with an almost full bar. The price wasn't that bad for a downtown Indy restaurant/bar of this type. We each had one drink with our meals and ended up paying about $28 bucks. There was an NCAA game on at the time, so it was pretty loud with people cheering for their respective team. It was difficult to talk to my wife at times even though we were sitting right next to each other. The outdoor area looked really cool with the fire pit and lounges all around. I am definitely interested in going back later in the year when it is warmer and checking it out. It was a little too cold to be outside when we were there (that didn't stop some people from playing corn hole though). If you are looking for a good place to hang out downtown and love hamburgers, I would check Scotty's out. I would definitely go back.

If you don't eat at Scotty's Brewhouse before going to a Pacers game at Banker's Life, did you even go to the game? Scotty's is a local chain that is simply a sports bar done right. With a variety of both food and drink options, you can't go wrong with an order. I've had everything from the Build Your Own burgers to the fish tacos to the mo'fo chicken wrap and every meal has been enjoyable. And the sides - wow, LOVE me some waffle fries and tater tots. Splurge and get them loaded. After you've stuffed yourself with beer and food, please find some room for their peanut butter pie. I've never had anything like it. I probably order dessert at only 5% of restaurants I go to unless its a special occasion but I always find room in my budget and stomach alike for a piece of this delicious pie. Not too sweet or rich, just peanut buttery and perfect. I'm already trying to plan my next Pacers game night outing so I can come back here soon. The only thing that I'm not a fan of is that they don't have drink specials on game nights. That being said, their beer prices aren't out of the park, so I think I'll let it slide. Thanks Scotty!

3 star level is fair. Nothing to complain about, nothing to brag about. The food was bad, but I will say that everything was wicked salty. The cooks definitely need to start with the less is more mentality when it comes to salt. They do have a ton of TV's, even individual smaller sets at the booths. Plus the beer selection is decent. The service was great. Everyone was helpful and friendly.

This is one of those restaurants that honestly surprised me when Yelp reminded me that I should write my first review about it. I frequent Scotty's restaurants, and this has been go-to location since I moved downtown a year and a half ago. The location itself is fantastic. Close to everything downtown, right off of the cultural trail, and with lots of nice outdoor space. There is lots of paid street parking, and the usual downtown garages in the area. I think they could use more bike parking, but that is only an issue in the summer. The inside is a huge space that offers a bar area with a large 3 sided bar, a family dining area, and numerous rooms that can host both large and small private parties. The outdoor space is my favorite, and has plenty of tables along with a huge comfy outdoor couch that surrounds an open gas fire pit. They frequently have music playing in the patio area during summer evenings. The menu hits on a little bit of everything you expect at an American style sports restaurant, and has gone through some changes through the past few years. They offer a ton of apps, burgers, sandwiches, giant salads, wraps, and a nice selection of sides. Included in that list are different low calorie and gluten free options. The wings here are easily in the top 3 of my favorite in Indy, if not at the very top of that list. They have lots of specials to keep an eye out for, including lunch specials, late night deals, and daily specials for different offerings. There are also always seasonal specials of new things they are trying, so be sure to ask about those. The drink list isn't the most extensive one downtown, but it does offer a lot of beers on tap and they are usually a nice selection. Their house beers, the 3 Wise Men brand, are all solid selections, and they have been putting out some good seasonal recently. They also host a variety of different craft beers, as well as your standard everyday domestics. I would say beer prices here are on par or lower than most places, and their nightly drink specials certainly make it a good deal if you stick to those. This is a sports themed placed, and you certainly won't find a lack of TVs to watch whatever it is you are looking for. They usually have background music on, but for larger events it is common for them to put the TV sound through the speakers, which is much appreciated. I don't think I have ever had a complaint about service, but there have definitely been some times where I was very impressed on their wait staff, so they are above average in that category in my opinion. On top of that, it seems like the guy who owns the place is out doing a lot of good things for the community. They frequently have different drives to help donate to those in need, and focus on giving back. He also makes for an interesting twitter follow. They do lots of things for kids visiting their restaurants as well, by giving them toys or having a kids-eat-free day. I think they are definitely a positive business to have in this city.. The combination of great food, fun atmosphere, and impressive beers will certainly keep me coming back here.

Every time I visit Scotty's I receive an incredible amount of food with my entree and leave satisfied. I had the chicken avocado club the last time with Mac and cheese. The guacamole on the sandwich was awesome and the bacon was thick yet still crispy. Our server was friendly and quick with our requests. I give a 4/5 because it isn't a place that absolutely blows my mind or anything. It's good and priced just slightly high, but I never regret it.

My wife and I visited Scotty's Brewhouse, located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, just one block from Bankers Life Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Pacers. We started our lunch with an appetizer of Loaded Tater Tots, tots covered with melted cheddar cheese, bacon and sour cream. These tots were cooked just the way I like them, crispy and delicious. I ordered the Black & Blue salad with romaine instead of spring mix, Cajun steak, crumbled blue cheese, tomatoes and bacon. The chunky Cajun steak, spicy and packed with flavor, was the big draw for me. Dora here. I chose the Berry Spinach Salad from the new spring additions to their menu. I also opted for romaine over spring mix and asked for the grilled chicken add-on. This was a great choice! Candy pecans, blueberries, and strawberries with a tasty vinaigrette...delish! If we lived here, this would be my favorite place for salads! But their hamburgers looked yummy too! I would rate this restaurant 4 forks out of 5 for a family friendly restaurant serving great food. Dora here. Really, Ernie? I'd give it a 5, so how about we split it down the middle with a 4 1/2? :) Ernie & Dora Hiers, Fiction Faith & Foodies blog

Started our bachelorette party weekend at Scotty's! Went in around 9:30 on a Friday night, there was still lots of energy in the place. I ate the pork sandwich with mac & cheese on it (I forget the name) and it was AMAZING. Worth every calorie. They also serve HUGE mugs of beer and have a really nice beer selection to choose from. There are plenty of TVs if those in your group want to watch multiple sporting events - even TVs in the Women's restroom stalls which I found a bit excessive. Regardless, it's a great atmosphere and great food!

Scotty's is a typical American bar type of restaurant. Dim lighting, The neon glow from numerous alcohol signs and a tv to watch the game at every table and on the walls. Okay so that last part might not be typical and might be a draw but to me this takes away from good conversation. The service was alright. Can't complain but nothing to write home about. What I will write home about, or more accurately Yelp, is the pork tenderloin sandwich! This thing was twice the size of the bun provided and the garlic fries was the perfect compliment to the meal. I would recommend coming here for decent pub food with generous portions to keep you full and happily saturated with glorious calories.

Scotty's Brewhouse is a great hangout spot. Perfect for unwinding after a long day or kicking off the weekend. Visited Scotty's during a week long business trip to Indy. Had the beer flight, which was a great way to sample a few new beers with some very generous pours. Also had the pulled pork nachos, which was amazing. Love how they used potato chips instead of the more traditional tortilla chips for the nachos. Really added a new dimension to an old classic. Service was great. Our server was responsive and spent time building rapport, even though the place was pretty packed due to a convention being in town. If you're looking for a casual place to have a great meal and a couple of drinks with lots of interesting menu options, this is the place.

Are they trying to be tgifridays? I wanted to like this place. Couldn't do it. Sloppy service, overcooked burger, not good beer. Was so in need of a great middle priced meal and this was not it. Wasn't horrible but I expected more.

In my college days (a now fleeting memory) Scotty's was the go to place for just about any occasion: first date, mom and dad are in town, it's Tuesday, to watch the big game... Scotty's was the best option in town (Muncie). I was so excited when I moved downtown to be reunited with my "comfort food" and to once again chow down mo 'fo chicken, Shewman Burgers, dill chips and waffle fries. Let's back up to the Shewman burger. Peanut butter on a burger? I know it sounds crazy, but somehow the peanut butter meshes with the bed of jalapeños perfectly and the cheese and bacon; well, who doesn't love cheese and bacon on their burger? Its always a toss up for me between the Shewman and the mo' fo chicken wrap. I don't know what it is about this wrap, but I'm addicted to it. It's delicious. I always get the mild sauce; it is no weak sauce. It's a bold mild sauce. They have great lunch specials and generous portions.

My first visit to Scotty's started off with great service, a nice tv and fresh flower, on the table; beautifully simple setup. The sports bar feel was very casual but also welcoming. The food selection was large, although it was hard to decide I went with the "build-a-burger" option. The selections were plentiful and it even came with one side. The downfall was a simple salad was an additional dollar. However, after the food was served, the waiter was m.i.a. for the remainder of our stay. There was a long wait for the check and by the time the bill arrived, I lost my appetite for dessert (maybe it was a blessing). Either way, overall this place was pretty good and the first experience wasn't bad either. I would definitely recommend to friends. When its warmer, the fire pit outside looked like it could be inviting.

Not the kind of place I'll be a regular at, but it's fun to go to once in awhile. My favorite things about the place: - The ginormous (yes, that's a word in the dictionary) patio: a terrific place to hang out on a spring day, and the fire-pit/lounge area has a distinctly South Beach vibe. Just need a pool & it'd be party spot #1. - The draft beer selection: features lotsa choices, including local Sun King - OPTIONS! The menu is ginormous too, if a bit overwhelming. Decent vegetarian options, including burritos and black-bean burgers, both of which are great. The black-bean burger's cooked just right, unlike at many places where it's cooked to dry death. Also has a good spicy kick. - Water refills. The servers stopped by often to refill, something that's become more rare in Indy. However, the obnoxiously loud pop music could go and I wouldn't miss it. I might be a music snob, but if a place has annoying music at an annoyingly loud volume, I won't be back often or stay for long when I'm there. Service has been so-so at two recent visits. The first time, the server forgot her pen and had to come back out again to get our order after she thought she could remember it but couldn't. She forgot to place our appetizer order, which came out when our meal did, and she said we didn't have to pay for it but it was on the bill (in a rush, we didn't worry about having her take it off as we'd been waiting for awhile already.) The second server was better: fast, frequent and made no mistakes. But he wasn't friendly. Not rude, but not the kind of guy who makes you feel like he's glad you're leaving him a tip. Bottom line for this place: it's fun to visit every so often and has a lot to choose from. But I'm guessing that if you aren't a college-age youngster, you probably won't be back often. But I've been wrong before.

As a kid, I had this picture of heaven as a place filled with clouds and angels playing harps. As an adult, I've traded clouds for craft beer and angel wings for chicken wings. With that said, Scotty's needs a big sign that reads, "Welcome to Heaven!" A group of friends and I headed to Scotty's after soaking in an Indian's baseball game. I was expecting a mediocre dining experience, but I was in for a real treat when I experienced the boldest flavors to ever hit my tongue via boneless buffalo wings (we went for mofo mustard and spicy bbq!)!! I was so impressed with the food, I almost forgot to mention the great beer selections. While the bar does not boast an overwhelming amount of taps, they do have a great sample of some of the best beers the midwest has to offer. OH! and the icing on the cake....it was after 9, so the boneless wings were half off! WOAH! Cheers to you, Scotty's! Cheers to you!!!

Great food here. im in town for the indy 500 and i asked one of the guys who was working the front desk of the hotel i was staying in and he said this place was Good. so after a couple of trys of trying to find a place to park i got in and got a table within seconds and then the server was awesome. i had the very interesting shewman special burger and it was GOOOD! when i saw the burger and i read Peanut butter was on it i had to stop and look at it again and i just had to ask our server how was it and he said it was good but odd. the burger was very good with the odd combination of peanut butter and jalapenos but it was good. after the very good burger i had the peanut butter pie which was amazing! overall this place was great and i wished i had this place back in California

If you need to gain five pounds quickly, go here. It's kind of sad that "American (Traditional)" cuisine = fried, fattening appetizers followed by fried, fattening entrees, washed down with calorific drinks and finished off with sugar-bomb desserts. That said, Scotty's does this genre decently, adding unexpected twists like fried disks of dill pickle with horseradish. Their pub menu is expansive and even funny (they serve a school lunch meal on one of those plastic trays you remember from elementary). In case you had any doubts about your inevitable heart attack, you can add cheese and bacon bits to pretty much everything. I had a chipotle black bean burger, which pretty much tasted like the Morningstar patties I get in the freezer aisle. I was, however, impressed with the number of interesting microbrews they had on tap. The People's Pilgrim Porter (Lafayette, Ind.) I chose was the stand-out of my meal. I'd definitely go back for that alone. The dill pickles were a novelty, but way too salty and greasy. The atmosphere was your typical douche-y sports bar. Hey, sorry, to you folks who are into that. It's not my bag. I dislike TVs and certainly don't need EIGHT in my sightline to enjoy a beer and a meal. I know, I know, I should probably stay far away from places like Scotty's, but I live in Indianapolis and the pickings are slim. I do give Scotty's credit for the exciting beer selection, nice servers and their efforts to include a few decent veggie options on the menu.

That mo'fo' buffalo chicken wrap is no joke. Most restaurant's "hot" sauce is barely enough to make me yawn. Not the case here as the the heat from my first bite definitely got my attention. I was kinda bummed by the onion rings though as I was expecting the big, thick cut ones and got the little, thin cut ones.

Love the food, atmosphere & the staff; I just wish more parking was available.... When a facility that can accommodate 80+ people and located near 2 other establishments that are just as large (or larger) it helps to have an option for valet or a private lot. Both of which are NOT offered by Scotty's yet the other establishments DO offer valet.

Scotty's Brewhouse has a lot of great specials and deals but they always seem to be not valid when we pop in (it usually inadvertently is around Colts and Pacer games)! D'oh! That being said the menu is huge and there's always something tasty to grab in place of the specials. Some of the servers are kind of goofy but we keep coming back for the mofo sauce (their version of buffalo sauce)! I love the mofo mustard and they even bottle the mofo sauce! Yum! The Saturday/Sunday brunch is pretty good and they have a large selection of items (nothing too healthy though fitting in with the theme of good "American" cuisine). I'm a fan of the $6 lunch special including a drink and coming in on Mondays for $10 all you can eat wings. The beer selection is pretty good and they have a lot of really neat cocktails too. Pro tip: ask for the rotating tap selections if you're looking for a brew not listed on the menu.

This place is great because it stays open a little bit later then most places in the area. Got some food and a few beers late at night!
