Not sure how to provide a no-star review, but this place deserves it. You had to pay first before you could check out the food choices otherwise we would have been out in 10 seconds flat. I would not recommend this for buffet food on the southside. You'll have tastier food, in sight and taste, at Golden Corral. Every single food item looked old and not appealing to the eye. There was not one product I loved. I ate a salad, a small slab of sloppy meat loaf, and had a small dish of ice cream. You dined with plastic wear. You might as well use paper plates to go along with the horribly cheap tasting food. The cleanliness was questionable. There needs to be a remodel or something. Patrons had poor table manners. One child picked out food with a parent and stuck her fingers in the serving dish of sweet potatoes. Each one now had germy fingers deep inside for customers. Thankfully, I was warned by my party I had lunch with. I came out unsatisfied and I sincerely hoped I didn't get sick.

How much processed food can you eat at one time? Or, how long would you like to be in the bathroom crying? These are questions you should ask in the parking lot while you pray to your highest power before you fork over eight bucks. Not much to say here for this all American buffet you can be disgusted by the food or disgusteder by the sticky tables. I don't like to bash any place, because people gotta work. However, those same people also looked at me like I was a creep on a playground. I didn't mind being ignored when I needed a refill though because I can't drink a ton of orange juice anyway. The food was slightly...sickening and just not quite right.. A little too greasy, no taste, no flavor, too mushy. I thought my tastebuds died, and I had a huge head and stomach ache after eating breakfast items, and nachos. I decided to scratch that and go for a salad, and the dressing just fell short. All I can say is save your money for some other affordable place, if quick is what you want crud is what you might get.. What you should try: A baked potato and salad with oil. How to Make Ryan's Healthy: You don't have too many options here. Stick the salad bar and skip adding the meat it's not going to sit right with you. Enjoy!??

Is it possible to give less than one star? No? Bummer. We had 2 free dinner coupons that were due to expire so we thought -- why not? Man, oh man. If we had paid $11+ for this "food", I would have been even more upset. The place is downright dirty, grimy, and in desperate need of a deep deep scrubbing. I had to be conscious to NOT look down at the floor when I walked around to avoid thinking of how nasty the food prep areas could be if this was what the public could see. Ugh. I felt wasteful as everything I tried I would take a bite and then discard the rest. Even the lettuce for the salad had spoiled bits in it. How do you mess up a salad bar? We didn't know we had a server until almost the end of our visit. Other tables around us were greeted warmly and given baskets of fresh, warm bread with honey spread -- but not us. We had a 'receipt' on the table that showed our meals were comped, so maybe our server figured we would not tip at all. Not true. We *know* that tips are based on the actual check or what it would have totaled, not what we actually paid. Anyway. Let's just say we won't go back. Ever.

Several of us went there after a funeral. They were not expecting us but immediately let us into their private room and set about serving us. I was concerned because I'd read the awful reviews. It was nothing like them. The food I had and my wife had was good. Service was plentiful and friendly. I didn't hear anyone complaining about anything. Given my choice I'd go other places first but I wouldn't hesitate to go back there.

We went here with mediocre expectations. And even those were too much for this place to live up to. We went here because Ryan's emails me coupons about once a day. So we figured we'd give it a try. We arrived to an empty register. When the girl did come back she was nice enough. We sat in the back in a booth. The floors in this place are gross. I'm super shocked I didn't stick to the floor. And the ceiling is just as bad. The buffet wasn't terrible. But it wasn't good either. The mac n cheese was even bland. I will usually eat any form of Mac n cheese but even I couldn't eat it. The have things like meatloaf, fried fish, tacos, and soup. But it was all so bland. We were so disappointed we didn't even bother looking for dessert. That's how bad it was. We didn't even want cake!

This is one of the dirtiest looking places I've been in for years. They don't care what this place looks like! Last time I was there they didn't have anyone on the dessert station which means there was no desserts, even ice cream machine was empty. The Golden Corral is further away, but at least it has a selection and the price is affordable.

Oh My God. This is where tastebuds go to wither away and die. I could make a better meal out of the crumbs underneath my stove. The waitresses look two steps away from shooting themselves in the head, and look like they're killing themselves when they get you a refill. (If you can ever get one.) The decor probably looked dated in 1975. You can just feel the filth seeping out of everything. The ceiling is like 2 feet tall and feels like it's going to collapse on you any second. All the food looked like it had congealed into a lump of blandness 3 hours ago. Nothing had any taste or flavor whatsoever. Even the desserts tasted like nothing. The rolls were so hard I could have built a house with them. There isn't even really anything more to say about the food. It's just bland and sad. The price (for four with a coupon) for this "delectable" meal? FORTY SEVEN DOLLARS. No, just no.

After a year or so of being a decent place to eat. This place has gone right back down hill again. The food was horrible with a lot of it lukewarm food. The chicken was dried out. The beef was tough and lukewarm. The place was a dirty mess. Avoid!

::sigh:: If only I hadn't named my son Ryan. If only he didn't want to go here at least once a month because the restaurant shares his name. If only their food was half way decent. If only... I'm dragged to this place often. The food is always the same. Nasty. Old. Bland. The only decent thing is the mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken might be decent, I've just NEVER had it while it was still fresh. Also, I should add that I only go around 5:30-6:00 PM. Prime dinner time when everything should be fresh right? Wrong. The ham on the buffet is room temperature and they actually cut it from the whole ham. It makes me wonder just how long it's been sitting there...over FDA regulations timing I'd bet. I think the steak might come out in a rotation but it's fatty and I can't seem to ever spot an A-1 steak sauce bottle. My son on the other hand loves the mashed potatoes and gravy, fried okra, taco bar, and dessert bar (I'm sure you're just as surprised as I am about a 7 yr old loving a dessert bar?) although I'm not sure why he loves the taco bar since the soft taco shells are always hard. Now let's talk about the bathrooms! They are always filthy and I'm pretty sure someone constructed the walls wrong on the stall. There's no other explanation as to why you can see underneath them almost to the top of the toilet. I really dislike this place it was halfway decent at one time, a really long time ago.

I was craving breakfast bad. Its was late morning on a Sunday and IHOP was packed. Went to a few other places...they weren packed too. So I settled on Ryan. Ok breakfast. The service was bad and most people were looking at me like I didnt belong...but I stayed as I had work with me. The server was more concerned with her regular customers and didnt ask me about if I needed a drink or refill until I was almost done...an hour later. She just kept pass in by me. Decor is old and outdated. Food spread was great. Price was ok...just more than I expected to pay at IHOP or a local pancake house. I do not see myself going back for any reason at all. It served it purpose that day but was a bad way to end my craving.

When will I ever learn that there is no such thing as a good buffet in Indiana. We have good buffets down south but not here in Indianapolis. Well anyway we had to go to the south side of town anyway so I had a coupon for B1G1 free buffets at Ryans, so we went yesterday Sunday April 12th. Got there around 5pm. They were fairly busy. There was NOT a single fresh item on the buffet. I tried my best to pick around and find something that I could fill up on. Fried pork chops my favorite was so tough I could not even chew it. Fried chicken so dried out you could hardly identify it. All the side dishes were picked over and for the most part empty. I could have gotten past the fact that everything there had falled off the Sysco truck and was either canned or frozen but at least keep it fresh, hot and stocked. There was not one item on the buffet that was fresh or even luke warm. I brought this to my servers attention several times. The kitchen staff was rude and argumentative with her. They thought because the pan of chicken on the buffet was full, that it didn't matter that it was all dried out and old. Finally after I had eaten as much as I could stand she then comes out with some hot fried chicken out of the grease. But by then i was so full i could not eat it. So then she brought out the manager and he mumbled that he was sorry but didn't offer to do anything. I think he was the one arguing with her about cooking fresh chicken. they prepared these little mini skillets of stuff like pot roast with the potatoes and such in them. I saw the lady bring out a tray of those so i ran up and got one and it was ice cold. The only thing positive that i can say was the cheesecake dessert with the brownie in the top was so good. I had two. Sad when you go to a buffet and have to fill up on dinner rolls and dessert cups. The restaurant itself is old and run down and not sure how they could pass a health inspection. This place would be a better service as a parking lot or something. Avoid this place at all costs. what really blows my mind is they keep raising the prices at these places but could care less what the quality of food is they serve. I was sick on my stomach the rest of the night i might add. I would call their corporate offices but i am sure they don't care. We will never go back.

I was expecting great food since she said good things about the place. The service was poor and the food was utterly disgusting. The only thing good was their potatoes. The rest was pitifully pathetic! The rice was nothing but bland. The corn and carrots were mediocre and saturated in juices ( not very tasty juices). Everything looked like it was sitting out there for days. The rolls were stale and harder then my teethe. Refills came seldomly. The desserts were gross. The whip cream with oreos were bitter with a splash of sweetness. The ice cream was okay, but it melted very swiftly.Horrible experience. Bleh. You don't want to go!
