Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I love Qdoba and it is a chain...which I normally am not into, but the chicken queso burrito and breakfast burritos are outrageous! They also have a cool loyalty card, where you can accumulate points (I got my first free burrito last night)! The reason for the 3 star is because of accessibility issues. I live downtown in Fletcher Place and it is sometimes faster to go to the southport location because of parking issues downtown. Overall, the quality of the burrito is pretty legit and the service and staff are friendly! Plus, you get a great view of the monument from the restaurant if you eat outside.

If you've never eaten at Qdoba, you should make it your mission to have them make you a mission burrito. It's a big tortilla wrap full of all sorts of good things: rice, beans, meat, cheese, salsa, guacamole, and so on. Whether you're eating it there or taking it out, it's a great meal. Be sure you add queso and guacamole. Since they raised their prices across the board a few months back, they now offer these extras at "no added cost." So, since you're paying for them anyway, you might as well take advantage. Don't forget to join their frequent diner club, so every ten burritos or entrees gets you a free one. If burritos aren't your thing, you can order a number of other dishes made from the same basic ingredients--tacos, taco salad, "naked" burrito, nachos, and so on. They offer Wi-Fi via AT&T, and a fairly large area to sit down and eat, including outdoor seating. The weather's getting nice enough, you're probably going to want to take advantage of that. This Qdoba is in a very convenient downtown location, just south of the Circle. It's a constant temptation to stop in and get a burrito on my way home. Tasty food, decent price, what's not to like? My only real disappointment is that, unlike the Qdobas in my home town of Missouri, they don't offer margaritas.

Now here's the thing... I'm a pretty hardcare Chipotle fan, so it pained me to walk past Chipotle and around the corner to Qdoba. I still prefer Chipotle, but don't live near any Qdoba's anymore, so I had to go. I got there a little past 7pm on a Sunday and the place was pretty empty. It looked like there was only one person working there, so the line moved pretty slowly even though there were only a couple folks ahead of me. A pale scruffy looking man would pop in and out every now and then, but he didn't seem that interested in jumping in to help out. Keep getting them checks I suppose. While waiting in line, I noticed the place was a bit on the dirtier side. The kitchen was a bit of a mess with grubby counters, a sink full of dishes, and a grill splattered with charred remains. Then I noticed the actual food and it had that look that makes you wonder how long it's been sitting out. The few flies hovering around didn't inspire confidence either... But damn! The queso chicken burrito I had was actually quite tasty. In fact, and I'm a little embarrassed to say this, I came back the next day for lunch and tackled another queso burrito. Everything about my initial experience was telling me to turn around and run far away from this place, but at the end of the day, the food delivered and burritos don't lie. When you smother something with queso, it's almost impossible to go wrong.

Warning: This is a personal preference. I prefer... that other burrito joint. That said, Qdoba is fine. It is a nice alternative to "traditional fast food".

Pbbtbtbh. I'm mad because I was super hardcore craving Qdoba during class one day and on my way home I made a twenty-minute effort to find a parking spot downtown just to get to one. Got there at the end of the lunch crowd and the place was so packed I had to wait for a table. The guy making my food got my order wrong (chicken instead of steak) and the other guy down the line was stingy on the cheese. I asked for correction on both of these and they basically just shrugged and nothing happened. The chips were super stale too which made my craving very sad. The people eating inside were a little rude too, they all stared all the other tables down like it was some sort of turf war. Calm down, it's Qdoba. Hopefully my next venture will satisfy my craving and I won't be stared at the whole time.

Obviously this isn't the first time I have been to a Qdoba. This one was fine, the people were friendly, and the burrito was layered nicely. The rice was cooked fine and all the ingredients seemed fresh. They have one of the fancy soda machines where you can get different flavors in your drink, even diet drinks. I guess point off because they almost accidentally charged me for the guacamole even though it comes with the vegetarian burrito but when I mentioned it, he too it off the bill... after consulting with another worker. Also this particular location, although conveniently located, doesn't have a lot of seating so a lot of people get stuck without a seat during a busy time. And the bathroom doors were locked, I think you have to ask them to unlock it for you because people come in just to use the bathroom but it was so busy we felt uncomfortable asking so we just left.

I've hit this place a few times for lunch and it's always been spot on for taste and efficiency. Good fast food fast!

It's pretty sad when you don't have say your order and the staff just makes it for you. I need to diversify. Homeless guy is getting a free burrito from me today. He better be a Vet as he claims to be.

This place is disgusting. I was starving because for some reason nothing in Indy is open on Sunday. The ingredients look like cafeteria food. Expected it to be kind of awful but edible like similar "Mexican" chains. First bite was exactly that. Then I got down to the rice. The crunchy rice. Why was the rice crunchy? Salt. Yep. There was so much salt that even in a wet thing it was crunchy. You could see it. After spitting and gagging for about 10 minutes I dug out a couple inches of rice and tried again (starving remember). The salt was in all of it. Without any exaggeration I'd say there were 1.5 shakers worth of salt in my rice. Everyone, please salt your rice before cooking and never go to Qdoba. It's gross even without the salt.

Not as good as Chipole, but I like their queso burrito a lot. Pretty clean and one of the only places that still sells vanilla coke!

[ Visited in November, 2010 ] Nice staff and chain tex-kinda-mex. It knocked out my hunger for a decent price. Skip the Mexican gumbo, however.

I love their naked burritos. Get the vegiterian. Not to much to.say besides they are consistently yummy and filling.

One of my favorite places to eat downtown (I eat there every week). The lunch price is the what I would call normal for downtown (about $8 for entree and drink), and is a bargain for dinner. My favorite is the chicken nachos with black beans. Always plenty to eat.
