Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

i'm not going to lie... this is my most favorite restaurant in Indiana :). I grew up eating at this location, but have been a regular at all of them! Their house salad is the best salad on earth and i've never had a bad pasta dish or pizza. I force my friends to go to dinner here whenever i come back home to visit. The staff at this one, the one on the east side and in Fishers are all friendly and fast. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Indianapolis. I can only hope they move on up to Illinois

Gluten-free and Italian? I hoped one day to go to a place that doesn't have 1 or 2 choices and not feel out of place. Puccini's made that happen. They have gluten free pizza and pasta - which means you have about 20 choices you can make. I got the clam sauce pasta and the taste didn't miss a beat from regular pasta - in fact it may have been better. Even the server thought some of the gluten-free pastas were better than the regular ones. Plus he actually knew the menu! I got to taste their campfire pizza as well - excellent. Also their garlic bread was good (although not gluten-free.) I cannot stress how nice it was to go to a Italian restaurant and not have to feel weird about asking what is gluten-free. So Puccini's, you're good. Keep that smile up. You know what you're doing.

Puccini's is a great local chain that features some really amazing combinations of toppings on their pizzas. We ordered a King of Hearts and a Margherita pizza for carry out last week. The Margherita was tasty as always, but I was so glad we decided to try something new with the King of Hearts pizza - artichokes, mushrooms and bacon! Oh wow, this was delicious, crispy and plentiful bacon! Puccini's does not skimp on toppings. We ordered some salads as well, and I need to remember next time that each person probably doesn't need a whole carry out salad since they are huge! We had four of those big takeout styrofoam clamshells filled with salad greens, carrots, peppers, cheese and olives. The dressings are great! The Italian is my favorite; it is a nice classic olive oil, vinegar and herb blend. I've been here for lunch many times too! The lunch slice, salad and soda combo is great! We did have one slightly humorous moment; as we were walking out with our pizzas we thought we smelled fresh baked chocolate brownies. We thought maybe the nearby pancake house was baking something, but the aroma was definitely coming from our pizzas! I have no idea why the combination of those two pizzas smelled like brownies, but we all had a good laugh over that as we enjoyed our most definitely not brownie pizzas!

There would me more stars, but I've got to say, DO NOT ORDER THE BREADSTICKS. Talk about plain and dry. Absolutely no flavor. Pizza was great though.

In town for the weekend and really wanted take out. I got the vodka sauce on ziti with chicken. There was absolutely no flavor. It just tasted like burning. I was frustrated at first with the small portion but it didnt matter because i didnt want to eat it. The salad was mostly onions and peppers and the garlic bread was dripping Olive oil. My friend got veggie quatro formage and it had huge chunks of garlic and she couldnt eat it all. They also didnt give us utensiles so we had to get them from the hotel. However my boyfriend got a pizza and he said it was decent. So i guess they have that going for them.

I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars, but I'm giving it 4 based on service. It wasn't anyone's fault that I didn't care for my pizza (humble pie) but c'mon! Bagged salad? That's ridiculous. It was basically cheap iceberg lettuce with some cheese, black olives, onions and green peppers. Meh. I chose the veg lunch option, humble pie, and just didn't care for it. But, I didn't want to order a calzone because I had more errands to run and it was too warm to have leftovers safely in the car. Service was friendly and efficient. We were even offered to-go cups of pop. I just ordered the wrong thing.

Delicious fresh excellent prices -very simple informal layout In the restaurant but great for a relaxed bite

Puccini's makes me smile...get it?!?! I'm a big fan of their 'za -- my new love is the Ultimate Warrior. Fluffy crust, sausage, pepperoni, peppers, olives...mmmm! Can't speak for the in-house dining experience but I happily enjoy the delicious pizza pie at home :)
(4)Samantha P.
Really good pizza. That is the most important thing to know, right? Ok, here is some more info...Tons of topping choices, well topped and baked, crust is actually tasty and I don't mind eating it plain. [You know what I am talking about, when the crust just isn't worth those extra calories when it is just gross, won't have that problem here]. They have other stuff on the menu like pasta, salads, calzones, etc. I have been to Puccini's in many locations once in a while for a lot of my life but it had been quite some time since I had last been to one. We decided this was a good place to take my mom on mother's day that we didn't expect to be an hour wait [we got there early enough for no wait, yay!] One of the reasons my family loves this place? Pesto sauce and quality Italian sausage, it is just one of the best combinations ever. At my last visit, we also got a Hawaiian and it was excellent too! Inside is pretty boring and standard older pizza place feel, but who cares. Service was attentive and friendly. I am just sad we are already out of leftovers, I had forgotten how much I liked their pizza and will need to make more of an effort to eat here.
(4)Lauren S.
Ordered a large pepperoni and spinach pizza. It was to die for! My boyfriend and I both inhaled it. We will both return here very soon.
(5)Jessica B.
I've been eating at this location since high school, so about 15 years. When I was in high school, they used to pile the house salad with mozzarella, but now they seem to skimp. I miss that. Their homemade buttermilk herb dressing (this is what you get when you ask for ranch) is my personal favorite in Indy--Bazbeaux's creamy basil is a very close second. It's got a garlicky kick that will make your mouth do a little dance. Gourmet pizza isn't for everyone, but oh, it's for me. I actually prefer it just slightly to Bazbeaux, it's clear local rival. I like the slightly sweet dough and the use of fresh garlic and basil on some of the pies. The Razorback will kick your ass and take your name. It's got pepperoni, bacon, SMOKED sausage (yessss!), basil and garlic on it. It's the meat slice lunch special on Thursdays, so go get it, tiger. The pastas are decent, but nothing to write home about. You won't see me spit out a bowl of spaghetti, though. Try the diavolo--spicy.
(4)Gary T.
Best lunch spot in the north side. Friendly staff, quick service and excellent pizza! I'm a regular, and other than the occassional slow service due to an extraordinary lunch crowd, I have a hard time finding any complaint about Puccini's.
(5)Sarah K.
I've been going to Puccini's since I was in middle school. I didn't LOVE it back then but I did like the Greek salad they served there. Then I discovered their Campfire pizza. Now it's my favorite pizza, probably of all time. I can't get enough of it. i also really like their calzones and the Bar-20 pizza.
(5)Mia M.
Love, love, love Puccini's food. Their pizza - especially the Shrimp Santori, Bar 20, King of Hearts and Campfire - is delicious, fresh and innovative. Blows pretty much all other local pizza joints out of the water. I've been coming here since I was a wee little thing, and I am never disappointed. The staff leaves a little to be desired sometimes. I don't know that I've ever had the same server twice, and you'll never have the same server start to finish of your meal. It's a small price to pay for such fantastic food, though!
(4)nicole b.
I am from Indiana and as a result I love ranch dressing on my pizza. I also love ranch dressing on just about everything else. I can't help it, man, it's in my blood. I also like green olives on my pizza. Any pizza place that can provide these things for me is well on its way to being perfect as far as I am concerned. Puccinis provides delicious ranch sauce, green olives and has pretty much the best pizza in town. Their sauce is just really goddamn good and they aren't afraid to use it. When in Indy I prefer Puccini's for my simple pies and Bazbeaux for more complicated pizza. Now I know my palate is somewhat unsophisticated but I have been searching long and hard in New York and I have yet to find any pizza as good as Puccini's. I swear I am not making this up.
(5)Kelly M.
Gluten free pasta is good, but I am not sure that they are careful about contamination as I got a little sick. I did go back later in the month and had the gf pizza which is great! It has more flavor than other places. I may not trust the pasta, but the pizza is yummy.
(4)Stefan M.
Oh Puccinis...how I have missed thee... Puccinis is one of those placs that was at the top of my list of "places I couldnt wait to go to after moving back to Indy!" This place does it all right! The wifey and I went here on a late Friday night about an hour before closing. They were very accomadating and attentive...service 5 stars. We fell right back into our comfy Puccinis groove and ordered our favs. Wifeys=The fettucini with vodka sauce. This comes with their house salad and garlic bread. You might be asking "why are you talking about salad and garlic bread..who cares?" well I CARE. Their house salad is goo but is shortly turned from good to great with the addition of their house made buttermilk salad dressing. This is one of those items you will find yourself putting on and dipping everything in sight in...its awesome. And their garlic bread is from another world. If your entree does not come with the garlic bread, order it. Their vodka sauce isthe best vodka sauce I have ever had. I cannot say anymore. For me I went straight to my ususal. Their "Twiced Baked" pizza. Puccinis is the first place I ever saw do this style of pizza and I crave this regularly! It is their dough, topped with the aforementioned buttermilk dressing (in lieu of a tradtional red sauce) then gouda cheese, potatos (yes potatos)and bacon and green onions. basically a twiced baked potato on a pizza. those with fear of carbs beware but it is worth it. And make sure to order a size larger thatn you plan on eating...this pizza is amazing as left overs. They also have a killer beer and wine selection.
(5)Abigail P.
By far the best pizza in Indianapolis. You will never be disappointed with any pizza selection you make here. I am a pizza enthusiast having grown up making home made pizza from scratch with my family and perfected the dough by age 10. It's one dinner everyone can be involved in the design and everyone will enjoy the fruits of their labor. No matter your design requirements for that perfect pizza, Puccini's will satisfy your demands. The homemade pizza sauce is one I only wish I could recreate and have come close but nothing is better than the way they craft their pizza. Any salad or appetizer you order is always given to you with the freshest of ingredients and the best combination of dressings, seasonings, or dipping sauces. My boyfriend and I frequent often at this store, even though Greeks is closer, because no matter how close to closing time the same quality of food comes out of their kitchen ready for you to pick up. We have dined numerous times as well and no matter how busy they are we are met with smiles and quick service. I think the wait staff used to be ninjas in the past because they are stealth drink-refillers!
(5)Peter P.
Great weekday lunch deal. $7 for a slice of pizza, small salad, and drink.
(3)DeAnna P.
Fantastic lunch experience. Our server was quick and efficient, but never made us feel rushed. For about $7 you can get a slice (meat or veggie of the day), a side salad, and a drink. When I read side salad, I think lettuce, likely iceberg, and maybe a dash of cheese or carrot. This was a side salad on steroids. Mixed greens were topped with black olives, green peppers, tomatoes, cheese, and onions. All dressings are homemade. I loved the Caesar (and for a small upcharge, you can add anchovies, woo!). My mother had the Italian dressing and said it was also yummy. She is a devoted patron of one Italian restaurant in town, but she kept saying, "We will have to come back. I need to get your dad and come back!" The pizza was pretty perfect as well. Despite having pepperoni and sausage, it was minimally greasy. The meats were good, the cheese was good quality, and I loved the sauce. I thought the pizza was a bit undersalted, but Mom swears it was fine, my palate was just off from the Caesar dressing and crap ton of anchovies I had downed in Round 1. Go here, get pizza, be happy!
(4)Rachael L.
Freaking love this place. Surprisingly, I don't typically love pizza, but the Campfire speacialty pizza has converted me. Every ingredient just sings. The smoked sausage goes together soooo deliciously well with the onion marmalade! While I was sitting there trying to practice portion control, I decided to take a break from stuffing my face. I was thinking the only thing I dont get about this place is the name. Puccini is obviously an Italian name. Okay, that makes sense. But Smiling Teeth? I looked over at the wall and saw posters/art of faces with big smiles and big teeth. Then it clicked. Okay, this is so freaking good, if my teeth could smile they most certainly would with each bite. So, on that note I picked up another piece and started stuffing my face again:) Can't get enough!
(5)Chrissy A.
Place is great everytime. I got the shrimp pizza and it is to die for. The service is great Prices good. Top pizza place.
(5)Lexi A.
Puccini's was by far one of the best pizza/pasta places I have ever been to. The staff/service was incredible, the food was excellent, and the environment was very friendly and pleasant. I would definitely recommend Puccini's to anyone who has a love for Italian food, like myself. My friend and I were craving pasta and decided to try Puccini's. The outside of the restaurant was very clean and inviting. When we walked in we were greeted by a very pleasant host/waitress who sat at us at a table that was very clean and set up with silver wear and plates. It was very obvious that the cleanliness and appearance of the restaurant was important to the staff. The floors were swept and presentable and there wasn't a dirty table in sight. The employees were also keeping busy and working to make sure the kitchen and dining room was clean. A very friendly waitress walked up and greeted herself, she looked very happy to be there and seemed to really enjoy her job. She immediately told us her recommendations and explained the items on the menu and answered our questions with no hesitation. She was very happy to be helping us. I ordered fettuccini alfredo while my friend ordered spaghetti. Both meals came with salads and amazing breadsticks. The salads were incredible and very presentable. The breadsticks were warm and fresh and probably one of my favorite parts of the meal. Our meals were given to us in a very timely manner, it did not take long at all for us to receive our meals. In fact, we were quite surprised with how fast our food was placed on the table. The server asked if we needed anything else and if the food looked good. She seemed very concerned with our opinions and experience. Throughout the meal the server continued to check on us to make sure everything was tasting okay and to make sure we were enjoying our experience. There was never a moment when my friend or myself needed a refill due to the excellent service and the staff making sure we were never in need of anything. The manager even walked over to check and make sure all was well and that our server was taking good care of us. We obviously told him the service was amazing along with the food. The waitress later on brought us our bill without us having to ask along with boxes because she was aware that we were going to need a few for our left overs. What pleasantly surprised me was the fact that the server had voluntarily added a coupon on to our bill, I wasn't even aware that they had any coupons! This was great! The service was perfect and I do not have a complaint in the world. The environment, friendly staff, and cleanliness was to perfection. It was very apparent that this restaurant took pride in its appearance, family-friendly atmosphere, and excellent service. The only minor concern in this restaurant was how close the tables were together. It became kind of hard to hear my friend once the store became busier due to the short distance between all the tables. It became a little too noisy and we could hear the conversations of other guests very well. The music was also a bit too loud and added to the distractions and the inability to hear my friend well. Overall, my experience at Puccini's was amazing. The staff and service was some of the best I have ever received and the food was probably the best pasta I have ever had. The environment was extremely family-friendly and the dining room and the kitchen (as far as I could tell) was extremely clean. It was very prevalent that the staff and management takes great pride in the service and appearance of the restaurant. The menu had so many different options and was very diverse to fit many different types of preferences. Lower the music volume and space the tables a bit more and you have yourself a perfect restaurant! I would recommend this restaurant to anybody!

I lived in Indy a long time ago (7 years ago) and upon coming back into town on travel I was delighted this restaurant was still open and thriving. Before, as with my experience last night, I was thrilled with the service, the food, and the atmosphere. I ordered a calzone, as did my husband. My son is 10 months and we got him a small cheese/cracker plate. For $20, I was very satisfied and happy to get my fix.
(5)Jamie P.
My favorite pizza! Get the Campfire pizza and a BBQ chicken salad, mmm. Their herb ranch is also amazing
(5)Alex H.
Had the calzone for lunch during the week on a Friday....Service was slow but they were very busy. Seems like a lot of non working people there for lunch so they were in no rush. Calzone was very good.
(4)Sarah M.
Love their BLT pizza, its awesome! I go here for takeout at least once a month. Always fast and friendly service. The only this that sucks is their only open until like 9pm during the week, we are late eaters.
(5)Alicia R.
Have to weigh in on menu items other than pizza, as we usually don't order pizza here, though we like it...The dinners come with toasty, buttery garlic bread and a huge side salad. Dressings are all house made and really good. The shrimp Santa Cruz has a really interesting sweet, smoky flavor. The baked pastas are rich and delicious, and the two low carb chicken dishes are very cheesy and satisfying. Love the calzones, and don't think you can find better in Indy. We noted last visit that Puccini's is also a really good value. Great meals for the price!!
(5)Jennifer M.
Worst service ever!! This blows me away since I love this place - I mean their food is top notch every time. Had the campfire pizza and blue cheese wedge - amazing. That wedge is the best in the city. With that said, we had a large party and waited to be seated - okay expected and no fault of theirs. But once we sat - 10 min before anyone even came over to our table. We ordered - they forgot to bring one of the kids meals, delivered pizza but no plates, never had a refill on drinks. Our salads sat for - I timed it - 5 min before - our tall stoic red headed waiter bothered to stop chatting with his friends at a table and acknowledge our food. Even then he had someone else bring it over. Here's the deal Puccini's - I love your food but I'm not paying for crappy service - straighten it out or we are breaking up!!
(2)Aaron F.
This is going to sound like an exaggeration, but Puccini's is quite simply the best Pizza I've had in the world. To put that into context, I currently live in NYC and have gormandized the cheesy-marinara pie in the following notable locals: New York, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, London, Berlin, Montreal, Tel Aviv, Budapest, Prague, Hong Kong, Saigon, Singapore, Bangkok. I have a feeling that unless the Italian contenders exceed the hype, Puccini's Smiling Teeth is the undisputed champ. Equally impressive is their lunch salad with buttermilk herb dressing (see:ranch). Straight fire.
(5)Debi U.
I have been coming to this location since I first became aware of this place in 1992. My favorite food is the BBQ chicken salad with the garlic cheese bread. The only thing I do not like is, that they won't expand their delivery area down to 86th and Michigan Rd.
(4)L T.
Very good. I ordered the chicken marsala, ceasar salad and 5 layer chocolate cake for delivery. They said it would be about 45 minutes when I placed the order, but they came in about half that time, and the food was good... I should have ordered pasta for the chicken marsala or something but all the food that I did order I was very pleased with. They were also very professional over the phone, I do appreciate that. Too bad they dont deliver wine ;-) lol... I will be ordering again in the near future.
(4)Krista R.
Pretty much once a month (or more) I crave pizza that I am either too lazy or too unskilled to make. I love making my own basil/mozzarella/red sauce pizza...but sometimes I want a pie that has a little flair. There's newer pizza places in Indy and Carmel that someday I just might try...but for now, I'm perfectly content with Puccini's down the street. When we go, it's always busy (dine in and carry out) but the staff never seems frazzled. Their newish bleu cheese wedge is fabulous, they have an ok beer/wine menu, and though we've never had their pastas...they look incredible. As for pizzas, we pretty consistently order the Campfire (onion marmalade -- I could drink you), but the Veg Head is yummy, too! They have calzones and a daily lunch special.
(4)Chris S.
I love this place. Home made salad dressings are the best. Definitely get a Greek salad no matter what
(5)Elijah B.
Really good pizza. There is a pizza for everyone. I love that you can get half of one type of pizza and half of another. Highly recommend it.
(4)Kristy K.
I do love this place if only for their lunch specials and the calzones. The excellent lunch specials include a slice (they always have a vege option and a meat option), a salad and a drink...all for about $7! Extra slices are available. They have a huge variety of specialty vegetarian pies, which I prefer. The humble pie (served on Friday's lunch) is my absolute favorite -- sun dried tomatoes, basil, garlic, and yum! The calzones are out of this world. Sweet dough, stuffed to the brim with delicious ingredients like chicken, cheese, goat cheese, vegetables, meats -- there is something for everyone! Keep in mind that they do close from 2-4:30 pm during the week, which can be a bit of a downer if you're looking for a late lunch and why I give them four stars. Simply because this is inconvenient from time to time, not because their food or service is lacking.
(4)Vladimir K.
I got a pizza and a salad for take-out. I asked for parmesan and red pepper, but of course they neglected to put these in the bag and without them the pizza was very bland, reminded me of Papa Johns. The salad was a salad. Meh, I've experienced better pretty much sums it up.
(2)Ian C.
I've been coming to Puccini's since I was about 6 or 7. It's always been consistent and delicious, and it has some of my favorite "gourmet" pizza in town. The food is always excellent - I usually go for the Campfire pizza. Andouille sausage, gorgonzola cheese, and a delicious sweet onion marmalade instead of your run of the mill red sauce. They also have fantastic salads, but don't order one thinking you can polish it off like an appetizer - they're freaking HUGE. The blue cheese wedge salad with bacon is great, just make sure you have a friend you can share it with. They do go a little overboard with the blue cheese though - the wedge was absolutely swimming in it the last time I had it. They have a small selection of local beers, I usually get myself a nice frosty pint of Sun King Osiris to go with my dinner. The atmosphere is great - it's usually fairly quiet, and the tables have those lovely kitschy-classy red and white checked table cloths. They still have some funky paintings on the wall that scream early 90's, but they've been up for so long that I couldn't imagine anything else. I've never had a bad experience here - the few nitpicks I could offer (salads too large, booth space is slightly cramped) don't do anything to detract from a five star rating. Puccini's is just good, solid Italian.
(5)April S.
Traveling from out of town and yelped a restaurant. Decided on this gem and can't wait for next year's trip to Indy as we will be eating here again. The food is delicious..the service is wonderful..the bread is divine. We are indeed leaving with SMILING TEETH. Yum Yum.
(5)Marianne L.
We go here to get pizza probably once a week. Yeah, it's that good - ingredients seem zestier and better tasting for some reason than the pizza chains, and well...the people recognize us (I guess it's not that hard if you come that often). Definitely recommend coming here for delicious pizza! :)
(4)Shani J.
This is a favorite pizza spot for my daughter and I. I always get the Campfire - yummy! I also brought a pan of lasagna to a pitch-in that received rave reviews!
(4)Chris S.
First time at Puccini's. Started off with the Scamorza for an appetizer. OUTSTANDING! It's melted, smoked mozzarella, tomato and herbs with toast for dipping. Had their signature Campfire pizza. Ridiculous! This had smoked sausage, sweet onion marmalade (which made this pizza truly awesome), a touch of Gorgonzola and fresh rosemary. Very relaxed atmosphere with the smell of an Italian kitchen when you approached the door. Tables were covered with the old Italian red and white checked cloth. The dining room and kitchen were clean from what I could see. The only draw back from this was the public restrooms could use some work. I would definitely recommend it. I know I'll be back.
(4)Lebeth Z.
Campfire pizza was delicious! We will definitely be back.
(5)Dawn T.
Bacon Gouda, yum! I really love pizza and Puccini's has very good pizza. I mostly go for lunch. The lunch special of a slice, a salad, and a drink is a pretty good value, and the slice is a good size. The salad isn't anything special, but it is a decent side salad and you at least feel like you ate your veggies. My favorite slices of the day are the bacon gouda and the razorback.
(4)Glenn W.
We've always had great food here. My wife and I share the wedge salad as it's very big. Our food has always been great and the wait staff helpful. Hope you have the same experience.
(5)K Y.
Great food. Would give more stars but the service is inexperienced and a bit unprofessional. Don't try to rush your customers out the door as soon as they sit.
(3)Sara V.
This was probably the worst pizza experience I have ever had. We live in Cincinnati, so fortunately, they will never get a second chance from my family. First of all, the pizza took 90 minutes to get to our room, even though I was told it would take "no more than an hour". One hour after I ordered, I got a call from the delivery driver. They do not sell Sprite, even though it was on the menu. I asked for three root beers instead, and was told that the pizza was on its way. 90 minutes later, I called to find out where my stupid pizza was. I was told that it would be there within 5 minutes, and it was. When the driver arrived at my hotel, he called and asked for my room number & to tell me that he had dropped 2 of my root beers on the ground & I could only have one. I asked for a refund for those drinks. Later, the lady at the front desk told me that the driver had shattered the bottles in the driveway, and left the glass where it fell! I was given $5 to cover the cost of the root beers, and given one room temperature bottle. I thought the drinks would be cold...? The pizzas and breadsticks were not hot. In fact, they were pretty much cold. I assumed the pizza would be hot....? The taste was okay, but nothing to rave about. Then again, maybe it tasted okay because we were starving by this time!! I called the manager & told them about my worst pizza experience ever, and he apologized several times and told me that "Sometimes this happens". Well, thank goodness it will never happen to us again! I would pay YOU to never give Puccini's another dollar! And to top it all off, the price was ridiculous - $33 for one small cheese pizza, one medium 4-topping, three breadsticks, 1 root beer, and 2 shattered bottles.

This place to me feels like a classic lunch place. Pizza by the slice, cool lunch atmosphere, great quick apps, etc. I feel like they had fast service without feeling rushed and had good lunch priced options. They have very "classic" pizzas and menu options. I would highly recommend the garlic cheese bread. The pizza was good but not great, which is why this place gets 3 and not 4 stars. I wouldn't complain about it at all, but I wouldn't go back if I personally were craving pizza. It does make a great place to grab lunch though and that I how I will be visiting this restaurant in the future, as a good place to grab lunch with some work guys.

I was driving the family on 86th street tonight, when they decided to have a pizza. We stopped at Puccini's, and what a mistake it was. Let me start with the good - the kids who were running the place were all very nice. But that is about all that one can say positively about this place. Now to the bad - the food. The worst were the pizza and calzone, which were both not fully baked. No wonder we were scraping the toppings and refused to eat the actual slices. The calzone was chopped to bits, looking for a piece that could be eaten, then abandoned. The salad and bread sticks tasted, well, "cheap". This would explain why the prices here are relatively inexpensive. Not because this place is a great bargain, but because one gets one's money worth. As we left, I took a closer look at the kitchen. It says it all. The place looked like an assembly line, like an airport food outlet. Do they even cook anything there, or just grill/heat and pull together items that come from a central kitchen? A pile of bread slices, all wrapped in plastic, was just opened to prepare "fresh" garlic bread. Bottom line: I'll refuse to go to Puccini's in the future. Last thought. I actually spent the time to read previous reviews, to understand how a place like this can actually be in business. Some of the reviews were shockingly supportive. Perhaps the lesson here is to ignore Yelp ratings of less than 300 reviews, at least. Or just admit that Yelp may be entertaining, but a bad resource to pick your next restaurant reservation.

Great service. Sometimes kids scare me.....but the kids are all right here. They've ditched their old beer selection and gone to a locals only variety. How you gonna hate on that? The pizza is always solid.....perhaps one could argue that the crust is oily.....not quite as light as Some Guys or Baz. But I still like it. Salads are awesome. Home made dressing is awesomer. Decor...maybe its time to redecorate....or maybe just leave it until it becomes iconic and timeless. Never had a bad meal for Puccini's or bad service.......and with the improved beer selection it's gonna be hard to keep me away.

YUMMY! I love little hidden gem Italian places. Puccini's service is always stellar. The food is so amazing. I have two all time favorites 1. Cheese ravioli, they are round and pillowly and just my dream ravioli 2. Chicken Marsala, SO good. Cooked with red potatoes and the sauce is a Little sweet - DElish!

We ordered this meal for delivery and I have to say the delivery service is A+. We got our food within 30 minutes, excellent. The food was a mixed bag. The Greek salad I got was good, average size and lots of ingredients. The garlic cheese bread was flavorless and soggy. That was sad because I love cheesy garlic bread. The pizza was good, but not near as good as Bazbeaux. It was a pepperoni and salami pizza and the toppings were decent but they should have cut the salami into quarters because each salami slice was 4" across. The crust was a little soggy as well. I would go back, but only if I was trapped at work like I was this time as it still beats the chain pizza places.

Oh Puccini's, how I miss you! This place (and its sister franchise Bucceto's in Bloomington) is one of my favorites for gourmet style pizza in Indy. Especially because most of them I can't figure out how to make at home! Choosing between Twice Baked, The Bar 20, Campfire (you can actually taste the smoke!), Sweet Lil' Razorback, Humble Pie, Margherita, and Paparazzi is a near impossible task. I prefer, therefore, to go with a group and get a good mix so I can have it all. The only thing I would say is that their prices could be a little more competitive, but they do well, so I don't think that those are going to change anytime soon. Puccini's, please consider expanding to the east coast. I miss you!

I'm in Indy on business and I ordered a tasty Napoli calzone from Puccini's for a night of working in the hotel tonight. The crust was cooked perfectly, and the filling was delicious. It even came with a side of homemade marinara, which I also devoured. Oh, and I topped it off with a slice of their rich chocolate cake. A+.

Parents are still talking about the pizza at Puccini's after eating there on Saturday night, so I guess that makes it a good meal! We had their house salads to start and they were really good- and if you get the dinner sized portion, it can feed two people. I had a small Veg-Head pizza, which was loaded down with delicious veggies and had the right amount of sauce to cheese ratio for me (meaning not a lot of either). My parents split the Sweet Lil' Razorback, which as the name implies, is a pig lover's paradise with pepperoni, sausage and bacon. Oink oink indeed! It was enough food for dinner and leftovers and the prices are pretty reasonable. Add to it the fact that it's a quick 5 minute drive from my house and parking is plentiful, makes it on my short list of Indy places I'll return to.

My husband recommended this pizza late one evening...I had two bites and preferred to remain hungry. I'm not a fan of chain pizzeria's but that night I preferred a chain to Puccini's. I was very disappointed as I had heard great things about the pizza. The dough was tough and sweet, the pepperoni lacked zest, the sauce was virtually non-existant (and sweet), the salad was pathetic, and the cheese bread left MUCH to be desired. I certainly hope that Puccini's was having a bad day; regardless I have little motivation to give them a second chance.

Nice place -- the pasta is okay along with everything that isnt pizza. LOL. I love my lean machine or shrimp santori pizza's though.

Kristy's right ... almost. Bazbeaux is still my favorite, but Puccini's is a very close second, and probably a little better if you want a basic sausage mushroom pepperoni type pizza. There's a couple of Puccini's throughout the region, but this one's the best in my experience.
