Ocean Prime Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

  • Kala S.

Visited Ocean Prime for the Northside Nights Indy menu and I ordered the House Salad, Teriyaki Salmon, and the Carrot Cake. All of it was delicious. The salmon was perfect in my opinion. We also ordered the Calamari which I was told was fantastic but I was not extremely impressed it was just OK. I feel as though I have had better calamari elsewhere. The service to me was just ok. Seems like my server may have been having a bad night. He was very knowledgeable but seemed annoyed at the questions about their standard menu. The restaurant itself was beautiful. I felt like it was spaced appropriately and that no one was very close to another.

Great happy hour find on a Friday night. Small plates were half price. The Kobe sliders and calamari were our favs. Plus a live jazz duo! Cool design of the lounge, we will be back!

My friend and I were looking for a nice place to celebrate belated birthdays! This was an excellent choice. It was my first time there. Our waiter was awesome and did a great job of explaining the menu and making recommendations. Every course was delicious and I can't wait to go back!

The service was outstanding. The drinks were very expensive, and they forgot my wifes sea bass entirely. My friends steak was undercooked. The cheddar fondue is by far the best thing on their menu. After that first experience we decided to give them a second chance. The bar outside is top notch. It has a great atmosphere for lounging around. I had lobster which was fine. Again my friends steak was undercooked, and my wifes food was mediochre. There are many better fits in this city for a five star rating. Definately considering $14 cocktails

The place itself is laid out nicely. Plenty of space for groups, so if you have a large party that's looking for a upper shelf surf and turf place, give this place a go. We opted for bar seating, as we just wanted a couple a cocktails, and apps. I'm not sure about Saturday nights, but on Friday nights there's a piano player/lounge singer in the bar, and it's pretty lively, and fun. We each had a couple cocktails to start with. Nothing out of the ordinary, just good martini's. And they were indeed good, and tasty. She had the crab legs (she asked for them to be steamed as the menu states they are served chilled), of course they were happy to oblige and they were tasty, and succulent. She also had the crab bisque. Also, incredibly tasty. For desert, she got the peanut butter pie. I thought, "how good can PB pie be for $9.00"? Yeah,...it's that good. Looked like a giant cupcake, filled full of PB goodness....can't go wrong with that. On to mine, meh...I'm a bit of a oyster snob, so I didn't go to OP with high hopes of great oysters, and I'm glad I didn't. I got a dozen, and they were OK. I probably wouldn't get them again next time. I also got the crab cocktail. I was also...meh about this. The crab was actually kinda tasteless. We didn't get dinner, but those around us who did it did look good. Good looking steaks, and lobster. It's a mixed crowd, but not too mixed. So don't be one of those "I'm wearin' my ball cap to dinner" people. It's not Oceanaire, but it's not Red Lobster either, so take some couth with you please... Even though we were 50/50 on the food, we really liked this place. Great atmosphere, even better staff, and oh yeah, popcorn with I'm guessing truffle butter? IDK but man is it good!.

Top notch service and food. We were eating from the Northside nights menu. This was a three course meal for $35. We also added an appetizer of shrimp cocktail, $16. The shrimp cocktail rivals others because if the mere massiveness of the shrimp. Cocktail sauce was spicy but not overwhelming. The shrimp cocktail came out in dry ice, very cool presentation. We also had the French onion soup. It was wonderful. I had the filet and my wife had the crab cakes. You can't go wrong with either one. Both were tasty. For dessert go with the carrot cake. It was mound of goodness. Service was excellent. We weren't bugged, but we were taken care of during all aspects of dinner.

Shared the Filet & Sea Bass with my fiancé, which they split into 2 plates for us. Both dishes were excellent . Impressed by the option of some dressed up tater tots as a side. Wine selection was is well placed & half off on Thursdays. Also fantastic guitar player/singer at a purposefully appropriate volume. Outstanding service from Brian, the bartender on the back patio. He alone would make us want to come back! We dine out often at all varieties of restaurant models around the Midwest. We will absolutely be coming back to this place!

I was so disappointed. I had looked forward to scallops all week, knowing I was going to Ocean Prime. They were rubbery and inedible. I had to send them back. I'll have to think long and hard before I go back.

I'll be honest: I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants...I'll go as far as saying I'm anti-chain...so when I was asked to double date at Ocean Prime. I gulped and croaked a tiny "sure". I was not looking forward to this meal out. Walking in, I immediately noticed how fancy it looked on the inside, but I wasn't going to be fooled by the decor. It could be masking some awful seafood. The menu has a Ruth's Chris feel to it. You order your protein and sides separately. I was surprised at the number of options I had for both, and, dare I say, they sounded delicious? I had the Filet Mignon with a maytag blue-cheese crust, and my date order the Chilean Sea Bass. These two dishes alone changed the way I feel about these chains. WOW. Wonderfully prepared, exceptional quality... Between that and the shareable sides, I really, really enjoyed my dinner. I can confidently say that I would come here again and even bring some meat and seafood-loving friends on a special occasion.

This review is purely for the happy hour at the bar. We came on a Thursday and sat in the comfy couches surrounding the bar area of Ocean Prime. The 4 of us there ordered 2 bottles of wine (they are 50% off on Thursdays) and a few appetizers. We ordered the Truffle Fries, Calamari, Deviled Eggs and Goat Cheese Ravioli along with dessert at the end. You also receive complementary truffle popcorn to munch on. First of all, I could come for the popcorn alone, it is addictive and delicious!! The service was excellent as I would expect at a place like this so I don't really need to delve deeper into that aspect. The food was just OK. Keep in mind these are just appetizers so I can't rate entrees, but as far as the appetizers go....I guess I was expecting more. The truffle fries were big chunky fries that seemed fresh cut (think Penn station just bigger) and they had sea salt and truffle oil on them. They were boring, but then again...they were fries. I'd pass on this one for $6 Calamari was a stand out for me. The calamari tasted great and was not rubbery as it was fried for just the right amount of time. Ocean prime puts a hot & sweet chili sauce on them which gives them great flavor, but changes them from the traditional calamari experience you may expect. Personally I loved them, but my girlfriend did not care for them. The deviled eggs were exactly that. Again, for $6, not worth it. The biggest disappointment was the ravioli. I want to be real careful how dramatic I make this, but it was rather the quantity not the quality that I was disappointed with. There were 3 raviolis around the plate with goat cheese in the middle. We couldn't even split it 4 ways by giving everyone a single ravioli! I was really shocked that for (I think $9) we got 3 normal size ravioli with about a heaping tablespoon of goat cheese in the middle. That being said, they were VERY good....which further made you upset that they were gone before they started. Once again, the value isn't quite there. Last but not last, the Carrot Cake. This was massive and easily shared by 4 people. It was over a foot tall, cut in a 4x4 inch square with layer after layer of carrot/icing, carrot/icing type of setup. Very very good if you like a sweeter style carrot cake as there was a ton of icing. Would I be back? Sure! I'd like to come back for a full meal and re-review this place to either add a star or remove a star.

Came here for a birthday dinner, and both of us love seafood so we were excited to dine here. Appetizer= Crab Cake: very tasty, but there was only one which made me feel short-changed for the price, but whatever, I'll live. Main Course= 1) Sea Bass: divine! Very light, fluffy, and flavorful. I've never had sea bass before so I didn't know what to expect, but I thought the dish was really good. 2) Halibut: This is my favorite fish (which I thoroughly enjoyed while visiting Alaska). I had high expectations, and thought it was just a-OK. The lobster gnocchi it came with was yummy though. I thought the sea bass dish was better. Dessert= creme brulee. I was very underwhelmed. It was cute that they wrote "Happy Birthday" on the plate though. Service was IMPECCABLE. Our waiter knew everything on the menu in detail and was very professional and informative. Based on our wine tastes he also picked out the perfect red wine for us to enjoy, which we LOVED. Love the decor of this place as well. This restaurant is an up-scale restaurant with an up-scale price tag attached. I don't think it's worth the $, and I think there are other up-scale restaurants in Indy worth going to instead. I still gave it 4-stars though because I thought the quality of the food was divine, and overall everything did taste great. If you appreciate great seafood, come here. I hear their steaks are amazing as well, and I wish I got that.

This moderately sized chain comes from good pedigree in the Cameron Mitchell tradition. We found it to be a great value: price-wise. Nice upscale atmosphere without being stuffy. I'd call it "Viagra Central" with lots of older dudes with money, flaunting exotic rides and bimbos with fake tits. Seriously. Food and drink less expensive than the Smith and Wollensky/Capital Grille clan. Entertaining people watching, but no way my "go to" steakhouse.

My wife and I have been here three times in the past yr and 1/2. We love NY steak so that is what we ordered each..fantastic strip sirloin time..perfectly cooked and of the highest quality. Shrimp cocktail was amazing..large firm shrimp...the best ever For our anniversary we were served a complimentary glass of sparkling We are also big fans of Sullivan's and Ruth Chris's but Ocean Prime is the BEST

This is our special occasion place. We really love this place. The portions are huge and we have always have great service from Angela. We always sit in Angela's section in the bar. The decor is beautiful and romantic. They really go all out for your special occasion. All the food is really good. I wish we could eat here more often. I would pick this over Harry & Izzy, Ruth Chris, or Flemings. The steak and sides (mac&cheese, cream spinach, twice baked potatoe). The salads are delicious and so is the dessert menu.

What a wonderful experience!!! Which I would expect nothing less for the price. We made our reservations through Opentable and they were running a little behind but they were very attentive in giving us updates and different options. We started with some amazing cocktails, although a little pricey. They were ranging between 10-15 dollars a drink. I got a bubbles and berries drink which was a great experience. It was a martini glass with dry ice, berries, and liquor that literally fogged up and made bubbles. It was a fun experience... Can't say I would order it again though. I ordered their calamari which was great, it came with a spicy asian sauce and cashews. Then we ordered our meals, I had scallops and risotto which was okay but my husband ordered their steak with shrimp scampi and it was phenomenal!!!! This was a wonderful date night and would be perfect for a special occasion but very pricey for just a normal night out.

This is our favorite Friday night date place. We like to sit at the bar, have a few drinks, and share some appetizers. There are two bars available. The bar up front is classy and quiet. It offers an ability to talk and de-stress from the week. The bar in the back is loud with a party atmosphere. We prefer the quiet atmosphere up front. The bar staff are very friendly and make sure your glass never goes empty. They have a fantastic selection of liquors and their selection of single malt scotches can't be beat. I will say their pours of "on the rocks" drinks are a little on the stingy side but you can't have everything. Their tuna tartare is the best in town. I've tried to recreate it and am still trying to get the ginger ponzu sauce right. They have a good selection of appetizer/small plates good for sharing. Their seafood and steaks are done extremely well. This is a pricy place so don't go there expecting a DEAL. But you get what you pay for. I've never been disappointed.

We had a party of 10. The customer service was outstanding. The princess cut fillet (8 oz), bone in ribeye, sides and wine was perfect for the wife and I. Spent the evening laughing, telling stories and eating well.

Ocean Prime was a nice, solid meal to end 2013 with. We started with some cocktails in the bar while waiting for a table, and they were very good gin & tonics. We were seated and presented with bread and also ordered the tuna tartare appetizer which was very good. It had avocado and crispy wonton strips in it, and all together it was great. Next, we ordered up another round of cocktails, and I tried their Bubbles and Berries and my fiance tried the Moscow Mule. We both really enjoyed our drinks. The Bubbles and Berries is very cool with dry ice, Grand Marnier marinated berries, and prosecco. The Moscow Mule was served in a copper mug and it was very good. Our meals were also good. He got the teriyaki salmon, while I tried to Surf n Turf special, which was a filet with a lobster tail and a saffron cream sauce. Both entrees were pretty good, and fit the bill for our NYE dinner. We tried a side of the jalapeño gratin, which was awesome, but unfortunately when our waiter took it away to pack u, he never brought it back. Womp womp. I think this is a good spot for a nice dinner, but depending on if you are looking for sea food or steak, Indy has a few other place that would come to mind first..

My last wave of 'new hires' to my sales team was in town and I needed a location for the new group. I selected Ocean Prime for proximity to their hotel and opted on a prix fix menus ($75/plate). We started with apps of Somoa Goat Cheese ravioli, Point Judith Calamari (nothing special) and Crab Cakes, which were served with a nothing short of mouth watering. Our entree selections included a filet, scallops or Miller Farms Amish Chicken. My scallops were tender and and ample in size. I was very pleased with my selection, as I looked at the filet on my neighbor's plate. She shared her roasted garlic with me, and secured my safe ward of any vampires over Halloween, as it melted in my mouth. Our desserts came and we all shared bites from one anothers' plates. My favorite was the 10 layer carrot cake that came with cream cheese icing, pineapple syrup and whipped cream. DO NOT PASS on this. Seriously. Order it To Go if you must. It's even better for breakfast! Overall, we had a wonderful experience in an intimate private setting. OPs attentive staff made it easy for me to get to know my new team and allowed me to sit back and enjoy the evening. The atmosphere is upscale and classy. Despite it being a chain restaurant, I would definitely recommend it to anyone to take a client, a special date or to meet a friend for a cocktail.

This is one of my favorite places to select for a large party (10 or more) for dinner. The menu selections are incredible and the preparation and presentation is consistent and well done. The seafood tower is an amazing shareable appetizer, crab crusted tilapia was prepared to perfection and let's face it - who wants overcooked or undercooked fish? The waiter staff have all been educated to each dish, making recommendations and answering questions. The only drawback this evening was a possible slowdown in the kitchen. The timing between courses was a little longer than anticipated. Aside from that, this would be 5 stars.

I was really disappointed with this restaurant. The steak was extremely chewy and the dessert options were less than favorable. It is much too overpriced for the food quality.

Great atmosphere but mediocre food. I really wanted to like this place and in fact for a few drinks and live piano music it's probably perfect. However I care about the food the most and I really can't give this place more than two stars. It's a shame that we don't have better chefs in Indy. Lots of potential missed.

We often eat in the bar, so my review will cover that. Have only eaten in the restaurant once and the food was good, while the service was so-so. I would give them 4.5 stars if that were possible. The food here is excellent, but expensive. It is the best seafood you can get in the city, I think slightly edging out the Oceannaire downtown. My wife and I like to go here on our weekday date nights, when we can sit at the bar and possibly listen to the musical styling of the Jeff Day. There is also usually good people watching at the bar, but nothing like the middle-aged disaster that is Ruth's. The shrimp cocktails are great (but expensive), the blackened snapper is now my go to and the bartenders are quick and knowledgeable. I have had steak here one time and it was excellent as well, but I don't remember what cut it was. Is this restaurant good enough to justify the price increase over Bonefish? My personal answer to this question is yes. While I'm a longtime Bonefish fan, I feel like some of the midwest versions of that chain have started to mail it in. Go to one of the original locations in Florida if you want to have a great experience at Bonefish. If you have a group that wants both steak and seafood for dinner, Ocean Prime is your best and only option. I'll caveat that by saying that I have traveled for business for over a decade and have eaten at most of the great steakhouses east of the Mississippi. That means I'm not ordering a steak unless I know it is going to be good and Ocean Prime fits that criteria.

Outstanding. A friend of mine has wanted to try Ocean Prime for awhile, but given that we both earn a nonprofit salary, we hesitated until Northside Nights. After last night's dinner, we agreed that we would come back and pay full price. It's clear that a lot of thought was put into the decor - every area we saw (waiting area, bar, dining room) had slightly different creative touches. It felt classy and not overdone. The service was excellent. They had run out of Northside Nights menus, but our waiter had the whole thing memorized. He was attentive, professional, and always offered a genuine smile. A couple other staff members came by to check on us as well. The food was the sort where you put a bite in your mouth and enjoy a "I can't believe I'm eating this" smile with the rest of your party before saying anything. The house salad had a goat cheese that was so rich and creamy it could have been cream cheese. The teriyaki salmon literally melted in my mouth - probably the best salmon I've ever had. The carrot cake had a surprisingly (in a good way) spicy aftertaste. Layering it meant that every bite had a good balance of cake and frosting. I peeked in the bar/lounge area on the way out. It appeared to have enough room to accommodate plenty of different parties. I'd love to try it sometime. Bravo, Ocean Prime! I'll be planning another fancy dinner here soon.

I really wanted to like this place, and I'm not happy about giving such a low rating. The decor is nice, there are plenty of tables outside, and the service was welcoming and professional. But ultimately, a restaurant has to serve good food, and Ocean Prime in Indy utterly failed to deliver. The crab cakes were generously sized, but also gooey and way too salty. The sea bass was not bad. The real culprit was the risotto, which I couldn't even finish because it was so bad. Drinks were okay. This is one of those cases where I'd probably give a 3/5 rating if it was just an ordinary restaurant, but when you charge premium prices then you're held to a higher standard.

Went here for business dinner. Food is fine, but there's just not enough of it. We got the tuna tartare and calamari appetizers to start. For $31 worth of appetizers, you'd think it's a decent amount of food. It wasn't enough to fill the cracks between your teeth. Then I got the Chilean Sea Bass, which was $39. Bass was fine (but a lobotomized chimp could prepare Chilean Sea Bass well due to its very high fat content), but not enough. When someone pays $39 for Chilean Sea Bass, they should get a decent chunk of it. The service was ok but not great. Several times my diet cola was empty without refill and I had to ask for a refill. Maybe my expectations are out of line but I expect my drink to be always topped off at a restaurant like this. I would go again if someone else paid for it (e.g., business dinner), but I wouldn't go again with my own money.

Had a very mediocre dinner experience here recently. When the bread is the best part of the meal, something isn't right. Sea Bass was under-cooked and had little flavor to it. The scallops were average. The cocktail sauce here needs a dose of St. Elmo's style horseradish; it tastes like ketchup with a dash of Worcestershire sauce and some garlic powder. Service was very slow. It looked like our server had too many tables to handle. Overall a very disappointing experience. As we drove away we wondered why we didn't go to Late Harvest instead. Next time we will...

It just doesn't get any better food wise. Period. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sides were exquisite. Service was great. Atmosphere was great. Simply nothing negative to say. If you are looking for the premier restaurant on the North side, look no further.

Every time I'm here, I love it! The service is great, the food is awesome and their patio is the BEST in Indy!!! They recently changed some items on their menu and I can't wait to go back and try the new items. Until then, my favorites are the Shrimp Sautée, Ahi tuna tartare, Fresh calamari and Goat Cheese Ravioli for the appetizers. The Kansas City Strip and Filet for steak and Sea Bass for fish. You can't go wrong with any of the sides especially the Jalapeño Au Gratin, truffle Mac and cheese and they just brought back Brussels Sprouts -yay!!! Don't forget a piece of peanut butter pie or carrot cake before you leave!! The drink list and wine menu are also trendy and expansive. Try the Moscow Mule, I haven't been able to find another as good in the Midwest! A-maz-ing! Ocean Prime!

My fiance and I have been wanting to try this place for a looong time and we finally did - and it wasn't even a special occasion. There was a 2 hour wait but the bar serves the full menu, so we went to the bar and sat down right away. The "bar menu"/ appetizers are half off between certain hours, so we ordered 3 of those and then split one meal. I was embarrassed that my fiance told the bartender we were going to split a meal but when they actually brought the meal on 2 separate plates (making it look like we ordered 2) and each portion even looked like a normal meal! That was very nice of them! Drinks are very pricey, which was what made our bill super high. The atmosphere was nice and fun. There were live musicians in the bar playing the piano and singing.

Ocean Prime is a chain with locations in various cities. I took my mother there for dinner while visiting her in Indy and was completely blown away by the entire experience at OP. The layout of the dining room was very different from other locations and offered warming natural light as well as trendy lighting features, comfortable chairs and a vibe found in most higher end establishments. The mood was welcoming, service orientated. Knowledgeable and suggestive not pushy. Attentive but not distracting. The steak was a bone in ribeye cooked to medium rare perfection with a little char and paired nicely with very flavorful sides. Upon commenting on green beans not on the menu the professional waiter quickly stated that wasn't a problem and much to my delight we were presented with a tasty GB option lightly steamed and tossed in butter with sea salt. The crunch was balanced by tenderness and flavor. Indy has long been a place for good steaks and you can certainly add OP to the list.

Absolutely fantastic I say! I came here for the first time with a group of about 15 people. We sat on the patio and for whatever reason each person ended up with their own tab. I know how annoying that can be as a server but our server didn't push back at all. The table was eventually filled with drinks and appetizers galore and I didn't know what to eat first. Eventually I think I dipped my fork into just about everything and I can't think of anything that wasn't good. Is it pricey? Yes. But sometimes you get your money's worth and this was most definitely one of those times. Overall, it's an experience. The ambiance, the casual sophistication and the phenomenal service are all what makes this experience one I can't wait to come back for. Good job Ocean Prime!

My husband & I ate here the other night to celebrate our birthdays. Things didn't get off to the best start when my husband noticed some gunk inside his wine glass, and my bread plate was covered in sticky stuff. But we got clean dishes and I let it go, determined to have an awesome birthday experience. My bubbling berry cocktail was impressive not only in presentation, but also quite tasty. The ravioli appetizer was incredible, as was the lobster bisque. Despite the dirty dishes, things were off to a great start! -- until the entrees came. The server strongly encouraged the Dutch Harbor king crab legs that were supposed to be just incredible. I was torn between that and the scallops, so the server suggested ordering the crab legs (half a pound) with a few scallops on the side, so that's what I did. The crab was the complete opposite of my cocktail -- disappointing in both presentation and taste. Maybe I'm not the best at eyeballing it, but this did not look like a half pound of crab. When I placed the order, I was asked if I wanted the crab served warm or cold. I said I would like it warm. I have a strong suspicion that this crab was pre-cooked, refrigerated, and then reheated. This crab was no better than the pre-cooked crab I get from the grocery store. The scallops were fine. Not bad, not the best. My husband had the same opinion of his steak - fine, but not the best in town, especially not for that price. If you want crab, you will get MUCH better quality crab at Mitchell's Fish Market. As for the scallops, I've had better at Eddie Merlot's, Meridian, & Peterson's. We got jalapeno au gratin and truffle mac & cheese for sides. Both were excellent. For dessert we ordered the crème brulee. Like the entrees, it was just okay. The custard part was still completely cold, which is a pet peeve of mine, and the flavor was just average. We ordered the carrot cake to have for breakfast the next day. Again, it was fine, but not great. Eddie Merlot's has a MUCH better carrot cake. Basically, I feel like we spent A LOT of money (over $250, and that was with two free birthday desserts) for a pretty average meal. We could've spent less than that for better food at any of the other restaurants I mentioned above. I would not hesitate to come back here just for drinks & appetizers, but would never come back for a full meal.

Going to this place was a different move for me, rather than just going to the normal places that have the same burgers and sandwhiches that everyone else has. But everything I had was wonderful. Fresh seafood that is very good. Plus sitting outside was even better. The scenery on the inside of the place was also wonderful. VERY NICE!

At most. Food was amazing. Chop salad, bread, crab cakes and sea bass. Service was inexcusable. Hostesses did wonderful job greeting us and noted our anniversary. Seated immediately. Bus boy came by and offered water. We didn't see a server for ten minutes after that. Ordered salad and drinks. More than 15 minutes later we got wine and a martini. Took more than 30 minutes to get a salad. Server offered more bread which he never brought. Finished dinner. Waited 15 minutes for an offer of dessert or to cash out. I dine at fine restaurants monthly if not more often and this service was by far the worst. So sad. Want to like because food is very well done.

It's an expense account spot on the northside, convenient to the hotels there, although for Northside Nights, more families seemed to be part of the picture. The prices are pretty high, and from the look of the menu, the selections don't appear to change often, which is one of the attractive features of a place like Oceanaire. The fish and steak are prepared in the pretty standard way you'd expect from a place like this, with the standard sides (which are a la carte): asparagus, various forms of potatoes (Including tater tots), creamed spinach. Although the food was fine, it was certainly not memorable, and I can't imagine eating here again. But I can imagine having a drink at one of the really, really cool bars (the one off the main dining room is terrific), then going to Late Harvest Kitchen for dinner. The drinks here were quite good.

Ocean Prime is a sublime example of getting what you pay for. In this case you're getting a fresh and fantastic seafood dinner even though you're sitting at least 800 miles from the nearest coast. They fly in their entrees on a daily basis and that price is reflected in the final bill. I've been to this location three times and it usually feels like I've arrived on a slow night. It probably has to do with the combination of higher than average prices (considering the location) and the fact that generally speaking the Midwest is a red meat and potatoes crowd. Don't let either of those facts deter you, however, as everything I've tried on the menu has been fantastic. Highlights include their Sea Scallops, the Lobster Bisque, and the Sea Bass. Their crab cakes are equally top shelf in quality and they're offered as an appetizer or as an entree. They claim each cake is 90% crab meat. While I can't vouch for the exact percentage of the meat I can guarantee they are 100% delicious. If you go looking for a superb seafood restaurant you won't be disappointed.

Superb ! Thank you Ocean Prime for recognizing a frequent customer during the stupid "Northside Nights" eat for cheap week ! We frequently eat at Ruths Chris, Harry and Izzys, Eddie Merlots, Flemmings....all had a ridiculous wait due to "Northside Nights" promotion....in other words....long time customers that would not order off the "cheaper " promotional menu cannot get a seat ? When the above restaurants were asked if they would seat a frequent customer ahead of hordes of bargain eaters...we were basically told "too damn bad !" ......Except for OCEAN PRIME ! They had the sophistication and management savvy to "absolutely we have a table for you ! We have reserved tables that are not available for Northside Nights, but are available for our frequent customers !" Bravo ! Ocean Prime will be the only steak house we will go to from this point forward ! Excellent Steak, better than Ruiths Chris, Eddie Merlots, Flemmings, Sullivans, Harry and Izzies....much better IMO ! Fish is always excellent, service is friendly, professional and frequent without being intrusive. Decor and ambiance is elegant without being stuffy... Very kid friendly....just terrific people !

The food was excellent. The service was just ok...and for the prices they charge the service should have been excellent as well. No water refills, we had to ask for bread to be brought, long waits between courses...just not up to par. We went early and they weren't that busy, so there is really no excuse for the poor service. We will be going back to. Oceanaire instead in the future.

We came for a birthday dinner and left less than satisfied. We had reservations and waited over 30 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated, our server's assistant greeted us warmly. Our server finally arrived after a bit of a wait, apologized for the wait and offered free appetizers - nice. We ordered calamari, ravioli, and a crab cake. We waited quite a bit for appetizers, and even longer for our entrees - halibut, lobster tails and tuna. Our food was good - just good. We weren't totally knocked off our feet by the food or the service. Our server was very knowledgeable, but his service was just ok. The prices are too high, the food is not memorable, and the service is ok. Way too much money was spent for an average evening. I may go back for cocktails and appetizers, but not for dinner.

Had a pretty good visit to Ocean Prime. Was there for an after-work event in the outdoor bar area. Had some drinks and tried out the majority of the appetizers. The patio was in a semi-enclosed area, which gave it a cozier feel and kept us away from the elements. The drinks menu consisted of craft beer/cocktails and wine. They had several Indiana beers, which are mandatory these days. One of their signature cocktails was vodka and ginger beer, which was quite refreshing on a warm muggy day. Interestingly, they served this cocktail in a tin cup, which seemed less upscale but also different at the same time. The food was solid with some twists. Mac and Cheese with truffles was an interesting take on a traditional comfort food. The Goat Cheese Ravioli was rich and creamy. The Sauteed Shrimp had a kick to it, and went well with the cheese bread. Best of all was the Ahi Tuna Tartare, served with avocados and sweet sauce that did not overwhelm the fish. Will I come back for a full meal? I think so. I will be on the lookout for their Northside Lights Restaurant Week menu.

Dinner at the bar is great. The bar is defiantly the place to enjoy dinner. The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable and A great place to people watch. The live music makes it a great night. Recommend the oysters.

Great food! Highly recommend the Salmon dish - served on lobster and gnocchi. Delicious! The lobster bisque is also great! The bar is beautiful. Never had bad service. My friend always has the broached chicken - it's phenomenal. Would recommend to anyone!

Not so great. Slow service and below average food. Shocking for the high price. Much better seafood options in Indy. Won't return. Large party and if say half the people found the good average to worse.

Excellent service, presentation and food. Half priced wine night, the blu lounge with small plates, seafood, creamed spinach, and freshly flown in daily calamari are some of the things that keep me coming back.

My husband and I visited for our anniversary and numerous staff acknowledged our anniversary. Beautiful decor, great service (Scott was are waiter, very knowledgable) was seated within 10 minutes of arrival (8:30pm reservation, attempted to get earlier spot but they were booked), food was great, calamari was very tender (a little sweet) sides were ok (mac-n-cheese & creamed spinach). Our waiter offered us a complimentary anniversary desserts that had "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate, it was amazing (chocolate peanut butter torte with coffee). I ordered the blackened snapper, excellent flavor, my husband ordered a medium push ribeye and stated it was the best he's had thus far and we've visited numerous high-end restaurants in the city, overall excellent night & dining experience.

Great restaurant that serves broiled USDA prime steaks. It's very modern and sophisticated. Definitely a great place to bring your date. I love the fact that its open kitchen. It reminds me of restaurants in LA. They have a good selection of wine and other drinks. They have on-going specials so be sure to call or check their website. Definitely order their steaks. Don't skip dessert. Try their baked Alaska, it's good for 3-4 people.

Don't be intimidated by rumors that is pricey! No more pricey than any other high-end seafood/steak restaurant. Really good food/portions and service. Try the blackened snapper and smoked Gouda tots. Caesar is yummy too. Ask for Leroy! Carrot cake is pretty good too- no nuts!

This was our first trip to OceanPrime, and we were impressed. Our waiter was timid but accommodating, and he let us explore the menu verbally before settling on our choices. The cocktails were crisp and refreshing (who ever thought muddled cucumbers would be refreshing?). We had the tuna tartare, wedge salad, lobster tails, and ribeye, all of which was perfectly prepared. We had a peanut butter dessert that was, to say the least, decadent and satisfying. The place is pricey, but it was Mother's Day weekend and my wife deserved it. We look forward to our return.

I was there on a Wed night and the place was packed with business diners. It's a good sign to see a full parking lot during a weekday. Service was pleasant and attentive; from the hostess to waiters. My sea bass was excellent. It came with truffle mashed potatoes! Yum... My husband's NY steak was cooked to perfection. It's our fourth time there and I was not all that impressed the first three times. However, last night's dinner was fabulous. Wonderful addition to Indy. Keep up the good work OC!!

Pretty good dining experience. Our reservation wasn't honored until an almost half an hour wait, but the staff was very kind and that was great. The food was divine. You can literally customize anything and everything to have exactly what you'd like. For example, we took the truffle Mac-n-Cheese and made it a lobster Mac n cheese! The drinks and service were awesome, too. I recommend this place highly.

Friends and I came to Ocean Prime as part of the Northside Nights promotion and I was quite pleased with this fancy seafood experience. The atmosphere of Ocean Prime is beautiful, lowlighting, soft neon colors, and plenty of room to enjoy seafood, both inside and outside on the patio. The promotion included a three-course meal for $30, not including drinks, gratuity, and taxes. The place is a bit expensive without the promotion, but if you want to impress a member of the opposite sex who loves seafood, then I'd highly recommend taking that person to this Keystone Crossing restaurant and showing them your worldly side. As we sat down, we were greeted by an extremely friendly waitress who was attentive and caring all evening long. She took our drink orders first--I had a tap water and an Old Fashioned with Maker's Mark. The cocktail was great, though $10.75, so I'd think before you start throwing them back. The waitress brought out a fresh-baked loaf of delicious bread and butter while we contemplated our orders. The bread tasted great and they will bring you more as you run out. For the first course, I picked the Caesar Salad with Parmesan garlic dressing and fresh black pepper. For the second course, I picked the pan-seared scallops with risotto. And for dessert, I picked the five-layer carrot cake with cream cheese icing and pineapple syrup. The meal was absolutely phenomenal. Salad was crisp and tasty, the scallops and risotto were perfectly cooked and packed with tons of flavor with perfect proportions, and the carrot cake was out of this world, and I must give a standing ovation for the performance of the pineapple syrup, the underdog. The carrot cake matched the syrup with ease, like being separated at birth. I give Ocean Prime my highest form of flattery and I hope to return someday for delicious seafood noms.

I called ahead to see if reservations were necessary and they said they were not busy so we headed over and arrived 20 minutes later. We received awful service from the hostesses. They seated us in what turns into a smoking lounge I guess. We walked through the dining room and then outside, the "walls" were just plastic sheeting. There were overhead heaters that were not on yet it was about 40 degrees outside. We asked them to turn on the heat a few times and finally they did after a long, 30 minute wait. The meal was average, I expected more from the rave reviews I saw but was completely underwhelmed by the entire experience. I won't be going back again.

My friend and I were in the mood for fresh and flavorful seafood...she mentioned Ocean Prime and after seeing Blackened Snapper on the menu, I was pretty much sold. List of menu items I tried: blackened snapper, tuna tartar, bacon spinach, truffle Mac and cheese, and some cocktail with grapefruit juice I have nothing more to say than...if I would have died eating that food...I would have gone to foodie heaven. Tis all...go and enjoy! Oh, it was quite pricey. My friend and I split the bill and paid $100 each but so worth it!

Well, my expectations were high - from my friends to Yelp, I had high hopes. I generally am a huge seafood lover and the idea that a high end seafood joint opened up just down the road from me, made me giddy with joy. And, up until the entree, I was happy. The service was a bit slow to start, but it was a Friday night at prime dining hour (8 pm). Our server (Shelby) was awesome, very sweet and attentive. She was great with the menu options and allowed me three tastes of wine when I couldn't decide which glass I wanted to purchase. She guided us well through the appetizer menu and didn't push the most expensive items (though those are what I gravitate to anyway). We got the calamari, which had a Thai twist. It was not too spicy though and very generous (enough for four people for sure - too much IMO for two). There was just enough breading, not too fried and were cooked very well. It was REALLY good. I would go back for drinks and appetizer for sure! I also got a cup of the lobster bisque, which was so so so good. It came out super hot and was just the right portion that I didn't get too full. However, this, unfortunately is where it ends for me. I am a big crab cake fan. Like I visit Baltimore on occasion JUST to eat crab. And, I had perused the menu for a few hours the day of our dinner before deciding that I would definitely get the crab cakes....They were a large portion of two cakes on a bed of cream corn and veggies. The cakes were a bit bland and the corn sauce was not what I expected. The texture seemed off to me and the cakes were also under-cooked. Super disappointed. My hubby got the halibut which was dry and overdone. We were both distractedly coming down from our appetizer high.... And then the dessert came out (which was on the house since we were celebrating my birthday - THANK YOU!). We got the creme brulee as I had saw on their FB page earlier that day - as the specialty. It was a great portion, with a perfect crisp and delicious fresh berries. The texture was perfect and pudding-like. A little thicker than what I am used to with this dessert but it worked well. Very good and very nice of Shelby to offer us our choice on the dessert to celebrate. The chef also wrote "Happy birthday" on my plate, which made it even more personal and special. A very nice touch. Overall, I could not go higher than 3 stars. I do feel there is some improvement. I am always happy to drop some cash on a great meal but this meal was NOT great. It was OK and unfortunately we paid the price for REALLY FABULOUS, which we did not get. Another downside is that my hubby loves craft beer on tap and they offer NOTHING on tap - only bottle and it's ever-changing so the server was able to share her personal list but there is no beer menu. I guess I feel like with so many beer snobs out there now, this would be a great option, considering the bar is so awesome here! I would definitely recommend checking it out for drinks and apps but maybe not feel as confident recommending it for entrees...so guys, hit it up to start the evening off but end the evening somewhere you will get your money's worth until they figure out what is going on with the main course.

Jeremy Devine did an amazing job with the Glenfiddich Scotch Tasting event last Wednesday. What a complete experience. Host - insightful, interesting and funny, Food pairing - perfect. The service and environment was a wonderful way to spend a cold Wednesday evening. Hoping to see OA host more events like this under Mr. Devine's management.

We recently had our second excellent experience here within a few weeks. Joyce (and the rest of the staff) provided outstanding service despite a few challenging diners in her section. We started with some interesting cocktails. I really enjoyed the crisp taste of the cucumber lime gimlet. Next, raw oysters that were plump and fresh. My blackened snapper was perfectly cooked and nicely spiced. My wife had the scallops with risotto and loved them. This place has a great supper club feel. We finished with a rich coffee served through a press and a smooth complementary creme brûlée (it was a special occasion.) We got exactly what we had hoped for - a great dinner on a night of celebration.

Stopped by Ocean Prime because of their outdoor seating that is really nice especially with the great weather we are having this summer. The service was a little slow but sufficient. We were interested in wine and appetizers which seemed to be counter what our server wanted. We ordered an Orin Swift 2011 Abstract and were given a 2012. When I ask the server about it and he reviewed their stock it was determined they only had the 2012. Surprised the menu for a restaurant of this supposed class would not update their menu. We ordered the 1871 oysters and while flavorful it seemed they may have been shucked earlier than our order or the shucker did not know how to keep the oyster liquor in the shell as they were rather dry. We had the crab cocktail and served with their smoking dry ice that was visually nice and they were tasty. We also split a shrimp and lobster salad that was good. The biggest surprise came when I received the bill and noticed the wine was $7.00 over the menu price....hmmm and the answer was "our register has been having issues" it was corrected but one has to wonder how many times they get away with the over charge. It is pricey for the quantity and quality; I think you can do better elsewhere.

I brought my family here for the prix-fixe menu during Northside Nights. It was our 21st wedding anniversary, and we wanted to try Ocean Prime. Unfortunately, Indianapolis has plenty of fine dining options, but not enough competent fine dining servers. The effort was there, but not the execution. Our server was very friendly, but he was disorganized and awkward/uncomfortable dealing with customers. He charged the wrong check to my card (which I noticed and called to his attention) and then upon canceling that charge and bringing the new receipt, he forgot to bring my card back. The host/maitre d' visited the table twice to check on us, but his manner was cloying and seemed insincere. Just be friendly and be yourself, then move on please. The atmosphere is nice, though the tables are quite close together--Manhattan style. The food was fine. My daughter loved her steak. My scallops were perfectly seared, but I would have liked them to arrive hotter and on a hot plate. The risotto was too thick, but it tasted good. My house salad was supposed to contain apples, but it had none--it looked as though the salads were being tossed and dispensed en masse. I would hope that this salad is properly plated and definitely more complete when it is not part of the prix-fixe menu. The highly touted carrot cake was just okay (it pales compared to my mom's!). I can't often afford to pay retail at a place like Ocean Prime, so I won't be back unless it is a business dinner. Better fine dining options in Indianapolis include Oceanaire, Palomino, Harry and Izzy's, St. Elmo's, Ruth's Chris, and even Morton's. These other restaurants have experienced and capable waitstaffs, which is an absolute must when paying this much for a dinner.

Would have given 2 stars if not for the bar. Strip mall - check. Salty hostess - check. Pretentiously priced menu for Indianapolis - check. Disrespect for creatures of the ocean - sadly, check. Salty hostess who really didn't feel like seating us because we had no reservation in an overpriced, strip mall, chain restaurant - check. If you want to get a taste of the Real Housewives of Indianapolis, go to Ocean Prime. The big qualifier here is IF - IF I had a crystal ball I would only come here for drinks and people watching. So fun to watch people get dolled up in their weekend best. Lots of rhinestones, lip liner, monogrammed purses - men in their best studded jeans and button down shirts with man necklaces. One group actually took turns on a portable breathalyzer. But I digress . . . BAR Loved the bar. The service and drinks were at 100%. Wine is alright - heavy on the Chardonnay, accessible, everything is pronounceable. All mixers, juices, purees are made on sight. Very fresh and well balanced. The Pineapple Vodka is house infused, ice cold, sweet, sour perfect. The bar has tons of seating and has live piano music on the weekends. Food can be ordered and truffle popcorn is served hot and salty (which is the theme of Ocean Prime in Indy). SERVICE No complaints. Excellent, prompt, polite, helpful service. RESTAURANT Ok inside. The main room has a banquet feel to it. Back room in more intimate. FOOD Such potential. I heard the fish is flown in fresh so it was sad to see how the fish was treated. Tuna tartar was beautiful on the plate. Ahi tuna cut into large chunks on top of a bed of avocado and fried ginger. Such potential. Too bad the salty ponzu sauce wrestled the delicate tuna and avocado until it won plate and palate domination. Sea Scallops. This was a nicely composed dish. Once I can only assume the dish is finished with sea salt so everyone gets an extra layer? Would be fine but the scallops were over cooked. Chewy and one had split. Made me very sad. Risotto was fine. I detected a hint of sage which was odd since there was shaved fennel on top. Maybe I am not refined enough for this dish. Sea Bass. This is the hardest to write about. I don't know where to begin. That poor sea bass that was plucked out of the ocean and flown all the way to Indianapolis and onto my plate only to be assaulted by so much salt. Why do you love salt so much? The dish, by the way, looked beautiful. I was hopeful. The cut was thick and I thought the whipped potatoes underneath would balance everything out. I was wrong, again. Salt reigned supreme. There is no hope in this plate. Oh, some shaved truffles. Fancy. BONUS Can't walk ten feet to the door? Valet your car, or course.

Happy birthday dinner for my friend and I! A group of us went here to celebrate my birthday and my friend's too. Our server was friendly and helpful, he went over some aspects of the menu for us. We started with drinks and I had the first of several different martinis. The one with the orchid ice cube was tasty. I tried the berries and bubbles next and it does bubble! It was better than the first one. We opted for the ahi tuna starter and loved it. We also tried the calamari, which was very good, but watch out for the peppers. Yowza! I got the Chilean sea bass and it was prepared very well. The server could tell we were celebrating birthdays so he let us choose our desserts. The ten!! Layer carrot cake was calling my name so I had to get it. My friend got the peanut butter and chocolate cake. Both were delicious, just depends on what you feel like that night. We wandered over to check out the bar and it's very swanky. I had the pineapple martini, fresh pineapple juice! I could have drank those all night. That would have ended badly and so we decided to leave on a high note!

I was searching for a great place for my one year wedding anniversary, when I remembered Ocean Prime. I had noticed it many times upon going to the Fashion Mall and was interested in trying it out. My husband made the reservation and they had asked if it was for a special occasion, which he informed it was our anniversary. When we arrived the hostess at the desk was so kind and told us happy anniversary and so did the hostess that brought us to our table. I was a bit disappointed that our table was in the corner and had a shared bench seat with another table, but I quickly got over it when we received the most amazing service. We were greeted immediately by our "server assistant," Veronica, who was very polite. Quickly followed by Veronica was our amazing server, Drew, who was extremely knowledgable, polite, timely, and just plain cool. We ordered dirty Grey Goose martinis that were made perfectly. Then oysters and tuna tartar that arrived quickly and were some of the best I have had. Right after our appetizers were finished we were brought our entree, my husband ordered the 10oz filet and I ordered the 8oz filet, both medium rare, as well as the garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed carrots to share. The steaks were cooked to perfection and were beautifully seasoned. The garlic mashed potatoes consisted of the perfect amount of garlic and the sautéed carrots were flavored wonderfully. We ordered the creme brûlée for dessert and the portion size was so great my husband and I could barely finish it, but it was so good we had to. To make it that much better, Drew comped our dessert. I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant, even the valets were super friendly! We will definitely be going back very soon.

Left happy, but they could do better. Wife and I went here for an impromptu meal at the bar on a weeknight. We ordered oysters, a salad, crab legs, and some drinks. First thing I noticed was that my wife's wine was absolutely ice cold. I looked at the wine Fridge's temp setting and it was set at 36 degrees. WAY too cold for white wine. Not a huge deal, just let it sit for 10 minutes on the bar. But still, a restaurant that wants to compete with Oceanaire should not have something that simple wrong. Oysters were good, nothing amazing. No mignonette which I found odd. Crab legs were good but for the price were not a lot too eat. I think I actually prefer the king crab from Costco and making it myself for half the price. Salad literally took 40 minutes to get to us. We were having drinks and talking so no biggy, but again, if you want to compete with the big boys, you don't let this happen. Bartender gave us a free dessert for the crazy salad wait time, which was nice. Service overall was very good and the bar had a nice ambiance. Overall, a good meal, but the next time we go out looking to spend $100+ on seafood and drinks, we'll head back to old faithful Oceanaire.

Food: 5 stars Wine list: extensive Service: 4 stars (waiter brought our wine so late in the meal he ended up giving it to us for free, which salvaged this rating. Otherwise service was a little slow, especially for an 8:30 reservation, but tolerable) Atmosphere: a little loud but very upscale. 4 stars. I would go back based on the above ratings. However, one note that I would pass on to management is this: don't seat people in your covered outside patio in the dead of a very cold winter in uncomfortable patio chairs and ask them to pay $100 each for dinner. It's inappropriate. We were initially seated out there. We asked to be moved inside and luckily we were accommodated (and staff were very nice). If we had not been, we definitely would have left. This area should be closed in the winter unless people just want to sit out there for bar overflow or casual dining. It's not the place for an upscale dinner for guests who make a reservation.

We love to dine at Ocean Prime and always enjoy the atmosphere. We suggest sitting at either bar if there is room, as the atmosphere is perfect. One of the Managers Jeremy invited us to attend a Glenfiddich Scotch tasting the other night and it was amazing. Along with fabulous scotch, we were served Tuna Tar Tar, Scallops and Beef Tenderloin Sliders. We now place the menu, atmosphere and management at the top of the list for Indy restaurants.

Outstanding, loved this place. I have to order gluten free and Jason the bartender gave me a great suggestion. He knew right what to do. I have been to the Ocean Prime in MI. My company scheduled a private dinner at Ocean Prime in the "Prime Room" and I am so happy they chose this restaurant! From the moment we arrived we had a wonderful experience. Impressive decor. Poor service. Decent food. Overpriced. Don't ask to sit by the windows - you will be seated in a quasi-outside area under an infrared heater. Your back will be freezing and your forehead will cook. The steaks and seafood are very good, the sides are OK. Desserts are fair.

First the service was outstanding by our server! Excellent. Which made the dining experience. Second the wine list was exactly what I liked. We picked a moderate price wine that was perfect. Third the food was disappointing!! The seafood and appetizers were good the Steak was actually terrible. Asked specifically what was USDA Prime, I ordered that and I believe what was served was substituted to something less. None of us could eat our steaks. Well I guess an expensive dog food we revived to take in the doggy bag. Food was not worth the price but service was great

I've attempted to give this restaurant a chance to improve their service, however, I just don't think it will ever happen. I'm shocked, given what I hear from others, that the management hasn't clued in. Food is pretty good but great service would make this establishment memorable. Sad they don't take more pride in what they do. This restaurant is now on my list to avoid and to tell others the same.

Attended a business meeting here. In the Prime room behind slilding glass doors- hopefully was sound proof and did not disturb the other patrons. For appetizers- had sweet chili calamari, crab cake and goat cheese ravioli. Main course- ginger salmon. dessert- carrot cake. Pro's- fresh sea food; con- missing... salt? The crab cake was good, but the taste would have been enhanced by a tinge more salt. Same with the Salmon. So the food tasted a little more flatter due to the missing ingredient. There was a thin 'bread crumbs like dry crust' on top of the salmon which may have had the ginger, but I did not taste the ginger at all! Mashed potatoes as a side were good. Carrot cake- OK- very sweet with lots of creamy frosting. Overall - reasonably good food. Easy accessibility - near Keystone shopping Mall, off 86th. May be good option for heart patients... seafood with less salt!

We had a wonderful Valentine's dinner at Ocean Prime. The service was excellent (friendly and attentive but not overbearing). We liked all of our orders, from the fondue appetizer to the carrot cake. Our steaks were cooked correctly with some seasonings that made them as good as any steak I've had in Indianapolis (Shula's, Ruth Chris, etc). You can see from the menu that this is an expensive restaurant, but it's a great choice for your special occasion.

First time experience on Friday night 7 pm: Quick and professional valet parking. Kind greeting by hostess (more than one). No open tables in the bar so we sat in a little comfy waist high booth kind table. It was too small for dinner but a great size for cocktails and an appetizer. Our waiter, Nick, asked us if we would be having dinner, gave us menus and then quickly offered that a 4 top bar dining table in his section was coming availabe asap (great touch Nick!). We were quickly seated and offered a choice of water and ordered a couple of nice Chardonnays (there were very good). Nick went over the menu starting with Beef and giving the typical "why are beef is so good speel" blah blah blah. We were there for seafood and quite honesty I didn't come to "Ocean Prime" for beef---duh. At a fine dining restaurant I was expecting Seafood first and at least a question if we were in the mood for Beef. I digress. I asked for several recommendations and several were offered. We opted to pass on salads and appetizers due to alacarte veggy and potato which we beleived to be of two person size. The $34 seabass was very large and just OK. I tasted a fair amount of seasoning on a barely or just cooked enough piece of fish. I wasnt impressed for the most expensive fish on the menu. The presentation was awesome however. I chose Snapper and it was very good. Nick suggested the Truffle Mac and Japeno Au Gratin potatoes. Both were very good and perfect for two people. No desert. The bar decor and atmosphere was very cool and everything you'd expect from a fine dining restaurant: A. We saw a dry ice cocktail that was really cool with the fog rolling off of it---great idea! And now the bad. FOR ME, the guy playing the piano and singing was way too loud and he came off like a cruise ship entertainer waiting for his big break. We were sitting the farthest away from this music and it was still way too loud. The music at Sullivans is way better---you can have a good conversation at your table without speaking loudly and still here the tunes. The music for me pulled a 4 star experience to a 3. I would suggest passing on the bar if your seeking a wonderful romantic date. The bar was of bar volume but really cool as a restaurant bar goes. Hopefully the Billy Joel wanna be singer dude was a temporary. If he was the house musican I would definitely pass on the bar next time and insist on the dining room. Leaving the restuarant was probably my best experience as the GM approached me and asked "What other restaurants did you consider in additional to Ocean Prime?". Since I'm a marketing guy this scored huge points for me. His question made me think and ultimately I realized that we patronized Ocean Prime because it was perceived to be the best SeaFood restaurant if you drove from the Geist area (or at least the best fine dining seafood that I could think of). Summary: Great place. Music too loud. Should of had more SeaFood menu options IMO. They are missing out on a niche which is great seafood as I think there are no other options in the Keystone or Castleton area. I'll be back but it won't be next weekend or in the next few months. Cheers,

Had dinner with friends last night. Could not wait to post my exceptional review. Wes our server was fantastic and attentive. The bar staff paid attention and never let our drinks or water glasses go empty. The management stopped in to check on us multiple times and made light conversation. My favorite restaurant by far in the Indy area. Thanks

Really amazed at the outrageous pricing at this place. $48.00 for are cold pieces of fish each! Oysters on the half shell small and expensive also. The seafood salad was ok but only ordered one. With 2 martinis and 1 glass of wine are bill came to a whopping $276.00 dollars, we tipped $40.00 not the waiters fault! But we're somehow charged an extra $30.00 dollars.????? We often go to Sullivan's and it's never even close to this and the quality is far superior . We're still shaking our heads save your money! Crazy could have eaten in a top French restaurant in New York for less and much better.

Probably my new favorite place to dine on the North side. The bar is fantastic, we tried a couple of different martinis, appetizers, and salads. There was this really cool one with dry ice that was definitely the favorite. Will be back soon!

We have been here twice now, and the food is phenomenal, the atmosphere is really cozy and rich, and the service is outstanding. Our food came out about 5min later than they anticipated, and they comped us a drink and were very apologetic. We didn't need the comp, but greatly appreciated that they take accountability for their food and service. So hard to find now. Everything we had (lobster, steak, snapper, salad, soup, carrot cake) was very, very tasty. You pay for it (pricey), but you get a great night out all around!

Went there with a group of 5 on Thursday night for the Northside Nights menu. I've heard both good and bad things about OP so I thought I would check it out for myself. We were seated outside on the patio in the corner which seemed great at first. I didn't know that I would be "in the way" sitting there though. It is right next to a door that the employees use to run food, bus tables and possibly a shortcut so I was constantly being brushed up against by somebody. I ordered the french onion soup as opposed to the wedge salad. The soup had a single cashew in it so I was confused as to wheather it should have been there or not so I decided against eating it. Then I had the 6oz filet that was a little tough, mashed potatoes that were very bland and green beans. I also ordered the truffle fries for $9. The fries were really good but not $9 good. Then I ordered the 5 layer carrot cake for dessert. The carrot cake itself was really good but it was in a pool of pineapple reduction that was way too strong and ruined the cake it was touching. With so many other dining choices for this price range withing a two minute drive I would probably go elsewhere next time.

Great place, first time here. Had a great experience at the bar with Kelly - she took care of me and kept me company as I hung out after a long business trip. Had the $8 martini which was a great deal - actually had four. Then on to the oysters on the half sourced from VA. I can't say enough about the friendliness at the bar. Three different bar tenders spoke with me and kept me engaged. Highly recommended for the business crowd. Hang out with Kelly she knows her bourbons and is super friendly. Also really knowledgable about main stream food and the various movements. Very cool!

Very pretentious! Came in for oysters at the bar during the tree lighting ceremony downtown and had a good time at the bar. But we came back for dinner on a Thursday and it was dead. Sat at a booth in the main dining room. I asked about a few appetizers we had previously at the bar on our last visit as they were not on the menu. I was told that they were available only at the bar. The server had a very snobbish attitude when I asked why we couldnt order them at the table seeing as how the room was dead. Needless to say we moved to the bar. I've been in the restaurant biz for over twenty years and I'm always amazed when I experience this dual menu concept...I understand they are trying to drum up business for the bar area but when the entire restaurant is slow during prime time then it's time to rethink the plan! The bartender made it clear that most of their business is during events downtown. A quality well managed appropriately priced restaurant does well in any area and does not need gimmicks to drive traffic in. But never NEVER tell a customer they cant have something! Besides this is a seafood joint in Indy not Miami or San Fran... Over-priced and Pretentious!

I have been to this place twice and both times the main entree was so salty i could not eat it. If and a big IF i have to go to this location again, i will stick to appetizers.

We went to Ocean Prime on an early Sunday evening, The food was very good, the interior is beautiful, the acoustics were good, the wait staff was pleasant and efficient but man, it's expensive. There are still some lingering new restaurant issues. We asked what beers were available and we were handed the waiter's cheat sheet. The menu was fairly limited but the wine list was extensive. 3 people, 1 drink each, 1 entree each, 2 sides = $157 before tip. No appetizers, desserts, salads, or extra drinks. I get the feeling it's trying to be the Ruth's Chris of seafood. Overall it was a good meal but it just didn't measure up to the cost. Still, it's a great destination for the expense account crowd.

Food is great. Steak is better than ruth chris hands down. Service is sooooo slow. Have been here on several occassions now....some wait staff better than others but all very slow. Sat down at 8pm and got food at 11 pm. Too tired to eat it. Waitress was rude and kept forgetting things. Did not apologize. Just awful staff but great food. I have been told to sit at the bar for better service so I will do that next time.

Bar service: excellent. Wine and cocktail selection: excellent Food: approaching average Quality per Value: Ocean Prime, you should be ashamed. Summation: have tried at least 6 times. Steaks, apps, desserts, and most importantly seafood all miss the mark. Disappointing. However, if you you want the swankiest bar to have a scotch, bourbon, or rum with excellent selections and have dinner elsewhere, start here

Great atmoshpere and fun to eat in the piano bar inside. Extensive wine list. Service was good but could be improved on a little. All of or needs were met but it seemed that we had to ask more often than we should have at the price point for this establishment.

I think Ocean Prime has great drinks, great service, and fairly good food. We shared goat cheese ravioli and it was wonderful, but the lobster bisque wasn't that great. It lacked any actual pieces of lobster, and was quite salty and dull for being as pricey as it is. Our entrees were good, but I wasn't blown away by any of the flavors or the presentation of the food. The drinks are very fun, you can't go wrong with any of the cocktails on the menu. The service was great, our waiter was extremely attentive, despite having quite a few tables, and very helpful in explaining things on the menu. I would probably go back again to have drinks and appetizers at the bar.

What a waste. I was hoping for the same experience I'd had at other OP (Texas and Florida) but was sorely disappointed. Service was haphazard. Waiter forgot one of our drinks, had NO wine knowledge (though he certainly knew what was expensive on the list) and seemed confused by simple questions about the fish. I wanted to know what kind of crab was in the cakes, and the source of their sea bass. One would think that a restaurant with the word "ocean" in the name would know a vast majority of Chilean sea bass is illegally sourced and take measures accordingly. He was thoroughly baffled by the concept of Patagonian Toothfish. Ugh They certainly know at Oceanaire. Dessert was blase' at best. I don't mind spending money on good food, but there are so many better options.

On a busy Friday night, I had my first, and hope many more, OP experience. A luxury, supper club, type of decor that was surprisingly quiet. Initial opening service bugs seem to be worked out. We had steady service allowing us time to socialize. Excellent calamari, steak, creamed spinach, unique cocktails, and peanut butter-chocolate mousse dessert. I feel this place will put a couple of other Indy $$$$ steak and seafood places out of business.

Not a good experience. Had a party of 5 at 8:45pm. The wait staff was not attentive. Food was ok but not great. For a high end seafood restaurant to serve fish overcooked and dry, come on and especially at these prices. The finisher was desert, ordered desert and French coffee. Desert was served with no silverware on the table and no wait staff in sight, they plopped it down and disappeared, I had to get up and start looking for silverware, then the waiter showed up and placed forks and disappeared again, the problem was we had cream Brule, not a fork food. The coffee finally came half way through desert and the I think the real topper was my waiter asking me how everything was as he was delivering the check....I wont be back and I want my $400 dollars back

I can't review the food or dining area, as I have only visited the bar, which had always been fine experiences ... until last evening. My friend and I each ordered "well" vodka drinks. At the end of the evening our bill came and it said "Ketel One" drinks, at $9 each. I called the bartender over, explained we had ordered well drinks ... she takes the receipt back to the cash register, fixes it, and brings back to us ... now it says we had Stoli vodka, but still $9 each. I asked again, and the answer was that apparently the well drinks and the Ketel One drinks were the same price. And not to worry, we had been served Ketel One but at the well vodka price, which was somehow supposed to make us feel better ...? No amount of discussion changed the situation or our tab, which we finally reluctantly paid. Oh, and no apology was offered, short of "sorry about that" as we were leaving. There are many fine restaurants and drinking establishments in the same area of Indianapolis. I won't be back to this one.

Excellent addition to the Indy dining scene. VERY good service, GREAT food and a wonderful atmosphere. The steaks and blackened snapper our group of 4 had were all first class. The side dishes were superb and could easily be sufficient for 4 or even 6 diners. Cocktail choices were very interesting and try the "bubbles and berries" martini!!!

First time visit in late July. Love the contemporary and tasteful atmosphere but hostesses who fielded phone calls prior to our reservation nearly turned me off from experiencing the restaurant all together. Quite an heir of arrogance which is odd considering the source. Upon arrival, the hostess was friendly and our server assistant was a doll, Brandon. The waitress, Sam, was also very pleasant and thorough. Table ordered miso cod, crab cakes, and scallops. All was good, probably should've ordered sides in addition to the entrees as the scallops were the only dish with a sufficient side of risotto. All dishes were very good. Ive had much better scallops w risotto at other dining establishments in Indy, but no complaints. Had the lemon blueberry cheesecake for dessert which was definitely large enough for 3 girls to split, and pretty tasty! Will definitely be going back. 3 stars primarily for the people who fielded the phone calls on Thursday night.

Ok, the $13 martini aside, I'm a fan. The ambiance is fantastic -- a younger, more hip version of Ruth's Chris tailored toward 30-50 somethings who know what they like but want to enjoy a modern lounge space. Service is great; the bartenders are attentive, and the kitchen staff will go above and beyond to accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions. A huge benefit for a vegetarian dining with carnivores!

It was our anniversary night and the evening was wonderful the service was spectacular the food was awesome I suggest coming here anytime you can when you can afford it. I must say that they need to improve on the desert the cheesecake tasted like refrigerator and upset my pregnant wife therefore I conclude I love going to Ocean prime for the old-school style service. My favorite dish the calamari and also the Yellowfin tuna was awesome order rare as possible!
