I was in town for a National Guard conference in August. Staying at the Hampton Inn I thought I would eat there. I ordered the shrimp cocktail, steak and scallops special and a side of creamy spinach. Everything came out average, nothing was over the top. When I got my bill of $150 I about died. I also had 3 glasses of wine. But a solo dinner with my tip for $180 and I never ordered dessert. Not cool. While in town I also ate at Fago & St. Elmo. Twice the food, half the pice.

Best steak in downtown Indy. House salad could definitely be stepped up - come on guys. That's ridiculous. Wedge salad is amazing. I would have to say they have the best lobster bisque. Ruth's Chris is a close second. The steak had such a great flavor. I went in December and it tasted like charcoal. But the last 2 times this spring/ summer has been amazing. Dessert was amazing. Lobster mac and cheese was dry so they added sauce - well handled. Customer service is amazing. Servers, waitstaff, hostess. All professional, helpful , and friendly.

A Bit of a disappointment. Went to Mo's with some friends who have been to Indy many times before. They had been here last year before the restaurant moved down the block to its current location. It has a typical steakhouse menu. There are some specials, a nice choice of salads, appetizers, entrées, and side dishes are served family style. I had tuna and my wife ordered an 8 ounce Kobe wagyu filet. She ordered it medium rare and it came out definitively medium well. We didn't complain but you expect a Steakhouse to be able to cook a steak properly, especially a $68 kobe filet. The new location is smaller than the previous spot. It has a nice decor but traffic flow was a bit of an issue for the servers. Tables are not that close to each other, but my chair was a bit close to another table where the waiters had to walk. They kept bumping into my chair and whizzing past me. We were at a roundtable and I had to move my chair to one side to keep from being bumped every time they walked past. I mentioned this to the manager so I hope they address it with the waitstaff. Hopefully they get their kinks ironed out. They have only been in the new location for a month.

One of the best steaks I have ever devoured. Great service too. All worth the fairly high prices. Really incredible!

To properly write this review, I have to tell a story... It was a fine Saturday in late July. We had ventured from Derby City (Louisville, if you didn't know), along miles of wretched Interstate 65, to Indy in order to see the Varekai production of Cirque du Soleil. We had already made reservations at another (I won't name names) steak house for 8:15 pm. The show let out at 6, so we had some time to kill...we wandered. We browsed a couple bars, having a drink at one. But, as 7:00 approached, we happened upon a place called "Mo's, A Place For Steaks". I said "hey, I bet they have good martinis. We can stop in and have a couple drinks while we wait for reservation time to roll around". So, we went it. We were quickly greeted by a friendly hostess who seated us at the bar, where we met one of their excellent bartenders, Keith. I had one of the best Manhattans I've had in a long time, which means a lot coming from a whiskey snob. We chatted with Keith and the other bartender, Bridgette, who was equally amazing and gave us some great ideas for places to check out for fun night life activities. Then, we got some great input on our dining choices from some regulars, which led to a change in plans. After ordering another drink, I asked the lovely hostess if we might be able to get a table, even without reservations. She checked with the manager, who gladly accommodated us. So, we cancelled our reservations at *anonymous steakhouse*, and took a nice corner table for two near the window. We met the two marvelous ladies who would be serving us that evening, the lovely Chelsea and Ruby. They were on top of everything from the moment we sat down, to the moment we left. First, I perused the wine list, stopping almost immediately on the glass of Caymus Cabernet, and was informed of a special 40th anniversary liter bottle they had. Guess which way I went? Nectar of the gods! So now, it was time to actually consider food, now that the important choice had been made. We started with the Kung Pao Calamari, which was at least twice as good as imagined...a perfect heat level blended with the slightly sweet sauce over perfectly cooked, crispy calamari. Then...the harder decision came: our entrees. But, we selected the Grilled Breast of Chicken, and the Bone-In Filet. I don't believe in ordering chicken in any place known as "a place for steaks", but I have to say that it was mighty good. Well seasoned, cooked, accompanied and presented. It was an excellent choice for the bird lovers of the world. The filet...was PERFECT. Perfectly aged. Perfectly seasoned. Perfectly cooked. I ordered it medium rare and oscar style, and was amazed from the first bit to the last. I was going to lick the plate and chew on the bone, but was told that was not appropriate public behavior, so... With a steak that good, you probably could care less to hear about my side dish, but you get to anyway. I went with the sauteed spinach, which was super yummy. Perfectly cooked in a balsamic sauce. Needless to say, I will return here on my next trip up to Indy. Next time, I want to give the scallops a shot, even though it breaks my "only eat steak at a steakhouse" rule. So...ignore the previous review. If there were kinks before, they certainly have worked them out.

Can't say enough how fantastic dinner was! We went here for our 5th anniversary and they had made special menus that said happy anniversary at the top. Several of the staff wished us happy anniversary and that made the evening that much more special. The food was delicious. My wife had scallops and a small filet that were fantastic. The scallops were very sweet just the way they should be. I had the Mo's signature ribeye. I got it rare and the flavors were over the top. They gave us a complimentary dessert of creme bru le. I've never had a dessert that good!! No doubt we will be returning here several more times!!!

Great service from the person who refills your water, to the wait staff, and the manager. Felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. Fantastic food, truly loved the creamed corn and their mac 'n cheese, along with the great steaks. This was our first visit to Mo's but we will definitely return when we are in Indianapolis again!

Great friendly and relaxed atmosphere, nice menu, friendly staff and a fantastic single malt menu We were in town for the Saints pre-season game at Lucas Oil Stadium and staying in the area. The staff was very attentive, even when we stayed in more then thirty minutes after they closed. We had no idea that they had and certainly didn't get that impression from them. Food was grey. One of the guys in our group said his steak was the best he has ever eaten in his life. I might not go that far myself but the food was very very good. Great bar there with a nice single malt scotch menu. Corey is their malt guy and he know his business. As force, I like a peaty NLT occasionally and had a Laphroig. Lots of Macallan selections as well as probably another two dozen more. All in all. A great time there and wheni am in Indianapolis again, I will go back for sure.

I recently dined at Mo's for a work function. I was absolutely pleased with the service and food, especially for a big group. The servers were all very professional and efficient. I ordered the prime filet and I can honestly say it was the best steak I have ever had. Cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. I highly recommend the Mac and cheese on the side. It was pricy, but I would definitely return for a special occasion. It is located near the Hampton hotel downtown. It was easy for us to find parking.

I haven't been to Indy in a couple of years and I wanted a great meal for my clients. I read the reviews and scoured the menu and liked what I saw. I/we were not disappointed. The service from start to stop was 5 Diamond. The food was equally impressive. I fell in love with the Kung Pao Calamari. We tasted the menu in a variety of ways and it was fantastic at every course. Hats off to Johnny V, his staff and the gorgeous young lady that greeted us at the door. Definitely a hot spot for me when I'm in town.

Class all around at Mo's. From first to final course, the food was excellent. Coupled with a great atmosphere and wine, made for a memorable evening out with my wife.

Man, have I been stewing over this one. Firstly, please let me start by saying that the service was impeccable. From entering the restaurant to the time we left, we were VERY well taken care of. We started with the shrimp cocktail, which was good. The shrimp were large and sweet. They were far superior to other famous nearby shrimp cocktail. The cocktail sauce was okay, but not excellent. Salad course was the wedge, which was huge and very good. Delicious chunks of bleu cheese and bacon. Honestly, the salad was the best thing I had. The house salad left a lot to be desired. Boring and basic. Unremarkable. We placed our order for two 8-oz filets, medium, mine was ordered oscar style. Sides were french fries and grilled asparagus. Sadly, our steaks came out well done and, for the first time ever, we had to send them back. This is not why this is a poor review. They handled this situation with grace and they re-fired our ENTIRE ticket, so that we started with new steaks and fresh sides. The new steaks came out and were better prepared, but not perfect. Mine was still a little overdone and the other a lil underdone. We're relatively easy to please, so this was fine. We can go a lil either way, but the initial steaks were fully cooked with grey centers. The problem was the entire experience was unremarkable. There were no crazy exciting flavors. There was nothing that blew us away.

Wowza, this place. Disclaimer: this food might've tasted better since I went during a company dinner while we had someone's constant attention and I didn't have to pay for it.. Sooo... free AND amazing? I'll take it! (Wow, I'm cheap. But if you're reading specifically my reviews, you'll know that about me.) Bob. Oh Bob. He was our main man for the night. He made her there was a refilled drink in my hand, and I even talked about TRYING a drink with a friend, and he made sure I got it to try! By the way, this might sound like a love affair with Bob.. that's because I was. If anyone from Mo's reads this... BOB IN INDIANAPOLIS IS MY DREAM MAN! There, I said it. No shame here. Starters: THEIR CRAB CAKES ARE CHOCK FULL OF CRAB AND IT SHOULDN'T BE DONE ANY OTHER WAY! You can taste the sweetness of every piece of crab. I can't stand crab cakes when they're all breading and flair. This was a HUGE PATTY OF CRAB. That's what they gave me and that's all I wanted. (Too bad I shared. I love sharing, but dang, I wanted to eat it all.) Meal: I had the Dainty Lady: my choice of filet (4 oz.) and 2 bacon-wrapped scallops. It seemed like an incredibly small plate but boy oh boy it was good. And everyone else's food look amazing too! They're meat-heavy menu was AMAZING to me, but we did have a few vegetarians in our party, and they catered to them perfectly with pastas and roasted veggies. Favorite side dish EVER: Waverly's Creamed Spinach with Butternut Squash. It blew the entire meal OUT OF THE WATER. So good. So good. I'm still drooling about it. I just. I want to go back. And I will. I'm not THAT cheap, where I won't pay for amazingly good food and good service. I'M GOING BACK!

Great service, food was ok.. Wish the soups were served warmer, and my steak was cooked well done, when requested medium. However the service was excellent.

I ate at Mo's a couple weeks ago. I have not been there since they opened the new location on Maryland. The ambiance is very nice, however I don't like how people can see in the front of the restaurant and the tables are right near the windows. Makes it feel less private and less luxurious. Food was excellent though! I will return, just won't ask to be seated by the windows. Service was phenomenal!
