The food is pretty nice, but the service left a lot to be desired. Oh, our table service was fine, but the servers at the actual buffet seemed like they didn't want to be bothered. A group of us waited quite a long time for the brisket, while being ignored, and the line for the omelets was so long, we didn't bother. The brisket is good, the broccolini was cold but flavorful, the truffle macaroni was fine but needed a little kick, the desserts are uninspired and the gelato veers over toward ice cream, which is OK -- I like ice cream. Not sure it's worth $21 for the buffet and drink.

I have eaten at market table three times before and the food is excellent. So imagine my frustration as I sit here after making a reservation for Mother's Day to be told that "no they aren't open yet, and I guess there was a mix up". Really? You are a restaurant and you screw up Mother's Day reservation? Not a simple screw up but taking a reservation and confirming when you aren't even open at that time on the busiest brunch day of the year! I actually booked with a person, not via open table so there really is no excuse. So my advice is if you eat there, the food is good, but don't expect the reservation staff to understand complexities like opening hours.

I recently visited Market Table for the first time and was very impressed. I had the Sunday brunch menu which featured typical breakfast items, biscuits and gravy, as well as an awesome beef brisket and other made-to-order items. The quality of the food was very high, and the customer service was excellent, The young chef unexpectedly made us truffle mac'n'cheese when the manageress overhead us talking about it and I would rate it as dangerously addictive. The only thing holding me back from a full 5 stars is the price at $25 per head which may be too steep for some, however I am willing to pay for food and service of this quality and you will see me there again soon

What an awesome place. This was my first time visiting this place and it was just a great experience. We did their Thanksgiving day buffet. Everything that was on the buffet was cooked flawlessly and full of flavor. The variety was great and even offered things that I never had before, such as the leg of lamb. I think my favorite was the great selection of desserts. The server (if that's what you want to call him) kept our drinks full, and our table cleared. The whole place gives a warm and inviting modern vibe, which I just loved. The noise level wasn't bad either as the tables are spaced fairly decently apart from one another. I'll definitely be back to try their breakfast buffet.

Had an exceptional brunch visit on a Colts game Sunday! The food was fantastic with a wide variety of choices and the service was top notch. I arrived much earlier than my party and the hostess was kind enough to hook me up with a Bloody Mary that I enjoyed in the comfortable lobby which was totally decked out in comfy furniture and fine art. I shall return! Can't beat the brunch price which is around $17. The Conrad is $40 for brunch and was a huge disappointment. Market Table is where it is!

Who doesn't love a great brunch?! This place has a decent brunch buffet setup on weekends for around $15/person. I would recommend NOT going on a Colts Sunday like we did today. We found they were already out of the brisket (carving station), the cheeses were mangled and barely there, and they were running low on most everything else. Even the bathrooms were out of hand soap and paper towels. The omelets were great but required waiting in a long line since the chef didn't appear to have the multi-tasking skills to cook more than 1 at a time. Now for the positives: good hot coffee, awesome fresh fruit and yogurt including beautiful raspberries and blackberries, and a nice dessert bar with gelato :-) This place has potential to be great and I'm willing to chalk up this experience to an unexpectedly busy football Sunday. I'll give you one more chance, Market Table, since I'm always searching for a great brunch spot!

My wife and I love Market Table. We discovered it last year when we went there for a Mothers Day brunch. Our favorite part was the pasta bar. It was pricey but worth it. We went back a few months later and were a bit disapointed when they didn't have the pasta bar open. We asked the waiter about it and were told that the pasta bar was only for special occasions and they charge a lower price ($24.95 vs $34.95) when they dont have it set up. That made sense to us. We went back this past Sun for Easter brunch and were really looking forward to the pasta bar. We were disapointed to get there and find that there was no pasta bar! We were even more disapointed when our bill came and it was $34.95 per person. Don't get me wrong, the food is excellent and there are plenty of choices (egg and omelet bar, carving station, gelato station) but we didnt like paying the higher "holiday" price without getting the full experience, particularly since that was our favorite part! I still give it 4 stars, but they are gonna have to bring back that pasta bar to get that fifth star!

Very fresh food. Delicious and a nice variety for brunch. Service was a little slow but when you had your waiter they were very attentive. Light and airy atmosphere, wonderful for Sunday brunch.

I had a great lunch there today. There are so few non chain options in Indy, that this place stands out. It is a little out of the way but worth it.

Very impressed with the food and the service. The food is just as fresh as if we were at a farm, tender meat and eggs made to order. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and therefore the mimosas are delicious. The chef will come out and ask if everything is okay and the servers are very attentive as well. If I lived in Indy, I would be a regular at this place. Excellent food and service!

I had visited Indianapolis to drive on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and my company paid for me to stay at the Alexander hotel (which is a fantastic hotel!). My company paid for my breakfast here on my last day in Indianapolis, and I was a very pleasant farwell. The palce itself is really modern and nice, much like the rest of the hotel. It is very welcoming, and charming with it's modern colors, and upscale furniture garnishing the dinning area. Nice clean wodden tables with comfortable chairs. It was my first time here, and I was walked through on how to get my meal. They have an outstanding omelete area where they handmake an omelete with whatever ingredients you want that are availible. The omelet was really good, and I got a glass of Orange Juice that tasted really nice. I was short on time, but they brought my food out with haste and charged my food to my room without any issues. Overall; the price and quality of the food was just fantastic. The place itself is also really nice to be in. My entire experience was very pleasant, and if I ever do find myself in Indianapolis again, this hotel and all the places inside it, will be a definite stop, the Market Table included!

Excellent! The staff is friendly and extremely accommodating. They offer a large variety of dishes to satisfy everyone's taste buds. I look forward to dining here again.

I look forward to Sunday brunch all week long, and this week I stepped away from my usual place and met some friends for Market Table's Sunday brunch buffet. I'm glad we walked because I needed to exercise afterwards. A ton of food and great service for only $20, which includes coffee, tea, juice or lemonade! The highlights: -Made to order omelette or egg station with an option for egg whites only -Beef brisket at the meat carving station was a nice changeup from the usual ham or salmon option most places have -huge selection of gelatto that you can grab on the way out. -bloody mary bar option (for an upcharge) I was hoping they would have Eggs Benedict and was a little disappointed that they didn't, but everything I ate was fantastic. I can't wait to come back, and hope they offer outdoor seating once the weather warms up.

Oh my gosh, you guys. This is one heck of a brunch bar. Everything was so delicious. A great variety of foods and everything is top notch. This is not your typical hotel breakfast. Make sure to try a Hoosier Momma Bloody Mary too.

As part of a package at the Alexander, we had two free breakfasts here. Because it was a Sunday brunch, they upcharged us $3 each but considering that our beverages (a diet Pepsi and 2 glasses of OJ) were included, that's not a bad deal. The array of food was pretty impressive. I loaded up on protein and enjoyed the beef brisket. They had hot and cold areas, with a mix of breakfast and lunch items. It wasn't very busy and service was attentive but not annoying. I've heard it can get pretty busy on Colts Sundays so I'd recommend making a reservation on those days.

For a place called "Market Table," I've never found much on my table that seems to resemble food from a market. Instead, it's been tiny portions of overly bourgeois, overly-priced food that doesn't seem to incorporate much in the way of produce. But before I dive in, consider my limitations as a reviewer -- I'm a vegetarian, and my experiences at Market Table have always been dinners at fixed-menu events. So my experience is colored by that. Each time I've been to Market Table, though, I've left hungry and confused by what I had just eaten. Here's just a sampling of line-up I've experienced: -- Salad: Four leaves of lettuce and two sad-looking roasted cherry tomatoes. Does that even qualify as a salad, or the filling of a meatless BLT? -- One entree: a spoonful of flavorless risotto inside of a square-shaped pie crust. This does not qualify as dinner. -- Another entree: a spoonful of flavorless truffle-oil mac-n-cheese inside of what looked like a bamboo stick. I mean, what even is that? -- Everything else: Filled with meat or heavily fried. Just because it's fancy on the inside doesn't mean that it isn't still just another deep-fried thing, people. As I consumed the latter vegetarian entree, I remember looking over at one of the meat entrees, which had roasted rainbow carrots and parsnips on the side. Does anyone understand the logic behind serving roasted vegetables with the meat entree but not with the vegetarian entree? I've read reviews claiming that Market Table serves vegetarians well, so maybe I've just been the victim of inconsistent delivery. But with two misses and no hits, I won't be going back.

I guess I was misled by reading their website about what an experience at Market Table would be like. I love brunch and specifically singled out MT as my birthday brunch restaurant of choice. I was expecting something a little more... "swanky." Maybe my disappointment was partly due to the fact that I went during the breakfast-to-brunch transition time. There weren't many guests to serve. There was a point where I walked around the full perimeter of the open kitchen buffet area and no staff members were there. I was expecting more of an interactive, engaging brunch experience instead of me drifting around a couple times figuring out what to do. Food-wise there weren't any surprises... basic continental breakfast foodstuffs. A few staff members eventually came to man their stations. At the omelet station, my brunching companion was given an inquisitive look by the chef when he asked about getting avocado in his omelet. It doesn't seem like THAT outlandish of a request (Café Patachou does it flawlessly.) Some highlights: A very polite hostess and attentive waiter, a gelato bar, super crispy salt crusted potatoes, and THE BRISKET. Eat the brisket. With mustard.

Not a complete disappointment since service is excellent and place is in the chic Alexander hotel. But for $25 per person Sunday brunch buffett plus $7 bloody mary per glass, we were expecting a bit more food wise. Selection was thin and very ordinary. Probably the best part was the 12+ gelato flavors and a handful of excellent tasting cakes and pastries for dessert.

I can't believe this place doesn't have any reviews yet??!! We went here on a Sunday for brunch. There were three of us. It was a Colts home game Sunday, so we were amidst a sea of blue, which I loved. First of all, this restaurant is in the fabulous Alexander hotel. Many thumbs up already. The restaurant is very open, well lit with natural sunshine through the huge windows, very modern decor and a buffet....but, not your typical buffet. Most dishes are fresh and being made literally before your eyes! There is a cold section of the buffet with yogurt, granola, fruit, salads, etc. I highly recommend the chicken salad.....LOVED it! I also recommend the fruit flavored yogurt and granola. Super delish. Next up is the hot buffet. This consisted of a made to order omelet station, sausage patties/links, bacon, grilled veggies, pork loin and chicken with house made sauces, breakfast pizzas, fingerling potatoes, french toast, etc. All was heavenly and nothing disappointed. Lastly is the dessert/gelato bar. The cookies were huge and SO good and the gelato flavor options were endless! Super yummy. All of this for approximately $15/person with $5 mimosa and bloody mary's on special. Further, the chefs are inside of the square shaped buffet cooking food throughout brunch and placing it out fresh for your dining delight. If you mention how much you love something, they take it personally and thank you. I even got a full explanation of how my complimented item was cooked. LOVE that! Heads up, this fabulous weekend brunch ends at 1pm on the weekend, so bust a move and get there as soon as you can!! It is so worth it!

Market Table was the best part of Indy for us, hands down, no joke. We were staying at The Alexander hotel, joining to Market Table, and were starving after our flight, and didn't have tons of time to venture around the city yet so we walked down to Market Table to peruse the menu. Lucky for us, they really accommodated vegetarians and had fresh veggies and fruit, so we were hooked at first sight of the menu. Our server came over and explained that they have a lunch buffet and asked if we would like to try that instead, to have a wide variety of options so we did so. We had the best salad of our lives. There were so many fresh veggies and it was all so flavorful. After, we were treated to a great pasta dish, made with fresh greens, and garlic sauce. It was made right in front of us, tailoring the dish to what we wanted. Lastly, and most importantly, there was a gelato bar, with several different types of gelato and toppings. I opted for the chocolate gelato, simple and savory. We found ourselves the rest of the time we were in Indy wanting to go back to Market Table for our other meals, but felt like we should experience other places. Nothing met the service and flavor of Market Table, and anything else was just downhill.

The Brunch is amazing. As a resident of downtown Indianapolis you don't have many brunch choices. Market Table has been a breath of fresh air for my husband and I and I even take my parents. We love the ambiance and the fact that it is never really crowded. They have great variations and most of the food is cooked to order which is even better. I also like the fact that you can make reservations so you don't have to wait.

Its never fair to compare all restaurants on the same scale. Some places charge a premium price while others are dirt cheap. So the main question to ask yourself after eating anywhere is, "did i get my money's worth." Lets see how Market Table answers that question. $27 for Sunday Brunch. First lets cover the pro's. The omelette station is fantastic. Lots of fresh toppings and the chefs prepare a fluffy, airy omelette that is not overcooked. This is significant because it seems most brunch omelette stations never get this right. Kudos, market table. They had a nice salad bar with plenty of fresh ingredients, a carving station with melt-in-your-mouth brisket, and a dessert station to die for: gourmet gellAato, cheesecake, and pies. Now lets do the cons. The selection is simply small and lacking in premium items. For the price they charge I would expect seafood items like shrimp cocktail...or some fancy kind of eggs benedict....or Mimosas. Everything they make available is tasty and made with quality ingredients...but at the same time very basic. So whats the final verdict? You'll not walk away hungry from the market table. There's plenty of good food to fill you up. At the same time, the premium price they charge goes beyond the basic fare they are serving ...which left me a little disappointed. I'd be happy to eat here again if someone else picked up the tab.

I came here for the Sunday Brunch and I actually like it. Parking is a breeze since I just the hotel's valet or the huge City Center parking garage. If you get lucky, you can use street parking on Sunday and you're right in front of the place. It's an open concept Sunday brunch wherein you can see people cooking and making your delish brunch right in front of you. Their brisket is delish, numerous gelato selection, pastries and cakes to die for, omelette station, smoked salmon, etc. Plus for $15/pp?!?!? This place is so reasonable!

I have been here more than once and the food as well as the atmosphere is lovely. The efficiency of front of the house needs major improvement. Every time I go here it's a major cluster to get a table and today's visit was no exception. We arrived at 10:30, waited in a line of 6 people before we got to the hostess. She was very flustered and seemed overwhelmed. It was 10:39 when we reached the hostess stand and were turned away because they had 9 reservations at 11. Normally I would be very understanding but the restaurant was maybe a quarter full and had over 20 empty tables not counting the tables that became open during our wait. It is only buffet so the serves only need to provide beverages and clear dishes. This seemed to big of a job for the staff as during our 20 minutes inside there were at least 3 tables that needed to be reset. I love this place. I want to see it succeed but it sure does need some front of the house staff training. We left and went to the breakfast buffet at the JW, where it was more than 50% full and we were seated and eating in 10 minutes. It's a self serve buffet Market Table, the easiest place to be a server.

Weekend brunch is a must! Little pricey ($16), but it's like the Christmas morning of buffets. Little prime rib to go w/ your fresh omelet? Sure. Pizza and hand-scooped Gelato before noon? Go for it. Breakfast staples like pancakes and biscuits & gravy is not what this is about. Gluttony is more like it. And sometimes a little sin is OK.

I went to Sunday bunch at Market Table at the Cerulean, I have mixed feelings about my first time visit here so I am starting off with a modest 3-star rating. I feel like I made a huge mistake by going here for my first time on Colts game day however the restaurant management probably also made a mistake by not being prepared. We made a reservation to dine here in advance at 11:30 for their Sunday brunch buffet. It was pretty busy (not terribly though but I am sure more than they were used too). We waited about 15 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation. Once we were able to dig in and eat it became very frustrating. There were long lines at the omelet bar (you probably had to wait another 10-15 minutes there) meanwhile many other items were simply out of stock or behind. I went for an omelet and decided the line was taking too long so I moved on to the french toast area (and again no french toast). I was told it would take about 5 more minutes. I came back and french toast was back in stock but now all the syrup was gone and I was told it would be a few more minutes for syrup (and then at the next station I waited again for ketchup, etc, etc). I was really disappointed to find the brisket was all out for the day (before noon) and many other items on the buffet were just simply never stocked. At this point I was not really happy and you might think this review sounding dangerously close to 1-2 stars but then as we waited and it got after 12 (and closer to game time) the experience got a lot better. You could actually get to the omelet bar and then I discovered what was the saving grace of this dining experience (as well what probably saved this review a star or two) - the mussels. One of the cooks was making mussels fresh to order. He even took the time to teach us how to make them at home as he sautéed in butter with fresh herb, deglazed with wine, and tossed in a tomato based sauce. They were superb and worth the price of the brunch alone. I went back again and had a second service (made fresh again) and that allowed me to leave with a full belly and satisfied mindset. I will add that the cooking staff was all really friendly and accommodating (the bunch sort setup of has an open kitchen layout where you watch much of the food being prepared). They were simply understaffed (no runners out front keeping on top of things so customers didn't have to ask the cooks for every little thing). I will try again someday and revisit this review but I probably would not recommend going on a game day.
