Excellent hand-breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches! Not heavy but a light breading. How did I never know of this place before? Great little local lunch place near uIndy.

This is one of those cozy little diners you just happen to run into on the way to a different destination. Nice, southern vibe to it. Beautiful old style decor. Very nice servers, and food was out within 5 minutes. This place has some of the best golden fries I've ever had. Crispy, hot, with a hint of seasoning. For the burger, bun was toasted and buttered, BBQ pork was sweet and definitely tasty. Price is cheaper than other surrounding restaurants ($7.25, and $7.90 after tax). Woohoo loving it!

I've passed this place a million times, but had never stopped. A friend encouraged me to go with her for lunch and it was very good. Staff are very friendly, but it did take us a while to see our server after we were seating. Other than that, she was really on top of everything. The fried green tomatoes are very good. Spinach and artichoke dip is not worth it. Seemed store bought with mediocre, half stale chips. Breaded Tenderloin is wonderful! I said, "I feel like I'm eating a pork cloud." The breading is crisp and light. The meat inside is tender and flavorful. Philly Cheesesteak is yummy. The beef is really tender and it has a lot of nice mushrooms. Their fries aren't great. A small portion of anemic looking wee potatoes. It's okay, though, because the sandwiches are so big you really don't need them. I'll hit this place up again!

Charming, small-town diner decor. Friendly waitress. Got a burger, which was very good. Fries were also tasty, with some sort of seasoning I enjoyed. Reasonably priced. Will be back!

So delicious. One of our new favorites. The tenderloin is one of the best in town, for sure. Great pie too. Perfect little mom and pop kind of blue haired type joint. We love it!

had breakfast there this morning. Nice clean building on the south side of INDY. service was prompt and speedy. Food was your good home cooked style. biscuits and gravy were good, not Milktooth good, but average. Very good portions for the money. reminds me a little of Flap Jacks, but I think the prices are a little better. Did notice that they do serve beer and wine. Kids welcome but it seemed like an older crowd. really no complaints.

I am a big fan of this restaurant. It has a lot of comfort food. I haven't tried it all but what I have eaten, I liked. First up, the biscuits and gravy. They are right up there with the best I've eaten anywhere, especially the gravy. Occasionally, the biscuits can be a little overcooked, but mostly they are fresh, soft, and hot. I also love their Tex-Mex breakfast. For lunch or dinner, I've never had better potato soup anywhere. It is thick, rich, and delicious. I also like their turkey Manhattan and their spaghetti. Prices are reasonable. Service is friendly. The place is clean and comfortable but they always have annoying country music playing in the background. It's a little too redneck for my preference. But that's kind of minor if all you want is good food and good service.

Have visited this restaurant quite a few times over the years and decided to try it out last night before a movie. As always they do a good job in basic grill/diner type foods. Had the appetizer mushrooms (with cocktail sauce), red wine (very surprised to see they serve alcohol (beer & wine only), and salmon (which comes with two sides and bread). Amazingly good prices for all the entrees such as the salmon being around $10.00. Good choice for families along with single diners since its a big restaurant (tables on two sides along with counter seats). Free wifi! Staff provides good service. If you are looking for simple diner food its definitely the place to go - although I believe they close at 900p every night.

Clean, decent greasy spoon. Good place to go for breakfast when you are hungover. Not that I do that sort of thing. I've only been for breakfast but I've always had a good meal. Nice size portions for a good price.

My wife and I ate here and we enjoyed it. The interior is pretty cool. It's decorated with a lot of vintage things. Our waitress was nice. We ordered breakfast food for dinner. My wife ordered her usual, eggs and toast, and I ordered my usual, french toast and eggs. Both meals were delicious. We also were able to save $2 off our bill with a coupon that we printed off from their website. Their website is: madisongrillindy.com We liked this place so much, that we will definitely go back again.

On Sat 7/28 had a chance with a buddy to stop by and grab some lunch. Both of us went the steak route. I went with the NY Strip, my buddy with the Ribeye. Along with that came a salad and a side along with warm bread and cinnimon butter. Both meals were right on target and timely. The salads come out and were very nice and the appropriate amount of time was permitted to eat at a nice pace before our meal was sent out. Both steaks were perfect and very tasty. Overall a great meal, with a prompt and good server.

This is definitely a Mom & Pop place. Nothing pretentious or ostentatious about this joint. Just good food. Well prepared, nicely portioned and nicely priced. Lunch for two was $17;including the burdensome tax you must pay for eating out in Marion County. My buddy had a chicken and noodle special. It came with 2 sides and a mini loaf of wheat bread. This guy is pretty finicky and he enjoyed everything. In an effort to "watch my diet" I ordered a salad. Of course it was a Cobb Salad. That is, in addition to a big bowl of chopped Romaine lettuce it was covered with wide columns of the other ingredients. Bleu cheese crumbles, chopped egg, diced ham and tomato and crisp bacon pieces. And I don't mean Ba cos. Now that is my kind of salad. Enough veggies to assuage your guilt and enough good stuff for you to enjoy it.

Hey breaded tenderloin lovers! Read on. We stopped in Madison Grill recently for 2 reasons: fried catfish and breakfast served all day. Our super-friendly server, after learning that it was our first time there, gave us a few recommendations and the one that she really stressed was the breaded tenderloin. Thank goodness I listened to her because it was really great! A generous sized piece of pork, pounded to the right thickness, very tender, thickly battered and fried extra crispy. The bun was just ho-hum but the quality of the fried pork and the "works" toppings made up for that. (see the picture I posted.) The hubby got the fried catfish dinner. He was happy with it. They only serve catfish filets and we prefer the whole catfish but I tried it and thought it was really good. Neal P's review on Yelp pretty much sums up the down-home atmosphere of this place. Looking through their menu I noticed that all of the food prices are extremely reasonable. They also carry some bottle beer and some wine by the glass. The beers we ordered sadly were not cheap but they weren't over-priced. Would we go back? Yes. The tenderloin alone is reason to return. And, we didn't try anything from the breakfast menu. And, they have fried green tomatoes.

This is an average mom-and-pop type of place. The food is pretty good, and the service is satisfactory. I've never had a "bad" meal at Madison Grill, but never one I'd rave about. To be honest, I couldn't tell you what I've ordered in the past. While I like the place, it would never be my first choice. However, it is not a bad, and relatively inexpensive place to grab lunch.

This is a surprisingly decent diner on the south side of Indy. The grouper sandwich is pretty good. The same breading is used on the fried green tomatoes, which are OK. The tomatoes themselves don't seem to be all that flavorful, but the breading is good. French fries and grilled cheese are good. It's a diner, so I don't expect gourmet, and we will be back!

My sister just moved to Indy, and we stumbled upon this as our first try at a local eatery. We started with breakfast...and were not disappointed. They have the BEST pancakes ever, and I would recommend ordering them with blueberry topping. We returned for dinner a couple days later, and discovered their awesome breaded tenderloin. Fried green tomatoes were a homey appetizer, but I wish they were served with a more interesting dip than ranch dressing. Nice menu selection...and I recommend the banana cream pie. We will visit this place again I'm sure. (I want to try their prime rib weekend special.). Servers are very friendly...kid friendly place as well. Try it if you don't want fancy...but want a comfortable experience.

This used to be a Sunshine Cafe. It's now a non-chain restaurant. Friendly down-home service. I'm not sure what American restaurant to compare it to. Better and homier than a Denny's. A little higher-class than a Stake-n-Shake. Warmer ambience. Really good hamburgers, salads, and chicken dishes. I'm more into ethnic food these days, but when I'm in the mood for regular American cusine, this is a nice spot to eat with family or friends. This place used to be a Sunshine Cafe. But it's now independently owned.
