This review was very hard to write. Late Harvest Kitchen has some excellent qualities that all great restaurants desire. Outstanding service, wonderful ambiance, locally sourced food, and killer toffee pudding. The problem is the food is very disappointing. Some might say a two star rating is a bit harsh while still praising other aspects of LHK, but the food is nothing special. In addition, the price makes it impossible to bear. While I might go back to get some Toffee Pudding and a cocktail, I do not plan on eating there again.

Service and decor are great. I had this cold brussel spout salad. It was made from shredded brussel prouts and had sieved egg in it as well as some sort of hard cheese shavings. They get points on this because it was so unique. Had the pork cheeks. It was OK. Not bad. A bit salty. The other person in my party had the pork chop which I thought was much better. They had these bone marrow fries with Parmesan and jalapeno slices. This was crazy good. I mean really awesome. The signature pudding is so good too. Rich as heck though. But very decadent . Are you sure this is Indianapolis?

This place was great. From the menu to the wine list, it didn't disappoint. Great ambiance both inside and out. If it's the right season, I really recommend you reserving a table outside in their patio area. Waiters were professional and attentive. Food was amazing and the rib-eye steak (locally sourced) was one of the best I've ever had in Indiana. Try some cocktails before dinner and then ease into a wonderful dining experience!

Loved it! We had dinner on a weeknight and it was perfect! The service, the ambiance, the food... All wonderful! My date & I split a wedge salad - delicious! For dinner I had the salmon with grits and he had their famous pork chop. It was huge! We could have split that too. But I am so glad I got the salmon! Dessert was the family's toffee pudding. It was served a little too warm bit tasted delicious. So rich!

Had an exceptional experience dining here with my ex-boss. What a choice of venue made, pat on my own back! I started off with the Passport drink due to multiple readers recommending it. It's vodka drink flavored with basil. While I could taste the basil they didn't put the leaves in the drink. I think I'd have liked to see that. I also thought the drink should have been stronger. Note that you need to ask for their bread as it says in the menu. My server was courteous enough to notice that I was waiting for my boss and asked me if I would like so bread. Good job! After my boss arrived we were given a tour of the menu and brief talk about how the ingredients are carefully sourced. We tried the fried green tomato flatbread which was awesome. For my meal I tried the rabbit biscuits and gravy which tasted awesome! Biscuits and gravy is not an easy thing to innovate upon, and the restaurant has done it quite well. There are various hidden flavors, likely rosemary and others; the gravy was excellent not thick, just moist enough. The rabbit meat was a little hard to find though :). We finished the meal with the yelper recommended sticky toffee pudding. The server was smart enough to advise us to share it. It's huge but it's insanely delicious. How I wished there was one more scoop of ice cream on the top. About the ambience, The music in a classy place like this should be discreet and soft. That was not the case. Also the patio looked amazing but only if I had spotted it earlier. Overall a great experience: Service: 5 Food: 4 ( off for the liquor and scarce amount of rabbit meat) Ambience: 4

At first blush its a hip and attractive spot, contemporary in style and comfortable patio somewhat secluded form the busy-ness around with plants and flowers. Food is eclectic with unusual offerings as one might expect in this price range- $30-40 pp not inluding alcohol. I guess my first offense was the waiter cracking open a new, tannic and quite off putting pinot noir. Sorry Kris, I don't expect the best but it was just undrinkable. It was kindly replaced by a suitable merlot or cab, I forget. The fried oysters were quite good, crispy outside and rare inside. This was followed up by the Wedge salad and then the indescribable. I don't hesitate to give my heart a jolt every now and then so here was a bone-in ribeye ordered rare, topped with a sunny side up egg and beef bone to scoop out the marrow. Sorry to report but the fat content in the rib eye was so high, I found very little of it edible. The ones I did, combined with a bit of egg and marrow were sumptuous. Lastly was the best part of the meal and one the restaurant is known for, sticky toffee pudding. 10/10 pts. on the dessert alone even though I thought the richness of the pudding eviscerated the whipped cream and left me wanting for premium vanilla ice cream. So, for those listening. 1- Don't put the worst foot forward by offering a bottom shelf wine and charge $10-12 per glass. 2- If you like something, Yelp it. If you don't... well, ditto. Cheers.

I have been here several times and always leave satisfied. My only complaint is they are not open for lunch! The food is always fantastic! Local, fresh and always leaves your taste buds tingling with enjoyment. The service is wonderful, they are knowledgable and really cater to your needs. They make you feel as though you are the most important customer. I have enjoyed many glasses of wine here as well, they have a nice selection. The patio feels secluded while being in the middle of a ton of shopping. Definitely recommend visiting Late Harvest!

You must try the pork belly appetite r and be very careful with the large but delicious portions! We tried the fires with Jalapeños and cauliflower! Overall, the service was great and do yourself a favor and get in there while they still have the seasonal strawberry shortcake!!

Really liked our dinners and of course the sticky toffee dessert had us scraping up the bottom of the dish. My husband thought some of the entrees could have been priced a little lower. But he loved everything he ate.

I visited the Late Harvest twice on a trip to Indy this past week. The first was for desert and wine with two friends and the second was with a group of 16 close collegues. Both times the service was excellent in all regards. The meal was very well prepared and presented. The pork chop was excellent. The sticky toffee pudding desert was amazing and will make me return on each future trip to Indy.

This place has it all. I mean ALL. Where to begin?? The food. The food is spectacular. I've run the menu a bit in my handful of dinners plus a few carry out occasions. I have yet to find an item that didn't make my eyes pop out of my head. Delicious is an understatement. What's my favorite you ask? Drop a pin on the menu. There are a few things I haven't at least tried, but not many. The Pork Chop was out of this world. Perfectly tender and I can't even tell you how intense my love is for the bacon marmalade/kraut that accompanies. The Rabbit Biscuits and Gravy practically turned me into Elmer Fudd. I'm always thinking about chasing that dish down. I need it now. In my core. The General Tso's Pork Belly. The vegetables almost outshine the pork belly. How does that happen? Nothing puts pork belly in the corner. Except maybe those vegetables. The entree portions are pretty big, but don't skip one of the shareable sides. The Potatoes Minneapolis is absolutely divine. Take it home and in the morning fry up an egg to put over that baby. Best breakfast you could wish for. (I should note that was a server's suggestion I will be endlessly grateful for.) Also, never, ever, ever, walk out of LHK without at least a bite of the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Who am I kidding? Who can have just one bite of this mouth heaven? The service - flawless and fun. These guys know their menu and have opinions. Ask them if you can't decide. They won't steer you wrong. Also, they enjoy being right. Don't forget to tell them how right they were when they stop by to enjoy your happy smile. They deserve it. The restaurant itself is simply gorgeous. I love the intimacy of the bar and the elegance of the patio the best. Not a bad seat in the house here. Go grab the first seat you can. Order everything. Die happy.

The Service: When we first arrived, no one was at the front to greet us. It took five minutes for someone to appeared randomly out of a back room and ask if we had reservations. We did, so we were then seated and met our friends. Luckily, they were seated quickly due to our reservation. A nice gentlemen came over to fill our water glasses, then, we had to wait five more minutes for our waiter to come over. He was very loud and went on about how the menu changes every day and about what was being served that night (even though the menu was exactly the same as when my husband looked it up weeks ago). It just seemed like a pretentious speech that went on forever. We emailed ahead, as we do with many restaurants to see if the chef is up for the challenge of making us a vegan dish. Many chefs we've asked to do this actually are really excited and up for the challenge. Late Harvest's chef said that when we come in to ask the server what can be made vegan, and that he would make us up something special. We told the server this, and he pretty much ignored our request saying since there is one vegetarian dish on the menu, the chef would not make something special. When we asked what could be made vegan, the waiter didn't seem to know much about the menu in terms of animal ingredients. We went back and forth for a few minutes trying to figure out what we could and could not eat. First he'd say something could be made vegan, and the a minute later, he would correct himself. He had to ask the chef several times and literally a few minutes before our food arrived, he said, "Oh, sorry, The Potatoes Minneapolis are made with a clarified butter. We can just fry up some potatoes in canola oil." We were starving at this point and agreed. The Worst Part of the Night's Service: The main thing that stuck out to my husband and I was when our waiter refilled my husband's water glass. He reached over the table with his arm literally a centimeter away from my face. I had to back up, and he never said "Excuse me" or apologized. For a restaurant that has "daily" specials and where the waitstaff take the effort to remove your salad forks, we were flabbergasted when this happened. The waiter came by and asked us if we wanted dessert and my husband said, "I'm sure there's probably nothing for us to eat." The waiter laughed and said, "Yeah, we should have a sorbet as it's summer, but we don't. We replaced it with a sundae, sorry limited menu space." Then, he gives us one check. He never even asked us if we all wanted to split it, so we have to wait more to get his attention. He rudely and loudly look our cards and said, "Which one goes on what card." We explained it to him, and we finally got separate checks. The Food: We ordered three things: Potatoes Minneapolis (which were switched last minute for French Fries), a side of vegetables, and the North African Vegetable. Overall, it had little flavor. With how much the waiter seemed to brag about how fancy the food was, it seemed like the food should've at least had some seasoning in it besides salt. Let's break it down by dish: -French Fries: Now, we don't expect french fries to be spectacular. They're simply fried potatoes, but at least don't over cook them. It seemed like the grease that they were fried in was burnt. Sadly, they just threw a couple slices of raw jalapenos on top with a ton of salt. No other seasoning. At least it was a large portion? Sigh. -North African Vegetable Tagine Couscous with golden raisins, feta cheese, apricot chutney, charmoulas: We got this without feta and and butter. We were so excited to try this. Ugh, what a disappointment. While the portion size was large, they barely gave us any couscous or apricot chutney. The vegetables were fresh and cooked well, and we while enjoyed the sweetness from the apricot sauce, the dish was so flavorless. This type of dish calls for mix of African spices, and it didn't have any of that. What a let down... Not worth $18 dollars at all. -Roasted Vegetables: These are the same vegetables that come in the North African Vegetable Tagine, seasoned the same, so if you bought that, don't waste your money here. The vegetables include, carrots, mushrooms, cauliflower, broccoli, and green beans. We didn't expect the vegetables to have a strong flavor, but these were just so greasy and bland. The carrots and the cauliflower were the best part of it. Overall, if it wasn't for our nice friends, it would've been a terrible night. The rude waiter was loud and made a huge deal that we were vegan. He lacked the manners and skills to be a good waiter. We never felt welcome. The service was slow, and the food was bland and overpriced. One dish and two sides with tip for $45 is not what we want to spend our hard earned money one, especially considering we both felt sick afterwards from everything swimming in oil. Needless to say, we won't ever be returning.

Everything is delicious here. Food is amazing from appetizers to desserts. You can't go wrong! Jalapeño bone marrow fries, rabbit, and sticky toffee pudding. Don't think twice, eat here. Oh, and sit outside and ask for Jason to play his blues music.

This is one of my favorite restaurants on the north side. The restaurant is bright and modern with an awesome patio. The patio is the perfect place for a cocktail or light dinner on a cool summer night. It's like a tiny oasis in the middle of a mall parking lot. It feels like you are in a garden in the country. I am a beer guy. I rarely choose a cocktail over a pint but this place has some of the best cocktails I've ever had. They do some very creative things. Their Rosemary lemonade cocktail is my favorite but the jalapeño martini / margarita thing is pretty awesome too. The food is seasonal and the menus constantly changes. I love the pork belly appetizer and the shaved brussels sprout salad. The caviar pie is rich a decadent. Their pork chop is a perfect staple dish. It's a hearty porch chop the size of a t bone steak with a bacon marmalade on top. There are very few things better than pork topped with more pork. They also do some amazing things with fish. There are always so many awesome options it's hard to decide what to eat

I had such a wonderful time at Late Harvest! The restaurant is gorgeous, the wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is out of this world. We went here for Northside Nights and it was a great experience. I started out with a Goose Island Sophie ($8) as we decided what we wanted to eat, and had an Old Fashioned cocktail midway through the meal with Maker's Mark ($12). The drinks are a bit expensive, but why not live a little at such a nice restaurant. We had three courses, first starting out with a shaved Brussels sprout salad with sieved egg, almonds, Parmesan, and a citrus vinaigrette. It was great! Took lots of chewing but tasted great. For the main course, I picked the pork cheeks with vegetable risotto and pine nut gremolata. Out of this world! It was SO tasty. I highly recommend it. We ended on a delicious sticky toffee pudding that I'm still thinking about right now. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and there's even an expansive outside eating area with a fireplace and sunset viewing. Late Harvest is the perfect place for a first date or celebration.
Excellent food! Very slow service, but they comped the item that took so long. For the price, I'll probably not return.

I concur with many recent reviewers--3.5 stars. A+ for the toffee pudding, drinks (passport and & Dreams cocktails), and also the coffee. Food was good, but the pork roast and pork cheek entrees needed more salt. We don't get out to the north side much, but if we do, I'd go again. Service was excellent. Love the use of local ingredients.

Sooooo...this has been on my restaurant bucket list for awhile and although it was a Tuesday night, they were hoppin' and I was worried we would not get a table. Luckily we did. Admittedly though, when we arrived, I was overwhelmed by how super loud it was. Literally, every single person must have had something very important to say, no table was empty and everyone seemed to be talking at least one or two octaves above normal so it seemed like everyone was YELLING. I have a pretty loud voice but needed to yell across my 2.5 feet table to my hubby just to express "Oh my good Lord, it's loud in here". One thing about a nice loud restaurant -- usually the food is good, considering it was packed on a Tuesday night. That being said, NOTHING about it was romantic. We were seated at a place where the servers come and go through a lot and every single time, Erich's seat was bumped. We moved the table closer to the booth and me and it continued to happen. It was annoying. They weren't being careful and never said "so sorry" or "excuse me". We brushed it off. Our server, while very well informed, was not necessarily "friendly". He was good though. He knew his wines and recommended a fabulous red by the glass and didn't serve us the last couple of ounces due to sediment. I like the detail. He was great with explaining the menu, expressed his favorites, made solid recommendations and it made it very easy to order. We weren't rushed through the process and I began to settle in (despite the noise). Erich ordered the whole fish, which they filet table side for you. It was baked with Thai chili seasoning. Our server did the filet but there were some pin bones as we began eating. It was done well enough and we enjoyed the flavors. They were great and the fish was cooked perfectly. I got the pork cheeks with the risotto. It was soooo good, tender and filling. VERY rich but underseasoned in terms of salt/pepper. I had to ask for them so I could add it. I did try it first but it definitely was missing that pepper flavor. It was perfect once I got those on there. We also started with some great options. The squash soup was flavorful and delicious. I really enjoyed it. It is not cream based, which was a little different but the squash came all the way through and it was soooo good. The brussel sprout salad was the star of the night. Hubby ordered it and I was jealous all evening. He let me taste it and I kept coming back to steal more bites. I would get that again for sure! Overall, a great date night option though be aware of the noise level and busy-ness of the restaurant. Service did not suffer but I was especially glad when the man who was sitting to the right of me on the sharable bench left. He was the loudest person in the place. I just love having so many non-chain options these days and I'm glad to check mark this off the list. I'm sure we will be back at some point.

First of all, it was one of a Northside Nights weekend, when we visited Late Harvest by taking a friend of V's advice on their cocktail named "Passport." Indeed, "Passport" was delicious; it was served with a few grapes and tasted refreshing and smooth. This drink could be potentially dangerous though since I could drink it down so easily. Sadly, I don't even recall what I had as my main dish; I do remember thinking to myself, I would come back for the cocktail "Passport" but not for their dishes. I do recall that I was impressed how they incorporate locally grown / processed ingredients into their dishes. I must try their dish again to conclude what to categorize Late Harvest, as simply my cocktail stop or good for date nights' and/or fine gatherings.

Known for the Sticky Toffee Pudding - if you like toffee & butter, it's a must have. If not, skip dessert. I've had lovely seafood dishes & my dinner companions have enjoyed the meat entrees as well. My favorite is the shaved brussel sprout salad and that's one heck of a compliment since I despise those round little green nuggets. They somehow make them taste great! Warning: Do NOT order pasta here - it's awful. Thick, gummy, bland. Go with a different option and you'll be much happier.

I love the fact that the menu changes every day. Last time I went I got the Beef Cheek risotto, grilled veggies, and beef tongue poutine. The two sides were large enough to share with many of my coworkers. We actually ate the sides leftovers between 3 people the next day for lunch. There is a nice ambience in the restaurant. They're very accommodating as well. We had a last minute reservation of 10 seats and modified to 12 seats again 10 minutes prior to the reservation time and they went ahead with our request. I felt a bit rude because some of our group staggered in and we were all sitting there for a long time -- longer than we should have been there, however it gave us time to eat the delicious toffee pudding (i would suggest saving room for this!!!) and they were still very nice to our group, they even planned prior to us asking that we would be splitting the check up and they let us do that. Will definitely be returning.. probably with a smaller group enxt time.

I will definitely come back. Great outdoor patio, excellent menu with a lot of variety and fantastic service. The food was really good, very fresh and plentiful. Thought their prices were good too and the cocktails u was good. The fried oysters were perfect and the pork belly with vegetables were awesome too. Large portions!

Late Harvest Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants in the Keystone at the Crossing area. I love their use of local , fresh, and seasonal ingredients. While there is no seperate gluten free menu, and the regular menu doesn't note which items are GF, a handful of the items are naturally GF or the Chef was able to modify the meal to be GF. The shave asparagus salad was very fresh and the smoked almonds, sieved egg, and citrus vinaigrette provided a nice flavor that complemented the asparagus. The roasted half chicken was an extremely generous portion that provided two meals. The chicken was cooked well. It was very moist and seasoned well. I liked the fact that the top layer of skin was initially removed and the mushrooms were place on the chicken meat and then covered with the skin. The smashed potatoes and pan gravy were a nice accompaniment. LHK is nice place for a meal, especially the patio on a nice night. The inside has low lighting and a darker interior giving off a sophisticated and romantic vibe. Due to the high ceilings, it can get a bit noisy at times. I would highly recommend making reservations, especially during Thursday - Sunday, else you find yourself waiting over an hour for a table.

Many good reviews here, of this formal dining establishment. It's good formal dining, but almost at each edge, it fails the test of outstanding, and sometimes fails at being very good. First, if you're vegetarian, this fact isn't respected here. Understand that they add meat ingredients or sprinkle things like pork parts onto fried potatoes without telling you. Meat eaters won't care, but your veggie friends do. Secondly, their dessert menu is for carb loading in a very serious way. If you were in any way looking for desserts that were under perhaps 80g net carbs, you're screwed. Not even a fruit plate or cheeses, etc. The few items offered were good, don't get me wrong. The quality of the meals were good, in terms of ingredients and presentation. This said, my ahi steaks were served almost cold. I didn't order sashimi. They were just a tad above lukewarm. Very good cuts and flavor, but in an attempt to serve things all at once, things suffer. One of the guests ordered some rolls. They showed up late in the meal, and not enough of them to satisfy demand. No one complained about the food, but all at our table of six felt the dessert menu needs work. Their signature dish has enough sugar in it to power a diesel F350 for several miles. Credit due, their coffee and teas were delicious. Go with a fat wallet and lowered expectations if you have experience in fine dining. Excellence comes by doing everything right, or leaving an alternate reality perception that everything was done right, a halo effect. I felt manufactured.

Dined at Late Harvest Kitchen tonight and loved the place. Just moved back to IN from CA and it's nice to see while I was gone for 5 years Indy got some legit restaurants. For starters we had the General Tso's Pork Belly. It was amazing. Nothing like fake American Chinese "General Tso's" flavor. We also had the Chicken Liver Pate plate which was surprisingly amazing. Final appetizer was the Fried Oysters. Great flavor and sauce on these. For my entree I had the Hand Made Linguine. I definitely recommend giving this a try. My wife had the chicken plate which she wasn't in love with but our friends did like their fish dishes (Striped Bass and the whole Fish of the day plate) the service was good and it's a nice restaurant inside. Definitely give this place a try. I know I will be back multiple times.

They had me at "local and seasonal", which rarely goes with upscale and elegant, but Late Harvest Kitchen does it quite elegantly. Caviar pie sported four colorful types of roe perched on top of a slice of cream cheese and garnished with capers. You wind up making tiny salty colorful sandwiches that complement white wine. As long as you are not expecting real caviar, which is in a different price category, quite enjoyable. Whole roasted fish was my favorite (frieking kids out with fixed staring eyes). Mild and flavorful. Roasting cauliflower with almonds and raisins was brilliant. Very personable service. Prompt to the point that my company thought slightly pushy. I am fine with getting bits of food off the table and glasses refilled immediately. And one last comment in case management monitors reviews: the napkins that are probably intended to create home-spun atmosphere leave a lot of lint on anything dark. Looking forward to return visits, long and relaxed ones, with time to sample wine and local beer selections.

The Pork Belly was worth 5-stars as well as the service and calm atmosphere. But the Brussel Sprout salad (really just an elite coleslaw) was 2-stars and the fries were cooked perfectly but they're still just fries, barely any cheese (not sure what we expected). The Pork Belly was cooked perfectly! Just crispy enough but also soft enough to melt in your mouth, with a phenomenal General Tso's marination which wasn't overpowering, just right. And the 4-5 pieces of pork were served on top of deliciously fresh vegetables soaked in the sweet, Tso marinade. It's a must try, even for vegetarians. It was my and my cousin's first time here. Let me preface with how cheap we were being since purchasing Christmas gifts had just drained us last week so we weren't splurging. Instead of entres we got two sides/small plates each. Our pick of the food was probably not the smartest choices but honestly there aren't many options to choose from. However, I'm guessing bc the other dishes are so good they don't need a 2 to 4 page menu. I'd love to try the other dishes when I'm not poor anymore. The only reason I'm admitting we just drank water is to give mad props to the wait staff for constantly topping em off. 5-star water service. We sat in a nice small area in the back, very quiet, well lit, tall ceilings, and after we paid the unusual booklet-less bill (you'll see), we sat there for like another 30 minutes talking and nobody pushed us out. I woulda pushed us out lol. Freakin water drinkers lol I apologize for that if they're reading this. Our server was very professional and attentive. I definitely recommend this place and if you're not cheap like me you'll probably find amazing food to go with this amazing restaurant. Thanks!

OMG, this place is awesome. I was in town for business and looking for a place for dinner with a colleague near the Marriott. Yelp was right to rank this as #1! We started with the General Tso's pork belly, which was phenomenal. I had the bucatini, and my colleague had the chicken. Both were awesome. But the standout was the sticky toffee pudding. Still drooling over that one. Great service (thanks, Jayson!), great wine list, great atmosphere.... Highly recommended all around!

Rather pricey and my guests thought their food was rather "meh". They had pork dishes and I had the half roasted chicken (served in a large bowl making it almost impossible to cut and eat). Wait staff was very nice.

Finally I had a chance to visit this spot which is poised to become and North Side staple. After reading every review under the sun and drooling over all of the seasonal offerings we made our way toa Friday evening dinner at LAte Harvest Kitchens. The decor is wonderful and the service is top notch (more on this later). I started with a cocktail from their menu called the Passport. It consisted of VODKA, DOMAINE de CANTON, BASIL, GRAPES, LIME and was super refreshing and went do easy (almost TOO easy). Now back to the service aspect. Long story short, their staff and team are frickin amazing. Very prompt and very accomadating, knowledgable and relatable. Our server wwent as far as to review that days entire menu with us, highlighting details such as the source of ingredients, preperation and opinion about all of the dishes on that days menu. This was super helpful and made it very easy to pick my choices for that evening. We started with some shared plates consisting of the General Tso's Pork Belly and the Brandade. The pork belly was cooked perfectly and sauced just right. We even had a devought hater of asian food at our table that gobled it up and the veggies were not overly stir fried. The Brandade was a huge hit as well and the brioche it was served with ws light and flaky. For main courses I had the POrk Chop which was done in a BBQ-ish style, cooked perfectly medium, not fry at all and not over sauced. It was actually topped with this bacon marmalde whci they should bottle so I can schmear it on anything at my own discretion. The baked beans it was served with were a winer too! Others in my party had the Chicken Schnitzel which was cooked perfectly, the Branzino (that day's whole fish selection) which our server presented and de-boned table side and the braised lamb raviolis. I tried everything and would of been more than happy had I ordered any of their selections. The conversation between my party and our server concerning dessert went something like this: "For dessert we have a few options but all I have to say is Sticky Toffee Pudding!" we all looked at each other and proceeded to order 2 orders of the Sticky Toffee Pudding to share. OUTSTANDING...FRICKIN OUTSTANDING! Im actually contemplating going back tonight just to get this again (one for myself). Overall I suggest talking to your server, let them know your likes and dis-likes and then turn off your brain and fall comfortably into their suggestions, whether it be for drinks, starters, mains or desserts...you're in good hands. Hoping to have numerous sheck ins here!

My husband and I love the food at late harvest! I have gotten the at least 3 different fish dishes and all have been excellent. I would skip the signature pork dish as I think it is a little tough and everything else on the menu is so much better. I highly recommend the Brandade appetizer. The house made brioche is to die for and the buttery fish dip is out of this world. The only thing I think that needs to be changed is the service which up until our last visit was exemplary. The last time we were here a party of 6 with no reservations was seated before us even though we had reservations. Once we were seated (25 minutes late) our server came over to take our order and never returned until after dinner was finished. He did not check on us during our appetizer, which came out without plates and my father in law had to get up and ask for them, or for a second round of drinks. We were barely able to flag him down in order to pay our tab.

I go here pretty consistently when I'm in Indy, which is 2x a month. This is not an inexpensive restaurant. My company flags dinners that reach the $50 threshold and requires we justify them. As such I usually have to spend my own money when I get a cocktail. I DO recommend the cocktails, which feature unusual ingredients that lead to interesting flavors. One appetizer that I rarely skip is the pork belly. I was introduced to them at this restaurant and now I order them everywhere (think thick bacon). The first time I had it here, it was the best, as the pork belly was wonderfully crispy yet so fatty that it completely melted in my mouth after that initial bite. One of the best appetizers I've ever eaten. I still like it, but each successive time I've ordered it didn't match the sublime experience of that first one. The only other appetizer I've tried here is the bone marrow. I've always wanted to sample it but I didn't care for it. I've tried the raved-about pork cheeks (good, but tasted like pot roast to me), the ribeye steak (just adequate... found mine somewhat overcooked like other reviewers). But I've been consistently impressed with the chicken dishes, particularly the 1/2 roasted chickens they often serve. I recommend them highly. Haven't sprung for the toffee pudding yet but that's on the to do list for a future visit.

Service was awesome. Jason took really good care of me. Food was just ok. Had the pork belly small dish and the pork shop large dish. I was really expecting better food :-(

We went last night for the first time. While the food was quite good, it wasn't worth the price. I ordered the ribeye mid-rare and it came to the table without a hint of pink. When we pointed out the error, our waiter immediately became very condescending and argued that it was in fact perfect in his opinion. I should mention that my dining companion is a chef and can easily spot a poorly cooked steak. The replacement was much better, but lacked any seasoning. It was begging for salt and I don't usually like a lot. The rest of the meal was delicious, but after our waiter was so rude the night was pretty much ruined. We didn't stay for dessert. I'll give them another chance and hope for a different waiter.

All round good food. Nice wine list at a good price point. When the patio opens this place should be hoppin. The daily fish, Brussels sprout and sticky toffee pudding are my takeaways from this place. Service. Is impeccable.

Decided to come in on a random night. Lucky for me they had availability. They were busy but it was a nice spring night so some people were sitting outside. My server was Douglas and he was wonderful. Very insightful on the menu and had great recommendations I started off with the wedge salad which was fresh and crisp and then had pork cheeks for my meal it was wonderful. Too full to get the toffee pudding today but I would definitely try again. Great place for dinner. Next time I will bring my hubby.

Based upon stellar reviews and pure curiosity, a group of friends and I selected Late Harvest as our destination for this year's North side Nights. How can you pass up a 3 course meal for only 30 bucks! Upon arrival, we were a little disappointed to finally be seated 20 or so minutes after our reservation time. The hostess was a little confused about where to place us. We went back and forth on where we would like to sit despite the fact that she put us somewhere completely different than where we requested. Finally, we were seated! Our waiter, I wish I remembered his name, was absolutely wonderful! He has worked with the chef for several years, so he was very knowledgeable about the menu and overall a friendly guy. My only complaint is that he was a bit slow. I understand our group was a bit indecisive. That is our bad, but it took so long for us just to place our order. The menu at Late Harvest is definitely for the adventurous foodie. The North side Nights menu featured Fluke Schnitzel, Braised Port Cheeks, and Biscuits and Rabbit Gravy. Wow! The decisions. Based upon the recommendation of our waiter I decided to be adventurous and try the Biscuits and Rabbit Gravy. A few individuals in the group did not find the tasting menu very appealing, so they ordered the pork chops from the regular menu. I started off with the Smoked Hamhock and Hominy Soup. It was just, meh. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. On to the Biscuits and Rabbit Gravy. Um, delicious! The biscuits were prepared southern style so they were buttery, slightly flaky, and yum-my. I've never had rabbit, so I wasn't sure what Bugs Bunny might taste like. The meat was tender and delicious. I didn't think I would enjoy this dish, but I was pleasantly surprised. The real stand out of the evening was the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Yes, it really is as good as everyone claims. It was warm and gooey. I seriously was devastated when I took the last bite. I did not want my dessert to end. Not to mention, I wanted to lick the caramel sauce out of the dish. Yes, it was that deep! All in all, I had a wonderful experience at Lave Harvest. I would definitely give it another shot. I enjoyed the uniqueness of the menu. Next time, I will try the pork chops. The individuals in my party who strayed from the North side Nights menu were glad they did. Everyone raved about the pork cops. If you want to try some unique local faire then Late Harvest is worth a visit. If you don't go for dinner, at least go for the yummy Sticky Toffee Pudding!

Wonderful personable service; timing of courses perfect. Nice presentation. Fresh local produce and organic meats. Swordfish is like butter. Family style unique desserts, especially the toffee Carmel bread pudding Don't miss this restaurant!

We love to support local restaurants! Nothing disappointed here but nothing blew us away either. Butternut squash soup was very good, Brussels sprouts salad was good, menu options were good selection (changes daily), good bottle wine selection, attentive waiters and lovely atmosphere. It takes a lot, such as a "wow" moment, to get five stars from me, and we just didn't have that. Would certainly go back and encourage others to try this great local place!

Wonderful aura, wonderful food. The chef here has done a fantastic job of keeping the food grand and delicious, yet light and healthy. I'm gonna be here every time I visit Indianapolis!

My girlfriends chose Late Harvest to celebrate our birthdays and we made a reservation. We were quickly seated and our glasses were filled with water right away. Our server, Mike, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Bread is served upon request. Get it! So good and the herbed butter was good and easy to spread! I opted for the Brussels sprout salad and it was nice and light. I liked the added crunch of the almonds. The monkfish was about to run out so I chose that and it was well prepared. Mike never let my wine glass go empty either! My friend ordered the potatoes that came as a giant plate of hash browns with some bacon and sour cream and they did not disappoint. Another ordered the sticky toffee pudding to share and that, my friends, is worth every single calorie. Do it. Maybe just order that and nothing else. Our bill came all on one and we were kind of surprised that he wouldn't ask if they were all together or separate, but he was quick to separate them out for us. Very enjoyable experience and will go back because I might dream about that dessert!

My wife and I enjoy dining at many different places however late harvest kitchen offers a fresh farm to table menu that is hard to beat. They have a wide variety of drinks, wines and bottled beers as well. There's always a fresh whole fish selection that my wife loves and my favorite is the toffee pudding dessert which is to die for. One of the best items on the menu is the bone marrow japeleno fries! A great place for a special occasion or date night.

I finally got to Late Harvest last night. The pork cheeks and risotto was an excellent dish. The pork cheeks were so tender and full of flavor. A side dish of roasted vegetables which consisted of cherry tomatoes, zucchini, carrots, onions and spinach (I think) was a very nice compliment. For dessert -chocolate mousse- a great ending to dinner. Over all I would highly recommend this place.

Crabby Fires were delicious, upscale cheese fries. The title is a bit misleading, as I kind of expected there to be crab but they call them that because the fries are seasoned with Old Bay. Still good regardless. I had the half roast chicken with smashed potatoes. Pretty good. Not the best but tasty. My leg/thigh portion did look really, really undercooked (pink/red near the bone) but the waiter said the color was "normal" (my table mates didn't agree so I just stopped eating that part). I didn't get food poisoning so I guess he was right...? I wish there was more Arugula because it was lacking tang and zip. My friends had the Tajine which they said was very tasty. I'm not usually in Indy so I don't think I will ever get the chance to go again, but I think it's a good option for a more upscale dinner, seeing as alternatives in the area are TGIFridays and the Cheesecake Factory. A lot of the ingredients they use are local and seasonal so, A+ in that respect. Unfortunately my meal fell a bit short.

I had been meaning to try this place for quite awhile, but seemed to keep having cause to eat out at nicer places mostly on Sunday nights when Late Harvest is closed. So, when family was in town mid-week I knew this would be the perfect chance to finally go! We had the brandade that was mentioned by a few others as being a high point, and it was truly delicious! The fish and buttery brioche went together perfectly! We also had the pork belly small plate on the recommendation of our server and that was fabulous as well! For entrees, I had the halibut cheeks which were cooked perfectly, very flavorful and served with a very tasty combination of vegetables and a slightly sweet light sauce. Another family member had the fish of the day, which was deboned table side by the server, and a third family member had the pork schnitzel. Both enjoyed their entrees a great deal. Portion sizes do vary depending on the entree as others have mentioned, but the servers seem extremely knowledgeable about the menu, so any diners with questions about this could easily ask when deciding what to order if this is an issue. We had a side dish of the fried green tomatoes. They were cooked perfectly; tomatoes still firm, and the coating not greasy! Side dishes easily serve four, and we were glad we heeded our server's suggestion to just stick to one side. For dessert two of us split the sticky toffee pudding which was amazing! Buttery sweet goodness! We were glad we decided to share one; definitely large and rich enough to split! Our third person ordered the root beer float which is made with house made root beer that comes in a tiny bottle that is uncapped and poured over the ice cream at the table (how cute!!) Service was great, even with the place being full. Given how busy they were on a Wednesday, I'd say they mean it when they say reservations are recommended. We will definitely be back!

Late Harvest Kitchen has about as much character as the area of Keystone at the Crossing- which is none. To me, finer dining needs to be an experience and this place fell far short. While the food was good, there were enough things to put me off from recommending it to anyone. First: We ordered several of the small plates- like 5 to split between three people. They are priced anywhere from $9 and up. We also ordered drinks. They brought all five small plates out at once, and at this point the table was covered with food. The server then immediately asked if we wanted to order entrees. Now, I know we are in Indiana, but we can't eat that much food at once. We filled up on small plates and decided to skip entrees and head for dessert. We even asked for a dessert menu and dessert wine menu. As SOON as it became apparent that we weren't ordering entrees our server ignored us. Didn't bring a dessert menu. Barely came back to the table. He basically gave up and then lost more money on the bill. The atmosphere is terrible. It's loud, boring, and plain. We had to shout to hear each other. And then throw in the jerk server. Good thing the food was good- specifically the fried oysters, chop salad, and pork belly. But with so many other great (and cooler) places in Indy to try, why bother?!

We had an out of town guest for the week-end & made reservations here knowing it was her cup of tea. We were all WOW'd. I have to say that it takes a really good chef to take a dish that you've eaten many times & take it up a few notches. The restaurant is light bright and airy with a semi upscale feel. The casual name like 'kitchen' and the location of a strip mall, were definitely offset with extraordinary service and our gourmet dinner. We chose to go early (6:30) and it wasn't too busy yet. We asked to be seated in the back room by a window looking out to the patio fountain and were accommodated. We were immediately given water by the server's helper. The server (Michael) was right there with drink menus & to take drink orders, to present menus and answer every question we had very well. The whole night went like that, -with impeccable service from our waiter to the helper & busser! (One ex.-I kept my used fork from our appetizers when our dishes were bussed. Our waiter then came by, removed my fork, & replaced it before serving dinner.) I've served in many gourmet restaurants in my younger days. It's all the small things that count. I can't say enough about them! Dinner choices, (which we shared some): Fried oysters--huge oysters which the crisp breading didn't overpower. With every bite there was a taste of juicy oyster. -very good w/great sauces Brie-with roasted peaches and caramelized onions on toast -very good, especially with our oyster choice. Pork chop-accompanied with sweet baked beans, kraut with caramelized bacon marmalade which was a little sweet-all were incredibly good (always a featured item) Lamb ravioli-very good & rich with an incredible sauce-a definite 10 Halibut cheeks-tender and served with (I think) a butter sauce w/capers & toasted bread crumbs--it was good, but even as a seafood lover it was my least favorite due to being very plain. Even a little S&P on the fish w/a little lemon would elevate it. I'm sure the Chef didn't want to overpower it, due to capers, but was a little lacking Sides-fried green tom's with great sauce were a hit and FF w/marrow butter (ordered due to the reviews) were very good, but none of us love FF so would refrain next time Sticky toffee pudding-incredible flavor & very very sweet--Yum, a definite hit Cocktails-Squirt w/coconut juice & an orange peel (so good I had 2, could be a dessert drink too) Long Island and Homemade House chardonnay & cabernet were hits -Haven't said more than anyone, just added my 2 cents about this place! Pricey but We'll definitely be going back!

I've been wanting to try Late Harvest for awhile-I've heard so much about their toffee pudding and I didn't want to miss out. We went there with the intent to order off the $30 menus they have for Northside nights but there were too many other options calling my name. The ambiance is much like any other nice restaurant-roomy, dim lighting, a nice fireplace. We got there a little early for our reservation but they were able to seat is immediately. My husband was disappointed to see that the biscuits and rabbit gravy were missing from the $30 menu that it was previously advertised on. We got the General Tso's pork belly and it was sooooo delicious. Subtle flavor, decent portion-can't wait to try it again. We each got fish courses which were cooked well and nicely sized. The important part is that dessert though. I have never had a better dessert than the sticky toffee pudding. It was warm and so tasty. That only bad part is that it was my husband's dessert, not mine, so I only got a few bites. I'm already planning my next visit there, a definite win!

The less than 4 star reviews here don't really match with my experience at Late Harvest Kitchen. We came in on a Tuesday night and had a pretty decent time and a quite fantastic meal. The interior is really lovely. Very comfortable and also nice to look at - a lot of textures and just calm, sleek modern rusticness, if that is even a thing. If it isn't, it should be. Service was good - we had a small bump at the beginning as it seems like our server had the whole dining room to himself. After the initial wait for drinks, the service was fantastic and we got some great recommendations for things to try. As for the food, I am hoping the people who had issues with it were just dining there on an off day. I would have to say that this gives many high end places in my local area a run for their money. We ordered waffles with ramps and the brandade to start. Waffles? Savory waffles? This needs to be more of a thing. The waffles were the perfect texture and paired perfectly with the fava beans and ramps. We asked that was in the waffles - a mixture of herbs that I am going to try my best to replicate at home. It was ridiculously delicious. And brandade... If it's on a menu somewhere I am going to order it because it is maybe one of my favorite things in the whole world. Here, it was in a format in which I have not had it before - baked in a dish and then served with chunks of super-buttered brioche. I was a bit skeptical at first but then I dug in and it was pretty darn amazing. Highly recommended. I will note now that the portions, even on the small plates, can be enormous. The brioche could easily be shared by 4 people and our server even advised if we needed more bread, he could have had some toasted for us. And then there were the entrees. The two that seemed to be deadlocked in an eeny meeny miny moe were the whole fried Arctic char and the lamb ravioli. So we got them both, knowing that we were maybe already getting close to full. The char came two whole fried fish to a plate. Kind of daunting and completely enormous. Thankfully our server came over and offered to get the bones out and remove the head and tail - not sure I would have made it otherwise. This was delicious fish. Very gentle, not fishy and not even remotely greasy for a fried fish. The sauce was pretty tasty, as well. And then the ravioli - yummy. A much smaller portion but maybe the just right amount of earthy lamb tucked into little pasta pockets of goodness. I'm not normally a lamb fan but this was fantastic. There was a mint component and for those folks that don't like mint, I can say that it is not really a big flavor in the dish at all. We skipped dessert and while I am sad, I think it would have meant instant food death - maybe next time. As for the beverage menu, they have a rather extensive wine list, a fairly short beer list and also mixed drinks to choose from. I do think I would like a wider beer selection but I also get that not all places are going to have a huge array of it. And what they did have was good so I am ok with that. Overall, very good and somewhere that I will be happy to try again the next time I am in the area!

Years from now, we'll be talking about Late Harvest Kitchen with the same reverence we hold for St. Elmo. It is fantastic. Late Harvest is pricey, but it's perfect as a special occasion or "once in a while" type of restaurant. I ate dinner in the bar/lounge area on a Wednesday night. The lounge filled up quickly so get here early if you want to eat in this section. It was crowded even though the restaurant area wasn't that busy. Their hours are M-Sat 5:00-10:00 so you can't eat here for lunch. My server/bartender, Jason, was on point. He couldn't have done a better job. Late Harvest's sides (they're a la carte) are large enough to feed two people so keep that in mind when you order. I went with the ribeye and kennebec fries, and they were very good. The complimentary fresh baked bread was tasty too. Love this place....I just can't eat here often because it's expensive.

We went there for friends reunion. Friends are from Washington, D.C., and they are foodies. They as well as I loved everything we ate and especially the Pork chop was the best. I will definitely go back to this place.

If you like Mesh, you'll probably like Late Harvest. Both similar in wine, menu style and price, just on opposite ends of the city. I went for the Northside Nights menu, a 3 course meal for $30. The wedge salad is fantastic, with a peppery blue cheese dressing and crispy onions. The lake trout was tender and moist, and the light sauce was just right. We also ordered crispy chicken livers with ranch and hot sauce and a huge bowl of mussels that easily fed the five of us. Sticky toffee pudding is an absolute must. Service was great - for it clearly being a wine restaurant, our server still rattled off the beer menu with ease. However, plan to spend a while here. It took 2.5 hours from start to finish, and I noticed that very few new tables came in that night. Most everyone was there for just as long as we are. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. Just like Mesh, this place is special occasion-ish. Not in my price range to eat there often.

I don't know that I can add much. I will say you have to get the fries with bone marrow butter and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The drink list is great as well. The bacon marmalade on my hubby's pork chop was heavenly. Great service, too.
With great food, drinks, service, and dessert this place has it all. It definitely deserves a spot on our top rated. We look forward to coming back.

I appreciate that this restaurant uses local foods for its menu and changes it from season to season as it applies. It's a very clean and simple approach to cooking that all of us forgets about more often than not. Walking into this place, i loved the environment of the restaurant. Simple, clean, and comfortable place. They have a great outdoor patio that is like it's own little world with a fire pit - I see myself visiting again even just for a glass of wine and some good chats by the fire with friends! Our party ordered the brandade for our appetizer which was completely and unexpectedly amazing! I had read reviews about this dish which was what sparked us to get it - but I was still unprepared for how delicious it was. The bread it came with was almost just as good as the brandade! It was a great way to open up our appetite! Our entrees were a bit disappointing. Our group of three got and shared our entrees of rabbit, halibut, and whole roasted fish. The rabbit was the favorite of ours having a great depth of flavor in all of its components. The halibut was a nice cut but lacked a bit of seasoning and flavor - if you're looking for a nice, clean, and light dish, this may be good for you. The whole roasted fish was the biggest disappointment as it seemed a little overcooked, undersalted, and also lacked flavor. The daily fish that day had lots of little bones so by the time the waiter finished taking the bones out, the dish was cold. We also got the bone marrow jalapeno fries which were THE BEST!!!!!! This was my favorite part of our meal and I would come back just for this! For dessert, we had the highly recommended bread putting which was incredibly rich, smooth, full of caramel goodness, and would satiate any sweet cravings. It was a nice way to close out our meal:)

This was my third time to Late Harvest and will be my last. The food was underwhelming, again. We had bone marrow, lake trout, rabbit biscuits and gravy, and Minnesota (?) potatoes, all of which lacked seasoning. Each dish had an oily residue on the plate and visible oil separation around the food. There are better options in Indy for the $$$ price.

We checked out Late Harvest Kitchen during Northside Nights (a restaurant week/Devour Downtown type of promotion where there was a $30 prix fixe, 3-course menu) after meeting the chef and chatting with him at Dig-In. I must admit: I'm sad that we haven't been there before. It was THAT good! Late Harvest's menu changes daily based on what is available. Local is the name of the game, plus tons of excellent fresh caught seafood (prior to this the chef was at the Oceanaire). Service was spot on. The server offered us 4 or 5 wine tastings when we discussed that we were interested in a bottle. (Bottle prices start in the $30, I think...super reasonable) and the by the glass list is extensive. Additionally, he highly recommended the prix fixe menu as a great way to try several menu items. See, I really, really appreciated that. Several places we've been to during Devour/Northside Nights/Chow Down Midtown treat the special menu like a red-headed step-child, which makes you feel like you shouldn't be ordering from it! It's a promotion! So promote it! We had some of the best dishes during our meal....fried green tomatoes with crab, potato encrusted trout, creamy polenta, and the signature sticky toffee pudding for dessert. LHK is definitely a 'special occassion' restaurant for us, but I can't wait to go back and try more of the chef's local, seasonal creations.

Oh. My. Goodness. Culinary arts, be mine. I had the Fettucini Veggie Bolognese and it was friggin amazing. Was told the pasta was made in house (and it seemed closer to a pappardelle, but minor note). The flavor was buttery, and with a hint of wine, fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, shallots and/or garlic. I rarely order pasta, but this was a work of art. The toffee bread pudding was also ridiculous good. Like, to hell with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I want to swim in a small pool, or maybe just a bathtub of this decadent dessert. Beautiful. Service was great--though it was 5 and we were sitting in the bar (empty house). So, that'd be the other tip--go early to avoid a crowd. Because if anyone is aware of how amazing the food is, I'm guessing it gets pretty busy. Lovely outdoor seating, too. Would prefer it be downtown, but I guess you can't have everything...can't wait to go back.

Fantastic! My wife had the pork belly general tso and I had the ribeye. The pork belly was heavenly it melted in your mouth like butter and the general tsos sauce that Chef Ryan has put together is a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and just a touch of spice. My ribeye was cooked to perfection and the whole roasted garlic, over easy egg, and sauce served with it complemented it perfectly. I will say that I did use the leftover general tsos sauce from my wife's meal to dip my steak in because of how addictive the flavor was. We finished the meal with a long time favorite dessert from Chef Ryan, his chocolate mousse. I know chocolate mousse isn't something that usually sticks in your mind for years but we had Chef Ryan's mousse for the first time almost a decade ago and still can't get the wonderfully decadent richness he somehow whips into that mousse out of our heads. The food was great, Joshua, our server was wonderful, and we look forward to another visit very soon. We'll done!

This is my favorite restaurant in Indy right now - I would go here above Mesh, Recess, and a handful of other more hip foodie places. The ambiance is perfect for a date or a group of old friends. The bar is lacking draft beer, but it makes up for it in their excellent bottle selection. I'm not a wino but my wife was happy with her selection and the list looked pretty thorough. The service and food are what does it for me. We've tried the lobster bisque, most of the meat entrees, and a few desserts and really haven't been disappointed. The restaurant uses locally sourced ingredients which makes everything taste and feel more fresh and authentic. I don't really understand the "lack of salt" complaints - if you want more salt then...add salt. The service was absolutely perfect - attentive and friendly without being too in-your-face. The waiters seem to actually enjoy their job instead of going through the motions and watching the clock. I definitely recommend going here for anyone looking for a great meal with family, friends, or a significant other.

Full 5 Stars. Dined last evening with some co-workers and could not have been more pleased. thanks to a previous review, I was determine to the Brandade appetizer which turned out to be the highlight for me! Just wonderful. Also very good was the pork belly and rabbit bruschetta. The pork chop was delicious and my colleagues enjoyed their ravioli and tortellinis. the mixed vegatables were okay but the jalepena fries were great. Nice wine list. Enjoyed a Sequoia Grove Cab for $68 - was just right. Service was excellent . and we dabbled with the most delicious sticky toffe pudding afterward - dont want to know what the calorie count on that runs up to. Would be very pleased and am sure to return again. Convenient location. Wonderful experience. Very, very pleased.

Great menu and great tasting food. The decor is well done other than there is no acoustic ceiling so the noise is tremendous and unnerving. Hate to spend that kind of money to enjoy fine food and not be able to have a conversation.

Made a trip to Indy for a show at Klipsch. Found LHK on yelp and thought the menu looked very interesting. Was hoping for some great specials that might not be on the menu being a Saturday night, none were offered. LKH has a very nice feel inside. We started with the escargot, which was surprisingly bland. The wedge salad was great but small. maybe 1/8 of the wedge. I had the pork chops that were amazing and my wife had the linguini which she loved. Overall a very good dining experience, and we would go back if we lived in Indy.

Easily my favorite restaurant in Indy. The price is a little steep but for the quality you can't beat it. The restaurant has a nice balance of upscale seating and a comfortable atmosphere. If I had to eat at one place in Indy, this would be it.

Wow, definitely one of Indianapolis' best! The setting in a strip shopping center is less than ideal, but once inside, the decor is intimate and lovely. Small bar with an excellent bartender (great drinks). Good wine list and knowledgable, professional staff. And the food. Chef Ryan Nelson came from the Oceanaire Seafood Room, and his potatoes Minneapolis is a far superior variation on their hash brown pancake. The shaved Brussels sprouts salad is amazing. The pork belly, quail, crabcake . . . everything is beautifully prepared and delicious.

I was really looking forward to coming to Late Harvest Kitchen due to its excellent Yelp reviews. I will honestly say that I was underwhelmed by my experience. While the food was delicious, I do not know it meets their high price demand. The roasted chicken was very good, and I appreciate the local source of all of their meat, but once again it was very pricey. This place deserves three stars because we had excellent serve and the sticky toffee pudding was on point. However, the price tag is just a tad too high. There are too many places in Indianapolis with less expensive, more delicious food to consider going back to Late Harvest Kitchen again.

Enjoyed our first visit on a recent Friday night. Loved almost everything about the place. Highly recommend the artisanal cocktails. Passport was my fave. Also, the Brussels sprouts salad, BBQ pork, kraut, baked beans, and sticky toffee pudding. The only things that were mediocre were the toasted cauliflower and roasted chicken, both of which were nothing special. The service was perfect. My only complaint is there wasn't a path cleared between the parking lot and front door so we climbed over a pile in the median. Odd strip mall location too. Overall, though, it was a great experience that I'd definitely recommend.

I heard about this place from a friend of mine who lives in Indy. I decided to give it a try with a couple of friends of mine. We arrived around 6-6:30 p.m. on a Sat night and there was already a wait. We eventually squeezed into the bar area. They had pheasant on the menu so I decided to give it a chance. It was pretty decent considering how difficult it is to make sure the bird isn't too dry or tough. I shared some poutin with my guests which was good as well. I went a couple months later and decided to try the pork chop (steak). Wow, that was excellent....very thick and hearty. One would almost believe he/she was eating a steak. The place is rather small for an upscale, full service restaurant and the bar is tiny. It is advisable to make a reservation to ensure no wait. Being on the north side, it is more easily accessible to the folks who are coming from the north (such as myself). Parking is free and plentiful.

Very disappointed. Bad service. Overpriced food. Recipes off season (felt like a winter menu despite almost summer). Strange, heavy handed seasoning...Underwhelmed. Won't return or recommend. I'm a foodie and I eat at great restaurants all over the world. This one needs a lot of help.

Really loved my meal last night. Met up with a friend and ate in the bar by choice. Jason the bartender is a knowledgeable, pleasant fellow. I had the Brussels sprout salad. Who knew shredded sprouts, egg and almonds could be so tasty? The pork cheeks with pea risotto and pine nut gremolata was fabulous! Dinner ended with the warm sticky toffee pudding and vanilla ice cream. Go and enjoy!

Dining here for our Wedding Anniversary was an excellent experience! Our server, Derek, was very attentive. The food was heavenly and the cocktails, divine. Husband had a Spicy Mule prepared by Jason. I stuck to the pinot noir. Wine list was well stocked with some of my favorites like Shatter and Gelfand. Highly recommended!

The brussel sprout salad and the desserts were great. The main course for our table of 7 missed the mark. Dry or greasy meat. The pork chop was the exception. Delicious.

Started with the pork belly.Very well prepared, melted like butter. Branzino was the whole fish of the evening and it delicious. Simply grilled, moist. I always end with the toffee pudding as its my favorite desert here. Service was terrific.

Spot-on service and outstanding local and seasonal food. Great cocktails and solid wine list. Nothing else to say. I will recommend this place to anyone visiting Indianapolis.

Great meal. Brussel sprout salad and rabbit sausage (not together). Great food plus classic cocktails, awesome local place.

OUTSTANDING food, service, atmosphere. By FAR the best place I've been to in Indianapolis to date. QUALITY food. The chicken cooked under a brick with gnocci had flavors that were balanced, not over salted, and the flavor just melted so well. The toffee bread pudding - a true addiction. Excellent french press coffee. Will most CERTAINLY return, with MANY friends.

I had heard so much about Late Harvest and finally went there tonight. It was very disappointing. The fried oysters were nearly inedible. My salad was ok but nothing special. I ordered the ribeye and it was flavorless and tough. I have no idea how this restaurant gets the ratings it does. My dining companions also had complaints about their food. I would not recommend.

Seriously...Best meal I've had in Indy in years. I'm not a huge steak person but the Ribeye Steak is SINFUL. It is perfectly seasoned with a scoop of herb butter on top that melts into each bite. A generous portion of fried onion pieces come atop the steak, which compliments the meat and adds the perfect crunch. The figgy pudding dessert is decadent. I want to go back tonight for this meal. Dangerously good.

Wow! First time diner with out of town visitors. Great choice. For apps, mussels (huge quantity) lobster bisque (thin but great flavor), Brussels sprouts salad. Entrees, pig cheeks, lamb shank, and scallops, all well cooked and flavorful. Sides, roasted cauliflower with almonds and sherry and French fries with truffle oil and jalapeños - excellent. The great finish, toffee pudding, extraordinary. Add locally sourced meats and you have a restaurant that earns your respect and desires to come again.

Tonight the pork cheeks we great, very tasty. The Fluke was also very good as was the roasted chicken. The fried oysters are exceptional..with an amazing sauce. Sticky pudding and French press coffee to finish it off. And superb service...all reasons we keep coming back to Late Harvest.

This is hands down one of the top restaurants in Indianapolis. It is upscale but not overpriced. It is local and seasonal without being too "granola." The shaved Brussels sprouts salad is a must get. I would avoid the whole fish because the art of table side filleting is rarely mastered outside extremely high end restaurants, and my LHK server was definitely not experienced with it. The sticky toffee pudding is decadent in the best way possible. The service was impeccable. Perfect date spot or dinner out with friends.

One of Indy's best restaurants. Period. Ryan Nelson (formerly of Oceanaire) is the head chef here. And if you haven't noticed, Oceanaire isn't as good since he left. I digress... Been here twice but would eat here every day if I could afford it. Get the sticky toffee pudding! Great wine selection, local, seasonal ingredients. Anyone who gives less than 5 stars needs their palette examined.
We ate the night before the 500? We decided to forego the traditional steak dinner and try something new and different. What a good decision. We shared the shaved Brussel sprouts and had the rabbit sausage to start. Then we had the whole Branzino, rib eye, fries and cauliflower for dinner. Everything was outstanding. The sprouts were a little dry but we still devoured it. Just gave to sat - the fries with bone marrow juice and jalapeño are one if the best side dishes ever. Really glad we came here.

A foodie sort of menu (by Indianapolis standards) and everything is well prepared. Upscale without coming across as stuffy. I have had dinner here 3 times, if you dine there in colder months, hope that you are not seated near the fireplace as it can give off enough to heat to make it too uncomfortable to sit close to it. All of the menu selections that I've had or the people I was with have had were excellent. The staff seems to know the menu well and does not hesitate to give recommendations or answer questions. I haven't had a chance to try the bar yet, but it looks nice, even though it's very small. Definitely check this place out if you are looking for something "new" in Indianapolis to try.

Eh fine. General Tso pork belly is good like everyone says, but both entres were really bland. No beers on tap. The cool environment is all that keeps this from being a 2 star.

We had dinner here last Fri. The place is just across from the fashion mall. Nicely/formally decorated with an outdoor dining if you prefer al fresco dining. Food is great and comes in large portions. The place reminds me of mesh/oakleybistro/zest combined into1. We started with the porkbelly and asparagus salad which were both awesome. Thinly sliced pork belly pan fried with a little crisp to it on top of stir fried veggies with a like a sweet and sour sauce, this plus a bowl of rice and I'd be happy man. The salad was sliced/shaved cooked asparagus with some cheese and nice dressing with a slight note of citrus, crisp and refreshing as the wife puts it. For the entree, the wife had the porkchop which was amazing, it was thick cut but tender, great smoke flavor, topped with some bacon marmalade, and even the sauerkraut on the side was very good. I went for the rabbit, which was OK especially the sausage, but I like the wife's porkchop much better. And for dessert, we tried the toffee pudding and it was excellent. Last time he had toffee pudding this good was at Feast/Houston. Service was great and price is reasonable, and huge (free) parking lot in front.

Great food. Great service. Came in from out of town and found this place near our hotel. We had the oysters, pumpkin ravioli, and the turkey leg. All were amazing. The fries were so so but do not miss the toffee dessert!

the ONLY place at which I'll dine when in the Keystone area of INDY. incredibly fresh, seasonal menu; check. Great staff; check. Value for your money; CHECK. Yes, the food is great, but the bartender, Jason, takes incredible care an pride in his cocktails, that ordering wine with dinner is doing yourself a disservice. This is a MUST try....but, be warned, you won't anywhere else in the area!

I will definitely go back to Late Harvest Kitchen. I dined there a few weeks ago with a friend and had some great dishes and some ok dishes. We split an app, an entree and a side. The corn, tomato & chanterelle salad was my favorite dish of the night. Very seasonal and perfectly seasoned. We had the chicken as our entree and it was solid. Kind of dry as other reviewers have pointed out. Our side was the asparagus with a grilled egg on top. This was pretty tasty! I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the entire place (especially the bar). We sat in the bar which I loved. Our bartender was our server and he was very knowledgeable and attentive but not overbearing. The wine & cocktail list was nice. We sampled a number of different drinks and all were really good. I look forward to going back & trying some different dishes.

We like this eatery on our second visit w a trial of the Northside three course menu for me and a new addition of tuna toro. The lake trout from Winnipeg was perfect and hot with a spinach n green bean side. The squash soup -- never a first choice- was delicious. Personally I found the serving generous and would have presented better in smaller portion but w addition of a crouton or breadstick. The tuna was very generous but no match to my date'S appetite. The soy schirracci mayo dabs were soooo toothsome I wanted to dip my lake trout in too! The bourbon menu, as our server Michael explained had bee decimated by heavy customer traffic so small batch Owen creek wasn't avail. Sob. I like the veltleiner white wine n date chose the NZ Sauvignon blanc. Sticky toffee pudd for dessert w French press. This evening was delightful. We sat inside in a darker area and gazed longingly at the more attractive hearth room booths.. Bar table or hearth room prefer to the location we had. We had a large party w a little baby who cried seated next to us. We dropped 170$ for dinner us two which was a record for us. Five stars for food, service, wine and bourbon choice.... Three stars on I romantic seating assignment. It's those tiny things that can throw perfection down the tube!!

I really liked this place, but it seemed like some of the entrees could have been coming from a different restaurant based on the portion size! So someone in our group had the bronzini and absolutely loved it, but seriously it looked like he got maybe 10 bites out of the whole fish once they filleted it table side. Myself, on the other hand, ordered the pork chop which to me seemed like enough meat for a cave man. Such was the case with most of the entrees. I would highly recommend the pork belly appetizer. and the brioche that came with the brandade tasted like it was soaked in butter (in a good way). Definitely a nice place to sit outside if the weather is not too hot or too cold!

hey a t.
Drink was sensational, however the sockeye salmon was tasteless and dry which they tried to cover up by throwing some type of oil on the dish. Dry, tasteless salmon swimming in canola oil, not appetizing. I went with the salmon because it was recommended by the waiter, However when a guest asks for lemon, DO NOT go to the next table for a drink order; fish was getting cold. But I'm glad the next table got their cold beers. That being said drinks yes, at least for the Squirt, not for food.

We came for New Year's Eve and made reservations. They were a little behind so we still had to wait about 20 minutes to get seated which was fine. Our server was super friendly and happily spewed his recommendations of that day's menu to us. The bone marrow fries were delicious-crisp, savory and a slight kick from the jalapenos. For our main dishes we ordered the pork cheek with winter vegetable risotto and the quail with swiss chard and gnocchi. Both had nice complex flavors, but the pork cheek was amazingly tender. It literally melts in your mouth. It was definitely the winner of the two. The quail had a sweetness to it that I liked but de-boning was a bit awkward for me. The gnocchi was soft and soaked up the sauce well. For dessert we got the sticky toffee pudding. It was extremely rich and buttery. I could only eat a few bites of it. I would recommend sharing it with a couple people. Overall a great experience.

Bar only review: I'm in love - this place is gorgeous! Dark wood gives it a homey, warm tone and feel. Intimate bar that looks out over the patio and their flaming boulder (just go see for yourself). Jason, my barkeep 2 nights in a row was Cheers-worthy but with so much more class. :) He had great wine and appetizer recommendations, chatted us up and truly seemed to be glad to be there. My second night there he and his counterpart mixed me my new favorite drink, the "Passport". VODKA, DOMAINE de CANTON, BASIL, GRAPES, LIME. I especially loved the little spear of grape and basil that made the drink look as good as it tasted - smooth, refreshing and incidentally so not like alcohol you could easily do something entirely irresponsible if you had too many of them :) Take your DD I say and have a few!

First time to this restaurant. My partner said her Mahi Mahi was the best she tasted and the brussel sprout salad was pretty amazing. The chocolate mousse dessert was intense.

Wow- that is all I can really say! The only downfall to this place, is the small bar- which I am sure most of the time isn't a problem, but we had a large group meeting there, and with two other tables : actually sat in the bar: it made it so we poured out into the walkways. Caviar pie: sweetbreads: ribeye and the plethora of desserts that we were served amazed me. I will be back and with others who enjoy- The best praise I can offer is that with a group of about 20- usually you will have a neigh sayer or two in the group and everyone was raving about this place!

Delicious, thoughtful cocktails Friendly, personable staff Unique menu Now for the food: Love the caviar pie - I've had it multiple times and it never disappoints Pork chop with bacon marmalade - bacon marmalade people. LOVE Fried whole fish with an Asian sauce...sorry I can't remember the name but who cares - it was fabulous. Ask for extra sauce Halibut - outstanding. This chef knows how to cook a fish. If you are in a hurry, don't go. Wait until you have time to sit for a while and relax. This is a take your time kind of place. Chef Ryan's vision is everywhere...the atmosphere, the bar menu and the food menu. It is apparent he is a heavy hitter so have an open mind and enjoy the ride. You'll be glad you did. By the way the sticky toffee pudding is life changing.

A local gem with great food and atmosphere! The house-made bacon (on the wedge salad and hash browns) is the best bacon I've ever had anywhere. The roasted whole fish changes depending on what's fresh is always good. The sticky toffee pie is to die for.

Went on a week night with a group of friends. The service was pretty slow although the restaurant was not overly busy. My food was pretty good, although for the price I expect a little bit more as far as quality. One in my party asked that their steak be cooked medium but it came well done, She sent it back and by the time a replacement came out everyone else at the table was pretty much done and the sides (shared) were cold. Oh, and the steak was raw! Manager was asked to bring fresh sides but offered free dessert for the table instead.

WOW - what a wonderful place that had two dishes I had not tasted before. The brandade was phenomenal with the right balance of creamy saltiness and the brioche good. Serving large enough for 2-3 so part went in a box. Server suggested the halibut cheeks, which was a part I had never sampled. The texture and flavor were A-1 and the toasted pine nuts and capers kicked it up a notch. I was too full to try the toffee pudding, but will return. Outside seating was a bit of a serene, almost Oriental/modern ambience and quite nice. One would never realize that one were in a strip shopping center. Server was prompt, knew the menu, etc. The suggestion I have is that for the quality of the seafood, a proper seafood fork, with the flayed tines to lift the flakes and knife should be provided. The halibut, reportedly flown in fresh, however, was so tender that the use of a knife was merely an exercise in civility and really not "needed." This would be a topnotch restaurant by most standards - even at 6 pm on a Tuesday, it was becoming crowded. I plan to return.

I've eaten here before, but never felt compelled to leave a review. Now I've just got to chime in and say (in response to Ryan F, below) that I support any business owner's right (even obligation) to confront parents of unruly kids. I've been in a restaurant once that was made so uncomfortable by screaming and running kids that a fellow patron finally kneeled down in the aisle to inform these kids that "This is not your rumpus room at home!" - met with restaurant-wide applause. Hopefully Chef Nelson's initiative was met with a similar reaction; at the very least, I applaud after the fact. Oh, and the food's good, too.

Hate to repeat our other reviews, but since we moved from San Francisco to Indy we are trying to find restaurants that will not let us down. Hard mission, but Late Harvest is certainly a top notch restaurant. Comparable to NY, SF and Chicago restaurants, nice atmosphere, healthy menu (if you want to stick with those items) and priced accordingly. Ok, maybe a little high for Indy. That is ok as it attracts the right crowed then. Don't get discouraged just because it is located on a strip mall. Learned that here in Indy location is not a reason to discriminate against a restaurant. Order the Schnitzel and the steak with egg on top. Save room for dessert. And order one per person so you can try. Delicious!

My co-workers and I decided to try this restaurant while we were in town on business. The waiter was very helpful and informative regarding the menu. I ordered chicken the chicken. The chicken was VERY dry and resembled shake and bake. When I commented to the waiter that the chicken was dry his response was that white meat is dryer then dark meat. Instead of taking the feedback for the chef I felt like i was being patronized. In general over priced from the drink menu to the entree's. My recommendation would be to bypass this place and go to Grill 52

We really wanted to love this place, but it was a big disappointment all around. We love the fact that this is an independently-owned non-chain offering a seasonal locally-source menu. The atmosphere is nice when you walk in also, but it went downhill from there. There were 11 in our party, celebrating friend's birthdays, and we were sat at a tiny table crammed in the corner (you know, where 6 people have to get up if the person on the inside has to go to the bathroom) and we were so cramped everyone kept bumping elbows while eating. The service was prompt, but the servers kept dripping water and wine on us when refilling glasses, and we even had to pass down plates to each other because it was so tight. The shrimp cocktail was huge and my wedge salad was delicious; the chef used pomegranate and haystacks, very unusual and good. Several people in our group got the mahi, it was served over beef short rib dumplings in a sort of au jus beef broth. The pairing was just odd and didn't go well together. I got the pork chop after our waiter sold me on it, and it was a big disappointment. It was a very large bone-in chop with good flavor, but had a large ring of fat on the edge and some inside, and the meat was so tough my steak knife could barely saw through it. Another person in our party got the bone-in ribeye and said it was average at best. If it were just the food that was average and everything else was excellent, we'd probably give it another try, but that was not the case. There are so many other nice places to eat offering consistently good menu items, and when spending $200 on a meal (per couple) you expect to have excellent service and great food. As well as not being crammed into a tiny table like sardines. Overall LHK was over-priced and disappointing, we won't be going back anytime soon.

Really unusual choices on the menu. Stuff I live for. The joy of eating out is stuff I can't make at home, or haven't thought about. The shaved Brussels Sprouts salad withe toasted almonds was outstanding. Could have eaten 2 bowls of it. It is sized properly though, which is to say, just right so you don't leave any on the plate or fill up on it and have no room for anything else. The Braised Lamb with Mushrooms was really tender. No particular flavor stood out, but with a big touch of hot chili sauce added, it was just right. Again the portion was right sized and I still had time for dessert- Sundae - which on a cold November evening may not be everyone's choice but, it finished off a really good meal. Sat at the bar, where the bar tender was really helpful, laid back, not in your face and made the whole dinner vibe just right. Definitely a 'Goldilocks' kinda place. Just right.

Four star review on our third (fourth?) visit. The service has always been impeccable, we ordered wine and cocktails this time. I had a jalapeno magarita. The flavors were not well balanced and the heat from the pepper overwhelmed everything. I've had other cocktails there before and they were very good (the Ginger Baker springs to mind), so no worries there. We had an excellent appetizer, deviled eggs with house smoked salmon. They were served with crostini and a few croutons. My girlfriend had the pork chop with bacon marmalade and Wee Mac beans. Delicious and cooked to a perfect medium as requested. Had a nice blush color on the interior. As always she took home a good portion of the entree for lunch the next day. I had the whole roasted snapper which was spot on perfect. It was stuffed with garlic cloves and served with a lemon butter. The fish was perfectly cooked and very fresh. The server offered to remove the meat from the bones for me, which I politely declined. I started with the cheeks and proceeded to devour every last morsel on my plate. The busser (a woman) commented on the fact that I left no meat what so ever on the bones, she seemed impressed. I had left her favorite bite on the fish, the eyeball. (Just not that brave.) Desert was the sticky toffee pudding with French press coffee. My only complaint is regarding the coffee mugs. It can be very difficult to get a sturdy grip on your mug (love the design, though!). We will be back for the next big event, whatever that may be, and will be sure to take our servers recommendation on the maple version of the bread pudding.

We went here with another couple. Definitely a very expensive place so be forewarned. It is definitely a place fit for foodies. I walked on the wild side and ordered the rabbit which was just ok. My hubby got a steak which I tried and thought it was delicious, but I didn't order it, even though I wish I had, because when I decide to have steak, the only cut I'll order is filet because I have to have something very lean. The rabbit was interesting and served as a loin, hind legs, and one rabbit sausage, served with gnocchi and mushrooms. I wasn't a fan of the gnocchi but I think it's a texture thing and I guess I should have known better. We ordered their house chips with bacon dip as an app and it was very good. Also their sides are big enough for a table of 4 to share. We had their house fries with jalepeno and bone marrow butter, very good, and their roasted vegetables. What took the cake though was their stick toffee pudding. Honestly, the best dessert I've had in a very long time. It's definitely a dining experience kind of place and not the kind of place where you want to grab a quick bite before a movie. We were there for 2.5 hours but then again, we had three courses and weren't in any hurry. You have to ask for your check, but it's nice to not have a waiter shoving you out the door either. Decor is pretty and there is outdoor and bar seating available. Their wine list and beer list is impressive and they source everything locally and use organic everything. It was a nice experience, but very expensive. Personally, if I'm going to go somewhere for a special occasion, I probably won't be back, but we are trying to cross some of these hyped up restaurants off our summer bucket list, so we can do that now. We are going off a list of the top 50 restaurants published by the local paper and Indy monthly. Service was good and our waiter was nice, had a good sense of humor, and was incredibly knowledgeable of the food, which I really liked.

A follow up to a much earlier review and my enthusiasm remains. Dined there last night after 9 pm, place was still buzzing, but plenty of tables available. I had rabbit that came with some gnocchi and pancetta. Rabbit consisted of a rabbit sausage (made at the restaurant), plus a good few pieces of meat and leg etc. Just delicious. My wife had halibut, lightly seared, with some risotto and a few mushrooms. We shared a side of roasted mixed vegetables. Ask for the bread. All excellent. Serving sizes are not large but that suits us. Much of the produce is local. Staff are quietly competent and knowledgable. You don't find this type of food in many places in Indianapolis. This, coupled with a pleasant, understated atmosphere makes it one of the better dining options in the City.

Indianapolis needs more restaurants like this...they just don't know it. I had the radish salad and the pork cheek entree. While the salad's dressing was a little heavy for my liking, the watermelon radishes were adorable and fresh. The pork cheek entree was full of flavor and to my surprise, didn't require salt. The service was spot on. I'll definitely be back.

Really wanted to love this place. Had heard good things about the chef and loved the repurposing of the old Smith & Hawken space - but it was a HUGE disappointment. Appreciate the fact that they have unusual items - for Indianapolis - but unusual doesn't trump preparation and covering things in olive oil doesn't make things delicious - it just makes them oily. I'll give it another go this summer when the patio is open, but it will take that long to get the taste and feel of the oil out of my mouth.

Overall a big disappointment. The menu sounds great until it arrives at your table lacking in both salt and moisture!
(2)
Amy M.
We had a nice server, but some of the menu items were sold out @ 7 pm on Sat, which happens. Do not order the Yellow tail, it was so full of bones and was not very tasty. There was quite a bit of ambient noise. I do not know why places do not use more sound deadenning materials in their construction. It would really add to the experience to be able to hear people at your own table.

Overall, the food was good, portion were very large, and the waiter was excellent / very knowledgeable of the menu. However, we did think it was over priced compared to Ocean Prime, St. Elmos, or Ruth Chris.....for fine dinning, there are a lot of better choices in Indy.

(5)Andy R.

This is going to be a rollercoaster review, has it's ups and downs. First the place: very elegant and romantic, date-worthy, awesome interior, love the walls of booze, the place settings, the view out the window, the patio, simply beautiful. The service: friendly staff, very attentive, we had a large group and all the separate checks were correct, even separated dishes for a few that shared instead of just bringing extra plates, lots of water refills and clearing of the dishes. The food: small portions, high prices, trendy of course, but the quality and taste experience was lacking, it was actually just bland. I had the hand-cut rigatoni, and the dish was rather bland, and small, very small. The worst part was the Rigatoni itself, there was nothing delicate about these things, they were tough and chewy (and I do like al dente, which this was not), too thick and doughy altogether disappointing. the other guest were equally uninspired by the offerings here. The Sticky Toffee Pudding: The one redeeming dish in this place. This is heavenly and 3 times the size of the entrée, or so it seemed. I would actually come back just to have this dessert along with some coffee. Summing up, everything but the food is great here, BUT isn't that the reason you go to a restaurant? I am still baffled how a kitchen can produce this awesome dessert and cannot get tasty entrees on the table???
(3)Travis C.
Excellent food! Very slow service, but they comped the item that took so long. For the price, I'll probably not return.
(3)Sunah K.

A great alternative in north Indy to a high price steak. Unique menu with many things to try. Unbelievably good service, which is hard to find these days.

Never disappoints. Great food and service! Will continue to support this restaurant. We need more like this in Indy!

Delicious, locally-sourced food in a nice atmosphere. Plenty of parking and close to the loop.

(5)Aleta M.

I was really expecting better food :-(
(2)Cortney H.
(3)Andrea J.

The more I eat here, the more I like it. The caviar pie appetizer is excellent. Last week I had the rabbit biscuits and gravy. It was amazing.

(5)Yoko K.
We went there for friends reunion. Friends are from Washington, D.C., and they are foodies. They as well as I loved everything we ate and especially the Pork chop was the best. I will definitely go back to this place.
(5)Bryan W.
Simply, great food and drink. I loved every dish I had for north side nights. If anything, have the sticky toffee pudding. I'll be back to have that ribeye and bone marrow. Well done!
(5)Matt M.
Stopped in for a quick drink on a Saturday evening before the rush. The bartender was super nice and talked us into trying their amazing palenta.

(4)Dawn Z.
I don't know that I can add much. I will say you have to get the fries with bone marrow butter and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The drink list is great as well. The bacon marmalade on my hubby's pork chop was heavenly. Great service, too.

My mother and I dined at LHK tonite for the first time; it was wonderful. I will say that in advance of our dinner I requested Joshua for our server based on another reviewer's recommendation. This had several employees abuzz when we arrived as to why we asked for Joshua. Joshua is very knowledgeable of the menu and his descriptions and enthusiasm for the selections had us changing our minds several times. We appreciated his attentiveness, warmth and professionalism. All staff we encountered were attentive and friendly, including the two hostesses who welcomed us. Chef Ryan is very creative with sauces as you will discover with your selections and they are VERY rich. While prices are a bit high, I feel our experience was an excellent value and servings were generous enough to share. We passed on wine in order to keep our spending lower. For $99 plus tip we had a perfect evening. For the small plates we enjoyed the fried oysters and also the Baccala. The sauces were tasty, rich and addictive. Although, Mom's an East Coast purist when it comes to her oysters and would have preferred hers naked (without the Creole Meuniere and Louis dressings). There were 5 big, fat oysters tasting fresh of the sea. The Baccala was wonderful - little finger-size baguettes with crab sauce and a lump of soft brie-like cheese. Joshua conveyed Chef's recommendation to enjoy a bite of the Baccala with the cheese, cherry tomato and radish slice, which I did. I ate every bit. For our entres, we ate the outstanding pork cheeks with risotto and the lamb ravioli. We also had a nice size side dish of roasted veggies. The pork cheeks were incredible; so tender that picking up a forkful resulted in the meat falling off. Mom also loved the risotto. The 5 lamb ravioli were sauced nicely but a bit 'lamb-y'. I think the ravioli could have been thinner so that it was delicate and tender enough to cut easily (I thought the ravioli was gummy). Still, it was delicious. By the time we finished, we were full but couldn't pass on the chocolate mousse for dessert. Remember when you went to the local ice cream shoppe as a child and shared a tall ice cream sundae - that's how our chocolate mousse arrived. With chocolate shavings and whipped cream it was decadent, the spoons standing straight up in the sky-scraper size glass. We finished every spoonful. Now it's the day after and I will add that the combinations of so many sauces and tastes that we shared were probably the cause of a poor night's sleep and the tummy turmoil I've experienced. Next time - not so much sharing of so many flavors! Beautiful restaurant with a kind of manly décor in colors of chocolate, carmel and ebony, featuring a minimalist contemporary vibe. Open and lit from lots of windows and a nearby fireplace, the ambiance was elegant without being pretentious. Memorable evening on a quiet Wednesday nite. Kudos to Joshua for the TLC and to Chef Ryan for his delicious and inspiring creations. To Chef: do you read the reviews? We hope so - for any constructive comments and to reinforce what's stellar as well.

With great food, drinks, service, and dessert this place has it all. It definitely deserves a spot on our top rated. We look forward to coming back.

Most recent visit we dined on the patio. Fabulous. As always every bite is delicious and the service outstanding.
(5)Alison Y.

(5)Joseph D.
Sit in the patio the patio and have Jason the bartender serve you. Awesome service.

(5)Kevin T.

(3)Amy L.
Great meal...Brussel sprout salad, pork cheeks and toffee pudding. I am extremely satisfied without feeling like I'm going to die I ate so much. Great service as well and a rather good cocktail made this a excellent experience for my first meal in Indy.
(5)Bob T.
One of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. Wonderful tasty food . Great service... Perfect timing of food delivery ... Nice decor. Upscale but not stuffy.
(5)Matt H.
Easily my favorite restaurant in Indy. The price is a little steep but for the quality you can't beat it. The restaurant has a nice balance of upscale seating and a comfortable atmosphere. If I had to eat at one place in Indy, this would be it.
(5)Richard H.
(5)Nicole S.
(3)Marshall K.
Great food, good service, sticky pudding FANTASTIC. Best of all, I think the front end staff and the chef have what I consider CLASS, based on my contact, their followup, and professionalism they showed.
(5)Jen T.

(4)Mish M.
(5)Tamara D.
The brussel sprout salad and the desserts were great. The main course for our table of 7 missed the mark. Dry or greasy meat. The pork chop was the exception. Delicious.
(3)S S.
Started with the pork belly.Very well prepared, melted like butter. Branzino was the whole fish of the evening and it delicious. Simply grilled, moist. I always end with the toffee pudding as its my favorite desert here. Service was terrific.
(4)Todd G.
Spot-on service and outstanding local and seasonal food. Great cocktails and solid wine list. Nothing else to say. I will recommend this place to anyone visiting Indianapolis.
(5)Trey R.
Great meal. Brussel sprout salad and rabbit sausage (not together). Great food plus classic cocktails, awesome local place.
(5)Judy L.

(2)Lauren W.
(5)Robert W.
(5)Bruno S.
(5)Jacob M.
(5)Shannan S.
(5)Katie T.
I appreciate a locally owned restaurant opening and working to create a new experience for diners by using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. However, for all of the excitement surrounding LHK, I was disappointed overall. The ambiance cannot be criticized, as it is a beautifully decorated space and the outdoor patio cannot be beat for dinner on a summer evening. I echo other reviews in the fact that even the glamour of the surroundings cannot justify the price tag for food that is lacking. The LHK lemonade - a mixture of lemon, gin, green chartreuse, and a few other ingredients - was refreshing, though heavy on the chartreuse in my opinion (the herb flavor of the liquor overpowered the citrus and juniper from the lemon and gin). The heirloom tomato tart that we had to start our meal with was delicious - the tomatoes were fresh and flavorful, with a perfect amount of béchamel to add a little creaminess. The pastry was also flaky and crisp, adding texture and delicious buttery richness. For entrees, we ordered the African vegetable tagine, which was the clear winner of the evening. The couscous was very creamy and all of the vegetables were perfectly cooked, and contrasted nicely with the salty feta and sweet golden raisins - a well balanced meal and a great exploration of different flavor and texture combinations. The pork ragu with fettuccine was tasty, but lacking. The pork was tender but oily, and the dish needed an element to cut the heavy fattiness of the meat (perhaps the addition of tomato paste to bring some acidity to the braising liquid used as a sauce). The dish was very one-dimensional, and while it was fine, it needed something more to make it worthy of the LHK menu. The roasted half chicken was moist, and the crispy potatoes were delicious... but it was still roasted chicken that lacked seasoning. I'm convinced that the sticky toffee pudding could never disappoint, and would recommend ordering the dessert as your entire meal if you wish to guarantee 100% satisfaction with your meal. The lemon icebox cake, on the other hand, is quite possibly one of the worst desserts I have ever had to pay for. The cake itself is not actually a cake, but, as described by our waiter, "scooped out"- somewhere between a cake and a pudding, with none of the good qualities of either. The lemon curd that was on top was a gel consistency, not the thick and smooth yet tart spread that I personally adore. There was a weakly flavored berry sauce that looked artificial in color, lacking the bright pink color and fresh sweet tart flavor expected of a homemade raspberry sauce. Perhaps the greatest disappointment of the evening was the service. I will credit the hostess with being friendly and accommodating, as part of our party arrived before our reservation and she was happy to seat us while we waited for the rest of our group. Our waiter, however, was less impressive. His knowledge of the dishes did not seem to extend much past the descriptions on the menu, and even though the restaurant was not busy, he seemed like he was in a hurry to take our orders. This would not be nearly so upsetting had he been friendly, or at least not rude. I was clearly unimpressed with the lemon icebox cake, and when he came to clear our desserts he asked how we had liked them. I told him that the lemon cake had been disappointing. He prompted me for more information, so I gave him a similar answer to the above review. Before I had even finished speaking, he had whisked the desserts off of our table and walked away, leaving me to feel as if my opinion had been dismissed and as if our business was not needed at LHK if we had any criticisms of the food. I had asked if the chef was in the kitchen because I am a great fan of dessert and wanted to see if an explanation of the preparation of the dish from its creator could excuse some of my dissatisfaction. Having worked in the food service industry, I would expect the server to at least offer to speak with the chef or express some sort of apology rather than ignoring a complaint completely and then avoiding our table for the remainder of the time we sat there.

(5)Bill J.
(4)Benjamin R.
Eh fine. General Tso pork belly is good like everyone says, but both entres were really bland. No beers on tap. The cool environment is all that keeps this from being a 2 star.
(3)Anthony H.
Great Food. Great Service. I recommend this restaurant anytime.
(4)Tony J.

(5)Maria D.
I loved the place and the taste of the food but the portions size are huge! It is hard to try different plates or even dessert.
(4)Christiaan G.
the ONLY place at which I'll dine when in the Keystone area of INDY. incredibly fresh, seasonal menu; check.
(5)Jamison R.

(5)Whitney S.
Great food. Great service. Excellent wine list. Beautiful outdoor seating. All the fish dishes are excellent. Would recommend to anyone. It's expensive but a great date restaurant. Nice bar too.
(5)Anthony E.

After two meals, I couldn't be happier. Great food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. The menu changes seasonally, and the choices have been great both times.
(5)M W.
First time to this restaurant. My partner said her Mahi Mahi was the best she tasted and the brussel sprout salad was pretty amazing. The chocolate mousse dessert was intense.
(4)Jeffrey F.
(5)Deana B.
(5)Cathy D.
A local gem with great food and atmosphere! The house-made bacon (on the wedge salad and hash browns) is the best bacon I've ever had anywhere. The roasted whole fish changes depending on what's fresh is always good. The sticky toffee pie is to die for.
(5)Matt B.
(3)Preston C.
Good service. Small, but excellent variety in the menu. The food was excellent. We will definitely go back. Also liked the atmosphere and decor. I would recommend this place to anybody anytime.
(4)Laurel R.

Great drinks, beautiful restaurant

(4)Richard H.
Poor service, food nothing to be excited about. Expensive! Many better places in Indy.
(2)Me G.
Delicious!
(5)Suzanne W.
(2)Debra F.
(2)Rick M.
Excellent says it all. From the initial greeting, servers, atmosphere, & food. The outdoor area was comfortable as well. Very nice evening. Will be back!
(5)Erik M.
The food was great. Service even better. Jason read us like a book, and steered us in all the right directions. Really hope this joint makes it. The locale isn't the greatest, but that is easy to forget. Great place to visit.
(5)Hidbigo S.

(3)Jon S.
(5)Stephanie B.
(4)Anne E.
(2)Rachanee K.
Overall a big disappointment. The menu sounds great until it arrives at your table lacking in both salt and moisture!
(2)Amy M.
(3)T F.
North side comfort food and classic cocktails at their finest.
(5)Josh W.
Overall, the food was good, portion were very large, and the waiter was excellent / very knowledgeable of the menu. However, we did think it was over priced compared to Ocean Prime, St. Elmos, or Ruth Chris.....for fine dinning, there are a lot of better choices in Indy.
