Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

For what it is, it's pretty awesome. Way better than something like Wendy's or McDonald's.

La Bamba is a great place to go when you need a burrito, and a cartoon facsimile of a burrito from taco bell just won't do. I've been going to La Bamba since college. Many people only see it as "after the bar food" which is really too bad. They always have fresh ingredients and make everything to order. The service is always friendly. If you've never had a burrito from a taqueria, this is a great place to start.

The portions live up to the logo of "Burritos as big as your head". The burrito will stuff even the hefty eaters. A burrito is always two meals for me but even more of a bargain. Large selection of meats from standard diced steak, chicken, combo of pork & steak, to many specialty meats. Topping selections are plentiful and additional toppings varying from menu listing will be an extra charge for each. Beans are vegetarian here prepared with no lard, fat or oil only salt and water. We've always found the quality of meat and toppings to be first rate and especially the avocados which can be questionable at some other restaurants. Tacos, well everything we've had over the past few years has always been good. Personally, I really enjoy the nachos with chicken, cheese, jalapenos, and lots of hot sauce. Lots to eat as with all their portions. As one of the reviewers noted avoid pork if missing your gall bladder which is hard for me to say since pork use to be my go to. Open late, 2 am I think, so if you find yourself wanting something other than burgers late at night keep LaBamba's in mind. North of Taco Bell on Lafayette Road. Fast service, good food and prices.

I wish no stars was an option, terrible sloppy, under seasoned food smothered in sour cream to hide the refrigerator flavor of the chicken !

Plain crap!!! Food is disgusting, this wasn't Mexican food. The prices are high for the horrible food you get! For those prices you can get two meals down the street at el maguey or better yet el taquero de la 46 located on high school and 30th st. Tried this place several times before concluding that I will never eat here again!! The place has an odor to it and it's not food you're smelling, the service is good, the guys that work here are friendly and do their jobs well from what I could tell, but just isn't enough to make this place a "go to" for burritos or any Mexican food for that matter.

With the slogan "Burritos as Big as your head", La Bamba answers the call. Do not eat before operating heavy equipment or if you have any afternoon deadlines. Service was fast and polite. Burrito was a advertised. They have fresh ingredients and everything is made to order. The extra hot sauce had plenty of kick to it. Moderately priced. I will be back to check out the rest of the menu. #GoodzGoneGlobal

You'll never go hungry at La Bamba. It is really high quality--for fast food. It's also much more traditional (and spicy if you'd like) than many other places. The tacos look exactly the same as they do in Mexico. My favorite thing on the menu is the super nachos. Top it with their homemade salsa! La Bamba is not the cleanest place and they charge for drink refills. If you are looking for a healthy meal, most choices on their menu will not be a good choice. Big you're looking to splurge (and not spend a lot of money), this is your place!

The steak and lengua burritos were delicious. I also got soft tacos but they were a little expensive. You will get a better deal at the restaurant in Carniceria Guanajuato but it isn't open 24/7 like La Bamba.

La Bamba's was once just a place to soak up a little alcohol after a night out with the masses reppin AXE body spray....but now I go there with a neutral BAC to actually enjoy the food and the atmosphere. My "go to" Burrito order is as follows: Regular/Chicken/Everyting/Add Sour. The flour tortilla's are grilled almost to a crunch. The chicken is shredded and quite juicy. Shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and diced onions round off the fixins. The beans have good flavor without being too lardy. They have 3 incredible sauces available....the mild tomatillo, the hot red sauce, and the top secret super hot sauce that you get on special gut destroying ocassions. The service is slow because they make it fresh on a grill top. I'm pretty sure the guys behind the counter are making fun of me 90% of the time when I go there. My buddy who is fluent in Burrito talk confirmed that the guys who work there basically clown on everyone.

The burritos are big and tasty. The steak super nachos are an awesome late night snack. Make sure you get plenty of the little hot sauce containers to drench everything with. Lately I've been a huge fan of their tacos. The pork is super juicy and delicious. I like this location better than the others because they have more fun ingredients like tongue, tripe, cactus, etc that i have not seen on other La Bamba locations menus. Go here instead of the Taco Bell next door.

they're open VERY LATE!! a friend's pregnant wife craves them in the middle of the night, thank gawd they really do have burritos as Big as your Head i LOVE their fried cactus with onion, tastes sort of like burnt green beans (it was a accident, don't ask) LOL they offer different kinds of meat like tongue & tripe but i love the pork, steak mix i prefer this location over the Broad Ripple one, this one seems Fresher & not as DRY

Contrary to what you might think, this is not just a place for college students to chow down after a night of drinking, although I did hear the first restaurant was in a college town. The food here is great and tends to be on the authentic end of the mexican food spectrum. The beans and rice are very good sides here. The Super Nachos are to die for with loads of warm gooey queso, and the burritos really are "as big as your head." Made with fresh ingredients and by guys who know what they are doing. The place is very cool, clean, open late and the guys who work there are very friendly and don't mind if you can't speak a work of Spanish. It might cost around $8 per person to get what you want, but it will be worth every penny. I always get steak on everything because the steak here is excellente. Look for La Bamba across Lafayette Road from Lafayette Square Mall.

It's alright...nothing great. I'm not a picky eater by any means, La Bamba is just average.

It's a burrito place with a bit of a twist. I liked the fare, don't get me wrong - but Chipotle made a better burrito for my buck. The tamales were decent though.
