I was invited here by some good friends to celebrate their arrival of their baby girl! I get there after my friends & I ordered the all you can eat popcorn shrimp. I asked for tarter sauce & the waitress said that their wasn't any! Ok......no problem, it already came with cocktail sauce, so I settled for that. Now my friend ordered iced coffee which took them an hour before they brought it out to him. It's iced coffee for goodness sake, where'd you go to Starbucks for it!? The fried french toast was dry he said. My other friend's steak was dry & over-cooked.. They mistakenly brought out pancakes instead of the french toast to begin with. So I ordered my daughter strawberry pancakes. The waitress then asks can she bring her out the ones that she just took back. So I said sure, why not! Then it took another 20 mins for that. My question is if you're bringing out the same ones you took back, why did it take so long?? So my pregnant friend asked for more shrimp. The waitress put the order in for her. About 20 mins later, my friend asked for a to go box. The waitress then told her that she couldn't bring her out the rest of the shrimp due to it being all you can eat. She wasn't allowed to take home the rest that she ordered. As if it was my friends fault the other shrimps weren't already there. So her husband just got tired of the poor service & asked for the manager. When the manager came out she was talking slang. Okay.....you are the manager & you come out talking to us like you kick it with us everyday! Not! I'm not judging people because they favor one race so much that the want to sound like they are that color, but please be professional at the same time! I do find it offensive & there's a time & place for everything. Then she comped out some of the order, but it took her three attempts before she got the order right! I'm not impressed at all with this place. So I say don't believe the HYPE!

Went to IOP on 56th St In Indy about 3:00 PM. At 3:40 still did not have food so requested to speak with manager. Was told that the manager would be out to see us. After another 15 minutes our food finally came out but I was still requesting to see the manager. When we left we still never got to see the manger. After 4 requests she still refused to speak with us. If a manager lacks the skills to deal with issues and concerns of her customers then maybe IHOP needs to review if she really should be a manager at all.

I just walked in this IHOP after a concert, ready for some delicious late night breakfast. As soon as I walked in I knew it was trouble. There was a large party to the left with many of them standing and staring as the manager argued quietly as possible with a man and woman in their 20s. The manager was saying the girl had kicked him as they complained about the bad service!?! What the hell! Just then a server comes from the kitchen and tells the people standing next to us and then us that the kitchen is infested with gnats and that we don't want to eat there. The manager stepped over and offered to seat us as the server shook her head behind his suggesting again not to eat there. I trust my instinct and was once a server, if the staff says not to eat there run like hell. Never ever going back!!

I used to like going to this IHOP. Now, um, not so much. The service used to be pretty good and for whatever reason, I love the Harvest Grain pancakes. Added bonus, IHOP sends you a coupon for free Rooty Tooty pancakes on your b'day. So this summer, a few days after my fabulous b'day, I went to IHOP to redeem my free pancake coupon. The cashier who took my take out order was friendly. I sat down in the waiting area and proceeded to text a friend as I waited for my food. No worries until I heard a screaming match ensue in the kitchen area between two female employees. I couldn't believe it! I could hear an expletive here then another expletive and another. Dang, I just wanted some pancakes not be a part of an episode of "Bad Girls Club!" I heard a few employees try to calm the ladies down. Then the argument spilled over into the waiting area where I was at! I couldn't believe it. The female employees are going back and forth spewing profanities. Wow! The manager and other employers continued to try to separate the ladies. Eventually they were able to get one of the belligerent employees out of the building. Omg! The manager apologizes profusely , but it was too late. I didn't even want the stinking pancakes anymore. Such horrid behavior and to make matters worse my hash browns were burnt! I'm hoping this was an isolated incident, but it was enough to make me never want to set a foot in the place again. The IHOP on the Westside is a much better...and safer...option.

Syrup is on the table already, which means that kids have been putting their hands (and probably mouths) all over them. You get what you pay for here.

Worst service ever. People getting sat after me were eating some were ready to leave. I asked the waitress what's going on. She immediately referred me to the manager. He took another 10-15 minutes to come out. At that point I was ready to leave. All this guy could say was I'm sorry. Wow "great customer service". I won't be back!

Always okay if it's a place that involved bacon on my plate. There are so many employees here though that it's more of a social event between the staff. They do seem to get distracted a bit from the actual job, and there were a few "ah-ha" moments when they finally recognized I was standing in front of them for a few minutes - both waiting for a table and waiting to pay. Food is always great though. And you get a WHOLE POT of coffee at the table.

I agree with everyone on the service, because sometimes it is like you are not even there. I have only been after 11pm for the most part, but I still expect to have a pleasant experience. The food is always good, but it seems like something is always messed up. Being one of the only places open 24/7 in Lawrence, I will be going back until something really bad happens...
