Great food. This is the neighborhood restaurant everyone should want in their neighborhood. Chicken Velvet is a classic and a must try. A variety of choices that will make everyone happy.

Want a healthy alternative? Get the grilled tenderloin (not breaded), skip the bun, ask for extra tomatoes, and your favorite low carb side. Delicious! I have lunch here each Tuesday as part of my networking group 11:30-1pm. The owners of George's always make us feel welcome and wanted. Join us!

We had a big group of 25 and had impeccable service and wonderful food. What more can you ask for! Cisco and Amy took good care of our group furnishing drinks and food faster than we could ask for! The food was delicious. With Cisco's recommendation I tried the BBQ pizza and it was great. Cracker crispy crust which is how I like it. My husband had the recommended breaded pork tenderloin and he was not disappointed. They were kind enough to put us in a room by ourselves which was good cuz we're loud. Our group captain did make a reservation so that helped. Come and visit. You won't be disappointed.

I was there on a first date. I called for a reservation a little after noon and was put on hold for a few minutes (strike 1) when she came back on I asked for a booth in the bar area and didn't even ask for my name, I had to offer it (strike 2). When we arrived they tried to seat us at a high boy next to the door. I again requested s booth and was told they are only for parties of 4 or more. We ended up sitting at a table set for six (yer out!). The food and service were good but not a great experience. It's an ok place to visit for a bartop meal but with a date not so much. I give them two stars because they saved the day by having Zombie Dust on tap.

They don't have the most amazing dishes in the world, but they're all good. Good reliable fast service. Nothing that wows me, but I've never been disappointed in the least.

Got the hummus appetizer which was ok but came with only two cucumber slices and lots of pita. I would have liked more cucumber. I also ordered the Greek salad. I had to send the first one back because of all the brown lettuce. I am not usually picky but it looked terrible. The second one was a little better but was mediocre at best.

So incredibly well impressed with the food here every time I visit. We even get carry out on a regular basis. And we have yet to be disappointed.

George's is great for many different crowds: families, large parties and groups of friends due to their large space. They have a family dining area, party rooms and a sizeable bar. I've experienced the restaurant as a member of all three of these crowds and have enjoyed George's every time. They really have something for everyone! I've had a number of their salads and really enjoyed those - especially the Pecan Crusted Tilapia Salad and the Black Forest Salad. I also love George's because they have so many wraps! The very veggie wrap with hummus is fantastic, really filling on its own plus you get a side. I've certainly never left hungry. Definitely recommend George's for anyone looking for just a different restaurant to try in a city of endless possibilities. I admittedly often forget about it, as its not really in an area of town I frequent. However, every time I go, I'm pleased with the food, atmosphere and service.

Carmen ordered steak burger, looks tasty. I ordered blackened tuna, it's okay kind of tough. French fries are nicely seasoned. Nice atmosphere. Carmen loves her steak sandwich with blue cheese, bacon. Looks good

George's Neighborhood Grill is the kind of restaurant where when George walks up to your table, you're not surprised and you know it before he even introduces himself. George's Neighborhood Grill is truly a "neighborhood" kind of restaurant, located in a strip center on Indy's Northeastside yet having that sort of retro cool vibe that makes you think about Sinatra, Martin, and other classic Rat Pack characters. With a warm decor and relaxed atmosphere, George's Neighborhood Grill is the kind of place where you could feel equally comfortable cozying up to the bar, gathering with friends or family for a meal or, if you're like me, heading in alone after a busy day at work to just chill out and read while enjoying a good meal. The strip center in which it is located includes an Uncle Bill's Express, a fitness center, a Tuesday Morning, and several other businesses. There are ample curb cuts along the building, all ADA compliant and well kept even during the winter, and there are two glass doors to enter George's. Upon entering, you are at a host area that is refreshingly separated from the dining area so when you have your meal you're not constantly interrupted by the sight of people arriving and leaving. There's a main dining area, a private room, and a bar area that seemed to be a bit busy tonight given the chatter one could hear from where I was at in the main dining area. While George's can get quite crowded, and this can be challenging for any wheelchair, they've situated the tables beautifully and it's quite easy to arrive and not have to worry about finding a space. The restaurant is located in a middle to most likely lower-upper class area comprised of mostly families and occasionally retired couples. You will see families, couples, and occasionally young professionals in George's and you get the sense that all feel comfortable. The first time I visited George's, I ordered the breaded tenderloin sandwich and fries. It was definitely very good. This time around, I went for my staple - The George, otherwise known as a burger with fries or, in this case, a cheeseburger (cooked medium well) with fries and my usual unsweetened iced tea. The verdict? The burger is good, but it's nothing outstanding. It's on a toasted bun and that definitely adds a nice texture to it, but the juicy beef lacked that certain spark that separates the true burger greats. That said, I enjoyed it immensely and for a meal under $12 I was definitely pleased. The service was friendly and attentive but not hovering. I got my usual iced tea refill, and I was impressed that when I said I planned to stick around for a few minutes after I was done eating to finish my tea and read that they didn't flinch. The first time I went to George's, it was with fellow Yelpers Rick G. and Holly G. I swore I'd be back, especially since I'm in the neighborhood frequently, but it seems like I've always been in a rush. Tonight, I dined alone and was welcomed in with a "Well, hey. You'll be dining with everyone then." I thought it was a terrific way to welcome someone dining alone into a restaurant. Is George's the best restaurant in the city? Nope. It is, however, a restaurant that is relaxing, warm, friendly, and serves up good food at a fair price. The service may be a tad spotty at times, but I've enjoyed friendly and helpful staff twice and they seem to work together well as a team. This time I can say it for sure - I'll be back!

I love George's. Great place to go and enjoy a drink, some food, and great atmosphere. I've been here many times and tried almost everything. You really can't go wrong, all the food is good. Drinks are also good and the bar is just as attentive and inviting as the dining room. Service has always been above average here, everyone is attentive and polite. It's nice and casual. Every time I have a friend in town or I'm out with someone -- George's is definitely a "go-to" place to just relax and catch up. (They also have a patio which is a huge plus for me.) I'm not sure when, but I know sometimes they'll have live music either outside or by the bar. (which is nice to get a drink and just enjoy the music). My favorites are definitely the pork tenderloin sandwich, the seared ahi tuna appetizer (I really love the ahi tuna, I order it as my meal a lot), I also love the grilled tuna filet.

This was my second visit here. We had already had dinner elsewhere and was coming in for a couple drinks. They offer a dining area to the right and bar area to the left. The large booths in the bar area look cozy and there is candlelight at each booth/table. The decor and ambience is very nice here. Both visits, there have been live acoustic music on the bar side. The service at the bar is quick and spot on. Their local beer draft selection was minimal and so after a beer, I ordered a lemon drop martini. The prices were not noted on the drink menu and I was a bit surprised when I seen my $12 drink on the bill. It wasn't premium liquor.. My Sun King pint was $5.50. Although I didn't eat this time, I had a chance to sneak peeks at food coming out and it all looked good. A lot of burgers, sandwiches, and I even saw a large pizza in the mix. Next time I'll have to eat, as other Yelpers have given positive reviews on the food.

I've been to George's twice for lunch, and I don't have a lot of desire to go back. Today, I had a French dip "with au jus" (huge pet peeve), and it was just highly mediocre. The prime rib was pale and anemic, and the sandwich was poorly constructed with most of the cheese and other toppings only on one side of the bun. I had hope for the pretzel bun, but it too fell flat. The fries were well seasoned but clearly formerly frozen. I'm not sure what I had previously (perhaps the chicken velvet soup?), but it didn't really make an impression, either. The service is really solidly average. Our waiter was a little awkward and a little off with timing things, but he seemed to be a nice enough guy. For two lunches and two non-alcoholic drinks plus tip, the total was $31, which was pretty pricey considering the quality. The restaurant itself is laid out well, clean, and has some nice patio seating.

I did not want to like this place but it wasn't too bad. I got the open faced steak sandwich. The ribeye was heavily seasoned and was cooked perfectly. The only problem was it was just a steak served on top of a piece of toast. It just needed something more. For $11.49 is was lacking something. The fruit cup mostly pineapples and grapes. We also ordered sliders. The buns were cold. The cheese was not melted. The burgers tasted like they were frozen. Skip the sliders. Service was very good.

Food - Very good. Drinks - Very good, but very over priced. Service - Hit or miss. Bartenders are usually very good, wait staff is usually not good. Restaurant - Great layout, very clean. They usually have live music. Sometimes they have live music during sporting events which is confusing to me - as the music is located in the bar area so you essentially have to watch a sporting event on mute. And they definitely get a crowd for the music. If you're going to watch a game make sure they don't have live music going, assuming you want to hear the game. I think I realized this going for Thursday Night Football. Come on people!

Is it Tuesday? If the answer to that question was YES, then head to Georges! You can get a free appetizer when you purchase a bottle of wine. Now thats what I am talking about! I had the $19 bottle of Pinot Grigio. It was really good. We had the breaded shimp for the appetizer. OMG! The best breaded shrimp I have had. It tasted, fresh, clean and each piece was huge. The cocktail sause was on a whole 'nother level. Dont take my word for it, just try it. We asked the waitor and he said it is all made in house and prepared to order. We also go the White Pizza. Incredible! We will definately be returning to Georges to sit on the patio again! Tastey food, well prepared and reasonably priced- I am sold!

What a great spot, I'm traveling in from Chicagoland meeting with local clients and this was a recommendation from a friend I had asked for something that wasn't a chain and was more along the lines of a local flavor, the food was delicious!! I enjoyed a burger and it was awesome!! A Nice hand packed Patty, not your run-of-the-mill frozen fair. Check it out, I sure will again.

How much do I love George's? Let me count the ways. Our family of four comes here so often that I'm too embarrassed to check in every time. Tonight was a fundraiser for our school, where the restaurant donated 20% of every check. Cha Ching! Great excuse to go. The fish tacos did not disappoint. Love the guac sauce on top. Son had seared tuna sandwich, which looked yummy too. I love that the owner checks on tables, and tonight even bussed ours. This is a great locally owned place. Go!

Went last night with family and had the salmon special. Grilled salmon with a lemon butter sauce and capers, very very good. One of the owners stopped by our table and asked about our dinner and the waiter was very attentive. I love this place, cozy atmosphere and lots of friendly patrons for a Monday night.

Love this place! We typically go on Saturday nights as there is always a live band in the bar. Their food is great. Their GREEN BEANS are amazing! The filet mignon is great too. And I basically recommend all of their fun cocktails too! They also have a GF menu which is super nice! Oh and they have TVs in the bar area too!

I went to George's for lunch today with my boyfriend to try and warm up with the chicken velvet soup. The soup was delicious as always but I will not be returning due to the awful service. Jameson was our server, I think. He was also busy bar tending and didn't get a chance to check on us. It took 10 minutes for us to get menus and another 20 for my boyfriend to to get his beer. My wine came quickly but it was not the wine I ordered. My boyfriend and I both ordered a cup of the chicken velvet soup and split the chopped salad with the gorgonzola on the side. While I was waiting for the food to arrive I noticed that the servers and managers liked to hang out at other open tables in the bar and chat loudly. It was very distracting and inappropriate in my opinion. Thirty minutes after ordering I asked Jameson it we could please have our soup before the salad as there wouldn't be enough for all of it on the table. He apologized and quickly brought out the soup. Two minutes later another server dropped off the salad but I had to send it back because the Gorgonzola wasn't on the side like I asked. Jameson never stopped to ask about the meal. The food was fine but after today I won't be going back.

I go to George's for the chicken velvet soup because it's the only place in town that sells it. Food is good. Not great. But service is always awful. Slower than slow & everyone who works there seems like they would rather be anywhere else but there. Forgetful & aloof.

Can't believe I haven't reviewed George's yet! It is in our neighborhood, and were regulars, with visits at least 2-3 times a week. In a word, it's wonderful! The food is consistently good, and there are truly some gems on the menu. George's has great burgers, steaks, salads, and the breaded tenderloin is one of the best I've had. If you go, dig a little deeper for some of the hidden (not really) gems on the menu, like the open face steak sandwich, breaded chicken sandwich (I like mine buffalo style), and the pecan crusted tilapia salad. Great food, great service, a great bar with craft beers, and a great family dining room, my family feels fortunate to have such a wonderful place nearby. Here's another little secret, they have some of the best pizza around - seriously! Go in and say hi to owners Jimmy and Karen, they're always there, and always personable. Definitely one of the great neighborhood restaurants in Indy.

The positive reviews indicate two things: 1) the owner has friends or relatives who will post decent reviews and 2) Hoosiers will eat anything and don't know good food/service from bad. Accordingly, most Indianapolis area dining is predictable and mediocre, just like those at George's.

I've driven past this place so many times and always noticed how packed it is. I stopped in for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the food. It looks like a typical bar and grille, good for families and sports fans. Plenty of TVs on the inside and great seating outside on the patio. They even have space to accommodate large parties. Our server was very friendly and offered drink specials right away. We jumped on the deal for a free appetizer with a bottle of wine. For the entree we ordered the white pizza to go along with our bottle of white wine and fried shrimp appetizer. The pizza was fantastic and so were the shrimp. I was pleased to hear that the very tasty cocktail sauce is a house-made specialty. Overall I was very impressed with the food, service and atmosphere. This place is on the cusp of 5-stars and it should only take one more visit to earn the coveted perfect score.

Great food! I was very satisfied. I got a really nice steakburger, and a salad with an EXCELLENT homemade black cherry dressing. But I'm a little confused. The ambiance is nice and classy, low lighting, lots of wood, but the waiters are all wearing shorts and baseball caps. It's weird. I get that it's a bleed over from the neighborhood sportsbar thing, but it just sends mixed messages about the dining room. So all in all, a decent place to stop in, but not somewhere I'll be a regular. Unless you are looking for a nice bar to frequent, then its probably great.

Honestly, this place sucked. My parents were in town and we wanted to go somewhere nearby. We sat down at 4 on a Saturday afternoon and were literally the only ones there. By the time the waiter got to us, we'd been sitting there for over 15 minutes (the hostess got us our drinks). We ordered the pizza. The crust was waaaay too thin (honestly, it was more like flatbread) and the bottom was burnt. Once our food came, the waitrr didn't come back again. We had to wave down another waiter to get our bill. Will not be returning.

Smelled like carny pee! So, my girl and I go into this place for a quick dinner on a weekday night. The minute we walk in the place smells like carnival pee ruminated in a corner somewhere. We sit down hesitant for obvious reasons. Our server was rude to say the least. We decide to try just an appetizer in order to test the kitchen. We order the "homemade" hummus with veggies. The menu stated homemade, but that could not have been further from the truth. It tasted take pureed hummus from a can. Needless to say, we will not be back.

Great neighborhood Bar. I have a lot of respect when i see the owners walking around greeting the guests and also helping serve or whatever needs to be done. The specials are a great price. I eat out at a lot of restaurants and I enjoy going to support our local places. The food is a more upscale bar food. I enjoy Monday nights the best as they have a filet that is awesome at only $12.95 with potato green beans and a salad. If you enjoy a good salad dressing then you need to get the homemade Black Cherry. OMG it is the best. I always see people I know there and it just gives you an upscale feel of being in a bar. Plus i can smoke my cigar outside on the patio in just a certain area. On my way home I can call in a take out order and just pull up and they come running with the order. Great for on the go.

Great food, great staff! To find quality like this elsewhere, you'll likely pay much more. The atmosphere is fun and inviting. You can be entertained by the band's that perform or the interaction with other customers or staff. I doubt that you'll go wrong with any of the menu items. Personally, I recommend the ahi tuna as an appetizer and the open faced steak sandwich.

We've been to George's several times. The bottom line is, we like it....but not enough to make a special trip there. the food is always good, but, with the exception of the tenderloin, not great. The service is always adequate, but not outstanding. It's a good, solid restaurant that with just a little work could be a standout.

Salty..I had fish tacos. There are 2 on a plate I ate one. My first time here and I'll go again but next time I'll tell them to hold the salt! good warm pretzel bread sticks. I also wanted to taste or sample the ribs Not even one bone I had to order a appetizer portion that was overpriced at 9.99 Glad I didn't order ribs for dinner! yeah they were falling off the bone..everyone knows ribs belong on the bone lol. You don't eat ribs with a knife and fork! These must have been oven or crock pot ribs? the black pepper overpowered the meat. Slimy meat drenched in sauce..ribs are tricky and this obviously isn't their forte'. I brought them home wasn't going to trash them so I'll redo a bit and have for dinner at home tonight. Bar food experts for sure..the fries are frozen not sliced and fried fresh! The live music was nice. It was a 40.00 night including tip.

Try the ribs. They really do fall off the bones. And the seafood bisque is amazing. We stopped here to watch a basketball game and grab dinner. Portions were quite generous. Service was fast and friendly and the food was very good. The menu is also quite paleo or gluten free friendly.

Went here on a whim with no expectations... sat at the bar. Lots of TV's, friendly & quick service, and very tasty food. Had the tenderloin sandwich, and it was one of the better one's I've had in Indianapolis. The place was packed at 7pm on a Friday night. Looks like they have live music frequently. Will definitely go back when I'm in the area.

Food is good and I like the variety. Service is spotty and sometimes downright rude. A really unpleasant encounter with a bar tender who turned off a tv we were watching in spite of our protests (no one else was around or cared) has kept us from returning though the place is close and we often ordered takeout. Treating customers right is a must for an independent business. We go to Sahms now...always great service and great food too.

Given the other reviews, I was somewhat surprised when my group decided to hold a dinner meeting here. The space was pretty intimate. The male wait staff we had was nice. However, the lady who assisted him in bringing out the entrees was obnoxious and unprofessional. Once, the meeting started and she began to deliver entrees she'd make remarks like who is that smelling so good. It really is a nice scent. OMG! We are in the middle of a meeting. The other guy came quietly and left. But, not so bad as to ruin the evening! I ordered the blackened salmon and mashed potatoes with a side salad and water. The total was $18 bucks and some change. The salmon was wonderful. However one of my fellow dinners commented the salad was Dole - straight out the bag. I thought it was fine for a side salad. The owner and his wife came in and thanked on for coming to their restaurant which I thought was really nice. They have free Wii-fi which is a nice plus! Great location. Right off of 465. They have a variety of options from burgers to steaks to pasta to fish.

I love finding new spots that are not in the chain restaurant industry. George's gives you a family bar and grill feel, but because it offers you the bar area, I can get away from the families. I don't have children, so i don't want to listen to them whine at dinner or get hit with bread-stick tantrum crossfire. We were here on a live music night. Other then the one chick that was drunk and acting retarded, it was a great experience... she was acting like a drunk college girl groupie in the front of the bar. I am just a little too beyond that scene. We enjoyed the meal, a little pricey for a neighborhood bar and grill, but I didn't mind for the high quality. Would deff do the jalapeno poppers again!

Lorand M.
Food is slightly better than standard Indy pub fare...a wee bit better than the chains. Not a heck of a lot of imagination in/on the menu. Indy just cannot get away from the fresh out of the bag from sysco food offerings. Wine offerings are surprisingly pretty interesting. Service as has been mentioned before....is abysmal. Overall....a very nice addition to the area...food is better than average.... locally owned...servers and bartenders are nice...just out of it !

I love the fact that this is not a chain restaurant and it is doing so well. The reason I am not giving it a higher rating is because I have had some sub-par experiences. The first time we went for a meal we hung out in the bar. It was not a busy day and the service was really bad. We had to go up to the bar and order our drinks after 10 minutes of waiting and watching 3 servers chat amongst each other. Food was not very good at this visit. (it was a 1 star visit for sure) that was about 9 months ago. I am so happy to report that things have changed a lot since that first visit. I have met friends here for girls night 3 times since that first experience and the service has been great. The live music is pretty good and Fat Tire bier on draft makes me happy. The food is a step up from bar food, nothing fancy but I am not looking for fancy at a local pub. I have had to send food back for being prepared wrong, but the serves and owner went out of the way to make it right. Like most people I am looking for a friendly environment close to home with good cold bier and decent eats at an affordable price. Georges meets all the above. Looking forward to spending some more time and giving an updated rating!!
first off, great food. on to the negatives, if you want to order take out, expect your order to be wrong each time you get take out. this was my fourth and final time doing that.. having someone in my family be diabetic means we rely on the description of food preparation to be as is.. grilled tilapia turns out to be breaded and fried when you get take out. expect your house salad to be given to you as a chop salad with bacon. expect the bowl of soup you ordered I be a cup of soup.. also expect your phone put on hold for them to answer multiple other calls and keep on forgetting your order. horrible service. I have to add however that I have always had a great experience inside the restaurant.. I just wish that experience was as great with takeout.

George's is a great place, always a crowded parking lot. It is a nice atmosphere with a dining room and bar in separate rooms. You can be in the bar enjoying live music and not realize at all what is going on in the dining room and vice versa. They have tv's in both rooms and are good at accomodating larger groups. They have some private rooms available for meeting groups etc. The food is good, they have a pretty good variety of American Grill type of food. They have daily specials. The owners are always walking around greeting folks and making sure things are going well. They take pride in what they do and want folks to be happy and enjoying their time. Neighborhood Grill is a good fit for the place. Good for families and for adults wanting to feel away from the family scence in the bar.

You have to go on Thursday nights -- best live music I've heard in a while. Probably should stick to the bar side, the rest of the restaurant is pretty underwhelming. Humus is terrible even though they highlight it on the menu but the other apps are very good.

Love the food and large beer selection. It can be a lively atmosphere at times, which makes timely service a challenge for the staff...but worth the wait. If you're lucky, Jim (owner) may stop by and offer his help to make your evening more comfortable. Keep up the good work, Jim!

Wow, returned to George's last night. First, it was extremely busy on a Thursday night, so it must be doing something right. But wow, was it unpleasant. It took 25 minutes for the server to take our order. She came out with an armful of drinks, spilling their contents as she walked. She cleared tables in the roughest manner imaginable, at one point flinging a fork toward our table. The expediter brought us someone else's food. On top of that, there were tons of children running around (so yes, it's kid friendly). There's a game room that was piled high with chairs - apparently now being used as a storage room, although the games were turned on. In fact, the whole corridor leading to the restrooms was cluttered and unattractive. The band in the bar sounded pretty good.

I went to Georges on an impromptu lunch date with a dancer friend one saturday after performing at the binford farmers market. I was pretty happy to see that they have a gluten free menu that was incorporated into the regular menu. I was a little sad to see that it was essentially salads for lunch and steaks for dinners - something common to any restaurant, but it is nice they tried. Not feeling like having a salad, i had a burger, no bun (not marked gf because the entree came with a bun). The burger was good and my friend enjoyed her sandwich. I might go back again when i am nearby wanting a salad, especially since they have really nice outside seating.

I ordered the Reuben, which was decent, but nothing over the top. Anita loved her tenderloin sandwich, and said it was the best she'd had (better than CR Heroes???? How can that be?). Service was really good and attentive. I'll have to try something else off the menu before deciding if I love this place or not.

Im really surprised to see this place doesn't have closer to 4.5 stars. We visit this place a lot for both dinner and lunch. The specials have always been phenomenal. I love getting the Talapia Tacos for lunch. This place is usually pretty busy during the dinner hours, but I've never had to wait more than 10 min to get a table. They have a very diverse and high quality menu. You can always get The George (their burger) for under $8, or try some of the fancier fair they have to offer. I have always had the best service here. In fact, the one time someone hadn't been to our table to get drink orders within 2min, the owner, George himself, stopped by and took our orders and made sure that we we're being taken care of. He runs a pretty tight ship and it shows. This place is excellent and I never think twice to take friends and farm here for either drinks at their amazing bar or dinner in the awesome dinning area. Give'em a try.

George's is locally owned and operated and it just keeps getting better and better. For you beer lovers, there's Bells and other crafts on tap. The last time I went there solo I tried the tasty fish tacos and they were very good and a great value. George's features a good, solid menu. I've been there several times for dinner a few times with friends. One time, we had a hankering for Sangria for some odd reason, and they were happy to oblige us: what a nice surprise! I hear it's a great place for gatherings, too. George's is in the top of its class of mid-range, all-purpose restaurants. It will be interesting to see how it evolves.

Opening in 2007, George's fills a void in an area where not much dining exists. A casual restaurant and bar with contemporary design, it is perfect for people on the northeast side. The menu is nothing special, but it's good. I definitely enjoyed the wings and salad that I ordered. The bar area is large, and multiple flat-screen TVs make watching a game a great experience here. They always have the local games on (e.g. IU basketball, Colts, Pacers) and you can sit at the bar, or at one of the high-top tables or booths. The dining area is also sizeable, and the restaurant also has a private room for groups to rent. The place is non-smoking, and it's a great place to take kids during the day.

Great place to eat at. Good service and the owner goes around to check on tables. On mondays they have a filet special for $11.

I ate lunch there on Sunday and it was good. Our waitress was great and always made sure we were taken care of. The food was served in a timely manner and tasted great. We will go back if in the area. Two thumbs up! :)

The food was good, at least the breaded tenderloin, but the young woman who was our server ( I think her name was Lisa) needs to learn more about proper service techniques and etiquette before she can be proficient. I met two friends and came with another from out of town, and after about an hour into the 2 1/2 hours were were there she came sparingly. I asked for a certain non alcoholic drink and she snorted "We don't have that!" Excuse me. I also asked for a water refill, and she took my original glass (which hadn't been used for a half-hour and had melted ice water in it) and poured water out of a pitcher into it. Gross and unsanitary. I asked for a fresh glass, but the next time she appeared it was for our bill. Luckily for her, because I was designated driving my out-of-town friend, he paid for my food. After he paid, there were no thank-yous or have a nice evenings from this server. Unprofessional and rude. I would have had a problem tipping this individual the customary amount - if anything.

It's always exciting when a new locally-owned restaurant opens, so needless to say, Binford Boulevard was buzzing with excitement when George's Neighborhood Grill opened. But the excitement was met with a bit of a letdown once we actually ventured over to try it out. While the decor is fun and classy with exposed pipe ceilings and a lot of black and brown in the color scheme, the food didn't pack the punch we were hoping for. A quick survey of a few of our friends found the same reactions: "Service wasn't great." "Food was cold." "A bit run-of-the mill." One of our friends ordered the onion straws appetizer and said what came to the table was not what she expected at all, and they were cold. I had a fried chicken salad, which was huge, but it didn't have enough chicken on it at all. My husband got the salmon, but wasn't thrilled. The frozen salmon we buy at Sam's Club and grill in the back yard is much better.

Solid food menu. Good beer rotation. Awesome drink pours. Friendly staff. Owners always on site. Go there.
(5)Ramsey M.
They don't have the most amazing dishes in the world, but they're all good. Good reliable fast service. Nothing that wows me, but I've never been disappointed in the least.
(4)Dana W.
(2)Katherine B.

(5)Sarah C.

(2)David G.
(4)Frank C.
(3)Rachael L.

(4)Jen T.
Go!
(5)Ronnie W.
Went last night with family and had the salmon special. Grilled salmon with a lemon butter sauce and capers, very very good. One of the owners stopped by our table and asked about our dinner and the waiter was very attentive. I love this place, cozy atmosphere and lots of friendly patrons for a Monday night.
(5)Lindsay P.
(5)Kimberly S.
I need LOTS of drinks to not think about worms in my food!! I'm hungry but scared to eat anything!! I love George's food!! No problems here!!
(5)Shelby T.
The food was fine but after today I won't be going back.

great food in a friendly atmosphere. the waitstaff is the best, especially Molly Jesse, and Kathi. try the chilean chicken az it is very good. i reccomend this restaurant very highly.
(5)Stephanie H.
I go to George's for the chicken velvet soup because it's the only place in town that sells it. Food is good. Not great. But service is always awful. Slower than slow & everyone who works there seems like they would rather be anywhere else but there. Forgetful & aloof.
(1)Jon S.
(4)Rod R.
The positive reviews indicate two things: 1) the owner has friends or relatives who will post decent reviews and 2) Hoosiers will eat anything and don't know good food/service from bad. Accordingly, most Indianapolis area dining is predictable and mediocre, just like those at George's.
(1)Chris S.
(4)Nicole S.
Great atmosphere
(5)Michael J.
Good place! Restaurant and bar area are both very comfortable, and the wait staff/bartenders are very friendly. The food shines above all else though! YUM!
(4)Kay C.
Just had a great evening at George's ! Mike went beyond expectation to set our group up in our own room. Service was great - as was the food. Looking forward to going back and recommending George's to friends.
(4)Brenton A.
(3)Shannon G.
(2)Matthew P.
(1)Bada B.
(5)Mike S.
(5)Rick G.
We've been to George's several times. The bottom line is, we like it....but not enough to make a special trip there. the food is always good, but, with the exception of the tenderloin, not great. The service is always adequate, but not outstanding. It's a good, solid restaurant that with just a little work could be a standout.
(3)Matt K.
A loud and miserable dinning experience with mediocre food and flaky service. There are better choices in the area.
(2)spoken k.
(3)Alex K.
Ate at George's last night and experienced slow service, loud atmosphere, & average food.
(2)Colleen D.
Try the ribs. They really do fall off the bones. And the seafood bisque is amazing. We stopped here to watch a basketball game and grab dinner. Portions were quite generous. Service was fast and friendly and the food was very good. The menu is also quite paleo or gluten free friendly.
(4)Chris C.
(5)Kay N.
(1)Temeka E.
(3)Amber H.
(4)Lorand M.
(3)Shelly F.
(3)Adrian K.
I'm glad I said, "yes" to attending George's Neighborhood Grill. The food was lip-smacking good. The grill definitely gives off that formal business attire vibe. The black décor sparkled with elegance. The huge booths stood out to me along with the nice sized tables as well. The atmosphere makes you feel older. Hmm... the eatery just has a mature feel to it. Anyways, George's Neighborhood Grill is a flavorsome spot.

first off, great food. on to the negatives, if you want to order take out, expect your order to be wrong each time you get take out. this was my fourth and final time doing that.. having someone in my family be diabetic means we rely on the description of food preparation to be as is.. grilled tilapia turns out to be breaded and fried when you get take out. expect your house salad to be given to you as a chop salad with bacon. expect the bowl of soup you ordered I be a cup of soup.. also expect your phone put on hold for them to answer multiple other calls and keep on forgetting your order. horrible service.

Great food, good atmosphere, friendly staff and a good band. We were able to have a nice dinner in the dining room and take a few steps and be in a fun bar.

Large and diverse menu. Bar area is pleasant, dining room can be cramped. Had a private birthday party here which was superb. Good beer selection as well. I like the fish tacos.

We like this place and visit often. It's hard to find a non-chain mid priced place. The food is pretty good and there's a good variety of choices as well.

The food and service is always good.

Great place - only been there a few times but service and the food was terrific. Also the prices are VERY reasonable. Well laid out restaurant (separate bar area) and plenty of tables that can be placed together if a big group.

This is turning into one of our favorite spots! Always great food, always friendly staff. We eat there as a special couple dinner and we have brought all 4 kids. Great either way!

Plus Column: The area needed a local bar/ restaurant Cheap Drink Specials Daily Lunch Specials Black Cherry Vinaigrette Dressing Minus Column: Sub-par Service Looks to me as the plus's out weigh the negatives!

The food is pretty good, but the service has been incredibly slow and borderline rude every time we've been here. After three tries, we won't be back. This is unfortunate, because I really like to support local small businesses and restaurants.
