Tuesday Nights are great at Fox and Hound with $2 pints it is an easy decision to get another beer. The new brat and cheese soup was exactly that brat and cheese goodness. Service was very good Jenni was always close but never hovering.

I was looking for a Happy Hour place near the Castleton Mall area, since I work nearby. Fox & Hound was recommended, especially on Tuesdays due to the $2 pint special. Overall, it is an adequate establishment, but it did not particularly blow me away -- I expected more energy and festivity for this exalted "$2 pint night," but mostly, I experienced a crowd and a nice bar that had barely enough staff to handle the throng. I arrived around 5pm on a Tuesday. There were no seats at the bar, but they have these long tables with bar stools that sit back from the bar. One of them was marked "Reserved" so I sat at the other one. I was the only person sitting there. I pulled out some work and began creating lesson plans. Within five minutes of sitting, I was approached by a friendly waitress. She took my drink order, and left me with a menu. Upon her return, I decided to go big, since I was going to be there through the dinner hour. I ordered steak, and a pint of Stella Artois. My drink and beer arrived in a timely fashion, and my meal arrived within an acceptable time-frame, as well. The steak was cooked to my specifications, and was excellent. As I lingered over my meal, still doodling with lesson plans, I noticed the crowd increasing. Two businessmen sat at the end of the long table where I was seated, but this was not a problem; it was clearly designed as communal seating for about 10 people. They proved to be fairly social, and chatty guys. I ordered a second beer from my waitress, and she was noticeably more busy; it took some effort to flag her down. My beer arrived, and the server did not remove my empty beer glass. I continued to drink my pint, and with about 1/3 of a beer left, I began to look for my waitress. She had been swallowed by a throng of patrons - standing, sitting, milling about, and mostly watching TV screens and the basketball game. Curiously, people seemed to prefer standing, as myself and the two businessmen were still the only folks sitting at this large table. I finally flagged down my waitress, and ordered another Stella. She nodded and disappeared. I finished my beer and placed the empty glass next to the one in front of me. I then proceeded to watch the bar printer spit out my order as she rang it in. I watched the bartender (later discovered he was the bar manager) pour the Stella and sit it on the bar in the server's area. I stared at my cold beer for seven minutes. The bartender came back to the beer, looked at the ticket, came out from behind the bar and approached the two men on the end of my table. He asked if they ordered a Stella, and they said "No." He did an immediate about face, and stalked back to the bar. Now let's pause a moment here. I've waited tables, and bar tended, so I feel at least a bit justified in certain expectations. This guy poured a beer which was definitely rung in by a server. He took the beer to the table number that was obviously on the ticket and what should he have seen as a trained service industry professional? He should have seen two men seated across from each other, both with nearly full pint glasses and meals in front of them. Neither of them was drinking a beer pale enough to be Stella. He should have seen THE ONLY OTHER PERSON AT THE TABLE (i.e. me) who was sitting alone, with TWO EMPTY PINT GLASSES in front of him. At the very least, he could have inquired if the Stella was for the beer drinker with the empty pint glasses. But no, he stalks off back to the bar as soon as the "No" has cleared the lips of the businessmen and stashes it in the cooler. I'm stunned. Okay, eventually I got my beer, and they even comped it (and the one that followed), but I felt like that cell phone commercial...I wanted to look at the camera and say, "Seriously?!" Maybe I caught them on a bad night, but there was nothing particularly distinctive about this bar. It's a chain style British pub, in a strip mall, that sells pints for $2 on Tuesdays, and as a result, attracts a crowd. My local pub does $2 Tuesday pints, and I can walk there....

usually just come here to watch the Packers play if they are not on TV. Service is usually pretty solid unless they are busy

All I have to say is $2.00 pint night!! Yipeee!! I have been a fan of Fox and Hound since Memphis THEN Birmingham NOW Indy. This place is no where near my home but I have spent quite a few Tuesday nights enjoying my pint. I am not a fan of the smoke but I tolerate it...wanna know why? Duhhh $2.00 pint night!!

It just keeps getting better and better. $2 Tuesday night pints make my day. Great service.

I started going back to this place after they finally stopped smoking in the place after the ban was passed in Indy. I had liked it the food and beer specials before, but couldn't handle the smoke. I go Tuesday a lot now because they do $2 pints of all the beers they have on tap, which is one of the best selections in town. Their food if excellent. I had the onion rings last night, and believe it or not, they were not dripping with grease like you would get at most places, but lightly breaded and crunchy, with a dipping sauce. Previously, I've had the French dip, which comes on a fresh Ciabatta with some good roast beef.

Great place for after work, good beer specials and perfect to gather with friends for a game or two of pool.

Decent specials--but the real reason I like the 'Hound is shuffleboard and big TVs to watch games. The food ain't bad--if you know what to get. I tried their chicken tortilla soup, and it tastes like chili covered in marinara sauce. The chicken and cremini mushroom pizza (they call it "basil pesto," but I don't taste any pesto) is really good, with chunks of cheese sprinkled around it. My only complaint: The cracker-thin crust makes for a less substantive pizza, and the traditional style is $1 more.

Great beer specials and the food is above average. Go for the fish and chips, best i've had in a while. Tuesdays are $2 pint night, on all beers. Only drawback is that the atmosphere gets pretty smokey late night. Bartenders are fun and carry a good conversation. Definitely recommend, just leave the young ones at home for fear of lung cancer.

I've been back twice since my first time...three weeks ago and last night...and that's because Adrianne my server the first time works most Fridays and I wanted to have her serve me. Adrianne not only is easy on the eyes but is very friendly professional and prompt and is a sweetheart...and if it isn't real busy like last night she'll take time to talk to you for a couple minutes. I didn't get much to eat because I ate before I got there..I got potato skins to go and they were good....the nacho platter I understand is huge...I'll have to try out the other food later....there are about 50 bottled beers and one is called Young's Dirty Dick (I'm serious). There are lots of sports on TV including the baseball package and UFC. Back to the service....if you go to Fox & hound and if Adrianne is working please ask for her...and please tip her very well

I am definitely biased in making this recommendation -- my husband and I had our first date here back in 2005. The food is nothing special and the beer/bar selection is nothing spectacular. However, the atmosphere is fun for watching games and the bar food is stuff that you can never go wrong with. This place can definitely get packed and the wait staff do have a tendency to forget about you after a while. They are quick to remedy that, however, if you remind them that you are there.

I've had the same thing at the Fox & Hound both times I've gone here: Grilled chicken and coconut shrimp. Mmm mmm mmm. The prawns are huge and the chicken has a yummy glaze on it that I makes my mouth water. Is it teriyaki? Is there a hint of honey? I don't know, but it's deeelish. I also love the dipping sauce that comes on the side ... an orange-flavored treat. The Fox & Hound is an English Pub & Grille, so you'll find a nice sampling of good drinks as well!

I have been at this location for work functions a few times. Sometimes its just 3-4 of us for a few drinks after work, we also had a huge event here a month or so ago for a company anniversary party. They closed down the larger of two rooms for us to have private access to, we have always received great service and friendly management. Especially considering the larger event had over 100 of the staff members doing a cocktail party set up so no tables and everyone seemed content with their drinks and food orders were quickly taken and received despite the difficulty of remembering and finding the person that placed it. Food is not much to write home about as far as quality, but its a bar & grille not a steakhouse and I was pretty happy with how accommodating they were on all the occasions I have been here.

Meh...it's okay. After hearing so much about it, we tried the place out a few weeks back. The food was decent and the service was excellent. At the end of the day, however, it was just middle-of-the-road fare. Stick with the English pub classics (fish & chips, bangers & mash) and you'll be A-OK!

I only go here on Tuesday nights because the $2 pints special is really, really awesome. If you love Guinness, Newcastle, Leininkugle, or even Bud Light on draft, and for 2 bucks, this is the time and place for you. I once ordered the Turkey Melt, and it was ok. Actually someone snagged it (im sure it was Karma coming back to me) but our waiter noticed and ordered me another and it literally took 4 minutes. It does get pretty packed around prime time and a little loud around the bar, but its worth it.
