Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

As far as basic Chinese restaurants go this one is great. The food is standard Chinese/American. The pot stickes are the best ive had in indy. No joke. For that reason alone I keep going back but everything else ive ordered was good to. My only complaint is that the items they have marked as spicy are not spicy to me. Maybe I should just tell them to crank if up next time.

3.5 stars is probably a little more accurate. I had the Szechuan Chicken and Crab Rangoons. The rangoons were great. The Chicken was also very good, I would have liked it to be spicier but the chicken and vegetables were higher quality than average at a Chinese restaurant. Service was fast (about 10 minutes for my order) and friendly enough. I'll probably order from Food King again, since it's close to my place and they deliver. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the fried rice - bright yellow, no flavor.

This is now my 2nd time trying Food King and so far I've not been impressed. I agree with one other reviewer about the food not being greasy or heavy and that is nice, but hardly flavorful. Needs a lot more spice and heat. Delivery also has been a major disappointment with my food taking upwards of 50 minutes to arrive. Perhaps it's the day and time I order, which has always been on a Sunday eve after 8 p.m., to have leftovers to take to work. I'll give them one more try and see how it goes.

Does Delivery! I was visiting a friend (Im from out of town) and had no means of transportation when I was home alone and hungry. Food King came to the rescue! I ordered the General Tsu lunch special. It was pretty good, they give you HUGE portions. I had leftovers for dinner. I also ordered the Hot and Sour Soup. It was good and extra veggies in there that I don't find at other restaurants. It was still tasty. The delivery was FAST and they take credit card over the phone. I don't think they even charged me for the delivery, but I gave them a good tip for their troubles. I would def order here again if I am in town.

Food is worth the wait!! Delicious - will eat here again next time I am in town. Highly recommend it!

Best crab rangoon in town. Super sweet staff and the food is excellent. I won't get Chinese from anywhere else.

Good King offers awesome portions and at a fair price. I love their Lo Mein and General Tso's Chicken. This is one of those hole on the wall Chinese restaurants I have come to love with a passion.

Although I did not have a chance to try the food...the gentleman who I spoke with was very helpful in helping me find a restaurant that delivered to Carmel.

The packaging looks good now but the food became tasteless. Used to eat here all the time now wet cardboard will do.

Just ordered General Tsos Chicken, vegetable lo mien, and Crab Rangoons for delivery. Arrived very quickly. Typical Chinese food. Yum!

Being from China, few Chinese take out "restaurants" in the US impresses me. Their Americanized Chinese food generally reveals a lack of... Chinese. Food King is different. The food here is consistently fresh and tasty. Although not the most authentic, it is nevertheless enjoyable to this Chinese taste bud. I order take out here about once a week. Having talked to the staff a few times, I get the feeling that the chefs actually enjoy cooking and take pride in creating high quality food. The owner is friendly. Just today, I forgot my wallet when I went in. He didn't even hesitate for one second before handing me the food and saying "just pay together next time." What a terrific guy! They even managed to make one of my disliked dishes enjoyable. That was Pork in Garlic Sauce. I didn't realize the pork was BBQ style (it is written on the menu; I just didn't read carefully), which I'm not a fan of. The way Food King made it, was better than I'm used to, as is everything I've tried here so far. I find Food King an outstanding Chinese take-out joint (they do have tables for dining in, though I haven't spotted much customer utilization).

Food King is one of the best values in Chinese takeout. I usually go and get chicken Schezuan, beef with broccoli or beef lo-mein. Two small pints come to about $9, which includes rice and two fortune cookies (in case you don't like one of your fortunes, I guess). The Schezuan dish is reliably spicy. The grease level is always kept in check. And unlike at many similar places, I'm not waiting for 10 or 15 minutes for my food while several smarter people who called ahead to order happily carry theirs out. This place is fast for all. What's not to love?

I was delighted to find out that 12 years after I lived in Nora and frequented this place, it's still delicious and still the same little hole-in-the-wall Chinese carry out. We got takeout for lunch from there today, and the prices are fair, the food is tasty and I'm still sweating a little from the hot and sour soup--or maybe it was the celebratory karate kicks I did in honor of this delicious meal. Great soups, crab rangoons are A+, good lo mein and kung po chicken. Personally, my favorite low-budget Chinese takeout in Indy. Hiiiiiiiiiiii-yah!

For standard Chinese take-out, Food King is pretty good and offers decent vegetarian options. The food is not greasy, and the sauce is not syrupy as it is at many restaurants. The General Tso's bean curd is excellent as is the bean curd Szechuan style.

This is my favourite Chinese restaurant in the Indianapolis area; I've been eating here since we moved to the area in 2002. I miss Jack, the old manager, but the family who run it now are friendly and know to call my order back as soon as I arrive because I always get the same thing. The food is delicious and consistent--only once or twice has it been off (one night I got chicken curry with almost no taste at all!). The spice level can vary a bit from night to night, but I never specify how spicy I want it, so I don't mind. Keeps things interesting! They've been changing things a bit recently; they no longer have their lunch buffet, they've replaced some of the tables with booths, and a few new items have been introduced to the menu, but it's still the same good food and wonderful smell of wok hay preceding your dinner to the table.

It's disappointing to read that there wasn't a single vegetarian item on the lunch menu, especially in a Chinese restaurant. I was not thrilled about the service either. The cashier was not very friendly when she took my order. When my lunch was ready, she yelled across the room saying the food was ready for pickup. I wanted to dine in but she packed it as a takeout. If you are a meat eater and want to have their buffet. Don't go after 1pm. It looked pathetic. Sorry, this place is not for me.

The food here is passable, but the service is awful. The last time I was in the cashier wouldn't allow my sister and I to dine in. She told us we couldn't because they closed in an hour. She was rude and condescending toward us and I haven't been back since. Food King gets bonus points for delivering, but I've never had a great experience here with dine-in or carry-out. I don't recommend visiting this restaurant.

Awesome take out Chinese. Always very friendly, and the food is well made. The General Tsos chicken is some of the better I've had around town. Crispy and just sweet enough without tasting like bad candy. My gf loves their egg drop soup as well. Highly recommended if you live in the area!

Excellent food. Fast delivery or pick up. We eat there at least twice month. General's Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, Egg Rolls, and Crab Rangons are great.
