First Watch Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I work within walking distance of First Watch, and I'm not mad about that at all. I typically get the Breakfast Scramble or the Eggs Benedict (both a strong decision). Sometimes you want breakfast for lunch, and this is a good getaway. The service varies based on the day, but the food is consistently good. Also, try out their fresh-made juices. Worth it.

I hit this joint up with Dorothy back in March. I've been a terrible Yelper this year but I'm trying to catch up! I had the BLT and coffee. Our service was great and I enjoyed my sandwich. I was hoping to get the avocado spread on wheat toast that Dorothy had been bragging to me about BUUUT they had taken it off the specials list. Sad times!! It looked amazing. Bring it back! Anyway -- I do think this is a cute little spot for brunch. I prefer Ruth's which is JUST down the way (like they are neighbors - same parking lot) for it's more local feel. This felt more like a Waffle House to me but cleaner.

I've been to First Watch locations before and was disappointed in this location. It's not too big. Perhaps I forgot, but the menu was smaller than I remembered. Not a lot of options but I settled on the tri fecta which included waffle, 2 eggs and bacon. The waffle was good. I ordered my eggs over easy and they can over medium which was annoying. My husband convince me not to mention it. The bacon was okay but nothing to get excited about. My husband got the Acapolca omelet and loved it! He was very happy with his choice! You have to pay yourself at the cash register when you leave. That's fine except there was only 1 staff member at the register trying to get customers bills paid and get incoming customers checked in. This made for a long line in a small area and wasn't a good way to end the experience. If I was in Indy again I would not return. There has to be better places to get breakfast!

Great atmosphere, great service, within walking distance from our hotel in the rain. It was worth the trip. Thanks to Andrew our server.

Love this place for breakfast in downtown Indy. They always have great breakfast options and good coffee and the staff is always super friendly.

Walked here from my hotel and I was pleased. It was busy but I got sat immediately and the hostess was extremely friendly. I got the Floridian French toast because of the pictures and reviews on here. I was really excited and yes it was yummy and the fruit was amazing BUT the French toast was cold =*[ I didn't feel like complaining or sending it back because I hate doing that so I just tried to eat it real fast. Bummer.

Don't believe me first watch! Don't believe me first watch!!? Yeaaaaa ummm...Feel free to interchange the lyrics to 'Uptown Funk', try it right now ....in your head...seeee!!? Yes, I'm up and atom at 7am Saturday )morning cuz my protons need neutrons and I'm missing electrolytes from pregaming like it's my 99th birthday. So mama need some of this and little that. As in...Hot ham and crisp pork that we call good old Indiana bacon. If you ever see me at First Watch come over and have a sit down because I'm gonna be there for a while. The last time I went we had an omelet and their avocado and egg sandwich and some other things. However, they have LOTS for you to try who cares if they are a chain. The service was low key, polite, and very friendly. Everyone looked happy to be there. Lord knows we've all walked into a diner where half the staff looks like they need to stroll down a caffeine and red bull runway before they take off into Outer "please-give-me-lots-of" Space. Well...First watch, you are the opposite!! You look awake refreshed, ready for work, and are serving up goodness. In fact, I love everything except the parking and some of the prices! It would be even more spectacular if they offered lowered prices on their special menu- I think we paid $67 for two last time. Go here and enjoy yourself, you deserve good bacon!! Find me at the front table to the right- I'm going to petition to build a small tent there - don't believe me, just........??!!!?!

I love all kinds of food, probably more than I should, but breakfast is by far my favorite meal of the day. When I was recently in Indianapolis, my family and I were looking for a quick, delicious and cheap breakfast spot near downtown. I hopped on Yelp and (selfishly) typed "Eggs Benedict" into the search bar to find the best Indianapolis had to offer. First Watch was one of the first results and we barely finished looking at the online menu before we were out the door. Upon arriving, the first thing that struck me about the restaurant was how much it reminded me of Eat 'n Park -- a popular diner-style restaurant back home in Pittsburgh. Everything from the decor to the cheerful employees was strikingly similar. Surprisingly, the restaurant wasn't too busy even though it was prime breakfast time during a popular race weekend. I had eyed up the Turkey and Avocado Eggs Benedict on the online menu, but to my dismay it was not currently available in the restaurant. Instead, I opted for the Ham and Tomato Eggs Benedict, which comes with an order of breakfast potatoes. Our waitress offered us a variety of juices, coffee and tea, of which I selected the latter. I noticed that she never brought us waters, even though there were glasses for it on the table and other guests had a carafe on their table. This is where 1/2 of a star was lost. I was pleased that she offered tea, and provided a wide variety of green teas upon request, but the absence of water was disappointing. She only came to check on us one time and by that point we had already finished our meals and were ready for the check. About the dish itself, it was good though not the best Eggs Benny I've ever had. I loved the combination of the ham and tomato, but the egg was a tad under-poached and rather runny, almost inedible on my plate. I managed to pick around it and eat mostly the ham, tomato and English muffin before throwing in the cloth napkin. The under-poached egg is where the other half star was lost. It was obvious that the egg could've been cooked even a few more seconds, and I was honestly surprised that they served it as-is. Overall it was a good meal, the prices were great, and I would definitely visit again. To my surprise, there are two First Watch locations near me in Pittsburgh, so I'll definitely give one of those a shot to see if they A) have the elusive Turkey and Avocado Eggs Benedict and B) if I can have a more EGG-CELLENT poached egg experience. I'll see myself out.

My wife and I went here as part of an overnight stay downtown for our anniversary, which also coincided with Father's Day for a Sunday morning brunch. We were staying at the Hyatt Regency so it was just a quick walk from there. We arrived around 10 AM and there was no wait for our little party of two. We got to sit outside, which was great because it was breezy and not too hot. I'm not a coffee drinker, but my wife loved that they bring you out your very own carafe for coffee and you don't have to ask for refills. They do the same with water as well, which was great for me. I also wanted a chocolate milk, but I kept forgetting to ask the server. This is where the lack of a 5th star comes in. We only saw our server a few times throughout the whole meal. When I did finally ask for the chocolate milk, I was halfway down with my food (my fault, not the server), but by the time she brought it out I had finished my food. She did make up for it by not charging for it, and she even brought me the large size (I ordered small) in a to-go cup since we were done eating. The chocolate milk itself was a disappointment, though. It just tasted like milk with chocolate syrup mixed in. For our meal, my wife and I got the exact same thing: The Trifecta breakfast. We both did scrambled eggs, the Belgian waffle, and bacon. I also got a side of the seasoned potatoes. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the waffle since it wasn't the whole entree. And it was so good! It was so soft and fluffy. The whipped butter spread easily over it, and the syrup they bring you is hot (a must for me). I did try one bite with the berry compote, but I prefer syrup. The bacon was cooked perfectly--crispy but not overdone. The seasoned potatoes were good too, although I like crispy fried potatoes at breakfast better. Overall we really enjoyed our breakfast here. It's in a great location and the food was really good. We look forward to another visit where we can try something different.

The food comes out quickly! I had the pumpkin pancakes, which was really good, just something was slightly off. Still worth the money. Th sausage that came with was also good. The coffee was on point. The waitress was prompt and friendly

This is a fab breakfast/brunch/lunch place. I like the tri-fecta. They also have delicious and bottomless coffee. Always a favorite when I'm meeting friends for brunch.

It's OK. The name is a little odd. When I walked by it the first time, the name confused me. Patachou was packed one morning, so I gave in. It's like a more progressive version of Denny's, meaning there are some healthy options, but nothing overtly original.

If I gave restaurants nicknames, First Watch is a place I would give the nickname "Old Reliable." In my opinion, you can always count on the food being good here. Good, not great, but good is a-ok to me. Something I like about coming here (others may not express the same senitment) is that you never feel STUFFED upon leaving. This is a plus for me when I have to go back to work for the afternoon after grabbing lunch here. Slipping into a food coma at my desk, although I've never tried it, probably isn't encouraged. The interior reminds me of a breakfast place you'd encounter in Florida. Bright colors, cheery staff, nice menu options. Definitely has a bit of a Southern flare without losing a Midwestern identity. I've tried almost every omelet on the menu - and I can recommend all of them. I think the Bacado might be a favorite - bacon, avocado, cheese... and salsa? I thought the salsa might be weird the first time but it works with the combination of flavors in the dish. Another plus: I drink a TON of water at restaurants, and here at First Watch they leave a pitcher of it on every table. I'm happy to fill my own glass multiple times throughout the meal instead of having to flag down the server every time I need more to drink. They also do this with the coffee... which I think is a plus. Their coffee is GOOD too. Overall, I would recommend stopping in here if you're downtown and are looking for a decently good breakfast/brunch spot.

Really liked this place. It was a bit busy as it was a Sunday morning when we visited so I feel like our waitress was a bit overwhelmed however, the food was so good. I love the fresh and healthy options. I had avocado smashed w/olive oil and salt over toast and their fresh juice. Awesome.

  • Alexis M.

Terrible service! Our food didn't come out for 45 minutes. When it finally did, the food came out in a to go box. The food wasn't good and other customers around our table were complaining too. One customer complained of having soap in her juice. Will not come back!! Too many other good places to eat downtown that don't have terrible service and bad food!

  • Tiffany B.

Service: s-l-o-w. Eggs Benedict hollandaise: out of a plastic packet or tub Breakfast menu overall: edible, but meh. Best thing about it is a handy downtown location. And at least they have some booths.

If you're after a unique experience, best look elsewhere. If, however, all that you require is a pleasant, clean place to sit and have a reasonably priced meal you should be fine. The drip coffee was surprisingly good. Menu selection is reasonable. This is essentially a fairly well-done (if generic, inoffensive) chain restaurant with just the smallest bit of flair when it comes to decor and menu. Keep expectations in check and if you're looking for exotic (and expensive) I recommend milktooth (it's amazing).

Had the pumpkin pancakes. Quite good. Service was pretty slow but it was a busy time. Everyone was very friendly. Great location and enjoyed the patio.

Went in for a late breakfast. Jesica was waitress. Very pleasant & attentive. Took order quickly and food was out in less than 5 minutes. Ordered ham cheese omelette. Was cooked to perfection with multigrain toast, a large carafe of coffee and diced potatoes. I found the coffee exceptional and I believe they sell a custom blend. Store decor was blaw and not very inspiring but did feel clean & sanitary. Good for families. Recommend. I just can't go 4 stars for an omelette, though. Also has a large menu - maybe too large.

SO happy that I came across this restaurant. The food is super fresh and there's a healthy options section for those of us who are watching our figures. I was looking for a local place to grab coffee and jump on the internet since I had some time to kill. The servers leave a pot of coffee on the table for you which was AMAZING. I always feel bad asking for constant refills so having an unlimited supply on the table was clutch. I totally recommend this place and hopefully you'll get Andrew as your server. He's also from upstate NY so it was nice to chat with him.

While visiting just outside of Indianapolis, I wanted to venture to downtown Indy for some breakfast. I went to trusty old Yelp to see what's been generally rated good and First Watch came up on the list. I liked the pictures of some of the menu items that were shown so I was easily convinced. I drove to Indy and parked at a nearby parking garage which gave me a scary experience as I was leaving which is neither here or there for this First Watch review. I may have to review that garage to see if others had a similar experience....but anyways back to FW. As I approached First Watch, I immediately knew I would potentially be in for a long wait since there was quite a crowd waiting to be seated. I was my usual 'Party of One' so I was hoping that would be an advantage in the wait game like it is most places. Alas though there wasn't a "bar" area in the restaurant for solo diners so I was out of luck there. The friendly host who doubled as cashier and occasional table cleaner told me it would be a 15 - 20 minute wait. I had a feeling that was just the standard answer given regardless of actual time. But I was hungry and curious about the food so I waited. During my entire 25 minute (so five minutes over...*LOL*) wait, I noted there was a table right to the other side of me with dishes from the last patrons that haven't been cleared. It seemed like they had enough staff but maybe some of them were hiding out in the kitchen or was on a prolonged smoke break. Who knows? Oddly enough the host sat me at what he termed a "community table" (assume that was a joke...good one) It basically was a table for 8 and he told me understandably that I may have neighbors sitting at the table as well. That was fine with me as I was hungry and I couldn't imagine sitting by myself in such a big table. I did note patrons staring at me as I was sitting by my lonesome. Way to make my solo status stand out, First Watch...*LOL*. My server was quite busy serving other customers (maybe they are short staffed) but within five minutes he did cheerfully come by to ask if I wanted some of their coffee. Not being a coffee drinker I opted for hot chocolate. The server asked if I wanted all the trimmings, which included whip cream and chocolate syrup. I went for it. Another five minutes came before I got the hot chocolate, which was fine. At that point I decided to order their Shrimp & Grits dish, after going back and forth on a couple other offerings that caught my eye. He did a bit of an upsell by asking if I wanted some fresh squeezed orange juice with my Shrimp & Grits. Something told me I should go for it so I went along with it. That wound up being a good choice since the juice sat by its lonesome for more than 20 minutes before my food came up. In that time my community table added a family of four. Thankfully that was as far as the community went. Also by that time the host had finally found time to go to the kitchen to fetch someone to clear off the dishes from the aforementioned table I referenced earlier. He definitely had his hands full dealing with the morning crowd so my hats off to him. The main dish came up and drew the attention of a couple of my community members. The Shrimp & Grits looked fine though nothing like the picture on the website. What it lacked in looks more than made up for it in taste. Dare I say it was one of the best grits I've tasted in a breakfast establishment. It was extremely flavorful with each bite, unlike the bland grits I usually get served the few times I order it at other establishments. It almost had a New Orleans flair to it since in addition to shrimp, it had andouille sausage, red peppers, corn, and onions with cheddar parmesan. My long forgotten juice wound up being a good compliment to the Shrimp & Grits. Overall I enjoyed my breakfast and it gave me enough fuel to trek it through downtown Indy.

This was a great find! We've been looking for a new breakfast spot, and this is definitely a new favorite! Reasonably priced and delicious food, great presentation! The service was adequate. Free wifi is definitely a plus! And I love the individual pots of coffee left at the table! We will be back and we will bring our friends!

Service is always spot on even during busy periods. Food has always been very good. Fresh ingredients, good portions and I have tried most everything on the menu. My favorites: chickichanga, pecan Dijon, power wrap, not guilty your honor & the Ruben. Can't go wron w/the bacado or chicken salad.

  • Immaculate I.

I'm a brunch lover. I wanted to drink coffee, eat eggs, and have something sandwich-like. I had a chickichanga. Delicious!! My friend had the turkey burger which was also amazing. It was quiet on a Thursday afternoon and our server who recommended our meals was very attentive.

First time trying First Watch on my lunch break (Downtown First Watch). Our food was great but the service not so well. Our waitress moved at her own pace and was in her own little world. We were done eating for 20 minutes before she came with a check. We'll be back, just maybe not in a time crunch.

The server brought me the wrong dish -- twice. My husband's French toast was dreadful. The service was poor.

This place has solid breakfast food and very friendly service. While staying in downtown Indy on our last trip I walked down to First Watch Cafe and enjoyed The Traditional breakfast, which consisted of 2 eggs, breakfast potatoes, toast, sausage, bacon, or grilled ham steak. Price was very reasonable too. I ordered my eggs scrambled hard, sausage and multi-grain toast. It came out in minutes cooked fresh and hot. The multi-grain toast was really good...I dont know what they did to it, or what brand it was, but it was super tasty! I enjoyed my breakfast and hot chocolate and then walked back to the hotel with a full belly and a happy woman. Ill definitely go back when we're in town.

I love this place. It's our go to breakfast before colts games. They have really filling and healthy choices. I got the multi-grain pancake this time. Yes, one pancake. The menu warns that they're huge and that you can order one, two, or three. I had one with a side of bacon and it was just right! I also adore that they leave a coffee carafe on the table. Great, quick, real breakfast.

  • Lauren L.

Super clean and wide variety of choices! Refreshing. That's my one word to wrap this place up with, refreshing! Clean eating and they leave the coffee and water at your table, fabulous idea. So many choices on the menu but I went with the Tri-fecta... Waffle, two eggs, and bacon. Boom. The best part about the experience, I didn't feel uncomfortably full when I left, even though I ate my whole plate, so two thumbs up for that! Luckily there is another location closer to where I live so I will be frequenting there often.

I dined here two days in a row. The location is right near Monument Circle in downtown, within easy walking distance of many hotels. The decor is sparse to the point of being a non-presence. There are large brightly colored still life's of veg and fruit on the wall, but they actually don't have all that much impact in this space. Conventional booth and table seating is present. The staff here is Midwest cheerful. They recognized me on day two. (It's possible I was dressed pretty much the same :)!). The effort here is put towards the food, and it shows. The high quality ingredients shine in some creative fare. I tried the Harvest Hash off the seasonal menu. This had sweet potatoes, Cremini mushrooms, pickled onions, zucchini, and I chose it to be topped with poached eggs. The next day I had a wonderful omelet (photograph). Both days I chose the dressed field greens as a side. These were fresh, clean, and varied, dressed with a slightly sweet light vinegar-based dressing. The coffee was good. The very top of the regular menu has more conventional fare (eggs and sides). I think some folks might not see that. Because they make everything in house, that leads to some lack of diversity in the menu (those Cremini mushrooms are in a lot of dishes--thank goodness they are good!). I overheard other diners customizing dishes, so leaving out the shrooms is no problem when the kitchen is making everything. I really appreciate the effort made to use local food. I'll be back next time I'm in Indy to try one of their quinoa bowls--looked very interesting!

First attempt at brunch in downtown Indy. Charming, simple lay out and the menu looks great. I got the chickinchanga. Flacked were great except the avocado was hard as can be... They might as well not put it in when it's that unripe. I love avocado and made sure to order something with it, so that was disappointing. It was supposed to come with fresh fruit, came with 5 pieces that were so so. I'm not giving it a great rating, but the menu will draw me back (especially the healthy options) and I do expect it to improve!

Breakfast was healthy and delicious and our server (Lisa) was outstanding!! She was friendly, knowledgeable and quick! She was even a mind reader when it came to bring me a drink for the road. We will be back and if Lisa is there I will sit in her section again!

  • Ian K.

The first watch more like first awful I went there with my family and almost all the food was not to par. I ordered there French toast that was like eating raw batter. And the potatoes were uncooked. Don't even get me started with the service, I thought it might be good because it's downtown Indianapolis but they couldn't handle a full house the waiter kept forgetting us and the people around us. I will have to say the bacon was good and cooked well but other than that I wouldn't recommend it.

  • Carolyne H.

Charming - contemporary ma and pop kind of feel. Busy place, especially during the lunchtime hour. Menu is healthy, fresh and vegetarian friendly. Turkey sandwich is tasty but not very substantial. Same with the soup - good but I definitely left feeling hungry. It's a great spot if you want to pop in for something light - def. go somewhere else if you are looking to fill up. I did have a bit of the pecan Dijon salad and it was delicious. The bacon is scrumptious! Also, they serve some of the best iced tea around.

Wasn't that busy on a Wed morning. Took a while for the food to come out, and low and behold, it was warm at best when it got to the table. Food was okay at best. The First Watch I go to in Reynoldsburg, OH is always good, so I figured the others would be the same. Not the case. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly, so wave to them as you walk by and eat somewhere else.

This place is so mass-produced. It DEFINETLY has a "chain" feel to it and the food is just not good. The waitress was rude also. It's not that hard to be kind to people you know.

  • Alex W.

Tasty tasty! I'm not a brunch/breakfast person but I came here for a friend since she is. For being Sunday brunch time and the day of the Midwest Regional final for March Madness, we were seated quickly [within 10-15min]. I was surprised this was a chain since I try to avoid them. Coffee was awesome and a good way to start my late morning. Despite the sheer amount of traffic our server was sweet, nice & quick. Try one of the local new things! I had the lemon ricotta pancakes and a side of fruit - definitely filling and the lemon curd on my pancakes was awesome despite my avoidance of lemon-flavoured things. Cannot wait to go back!

This place reminds me of my beloved breakfast spot at home! Home made and super fresh food at a good price! I had the English muffin which was to die for! An omelette which was good but it could have used more cheese. The potatoes were tasty but very spicy so my hubby had to finish those! I ordered a pancake on the side and it was pretty tasty too! The place is clean, staff was friendly and very inviting! Nice place for breakfast!!

I saw a five star rating for this quaint place and I agree wholeheartedly! They serve you with a carafe of coffee and a milk bottle full of chilled water while you decide from the vast array of breakfast choices. I highly recommend it and will return!

We loved going to First Watch in Kansas City. This place is very pedestrian... It's somewhat offensive that there is such a huge difference between the commercial photos on here and what you actually get. Food was ok and made by someone who seemed like they just wanted to get it over with. In a great city like this you can do much much better than this first watch.

    (2)
  • Cory S.

Food was very good...service a bit lackluster. I had the bacon and onion hash. Potatoes were good, bacon good, flavor hit the spot. Our server seemed a bit stretched thin, and in turn our service lacked. If we are downtown for breakfast, we will swing back by.

Decided that it was finally time to try First Watch. Being a typical breakfast/brunch joint they close at 2:30pm so typically I miss it as I really enjoy a small thing called sleep on my days off. Today, finally, the day has come. When walking in, the decor is nothing but ordinary. Nothing screams "we're cool". But you eat at a place for the food, right? We were seated promptly as we arrived at 1:30pm and they weren't busy at all. After a 5 minute wait, which allowed us to cruise the pretty basic menu (no drink yet) our server returned to take our order. I went with the pretty boring Tri-Fecta with bacon and & waffle. Our server seems anything but super friendly, but isn't rude either. He's just ok. Price wise its pretty decent. Most dishes range between $7-9. When our food came out (which was pretty quick...about 10 min) I noticed that you got $7 worth of food. The eggs were good and covered in cheese. The waffle was light and fluffy. What made me the most sad is only two strips of bacon. And the bacon was good too. When the bill came, it saddened me that the cheese that I added cost $1.39, $0.49 seems more reasonable...bit whatever, I'd still add it. All in all it would be better with better service but the food isn't bad so that makes up a little for the service.

As soon as my friend and I entered, we were greeted by the very friendly staff. We were quickly given our water and coffee, which was wonderful black. The waiter was nice enough to come back a few times as my friend and I were chatty and got distracted from looking at the menu. I got the Key West Crepeggs and it was an interesting and delicious combination. I like the crunchiness of the crèpe with the fluffiness of the egg and the creamy texture from the avocado. Winning combination. The food was good, but I would go back simply for the staff. They were welcoming on a cold day and left me with a smile on my face.

I was not impressed with the service nor the food. My colleagues and I went there for lunch. The FIVE of us were seated at a booth more suited for four-- purses, winter coats and all. Just a few feet away, a table set for six sat empty. Why? The food was very average. I can make a better omelette and hashbrowns at home. And apparently their definition of a "toasted" english muffin means slightly warmed with a clump of cold butter on it. I won't go to this restaurant.

  • Lance L.

We were in town for the DCI finals. The breakfast here is very good. Try the waffles. We enjoyed it so much we ate breakfast here two of our three days. When they get super busy, the kitchen gets slow. Be prepared for this. Coffee is very good.

I always want to support small local business when I'm on the road. So I found this place on Yelp when I was looking for breakfast which is my fav meal of the day. The service was friendly and fast and met my expectations. The coffee was surprisingly good and I would come back here just for the JOE. So I like the place, but I would say the food is average and would not be a reason to return-especially for the price/portion. So this place has only to improve the food presentation to move to a 5 star.

This is a placeholder review as I went for lunch and I know this is known for being a breakfast joint. I usually avoid chain restaurants like the plague, but this is their first location in Indiana and I had never tried it in my travels. Service was a little scatterbrained but that could be because it was so hectic at lunchtime. The food itself was just OK. Kind of greasy spoon in my opinion. My soup was pretty bland and the sandwich was quite oily. The biggest problem I had was trying to leave. I got my check right away, but you pay at the counter near the entrance. There was a huge crowd of people waiting to be seated which exacerbated the problem of the huge crowd trying to pay at the lone register.

Conveniently located near the heart of downtown, especially convenient for convention goers, this small chain breakfast place has plenty of seating and we had fast and polite service. It was a rainy day when i was there, but the floor seemed really dirty and beat up and gave this recently opened place a dingy old feel. The menu is pretty expansive, with several healthy options and many "unique to First Watch" dishes. Prices are decent for the amount of food. I had the Veggie Hash-- cubed potatoes and chopped veggies with goat cheese served in a mini skillet and covered with your choice of 2 eggs. It came with a side of buttered English muffins and a fruit bowl. Everything tasted fine, not very exotic, but done well. I took home half. Healthy option parfait bowl is huge. Coffee carafe at the table for easy refills. We'll probably visit again if our go-to downtown breakfast spots are super busy.

This morning I revisited the Traditional Breakfast with scrambled eggs and crisp bacon. You can let staff know if there certain types of fruit that you prefer in your fruit cup...what chain does that??? The food is fresh and well prepared. The service attentive but not overly so. If you are staying in Downtown Indy, this should be your go to breakfast place...you can spend more money elsewhere but why?? Nearly every Saturday I have breakfast here going back to their opening...

One star because 0 stars was not an option. The service was extremely confusing. 17 seconds after being seated we were asked if we would like to put in our order. Umm, can I look at the menu first please? Then, after a quick trip to retrieve the drinks, we were asked again, and we had to request a few more minutes because at this point we had only been there for maybe 4 minutes. 15 minutes after that, we finally were approached again. After waiting close to 40 minutes for our food, the bacon was burnt, the eggs were just ok and the English muffin had more butter on it than it would take to butter 3 of them.

The four star rating this place currently has is deceiving. Waited 50 minutes for our eggs, bacon and toast to arrive. Bacon was inedible. Rest was cold. Only reason for the one star is the decent coffee.

Very impressed with this place. Was in Indy for a work conference and looked in yelp for a good breakfast place - this place did not disappoint. Had the chickichanga and absolutely loved it. The breakfast scramble and banana granola pancakes were also delish. Coffee good too, clean place, friendly and quick service. Highly recommended!!

To sum it up.... Chaos! Under staffed, long wait time for everything, and poor customer service. I've worked in the restaurant industry and usually am more patient but this was beyond my temperament of tolerability. Didn't even taste the food to decide that it would put a poor taste in my mouth.

Breakfast chimichanga is a 10! And so is Ashley and her service. Never a dull moment.

Chicken Palermo sandwich, 4 stars. Strong portion size, moist chicken, soft bread, fresh-tasting ingredients. Hearty vegetable soup, 3.5 stars. Solid chunk-to-broth ratio but I wish it had been a bit warmer when it arrived at my table. (Shame on me for not mentioning it to the server.) Service was very, very friendly and prices were fair. The wide variety in the menu will definitely make me come back and try something else.

We came Sunday morning around 9:45 and it was already filling up with people going to the Colts game. We were seated quickly and orders were taken swiftly. They leave the coffee pot on your table, where there are also several different creamers available. Pancakes were as big as the plate, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. You should def try the cheddar bacon one - the combo really worked! Everything is fresh and "healthier" but still quite tasty and filling.

So good, we went back twice. We headed out for Memorial Day weekend to see the Indy 500 and saw this place had good reviews and it deserves it. Great service, great food. I had some sort of breakfast scrambler on top of toast with hollandaise sauce on top. Delicious!!

based on the food alone (had a coupon and got some lunch to-go) Chicken Palermo (Grilled all-natural white-meat chicken, sliced tomato, onion, pepperoncini and mozzarella with basil pesto mayo on artisan ciabatta) the combination, the thick and juicy chicken, the pepperoncini, with the yum-o basil pesto mayo = great combination of flavors... bread was good, not my favorite. And cup of Vegetable Soup was pretty tasty also!

I have walked past this place so many times and did not realize it was a breakfast place. Good menu selection, tasty food, quick friendly and efficient service.

We live downtown and have an abundance of restaurants from which to choose. First Watch is one of our favorites. Their breakfast menu offers several healthy, fresh options that taste fabulous. A favorite for us is the fruit crepes served with a side of granola and a homemade muffin. They also offer delicious heartier more protein based choices with bacon, sausage, etc. Their service is always friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable for the quality of their food. Restaurant is clean and well maintained. Definitely a great addition to the downtown restaurant scene.

I'd been waiting to try First Watch so I'd sad to say it was a disappointment. There is a lot of variety on the menu and I selected the Turkey Chive crepe. That's eggs, turkey, spinach, house-roasted onions and Monterey Jack in a crepe topped with diced tomatoes, chives and hollandaise. Sounds amazing right? Well it didn't have that POP of flavor I was expecting. Also, they don't have orange marmalade. When I asked for it I was looked at like I was a three-headed vicious dog beast. With Patachou and Hoaglin downtown, I don't see myself frequently First Watch much. That said, I'll be sure to go back for another try.

most chains are consistently mediocre at best this 1 falls well below that norm, taste like soup was frozen than microwaved.........disgusting................rueben was probably the worst I have ever had I have had ruebens in a lot of places.........how hard is it to cook your own corn beef istead of buying that precooked garbage they try and pass off here..........bottom line stay clear of this place........trying to post this but it won't let me with out giving it a star rating.......reluctantly I give it 1 only because it won't let me give zero or minus a few as I would like to do

This is a cute little place nestled in the bustling businesses of downtown Indy. If you're looking for a quite brunch spot this is a good place to come. I didn't think there was anything special about the menu. That may have been why I found it hard to find something unique to try. Since I didn't, I ended up with granola and yogurt. Which was kinda lame since the menu said with fresh fruit. It came with four blackberries. That does not count as fresh fruit or even close to a serving of fresh fruit. Needless to say, I probably won't be back unless someone drags me here.

A few sounds that would be synonymous with my experience: hmmm....ehhhh..mmehhh...gaaahh..bllahhh....geglasdsdfjk. Most of those sounds would be in relation to the service rather than the actual food. Let's approach this review chronologically: 12 noon: lunch date and I arrive at First Watch. Surprised by the interior - if Denny's and a food court's fornication resulted in a baby, it would be First Watch. A baby that looks like all the other babies. You say it's cute because you feel like it's the nice thing to do, when in reality it's just your average bebe. 12:01 p.m.: seated immediately - but in the depths of the restaurant at a 6-person circular table...for two. (I title this complaint: "white girl problems") 12:15: orders were finally taken (I know, I know. 14 minutes doesn't seem like much but in the world of lunch breaks its the difference between life and death.) 12:39: food arrives - presented nice-looking meals - I'd give the food four stars. I had the veggie burger with a cup of the tomato basil soup. I was surprised that the veggie burger didn't come with cheese, so I opted for a slice of Swiss. 12:55ish: Brittany's sloth-like eating habits continue. Decision is made that I will return again and try one of their breakfast options: fun variety of pancake and hash options. You know the saying "bless his/her heart" and how it's sometimes comes off as more of a "damn. that poor thing can't seem to get their shit together" than an actual blessing? Well, bless our waitress' heart - it took three tickets for her to get the order correct and figure out which standard dressings go with which salads - she asked us. The business is still fairly new, so I'm going to go out on a limb and guess she's new to the profession. Nice menu/tasty food, First Watch. Hope you can get the kinks out of the service side of things. As for the DennysFoodCourt Baby that is your interior, well, I have a feeling that won't be changing any time soon.

I thought I stepped onto the set of some post-apocalyptic zombie movie where I'm the only thing left alive while walking around downtown Indianapolis at 9am New Year's Day. Almost nothing was open...including restaurants that normally serve breakfast. As I approached the glass I was pleasantly surprised to see open tables behind the happy employees. Even the hung-over customers seemed cheerful. I loved the pumpkin spice creamer for a coffee dispenser that didn't run out. Great food, great service; great way to start 2014. A roaring fireplace would have garnered the 5th star. Best of all: no zombies!

Food is pretty good, service was super nice and fast. It's your average breakfast fare, similar to Le Peep or other brunch chains.

This was a great breakfast place! I had one of the hash items which was two eggs on hash browns that were cooked with chorizo, mushrooms peppers and onions. Fresh squeezed OJ and great coffee to boot. My wife had an omelette with avocados and other delicious filler. Service was excellent too. A real treat if you're downtown

Great Breakfast. I ordered the AB & J Waffle and it was really good. I will return. My only complaints were, it took I sat down at a table as a group of four with only two cups at the table. We had to ask after 10 minutes for them to bring more cups. The other complaint were three of us ordered a side of potatoes, each person received a different amount of potatoes. Overall those were minor complaints. Loved it.

There's nothing I love more than a cute little restaurant that makes it easy for you to eat healthy-yet-delicious options. The best thing about this place is, not only are there amazing healthy picks on its menu, but when you diverge from the healthy options, you don't really feel guilty because the food options are just so unique that you can't help but feel like you are divulging in a special treat. The breakfast menu is the true focus of this place and offers an array of omelets, crepes, and hashes. Each of these offer a mix of options so that, if you are a bacon and eggs breakfast person, there's something for you, but if you are a veggie-health enthusiast, there is also something for you. As I often range back and forth between the two extremes, this makes me giddy with happiness. The breakfast menu is available all day! The lunch menu is fairly chill and the place sticks to sandwiches, salads and soups; however, they've done a great job of ensuring that the options are not in any way boring. No mushy chicken salad that seems to be flavored only with pickles and mayonnaise here! This place has only been open for a short while but it thus far seems to try to offer seasonal options as well: I was fortunate to try a delicious butternut squash soup and pulled pork sandwich that was offered as a fall seasonal option a few weeks ago. First Watch will definitely be a regular lunch location for me in the future.

The first watch restaurant located in Pikesville Md is a great place to take to visit and take my clients for a nice breakfast or brunch. The restaurant is clean, the staff is courteous and bathrooms are clean. The only restaurant that has the bathroom doors going the right direction. Kiona is one of best servers I've encountered in a restaurant. Her prompt and courteous service makes my dining experience worth a return vsit. Thanks first watch!

After our first visit we had to come back again the next day. The menu is a bit different and everything we tried, four different things ,were all absolutely delicious. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, the restrooms likewise, and the staff was extremely friendly and the servers were terrific!

Breakfast on a Saturday. Food would have been about average...for an airport. Server seemed like she was medicated. Atmosphere of a Denny's. Absolutely nothing good about this place.

My wife and I go to Indianapolis fairly often, and when we do, we usually have at least one breakfast/brunch at First Watch since we don't have them in Chicago. I love this location since it is walking distance from the convention center. A bunch of my friends and I went to Gen Con last year and I made sure we fueled up for long days of gaming with breakfast at First Watch.

My girlfriend and I had been looking for a new breakfast spot just to "spice things up" and discovered this refreshing new location. The environment is along the lines of faux retro meets modern day dining and everything is very simple, clean, and welcoming. The menu options were fantastic and offer a variety of same-old-song-and-dance options, but usually with their own First Watch twist. Take, for instance, the bacon cheddar pancakes that were large enough to feed a family of five. I had gone to First Watch looking for a combination of sweet and salty thinking I'd get pancakes with a side of sausage and/or bacon and was delighted to find that I could have BOTH in the same packaged combo! As for the rest of the menu items, they offer a nice blend of healthy options which were very prominent and welcomed and also allow you to be a bad little boy or girl if you are feeling naughty. I definitely want to be very clear here: THERE ARE NO BISCUITS & GRAVY. If you want biscuits and gravy, this isn't your place. Overall, this is one of the best breakfast options in the downtown area especially if you're looking for something a little different than most other artery-clogging restaurants have to offer. I want to clarify that I'm only giving this 4 out of 5 stars for the simple fact that they don't offer biscuits and gravy which I think every breakfast place should offer no matter what, but who am I to really judge? I'll follow my own advice and go elsewhere if I want to kill myself with fried animal fat, but I'll definitely be coming back to First Watch in the very near future.

My first experience with FirstWatch was in Tulsa, OK. It was rated really well and this one in Indianapolis was rated well as well. This place was just as pleasant. Food tasted fresh and the service was excellent. Highly recommend for a casual breakfast/brunch.

Food was ok, overpriced for breakfast food. Coffee is ridiculous @ $2.99! Service was good and fast, but they need to add more options for breakfast and lower their prices. Patachou prices for greasy dinner food.

We came to this place on a Sunday morning when the Colts were in town so understandably, they were busy. However, our party of 7 was kept waiting for 20 minutes while a large table sat open. We weren't sat there until we asked about the table. The service was a little slow and our food took a while to come out, even though it was just basic breakfast. I ordered the avocado, tomato and bacon hash and thought it was pretty good. The fresh fruit was good as well. I wish I could give it a higher rating but the slow service and the fact that my dining partners weren't thrilled with their breakfasts stopped me at 3 stars.

It was pretty busy at lunch time, but my friend and I only had to wait about 10 minutes. It seems like they could fit a lot more tables in the space but maybe want to keep it more airy. Service was fast and all the employees we interacted with were very nice, but my Parma Hash was overcooked and chewy. I'd try FirstWatch again though - lots of items on the menu looked great!

Amazing customer service and nice decor only made better by quality food in a timely manner. The perfect brunch place! I had the Bacado Omlette and 2 chocolate chip pancakes (very well made), and they even warned me that the pancakes are very large, so I may not be able to finish. My drink was always refilled before I finished and the only thing that could be unsettling is that I had 3-4 different people ask me if I needed anything, so I didn't know who my waiter/ress was. Great place to eat and highly recommended.

We came here on a Saturday morning with no expectations, 4 days after it opened. The food was delicious and the casual brunch atmosphere was perfect! Service was OK, but I am sure that it will get better with time. A pitcher of water and a carafe of coffee at the table within two minutes. Free wifi as well... We will be back!
