I tried Ezra's for lunch one day and for just over $20 (after tip) I got a cup of coffee and a Buddha bowl. The falafel on the salad was good, but there were too few of them for my taste. The rest of the salad didn't make a lot of sense to me - too much kale and the remaining ingredients tended toward the sweet side, which did not mix well with the sauerkraut. The coffee, unfortunately, was lukewarm and I didn't wind up finishing it. I've heard the desserts are very good, but since the rest of my meal was so expensive, I couldn't really swing it this time. The worst part was I was hungry again an hour later!

Great inventive food. The pizza was fantastic as was the desserts. Indianapolis is kind of a waste land regarding vegetarianism and Ezra's is a sight for sore eyes!

I didn't have much of an appetite when I was there, so all I had was the chocolate hazelnut cake, which was absolutely fantastic - otherwise I think I would offer a full five stars, but I'm sure an additional visit someday will earn it that fifth star. The staff is friendly and energetic, and their energy helps add to the already warm, intimate, and friendly atmosphere. With the mainly-raw and gluten-free menu, prepare to pay a few extra bucks, but from my experience, it's well worth it.

Delicious!!! Very different atmosphere and food than any other cafe' in the area. Not only was I satisfied on how the food tasted, but it was also extremely filling, a good filling. The desserts were also fantastic! I want to go back and try the granola and a smoothie and will definitely be doing so. Along with great food, there is great service. Everyone was very happy and helpful, they were willing to answer any questions or explain anything on the menu!

Finally tried this cute place for lunch, delicious!!! Now going to try them for Sunday breakfast!!!

Love the Buddha Bowl! Not a vegetarian & was worried it wouldn't fill me up but I was stuffed! It's so delicious and no guilt! Love this! Think they're a little pricey-- esp with desserts. But when I'm willing to spend a little more, love going here for lunch.

I know, when you think vegan and raw... delicious is not the first thing that comes to mind. Ezra's blows that idea away! The food was amazing. The staff was friendly and welcoming. My only complaint? I was too full after lunch to get a piece of cheesecake! I'll definitely be back.

  • Abhi J.

Great food. They have limited seating so come early or get it to go. The food is a little expensive, but the uniqueness makes it with it.

Unbelievable fresh creative delicious vegan food! Can I say Indy needed this place! Thank you for being a leader in the healthy food community! I'm devoted!

I have been here twice now and I am completely hooked. Most things here are raw, eveything is dairy free and gluten free. The pizza is amazing; I have had two different varieties, the marinara and the margarita. Both kinds are fantastic. I am also in love with the Bhudda bowl, which is a raw salad with raw falafel and tahini dressing. So good, and oh so satisfying. The staff is extraordinarily friendly, and they all work together as a team to make sure that everything is fresh and tastes and looks amazing. The flavors in their dishes, drinks and desserts all complement each other PERFECTLY. I have tried their lemon squares which are great, their brownies which are addicting, their hazlenut chocolate cake which is rich and yummy and their chocolate chip cookies, which taste like the real thing and definitely scratch the itch. If you have food allergies or enjoy raw gourmet, this cafe puts an amazing spin on their dishes which will keep you salivating and coming back for more! Great atmosphere, optimum indredients. This place is worth visiting!

Glad that Ezra's is here, but was confused today that when I asked about ingredients ( needed to make sure the "lunch special" was Paleo), the lady to whom I gave my order was unsure and stated, "We are not a Paleo restaurant." Understood, but all I needed were the ingredients to know if it was safe for me to eat. A little challenging. In the end, I found the people nice, the small space quaint, but the special was very salty and overpoweringly garlicky. I may try it again one day.

Got a Veggie Un-fry which had sort of a tangy asian sauce to it. This is my first vegan experience here, though I've always been skeptical about the taste since I've always only been exposed to southeast asian vegetarian food. It was a nice and light surprise. Definitely not leaving you feel bloated but cleansed instead. Would recommend if you're going for light lunch :)

this was my first time here...i saw a post on Evolver fb pagr..and it looked great so i came in to check it out! the smell is divine...and they were busy at cooking..prepping organic veggies and cleaning and greeting everyone who came in..you definately recieve a warm welcome..and not only from the staff..their guests also said hello and gave smiles...that says to me that this place is where it's at!....i had planned on getting the BudaBowl to go..and also look at the grab and go offerings they had listed on their FaceBook page..but i had to get today's special...and an apricot cookie.....and granola..lol... everything is so flavorful and fresh...i am trying to eat healthier and make better choices..after today's visit...i know it won't be difficult for me to eat better...they took time to expalin who they were..what they offer...and also the best way to incorporate their offerings into my current diet..kudos!...i am a bigger girl..i was the heftiest among everyone..but they didnt look at me funny or critisize what i currently eat...they were nice and gracious.. the food is delicious!...i olan on going often and the grab & go items make it easy to get something quick for lunch...i really like it there!

I have a pretty green palate and I'm not afraid of big flavors, so raw foods are always a draw for me. I love the crisp textures and bold mineral tastes. I love how every bite is complex and not just a homogenized lump of food. This place was really very good, in both the savory and dessert dishes. If I had to complain about anything, it would be their hours. I prefer going out to dinner rather than any other meal, but I can understand why they don't want the dinner rush. It's artisan food. It's very labor intensive.

Awesome cafe for breakfast. I stopped in for a quick breakfast bite and had a delicious chia bowl and some chocolate chili granola. Amazing! They have super cute outdoor seating too.

One of my favorite places for an always delicious, healing meal. The classes are intimate and fun. I look for any excuse to swing by when anywhere near the area. I LOVE having a place that I can order absolutely anything at, without pouring over the menu's ingredient list.

I'm a new vegan, so I was excited to check this place out. Before I went, I called to ask what my omnivorous brother might enjoy. The lady on the phone was very helpful and suggested the Buddha Bowl and the Nacho Mama Bean Bowl. So my mom, 18-year-old brother and I drove to the cafe, scored parking in one of the four spots they have on the side of the house (there's street parking too), and walked through the attached shop (The Playful Soul) before finding the entrance to Ezra's Enlightened Cafe. The ambiance is welcome, modern, relaxed and hip. My mom ordered the Buddha Bowl, and my brother and I both got the Pizza Marinara with salad. We all enjoyed our food and the friendly staff. We sat at the bar, which my brother particularly liked, and we got dessert: Chocolate Hazelnut Cake, a Chocolate Brownie, and Chocolate Mousse. Fabulous for a newly-vegan chocoholic! I think everything is vegan, raw, gluten-free, and processed-sugar-free. My mom said as we left, "That was so good, y'all!" My brother commented, "If I was way into vegetarian food, that would have been awesome." High praise from an omnivorous teenager! Great experience, looking forward to coming back!

Holy Falafel Balls this place is fantastic! We tried the granola bowl, the Buddha bowl, and the Mediterranean wrap. All three were wonderful. The raw falafel balls were delicious. The tzatziki cucumber salad was scrumptious. The granola was awesome. I can't even begin to describe the deserts we tried. Unbelievable. The owner came over to chat and was as darling as could be...as a mostly raw gluten free vegan, I am thrilled to have somewhere to eat that is so wonderful. I will definitely sign up for the raw cooking classes as well.

I love going to Ezra's. Their food is very well-priced (yes, more expensive but the prices are set to accommodate non-GMO high quality ingredients). I love the Buddha bowl and would also recommend attending their raw cooking classes. Not only do you learn a TON, but you also get to try some new products :)

I was very excited to see a completely organic and vegetarian place make it's way to Indy. If you're in need of a detox or just feel like a fresh meal, Ezra's is sure to please. I had the Buddha Bowl, which consisted of lots of fresh kale, carrots, shaved beets tossed in a light lemony dressing. The only complaint I have is the falafel served with the salad were a little small. I think I would've preferred maybe one more falafel (they were quite delicious!) Next time I will hit up their dessert case as I saw some yummy homemade macaroons and carrot muffins.

Following my initial review of Ezra's, I've gone back twice to check out other popular dishes (can't stop, won't stop). The classic buddha bowl and the nacho mama bean bowl (how fun is that name?) are 5 star worthy! The buddha bowl features falafels (never had them before) and the BEST kale I have EVER eaten. Local honey spice kale. I could eat it every day. A heaping bowl of greens and healthy veggies for $12. The nacho mama bean bowl is served with warm quinoa and pinto beans atop local greens. Again, addicting. I ate it rather quickly because I couldn't get over how delicious it was. Service both times has been quick and friendly! Other notes: *nice sized, clean bathroom *free filtered water *grab 'n go options available in the fridge (Mondays are grab 'n go only) *delicious assortment of raw/vegan "baked" goods and treats *don't forget to tip if you pay with cash!

I had the nacho mamas bean bowl!!! Omg, it was sooooooo good!! This place is my new Friday lunch staple!!!! Can't wait to see what the special Is for today!!!!!

Ezra's reinforced a very important lesson: when feeling overwhelmed at a new restaurant, check Yelp! My order was delicious, but those vegan meatballs and pad thai are giving me just a twinge of regret. But the Chili Chocolate Granola Bowl hit the spot AND gave my Instagram game a boost. Win win. Here's why I'm coming back to Ezra's: 1) Price // It's raw, so yep - it's expensive! But I've spent $8 on coffee and a bagel at Starbucks, and this is an INFINITELY more satisfying option. 2) Location // It's a nice, quiet, tucked away spot in Broad Ripple. Very zen. 3) Seating // Well-lit inside, comfortable spot outside. It's perfect for shooting the shit with a friend, or camping out with your laptop. 4) Options // Gotta catch 'em all. Everything looks so dang good! You'll be seeing me again, Ezra's.

I can't believe I've missed writing a review for Ezra's. This is a serious misstep on my part for so many reasons! Ezra's (named for the owner's adorable son) is the sort of place our city has needed for SUCH A LONG TIME. You may see raw/vegan and start thinking this is total hippie food and think it's not for you. Seriously stop your self right there. This is not your grandma's raw cuisine. Owner/chef Audrey is constantly on a mission to find new and creative ways to make her food shine, and each thing I eat here is more delicious than the last. Even better, I feel amazing after eating here. Look through the pictures they post daily on social media of the food and know that each thing you are seeing tastes even more fresh and full of flavor than you think. New items each day make me want to come in for lunch always. The location is also super cute. It's the sort of atmosphere that makes you want to linger over your tea, or get a piece of cake after your meal (which I almost always do, and never regret). Everyone who works here is unerringly kind. You chat with them while ordering and end up wanting them all as friends.

Why don't I come here more often? After spending 3 hours here the other day, I immediately went home and reworked my schedule to have two upcoming meetings be located at Ezra's. Why meet up for sugary coffee drinks when you can have a beet smoothie instead? Guilt free and served with love. What else do I love about this semi-new Broad Ripple business? They have a constantly changing and expanding menu that features local ingredients and raw vegan options like zucchini pasta with dandelion pesto and the smoothie bowl (topped with bee pollen coconut lime granola and almond butter) - - I also added kale to my smoothie bowl - wowza, was it tasty or what? Lastly, it's the smiling faces and abundant sunshine that pours into this business that leave me hungry for more. They offer an outdoor patio and garage style window countertop for those of us who can't get enough natural light when working. Check out their Instagram for healthy food porn and ordering inspiration.

Preparing delicious, wholesome food AND keeping me skinny? How could I not give Ezra's five stars?! Walking in, I was immediately greeted by the girls behind the counter. They offered to help me pick out the "right" items for breakfast, which was harder that you'd think. From almond toast to Buddha bowls to salads to smoothies to sushi to sweets, I was overwhelmed in all the right ways. With a little bit of help, I narrowed it down to the Indy Toast, Chocolate Hazelnut Cake w/ Avocado Frosting (emphasis on the frosting), and a shot of Ginger-Tumeric-Lemon-Honey juice. I have many, many nice things to say about all of the things I ordered. I'm conscious of how many times I say the word "fresh" in my reviews, but it's the most appropriate word to use here: all of my food was FRESH and invigorating...even the cake! I didn't miss the animal products or "butter and love" goodness that send me into a food coma one bit. Wanting to savor the experience, I walked out with their spicy sweet potato and corn soup for dinner, which I am excited to eat given what I've had already. To sum it up, this is a top-notch eatery perfect for vegans and foodies alike!

Being a carnivore who doesn't mind dipping my toes in the vegetarian/vegan pool from time to time I thought I would try this out one way to a meeting. They have a wide variety of options that all sound good but when I saw someone eating a plate full of the rainbow I knew what I wanted. It turned out to be a vegetarian pad Thai and the special of the day. Squash noodles, with red cabbage, carrots, and red pepper covered with a yummy peanut sauce. A picture is worth a thousand words in this case.

I can't get enough of this place. The food is amazing and it just has such a great energy. Delicious and healthy everything. Indy has nothing else like this and could certainly use more health conscious places with tasty food! The desserts are also amazing and I don't feel the least bit guilty endulging. LOVE IT!

Loved this space, the people and the food. Had an amazing soup with corn and a sample of one of the juices which was amazing. Also tried 3 desserts: brownie, lemon macaroon and chai something truffle- all petite and sweet. Can't wait to go back. If I lived on Ezra's food, I think I just might drop 10 pounds.

Can we get a 6th star for Ezras? Any eatery that makes food so delicious that I would consider changing my diet for is so deserving of a 6th star. I have been trying to rock the Paleo diet for over a year now however, with so many wonderful new dining options in Indy...and my love for beer... it's hard to stay true. Ezra's makes it easy..ier. It's one of a handful of places in Indy I personally feel I can go too, order from the menu, and not have to modify a meal. In addition, who knew Raw Vegan cuisine could be so delicious? I didn't. Every time I visit I tell myself if I could eat like this everyday I would go vegan. It is that good! Good news! They offer classes to learn more. Let's talk food shall we, this is what I have tried so far..... *Buddha Bowl (extremely filling, beets, honey spiced kale, fermented veggies, sunflower sprouts, avocado, tasty raw falafel balls, lemon Tahini dressing). So many wonderful flavors mixing together for an incredible mind blowing salad experience. *Nacho Mamma Bowl (warm beans & quinoa, greens, avocado, and that nacho cheeze! How do you make that cheeze? I want to know! Great dish and very filling. *RaWco Taco Salad (walnut taco meat & that nacho cheeze (again). Served with flax chips that work perfectly to scoop up that nacho cheeze. Best taco salad I have ever had hands down. This one is full of healthy goodness, you just feel good eating it. *Anti-inflammatory Turmeric Quinoa Salad (delicious and so good for you!) Perfect Grab N Go option to eat in between a meeting or a nice side dish. *Herbed Cashew Cheeze (tastes just like cheese but better). Great with flax crackers. I am thinking about adding it to future charcuterie boards for gatherings. Mondays they prep for the week so they only offer Grab N Go. Come early because items sell out quickly. Personal notes: I must try 1 of each of those amazing desserts in the case, the granola bowl, a hot tonic latte, and nourishing shots. Oh my! I have a lot of eating to do!

Ezra's was SUCH a delightful little nook in BRip. I loved the creative, raw, vegan food! There were so many options! I had the warrior smoothie bowl topped with chia seeds, granola and raw pistachios. I just LOVED this place. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I left feeling centered like I do after a good yoga class. Give your body some love and head over to Ezra's! You won't regret it

So yummy! I got the rising warrior bowl and I felt comfortably full and happy afterward rather than bloated and stuffed. The inside is small but so cute. Parking is really difficult if busy, so plan accordingly. My mother got the Buddha Bowl and I fell in LOVE. The dragon tea was also yummy, just a light flavor to wake up the tastebuds. Definitely stopping here again on my next Memphis Detroit road trip!

4.5 Stars I'm not sure what took so long, but Indy finally has a dedicated Gluten and Dairy free vegan place to eat thanks to Ezra's Enlightened Cafe. I am not going to lie, but Ezra's might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is something that even the most skeptic person should try at least once for three main reasons: 1. It is by far the healthiest meals that you will ever eat while dining out 2. The ingredients are fresh, the menu varies based on seasonal availability 3. Yes, a meal that doesn't contain meat and gluten can be extremely filling Ezra's is located right off of Ferguson St. in Broad Ripple, so parking can be a pain to find if you happen to not live in the area and are driving. As always, there is street parking. There is also a small lot in front, but it is shared by the businesses in the area. Ezra's is a quaint little cafe. Upon entering, you are greeted by the friendly crew and a giant case full of goodies that can wreck havoc on your wallet if you let your eyes continue to peruse the case. There is extremely limited seating and it can get crowded. On nice days, they do offer outside seating. The menu changes based on availability of goods, so what is listed one day on their menu might not be there the next. Of the items they have offered, I have had the pleasure of eatting: *Avocado wrap- The wrap was lettuce, coated in hummus and filled with avocados and other veggies. While messy, this was extremely filling. I was only able to eat 1/2 of the wrap. *Flax Crackers with hummus dip- Loved the crackers. Ezra's did a good job on the flavoring and texture. I was thankful of their execution because it tasted like real food and didn't remind me at all of bird food. Also, their take on hummus was refreshing. I almost wanted to say that they used ginger in it. *Chocolate Brownie- This wasn't one of my favorite dishes in terms of the texture and flavoring (coconut) when I think brownie *Super food Chai Bowl- This mighty protein pack bowl is deceiving. While the size of the bowl may seem small at first, it is extremely filling *Spring Dragon Tea- At first it was a bit off putting, but it is really quite smooth and soothing tea with a unique after taste

Wow. I've had raw food at a restaurant near Chicago many times and loved it, so I was excited when Ezra's opened in Indy. I went there with my mom the other day, and my expectations were surpassed! Absolutely fantastic. I had the Buddha Bowl and my mom had the zucchini pasta, and we both loved our dishes. The buddha bowl was a salad with several incredibly fresh greens and veggies and an amazing tahini yogurt dressing. We also tried the lime cheesecake and strawberry shortcake for dessert and were equally impressed. I also love the hippy, peaceful feel of the place, full of bright colors, sunlight, and fantastic inspirational quotes on the wall. Ezra, you have me looking forward to coming back.

Absolutely tops the charts of best raw/vegan restaurants! The food was exquisite and the owner was very pleasant and beautiful, as well as the employees. It was such a comfortable and inviting atmosphere in a cute neighborhood. The mocha ice cream cake was amazing, the carrot muffin even beat Raw Chicago's muffins....I didn't think that was possible, but they did it! I definitely recommend the Buddha bowl too! Cannot wait to pass back through and try more goodies.

  • Laura M.

Unf. That's good food. Do not - I repeat do not - let your trepidation at eating a meal that's vegan/raw/gluten free stop you from checking out Ezra's. The Buddha bowl is a fantastic mix of greens, carrots, beets, slaw, avocado, falafel, and sauce. Every bite was delicious, although it's so filling that I had to save some for later. The playful pad thai looks like simple zucchini noodles with a nut sauce, but the flavors are complex enough to knock you naked. Last but not least, the chocolate hazelnut cake is rich, creamy, and has an almost mousse-like flavor. So good! Mondays are prep days, so the only available items are from the grab and go menu. I'll have to come back to check out Taco Tuesday and some of their other specials. Oh, and if you subscribe to their email list you get a free ebook version of Enlighten Your Plate, which teaches you how to make some of their goodies! Looking forward to giving it a whirl.

Although everyone recommends the buddha bowl, that was definitely my least favorite dish I had here. But that doesn't mean it was bad! The nacho mama was delicious-so much so in fact that my boyfriend (a food loving carnivore who I've dragged to more than one vegan restaurant) commented that it was the best vegan food he'd had out. Yum yum yum!

Love the way they've solved the problem of seating capacity. The little patio is now enclosed & has a dandy electric fireplace, making a snug, brightly lit addition to the dining area. I've eaten here multiple times - tried something different each visit, & everything was fantastic & delicious. Do yourself a favor, be good to your body & soul, and eat something wholesome & satisfying.

Good: brownies, coconut, taco salad, Buddha bowl, great service, even if you think you hate vegan or are picky, the taco "meat" tastes like meat! Great cashew butter, dressings, new added hours! Open till after 5 now instead of 3 Bad: small, takes awhile to get food, busy behind counter, very chaotic and slow at times. Very rich hippie vibe-which is fine but sincerity and better communication and quickness would be appreciated, especially when you ask for and with me, receive tips on all orders-which is usually carry out It's also rude sometimes, and in summer there were many bees inside with no one trying to get rid of them-Who can eat comfortably with bees buzzing or staff cleaning, stacking chairs around you-with seating for under 12 pple.

Wow, so happy to find some real healthy foods her in IN. This place has great food ranging from quinoa, beans, salads, juices, smoothies, and sweets! Very fresh! Staff seemed professional and the owner dedicated. Go show your support even if you are not vegan!

On my way from the Red River Gorge, came in with my wife 15 minutes before closing. Ordered Buddha bowl and Nacho Mama's Plate; frozen mocha ice-cream cake, muffin and pumpkin cheesecake. The most delicious food ever. Every single bite! The owner is a warm women, welcomed us describing food items. Just amaing! Look out, Chicago Raw! Highly recommend. Will visit again! (and again!)

I've been seeking out Indy restaurants that serve fresh, healthy food and Ezra's definitely fits the bill! I went on a Sunday afternoon and there was no wait. The inside is a bit small but has a nice patio area with additional seating. Their menu consists of juices, smoothies, "shots" (the health food 'booster' kind), salads, and desserts. I ordered the Buddha bowl ($12) which had kale, spinach, avocado, beets, and carrot with a tahini dressing. I have a nut allergy and didn't realize there was an ingredient containing nuts until my meal came out. They gladly swapped it out for more avocado (yum!). I thought it was very nice of them to be so accommodating. For dessert, I tried the chocolate coconut macaroons ($1.25 each). Droooool. They were so delicious! And you could tell they were made with quality ingredients. While the price point is a bit higher, I agree you get what you pay for and I think Ezra's is worth the splurge. I'll definitely be back.

HUGE MAD love for this place! I've been waiting for Indy to have a restaurant like Ezra's for years and it's finally arrived. The food is full of all good stuff (raw, vegan, organic, gluten-free) and beyond tasty. I absolutely love the Chili Chocolate Granola - it has an awesome "kick" to it. Perfect morning pick me up or grab-and-go snack any time of the day (nice big chunks of goodness to grab on your way out the door). The Strawberry "Cheezecake was so tasty - and you don't have that guilty feeling after eating it. Don't even get me started on the other desserts... Everything tastes fresh and wholesome. And the owner and team are super friendly. This place will be packed in time - get there ASAP!

Use your GPS to find this place, cause it is WORTH IT!! My friend and I shared the sweet potatoe soup and the special bowl of the day...bought a carrot muffin that weighed about 2 pounds for breakfast the following day... How can I put this? My taste buds are STILL singing...everything fresh, delicious and awesome! If you are eating healthy, ..GO NOW!!

This is healthy food that actually tastes wonderful! The daily specials make it worth stopping by every day to see what new dish is being offered. I had the RaWco Tacos and could not believe how filling it was - I actually had to take half of it home for dinner. Just a small sample of the chocolate cookies was enough to make me buy a box to take home! Compared to other restaurants for breakfast/lunch they may seem a little pricey (expect to pay around $8-$12 per meal), but considering what you are getting is completely local, organic, and fresh, it is well worth the price.

As they say; "your source for dairy-free, gluten free, non-gmo and organic local food in indy. A real gem tucked away in the back off the main street. It's a little hard to get into the parking lot but once in, plenty of parking available. I was there early January while it was crazy cold and plenty of snow on the ground. To enter, you walk thru their glass patio to get to the main door. It's a tiny space but every corner used wisely. To the right, they have books along with local literature of happenings in the area. To the left they have a counter long with a few tables and chairs. Tucked away on the far left sat a refrigerator where people can grab things to go. In the middle is the ordering area, a beautiful glass display of a variety of raw desserts, and the staff is most helpful in answering any questions. I had been driving for several hours and just wanted to warm up with a chai tea. They didn't have but were quick to offer me an herbal tea made with warm almond milk. I was impressed.

Love the energy in this place. The Buddha bowl is hands down the best salad I've ever eaten while dining out. Chef Audrey is so talented and seems to have perfected the model of fresh, healthy, delicious dishes in well-sized portions for fair prices. Glad to have this option in Broad Ripple!

expensive, very little parking, very little space while inside. that makes a difference when there are children in their carry all seats. Cramped inside. staff seems very nice. Great spot, of course they'll get a lot larger location when the become successfull. so enjoy this location they expand and grow

This place has amaaaaaazing food!!! I always feel my best after a meal here. The smoothies are a meal in themselves and the staff is always super friendly and happy to accomodate. Finally a place where I don't have to ask for a gf df menu!! A six star place for sure!

Fast and friendly service and even better food! I had the Buddha bowl and it was a breath of fresh air! Also tried a little bit of the Ginger Tumeric shot and it was awesome. Everyone should experience Ezra's!
