first time and had my fourteen yo and four yo in tow. found via yelp - filtered so all three of us would be happy - and we were not disappointed. the owner was our waitress and just made the entire experience great. she was laid back and friendly and just gave off good vibes. both girls loved their food (dean's burger and grilled cheese) and ate every bite. i had the black bean burger and it was so good. it was huge too which is a nice change from frozen things some places use. nice presentation. large water glasses. it has a sports bar feel but the food doesn't match the decor and style... it is so much better. good prices. it was about 30 for all of us to eat and it was worth it w/ the food and customer service. we will be back and next time i am bringing the hubby. large family restroom. clean.

Great patio, view of downtown Indy skyline, good location, easy parking... I'm sold on Ember. Started with the Sangria pitcher for $20. This is definitely the way to go - my friend and I each got 3 maybe 3 1/2 glasses each out of the pitcher. Not my favorite sangria ever - but a good drink regardless. Shared the Roasted Caprese appetizer. Oh wow, phenomenal! Best part of the experience. Could have been my meal alone. The mozzarella, tomatoes and garlic worked so well together on the bread. I went with the chicken sandwich on cibatta for my meal and that was good too. Not as flavorful as I had hoped but still good. I'm blanking on our server's name but he was kind and didn't pry but still made sure we had a fantastic experience. Will definitely be back to enjoy a beverage and the patio. A hidden gem of the Fountain Square area not to be missed.

A nice clean place with good location. I had the brisket with some slaw, except for the fact that it was a knife and fork sandwich it was great. My gf got a burger and was PISSED about how greasy it was. But after drying it out and resisting the bun she calmed down and ended up enjoying it. It is worth a try and I would like to try it again.

Great lunch spot with outdoor seating and local craft beers. The cook knows how to make a really good burger cooked to a perfect medium. Too many places over cook meats, but their half pounder made with four cuts of prime beef was perfect. The choices for the Fountain Square area keep getting better, and this place will be on our regular rotation for the office lunch crew.

What the **** took me so long?!?! I had a chance to try a couple of their creations at a Yelp Elite event and kicked myself for not getting my @$$ into the restaurant sooner. THIS may be the place I bring out-of-town guests. The owner is amazing. She has the biggest heart and a real desire to build a community. And what better way to do that than around a table of incredible food. I'm not sure what all I tried, but everything was divine. A couple other Yelp guests said they'd been in with a group and ate their way through all of the appetizers - sounds like my kind of table mates. Who wants to head over to Fletcher Place and nosh with me?

I devoured (downtown) here with a group of 10 (EEK! I hate being those people, but luckily Ember was accommodating and prompt). We started at the bar, which included taps from Three Pints, Fountain Square, and Bier. I started chatting with Shelly, the owner, and she is a real delight: very personable and welcoming, even on a pretty busy night. After studying the Devour menu, which had the most options I have seen out of the participating restaurants, I ordered the caprese, brisket ragu over cheesy grits, and cheesecake. The food was good, but I wasn't blown away by the flavors in these dishes (aka no eye rolling to the back of my head and moaning). Out of the three, I'd have the say I enjoyed the brisket ragu the most. You can tell this is a recipe the restaurant is proud of, for they showcased it in two dishes. Thanks to Shelly's hospitality, I'd like to come back for another go and try it on a sandwich. NOTE: I second Jon C's comment about the view...sitting at the front of the restaurant, we had a great view of the cityscape. BONUS: they have a patio, which I hope is utilized in warmer months!

Went for the Fourth of July and had reservations on the patio. We had a great time. The service was spot on and very friendly. I had the smoked wings, OMG fantastic.

July 4th.. You come here for the view.. Not the food. Limited menu options.. Some of the items weren't available (like the chicken fingers). Paper plates and missing items. I'm still waiting on my cole slaw. Service was slow. 20 minutes for our server to split checks. I honestly think that they didn't know what to expect. The owner was super sweet, but I think was a bit overwhelmed. The band and radio during the fireworks was great. I'm going to give this place another chance when there isn't a special event. Lots of potential!

Definitely would not have known this place existed had a friend not brought me--although I've driven by many times, the offset location and general lack of signage (the name is one of many on the building's waist-high sign) make it a little difficult to see. Entering Ember, it's surprising how much larger the room feels compared to its external appearance. There's ample seating for groups (a 10-top was next to us) and big booths that could seat 6 comfortably. The bar area is roomy, too, and pours a variety of local beers like Sun King, Bier, Indiana City, and Fountain Square. They've really done a lot with the space. Food: the menu here is... Eclectic, to say the least. Pasta puttanesca, chili, brisket nachos, and... cod en papillote? It's an interesting mix of high and low, with lots of vegetarian options if that's your thing. I tried the pasta arrabiata, which was a pleasant level of angry (spicy) without overwhelming the seasoning of the dish. My dining companion had the black bean burger, which tasted like it was made in-house and was far better than the typical Boca burger offering. I noticed on their menu they do brunch on the weekends (also that they have a Four Loko "patio punch," but let's not judge them for that); would love to come back and see what the menu offers then.

This place is a gem. The food is absolutely awesome. The minor twists they put on popular dishes are delicious. More importantly you are always treated like family. Rob & Shelley know how to do it right!

This is my favorite restaurant. Hey, I live in Sobro and am surrounded by awesomeness in the food & beverage departments; but Ember draws me like a magnet. They're tucked away on the corner of South, East, & Virginia, with an awesome patio perfect for keeping an eye on Cultural Trail comings & goings, and live music on certain days. They have a great little bar. Everyone here is super friendly and eager to give great service. Love the food, always great specials and soup and vegetarian selections. Now they have all you can eat Saturday morning breakfast, and I can't get enough of the French toast casserole yum! Jump off the Cultural Trail on your way down Virginia Avenue and try them out.

DELICIOUS! Such a shame that we don't live in Indy or else we would frequent this place all the time. Perfect asparagus and the most tender brisket we have ever had. The customer service was impeccable too!

This is the most underrated eatery in downtown Indy. The ambiance is limited, but the food is outstanding. The brisket sandwich I had there recently was one of the best lunches I've ever had. I recommend it to all people looking for the hidden gems of downtown Indy.

In town for the weekend. We were craving burgers and this place was close to our hotel, about a quarter mile. This place has prob one of the best burgers I have had in some time. Get the fries with it too. I am sure we will be eating here one or two more times before we leave town. However, they decided the day off to make it reservation only without letting patrons know is kinda crappy

Such a terrible experience. I thought I had already written this, but I guess not. We decided to try this place out with some friends one night before an Indy Eleven game. We show up impressed by the location and excited for outdoor seating on such a nice night. We sit. We sit longer. Oh! Someone finally noticed they have new customers! We get some water and order beers. We sit some more. Decide what we want. Sit longer. Change our minds on our orders. 15min later... Beers! So we order and let them know that we are in a bit of a hurry at this point to make the soccer game. We get salads and they were pretty decent. We wait another 30min for food. Everyone gets theirs... but my order is something completely different from what I ordered. Different sandwich, different sides. I let the waiter know and this just totally shits on his day. I'm apparently the biggest pain in the ass ever for wanting what I ordered. Sigh. Everyone starts eating (meanwhile we get the second round that we ordered 20min earlier). One of my friends finds an inedible piece of something that looks like fried chicken... in his cheeseburger. Now look, I'm on board for chicken beef sandwiches, but this was not that type of awesome situation. This was super gross and confusing. How'd that even get in there!? So about 10 min before we need to be in our seats at the stadium I get my food to go and eat some of it in the car. It's wasn't good, or maybe I could only taste the disappointment at that point.
We tried Ember for the first time last weekend. Our service was outstanding. The food was good but not amazing. My husband had a dry looking pasta dish, and I had a pork belly sandwich. I would go back and explore other menu options. The view of downtown from the outside deck is great. Worth a second shot.

Roasted Caprese? Hallelujah and Yes God! I was so happy to finally get to try Ember Urban Eatery. I've been meaning to stop in for what seems like forever. The atmosphere is cozy and pleasant, and the food is delish. I sat out on the patio, and it was both spacious and intimate. Don't ask me how those two go together, you'll just have to trust me. I did feel like our server could have made us a little bit more of a priority, but I'll attribute that to being a part of a large group and not to any mal-intent. I definitely recommend Ember if you're in the area. After all, anything with a name that close to Amber is bound to be good. ;-)

Devour Downtown brought us into this place and so glad it did. Atmosphere: Warm, welcoming, bistro-like feel. Staff: We did not have reservations, but we should have, as they were busy! They helped us by letting us know the bar is open seating and even gave us a heads up when a couple was leaving. Met the lovely lady that owns the place and her two charming sons. They were very friendly and so accommodating. Made us feel very welcome. Enjoyed sitting at the bar. Food: We chose the Devour Menu. Everything we had was delicious! Drinks: Sangria and a malt beverage punch. Both were good, but I liked the Sangria better, and I think one of the better Sangrias in the city. Not too fruity and not too dry, but just right. Appetizers: Potato Croquettes and Mini Caprese. Depends on your preference. I particularly loved the Potato Croquettes. They were much like my mother's, nice crispy coating and creamy inside. Entree: Chicken Marsala and House Smoked Brisket. I preferred the Chicken Marsala with a light creamy sauce and a generous portion of two breasts. The brisket was good, but a safe choice. On a future visit I would try the Smoked Brisket Ragu over cheesy grits. Brussel sprouts were a side on all of our entrees, and all three in my party stated that we usually don't like them. However, all three of us agreed that Ember converted us to Brussel Sprout lovers. Dessert: Cognac cheese cake with home made vanilla and cinnamon whip cream and Ghirardelli chocolate cake with home made whip cream and fresh berry. No explanation required. Get both! Value: One of the better Devour menus this round as far as bang for your buck. The portions are appropriate for the cost, and the good service and well prepared, delicious food are well worth the visit. Definitely will return to try other menu items.

It's an alright place. Simple burger and fries, correctly cooked (although the fries was over salted), and a cold draft beer to wash it down. No surprises.

I'll keep it short and sweet. It's awesome. I'm new to the Fountain Square dining scene and wanted to try something new. I'm glad I did. Stopped by for a quick lunch. Got the brisket and fries. Both were SUPER delicious and affordable. I'm going for the Western Burger next. Can't say too much about the service because I was the only one in the joint. Not going to complain about that...I just think the place doesn't get noticed. The waiter was a cool dude to talk to though. The atmosphere was exactly what I would expect for the new style of bars seeming to be popping up around town. Very clean, intimate, and warm. Will certainly be visiting again.

Wings were amazing! They had this Northern Alabama BBQ sauce that was so delicious! We also ordered a burger that was done perfect and had great seasonings. Our waiter John was very knowledgable about local brews! Overall, great spot, awesome food and superb service!
This place was decent for a new venue. The food took quite a while (about 45 mins). The wings... I'd go back just for those. By far the best wings I've had in a while. The other party members I was with enjoyed the chicken sandwich. My burger tasted like your typical burger but a little underdone. I ate it anyways b/c I was starving. The place if very small and very limited for big groups. But groups of 4 or less are easily seated. Service was on-key. All in all, it's nice to see another venue in the area, but it's nothing that is knock-your-socks-off-out-of-this-world compared to some of the other new eateries around Indy. There is a lot of competition out there. I'll review my review upon a return lunch visit soon.

This place manages to be welcoming, elegant, clean, casual, sporty and maybe even a little sexy. What it fails to do is justify its own existence. I probably would have been able to bump this 3.5 star review to the more favorable side if it weren't for the swai that I was seeking. But they were out of swai and somehow couldn't tell me until 10 minutes after I ordered. Oops. Even when only three tables were full, on a Saturday night. The pork cutlet I got was smartly cooked, the green beans steamed to perfection, the mashed potatoes like flavorful suede. But this was also the second most interesting thing on the menu, behind the swai. Which was out. Burgers, wings, brisket. Ain't nothing wrong with any of them as long as you're carnivorous. And supposedly they are superlative. But Ember Urban Eatery hopes to compete with Bluebeard, and Tortas Guicho Dominguez, Mama Irma, Pure Eatery and--heck--even Rook. Sure, those places may be for "food dorks", but the ambition of the menu at Ember is more for the (dare I say it) Applebee's Crowd. Or even Gray Brothers Cafeteria, though that is probably doing Gray Brothers a disservice, since at least the brothers Gray know they should remain comfortably ensconced in Mooresville. Ember is an adequate effort, but it feels out of place. But can anything feel "in place" in the Villagio, Indy's most recent architectural abomination? Outdoor seating that will arrive in the summer might make Ember Urban a little more visible, but unless it spices up that dishwater-dull menu, there won't be a spark to Ember by next spring.

I got a discount gift certificate for this place. We ordered the smoked wings, the Cuban sandwich, and a flat bread. I'll start with the wings. They were highly recommended. They were decent, but not great. They lacked flavor and the sauce just didn't fit. They were perfectly cooked though. The Cuban was disappointing. The meat was bland and they deviated from the normal yellow mustard. Also they didn't put a pickle on it. The flat bread was actually just a dip type thing with toast points. Pretty bland overall. They do things ok here. The menu is creative it just wasn't executed very well.

I've been in Ember twice. Once for lunch and once for dinner. The food was good, although I've yet to try the much talked about wings. My biggest complaint is about the atmosphere. It's definitely more of a lunch time atmosphere than dinner/bar atmosphere. During dinner time the place was empty, it was quiet, and not a place where I would stay to have one more beer after finished eating. With that said, the patio was filling up while we were there and perhaps a better option if you're looking for atmosphere.

This is a neat local eatery in a highly visible location at the intersection of 3 fairly busy streets. There is a small lot in front, but there is also another lot in back so parking is not an issue. Ember boasts a small craft/local beer list which nowadays is a minimum requirement. The food came out pretty quick for a busy Saturday night (it was also Devour Downtown week). I would describe the menu as honest and rustic. The chicken wings are some of the best I've had in a while. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. The owner stopped by at every table to personally ask how our experience was (a nice touch).

My first time here I ordered the spinach frittata, the spinach soup, and red velvet cake. The soup was fine except it came with melted mozzarella cheese on top which I didn't like. Cheddar would have been better. Also, it wasn't very highly seasoned. A good dose of salt from the shaker made it more appealing. The frittata was more like a quiche. I was expecting an open-face omelet. It was a bit dry and firm, and again lacking seasoning but it wasn't bad. The salad that came with it had no cheese and was dressed with plain vinaigrette. I didn't eat it because I don't eat leaves unless topped with cheese and a creamy dressing. The cake was a mass produced single serving torte. Nothing to brag about but ok. My server was nice but didn't offer a drink refill then she took my completed bill while I was still at the table. I decided to try it again. This time I got the veggie soup and a black bean veggie burger. The soup was good but lacked some heat. The burger was pretty good but, again a little short on seasoning. It also tended to fall apart. Nothing here is bad but I would recommend it for those who prefer their food on the bland side. I originally gave it 3 stars. Nothing this time around compels me to change that.

The wings... Delicious! (Get the wing sauce even if it's with your fries) The wedge... Outstanding! (The bluecheese is soooo good) Cannot wait to come back soon.

This place is a little hard to see, its at a crazy intersection wedged between a gym and a dentists. We live close so we decided to give it a try, and wow are we glad we did. I have no idea how people have said the service was terrible. We had exactly the opposite experience. The food is a tid bit pricey but well worth it, you can tell they use high quality items. I got the burger my wife got the chicken sandwich. We loved both of them. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We ordered from here a couple of times because they have delivery from OrderUp. The food is very fresh and prepared well. I ordered the steak sandwich the first night and it was Amazing! The creamy horseradish and the grilled jalapeño added just the right amount of extra flavor. It was so good my husband ordered it the next night for dinner! My husband also ordered a cheeseburger the first night and he said it was one of the best cheeseburgers he has had. The fries that came with each sandwich were really good. Still warm when delivered and they were not overly salted, just the perfect seasoning. The Caprese appetizer was good, but might have been better had we ate in house. We also had the Unwedge salad, and it was pretty flavorful and fresh for being delivery. I ordered the Chicken Marsala and it was a major disappointment. The gravy was oversalted and completely ruined the dish. It was pretty inedible. Even my husband who likes to salt his food said that it was extremely salty. Otherwise, it looked good, just bummed I couldn't really eat it.

The food here is excellent and extremely affordable. The service wasn't outstanding but it wasn't bad either. I would recommend the caprese as an appetizer, you will not be disappointed. I had the special that evening, which was the duck. It was outstanding and was probably the largest portion of duck I have ever had. The beer selection is also outstanding. Give this place a try.

Their fries are fantastic with any of their awesome burgers. I have yet to try their wings which have heard are the best item on the menu. During my last visit I had the Italian Beer with peppers with Sriracha sauce. DELICIOUS. While you are here, grab a Three Pints draft, they are awesome!

Lunch today with 3 friends. 2 of us had the blackened fish sandwich, parts of it were cold and undercooked. Burger was not cooked as asked. 4 cheese pasta was missing the chicken. Epic fail, we won't be going back.

I could have sworn I posted this back when we ate here, but apparently not; we dined here with friends before the Ray Lamontagne show in June. I have to say, I'm glad so many of you seem to have had better experiences with the owner as ours was memorable - but for all the wrong reasons. We made a reservation for 6 people via Open Table not knowing how busy this joint typically is on a Friday night, and at the last minute 1 of the couples couldn't make it. No big deal, right? After we'd ordered our drinks the owner marched over, asked which of us was Erin, then proceeded to ream me out for showing up with less people than I had reserved because Open Table would charge her $2.50/no show. She then asked me to change my reservation so she wouldn't have to "eat the cost". Um, are you kidding me?! I've used Open Table and had a similar situation happen at other restaurants and was never told this or treated that way. She then sat at a nearby table and lit up a cigarette, smoke blowing our way. And I'll say again... Are you kidding me?! The food was fine. Beer selection was fine. Service was otherwise fine. We're never going back. Too many new places popping up in the area to waste our time with such RUDE customer service.

Cozy atmosphere...check. Great food that will cause uncontrollable salivating when you think about it later...check. Prices that won't rip your wallet a new one...check. We visited this place on a whim one night, not knowing what to expect. We sidled up to the bar, ordered a glass of wine and a pint of beer. And that's when I met the love of my (food) life: Urban Wings. They're flash fried and served with a delicious peppery dipping sauce. The prices are very reasonable considering the neighborhood. And it's great for smallish groups. I recommend watching a playoff game at the bar with a glass of wine or enjoying a pint of beer on the patio with the skyline as your backdrop. And of course the wings. You've got to try the wings.

Their small front parking lot was packed during Devour Downtown; a week later, it was pretty empty on a Saturday night. And they were out of wings! Service (by owner?) was very attentive- recommendations for food and drinks, offers for samples of drinks and the soup of the day. Roasted half-chicken had a delicious crispy skin. Came w sides of "vegetable of the day" and "potato", being green beans and mashed potatoes. I added a small wedge salad instead of the cream if spinach soup I tried. I really liked the roasted tomatoes on the salad and the dressing was not too bleu. Husband had the chili, which was a thin soup but spicy. He enjoyed his brisket sandwich. Overall, food was ok. Wish I coulda tried the wings. The place has a slightly old fashioned vibe, kinda like a greasy spoon joint in a renovated space. Hope they make it.

Perhaps because Ember was new to Devour Downtown, but this place was busy. We foolishly did not make a reservation for our table of 7 on a Wednesday night, but only had to wait a half hour to be seated. We waited at the bar, and I was happy to see $3.50 select craft beer pints. It isn't a large selection of craft beer, but at least they have some. This is also the first place I've seen 3 Pints (Plainfield) beer on tap. I find it odd that they only gave us Devour Downtown menus when we were seated, but it wasn't a big deal since that was our game plan anyway. The smoked wings were the winner of the night; however, my friends that got the smoked brisket compared it to jerky. I had the flat-iron steak, which was cooked well, but the potato and pepper hash with it could have used a couple more minutes of cooking. The cheesecake was decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. Overall I'd say that the food was solid, but nothing innovative. I'd go here again, but probably give it another 6 months to see if they smooth out some of their kinks.

Okay I will start off with saying it was for devour downtown. With that in mind this is what i had to eat. Urban wings. Now they tasted great you get four of them but one of them was under cooked. Flat Iron steak. The steak was cooked to perfection shame that the vegs that came with it where not. Chocolate truffle tart. Sent me too heaven and beyond. The place its self in my humble mind looks great, It has a nice long bar with 2 TVs if you are into watching TV instead of talking too your pals. The walls are covered with great pictures that i loved and would want on my walls. The booths are a nice size that can fit four without feeling that the person next too you will have too help cut your food up, for you. I will be back!

We've been talking about trying this spot, and Devour Downtown gave us the perfect excuse to head in. First, the food: We had smoked wings and caprese salad as our appetizers. The wings are smoked in house and the caprese has roasted tomatoes and garlic and (what tasted like) homemade mozzarella. We were both super pleased with our choices. Husband had the roasted half chicken for his dinner, which was delicious alongside green beans and mashed potatoes that tasted more like butter and cream with a splash of potato-not a complaint. I had the flat iron steak dinner, which I was a little less excited about. Full disclosure: I don't like meat anything less than medium, and I prefer medium-well. (I'll give you a minute here to judge my steak eating preferences...) That being said, the steak was a little overcooked, even for me. I was pretty excited about a red potato and pepper hash, but it managed to be both salty AND bland at the same time. All of that aside, the steak did have good flavor. I wouldn't order this particular dinner again, but everything else we had was great! Good tap list. Our server was attentive, helpful, and friendly. He gave us his suggestions right out of the gate (the caprese, smoked wings, and brisket, if you're curious). He was busy---we are still in the middle of Devour Downtown, but we never felt rushed or or neglected. We also had two employees take the time to tell us there will be some patio seating out front, once it warms up. The only other thing you need to know about this place is that it is SMALL. It's long and narrow, which is fine, but know that, even in a booth, you may have people walking up against your table. Bottom line: We'll be back to try their regular menu, but we'll shoot for a non-peak time, in hopes of having a little breathing room.

Our first visit to Ember Urban last night in Fletcher Place. It exceeded our expectations and is more inventive that just a neighborhood place. It was packed thanks to Devour Downtown but we live a few blocks away so it will definitely be on our list. We both ordered from the price fixed menu. I had Chicken Mars and my husband had the half chicken. Both were wonderful. Just the right size portions. The desert was perfect small size so we didn't feel guilty each getting one. Hopefully this will stay on people's minds after Devour Downtown is over. It is a great addition to the Fletcher Place dining scene.

I agonized over how to review Ember, there were 2 things there that make me plan on my next visit, one is the wings. Really good, and the sauce that goes with it. YUMMO. the other thing is the staff and the owner. They noticed the fact that I did not like my food. I ordered a Cuban press, it was kind of Cuban, really salty and not at all pressed. Additionally my fries were really salty and not hot. My friends one said his was great (mac and cheese) one said pretty good (Italian beef) and one said packaged pasta and sauce on his. Our server was attentive and the owner is a hoot. I want her to succeed, because I like her. One last thing, the house sangria is dangerous! Way too delicious and it went down way too easy!

My husband and I had lunch here yesterday and were pleasantly surprised. It was a Wednesday at 1pm so a little late for the lunch rush, but the patio was empty so we stayed outside and never even checked out the interior. The waiter was super nice and attentive. The menu was the biggest surprise. Lots of fresh ingredients and salads. I had the BLT with avocado and mozzarella and my husband had the buffalo chicken sandwich. Both were very good and fresh and came with side salads. I was worried that it would be another burger joint, but it was much lighter than that. Looking forward to going again!

First off, the atmosphere and location of Ember Urban Eatery is amazing. We sat outside and it was beautiful! I ordered the Dean's burger. It was the BEST burger I have ever had. It came cooked perfectly and the toppings of crispy bacon, and thick gooey cheese were my favorite part. Great fries, great experience all together! We will be back soon!!!

This was my first trip to Ember Urban. It was part of DEVOUR Downtown. It is not fair to "judge" any restaurant during DEVOUR, but wanted to note some of the highlights. I was thankful we had reservations as being a DEVOUR week there was a line. Supposedly, this restaurant opened 4-6 weeks ago on the street level of a medium-rise condo building. We were immediately greeted at the door after parking in a FREE lot! That rarely happens downtown. Huge plus! Even though busy, everyone was smiling & very attentive. Our food had an amazing flavor. The health-minded portions are smaller than other restaurants. We did not leave with "doggie bags," but we did not leave hungry either. The smoked wings appetizer was yummy! We got four as part of the DEVOUR package, but I think there is usually 10-12 in an order. We had the flat-iron steak & brisket entrees. Both were delicious. The location is easy to get to between downtown and trendy Fountain Square on Virginia Avenue. We made an evening of it! Our preference has always been to support local businesses versus the chain restaurants. Definitely plan to return when it is not the craziness of DEVOUR!

I really do like this restaurant, the food is excellent and they have rotating specials which is very cool. Service is solid and have a good tap selecton. Now that the weather is nicer finally hanging out on the front patio is great. Definitely laid back place so don't come here expecting a wild scene of any sort more of a nice place to relax and have a nice dinner, few beers and conversation.

Because it's not pretentious, slow and filled with food dorks, this is the best new spot along Virginia Avenue. Good food, decent space and nice people working there. It's a keeper.

I had Dean's Hamburger with fries and a side of mayo for the fries. The burger and fries were cooked perfectly. I asked for the burger to be medium rare and the fries well. I will be back and I am looking forward to nice weather to enjoy the patio out front.

It's actually a cute little place, and the service was excellent. In a perfect world, the skin on the roasted chicken would be crispier, the breast meat would be moister, and the roasted potatoes would have been roastier. But I dug into it, and the zucchini side was delicious.

Great new restaurant in Fletcher Place. Nice ambiance - friendly staff. Brisket was delicious.

The brisket sandwich is delicious and tender. The slaw on top totally compliments the beef flavor. And the brioche bun pulls it all together. Definitely a new favorite sandwich for me and I'm typically a salad girl.

Met some friends at Ember's tonight and had great out door seating with a spectacular view of downtown. They have absolutely the best smoked chicken wings around. It was the first time for any of us to have them and now we want to go back tomorrow and have them again. They are so friendly and everything we have tried has been fantastic.

Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States. first time and had my fourteen yo and four yo in tow. found via yelp - filtered so all three of us would be happy - and we were not disappointed. the owner was our waitress and just made the entire experience great. she was laid back and friendly and just gave off good vibes. both girls loved their food (dean's burger and grilled cheese) and ate every bite. i had the black bean burger and it was so good. it was huge too which is a nice change from frozen things some places use. nice presentation. large water glasses. it has a sports bar feel but the food doesn't match the decor and style... it is so much better. good prices. it was about 30 for all of us to eat and it was worth it w/ the food and customer service. we will be back and next time i am bringing the hubby. large family restroom.

(4)Jon C.

(5)Kristin R.
DELICIOUS! Such a shame that we don't live in Indy or else we would frequent this place all the time. Perfect asparagus and the most tender brisket we have ever had. The customer service was impeccable too!
(5)Todd B.
This is the most underrated eatery in downtown Indy. The ambiance is limited, but the food is outstanding. The brisket sandwich I had there recently was one of the best lunches I've ever had. I recommend it to all people looking for the hidden gems of downtown Indy.
(5)Jeff B.
(3)Tiffany H.

Stopped in tonight to try their price fix devour downtown menu. Without a doubt, they have one of the best options on the devour list. 2 people, $35, 3 courses EACH. We had reservations for 730 and arrived right on time. We were quickly seated, told the drink specials, and given recommendations for the menu. 2 of us ordered a 3 pints beer, which was on special. We promptly put in our orders within 15 mins of being seated. The place can get a bit loud when it's full, which I only noticed because it took about 15-20 minutes for the appetizers to come out. Seemed odd because 3 of 4 people ordered salads and I had the smoked wings, which I assume they have going all day. Food: I had the smoked wings. They were unlike any wings I've ever had before. Full of flavor, not battered, not fried, not greasy. I touched one with a fork and it fell off the bone. Others tried some of the salads, and said they were good. I will comment that the "unwedge" was actually a normal wedge salad. Entrees: I had the roasted half chicken and everyone else had the 4 cheese pasta. The food came out, and one of the women in our party tried to move her plate of pasta. More on that later. The half chicken was cooked perfectly and came with a small portion of mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans (veg of the day). All was delicious. I tasted the pasta and it was also very good. Everyone enjoyed our entrees. Dessert: they were out of cheesecake, so everyone had to have the chocolate. Turned out that was ok because it was the best chocolate cake I've had in a while. Maybe ever. Not too sweet or rich. It was actually a layered cake with mouse and cake...similar to an Oreo concept. Service: We weren't warned when the food arrived, but the plates had been in the oven. The women mention earlier burned her finger badly and the manager and owner came to the table. They brought her ice, a package if burn ointment, and comped her whole meal. Completely made up for the problem and gave us the chance to learn more about the owners. They are trying to focus as much as possible on local Indiana business, everything from food sourcing to beer to artwork hanging on their store. Overall, great dinner at a great price. Even if you ate on the standard dinner menu, you'd find all the entrees are priced around $15. We will definitely be back.

After all, anything with a name that close to Amber is bound to be good. ;-)

From Chicago. Loved this place. Server was fantastic. Food was quick. May be one of the best tasting hamburger I've had in a long time. Strongly recommend.

(5)Spencer F.
It's an alright place. Simple burger and fries, correctly cooked (although the fries was over salted), and a cold draft beer to wash it down. No surprises.
(3)Kevin V.
(4)Amy M.
Wings were amazing! They had this Northern Alabama BBQ sauce that was so delicious! We also ordered a burger that was done perfect and had great seasonings. Our waiter John was very knowledgable about local brews! Overall, great spot, awesome food and superb service!
(5)Kristen P.
My friends and I really enjoyed stopping here in our way into Indy! Great food - I had the wings and beer cheese soup. It was delicious. And you DEFINITELY want the creme brûlée. I've eaten a lot of it in my time, and Ember tops the list.
(5)Kristin S.
(3)Eric M.
(3)Mario G.
(3)Kjirsten K.
(3)Peter P.
(4)Jerry W.
(3)Maggie I.
The wings... Delicious! (Get the wing sauce even if it's with your fries) The wedge... Outstanding! (The bluecheese is soooo good) Cannot wait to come back soon.
(5)Jordan B.
(5)Joan H.
(4)Wendy B.
Trying Ember for the first time during Devour Downtown. Great deal for lunch. Had the Ember Chicken sandwich. Very tasty, juicy and tender. Chocolate Cake was a little dry but very tasty.
(4)Ed D.
(4)Stephen V.
(4)Renee L.
Lunch today with 3 friends. 2 of us had the blackened fish sandwich, parts of it were cold and undercooked. Burger was not cooked as asked. 4 cheese pasta was missing the chicken. Epic fail, we won't be going back.
(1)Erin D.
(1)D. G.
Great hamburgers, friendly staff, good service, wide selection of good brews, and some killer live music... Oh, and an awesome view of downtown Indy! I'm going to try out their lunch scene next week.
(4)Christie M.
(5)Sunah K.
(3)Amanda W.
(3)Jeremy O.
(4)Trena T.

The service and staff is phenomenal. The owner Shelly is amazing - if you get a chance say hello. And, you MUST try the Urban Wings!!!!!!! #amazing

Nicely decorated inside - like maybe a mini Bru Burger. Serving up an array of quality burgers, sandwiches and salads - with some more substantial steaks and pasta at dinner.

Great experience here last night. The smoked wings are wonderful! Dean's Burger and Brisket sandwich were both top notch. We will be back!
