So the hubs asked me what I wanted to do to celebrate and I thought to myself, "Nothing says 'Happy Mother's Day' like a mug full o' Bloody Mary goodness and some $6 big ol' breakfast specials!" Off we went to Olly's... WOO-HOOO! Our server Josh was perfectly attentive, funny, and knew his stuff. He made our visit enjoyable for sure. Why should you go to Olly's? $4 Bloody Mary's and mimosas $3 Stoli every day $2 well drinks (rumor has it the pours are generous) Drag shows on the weekends Open 24 hours a day! Fairly priced food at all hours of the day Friendly staff! I think we have found a new spot... watch out, Olly's!

I feel like I came too early on a Friday night (roughly around 11PM/12AM). I had read all the reviews and wanted to try it out so my two other friends and I went. We weren't looking for anything crazy, just somewhere I could get a drink and eat a little snack and check out the infamous Olly's. The crowd was definitely older than I expected, my friends and I were probably the youngest ones there (21/22). I'll most likely be back, but definitely around 1AM instead of the "early" hours I mentioned.
(4)Lauren M.
This place is perfect for drinks. The pours are generous and the wells are two dollars. There's no place like this downtown. Go Wednesday or Sunday night for the karaoke, it's a blast!
(5)Shane M.
My gf and I go here often, mostly the day after a long night of drinking, and we are rarely disappointed. The services is nice and friendly, the prices are reasonable and the only problem we ever had with the food is when the eggs with our eggs Benedict were over cooked. Otherwise no complaints. I have heard that it gets a bit crazy late night but it is a gay bar so what would you expect. Oh, and the buckets with free condoms is fun.

I'm relatively new to indy and I'm glad I stumbled across this place. There aren't many signs so if you're driving down Illinois and blink you might miss it. Everyone is very friendly and conversational. The staff made sure we were taken care of and the other patrons all said hello and engaged in conversation with us. I had the peanut butter burger, it sounded a little weird to me but it was delicious! The drinks were super cheap but still delicious and the bartenders knew their stuff. The food and drink menu is pretty broad so there are options even for the pickiest of eaters. This is definitely a great place to grab a drink after work during the week, it has a very casual atmosphere. Apparently they are open 24 hours, which is also pretty cool in my opinion.
(4)Cher C.
Was looking for somewhere to grab a bite late at night and found out that this place was open 24 hours and located down the street from me. So excited to find that they had sloppy joes and tater tots on the menu. Everything seemed decently priced and they had many drinks on special. Definitely a surprise hole in the wall that I'd gladly return to!

Nothing better than a seedy dive bat at 3 in the morning after a night of drinking and random groppings. We came here on the recommendation of the bartender after the lights came on and we got the "you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here" Closing Time serenade. It's dirty, is gritty, and the people here are unique and full of character and that's exactly what makes it awesome! The food was SOOO good, but anything at 3am can seem that way under the haze of vodkas past. If you're open to new experiences during those predusk hours or are searching for that cozy place that feels like home, Downtown Olly's is the place to be.

So, I've learned in Indianapolis, you're either a fan of Olly's or Ivy's. Rarely do I find someone that visits both consistently. That being said, I'm usually an Ivy's fan, but I do occasionally head over to Olly's for karaoke-night on Sunday evenings. Food is good.. typical bar food. Drinks are cheaper than most places, and the bloody marys and long islands are pretty good. Servers are nice too. One of the only places open 24/7 for a late dinner or early breakfast.
(3)Jay B.
NOT a karaoke place....way bad sound and super small. TNT Karaoke at Monkey's Tale is where we go now. It was a BLAST. It's like a whole stage set-up thing with incredible sound and a zillion songs
(1)Eric G.
I went here with a friend who is an occasional patron of the bar. It is a pretty divey bar but that's part of its charm. Our "friendly" server was definitely a fun highlight and you get a sense that it's like Cheers where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came. The patrons around us were very lively in their discussions which was fun for us to listen to. I wasn't particularly hungry when we went so opted for their buffalo wings which definitely didn't seem to have "growth hormones" in them so it was just enough for me to enjoy. My friend had a burger and was convinced by our server to try the tater tots instead of the cottage cheese he was opting to order. I'm describing this way less funny than the whole exchange they had. They do have quite an extensive menu which was cool. I didn't get to see the drag show or listen to karaoke but I'm sure that's quite an enjoyable show.

A friend and I came by here on our way home from the Yelp Bold and Beautiful event because I had read reviews about their $2 well drinks. Being the poor person I am, this was like heaven. "What... I can go somewhere and afford more than one drink?! Yes please!" This is a gay bar, as many have stated. So be prepared to talk to a lot of lovely individuals while you are at Downtown Olly's, and be prepared to possibly see a few drag queens. I absolutely adored everyone we talked to that evening, as they all treated us like family. Which is wonderful considering the space is very intimate, and it'd be awkward if no one was friendly. The atmosphere is great if you want to be able to actually talk to who you are with, yet still have the opportunity to engage in conversation with other people. We only had the chips and salsa, so I can't say what the food quality is. I will say the service is great, the atmosphere is lovely, and the drinks are cheap! I'm also fairly certain that they have their own parking lot on the side, which I didn't notice until we were leaving... but if my eyes were correct this is a huge advantage! Although there was still plenty of street parking as well. This will be on my "frequented bars" list in no time!

This is probably my favorite place in Indy. You won't find a more affordable place to eat or drink. It's very accepting, too. Just because most of the people there are gay doesn't mean everyone is. It's the favorite spot for most of my straight friends, too. The atmosphere is just so laid back. Mix that with amazing food and drinks at an affordable price, and you have one heck of a spot to relax with your friends!
(5)Kimmi M.
While I wouldn't go as far to say this is a dive bar, I'd go as far to say this is the most economically sound bar in the Indy Metro area. $2 wells. 24 hours a day. I can't. I almost cried from happiness. The menu is huge, and everything was delicious. I have some artichoke pasta that warmed my soul on a blustery winter morn, er, afternoon. It was definitely afternoon. The service was great, and I was in good company.
(5)Beth W.
Been here several times. Mostly late hours of the night--or wee hours of the morning. It's a 21 and older place. Good place to people watch. Parking is on the street. Seating is crowded. The place is always packed. I have ordered food a few times there and it's right every time.
(4)Thomas D.
Cheap drinks and a very open attitude about everybody in life. Downtown olly's is a must visit if gay and gay friendly people. Ask about different events they have there for entertainment. From shows to euchre top karaoke. The good is good and the drinks are delicious.
(4)William Aaron K.
When we first directed to go there we were just like "meh, what's out there?" But we walked there and was a little unsure at first, but then when we started ordering the AMFs from the friendly bartender things got really fun. The other people at the bar started talking to us and we were just having a great time. Got hammered, ate great food, had great service and overall had a pretty good time. So, now I come in here often and get the sloppy tots, but the one thing that I wish is that the bathroom stall had a door. It would be pretty tight.
(5)Connor M.
If you're looking for a great place that is open late for your food desires on the weekends (or for that matter any day) Ollie's is the place to go. It is open 24/7 and makes for a great spot during after hours on the weekends when you simply want a nice Tequila and OJ and Chicken nuggets as a nightcap. It's extremely cheap, but off the beaten path, so grabbing an uber is a must. Haven't been here during normal hours so I can't say (or imagine) if it's legitimate.
(3)Lisa E.
A couple friends asked me to meet up for a drink. It's a retro dive gay bar, I had dinner plans in the area with my husband and family later. I had a blast at Olly's, I can honestly say I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Everyone is super friendly, the service is outstanding and everything is reasonably priced. It was nice to catch up with friends and I will meet them there again in the future I'm sure.
(4)Ryan D.
I can't say enough about this place! After a fun night of being out on the town everyone wants to find a place for a quick bite that is a good price and tastes good! This is the place. The bar is huge. Lots of places to sit around the bar. The "dinning room" isn't that large so you should find a place to sit at the bar. I have had the French toast, chili fries, and omelette! They are very good! The server who waited on us was Shelly. She was very nice. It can get very crowded in there! You have to be willing to deal with some of the people who can be a bit nuts but that is the charm! The best part - $2 drinks! They actually make a very good Bloody Mary! There are also drag shows, not bad! They work hard for the money so you better treat them right!
(4)K B.
I love this place. Food and drinks are very cheap. I love eating here because they have a gigantic menu (although the late night menu starts at 11), and you can get almost anything you have a craving for. Chicken tenders? Sure. Personal pizza with white sauce and artichoke? Sure thing! They have a revolving door of servers, but a few of them are gems.
(4)Kelley R.
Love ollies for lunch! Such great service! Great good and get you in and out quick! Really nice to have a place to go downtown that is quick, good and fun!
(5)Lane P.
We stopped in at Downtown Olly's after an evening out downtown: the place was packed which was definitely a good sign. Thankfully, there were two seats at the bar with our names on them. We were quickly greeted by a friendly bar tender and ordered up drinks. We also both ordered an omelet. Food took a little while to come out. The omelets were good, not great, but very acceptable. Overall, a very decent spot to stop for a late night bite.
(4)Patrick M.
This is definitely one of my favorite bars in Indianapolis. Not only do they have stiff $2 well drinks every day of the week, which is reason enough to come in, but their food is great too. They definitely have something for everyone with lots of options ranging from salads to burgers to pizzas, and so on, which are all pretty reasonably priced. I've had a little bit of most everything on the menu at one point or another and have never been disappointed. It also has a pretty fun and light atmosphere, and I've always had great service every time I've been there.
(5)Chris J.
Decent food if you are eventually acknowledged and served at the bar. Have been on several occasions and have sat at bar for 15 or more minutes before asked if I need something. If you are not a regular or local, don't expect to be waited on.
(1)Hunter S.
I just moved to town in October, and Olly's has already become my standard hangout. The food is decent, great prices, and the most of the staff is a joy to interact with. Definitely check it out.
(5)Brittany S.
Turns out Ollie's has a crazy-fun karaoke night on Sundays. The place is packed, the song list is ginormous and the bloody marys are cheap ($4). If you're lucky, they'll get a few Disney classic songs in while there (Hello there, Mermaid, Ursala + friends).
(4)Lance B.
This is my favorite Dive bar in Indianapolis. It's always a very diverse crowd and a perfect place to bring your out of town friends for Breakfast after you've had a long night of drinking in the city... yes, bring them at 3am when you're barely able to speak and the excellent wait staff will serve you up some amazingly sobering breakfast! (My favorite is the Second Base with Fruit). They also have SUPER inexpensive well drinks... only $2! And they are NOT weak on the pours... My friends and I make it a point to come to Ollie's every week for dinner (they have an excellent new menu) and drinks. For dinner, I would recommend The Downtowner Burger or the Peanut Butter Burger... so good.
(5)Skip M.
lonnie is perhaps the worst bar tender in the city... a completly and utter asshole...seedy seedy seedy. ..what happened to being nice n a good mood. If u dislike the public that much u shouldn't b a bartender or at least not n gay bar.. won't go back..
(1)Jamie T.
Took a group of 5 and we all agreed it would be hard to get a better breakfast for the price. Also $3 u call it's and $4 mimosas and Bloody Mary's. Friendly service too. Crazy decor and great music playing.
(5)Rick W.
There are other bars in Indy, but none of them treat me as well as the Staff at Downtown Ollys, They pour a mean drink, acknowledge and talk with you, and make you feel welcome. It is not a cruise bar, it is one where you come have some of the best 2 dollar cocktails in town and hangout with your friends.
(5)Nicole M.
Awesome little place on Illinois st. $2 well drinks and friendly wait staff. Small dining area but its cozy and everyone treats you like family so its not bad if you are a people person. Had a great first experience and plan to go back and explore the menu!
(4)Kyle G.
I love the food here and used to stop in for dinner at least once a week. I moved to St. Petersburg, Florida one year ago and went back for lunch on a recent visit home. They are still cooking up some good grub! The staff is friendly. The drinks are strong. And did I mention the prices - you can eat and drink on a budget. I miss this place!
(5)Tyler H.
Was visiting for a Pacer's game and we met up for dinner with some friends. This wasn't the first choice, but I'm certainly glad the other place was closed. When I walked in and discovered it was a local bar (a little on the dive side), I wasn't feeling too good about dinner. Our friend said That he liked to order the breaded tenderloin sandwich, so that's what we ordered. We had fries as the side. Our server was very friendly. Three of us ordered tenderloin while one ordered chicken fingers and fried green tomatoes. My partner and I were amazed at how large the tenderloin was and it was very well seasoned. the fries were just ok. Our friend said that the chicken was good, but he didn't really enjoy the tomatoes. The meal was extremely inexpensive. We were happy that our friends suggested this place. I'd certainly be a regular if I lived there.
(4)Mak J.
A gay bar with breakfast food? Heaven is a place in Indianapolis. My boyfriend and I love coming here late night for drunken breakfast food and fun with the LGBT community. These are a few of my favorite things. I literally feel like Leslie Knope when I am here. The Bulge meets JJ's Diner.
(5)Sara L.
Bleu Cheese Cheesesticks. There, I've said it all. I really feel like I could end my review there, but I won't. Olly's has awesome drinks on the cheap, pull tabs, an awesome juke box, a lively and very social atmosphere with patrons mingling about all the different tables, getting to know each other. They have Bleu Cheese Cheesesticks, for cripes sake! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM A PLACE! it's fried sticks of bleu cheese. god, just go there already. it's amazing.
(4)Sean C.
I found this place via Yelp reviews and I'm stoked that I did. As you may already know, its open 24 hours (at least on the weekends) and they have a big menu. It is a dive-bar atmosphere but a very clean, pleasant, friendly dive bar atmosphere. I felt very comfortable here. They were very busy but well-staffed and the servers/bartenders were polite and efficient. i had the apple crisp salad with grilled chicken and it was amazing. Fresh greens, walnuts and pecans, awesome dressing. Really a great salad for under $9.00. It's not quite in any of Indy's well known destination districts, but I would make a special trip to eat here again.
(5)Lady K.
Olly's is a small bar, full of fun people, served good food, and had great staff members when I was here on 3/15/14. It's open 24 hours a day, but no alcohol served past 3am. The performance area is too small for the great talent that performs there (drag queens and male performers). The food served is great but depending on what you order- portions can be small. This is not a dance club, there's just not enough room but you can do karaoke and play pop music. It's a come as you are, anything goes, let you hair down, with great staff, chill and eat great food place. I will be going back.
(4)Derrick B.
You know that feeling you get when you find money in your pocket?! Take that feeling and amplify it by 50. That was the sense of gratification I received after discovering Olly's. With the lack of quality breakfast locations as well as late-night (emphasis on LATE) dining in Indianapolis, it is shocking that more people have not heard of this gem. While the food isn't anything special, the atmosphere is absolutely incredible. As a professional people watcher, you are certain to find the types of people to keep you entertained. More importantly, the people give you the license and the freedom to be yourself. The price + food + atmosphere = a great dining experience. If it's 3am and you're looking for a place to absorb some of that late night drinking, this is your spot. Thank me later.
(4)Angie A.
Olly's is the Zen Master of the after hours deep fryer connoisseur. As previously stated they have BLUE CHEESE cheese sticks, and if that's not enough for the deep fried foodie's pallet, they have Banana Foster bites. For a well rounded fried meal add their spring rolls, their sesame sauce is out of this world. Plus the 3am crowd here is something right outta Oz. From Drag Queens to Goths there's someone for everyone to stare at while waiting for their grub. OPEN 24HRS THURSDAY - SUNDAY!!!!!!
(4)Elizabeth C.
I've never been here for any other reason than to attain sobriety, but it is a very nice place to do that.
(4)Hula B.
never a bad meal or bad experience. its a bit smokey in there and it is a bit of a dive. needs new bar stools!!! but the food is good cafe/bar food. service is friendly and so are the other patrons. some recent updates include outlets under the bar for your laptop/smart phone which is great. i heard under-bar coat hooks are coming for winter finally - yeah!
(4)Bill S.
Great service and fun patrons. Free poker night on Thursdays are a blast!
(4)Jacob B.
I've been there twice now, and this place is just plain awesome. They're not terribly big, but they have a nice dining area that is somewhat separated from the bar. They're open 24 hours starting Thursdays at 9am and stay open until Sunday night. GREAT food, AMAZING service. I will be back the next time I'm in Indy.
(4)John W.
ok so heres the scoop, we had heard all the buzz so we went to check them out (Saturday night around midnight 10/27) well by the time we got here they were well into Karaoke, (dreadful) typical drunk bar karaoke with bad sound system. But lets move on to the real reason we went here which was for the food. The only place to sit was at the bar, i think if you are going to run a 24 hour restaurant then the seating area with tables should be reserved for just that, but NOT one person who was at any of those tables were eating, not sure if they were drinking either, seemed to be just hanging out. So we had to belly up to the bar, at first there was only one bartender there some furry dude with no shirt on, not once did he acknowledge us, thankfully another guy came along who appeared to serving as a bar back, he got our drinks and some menus, he was a really nice guy. There were slow periods of our service but since he seemed to be carrying the bar he did a great job. We ordered some sort of smothered tater tots as a starter, they had cheese and sloppy joe meat on top. Not bad, they were a little skimpy with the sloppy joe sauce seeing as how we paid 6 bucks for them. I ordered the Green flag plate i think is what it was called, it was a half order of biscuits and gravy and i got bacon with it, and it came with some sort of home fries. They were all pretty tasty. I am going to go ahead and tell you this is not stuff cooked from scratch but it was still good. I am pretty sure my bacon was the microwaved kind, but hey at midnight you take what you can get. my friend got the chicken salad sandwich and potato salad, he said it was good, i would not have been so brave as to order something like that from a bar and that late at night. He did have to add some mustard to the potato salad but he still said it was good. While i would not drive the distance that we drove just to try them again, i wouldnt avoid them either, there are a few things they need to work on, the biggest beef i have is letting lounge lizzards camp out at the tables meant for people to eat at. if your not eating you shouldnt be sitting there is my take. Seemed that drag queens were serving on the floor and i dont know if they are always drag queens or if this was for halloween, there were several in costumes so i am not sure. As i said we would go back but would not make a special trip just to eat here. The guy who waited on us (barback) at least i hope thats what he was, he was pretty hot. So we lucked up there. i took a star away for portions, and lack of seating and delay in service. They were not that busy in my opinion. was shocked they had no hamburgers!!
(3)Michael C.
Second best Gay Bar in Indy. Good drinks and service. And the food is pretty amazing, considering it is a bar. Give it a try! Look for Johnny behind the bar, a very good mixologist.
(4)Benjamin H.
A nice alternative to Peppy Grill for late night breakfast. The food is nothing to rave about, but it does the job when you're not quite sober. The fact that you can order and eat breakfast at the bar is very pleasing to me.
(3)Jeremy B.
I came two different Friday nights for the $2 cocktails. Man they are strong. Fun drag show. It's very smoky. Good to go before heading out for the rest of the night.
(4)Tracy H.
Great for late night bites after a night of drinking. I just wish they had pancakes.
