Diabetics at Whataburger

Stopped in for a quick burrito, to go. It's wasn't the best or the biggest burrito I've had, but wasn't bad. Just a tad pricey at 5 plus bucks for a burrito ala carte. It's an above average "burrito-ville" for the Indy area, thus the 4th star. But I was really on the fence... considering the mostly average food and the price. In and out in just a couple of minutes, so they got thar going fot them.

Have had this place a couple times while working in Indy. It's cheap, fast and they make it however you like !!

I love these hole in the wall restaurants! I've had better, but this place is definitely a well recommended joint to try. I think it was probably less than three minutes walking in and then out the door with hot delicious food.

This place offers a good lunch at the right price. Affordable. It's a good escape from work during lunch.

It was okay. I have had better, and more authentic, Mexican food. If given the choice to come back here or go elsewhere, I would go elsewhere.

Didn't get what we ordered and had to leave. Carne asada was good. Not worth the price! Was very upset with our experience and I'm still on the hunt for some real GOOD Mexican food...

Great place. Simple delicious food. Real customers too, not suits who think it's cool to be in a hole in the wall.

Anyplace with a burrito for 5 bucks that's this big and tasty deserves 5 stars. I've had the pastor and the steak, and they are both fantastic. The meat is tender, juicy, and flavorful. The fillings are all excellent. I'll be coming back to try the chicken burrito next. Then the gyro. Then tacos. Then fried chicken. I'm glad I don't live too close to here, or I would be a whale.

Was in the mood for some authentic Mexican food so we decided to give this place a try. I have to say we were far from pleased with the quality of the food. We tried the pork taco, Nacho supreme and steak torta. The taco was very greasy and lacked flavor. The nachos were decent but the torta was very skimpy on the meat and the lettuce on it was wilted. We won't be eating there again. I think we will stick to the Tamale Place or El Meson the next time we're in the mood for Mexican (which won't be for a long time thanks to the Burrito Joint)!!!

Talk about an authentic hole in the wall place, I moved here from California 15 yrs ago, this was the first Mexican restaurant and one of the only 2 that existed here in Indianapolis when I first arrived. I've been coming here since! their food is great, authentic, fast service, feels and tastes like back home! The guys are awesome, funny, and they have their own soccer team and always have some conversation going on with everyone eating in, I feel like I'm eating at my moms when I'm here lol not the best looking establishment, but definitely worth trying out! Prices are beyond reasonable, portions are pretty big, and on weekends they have delicious Menudo and Pozole!!!

I absolutely love this joint. They have the best steak torta and the burritos and tostadas are great, can't beat the prices either

Had the burrito suiza. I think it's one of the better burritos in town. They are a good size for the price and freshly made in a diner-like environment more than a taqueria. Will go back and try the fried chicken on the menu. The staff was funny and friendly.

Small place we happen to stumble upon. Had pork taco with onion and cilantro. He had chicken taco. Liked that it wasn't super salty and the marinate for the pork was really good. Needed lime and I didn't ask for any. Staff was very friendly and noticed that counter lady addressed regulars by name. Dining area full. Would return to try a torta next time in this state/city.

ask for a gyro burrito, they'll do it..piping hot french fries.. i want em to make a burrito w the fries inside, maybe next time. they have horchata, hibiscus drink (nice) they serve a lengua too, which reminds me of prime rib meat in a burrito,, i like it!

  • Telissa C.

This place is pretty decent. The decor isn't great but the food is pretty good. The horchata is excellent! We live close so it's great to stop by and get carry out food. My husband really likes the gyros. Yes gyros at a burrito joint. It works! The tacos are authentic and well seasoned. The in house taco sauce is a bit boring so I usually skip that. :)

This place has awesome food. I have been there twice and got burritos both times because it was too good to try anything else! Service is fast and friendly. All at a great price (foot long(ish) burritos for $5!). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick and cheap lunch. Just remember to bring cash. They do not accept cards or checks.

This place has pretty good food. I have only had the Burrito King and the Gyro, but those alone were delicious. The Gyro has some kind of ground up pork, Im guessing. They serve it piping hot to you with sauce, onions and sliced tomatoes on it! The King Burrito is my favorite. I have had it with the chicken and steak. You get to choose from chicken, beef or steak when you order, and it is stuffed with everything you can imagine! I do wish they had guacamole though! They have a sauce In a squeeze bottle that they give you when your food is done.. I'm not quite sure what kind of pepper it is made of but it is not hot at all and is tastes so good. On the other hand they give you a jalapeno mixed medley when your food is ready also, and it is quite HOT! Too hot for me! Everyone else loved it though. They really get your food done quick too, I think the most I have waited was maybe three minutes tops.

  • Casey R.

This place is awesome! The food is really good and the prices aren't too bad as well. I had a steak burrito and it was truly one of the best and very authentic! I would stop by this place again in a heartbeat! It is a bit small though so be prepared to wait a bit.

Yummy street style tacos. Simple and good. Only take cash.

  • JR J.

Small little place that you probably would pass on exterior alone, but it is absolutly worth going into and trying something on their menu. My personal favorite is the Pork #2 Tacos. They perfectly season the pork with some great spices and heat, and then throw some cilantro and onion and a little lime juice. Its a great meal at a small little place. Worth giving a place that has some character a chance.

  • Jonathan M.

Burritos and tacos are pretty good. Not the best I have had from a taqueria. I do love the hot peppers and carrots that come with each dish though. I would go back if around this p,ace but it is not somewhere to go out of my way to eat.

The most authentic Mexican restaurant on the westside. Although the food is bland it is seasoned properly.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
