We recently went to BL&T with a group before a Colts game and were pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews here. After arriving earlier than the rest of our party, we headed to the bar so that my guy could check out the beer selection. The bartender was incredibly friendly and offered samples on some of the beers that he was unfamiliar with prior to buying. She was very attentive and friendly while we sat at the bar. When our group arrived, we were escorted by a very friendly staff to our table. The decor was very modern and the restaurant was very clean. Menu options were diverse and the price point was extremely affordable considering the location, quality, and portion size. Our waiter Wayne was friendly and informative. One of our group had read a recent review asking about sides, but it wasn't even necessary to ask since he informed us the normal side was fries, but that other options were available. for substitution. We all ordered a variety of items and everyone was impressed with the quality of the food. The Cubano, and Bacon Cheese Melt were favorites, and my Old McDonald Bacon Cheeseburger was fantastic. I definitely think that if this restaurant promotes itself appropriately it could become a staple in the area. I know we'll be back!

Excellent Service. Chef catered to me as if he were sitting at my table. This place quite possibly has the best Chef/Menu in town. Awesome food and great service from Caylee!

My east coast work team was in town to visit and I wanted to treat them to a unique experience they'd only find in Indianapolis. Unfortunately, our visit was the stuff of reality TV and gave them a really bad impression about the city. Despite the fact the place was nearly empty--there was one table and one guy at the bar--we waited 1.5 hours for our entrees. The wait was particularly odd because two of the entrees were salads. We had put in an appetizer when we first sat down but gave up after asking about it two times; it never showed up and we had to ask for it to be removed from our receipt when the bill came. When our food did eventually come there were only two entrees for three people--the other order was never entered. We waited another 45 minutes before eating so our friend would get her entree and --- no joke --- our waitress brought out the wrong order. Eventually, we had to divide the two entrees that had sat on our table nearly an hour among the three of us, and I promised to make it up to them somehow. Our waitress was overwhelmed even though the place was empty and cried when she realized she only put in two entree orders, once more when she brought out the wrong order the second time, and then again when we had to remind her the appetizer never came and had to be taken off the bill. We felt bad for her and she was genuinely sorry, so we still tipped her generously. However, the experience was so awful, that I had to send my coworkers an apology email and asked that they not let it color their opinion of Indianapolis. Needless to say, I will never go there again.

We have been waiting to try BL&T since they opened and since they were on Groupon this was our chance. After being greeted by an employee on the street he walked us down a steep staircase to the basement of the building. We were seated by a girl at the bottom of the stairs. She also took our drink order. A minute or so later another waitress walked up and tried to take our drink order. We told her the other girl was helping us. Since this was the first time we had been there we had some question. I don't think she could answer any of them without asking someone else. We are ordered. I got Old McDonald BLT. Kyle got chicken tacos. And my mom got the Chicken salad sandwich. About 20 mins later the food finally came, oh and we were the only people in the restaurant. We got 1 BLT and 2 chicken tacos??? We told her that we didn't order 2 tacos and she said we did. After she asking a few more question my mom finally got her chicken salad sandwich. The food was okay. My fries were cold and the meat on my BLT was so tough I could not bite thru it. Kyle's tacos had pieces of skin and fat in it. Plus he bit into a bone. Mom was okay with her sandwich, her only complaint was there was not enough on it. The waitress brought our bill and brought out 3 checks. I had already told her one bill cause we had a Groupon. Needless to say we will not be back.

But... Five of us went for the Devour Downtown. Various appetizers (sorry - late in writing this and I don't remember everything everyone ordered) in addition to the devour downtown option. Two people ordered from the menu. We all liked our food and all of us want to go back. But... Service was good. Our waitress was brand new and was having some obvious "new waitress" issues. The trainer she was working with was doing great. But... The location looks great. But... So, why do I keep putting "But...?" Well, every time we talked about how good it was there was always a "But, ..." that followed. Location is nice. But, the bathroom was filthy and when I mentioned it to the chef who was working on his laptop in the restaurant he just looked at me and mumbled something that was not all that positive. My dates dish was really good. But, one of the sides was served tepid when it should of been hot. My friends appetizer (knuckles) were a hit. But, they were too salty.

Any place that serves roasted bone marrow is great. I happen to hate that stuff. aquired taste. Love everything else though. Do the bone marrow shoot with your drinks. It adds flavor!!
(5)Kay J.
went there today in the middle of the afternoon and no one was there. service was pretty decent, but the fries came out completely soaked in grease and were disgusting. chicken was slightly pink, greasy and not too good. gumbo had two tiny pieces of meat in it and was pretty average at best. I think the cook was just lazy since we were the only ones there. it's too bad because the space is really neat and had a good vibe. I'd turn this into a club (which is what it looks like it's intended for) and forget the food. I won't be eating here but perhaps imbibing sometime. save yourself the cash and eat somewhere else!

Turkey leg almost too tough to cut off bone. Cold mashed potatoes. Where was the bacon?

You thought you knew what the letters B, L, and T stood for, but you have no idea... Went here for the first time last night with some girlfriends and I must say, this place is quite the gem. You enter and head down two small flights of stairs and you're suddenly taken to this underground, dimly lit, sexy, and sassy restaurant. The appropriately named Bacon Legs & Turntables, this restaurant prides itself in its unique menu options which include selections such as Blackened Gator and Crispy Frog Legs. We also indulged in their 'I Ain't Afraid of No Ghost' appetizer which you think is going to be the usual chips and salsa, but this baby comes with guacamole and ghost pepper salsa and queso! The salsa was great, but the queso was a bit too hot for us ladies. Oh, and they also serve breakfast all night long - the perfect ending to a night of libations! This is definitely the place to go if you're on the prowl for a hot date night locale. And, if you want to know where all the hot men are in Indy, they are sitting at this bar! Go get em ladies! :) They have a nice bar area with TV screens and a very cool area housing booths. Treat yo self and head down to BL&T sooner rather than later!

Looking for a new place to celebrate my birthday (with my husband and son)... this looked like a fun restaurant, so we gave it a shot. It was a beautiful evening, and parking within a half-block was easy, so we were already in a good mood. We were greeted very warmly on the street and escorted to the basement-level restaurant... although a very fun decor (up-tempo music, fun colorful furniture and lighting, etc.)... we were the ONLY ones there at 6:15pm on a Tuesday. Weird. (we were there for a total of an hour, and only two other tables came in... each with their own server) The menu looked fantastic! The concepts were interesting and sounded delicious. Sadly we were not as impressed once the food arrived. The Cubano sandwich was made with crusty French bread that overtook the ingredients inside leaving the overall impression very bland; and the Creole Shrimp and Andoille Mac & Cheese had absolutely *NO* spice whatsoever... it was just plain ol' mac & cheese with four good-sized shrimp and 3 thin slices of flavorless sausage (for $19??!!!). Our son gave the BBQ Bacon Cheese burger a thumbs-up (he's 13) and we all agreed the fries were above average. Service was borderline ridiculous (with the exception of the warm welcome)... It took about 10 minutes to get two craft beers on tap (remember, we were the only ones in the place), our food took about 20 mins which was acceptable, but when the food was served we asked for water... and it wasn't brought until after we were finished eating. Once we asked for a check and to-go box, it took almost 15 minutes for her to return... she was just hanging out behind the bar... not sure what was going on there. One of the biggest service turn offs was when we ordered the two sandwiches, it wasn't clear that there was a side served with them, so we ordered a side of fries to share. When the meals were served, each sandwich had its own side... plus she brought an extra side... instead of explaining to us in the first place that the sandwiches already came with fries. We mentioned this to her when she served the food and she just shrugged... literally shrugged and walked away. We didn't touch the extra fries at all. So for three meals, two beers, and a soda... $75 before tip. We were sorely disappointed in our experience and will not return. A quick positive note: No DJ tonight, which was fine. They had music videos running, and we quickly realized we could log into a website via smartphone and request videos for free. My son loved this bit of surprise entertainment!

I'm not sure why the ratings are low here...furthermore I'm not understanding why the buzz for this place isn't bigger.. this place is awesome. First I love the interior. A very nice contemporary yet cozy atmosphere. ..great place to have dinner before heading for a night out of town with friends or hell even better after a concert or a night out about or after a football or basketball game...the portions are large. .price...mmmmm mid-range. You must have $20 if ya want to eat solo!! The bar was expansive...great choices. I had the BBQ shrimp and spunach/mixed green & strawberry salad. It came in a HUGE bowl. ..but the salad was not THAT huge..but the flavor was good. The menu is extensive with items like Jerk Dog with scotch bonnet drizzle and lamb/duck bacon Mac & cheese.. Most of the men ordered burgers (they had a variety) and the concensus was the burgers were really good. All in All BL&T is a very nice place with good music and even better food, to come ad a group or host a bachelor/Bachelorette party or birthday party or graduation party. ..ok u get the point...come one come all..it's worth it.

Devour Downtown is like a foodie's Christmas and I always try to take advantage of it! This week myself and a couple of friends decided to try Bacon Legs and Turntables; its been on my list for a while. I haven't heard a ton of buzz about the place since it opened but decided to give it a shot. We were greeted by hostesses that almost looked annoyed that we were there, one escorted us to the dining room which is pretty much the basement of the building. The atmosphere and decor were super trendy and attractive but this place was EMPTYYYY. Our server (who seemed to have just woken up) kept coming to our table in 15 minute intervals which made it hard to decide on food since we all had questions. She told us the wrong price on their craft beer special and was very little help to us when we were trying to decide. We split the shrimp corndogs which were tasty but didn't remind me of a corndog. I got the Old McDonald Bbq Bacon Burger which was just ok. My friends and I won't be returning to this place but I'm hoping these reviews help them turn things around, there's nothing worse than a struggling new restaurant.

It almost feels unfair to review BLT on my recent lunch visit. See, they don't have their fryers, so there are no legs--part of their namesake. They have a limited menu and some interesting options. I went for a salad and added turkey (it was good quality deli style slices). That thing was HUGE! It was easily the size of a salad I would offer up at a dinner party for 4-6. I couldn't eat the whole thing. Most of the people in my party got some sort of BLT and they were hugely impressed. That's what I'll be ordering next time. Loads and loads of bacon on thick slices of Texas toast. Some even had duck bacon. The servers are a bit scantily clad, meaning that I probably wouldn't bring any big groups of ladies there, but it was a fine stop for a work lunch (where most of my party were guys). This is downstairs and easy to miss from the street. So look for the ginormous owning the protrudes from the building and take those stairs down. I'll update once I return to see how the menu changes once their menu is finalized--or if I get to stop by to see how this translates into the turntables part.

I go for the comfort food and it is top notch. The burger, the grilled cheese, and the soup are at the top of my list. Add on the French fries and a cocktail or two and and you'll be in comfort food heaven.
(5)Laura P.
Ohhh man soo much Bacon! Decently priced and since they are new all the staff is really working hard to make a good impression. Did I mention the food was delicious.

I went back in January and I actually like the set up. They were doing their soft opening at the time. The food was really good but what I truly came in for at that time were for the legs...I missed the grand opening (whenever that was...if they made it public...I have no idea) but the staff was nice. I loved the potato salad...very different from what I'm used to. I will go back again when the menu is complete to give it a mre fair chance...to be continued

Grand Opening: Entry via the red carpet, short walk down the stairs, and into a vibrant and energized atmosphere where all staff conveyed the attitude that they were happy to be there and happy that you were joining them, was our initial introduction to BL&T! We arrived around 10 PM; DJs were in the DJ booth, music videos were displayed on multiple TVs throughout the restaurant and bartenders were behind a long bar handling their business. This, coupled with the trendy decor, created a great atmosphere. We received a friendly welcome from the hostess as she immediately showed us to our table. Lo and Bree (hope I have the names right), our servers, were outstanding! They were very familiar with the menu and gave good meal suggestions. And yes, they do have a fully functioning kitchen with a full menu now since the grand opening has occurred. Following our server's suggestion, we ordered the Shrimp Corn Dogs for an appetizer, and we were glad we did. They are jumbo shrimp that have been battered, fried, and skewered on a stick. The plate on which they arrive is graced with alternating zigzags of spicy mustard and balsamic reduction, which provides a pleasant and eye catching display. They had great flavor, were nicely fried, and the spicy tang delivered by the mustard and balsamic made it an interesting dish that I would order again. For my entree, I ordered the I'm not a Bum I'm a Jerk Hog Legs, which are jerk hog shanks. Wow! The legs were spicy, succulent, and so tender they fell off the bone. Additionally, they sat on a Sweet Potato/Plantain Mash and the entire dish was finished with a Dark Rum Scotch Bonnet Drizzle. The mash was mild and creamy, and the Dark Rum drizzle definitely complemented it. Simply, this dish was DELICIOUS! My husband ordered the Pork Tenderloin and fries and was generally pleased with it. The one drawback he mentioned was that it was too thick for his liking, and not pounded thin enough. I did taste it and thought it was well seasoned. Presently, he is on the search for the best Tenderloin in Indy so it is hard to get him to order anything else if it is on the menu. Unfortunately, we did not order dessert because we were stuffed. This was an excellent dining experience and I'm sure that BL& T will be a restaurant destination that I will visit often. In fact, I have visited a second time with my daughters. It was early in the afternoon so the vibe wasn't as energetic and the DJs were not present, however, the staff was still as nice and helpful as the first time I visited, and music videos played on the TVs. My daughters ordered the Kitchen Sink Pot Pie and the Smoked Turkey Legs with Bacon Mashed Potatoes. The servings were large enough that they were able to take some home. Both were very pleased with their choices and had no complaints. I was just in the mood for appetizers that day, so since they have Roasted Bone Marrow, I finally took advantage of the opportunity to try it. I also ordered the Chips and Salsa, that is accompanied by guacamole and mild and spicy salsas. Unfortunately, I was not too crazy about the Bone Marrow, but that is not to say they didn't prepare it correctly because the texture seemed to be nice and creamy, which is what I've read about it. I believe this is a dish that either you like it or you don't, however, I did enjoy the toasted bread that accompanied it. The chips, salsa and guacamole were good, but I will say that the chips need a bit more salt. Finally, our server made a great drink suggestion, Red Mimosas. They had nice flavor, which included a mild tartness. To sum this all up, I love BL&T and plan to keep coming back. I plan to try some of their breakfast items and will definitely try some of the other legs on the menu. The creative and great tasting dishes, the energetic vibe and the super friendly staff have earned five stars!

I'm usually not a fan of theme restaurants, but BL&T keeps it real classy. As the name says, BL&T is all about bacon (the perfect food), legs (turkey, chicken, frogs, women's) and turntables (live DJ). I was here during the soft-opening so the menu was limited (no legs as the necessary kitchen equipment hadn't been installed yet). However, bacon was available and was amazing. The Old McDonald BLT is the way to get the full bacon experience (with a side of bacon potato salad). The thick slab bacon (lamb, duck, pig) was cooked to a perfect crispness and was complemented by the house mayo. The potato salad wasn't too bacon-forward and had a touch of horseradish to kick it up a notch. Service was fast and friendly which is a surprise (the fast part anyway) for a new restaurant. The all-female waitress brigade wore short shorts to keep with the "legs" theme. But don't think this is another Hooters wannabe. The leggy waitresses fit right into the theme and aren't to be considered the main attraction. Décor is all done up in black, white, and red and is befitting a lounge atmosphere. There is an elevated DJ booth by the entrance (at the bottom of the staircase) which is where the turntables come in. There are several flat-screen TVs around the restaurant (kid-friendly) and bar area on which old R&B music videos were playing. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience at BL&T and the prices were reasonable ($10 for my sandwich and side). It's just a stones' throw from my office so I foresee many a lunch date here.

Yes, we went on a groupon, but the food and service will have us back on our own dime. You have to search for the main door it is between two other restaurants, its kind of hidden, then you go down a full flight of stairs into the actually restaurant. Its loud and a little dark, but you get a kind of club feel from it. We sat in the bar area in a booth, it was nice. Had a few drinks, which were on happy hour special, with our appetizers Seared Tuna was ok, spicy but over cooked, Shrimp corn dogs were awesome! For main course Hubby had Breakfast Burrito, HUGE, and very tasty with all the fixens you could need. I had the pulled pork wedge salad, it was also huge and tasty, only complaint was that it was served on a tiny plate not practical. Also had a side of the horseradish potato salad, it was ok, but we didn't even eat it, just a bite each. Overall, the staff was great and the manager was talkative and helpful. Food was good and a good price, and the happy hour drinks hit the spot!

Thee absolute worse experience! We planned a bridal shower there and reserved a room nearly a month ahead of time. We arrived and discovered that our table had given away in error. The manager offered apps and simply said...sorry. I'm pretty furious.

The food was great - we tried the bacon sampler appetizer. The bacon was good, but the sausage gravy is the star. I ate the meatloaf. Delicious! My wife had the BLT & A. So good! We had a great night. The service was great too!

We had lunch here on 6/6. The ambience is very nice - I like basement restaurants but if you're looking for windows, this is not the place. The decor is nice and the restaurant is very clean. The food was great!! The chips/salsa/guac appetizer was very tasty (I was glad they had a mild option in addition to the ghost pepper one - perfect for my husband and I!) Two of us got the BLT & A with onion straws on the third person got the hog shanks with chili. All were fantastic - we also got a side of the horseradish potato salad (the potatoes were very undercooked but the flavor was good) and the wedge salad. The 3 star rating is based on two things: the service and the plating. Our server hovered as we were selecting food and then basically bullied us into ordering before we were ready...and then two items were wrong and she totally forgot one item. I also saw her putting lemons in our waters with her bare hands which is gross. She also messed up our bill TWICE. The other issue is some of the plating. The wedge salad was tasty but nearly impossible to eat on the narrow plate on which they serve it - at least a third of the salad ended up on the table trying to cut it. Yes it looked pretty on the plate but it wasn't functional. The chili came in a tiny little bowl and when my tablemate put their spoon in to take a bite, it overflowed because the bowl was way too small. So overall, good atmosphere and good food but disappointing and sketchy service. We would probably go back if someone suggested it but won't be recommending it to anyone either.

Went with my fiance a couple of days ago on a Groupon voucher. The ambiance is nice, you can tell they really want to put emphasis on food and nightlife which is cool. But we went for the food. The duck sliders were not really good. The meat was in little balls and tasted nothing like Duck you would find at Union 50 or Black Market. The plantains were soggy and had no crunch nor gave me any type of Caribbean vibe as someone else stated on Yelp. Not a favorite of mine. Gumbo was extremely spicy, more peppers to eat than anything else in the Gumbo. Had the frog legs and they were 3 out of 10. Breading was bad, the sauce should not have been paired with the Frog Legs since it diluted the taste off the meat. Not very good. Service was alright, nothing special. Problem I had was we had a $60 off tab through Groupon and was at $59.95, the manager didn't take the tab to $60 and give us the tab at $0 and us just tip the waitress. No he gave us $50 off and made us pay the $9.95 and then tip. That's BS and with only 4 tables seated at the time, you'd think they would want people coming back. I definitely will never be back.

What's a guy to do after a long day of working in downtown Indianapolis and a couple hours to kill before catching a show at Indiana Repertory Theater? Well, if you're a Yelper the answer most likely involves trying to track down a decent place to catch a meal for your latest Yelp review. Fortunately, there are a few newer options in downtown Indy. I wheeled around downtown for a little bit looking around, but once I spied BL&T (Bacon, Legs, & Turntables) I knew that I'd found my spot despite the menu generally being a tad more than I'd planned to spend tonight. As I wheeled up to their awning, I checked out the menu in their window. While there's a statement on their website about serving a full breakfast menu at all hours, though I do not see breakfast foods on their current menu and don't recall having seen any while I was there. They have appetizers, quite a few sandwiches including burgers, chicken, tenderloin, cubano and others, and some soup/salad options plus a kids menu. Sandwich prices range from the $9.95 BL&T and a Veggie concoction to a couple of their specialized burger options that ring up at $13.95. I opted for the breaded tenderloin sandwich that comes with fries for $12.95. It was another couple bucks for my usual unsweetened iced tea. In terms of wheelchair access, you always seem to deal with a little more of an issue when you choose to dine downtown. Whether it's parking issues or bad curb cuts, downtown Indy has improved dramatically in terms of access but still is a bit more challenging than many city areas. BL&T is located at 1 N. Meridian Street, but in the basement of the building. The good news is that the building does have an elevator that takes you down there. It actually seems to end put you in a hallway that leads to the entrance, but it does work. As I was sitting outside the building, a couple of their servers were walking in and were genuinely friendly and helpful. When I decided to go ahead and dine there, another employee saw me as I arrived in the basement and guided me the right direction in the hallway. I encountered Laurie, and I'm not sure I'm spelling her name correctly, whom I'd met outside and who was just as warm once again. She also had some great instincts about wheelchairs, a fact I would eventually learn was at least partly attributable to her husband being in a chair. My server, Caylee, was attentive, timely, helpful, and didn't rush me. I arrived early in the dinner hour, but felt free to relax. That was nice. I also not only got an iced tea refill, but got one to go. That was unexpected given the more formal/stylish ambience of the place. I actually checked in on Yelp during my visit. Yes, I finally downloaded the app. Much to my surprise, my check-in was noticed (I'm not sure if it was an owner or manager) and I was greeted and had a nice conversation with staff. The tenderloin sandwich was quite good. If you prefer it pounded thin, you may not care for it as it tends to be a rather meaty, nicely seasoned slab. The bun bordered on a touch plain, but I still really enjoyed it. I also really enjoyed the shoestring style fries that were seasoned quite nicely. The meal was a good value - I was definitely full by meal's end, but not obnoxiously so. I really like the feeling here - Music videos on large screen televisions were playing while I was dining, though I know weekends also bring a DJ during the late night hours. There's a definite nightclub feeling to it, ranging from the decor to the attractive and outgoing servers. With a name that's destined to make you wonder what it's all about, BL&T is ultimately all about good and adventurous dining options with an abundance of service and atmosphere. While some of the reviews here would indicate they might've struggled a little bit early on in getting things to gel together, all I can go on is my experience. While BL&T may not be the best meal I've ever had, it was a welcome dining experience after a rough day at work. I enjoyed the food. I enjoyed both Caylee and Laurie (plus the others I met). I enjoyed the atmosphere and I left the place a satisfied customer.

After hearing about the soft opening months ago, I was excited to hear that BL&T would be serving breakfast all day. Stopped by this morning around 10:30, and was told they weren't open until 11 am even though the hours posted were 24 hrs on Saturday and I had called 20 min prior and asked if they were open. We were told that they were still in their "soft opening" with the limited menu which included zero breakfast items. We were told that the grand opening would be Feb 27th and they would have the full menu then. Really hankering for breakfast foods, we moved on. We will probably try again once they have their full menu.

So we came here for a friend's 30th birthday dinner and it was cool! Parking sucks as you have to find street parking...but other than that its cool. You have to walk down a huge flight of steps to get to the restaurant,...for those of you who have issues with stairs. A lot of the seating is highstool and bar table seating, so if you have kids or elderly people in your party,...state that when you call in, because that was a problem for us. Food was very good! Some of the items were a bit odd,...but I guess that is what you can expect from a place that bases its menu around animal legs :) I had the duck sliders,..where the "bread" is flattened plantain,...omg they were so good! West Africans and carribeans folks,...you'll love this one! I also have the shrimp corn dogs and they were equally tasty but beware,...heavily fried and battered...not the light fry thin coating type of batter you may expect from fusion-y places. They have this drink and I can't think of the name but its the most heavenly concoction with St Germains (elderflower liquor) and grapefruit flavoring...OMG ITS THE BEST DRINK EVER!!! ORDER IT!!! Other notables: service is spotty but the girls were nice,... décor is cool Dj was random? I Would come back again!

Well. I won't say I will not return to this restaurant, but I probably won't and I am in no rush. To talk about the pluses: the atmosphere is great. Blaring music, a lit up bar and the design/layout is nicely designed. Another plus is the waiters/waitresses are down to earth and friendly. Our waitress was speaking to us like we were friends. I always enjoy that more. Last plus is their hours. They go until 5am and if you are out late and get hungry after a night out then there a place. Although... Well, I'll get to the food. There was also a DJ, so maybe it turns into a nightclub. For the minuses: the food is a little pricey the plates were around $12-17 and for average food, that's a lot. I will say that if the food was perfected a little better than I would not mind paying that much for it. My husband got a turkey leg and anytime he can get one when there is no fair going on its awesome! But the meat needed to be cooked a little longer to make it more tender and glazed. I'm thinking they want to have speedy services, but I rather them take awhile. The potatoes it came with were a little over peppered but the cranberry was a nice touch. The burger I received was the Old McDonald BBQ burger. It was kinda fatty and greasy and it lacked sauce. We also got an appetizer. Very greasy. The shrimp corn dogs is what we got. They came with balsamic and horseradish. They would have been better with cocktail sauce and baked. Lastly, the girls have to wear short short short shorts and I'm not a fan. So I say try it for yourself I'm not saying do not go. But if you never go, you aren't missing out. But I am saying do not get the shrimp corn dogs unless they decide not to fry them anymore.

Good food and quality ingredients, using Smoking Goose products is a bonus. Service was OK and they made a great Moscow Mule. I would go back and try every single thing on the menu - I love the concept food-wise, but the staff's clothing was lost on our whole group. Rather Hooters-like and not necessary. The great food can do the work to bring in the customers.

I decided to give BL&T another try. My second time they still did not have a full menu. Third visit was 4/4/15. A decent Saturday night - definitely not overwhelmingly packed but not dead either. I walked in with two guests and got seated promptly. All three of us ordered waters. After about 10 minutes our server came back to take our food order. Two of us ordered the shrimp corn dogs and one ordered the French toast. After reading that it takes them forever to order the food, I decided to time the cook time on my phone. Started to get antsy after 25 minutes of not being served... At around 30 minutes our server says our food will be up next.. By 40 minutes, I flag down our server and ask about our food. Her response was "oh, I thought you guys were just drinking." Huh? We ordered waters so not quite sure where she got that idea. I asked where the food was and she said "um I'll have to go check in the kitchen", which everyone knows is code for "I forgot to put it in." The server never once apologized or offered to take it off our checks. We waited another 10 minutes - the time in which she didn't make it back to our table to let us know what happened - at this point frustrated and starving, we walked out. I was absolutely blown away at the servers attitude and the fact that a manager didn't once stop around to make sure everything was going ok. BL&T, you need to get better servers. I will not be not be returning. Good luck staying in business.

Meh... we tried it out because I've seen it while going downtown, and let's face it, bacon is in the name. We go in at dinner time and have the restaurant to ourselves which is nice and all but not a good sign if there is no business. The waitress was really quiet and soft spoken. I got the chicken bacon sandwich thay had the fried egg. I thought the chicken had a really weird after taste. Seems like a cool place, but based on the above statements, probably won't be back

This was a pretty cool place. We tried a variety of things here, some good, some not so good. The hot short legs were really good, like a big buffalo wings with more meat. And a pretty good deal for the amount they give you. The fried bacon was interesting and tasty, but greasy, as expected. The gator was spicy, but just okay. The atmosphere was pretty cool, but not sure if I'd come back.

I'm glad we were intrigued by the menu, as our trip to BL&T was very enjoyable. Our favorite was the pulled pork bruschetta (simply stated, the perfectly balanced bite). The "I ain't afraid of no ghost" was big enough for 4 people to share, tasty, but regrettably was not as spicy as the name implied. We were a tad disappointed by the ahi tuna app, as it lacked flavor and the cucumber garnish needed a light pickling. OMG! the Bloody Mary garnish, on the other hand, was impressive! Our bartender was very friendly and offered up great suggestions. We'll be back for dinner sometime. Half price apps were too hard to pass up.

If 0 stars were an option.... Went here for my sister's birthday dinner and we all were less than impressed. Now, we were well aware that we had a large group, about 14 people. But the service that we encountered, was beyond terrible. I'll start from the beginning: First, When we arrived, the place was not busy at all. There were maybe 5 tables? It looked like everyone had gotten their food and was enjoying their drinks or getting ready to leave. Fine. So as we were seated, we were given menus almost immediately. Then we waited about 20 mins to put in our drink order. 30 minutes later, our drinks arrived. At this point with the place practically empty, waiting that long for drinks is a bit of a stretch. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and started getting our own drinks from the bar. (roughly 1 hr mark, just stay with me) Finally it was time to order, and we were definitely ready. Here comes another problem, they sent their 17 yr old hostess (that we later found out had NEVER been a server or even knew how to work their POS system) to work our table, the biggest table, with little to no help. While the manager and another server were working the other 3 tables with no more than 2-3 people tops. WHAT??!!!! The girl was a sweetheart, and she did the very best she could keeping everything in order. She took everyone's order and went to go put them in. Time passed, we were tired of eating chips and salsa, and no one came to refill our fountain drinks/water unless we flagged them down. 1 HOUR LATER, the food starts to come out. We were all ready to dig in....and then more issues. 1) Some orders were never put in. 2) The Father of the birthday girl was the first to order and didn't receive his food until 45 mins AFTER everyone else. 3) One of the ladies ordered some platter and I guess they ran out of one of the items and SWITCHED her food WITHOUT asking or telling her! Who does that? They could have easily asked her if she wanted something else or even made her aware of what was going on. (Still with me? We're into the 3rd hour and I'm almost done) After 15mins of switching around plates to get the meal you actually ordered, we were ready to dig in to what looks like amazing food. Boy were we wrong! Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE took about 3 bites of their food and was just fed up and done. The food was either cold, still frozen, burnt, bland, tasted like powder, or simply inedible. It was a nightmare. Another server that was "helping" came by to check on us; we told him the issues we were having and he tried to tell us how HE thinks the food is great but he would get the manager. When the manager came over, we had one of the ladies kind of sum up our experience including giving us someone that wasn't even a server and he couldn't care less. He basically said what would you like for me to do about that? Keep in mind, we were spending anywhere between $30-50 per person, and no one asked for a comp. The worst part is that throughout the experience, the teen hostess (that has NEVER served) was being yelled at and made to cry the entire time. They (assistant manager and "helper" server) threatened to take and split the tips from our table because she made too many mistakes. WTF??? She was the best part about the place. Yes, she messed up but no one was helping her and she has never been trained to be a server! Needless to say we pooled all the cash we had to give her a well-deserved tip and some of us even left contact info just in case she wanted to get out of that terrible place. 4 hours later, we left hungry, irritated, and most definitely killed a night that was supposed to be a celebration. NEVER. GOING. BACK

So we went here for a friends birthday. This place has potential. Although not my typical type of place. Defiantly a classed up tilted kilt kind of place. The decor is great. Music was ehh, personally ditch the loud clubby music and put on some good tunes that pair better with bacon ideas. So the service for a new restaurant was decent. We went in a large group of 8, and although the checks got a little messed up. We always had drinks and water. As for the food, it was so hit or miss. I know it was an new abbreviated menu, but honestly needs some work. First the deviled eggs have horse radish in them, since some people have an aversion to that, it should be listed on the menu as part of the description. However they were good. The pulled pork brucheta, great heat spice wise, however warm up the meat literally. It was cold... I microwaved one we took home and it was so much better heated up! The sandwiches were huge, however everyone's was a different temperate as if they had no warmer. I had specifically asked if the Italian sandwich was served hot, and she said it was. However it arrived mostly like warm, cheese wasn't even melted. Again heat that sucker up, who doesn't love melted cheese on sandwiches! I could only eat about a bite because cool meats and cheeses make me gag. My husbands sandwich was much warmer than mine, but still not hot. Like even toss them in a microwave! The sides were huge portions. Good side salad and the fruit cup was massive and fresh. Also get some bacon tasters! It's in your name! I know you just opened, but bacon tasters and dip would have been great! They had a few goose the market items and personally when something is from there Many of us locals will pay the premium price for good food we know we can trust!

Went here for a quick bite on Saturday. There seemed to be a lot of confusion at the server/host stand on stand. The ambiance is cool. Had the trio of country bacon and blackened gator. The gator was a bit salty. The bacon was quite decadent.

Went on a Groupon. Being in the basement, it has a cool vibe of a high-end dive bar. Menu looked amazing; I had to force the waitress to take my order to make up my mind. Food was amazing and drink selection was solid and intriguingly creative.

Thankfully Sarah the co-manager and her staff really helped turn around the evening. The food is still wonderful but the Manager Bob needs to get his life together.

BLT is absolutely not ready for larger parties. I've served before so I understand if they're busy but we literally were one of the 3 tables in the entire restaurant. Our waitress didn't know a thing about the beers they offer and couldn't give any proper recommendations when we asked for an Ale. We had a party of 12 and maybe 6 of us ordered the Moscow Mule and they ran out of the copper cups. Drinks took minimum 10 mins to receive. Main course food and drinks were just ok. For the good. Appetizers were delicious! I highly recommend the fried bacon and shrimp corn dogs. The ambience and decor were fun and our out of town guests were intrigued by the records with the city skylines and music videos. Overall, wait a few months until they get all the kinks worked out.

This place makes comfort food fancy. Dimly lit and worthy of a dress shirt, this is a perfect spot for a unique and relatively inexpensive date night or gathering with friends. The menu is elegantly crafted, and provides a little something for everyone. There are many one-of-a-kind menu items you can't get anywhere else, including cream cheese bacon sauce and ghost pepper cheese sauce. I went with the aptly titled "I'm not a bum; I'm a jerk!" also known as jerked hog shanks. The 3 shanks are served over a sweet potato plantain mash with a scotch/rum drizzle. They. Are. Incredible. The meat literally falls off the bone, leaving a completely white bone that took zero effort. If this was an option at the last supper, Jesus would have chosen this meal. The drinks are interesting(I recommend the Bacon 'N Beam) yet delicious. My only complaint is the staff. Most of the wait staff do not belong in a "higher-end" establishment and seem to have little-to-no experience. The service isn't the best, and if made better, this place would be a lot busier than it is. Great food, great concept, great location, and great atmosphere. Not-so-great execution. Either way, I'll be back for the food, and I recommend you take the gamble as well.

We went there on a sunny but cold Saturday around 2pm. When we walked in, no one was at the host stand so I after standing for a while we went to the bar and asked if we should just seat ourselves. He told us to talk to the hostess.... Who still wasn't there. After explaining this to the bartender hd was kind enough to grab menus and take us to a really nice booth table. He came with water and said although he usually doesn't wait tables other than the bar, he'd be helping us today which we felt was kind. We ended up waiting about 15 minutes and finally went to the bar to let them know we would like to order. After that confusion things went much smoother. The food came out quickly and looked great. The price wasn't too bad about $12.50 for the BLT sandwich with amazing fries. The sandwich was good filling, however I would have preferred actual avocado to the avocado mayo they they had. Overall it was an OK experience. The venue was unique but it felt off being underground. There is no 'T' while we were there. I am glad I checked it out but can't say I'll be a regular. I will say the fries were some of the best I've had.

Not much more I can add to what "Peter P." said. They still don't have fryers, so the menu was limited to bacon. That's disappointing, but the staff was nice and attentive. I liked the ambiance of the place, it was a truly nice setting. The high tables are perfect for a big group of friends to gather after work for beers and a satisfying meal. They didn't have a drink menu, so we all went off the waitresses memorization skills. One friend ordered a Bloody Mary. However, it was $12!! I wanted to keep it to about $20 bucks tonight, so I had to go with a Sun King Cream Ale ($6) the "Old McDonald 3BLT" and the Horseradish Bacon Potato Salad ($10.95). I loved the crispy bacon. My only suggestion for this dish is in regards to plating. The sandwiches come halved and stacked on top of each other. The problem is the bottom sandwich gets a soggy crust from the heat of it being toasted. Looking forward to seeing what BL&T will have in store!

I really love how this place looked. its so cute and eclectic! Not sure why review was so low here. Went here a few days ago on a Wednesday to use our groupon. Of course being downtown its hard to find parking, but good thing we found parking near the streets near monument circle for FREE! BLT is in between Qdobos and Jimmy Johns and there is a hostess outside to direct you it is downstairs. Looks like its in a basement. I really dig the decor. One thing I didnt like, I didnt like the music. I am all for hip hop, but the music felt like it was a club going on. It was a weekday so i didn't think the club music was necessary. We were seated right away and we were able to use the $30 groupon on anything wanted. It was very hard to choose, not sure if it was over or underwhelming menu, but we really couldn't decide. I think I was expecting a full menu of entrees like steak and pasta but I take that there menu is like bar type food. I ordered a pork tenderloin sandwich and my boyfriend got meatloaf. Food came soooo quick! Now that's service.Tenderloin sandwich was huge!! I couldn't even finish it, i ate only half. It was good. I really enjoyed the fries that went with it. The meatloaf is ok, maybe because I am not a meatloaf fan. But I guess that's what you order when you cant decide. To me it tasted kind of try, but again I don't know how meatloaf tastes like. My boyfriend seem to enjoyed it. Also the sangria i order was the special white sangria, it was strong but I don't know why the call it white for it was more pink. Maybe because they use fruit so the infusion of it made it change color. I enjoyed the sangria, it was strong and not so sweet just the way I like it. Got our check and noticed they gave us only $27 dollar discount for groupon instead of $30, but Heather our waitress went ahead and fixed that right up. I think this place is perfect for a place to kick back and chill and have a few drinks and appetizers. I would be back for a random chill night if the music was different. I hope this place does very well, because when we were there, it was not busy at all. Overall wonderful experience hope to be back to a different type of genre of music.

Decor: cute little underground spot with lots of seating for groups and tv's that were playing videos for the music that was playing over the speakers. I don't think they actually had the dj start spinning on the turntables until about 8p and we were there on a Saturday. Food: VERY DISAPPOINTING. Two of the people I was with ordered the Indiana Fish Fry. The fish fillet was huge and the flavor was there but both of them had food that was undercooked and greasy. We think the grease the chef was using was old because they sent back their food and ordered chicken wings which turned out to be undercooked as well. We also ordered the meatloaf which was dry and not good flavor wise. I had the old mcdonald Mac and cheese which I only ate because my table had already sent back two dishes and I didn't want to risk sending bank a third. The only food we had that was good were the pork crostini and fried pickles. Even the shrimp corn dogs we had were nothing special. Service: the servers seemed clueless. One of the girls even brought out wings without the fries we ordered and told us they had just been put in the fryer....we never got those fries. The manager was very accommodating and she didn't charge us for the food we couldn't eat but with everything going on we just wanted to pay and leave. It took another 15 minutes for the waitress to figure out what the manager had done to our check so there was clearly a lack in communication. I definitely won't be returning here.

This is in the old King Cole restaurant space from many years ago, downstairs at 1 N. Meridian Street. The menu has a good variety, except for me, a vegetarian and some items are only available 'after 5.' There is a 'quick lunch' menu also, which I did not see on their web site, from which I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup, $6. Unfortunately, the soup has chicken stock and the slaw side has fish something, so I ordered the fries, which were lukewarm and a little limp. The grilled cheese was good, but I wish I had asked to include a tomato, or something, to offset the creamy, cheesy taste. My wife ordered the breakfast, $8, from the regular menu and was satisfied, although I thought the home fries were a little bland. The prices seem okay based on the location and ambiance and service, although the menu on the web site does not indicate that you do get a choice of sides with all the sandwiches and $3 for coffee seems high. Our server, Sydney, and all of the staff, were pleasant and attentive and a manager was visibly helping. There was not much of a crowd-I would guess only about 1/4-1/3 full out of 147 seats. They play music videos on some of the TVs, and some brought back 25-year-ago memories. There is a DJ on weekends. For large groups, they have a separate dining room, which can seat 15, with a minimum of eight and it can be reserved. The wait staff is described as 'upon first glance, you'll find that they too are uniquely BL&T', which might be because the female staff wear bicycle shorts. No problem here! There is also a nice looking bar. I would return, maybe in the evening, just for the fun of it but would order the breakfast.

Took 20 minutes to get food and it was not busy at all. Waitress recommended Blackened Gator and it was not good at all. It was 4 "chicken wings" highly seasoned with a fowl-tasting corn underneath and a huge pile of onion strings. The chicken club had set for several minutes and was soggy and cold. Overpriced and disappointing.
(2)Noah M.
The food here was terrible. My friend's bowl of gumbo tasted as if someone took an ice pick to a block of salt and generously chipped away. The concept of this place does not work, especially for Indianapolis. Also, there was no one there on a Friday night and service was still somewhat slow. I would not recommend BL&T.
(2)Taylor G.
When we arrived at the restaraunt, we gave the hostess the last name of the reservation and were promptly taken downstairs. We were guided around the dining room and asked "do you see them?" We told the hostess multiple times that the rest of our party wasn't there yet, to which she responded "are you sure you don't see them?" Apparently someone had the same name as us and she never bothered to ask which reservation we were. It took almost 10 minutes for her to figure that out. Once we were finally seated, the service was a little hit and miss. We didn't receive our food all at the same time and my order was incorrect. The food was good overall, however. We may give it a 2nd try once it's not so new.
(3)Jeff B.
CRITICAL BOTCH. So, they pretty much messed up everything you could mess up. Everything. Late food, bad food, late drinks, wrong menus, dualing servers, wrong drinks, wrong menu items. No point in even getting into detail. Might as well visit now, no way they'll be open another 2 months.
(1)Jenny K.
After my latest visit I feel the need to review BL&T in hopes it will help them get better. I really want this place to be successful. I would have given them a 2.5 but that's not an option so I rounded up to 3 since they were good enough the first time for me to return. My first visit to BL&T was before their official opening and they didn't have any of the fryers so there was a limited menu. Nevertheless, I was in a group of 8 or so, and we had a very enjoyable experience. I ordered a salad with spinach, blue cheese and a few other items I can't remember and I added bacon - because you should always do that at this place. It was MASSIVE - literally bigger than my head as well as quite tasty. You'll probably need to get a second side of dressing and probably a box if you like leftover salad. The BLT's were a huge hit with a few people in my group and service was as expected for a newly opened restaurant. Overall I would have given them a 4 for that visit. My second visit was about a week or two later and it was an AWFUL serving experience. I was in a group of 12 this time. We were seated quickly in the corner and we had offered to split up, but we were seated all together. We were given a server that promptly took our drink orders (9 waters and 2 beers and 1 mixed drink) and she didn't return for 30 minutes to our table. It took about 15 minutes after dropping off our drinks for her to return to take our order. We ordered 2 appetizers and they were promised to be quick since we were starving by this point- quick turned into another 30 minutes before those arrived. A person in my group got up twice and asked for updates on our food since it was taking so long and we were on our lunch break. Food arrived about 15 minutes after the appetizer. I ordered the Old McDonald, which has 3 types of bacon on it, and it was delicious! I would highly recommend. We asked for our checks immediately, those took another 15+ mins (although that time is expected due to the large group) and our server instead of handing them out placed them on the table next to us. So someone in our group had to physically get up and pass out our own checks. Altogether it took 2 hours for lunch in a group of 12 - which a group of 8 a week or two earlier took about an hour. The restaurant is swanky and has decent music during lunch hour that's not too loud or too quiet. There are TVs around the room as well for additional entertainment. The food was good, but not worth the wait to get it. I would love to see a focus on speedy lunches since most patrons arriving at noon on a Friday probably have to go back to work. If I hadn't had a good visit the first time I went I would never return to this place based on the horrible serving experience the second time around. I will give them a third chance to see if the service is any better. No food is worth a crappy dining experience in my opinion.
(3)Greg M.
Without a doubt this was the worst restaurant experience of my life. I can't imagine they will be in business next week. Avoid like the plague!

Just dropped in while out walking during lunch hour. I'll be very interested in how this place develops. I definitely received a number of qualifiers about the concept and present menu set up upon arrival, and was provided notice of the upcoming grand opening, which was quite smart to do. They are definitely anxious to open, but still working out some of the details. I didn't mind. I read over the menu, I would probably order over 1/2 the menu items and not be bored with it, that's a good sign. I did order the the smoked BBQ Duck Cobb Salad which was fantastic. I'd like to see a litte red onion on it, but it was near perfect. Great smoke on the duck, perfect doneness, terrific mix of greens, properly dressed, and yes, real bacon bits.
(4)Jon S.
I really want to like this place, and I do. Yet, after dining here twice, I just can't help but feel let down. The concept is awesome - all kinds of dishes with bacon, and all kinds of different legs - turkey, duck, frog, chicken, alligator, etc. The food is good. Last night I had the Chipotle BBQ Duck Leg. It was well presented with a nice crispy bbq on the outside. It was also quite flavorful, though a little tough in spots. Not the best duck I've ever had, but quite good. My wife had a shrimp Po' Boy that was mediocre. Our friends had diners that they rated above average. So, the food is pretty good, and the menu has a nice diversity. The problem is the service. The place wasn't busy at all. I would say it took around 10 minutes for our waitress to come over to our table. She did give us the ubiquitous "I'll be right with you, so sorry". Still, in today's competitive market, service is everything. The very nice hostess took our drink orders. Nice, but she was clueless. I ordered a Manhattan on the rocks, I got it neat. A couple of other small things were incorrect with our food orders. Even the bus boy/food server seemed clumsy and out of sinc. He almost spilled my wife's dinner plate while serving her, and tried to take the appetizer plate when there was still quite a bit of food left on it. Then, he was overly intrusive while removing our dinner dishes and empty glasses. These things might all seem small, but they add up. On top of that, the entire staff seemed to have an air of disorder and clumsiness about them. Again, not good in a competitive market. I hope that this place makes it and they get their service up to par. If so, it could be a solid four, or possibly even five star establishment. As it is now - just average.
(3)Bart K.
Had lunch there today, and although they are still in the soft opening phase, I was impressed with the friendly staff, the interesting menu options, and the quality of the food. I hope they are able to keep things together after the official opening and I am eager to see the breakfast menu! The only negative comment I have, which reflects that they are still figuring things out, is that someone needs to tell the people busing tables not to loudly crash dishes and utensils from the departed patrons into a tray 4 feet from the ears of other patrons still trying to enjoy their meals. I thought someone had dropped a tray of dishes and utensils, but it was just the noise from clearing the table.

Ate at BLT twice during Final Four weekend, April 3rd and 4th, 2015. Friday night, party of four ate dinner at a bar area table. Food was good. Brand new server announce it was her first shift. We returned Saturday at 4:15 p.m. we brought a party of 10 into the restaurant. Although the restaurant was only about half full, were quickly seated in a private dinning room although we did not ask for the private room. The server came in quickly. She was very nice and took our drink order. We told her two to three more people would join us soon. She brought all except three of our drinks. Before she served them, she spilled a full glass of water on the table and said she would return soon. We also ordered appetizers. A few minutes later a male server appeared to take the the orders for the three missing drinks again. When we explained those three already ordered he explained the server has had a long day and is no longer our server. A few minutes later a third server came in to clarify the order for the three missing drinks. They were Martini's: 1BeafEaters and 2 Hendricks martinis. She stated the bartenders do not know what Hendricks is. My husband explained Hendricks is a type of gin and there are four bottles on the bar and what the bottle look like. She wrote it all down. At this time, several people needed drink refills. The server said she would return to take the orders. A new server appeared about 20 minutes later with the three drinks and said she would get our server to return to take the orders. At this point, we were in the restaurant over an hour and a half and had one round of drinks and no appetizers AND no one had taken our food orders. To expedite this review, we ended up with the GM, Ron as our server, were there 2 hours before we saw our appetizers and a second round of drinks and food orders finally taken and served at 7:00 p.m. Several in our party went to the bar to order drinks and were amazed at how disorganized the bar staff was. Various servers were sent in the private room to take drink orders. We never saw a complete third round. Not all were alcoholic. Keep in mind we were there during the first game of the NCAA Final Four game and saw almost the entire game without getting food. By 8 p.m. we still did not have bills and when Ron delivered them, they were not correct. In the end, the restaurant ended up paying for 12 meals 5 appetizers and many drinks (not too many because service was so slow). This experience took over 4 hours and caused us to miss the NCAA Fan Experience event that closed at 8 p.m. Bottom line is we are local Indy residents and will NOT be back to this restaurant.

We came in to a full house around 3:30am, so I was prepared for a bit of a wait. We were seated and waited for about 10 minutes as numerous servers passed us by and not one stopped to greet us or take our drink order. We left since it didn't appear we were going to be served. A quick conversation with the hostess confirmed our suspicion that our table was never assigned a server.

Outstanding,The food blew my mind. Cant wait for more. I challenge everyone to come and check this out.

Highly recommend!!! DO NOT CHEAT YOURSELF from trying this restaurant from the reviews that are before 2/27, this place was not in full operation and I almost didn't go bc of the reviews. I have never experienced such an amazing menu of different unique food, and what an atmosphere when the DJ comes on! The staff was awesome, engaging, very polite and most friendly. I went to the grand opening on 2/27 for dinner, I came back for lunch and dinner on 2/28, the food was awesome. There is so much to select from, you really want to try everything. I had fried pickles, pulled pork sandwich, Buffalo legs (chx drums/wingy), nachos with ghost pepper queso, deviled eggs and frog legs. All the food was outstanding. When I am back in Indy I am going back for thirds and fourths to try the duck and one of the huge wedge salads!!

I really wanted to like this place. I love when indy gets new restaurants, especially when they are new and original concepts. However, this place was nothing more than a glorified hooters with club music. The service was awful.. the booty-shorts clad teenage waitress got caught up in leading on a table of forty something old men and completely forgot about our drink order. We waited over twenty minutes until I finally got up and went to the bar to get it myself. She came over to the bar while I was waiting for someone to notice me standing there (though it was empty) and she didn't acknowledge me. I said excuse me and asked her politely about our drinks. She said she forgot and would bring them right over. We got our food at the same time as our drinks 10 minutes later. The food was subpar at best. Had it been worth the shitty service, it would have made up for things. However it was just glorified bar food. We ordered the gator leg, nachos with ghost queso, and the mac & cheese. The queso was the only thing that was good. I wanted another drink by the end of it but the waitress was nowhere to be found as usual. Another more helpful waitress (hostess even?) took my drink order. She actually ended up forgetting too. Somewhere in the middle of that, someone who clearly looked like a manager or owner came by our table to ask if we needed anything and we figured the drink order was en route so we didnt say anything at the time. He seemed very abrupt and acted as if he knew something was wrong because he had a long talk with our (real) waitress afterwards and kept pointing at us, though we did not complain about her or anything. It was all really strange. We ended up paying our bill and getting the heck out of there. I told the waitress to forget about my drink after she came up and told me she forgot about it. It was just bad. I hate to be one of those people but unless they decide to forego the trashy booty short waitress theme and settle for servers who actually know what they're doing, they will not last long. They just dont have much to offer all in all. Obviously, we will not be back.

I was able to stop by for brunch and experienced BL&T's preview menu. I am looking forward to going back when they have their Grand Opening and full menu available which includes some interesting items such as alligator and frog legs. I was there at 10:30am and they did not open until 11am, but the bar manager seated us anyway. The seating area has a mixture of high tops, half circle booths, and regular four-person tables. There is a small lounge like area as you walk in, no doubt for those waiting for a table when it gets busy. The lighting and decor are very modern and they had music videos on small TVs throughout the dining area. I saw where the DJ booth was, but since it was brunch hours, it was of course empty. After seated Sarah, the bar manager, was very nice and thoroughly went through the menu and the concept behind the restaurant. She sold me on a Bloody Mary that came with a boiled egg, chicken wing, and a piece of bacon on top of the usual garnish. The house mix was slightly spicy which I like. I enjoyed it, but will probably just go with a regular Bloody Mary next time since my meal was so filling. I ordered the Italian Three-Meat which is described as soppressata, capicola, salami, fontina, roasted red peppers on a polish baguette and a side of horseradish bacon potato salad. They used some meats from Smoking Goose, which is local and one of the best meat markets in the city. The sandwich was good. The potato salad was delicious. I regret not ordering a sandwich with bacon on it. My companion ordered the Old McDonald 3BL&T and I found I was envious of his choice. Overall, the staff was amazing and the food was good. I will definitely be back to try the full menu and experience the turntable portion of the restaurant when they are open 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
