My husband and I decided to try the Hobart Tommy B's and glad we did. We went to dinner early so there wasn't a large crowd. Our waitress Kim went over the menu and Chef Chris came out and went over the evening special's . I opted for the Scallop's and they were grilled to perfection. Delicious! My husband got the perch also equal good. Kim the waitress also made our drinks and she did a excellent spicy Bloody Mary. Service and food great. Looking forward to a return in the future.

Came in on a Saturday night. I felt as if they were very understaffed. I think I saw my waitress a total of 3 times. The Sushi was great however my entrée came before my appetizer and when my appetizer did come it was cold. The wine was pretty good the red I had was just the right boldness. I would recommend on a busy night you adequately staff your staff.

Tommy B's is located in the old Hunky Hollow. The dining room and bar have been remodeled and are quite nice. Smoking is allowed in the bar so we sat in the dining room. It was too bright even though the waitress used the dimmer in our section. The menus are tacky - bent and stained. It is obvious that they are from the other location in Valparaiso but it gives an unpleasant first impression. The food selections were nice. Sandwiches were around $10 and steaks from $20 to $30 - Reasonable. We started with a shared appetizer of Tommy's Martini Trio. It was billed as Ahi Tuna, Shrimp Cocktail and Crab Cerviche. The shrimp (3) were large with a tasty cocktail sauce. The tuna had a pleasant mango salsa but was cut way too thick. The cerviche was more of a crab salad and was especially flavorful with fresh squeezed lemon. At $12, it was okay. I had the Classic Prime Burger. It was thick and prepared rare as requested. Skip the spicy mayo. It overwhelms the beef. Mom had the Prime Rib Panini and loved it. We each chose fried onion straws and they were excellent. I'd like to give Tommy B's a better rating so I will return and hope that the amenities have improved. They have a full bar and a decent wine and martini selection.

This place was extremely subpar. The service was fantastic, but the food was very bad. The prime rib was cold and when we received our chicken wing appetizer, the chicken wings were not fully cooked. I personally will not be visiting this establishment again.

This is the second time we ate at Tommy B's in Hobart. Last time we had the perch which was excellent but this time, on the recommendation from the Executive Chef, who greeted us at our table, we had an appetizer of bacon wrapped scallops, which were amazing. I had the sun-dried tomato crusted salmon and it was sooooo good that I can't wait to go back and have it again. The service was A+. Sadly, on a Friday night, there was no one else in the dining room with us for hours. This must be the best kept secret in town. Probably could use a Groupon to get more bodies in there. Sure it was pricey but for north Hobart this is a top-shelf restaurant. I encourage everyone to try this eatery. By the way, it has been remodeled (was the former Country Lounge), and looks like an up scale restaurant in downtown Chicago now.

The Ahi Tuna is amazing. It's surprising to find such a quality restaurant in this particular location, a real gem of a restaurant in Hobart. Make sure to order their martini's as well. The wine list is awesome and reasonably priced. A very good experience.
