If you want a great sandwich Lincoln's is the place to go. You'll hear most people talk about the Steelworker (which is an excellent sandwich roast beef and American cheese on grilled rye) however, one of their most underated sandwiches is the Lincoln cheese burger. It's a different kind of burger. A huge burger on French bread with melty cheese w/ shredded lettuce, tomato and mayo, delicious! Their tuna melt is excellent also. Another popular sandwich is the Bunny Girl which is a ham and cheese.Good deviled eggs if you need an appetizer. They put together an excellent sandwich tray for your parties too. I've ordered it many times.

You want a great sub and I'm not talking about chain restaurants, gotta check this place out local fav. Lots to chose from on the menu, place is always packed. Recommend calling your order ahead of time but definitely a place to try if you haven't been.

Avoid this establishment at all costs. I have purchased food there twice, and the employees are extremely rude beyond belief! The food itself is mediocre at best. The store's cleanliness is barely acceptable. The atmosphere was completely as if the employees were reluctantly doing me a favor! Very poor attitudes. Will never return.

Love the Bunny Girl sandwich.. Best hot ham and cheese I've ate since I left Kentucky.. Other than my own homemade one.. Lol.. Ordered this sandwich two days in a row.. That's how good it is

You wouldn't be able to tell from the outside, but then again those are always the best restaurants. A staple of NWI. Will be back.

What is not to love about Lincoln's? We are frequent customers. The bunny girl will always be my favorite sandwich. I've tried many others which have all been good as well.

Just checked in here and got a Steelworker, Bunnygirl, and a Italian Sub! O hush I couldn't make up my mine. I gulped that steelworker down in record time( 2 min). It was great! Got me some strawberry pie too. Love the sandwiches here. Take a trip to get you some. You will not regret it!

This place is and has always been the palce to go if you want a good sandwhich. I know that Subway is the healthy choice for America right now, but if you are going to go on a "cheat" day, go here! Your taste buds deserve it for all the flavor they've been missing.

As others have said here, this place is a cornerstone of the Hobart experience. Lincoln's is a tiny sandwich shop on the corner of, you guessed it, Lincoln Street. It has no fancy menus, no wait staff, no trendy interior or hip fusion food. No, Lincoln's Carry Outs has one sole, singular purpose: serving you the best freaking roast beef sandwich you have had, and ever will have. It is this dogged pursuit of perfection, this single-minded goal, that makes Lincoln's memorable. Literally every person I have ever known who has spent any appreciable amount of their lives in Hobart and moved on will, upon their return to the town for any reason, immediately seek out this modest establishment and indulge in a Steelworker's special, either with or without onions. Their secret? Not really a secret at all, just simple common sense. Fresh French (or rye) bread, baked for half a century in Chicago's Turano bakery in the traditional European style and shipped in by truck daily, combined with thinly-sliced roast beef from local grass-fed farms piled high with lettuce, cheese, tomato, onions and mayo. This is the holy combination of elements that is the Steelworker, the only sandwich worthy of the moniker of the Great Hero of the Rust Belt. Taking a bite into this delicious sandwich is like taking a bite of American history itself. There's really not much I can add to this review, other than I am 700 miles away from Lincoln's and I now crave a Steelworker, and this is a tragic thing.

Reliably amazing sandwiches. Carry out food perfected!

the steelworker sandwich is deeeelicious! the sandwiches are definitely great, but the sides are really pretty basic; mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, onion rings... just a lot of frozen stuff thrown in a deep fryer. my only complaints are that i ordered my fries SUPER crispy (because otherwise they get soggy on the way home) and they were definitely just normally cooked, and i felt like i was talking to charlie brown's teacher on the phone because i could barely understand a word she was saying. not that big of a deal though. overall, my sandwich was so good I'll definitely be back!

Um, duh. Lincoln's Carry Out is one of the reasons I miss living at home. Two things: 1. The Steelworker. ohmigod. 2. The Bunny Girl. ohmigodagain. Love it. You should too.

I went to Lincolns last week and orderd the Itallian Sub. It was great as ever! A great old school sub full of great flavor.

I love this little sandwich shop in the town I grew up. Traditional, no nonsense sandwiches. Love the Lincoln Burger, Steel Worker Special, and Bunny Girl. Yummy fries, onion rings, and deep fried mushrooms. Although I now live 2000 miles away, I always go here when I am back home. It is the only place I make sure to visit when I am in town.

this place is just amazing! the food is good the people are great and I would recommend it any day of the week!
(4)Chad B.
Kind of a dumpy place, but you aren't there to hang out. I got the Steelworker, and my wife got the Bunny Girl. Both were great. I will go back. All the sandwiches look really good.
(5)Marc W.
This place has an array of excellent sandwiches. My favorite is the Steelworker, it is roast beef on rye that is grilled. A close second and third are the bunnygirl and Lincoln club. Even though the inside is not the nicest place to look at, the food quality more than makes up for it. also try the fried Mac and cheese.

I grew up eating here. Although it's just a little sandwich shop, there is no other sandwich shop like it! My favorite has always been the regular Italian sub. My only complaint is that, lately, they have not been dressing the subs as they used to with the oil and salt on the lettuce. But, that's about it. In the past year or so, I stopped eating red meat, so that meant good-bye regular Italian sub. However, the cheese sub is dressed the exact same, so it's just as satisfying. Whenever I come back home for a visit, that visit NEEDS to include a stop (or 4) here! Throw in a diet Snapple and a single serving sized bag of Lays and I'm good to go.

They're famous Italian sub is pretty good...

Been going here for at least 20 years and nothing's ever changed which is great because they have nothing to improve on!
(5)Michael R.
All the sandwiches I've had from here have been great. The prices are a little steep, but the food is good. Definitely don't like the fact that they charge an extra fee if you pay with a card.
(4)Larry K.
Finally we tried this local Hobart sandwich shop we've heard about. Ordered the Steelworker and the Bunny Girl: both were toasted, juicy, and very very tasty. We'll definitely have to go back and try many more of their large menu of sandwiches. This is a small place, mostly carryout, but there are about ten tables/booths to eat inside.

They make a great Lincoln cheese hamburger.Good location and service .Make sure to order ahead and pick up.
(4)Maureen M.
I wish I had discovered this place years ago. They use quality meats and their cole slaw is great! Everyone is friendly.
(5)Mike S.
I've been coming to this place my whole life. It's absolutely the best sandwich spot in Northwest Indiana... bar none ! love em !
(5)Ashley S.
I've been going here all of my life. Everything is wonderful. Highlights for me, the Bunny Girl, steel worker, Italian sub. I've heard great things about the gyros burger. The fried mushrooms are the best I've had anywhere. The coconut cream pie is delish. The baklava is good also. I love that they have Snapple avaliable as well as pop and chips. Their fries and onion rings are so good I don't know why would want chips! I have only one complaint, I wish they prepared their Bosco sticks differently. I do not like them fried at all. I wish there was a baked option. Maybe there is I never thought to ask. Other than that A+. Order ahead, this place can be pretty packed at any given time. Edit: the Gyros cheeseburger is out of control delish. It had cucumbers and the cucumber sauce with onions. A must try if you like gyros!
(5)Karli T.
The steelworker with grilled onions. Enough said. This place is so far from me but when I am in this area a stop here is always in my plans. I LOVE this place.
(5)Ced L.
The Steelworker is always what I order when I stop at Lincoln's...this is the only place I don't have a problem paying $5 for a sandwich...
(5)Mary B.
Great food and good prices!! A small little place, nothing fancy.
