Hadn't been here for years, so went in for a lunch date with a friend. Based on their reputation, I ordered the lake perch luncheon. I also ordered an additional cup of French onion soup along with the salad that came with my meal. The salad was great, terrific dressing and nice fresh greens. The onion soup, on the other hand, hadn't seen an onion proper in quite some time. It was a cup of brown broth with 4 very soggy croutons floating in it and what appeared to be a slice of pre-packaged cheese thrown on top of the liquid. The soup was not even warm enough to melt the cheese in any way, shape, or form. The lake perch fillets were of an extraordinary size that made this native to the Great Lakes wonder if they really were lake perch. The coating was unseasoned and blah. Nice fries, though. I think it will be years before I am back here again.

On our second lobster night this year, this place is awesome we took our Pastor and first Lady the service is outstanding they treat you like family and Mike the owner I wish he could marry me and my husband, but really the food is on point they just keep bringing you delicious little things by the time you get your meal you are full my advice save that last burp for desert. But definitely bring the whole entire family they have adopted my six year old. Can't hardly wait til next time.

A great place to enjoy some lunch. The waiters are really nice. I had the cheeseburger and my wife had the roast beef with peppers. The food was really good. If you are looking for a place to eat and not in a hurry to get back to your daily duties. This is a nice place to kick back and enjoy some local food. The restaurant has a nice size bar to enjoy to favorite drinks. I will be back to try out their dinner menu. They offer great lunch and dinner specials. Enjoy!

This place will take you back to the 70s. It's a local hang out. It's a dive. Food is awful. Everything s fried. Owner is rude and loud. All he does is stand around by the bar and watch people. If you're traveling this is not a place to go for a good meal. Go to Theo's better place and food is awesome.

I really like this spot. I just discovered them recently. Their filet Mignon with melted blue cheese is to die for. Their spaghetti with jumbo shrimp is also good too. They have an accommodating staff and an old style feel to their restaurant. They are a little pricy and they do exaggerate a little on their food descriptions on the menu. Like the grilled chicken breast on the lunch menu they tell you bring your appetite for this one and it's not much bigger than a McDonald's chicken off the value menu. However, it is a very good spot and I would recommend it to anyone. I like the fact that they bring cottage cheese to your table with the bread but they need to bring a bigger bowl of it I can eat what they bring in 2 bites. It's cool too that they will bring a pitcher of tea to my table instead of glass by glass. If your from the area, I would compare Town Club to the former Country Lounge in Hobart IN.

Solid drinks, food, and service. A family favorite!! I refer to the Town club as the Cheers of Highland. My in laws have been coming here for years and whenever we are in town visiting we always drop in (multiple times) for a drink or for dinner. Daily specials are always a good option.. Taco night is a must (Wed). Stop in more than once and you are a regular. No short pours or foo foo food here!!!

Always great food. Steaks are done to order and I've never had a bad experience ordering beef. Perch and bluegill are exceptional, done as well as I do at home. We enjoy sitting at the bar as the crowd is warm and friendly. We always seem to talk to our neighbors and make new friends before we leave. It dawned on me that it seems like I'm sitting in someone's house at a party meeting new folks when I'm at the bar at Town Club. I recommend a visit for the food, service and patrons.

Town Club recently remodeled its bar and eating area therein, and both are much nicer and brighter than before, done as they are in a light oak finish. Raised booths have replaced the tables that used to reside there, and, separated from the bar by a waist-high partition, afford a good view of the bar and its flatscreens, for people and TV watching, respectively, without being too close for comfort to either. My dad, who's elderly and a bit slow on his feet, had no trouble getting in and out of the booths, and we both enjoyed our usual of Dad 'n' Lad combo of frog legs and perch. Looking forward to returning soon.

Really good food and friendly staff. Decor is a bit dated but that would only bother me if the food sucks.

You know this restaurant is quality because if you go there more than once, you are guaranteed to recognize the customers. Its always a good sign when a place has regulars that are there consistently. My wife and I have eaten here a few times and plan to again. The food is excellent. I can strongly recommend the steak tacos on taco night, or the ribs any night. The ribs are honestly some of the best I've ever had. The staff is kind and prompt. I've read the other reviews that say otherwise, but I honestly can't say I've ever had anything but a good experience. The owner/host gives the impression that he genuinely cares about every person that walks through his doors. If you ever get a chance to go there on Lobster night, don't wonder if you should try it, just do it. Its fantastic. The food is very reasonably priced for the quality. I strongly recommend this restaurant for a great meal (and no joke the best martini i've had in NW Indiana).

Been coming here since 1965 or earlier but now only when we visit from out of town. Food is not the quality of prior years. Signature shrimp are anemic looking light tan in color and breading is pasty. Dito for the lake perch. Huge prime rib is large but tough and stringy. Not really freshly roasted but baked earlier and then grilled to order. Might as well have been a ribeye steak. Relish for 5 of us didn't provide a teaspoonful per person. Service is unattentive. Crossing this off my list of favorite places.

Another typical NWI bar/restaurant, the Town Club makes a nice martini. They have these cute little mini tables you get if you want to eat at the bar. I can't describe them but it is like some guy made them in his garage. I love the bar booths and even though it is smoking, usually opt to eat here. The 'regulars' take up most of the bar stools. The Town Club offers burgers, steaks and seafood. You get soup or salad with entrees as well as relishes of beets, coleslaw and cottage cheese. On my last visit I had the ribs and have to say they were some of the best I've had. They are served dry with the sauce on the side. The fries were served 'burned' as requested. The meal was quite good and reasonably priced.

I haven't been here in years...the decor is a bit dated but clean. The bathroom had printed signs all over to remind you-no smoking! I felt like an outsider in a foreign land. When we walked in, the bar side got quiet as we walked in. The host/owner was a bit smug, like he was the only place in town that served food. Well, at least we will get a great steak? Well, our server disappeared all the time...she gave us some bread, said she would bring more. Asked if we wanted beets and bean salad. I excitingly said yes! 45 minutes went by, no bread, beets or bean salad. My husband had to go to the bar to get his beer. We did get our house salads which came with our meal. The server said they had to get lettuce that is why it took so long. well, why couldn't you bring us some bread, beets and bean salad like everyone else had in abundance at their tables? We would have been content and maybe given them another star or 2. Well, the salad was a pitiful amount-maybe a 1/2 cup of lettuce with a cup of garlic dressing on the side. The dressing was really good. My husband ate his salad in one bite. Anyway, after another 20 minute wait another server came out (there were 4 in a pretty small place) with our food. Our sides were wrong and they put my mushrooms on my husbands steak-he hates mushrooms. We just ate fast and got the hell out of there...I did not feel welcome. I felt like it was 1981 and we went back in time.
