I remember spending my summers in Lansing, IL visiting family. We would go to Miner-Dunn at least every couple of weeks. The chili, the burgers, the sherbet were (and are) awesome! Today I happened to be driving back to Chicago from Indianapolis and got off on 30 to take the long way to 294. I was hoping Miner-Dunn would be open, but it is the 4th of July, so I wasn't holding out too much hope. When I came upon the restaurant there were a few cars in the lot, so I decided to stop. I didn't want to sit and eat, so I went to the take out side and ordered a cheeseburger to go. 5 minutes later I was sitting in my car with the gargantuan (I forgot how big) burger. The beef was perfect and almost crumbly. The thin slices of meat were seasoned well and the cheese was of perfect proportion. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I think this is one of the best burger joints in NWI. If you happen to be in the area do yourself a favor and stop by!

I'm not a person who would try a new place out in an unfamiliar area, so this was rare for me. Finding this place on yelp & after reading the reviews we decided to give it a try! What GREAT tasting burgers & fries. They give you that homemade taste with a good choice of burgers on the menu. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone who loves good homemade burgers & fries. The ice cream dreamsicle at the end of your meal will hit home plate!! A place for the family!

You can find good hamburgers at many places in NW Indiana, but I think Miner-Dunn has the best ones. They offer a variety of options, like a cheeseburger or bacon burger, but the proof is in the basic hamburger. It is a nice, large burger with crispy edges, not too thick but not thin enough to need two patties. Of course, you can ad an extra patty to your burger for another $2. And the prices are not bad. The deluxe meal comes with excellent fresh-cut fries and a small dessert. You have your choice of orange sherbet, vanilla ice cream, or a twist of both. Not a huge serving but a nice finish to the meal. The whole meal, including the soft drink, was less than $10. A good value and great food. If you like plastic-wrapped desserts at the cash register, this is the place. Tonight I chose a large chocolate chip cookie over the large brownie.

Stopped here after leaving the shrine of Christ's Passion and it hit the spot. Western burger burger was perfect. Topped it off with a price of pumpkin and pecan pies. Only reason didn't give 5 stars is because it's a bit old inside. I think the place could you a little updating. Recommend to anyone wanting a good big burger and dessert.

A great place for a good old fashioned hamburger. My boys enjoyed them very much and that's all that matters. Their milk shakes are rich and creamy. Perfect. My wife and I shared a fish sandwich with chips. We really enjoyed it. We will be back. Our waitress was really nice and also the manager. A place that has been around for many years still making great burgers is a place to bring the family. We loved it. I hope you do to. Enjoy. #SenorFood

Was just here again within the last month and found not-so-pleasant changes. One of the things I always loved about this place was the big, juicy burgers. I ordered my favorite onion burger on this trip and it just wasn't right; the meat was a smaller portion and seemed dry. I just wasn't enthused about my meal that day.

Old school, no nonsense kind of place. Absolutely love this place and it's food. You almost feel like you're walking into a piece of US41 history considering this place has been doing it right for a long time at a fraction of the price of Schoops (another local legend that is also delicious). the burgers are awesome and so are the cheese fries and Reuben sandwiches. Definitely stop in and treat yourself.

I love places like this!! I ordered the cheese supreme on sourdough bread with lettuce, tomato, and pickle. The ingredients are fresh and the hamburger patties homemade. I got my meal deluxe with a side of crispy fresh cut fries done to perfection. It was a nice change from the usual crinkle cut fries I find at similar burger joints. My favorite part of the meal was the orange sorbet. It was a nice and refreshing end to a delicious meal. The flavor was reminiscent of the Push-Up pops I used to have as a child. The staff was very warm and welcoming, and the establishment a little run down but inviting. I loved the 50s music playing while we waited for our food to arrive. I definitely will be back again. Especially for the homemade pies I was to full to try!!

Hello, FOOD SNOB here. After having Culvers, Red Robin, Five Guys, Meatheads, I think Miner-Dunns original 83 year old Burger is still the best in NW Indiana. With the original Munster Schoops a close second. Miner-Dunns fries puts it ahead. Simply Put.

Great Major Dunn Burger! Service was a bit on the slow side and there was a large family who was very loud that made it almost hard to hear the person with me. The burger made up for the slow service.

Sometimes you just NEED a well-crafted burger! Since I no longer live in the Region, my visit "back home" isn't complete without a stop for a Miner-Dunn burger. On Tuesday, my dad and I went there for lunch. We were seated right away and had a very cheerful waitress. I had the Salad Burger Deluxe and dad got just a plain burger. When they served our food, dad's plate had fries. We told the server right away that he didn't order the fries. Immediately, the guy serving the food, not our waitress, was very kind and said he would take the fries off our bill and added that my dad was welcome to keep and enjoy them or he could remove them from the plate if we preferred. Later the waitress stopped by to check on us and apologized for the mix up with the fries and repeated that she was taking them off the bill. It was nice to be treated with kindness and enjoy a tasty lunch! Great burgers that are not greasy! Fries are pretty tasty, too! :)

Totally random road trip stop while driving through Indiana. Bring from Milwaukee, we have our own burger wars and while I personally don't think this burger would hold up against my home town heavy hitters, it was an overall solid diner experience. Loved the sourdough bread option and the English cheese, bringing something a little different, I appreciate that. Totally old school diner experience. Plus, homemade sherbet and soft serve served in a little dixie cup?!?!? Ummm...Yes. Totally a one of a kind experience, if you ever find yourself in HIghland, IN, give this greasy spoon a try.

This place has been around forever and looks like it too. They must be doing something right! Just note that this place reminds me of the diner set from the TV show 2 Broke Girls. It's old and some of the ceiling tiles need to be replaced, ledges are dusty. That's the bad... But you can consider this place to be a "greasy spoon". So... The burgers are tasty but they are thin. The edges of the burgers are slightly crispy like at Schoops. A lot of people compare these 2 burger joints. At Schoops I can't get onions on my burger without mass pain later but here I have no problem. I love onions on a burger so that makes me happy!! The fries here have a little skin on them and are mostly good but can be a hit or miss by being soggy or overdone. The shakes here are awesome and so is the strawberry pie!!! I don't know much about the rest of the menu because I come here for a burger!! Even if this isn't your "go-to" burger place come here at least once since this place has been here forever.

There's nothing I love more than a good hamburger, fries, and a shake. I've tried them all around the region, nothing comes close Miner Dunn. You get all that for a song and they throw in some orange sherbet. Great old diner atmosphere, great staff. The best!
(5)

Their foods are great. The handmade hamburger patties taste wonderful and their fries are cooked to perfection. they make some of the best malts and milkshakes around as well. I would suggest getting your food to go because the place is in dire need of a good cleaning or even remodeling. While the kitchen area is not bad ,the seats, tables and booths leave much to be desired.

If you live in Da Region, you typically fall into one of two local burger joint camps: Miner-Dunn or Schoop's. I like 'em both honestly, but much like Chicago baseball, you gotta fall into one camp or the other, or you're not a true fan of either. So if I gotta Sophie's choice it, I'll go with Miner-Dunn. More often than not, their burgers come out fresh and tasty, but not too heavy and greasy, like Schoop's can sometimes. Plus, I do love the hand cut fries and onion rings, so the slight edge goes to Miner-Dunn.

This place gets my vote over Schoops. Excellent burgers, great service, and way cheaper. The inside could use a little remodeling, which may have gotten them the extra star, but I wouldn't touch the food, service, or price. I have sent several friends here , and they all loved it

This place is AMAZING!!! I happened to be in the area with some friends one day. We were trying to decide where to eat and I suggested we try this place. It was one of the best decisions I think I ever made! EVERYONE who works here is super friendly!!!!! We were seated immediately. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger deluxe (deluxe means that it comes with fries and a scoop of ice cream or orange sherbet). My friends also ordered burgers. I'm not kidding when I say the service is LIGHTNING FAST. It seemed like our food arrived before my friends and I even finished a conversation. Everything looked great. Also, the waitress was very attentive and super nice! As soon as I took one bite of my burger, I knew this place was going to be one of my favorite restaurants. The burgers are huge and the fries are homemade and so delicious! The burger was flavorful, it had the perfect amount of seasoning. The bun was fresh and soft. The orange sherbet was also delicious and a nice little treat after the meal! And they're not expensive! For under $10, I got a huge bacon cheeseburger, a nice portion of fries, a scoop of ice cream and pop with free refills. My friends and I liked it so much we went back the very next day for dinner, even though it's kind of far from where we live. Miner Dunn has easily become my favorite place to go when I want a burger. I will gladly go out of my way to go here!

I drove by this restaurant for years without stopping in to try out the food...Alot of wasted years. The food is GREAT! The first time I tried their signature burger with the fried egg, Yum. The second time I went... just a couple of days later I had the Corned Beef. Juicy and tender, not dried out like so many other places. Good Food. Friendly Staff. I felt like I was transported back in time. Thanks for the great food.

One our our favorites. This retro burger joint still does it right after 80 plus years with great burgers, fries and soups - all home made and delicious. No big corporate mystery experimental "food" here. Love the unique English cheese and the choice of sourdough or rye instead of a bun. Wrap it up with a orange sherbet/vanilla twist that tastes like a dreamsicle and you're good to go!

If you love a good hamburger, give them a try. Their onion rings are a perfect compliment to the burgers.

Love this place! It's perfect for a family night out. The kids love it! Who doesn't want a sherbet swirl!!!! Brings back many memories. Anyone who grew up in highland has to love the giant juice burgers. A+ from me!!!!!!! Oldie but goodie!!!!!!

Great burger joint! My older sister has bugging me about this place, so I decided to give it at try. You can literally get a soup and a burger all under $10, assuming you won't order any drinks beyond a water which I didn't. When it comes to restaurants, I am the piggy guy who wants to each as much for the least so figures that the Minor Dunn Burger for around $5.00, which literally what it was called on the menu, was the way to go topped with everything (except pickles, I'm not a big fan of pickles). Their potato soup was very rich, creamy and delicious and served with crackers. Along with the burger, you also get fries and an ice cream sherbert. Their fries BTW, are AMAZING and is probably what fast food fries look those of McDonalds or Burger King would have tasted like if they didn't undergo corporate status. The only bitsy problem was my burger was big, not ginormous but I will remind myself to top it with a bunch of extra crap later (cheese, onions which costs extra)! They also have a separate room for take-out orders.

This place has been around forever and I've been going there since I was a kid. They have a wide variety of burgers with different toppings. I really like their burgers because they are thinner and the burger is not overwhelmed by a huge bun (good burger to bun ratio). The fries are great, cut right at the restaurant, would be nice to see other options like sweet potato fries. Good place for families, very economical. The interior could stand some updating but this place is solid otherwise. Oh, amazing strawberry pie when in season!!!

Was pretty excited coming inside after reading other reviews. And I'll have to compare to Schoop's as well, since that is what I came in here comparing. Schoops definitely has the leg up. Their burgers are over-flowing out of the bun. Here was regular sized and regular tasting. As another reviewer commented, I am also confuse about their "famous" fries. They are fresh cut, but rate a 3 out of 10... Lastly are their shakes. I had the cherry, based on another yelper's review. It was good but.......it is made with soft serve from the machine, not real ice cream. (McDonald's anyone?) Schoops uses milk and real ice cream... Overall, I won't be back. P.S. The old 80's feel inside this place truly is awesome though. It makes you forget about the electronic fast-paced world we live in, and takes you back to the good ol' days.

I may change this review if I go, but for now.. sure would love to know what Miner Dunn burgers taste like. But, I don't know. Because I went in there at 10:42 the other night. It said on the door that they closed at 11, but they told me the kitchen was shut down. So, I asked, "then why are you guys open till 11?" A waitress told me, "well, we're not just gonna kick people out." Okay, at every other restaurant I've ever been to, "open till 11" means if you're in the door by 11, you get the full deal. Don't want to give people service after 11? Close at ten! Otherwise, I pose this question. What time IS the time to get in the door before the mythical closing of the kitchen? 10:42? 10:19? 9:53? That's too arbitrary. You're a business right? You like money, right? If the door is open at 11, and I just want a burger to go... you don't want to take my money and sell me the burger to go?

As others have said, this has been around NWI for a long time....I can remember my dad talking about my grandparents going there as a stop off point on a Sunday drive. This place looks straight out of the 50s/60s but the food is great....every time I go I have the mushroom burger with the veggie soup. An added bonus is they give you sherbert with the deluxe plate. In addition, their homemade pies are excellent. With decent prices and great food, this is the perfect spot to get a dose of "comfort food" Happy Eating!

ah, the last of the Mohicans. not many burger places that aren't corporate anymore. I have had consistently good food and service here. maybe because its not corporate ran, the actual owners may be around overseeing operations! comfy vintage decor, I hope they don't invest money in upgrading as once places do that, the food suffers, I notice. I always get the salad burger here. I like the toasted bun too. It is so much tastier than the cold bag potholder buns you get in the chicago restaurants. I love the homemade vegetable soup too. Also, get the hot beef sandwich(open faced, with the mashed potatoes and gravy) it is excellent and nothing to sidestep(if you tire of burgers). the fresh cut fries are ok, but not really my favorite when it comes to fries, they could do better here. the sherbet is a standard but its soft serve and if you like that ok, but am not of fan of soft serve. the tuna salad sandwich was lame, I would skip it. also, the strawberry pie is made locally and when in season, try a piece esp if it was made that day, it is wonderfulll! I hear the pumpkin pie is good too, and plan to try it in the fall. I have seen people go in just to have pie!

Better Burgers Than Schoops! Yes, Really! Everything is homemade at Miner Dunn. That roast beef sandwich you're eyeballing? Yep, that was a beef round, roasted in the oven and then sliced to order. The fries and onion rings are hand cut. Soups, pies, fried chicken--EVERYTHING is homemade. This place deserves a lot more love than it seems to be getting here. The real reason to come is the 1930s style burgers--big and delicious, expertly cooked every time. It is similar to Schoops--ground daily, hand made patties cooked to order--but I have to give Dunn the nod.

I was a little thrown off by the fact that this isn't a drive-thru....I just guess I drove past so many times that I just assumed. One of my coworkers, who is a local, has been telling me to go here for WEEKS now and I should have listened to him sooner. I had a cheeseburger with onion rings on it. It was GREAT! I didn't realize that you have to ask for veggies separately, they don't just come on it automatically. The burgers are hand-made, not frozen/pre-formed. The french fries were also really good here. And to top off your dinner, you can get orange sorbet, orange/vanilla swirl, or just vanilla. Yum! I haven't had orange/vanilla swirl since I was a kid!

I went with my family today and the food was amazing don't get me wrong, but 1 server there was absoutly rude, I was just getting up to put my coat on and apparently i didnt see her and didn't hear her the first time, so she screamed "excuse me" really loud and that upsetted me and my family how rude she was... If i have have her as my server next time I go there im asking for a new one.. you dont treat people that eat there like that.... RUDE

Been going here since Kiddieland was down the road. Nice taste of good old fashioned American food. We love the burgers and the kids chicken fingers. Shakes are thick and tasty. Be sure to get the free sherbet with your meal so you can dip your fries in it. I know that sounds crazy but its good.
Use to go here more often than I do now. Great chesseburgers - fantastic sherbert! It has changed owners only three times since its Grand Opening, so everything is pretty much the same; nothing's really changed. Friendly wait staff and good prices. It has that "family atmosphere" that most restaurants would spend millions to capture. Perfect place for taking that first date, or the entire family before or after the movies.

Living in Arizona for the past 20 years Miner Dunn is always a must stop when returning to N W Indiana. The Mushroom burger with Onion Rings was my dinner of choice and it was just the same good burger that it was Years ago. I had to chuckle when discussing the decor with my dining partners as it has not changed in the past 20 years along with the recipes. I hope this establishment is around for another decade or two, Highland Indiana just wouldn't be the same without it.

We were staying with a friend in NWI and decided to stick around the area for lunch before going to the Cubs game that evening. Miner Dunn caught our eye and in we walked. I know that some people have written on here about the decor - honestly, it was like any other hole in the wall diner that I've been too. No it hasn't been updated, but that add to the whole experience. The place was clean and our waitress was pretty on top of things like refilling our beverages and giving us updates on when the food would be out. I ordered the cheese supreme, which is sort of like a patty melt, but without the onions (though I suppose they could have done that for you if you asked). The burger was good and was nestled in between two pieces of cheese. The grilled bread - heavenly. You could taste the butter they used on the grill to get it to that perfect shade of brown. My son ordered a burger as did his dad. They were quickly consumed so I can't imagine they had any complaints. For dessert, I noticed that a lot of patrons received the sherbert in the dixie cups, but we were craving malts, so ordered two chocolate ones. They came out with whipped cream and sprinkles on top and were great. It's hard to find a place that still serves malt milkshakes! Next time we are up visiting, we will definitely go back to Miner Dunn's for their burgers and cheese fries!

This is a classic diner, and when you walk in, you'll see that right away. The decor looks like it is straight out of the 50's, but don't let that deter you, good food awaits. Their burgers are thin flat top cooked burgers, so don't come here expecting a half pound burger. Fries are hand cut, crispy and delicious! The "deluxe" version of hamburgers includes fries and soft server sherbet, it is well worth the $2.00 upgrade. The service here is outstanding. Our waitress had tables all over the restaurant yet managed to be very attentive and very friendly to us. Our food took a very short time to cook, and we were able to get in and out of the restaurant in 30 minutes. If you're in the area and looking to avoid a chain restaurant be sure to check out Miner Dunn!

Growing up about a 2 minute drive from Miner-Dunn, I have eaten here countless times. In all those visits, I don't think I've ever ordered anything besides the Salad Burger. Just think of a Big Mag, except old-fashioned, diner-style. The burgers are decent size, but I think it's best to order double meat with extra sauce. I just had one tonight, and my mouth is watering just typing this. Go to Miner Dunn NOW and get yourself a burger--if this place were to ever close I would be devastated!!!

As others have stated, Miner Dunn is an NWI staple. It's a diner that's been around for quite some time. Must haves: burgers, vegetable soup, shakes, and sherbert. Very cheap and good food. Cannot say much more. Don't forget your sherbert!

No Review needed. This place is an NWI staple! Classic, homey and good food for the soul & tummy. Every time I come *home* to NWI, I have to eat here. It's a must! Sherbert & french fries, a Miner-Dunn standard & also part of my family food "traditions." (love it! ;-D)

This long time hamburger establishment is a throw back to the days before McDonald's dotted the landscape. This nostalgic bit of Northwest Indiana history on Route 30 is well worth a visit down memory lane before all the mega stores and chain restaurants were around. Good hamburgers... a friendly staff and a bit of home cooking Americana. It's worth stopping in and enjoying some old time hospitality.

Ok, This is a qualified review, qualified in the fact that the 5 star rating is not necessarily for any one particular thing. I mean, if your getting a steak, you go to Del Friscos or S&W. If you want the best in dining atmosphere there are any number of places in NYC, Chicago, LA, or Dallas you can attend for amazing service and food. If, however, you want a great hamburger with great service in a place that has not changed in 40 years than you need look no further than Miner-Dunn. I mean, this place is just great. They don't make any claim to be anything but a warm, friendly, modestly priced restaurant and they do it as good as anyone. The food is, and always has been, solid. The Onion Rings are utterly original and I have not had their like anywhere. The Burger may be the best I have ever had and remains so each time I have it. The fries are nearly always perfect and what can you say about a place that offers a little cup of Sherbet after the meal!!! I have been coming here from 1974 when I was just old enough to walk and it has never disappointed. If I can say only one thing about Minor-Dunn, it's that it makes me happy. Now how many places can say that ?? For that, it gets every star!!!

I used to love Miner Dunn when I was younger. However, the place is plain old dirty and rundown nowadays. I tried it again last year and won't be there again unless they do a clean up of that store.

ok well first off my great-grandparents ate at this place....so you would think thats a good thing.....yanno been im businees forever must be doing something right..... but the possibillities of this place are endless....this could be the diner we all want and wish to have in our neighborhoods... but they make a ok hamburger that for some reason people here think is the best thing since....well, since hamburgers.....but thats about all.... the burgers are all hand made which is great...but too thin for my taste....always med or well done the times i have had them....fries never seem done.....people also come here for the fried chicken but i dont know why.....seems more like its *oven fried* than actually fried...none of that crunchy crust that makes yur first bite worthwhile.... service is always friendly and attentive....drinks refilled prompty....AND you get a small FREE cup of sherbet for dessert :-) ..... but the food just does not make it a trip i want to take.....

I can't tell you how happy Miner Dunn hamburgers make me. First of all, it's a known fact that Chicago is not a hamburger town (other than it being the birth place of McDonald's). Admit it. We've got pizza and hot dogs, but as for hamburgers, well, they're just not that great. So when you want a really good burger, you have to head to Northwest Indiana for a Schoop's or Miner Dunn burger. These babies are tried and true steak burgers, pan-grilled in all their tasty juices so you're no skimping out any flavor at all. Pile on a some relish and onions, and you've got yourself the perfect burger. Miner Dunn is supposedly "known" for their fries, since they're hand-cut. I actually don't like them all that well. They're a bit too soft for me...but that's just me. I like my fries extra thin and crispy. The shakes, on the other hand, are incredible. Piped off with fresh whipped cream, the chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla are so tasty, but the cherry is my favorite! It's made with cherry syrup--probably artificial--but that's why it tastes so good! I've had real cherry shakes and, quite frankly, they're pretty gross. I prefer that vintage taste of phosphate syrups.

The last time I was in there the place looked especially dirty. The vents against the wall looked like they hadn't been washed in years. The burger bun was soggy on the bottom and one of our guests saw a mouse run across the floor. I have given up on this place.

Xamyma O.
I grew up in Northwest Indiana - nuff said. Miner Dunn is nothing. PLEASE don't waste your time driving all the way out here for that. It LOOKS like it may be good, authentic, etc., but it is NOT. The burgers are pounded thin, generally cooked well done, and, if you have any affinity toward heartburn, I guarantee you'll have an outbreak within 30 mins of eating one of these burgers. Fries are sub par too. Ice creams probably the best thing there, but as Marisa R. notes, it's hardly "fresh" ingriedients. AVOID. Miner-Dunn does have one thing going for it - it's better than Schoops, which BLOWS.
(1)
Roger B.
When I first went here I couldn't believe how good the burgers were -- like something I tasted as a kid and had never been able to find again. The burgers are thin but oh are they good! The fries are good too. Pass up fast food and try Miner-Dunn!
(4)
Christina M.
This place isn't that bad, but there are a lot of places that are better. Their burgers are pretty good, but their fries are awful. Schoops is way better.

(2)John T.
(5)Beth P.

Simply Put.
(5)Ryne W.
Great Major Dunn Burger! Service was a bit on the slow side and there was a large family who was very loud that made it almost hard to hear the person with me. The burger made up for the slow service.

This place definitely needs a little updating or a serious cleaning I found the man's socks under the table I was sitting at.

(3)Leslie L.
(3)Brian A.
There's nothing I love more than a good hamburger, fries, and a shake. I've tried them all around the region, nothing comes close Miner Dunn. You get all that for a song and they throw in some orange sherbet. Great old diner atmosphere, great staff. The best!
(5)Steve L.
(4)Davin L.
(3)Brian Y.
This place gets my vote over Schoops. Excellent burgers, great service, and way cheaper. The inside could use a little remodeling, which may have gotten them the extra star, but I wouldn't touch the food, service, or price. I have sent several friends here , and they all loved it
(5)Raven W.
(5)Dal C.
(4)John F.
(5)David C.
If you love a good hamburger, give them a try. Their onion rings are a perfect compliment to the burgers.
(4)Mark M.
I do like Minner Dunn and Schoops, but I give the edge to Minner Dunn because of price. Much cheaper than Schools.
(4)Jody C.
Love this place! It's perfect for a family night out. The kids love it! Who doesn't want a sherbet swirl!!!! Brings back many memories. Anyone who grew up in highland has to love the giant juice burgers. A+ from me!!!!!!! Oldie but goodie!!!!!!
(5)Lakan D.
(5)Marc G.
(4)James P.

(5)J J.
ah, the last of the Mohicans. not many burger places that aren't corporate anymore.
(5)J. G. P.
(5)Joey T.
(4)Ashley C.
RUDE
(1)Edward W.
(5)Don D.
is three stars average? Not really a 4 star place despite all the talk of everything hand made! the décor is old fashion and its pretty cool! the burgers are not huge there tasty but it feels like the place that skimps on everything. the fries are nothing to write home about and they were out of there famous sherbert the day I was there. Sure I would go back if I was with somebody but I really think schoops has a better burger. Anyway M-D is a place worth visiting at least once......
(3)James P.
(5)Walter J.
(4)David S.
Great food, great service, nice lil diner feel

(4)Joseph P.
(5)Dan N.
(4)Earlie C.
As others have stated, Miner Dunn is an NWI staple. It's a diner that's been around for quite some time. Must haves: burgers, vegetable soup, shakes, and sherbert. Very cheap and good food. Cannot say much more. Don't forget your sherbert!
(4)Sherry V.
No Review needed. This place is an NWI staple! Classic, homey and good food for the soul & tummy. Every time I come *home* to NWI, I have to eat here. It's a must! Sherbert & french fries, a Miner-Dunn standard & also part of my family food "traditions." (love it! ;-D)
(5)John Y.
(4)Scott G.
(5)Melinda V.
My boyfriend and I went here for dinner the other night and were pleasantly surprised. We really wanted an authentic burger and shake spot and that is what we got, 100%. Service was really nice and the food was tasty. Loved the sherbet ending!
(4)Vicki L.
My hubby and I absolutely LOVE this place! They have really good fries and their burgers are awesome! If your looking for good old fashioned burger & fries this is the place. Definately great hang over food!
(5)Trtman W.
I used to love Miner Dunn when I was younger. However, the place is plain old dirty and rundown nowadays. I tried it again last year and won't be there again unless they do a clean up of that store.
(2)Kylie B.
ok well first off my great-grandparents ate at this place....so you would think thats a good thing.....yanno been im businees forever must be doing something right..... but the possibillities of this place are endless....this could be the diner we all want and wish to have in our neighborhoods... but they make a ok hamburger that for some reason people here think is the best thing since....well, since hamburgers.....but thats about all.... the burgers are all hand made which is great...but too thin for my taste....always med or well done the times i have had them....fries never seem done.....people also come here for the fried chicken but i dont know why.....seems more like its *oven fried* than actually fried...none of that crunchy crust that makes yur first bite worthwhile.... service is always friendly and attentive....drinks refilled prompty....AND you get a small FREE cup of sherbet for dessert :-) ..... but the food just does not make it a trip i want to take.....
(2)Brian H.
I have very fond memories of Miner-Dunn..... I used to go there with my grandfather quite regularly. Their hamburgers were great !!!!! And who can resist orange sherbet in a little paper cup huh???
(4)Mary B.
Great food, the burgers are simply awesome. I love this place, there should be one on every corner.
(4)Meow P.
(5)B H.
The last time I was in there the place looked especially dirty. The vents against the wall looked like they hadn't been washed in years. The burger bun was soggy on the bottom and one of our guests saw a mouse run across the floor. I have given up on this place.
(2)Xamyma O.
(1)Roger B.
When I first went here I couldn't believe how good the burgers were -- like something I tasted as a kid and had never been able to find again. The burgers are thin but oh are they good! The fries are good too. Pass up fast food and try Miner-Dunn!
(4)Christina M.
This place isn't that bad, but there are a lot of places that are better. Their burgers are pretty good, but their fries are awful. Schoops is way better.
(3)
