Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

We had never been to any Gelsosomo's locations, so we had no other location to compare this visit to. Our waitress helped us make our pizza choice decision. We were going to make our own topping choice. She suggested to go with the 7 cheese and then add what we wanted. We did this, adding spinach, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Incredible! Even though there are 7 cheeses, it's the combination of cheeses that makes it good. It's about the equivalent of "extra cheese" somewhere else. We sat in the bar area and it wasn't too loud or anything. They had a decent amount of daily specials to choose from. Definitely a new local favorite!

The food was good until I went to the bathroom and spotted a roach on the wall. Needless to say we didn't spend another second in that place.

We went on a Tuesday around 4:30 pm and were one of the only tables in the facility. I thought it would be a good thing and we would get great service but I was wrong. Our waitress was very nice and friendly but forgot our drinks not once but 2 times when we asked for refills. By this time we were the only table in the building. Since we didn't eat all day, we decided to start off with two appetizers: the Chicken Quesadillas and the Southwest Egg Rolls. The egg rolls were really good but the chicken in the quesadillas was super tough and hardly edible. Plus we decided to order the Banana Bread beer since I heard it was really good. Our waitress told us they had ran out and we decided to try the Magic Hat #9 fruit beer. Not my cup of tea but it wasn't too bad. My daughter ordered the kids Mac and Cheese which was basic out of the box macaroni. Since she's a picky eater we had no issues there. My boyfriend ordered the Texas Barbecue Cheeseburger. He said it was really good even though his fries were a bit over cooked. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan. Very tough chicken (I should have known better because of the appetizer) on a small amount of spaghetti noodles. The sauce they put on top was so much that it made the food taste like pure marinara, nothing else. All in all, I wasn't very impressed with the food or the service. I would guess that the food would taste 10 times better after I had five or six beers...depending on if they were in stock or not.

Poor service. Bad food. Asked server questions about the menu and she stared at us like it was rocket science.

Usually I'll forgive anything (high prices, idiot teen workers) for a 5 star pizza (see my Arrenello's review for proof) but I'll ding this place a little bit. This is the kind of place where you might order a pizza and they'll call you ten minutes later to tell you they're out of some topping, or some side, or whathaveyou. It's happened three times already, and they've never offered any concession or credit or coupon or anything. That ticks me off. But I keep going back because.... The pizza, of course. As most people know, it's exceptional. The first time I had it, it tasted like a knockoff of Aurelio's, but I gotta say, they've won me over. Try the plain cheese - it's phenomenal. Their biggest pizzas are 15", which is much smaller than most NWI pies, and they're over $20+ each. Well, unless you have a coupon, which brings me to my next point. They currently offer VERY competitive coupons, presumably to break into the lake county market. The locations out near Valpo don't get these awesome coupons. Once they take those away from the Highland location, I can't see myself going as often.

We love the pepperoni pizza! So good! Also the pretzel and beer cheese is great! And their salads are delicious! I have tried a couple other menu items, but from now on i just stick to what i know is really good. The service i have had has been mediocre. The servers need more training.

The best pizza I've eaten in a long, long time. Excellent wings also.

Outstanding ... Food and service were great. The waitress remembered what we all liked to drink from our first visit.

Been here before, wasn't too pleased. This time was better. Pizza was good. I had the sliders, could've used some sauce though. Garlic parmesan fries, excellent. Traditional wings mild were excellent. Waitress was very friendly. Definitely a different experience this time around!

Are you serious!!! I rather eat at Pizza Hut. Pizza tastes like a tombstone I threw in my oven on a late drunken night. This pizza is terrible won't ever be ordering from here again so many better options in the area. You are crazy to think this is good pizza!

I should have known this place would be disappointing when I tried to order using the menu's roman numerals and the person on the phone had no clue, and then asked me what was on each pizza after I told him the name. Pizza arrived cold and looked put together by a lackadaisical teenager, sloppy. Crust was soft and soggy. For $25 bucks nothing makes this pizza worth trying again. Too bad.

Having grown up in Portage, I have had the original Gelsosomo's so many times and just loved it. So I was excited to hear that they were opening one right here in Highland. WOW! They absolutely did not let me down. In fact the crust is such an improvement not that it was ever bad. This Pizza is hands down the best in Highland. If you like Sanfratello's or Aurelios you will love this pizza, same type of sauce with a far superior crust. They just opened up so I have only had a chance to do a carry out order, They have an extensive menu though. The place looks really nice inside, and has a full bar, No Delivery yet, but I imagine after they get over the huge opening rush they'll have that available. As far as service, everyone was really friendly and on their game at least from a carry out side. I'll update if I dine in.

The hamburgers and garlic parmesian fries were great and we went twice for them. On our third visit we tried the Pizza and didn't care for it. Before they call it a LUXURY BAR they should get a blender, because they can't make anything that requires one.

Tried a couple pies from the Schererville location. I usually like any pizza but this was just terrible. The cheese had a funky texture, it was way too salty, and boy did it do a number on my stomach. This is the only pizza place I can think of where I'll likely never go back.

I'm only giving two stars because the drinks are good! That's all the food wasn't up to par nothing like the one Portage. First time here I had these expectations got shot down. I think they lack in guest service and got sick from food. Thought naw not this place but it wasn't the same nor the taste. So second time here we go... Nope same thing. So I will not be going back and if I do it's only for drinks.. Convenient for me cause its within walking distance lol

Awful!!! I should have known something was up when no one was eating there-just drinking. Server looked like a wanna bee hooters server. My Greek salad had black olives and the house dressing is a Greek one-it tasted like a super sweet Italian-yuk. My husband ordered pizza, it had cheap cheese on it-the kind that is flavorless and salty. Will. Not. Go. Back.

First visit and I won't be back Terrible service and worse food.I've had better pizza from a gas station. The worst.

Tried this pizza instead of our usual pick (Aurelio's) and we were not disappointed. This location just opened and the dining room was busy on Wednesday late afternoon. The service was fast and friendly. The crust was crispy and the sauce is similar to Aurelio's. Stella on tap for $3 was refreshing on hot summer day. The kids chicken tenders had good portion and the large bowl of ice cream for dessert included in the price was a nice touch.
