So were out looking for cars all day long, it's 2:00 pm I have a 4 pm appointment and I'm in that crunch zone of looking to eat something without waiting and be on time. I also have to eat clean, I know, I know. Haven't been to a GC in a while figure I can hit the veggies (no one else will) and load up on protein, they can't mess that up. Hit the salad bar, not bad but not great, lot's of it looked like it came right out of a bag, and would it hurt you to cut up the peppers and onions? Those things along with the broccoli are almost whole. Found some bad romaine, spinach was nothing to write home about, proteins were just ok, chicken decent, roast beef looked good but was dry, I even ate pork. Everything is salty as all get out. On a side note why is everybody there 75 and above? I know old people have to eat too, but why is this a geriatric hang out? Tipped the "waitress" $2 because I knew for sure she wasn't getting anything from anybody else. Plus does everyone have to be 300 lbs? C'mon people, respect yourself. Just because it's a buffet doesn't mean you have to eat everything in order to feel like you got your moneys worth. Shelled out $25 along with the tip, buffet was $8 something, an unsweet tea was $2.09 (yikes) I'm not a food snob but this was just doable and that's about it.

I happen to be in the vicinity of Golden Corral, and decided to stop in and give it another chance. When GC first came to Indy it was a great place to go to for years. I went two or three times a month. The price was reasonable and food was really good. However, about 3-4 years ago things really changed. It got so bad about two years ago that I stopped eating there. What's strange is their prices kept going sky high but the food quality just kept going down. Today I decided to give it another chance and it was terrible. The place is dirty and several "clean plates" had food stuck to them. It was a Monday about 12:30 and the place had customers but wasn't busy. However, the staff could not keep the hot station stocked. 20 minutes for mash potatoes. Several other trays were empty or close to empty. The quality of most of the food has gone way down. GC still does a few things right when it comes to the food, overall it is just low quality food. The service is OK, but nothing like it use to be when they first came to town. Bottom line with drink and a tip about $14.00 for lunch and not even close to being worth it. Today is the last day I will ever eat at GC. Most likely they will close just like some of the other buffets that have closed in recent years due to poor quality food. You can get a few suckers to overpay, but with yelp and other similar sites, there are much better restaurants to spend my money at. I don't mind paying more for good quality food, but I am not paying high prices for below average food like Golden Corral has on its buffet.

They offer all three meals at all times. Very nice. They offer plenty of food choices, so you have a chance at healthy foods, as well as not so healthy items. The salad bar is a must, lots of vegetable & fruit items there. The desert bar was entertaining. We tried chocolate covered strawberries, fudge chocolate brownies iced, but there were many other options to choose. Chicken livers, fried chicken & ham. Pastas & rice were available. Many cooked vegetables, done just right and they still had some life in them. I really dislike soggy veggies, so that made my day. Overall, the place has some great offerings & quite a variety.

So Golden Corral is notorious as a buffet, and sometimes not in a good way. However I have found that Sunday brunches are pretty decent for the price. I'm a breakfast guy and an establishment has to be pretty bad to do that , although I've been a victim. So long story short I'm here to get full, people watch and enjoy the Sunday solidarity.

Usually these buffets provide tons of food and sacrifice taste and quality for quantity. Today, while out tooling around, my wife wanted to eat at a buffet. This GC was the closest one to where we were, and so....away we went. We haven't eaten at this GC in a very long time. Why.....the first sentence in this review is why. GC, especially the ones in the Indy area are notorious for producing mass amounts of food that the endless stream of people gobble down without any regard to taste or quality. So with those very low expectations, we were very, very surprised to discover that someone.....maybe a food God....has taken GC over and put their fingerprint on a new feel and a very good taste. At first glance, the place looked the same. But you quickly notice that they have added some new looks and new practices that are very good. Before, you had to wait for some waiter/waitress to find our and give you this stack of plates that you would use to go get your food. Now, they have a central distribution point where all the forks and knives are located and ton of hot clean plates to grab on your way up to the trough. The food quality has vastly increased. My wife was the first to say something about how good the food tasted and I was quick to agree. So was it something some one is going to fly from France to Indy to experience....please..its GC....even at its best you aren't going to drive one county over to get it. But if you are looking for a good feed bag....unlimited feed bag at that...that is clean, hot and tasty....well this is a good choice. Will I go back. Heck ya! I am an old Cajun and a buffet is a gift from God! And who am I to disagree with the Gods!
