Horrible steak but great service. Zero stars if possible.

We are rarely in the area, however whenever we are, we seem to stop in at Montana Mike's. Let me tell you how our latest visit went. We arrived on a Sunday at around 4 pm. It looked fairly empty, so we thought it'd be a good place to stop for a quick early dinner. Inside, there were folks at maybe five tables in the entire restaurant. We waited at the counter for a staff member to show up to seat us. That took a while. When he did arrive, he said it would "be a minute" while they prepared a table. The place was basically empty. But anyway. We waited for at least ten minutes for the guy to come back and seat us, and when he does, they stick us in the most awkward location, next to the kitchen, where staff members were squeezing past us the entire time we were there. Once seated, we waited another ten minutes to be acknowledged by our server. She was nice, though! We didn't order anything extravagant; a salad, a burger, a kids meal and some chips. It took FOREVER to get our food. While we waited, we got to listen to the guy that seated us joke around with a friend (who was dining) with loud profanities. That's fine and dandy I suppose, but my 6 year old daughter was with us and immediately repeated the words she's not heard much of before. Not super professional, if you ask me. The food wasn't great. I had the feeling the "greens" in my salad were soon to be "browns." The burger was... just a burger. And the kid's meal grilled cheese was so full of solidified melted cheese it was kind of gross to look at. It'd been sitting around for a while before it was brought out to us. So.... I think the next time we are in the area, we will find another stop and will avoid Montana Mike's.

We happened to be in the area for a memorial service as a family and decided to grab something to eat after as we are rarely all together. We were fortunate that they were not crowded. I had the ribs and there were cooked to perfection, my wife had a very small steak and seasonal vegetables and this was cooked to perfection as well. Our service was good, a little slow on the drink refills. We were pleased that they serve Sun King Beer, it was getting it delivered to the table timely that was an issue. Their menu is a bit pricey when compared to similar steakhouses. I would go again if on that side of town.

This is a typical chain steakhouse in my opinion. Had the smells outside represented the food inside it would have been great. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way. The waitress was pretty slow when it came to drinks and follow up. My food tasted ok, but lacked some quality flavor. Added seasonings and some steak sauce and it was fairly decent. Pricing was a little high in comparison to competition.

Worst steak ever over salted like they were trying to cover up bad meat will never eat there again

Service was good and prompt but food not so good. Chicken fried steak undercooked and husbands chicken dry. I think going to Culver's across the street would have been much better.

Where to start. We were promptly seated only to be ignored by our server for 20 minutes. We then got up and asked to be seated to another section where we could get service. The hostess apologized and put us in a new section. Our old server then came over to our new table just to say how he was extremely busy and didn't see us sitting there (even though he walked by us a minimum of 5 times). We ordered and the food was good and at the end of the night the manager came over and gave us some wooden coins that were for a free appetizer on our next visit to compensate for our wait earlier. Fast forward to about 3-4 months later. We returned for dinner and was seated after a short wait. Our server came over and we showed her the coin for the free appetizer. She said she hand never seen one and needed to ask her boss about it. She then came back to say they do not honor them and could not accept it. The exact same restaurant that gave us the wooden coin doesnt honor them?! I told her how we got them and that there must be a mistake. She assured me there was no mistake and she couldn't take them. We then left and took our business elsewhere. I doubt we will ever go back.

Update. Was contacted by the resteruant with an weak apology and then I was informed I was at fault for not contacting the manager while still at the restaurant. The truth is, I just wanted out of Montana Mikes at that point.

Nothing to rave about. I had high hopes that were dashed. I have to give credit to management who seemed genuinely concerned about our lack of satisfaction & noticed we didn't clean our plates. The mason melonade was the best part of the visit! This cocktail is a must have, just not big enough, lol. The cheese fries were great after we got a plate of hot ones, real bacon... Yum! The fried okra was tasty but my steak seemed to be broiled, & gray for medium, not much flavor at all except for the Cajun shrimp sauce atop of it. Mac N Cheese was too runny. Our waitress NEVER offered dessert & was prompt to bring the check. She pretty much checked out after bringing the check. Such potential it seems, maybe I'll go back for drinks & appetizers.

Good food and good service.have had several meals off the menu and have enjoyed all of them.

Good food for a chain restaurant. The service is great and that's what keeps me going back.

We sat for 20 minutes and never got a drink order. I asked whether we had been assigned a server and they said she was too busy and would be by soon. Sat another five minutes while a group of 6 servers stood back by the kitchen talking and no one was attending to tables. After this we left. We won't be back.

I am sorry to say, this is my family's last visit. Our family of 10-12 have been coming here after church since the place opened. For the past several months we have witnessed a large decline in the food quality and service. Food comes to the table cold, wrong order, not all together. Complaints to the manager are met with mediocre and GAF attitude. NO SERVICE RECOVERY!!!!! Not looking for a free meal, I just want to be heard and feel like my concerns are met with genuine response. I hope the owner reads this before the place falls into a complete spiral without the ability to rectify the situation. MONTANA MIKES, THIS IS THE LAST TIME YOU WILL SEE A PARTY OF 12 ON A WEEKLY BASIS!!

A good place for lunch if you are wanting something other than fast food in Greenfield. The servers are nice, but a little slow, mostly due to the lunch rush, I'm sure. They have some good $6 lunch specials throughout the week as well as daily specials. Beware: taxidermy central. It is fitting, since it is a steakhouse, but maybe not for those faint at heart when it comes to Bambi and friends watching you eat.

The portions are large and the food is good. If your having a drink I suggest that you sit in the bar. My husband ordered absolut and I watched her put well vodka in it then told our waiter it was absolut. I brought it to his attention and the manager brought my husband the right drink. I would try it again. Bad waitstaff can kill a restaurant.

Montana Mikes is nothing too special, let's get that out of the way. I have had a few dishes on the menu that I wasn't too crazy about. The Ancho T-bone almost seemed like it was pounded out with a hammer which is something I'm not too keen on (I like my steaks to be thick). On the other hand I have had their "King of Steaks" porterhouse and I will say I was a lot happier with the cook (medium rare perfection) and the thickness of the steak (did not seem to be pounded flat). The mash potatoes every time were not very good at all, in fact kind of disappointing. On the other hand you can get a mouth watering 27oz. beer for around or even lower than the price of most 24oz. at the surrounding restaurants. Overall my experiences with Montana Mikes have not been great in terms of service or food quality. Seems to be a major issue with consistency, but when they get it right it can be a pleasurable dinner.

I would give it zero stars if possible. All I should have to say is instant mashed potatoes but our bartender/server had zero personality and was extremely grumpy.

Montana mike has several restaurants around the area. This is the first time we have tried this one. As with the other ones, results are mixed. Salad - iceberg lettuce. Two cherry tomatoes onion ring One slice cuke and a very small amount of cheese. Salad was cold and crisp as it should be, but just a little limited. We ordered a 12 oz prime rib for $16.00 or so and 12 oz NY strip special for $12.99. As a side we had mashed potatoes with brown gravy. Steak flavor was good but not real tender. Price of $12.99 made it a worthwhile special. Mashed potatoes were good and quite plentiful. Rolls were warm but soft. Service was pretty good and the waitress tried to be fairly attentive. She kept checking back to make sure all was well, which was nice. For the price the food was adequate...I can really say anything bad, but I won't be making a special trip to eat here again. This place reaches the "OK" level but more tender steaks would have been nice.

I have eaten here several times. Steaks a good value and the service has always been fine. Locals don't like the chicken however. I found my steaks tender and flavorful. Good baked sweet potatoes. Only gets a "4" because I don't think everything on the menu is top notch.

Very good, I was passing through and gave it a try.
