Exactly like Callahan's in Elkhart. Same menu. Same prices. Same senior citizens.

After church, my stepmom is out of town, so dad decides Lux Cafe is a good spot -- the huge menu will please me (omnivore and culinarily adventurous), him (mostly eats vegetarian) and my brother (meat-and-potatoes kinda guy). This place is very similar to the "Greek" diners that dot Chicagoland and so it felt familiar to me. Breakfast all day, gyros and burgers and wraps and soup and so forth... not much atmosphere, busy and crowded. I had a gyros scramble (eggs, gyro meat, feta, potatoes, tomato, onion) and coffee; my brother had a burger, my dad had a veggie wrap. The guys' meals came with soup. There was exactly one choice of soup: creamy chicken and rice. I think my dad would've been happier with a vegetarian option and it surprised me a little that that was THE only choice. But he ate it because that's the kind of guy he is. My scramble was tasty but more like a fritatta or open-faced omelet than a "scramble" (I was expecting curds of egg, big chunks, not a round flat thing). The coffee was reasonably good. Service was slow (took a long time to get our order taken; the waitress seemed busy but not so busy she couldn't have checked in a few more times) and we originally got the wrong check. But the prices are pretty low and the food was pretty good. So a solid three stars it is, for breakfast and a big menu in Goshen.

This place was suggested by the desk clerk at our hotel. The menu is very extensive and the prices very reasonable. The portions were large. I had the New Yorker. It was an 8 oz strip steak smothered in mozzarella cheese and grilled onions. It was served with homemade soup and a side. I chose the broccoli soup. It was excellent.

We have eaten here twice and would probably not return. In seems to be a popular place but I must not be ordering the right items from the menu. This time I had the all you can eat fish special for lunch. It was $7.95 and included fries and cole slaw. The fries and cole slaw were good but the fish was mediocre. They were thin pieces maybe 1/4 inch thick with mostly breading. My wife had the fish sandwich which came with fries and a bowl of soup for $5.95. She was disappointed that the fish was just a square fish patty and not a filet. She liked the fries and said the soup was ok. Service was fine and quick.

The 1st time I went the food was good but apparently it was a 1 hit wonder cuz the last 2 times the food was not appetizing next time just go to Bob Evans.

We had lunch here today. As some of the other reviews stated the potato soup is very good. I had the club BLT with fries. The fries were better than average but the sandwich was just so-so. It was mostly bread with very little inside. On the plus side we were served very quickly as were other tables within our view. Bathroom was nice and clean and that's usually a good indicator of what the kitchen looks like. All in all a good eating experience and yes we would go back but probably order something else off their huge menu.

Normally here for breakfast, but just recently had dinner here. Ordered the NY strip (medium) and it was done just how I wanted it. Had the potato soup which was excellent. Our server was nice so no complaints here.

Huge menu, almost overwhelming. Everything I've had has been decent, but not outstanding. With that being said its good enough that I eat here often. I'd recommend breakfast foods.

Exactly what I was looking for, a quick, cheap brunch. I had some eggs and pancakes. Nothing special but I wasn't looking to be wowed. I'll be going back because the service was fast and accommodating.

We stopped in Lux Cafe Saturday morning for breakfast. They were busy, but we were waited on quickly and our food arrived promptly and hot. I ordered the cinnamon french toast with raspberries. It was delicious. My husband ordered the Hawaiian Omelet and he enjoyed it very much. Food was very reasonable and service was great.

Typical Greek diner. Good food and big portions. The service was great and my club sandwich was good. I might try them for breakfast in the future.

My wife and I normally go here for breakfast. I ordered dinner for carry-out but we were missing our soup and dessert. From now on, it'll just be a dine-in breakfast spot.

Great breakfast place! Awesome omelettes here. Have only been here for b'fast, so can't comment on other meals.

I just ate there and it is my second time at this place. The food is great but most of all the service surpassed my expectations. Very friendly and attentive--Erin does a fantastic job waiting tables! I will most definitely come back again.

Ate here Thursday for the potato soup and it's not the first time and we usually love it but it was definitely lacking this time arnd. The chicken Philly was good & the fries are very good :)

While traveling, I stopped at Lux for lunch. The menu has just about everything you could imagine as far as American food goes. The prices were VERY reasonable, and the portions were large. I'm still in town and contemplating going back for dinner.

This is a basic Midwestern restaurant, one of several in the area that serves American food with the occasional Greek twist (there's a disguised spanikopita as a dinner option). There's not a ton for vegetarians to eat, but the breakfasts are good: big and lots of variety. I always get the Babalou, a "Mexican" omelette, minus the chorizo. My boyfriend, not being a vegetarian, finds this place to be kind of a "crap shoot" (his words): often the specials sound great but the food is overcooked and only tolerably edible. We come here a lot regardless. It's our default because it's the nearest sit-down restaurant to home. The servers are generally very sweet and attentive, the atmosphere is very relaxed, and because it's usually busy, there's usually a lot to see! Great for families with small kids. They didn't even kick us out the time my 2yo niece hammered a creamer packet and it sprayed all over the booth.

Diner food. The menu is extensive, but the food is bland. I ordered a Chicken Salad Croissant; it looked like deviled ham. The cole slaw was good though.

It's ok don' expect a lot and you'll be ok

Hands down, the best potato soup in Elkhart County. Yes, I am a soup fanatic and Lux Cafe is my favorite Thursday lunch spot for the soup. The rest of the menu is pretty good too.. Its a mix of Greek and Diner food and I love it. The prices are great, lunch can be had for about $12 with tip, and dinner isn't much more.
