I really liked the pizza here last night. Pretty sure it's cook in a wood stove. Anyhow, it was very good. We got some dough sticks, which were OK, but I think I would try their plethora of potato appetizer options next time. Th wings looked good too. Yeah, it's smoky. If that will ruin your night, don't come here. We sat in the back of the restaurant and it wasn't too bad. The sandwiches also look delicious. We are looking forward to returning soon!

Another place that will never get my business ever! 21 and over only? For a pizza place? I do not understand why an establishment would want to limit their customer base so much.

This is a restaurant/bar. Outdoor patio is very nice. Great food and great workers. Never a long wait for anything. Your wish if their command. 99.9 percent of the time a great polite crowd. The BLT turkey club is hugh and delicious. The steaks are worth going after repeatedly with family friends or alone. Parking is scant but is there. Real close to the Lake Michigan dunes. Just go and enjoy yourself. Guarantee you'll go back!

Pizza is hit or miss, but they craft a mean turkey and/or ham club sandwich. Prices are worth the quality of food, they provide pleasant service and it's convenient. I recently tried a breakfast and it was surprisingly decent; again convenience and supporting the local businesses plays a role, but worth it.

Excellent pizza + more for those finding themselves close to Miller beach. You cannot go wrong with either their pizza, perch, or italian beef. Paired with a great local(ish) microbrew, a fantastic way to spend a lunch or dinner with family/friends. Would recommend the perch platter for newcomers as it's truly great!

I had the opportunity to check out this place late Saturday afternoon with a friend. He's been there a few times since living in the area and wanted me to give it a try. One thing he warned me about is that it does get smoky since smoking is allowed in the establishment. Of course I'm used to smoke free living in Illinois. So that was an adjustment though it didn't really get bad until near the end of our meal. So it seemed I had no real luck with my orders. I wanted to start with an hard apple cider from their extensive beer menu. The original one I picked wasn't available but luckily they did have Angry Orchard, which I like as well. That wound up being good as was my sip of my friend's India Pale Ale beer. I wasn't sure what I wanted to order as everything sounded good but then I settled on the Swiss & Shroom burger and requested a pretzel bun for an extra buck. As luck would have it, they had no pretzel buns so I had to settle for a regular bun. I also ordered a side of fries to go with my burger. I received my order and actually thought the amount of fries was lacking (but then again I don't need the extra calories anyway). The burger itself was very tasty so that was fine. My friend ordered his favorite dish, the Chef Salad, which looked quite tasty and plentiful. He enjoyed it. It's a nice charming place even with the stale smoke in the air. I would say the smoke was its own character.

Very smoky. I did not realize that they were given provisions to allow smoking in this restaurant and bar. Just beware. The smoke was so thick I had to leave. I heard the food was good...don't know.

First I need to say that in no way is this one star representative of the hard working, friendly wait staff. The bartender, on the other hand, is one of the rudest people I have ever met! You will know exactly who I am talking about if you should decide to check this place out. The BLT had one little tomato and one piece of lettuce. What is crazy is this used to be one of my favorite meals to get with the seasoned waffle fries, but it seems like the cooks just don't care anymore. The food also took forever to come out. The lake perch and house salad with the house dressing still rocks, but the attitude of that bartender cancels that out. I would recommend sticking with the lake perch and tartar sauce to go. Just try not to piss off the bartender and hold your breath cause smoking is still allowed in there. I hope they get their act together because this place could be good again.... If they even care anymore.

On a Sunday @ 4pm, the place was almost full. We both only ordered BLT sandwiches with fries & Pepsi, it only took SEVENTY MINUTES for it to get to our table! I never realized that u could fry the flavor right out of bacon, but they did it! & how do u ruin white toast? The bread was hard & dry, the bacon was way overcooked. I knew we were in trouble when the waitress wouldn't make eye contact. I couldn't wait to leave & will not be going back.

Smoky, noisy and dark is what I found. Ordered appetizer sampler only to have them make unnoted substitutions. Lake perch is average priced but the portions are smaller than what I am accustomed to. NOT a family stop; called ahead one day when I had grandchildren in tow and was informed they were not welcome. I won't be back.

Pizza is great (or not...the other food can be very good or mediocre..Very inconsistent)! Pizza can have great crust and ingredients one day...the next...it's a disappointing uneven mess with old burned pieces covering the crust's bottom (they obviously don't always clean the ovens regularly) Cigarette smoking IS allowed..so order out unless you like smoke. If you want to eat in..order for take out and sit on the outdoor side patio (ps: they often don't answer their take out phones).

We went to Flamingo's a while back and ordered a thin crust cheese pizza and the lake perch dinner. The lake perch was very good. The pizza, however, can only be described as inedible. There was a very thin crust on the bottom, some sauce in the middle, and about five pounds of cheese on top. There was so much cheese on this pizza that it was almost unrecognizable as a pizza. We went back for lunch the other day and had a good meal. I decided to try the pizza in another form and ordered the calzone. It was good and the ingredients were proportionate. My boyfriend had a burger and liked it. The service was good and we had a nice meal. I would like to give this place four stars, but I have to settle on three because they allow smoking. I realize that smoking is allowed in bars in the state of Indiana, but come on, we have entered 2014; no one should be allowed to smoke in a place that serves food. I was in there for an hour and when I left my jacket smelled like my uncle's basement on Christmas Eve in 1985.

If I owned a bar I would want it to be like this. Great older crowd, excellent food, and good beer selection. I have never had a bad meal here!!

We had to stop by after hearing the pizzas are amazing. This place is out of our way but a nice little pizza joint in Miller. Food was delicious and the staff is very friendly and fast. We will definitely be back.

Pizza: tasty. Service: mediocre. Owner: RUDE, insulting to the wait staff, and dropping F*** bombs while having to declog the toilet in the back of the restaurant. He told a CUSTOMER who needed to use the restroom to "F*** off" while he tried to fix the problem, and then proceeded to curse and yell at one of the two flustered waitresses who were obviously trying to service the frustrated customers who were waiting an excessive time for a table and their dinner. To the ignorant, seedy, degenerate, disreputable low-life "owner," tall man with gray hair, black shirt, and jean shorts: learn how to treat your staff and YOUR CUSTOMERS better and you'll get a better review. How DARE you get pissed off because your shitty toilets aren't working properly? You're the owner, grow a PAIR and take care of these issues yourself. I certainly don't appreciate hearing your filthy mouth running off about your crappy plumbing. I hope it overflowed and got all over your shoes. Jerk.

This place is excellent, wonderful atmosphere for the middle aged. Great imports. The place looks over a hundred years old as far as decor. It's beautiful, Dixie dairy brick and ceiling from the old Sears building makes it so cozy. A must try, make sure you get the purple haze.

Remember the vacation summer homes as a kid? The local restaurants? This place reminds me of summer youth in Wisconsin BUT only it's 45 mins. from Chicago. Steps from the private beaches of Lake Michigan. Serves a great purpose. It's packed during the summer time from beach lovers. The food is two steps above bar food. The pizza is decent. The fries. The fries. That's why you should come. If you ever need a break from City life, go to the beaches of Miller, the Dunes of Indiana and finish with a cold one and a bite full of really good food. It's a package deal.

Great Pizza! I know there are other places for pizza in Miller but I have special place in my heart and tummy for their pizza. Sausage and onion is way to go or try the Italian beef pizza with giardinara, yum. Kinda smokey in the restaurant side but sitting at the bar will allow you to meet some awesome local folks.

Flamingo is your quintessential neighborhood bar with a few added perks. Pretty decent pizza, great wings, and a consistently solid draft list that has featured Bell's and New Holland for quite awhile alongside your usual "brews". Outside pizza and wings, food is pretty mediocre. The perch itself is pretty legit, although the combination with wonderbread buns doesn't exactly make it. I docked my original rating owing to a few annoyances over the past year including some of the aforementioned mediocre food and the fact that I get carded, without fail, every time I come in (typically weekly for the past year or so). To that end it feels a little cliquey, but what can you do? Great spot overall.

Best lake perch in the world. Very quaint place. It is a bar in front so there is still smoking inside so that is a downer but it doesn't stop is from coming back. Waitstaff is very friendly.

You need to get beyond the carry out. To the side is a bar. The bar is your typical neighborhood type with mixed clientele. This hides an excellent restaurant. Lunch has a nice mix of specials that are tasty. But, my favorite is the perch. I'll put it close to Teibel's. The basket has become my regular lunch item with one of their boutique brews. If you look beyond the obvious, you will be rewarded

Maybe it was an off night, but our experience last night was disappointing. The food was very good - we had the perch dinner and a pizza. The pizza could have been hotter, but was good none the less. What ruined the night was that we waited over 2 hours for our meal. We got there at 5:30 and were seated quickly. That was the extent of quick for the evening. Our party of 6 lost our patience at the end - we ordered salads and chowder which came out relatively soon - and then waited probably another 90 minutes for the entree's to arrive. We complained to our server, who did her best to handle the situation, but got NO support by her manager, who walked around the place like he did not care one way or another. Like I said, the food was good, but the kitchen process must be really messed up. I know little about the restaurant business, but I know you have to turn tables in a way that you maximize revenues. I am sure the owners of this place have to look at the revenue coming in on a Friday and wonder what went wrong. Flamingo has built a good reputation, but it appears to me that they may be taking it for granted that people will continue to support it with sub-par performance....the only business that I know of that can pull that off is the Cubs!

I got beyond the carry out and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken wrap that I purchased was delicious and my husband enjoyed his steak sandwich. The service was excellent and the restaurant atmosphere is nice.

They're alright. It depends on what kind of pizza you like - and this isn't much of my thing. They're better than Miller Pizza, if you ask me, but I'm still not totally into them. My father and stepmother love them, though... so I guess it really is all about what you like in your pizza. I find them to be a bit on the greasy side. Their cheese is good, the toppings are okay but the crust is just blah for me. I'd rather go to Pequod's anyday, but this is probably the best bet in the area. At least I know their pizza is fresh, so there is that. I'd give them an extra half star if I could. I'd at least reccomend trying them out if you're in the area and you want pizza - you may like their style of pizza more than I do.

Ah, Flamingo Pizza! This place has got to be at least 20 years old, based on my years of experience there. Just a few blocks from Miller Beach, the shores where I spent most of my childhood summers, Flamingo Pizza was the site of many wet-bathing suit dinners when I was growing up. I had my first popcorn shrimp at Flamingo! And my first flavored Diet Rite can of pop! These are special memories, people. The pizza is good, but I think the stromboli is better. If the delightful smell of baking pizza doesn't get you drooling, you might have a nasal blockage. One of the things I love about Flamingo is how extremely casual it is. Since Miller is a beach community, it's pretty normal to see folks wandering around in their bathing suits. So if you're starving after a day of playing in the waves, it's perfectly okay to walk to Flamingo in your suit, sit at one of the outside tables and enjoy the evening breeze while inhaling some stromboli, a popcorn shrimp basket or a pizza. I'm sure they have more than that, but this beach bum got hooked on those three tasty items. Hooray for the beach and relaxed, tasty meals!
